Best Pizza I've had in a long time. We had the Tutto w/o mushrooms and it was excellent. There was NO shortage of fresh veggies and the sauce was perfect. Unlike most pizza places there was little cheese because it didn't need it! The only negative was the toppings fell off easily making it a little difficult to eat. We will definitely go back when we return to the cape! Best Pizza I've had in a long time. We had the Tutto w/o mushrooms and it was excellent. Great ice cream! Wow -- what a selection -- we had a scoop of pomegranate dark chocolate and another of white ginger ice cream -- love that they make it right there at the shop. We were served by a helpful and pleasant young man -- we will definitely go back!

This is the PERFECT place to grab breakfast before you head to a nearby beach. We stayed nearby in Truro, and there wasn't much around. I was delighted this cafe/pizza/ice cream place was so close. I was a fan of the iced coffee, breakfast sandwiches (they are big), and chocolate desserts!

This place is fantastic for breakfast lunch or dinner. Eat in or take out. Consistently delicious food from sandwiches to pizza to pastries. Great ice cream too! This is not a sit down restaurant but if you are looking for a low key, order at the counter experience in Truro, Savory is hard to beat. The Calamity Jane sandwich was delicious, though the dressing is thick enough that it will give your heart a bit of a workout.

This place is really cool! Diverse ice cream selection and a nice look. It's not one of those dirty, sticky ice cream shacks. This feels like an upscale place. I didn't get dinner here or anything, but it looked great. If it weren't all the way in Truro, I would probably go there minimum once every week.

A must stop when leaving Provincetown. Great pizza, home made ice cream, and then grab a really good cup of coffee for the road.

driving from Ptown to Eastham in the off season, I planned on hitting Orleans for food and back tracking to our hotel. we were thrilled to see the pizza sign and SO happy we stopped in. we ordered simple -- soup, chicken, fries -- despite a pretty varied menu. the soup was kettle cuisine, disappointing but alright enough to warm up to. the kids devoured the chicken saying it was the "best they've ever had in their whole lives." the fries were all mine, yummy! the desserts looked amazing, but we had our hearts set on ice cream and glad we had it! lots of flavors to choose from, and so delicious. service was fast and pleasant. the place was busy enough on the food side for a cold February afternoon. it was fun to overhear the conversations of people that stopped in saying that vacation wouldn't be vacation without stopping at Sweet Escape despite how cold out it was. i'm going to be one of those people soon enough and i'm definitely trying those desserts!

Cupcakes - 5 stars Coffee - 4 stars Panini (turkey, swiss, stuffing, cranberry) & Fries - 3 stars Not accepting credit cards - negative 5 stars Ice cream - 900 stars 1 unisex restroom - 1 star I've been here quite a few times over the years and the ice cream is seriously damn delicious. The coffee is quite good and the service is always pleasant. All in all, I totally recommend stopping in. Constructive criticism: I know this sounds ridiculous (and not at all like me), but I feel like the baked goods are way too big. I ate a QUARTER of a cupcake and once attempted a whole muffin and thought I might die. I feel like I'd be more inclined to make food purchases if the goods were more reasonably sized.

Really thought with all the great reviews this place got it would be great. I was never more disappointed. It was nothing more then a pizza parlor with bad service and food. Service was run bu three teenage boys who did were not interested in working. They mopped the floors right while customers were coming in walked dirty dishes that were stacked next to food prep area through customer area. Wanted to buy some of the yummy looking desserts but after seeing the lack if cleanliness there decided against it. It was that bad. Pizza was not great either, never had stewed tomatoes on my pizza for sauce. All and all was extremely disappointed in this place and will not go there or recommend it.

This place is a welcome reprieve from the usual road-side stops that can be hit or miss. This one was all hit and no miss. Great service, food, outside seating and even ice cream! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, but only one restroom. The special was delish - a ham panini deal. My niece got the pizza, which was really good too.

I stopped into Savory for a breakfast sandwich yesterday for the first time. Very good sandwich and very good coffee!

Home made ice cream and good pizza in an area with limited choices nearby. Just wish that they accepted credit cards.

Coffee was good. Wish the seating was more comfy and inviting.

This place is incredible. Clean, and professional. Many, many homemade flavors of hard ice cream (upwards of 30) and lots of homemade pies. Had the chocolate peanut butter last time...still am comparing all else to it. It's also outside all of the Provincetown hubbub and off the major road (6). Definite, definite recommend.

Every year we go to the Cape this is a place we have to stop at. For the first few years there was only ice cream. The ice cream comes in a ridiculous number of flavors and is very good (and rich). You only need a small cup to satisfy your ice cream fix for the day. This year we finally stopped in on the regular food side and found that their sandwiches are quite good as well. All in all, we enjoy going this pair of establishments. Beware: Cash Only, ATM inside (with surcharge)

We've had both their pizzas and their bakery items. Both above average. HUGE scones are unbelievably good. Chocolaty "thingamabogs" (that I can't remember the name of...look for something extremely decadent looking covered in chocolate and it is probably it) truly amazing, extremely good pizza. We've not had anything here that we did not like and have been here a few times.

Very friendly service. Busy place (good sign) even at 7:30 on labor day Monday. Food is very satisfying.

Maple bacon ice cream! Holy moley, it was fabulous. Small portion size and small price too! 5.70 for two kiddie size cones. Staff was busy but happily allowed tastings of several flavors. Didn't eat the pizza, can't comment on that.

On vacation from California and on of our favorite outings is to try new ice cream shops. Sweet Escapes was recommended for their cranberry ice cream and they were spot on. Super good, easy access, big selection

Savory in Truro and Twistd Sisters in Provincetown are the two best places to get really amazing Pizza. I especially love their Margarita Pizza. The pastries and ice cream is to die for and while I wouldn't enjoy eating there (except for a quick bite for lunch), I never turn down a trip to Savory.

  • Teresa H.

Cold deli sandwiches are ok, but not their specialty. Stick with the pizza, grinders and ice cream and you will not be disappointed. During lunch you've got to be on top of the guy at the cash register, or your order may sit in the window indefinitely.

Friendly atmosphere. We really wanted breakfast and there isn't much breakfast around. It's before Halloween and you can't miss the place, with all the inflated pumpkins around! The breaker with Portuguese sausage really is good: serves two women's appetite, easily!

They have a lot of young folks working here and they are so polite and friendly. Whoever does the hiring should get a shout out cause these kids are hard workers Now let's get to the real reason folks should not walk but rather run. Delicious, unusual, and my God- TASTY!!!!!! I think it is o One of the greatest. Try the Pinot Nior Choc late Chili and the Mud Flaps.

Definitely a good time. Stopped in on a whim as we were driving out to Truro Vineyards. What I will say is that it's a little weird that they have a bit of everything: coffee shop, pastries, cookies, ice cream, pizza, sandwiches and wraps... However, there are some definite good eats here. I had a buffalo chicken wrap that was really good. The fries were thin and ok. The wife had pizza that was ok. The pastries, cookies and cakes looked really really good, but we were too full from lunch to eat much more. We stopped over to the ice cream side of the store and they have an insane amount of types of ice cream and shakes, etc. They even have a shaved ice machine. We stopped back later after our drive up to the end of the cape because we wanted to try the ice cream. They are ok with free samples too, so you can try things. The wife got some Truro Cranberry Red wine infused Italian style ice (the vineyard is only a few minutes away). It was really sweet for my taste, but she really liked it. I got the red velvet ice cream, which was phenomenal. I have never heard of this before, but it was great and definitely worth a try.

Great ice cream, interesting flavors well rendered, with lots of stuff in it, just the way I like it. Coffee-flavored ice cream was rich and intense, with great "real coffee" flavor. Outside seating area was attractive and comfortable, but apparently also very popular among the local mosquitoes. Look for a review from them about the well-rendered, full-flavored blood from some guy from Pennsylvania. I hope they give me at least four stars.

Ice cream : I ordered the "skinny" and it was huge. Tastey, interesting flavors.

great place to stop if your on route 6. It was so good we went back the next night. First night we had brick oven chicken, tomato and basil pizza it was the best. Second night had roast beef, brie and peppers panni and hand cut fries also great. Went over the ice cream area and found lavander, fig ice cream to die for. All ice cream is homemade and a great selection of them.

  • K B.

Great find. Pizza was delicious! It's the kind of place where you order at the counter and they bring food to the table. Indoor and outdoor seating. Baked goods looked amazing but we went for the ice cream. Really nice homemade ice cream with standard and creative flavors. I had Andes mint chip and wife had a coffee toffee frappe.

  • Mark D.

One of the best places for casual food. The pizza is excellent. The ice cream is very original and fun. There is outdoor seating without table service. There is also a great deletion of breakfast pastries and coffee. This is not run of the mill. Quality of food is very high

We stopped here for icecream for our kids and coffee and treats for us. First impression was not so good. I don't think I've ever come across such a dour, sour, sad sack of an icecream scooper in my entire life. Here I have two little girls who are thrilled to be getting some icecream on vacation and this guy just seems so pained to be even waiting on us. The folks working on the coffee side of the restaurant were slightly better. But my wife did not like her frozen coffee drink and my latte was rather weak. Good cookies and other treats in the pastry case though. I hate to give this place only one star, because the icecream was good and it has some real promise. But if they can't bother to hire happy, friendly, welcoming staff, I can't bother to give more than one star.

  • Steve D.

This is a completely unassuming place, you wold drive by it on route 6 glance and not think to pull over and look for something better, DO NOT DO THAT. The food here is good, beyond the standard Cape fare. the pizza is out of a fired oven (not sure what makes the fire gas, wood, coal) and comes nicely blistered and slightly charred with a great balance between sauce, cheese and crust. Probably the best pizza on the Cape. The panini was also quite good, although it was a bit heavy on the Gorgonzola... As a bonus they also make their own ice cream and sorbet on premise, with a great variety of "adult" inspired flavors using ingredients such a Limoncello. The next time in Truro I'll be stopping again.

  • D S.

Four stars for amazing ice cream! Favorites include lavender fig and believe it or not Guinness stout! Closes at 10; perfect end to a cape cod evening. Pizza and salads are decent and it's nice to eat outdoors even though right on route 6. Very family friendly. Oh, and don't forget to splurge on the home made waffle cones and staff is very generous on free samples.

Late Saturday night on the Cape, and not wanting an hours-long wait for dinner before the long drive home, we kept driving on Rt. 6 past Wellfleet. We scored with this place. Almost no wait for dinner ( most if the lines were for ice cream ). Food hit the spot: sandwiches were fresh, hot and delicious. Plus, great bakery that makes sweets on site. Get some for the ride home. They bring it to your table after ordering . Plenty of seats outside. Perfect when you are all "seafooded" out, or have non-seafood eaters in your group. No CC accepted, but ATM on site. If we lived in area, it would be a Go-to place.

A surprise...Lots of choices, but it is open every day of the year...I had a turkey wrap...pizza was food Cash only...wraps, subs, panini,breakfasts...not many other choices and friendly helpers

These people make insanely good icecream. Walking in you can smell the freshly made cones -- which are delicious and cinnamon-y. There's an overwhelming amount of delicious sounding flavors to try but we settled on the celebration cake flavor (it has real chunks of cake and frosting in it!) and the cookies smash (real oreos and chips ahoy mixed in to vanilla ice cream) and they were both phenomenal. Definitely pull over to get some ice cream here.

Sucked. This place is actually really good as it is well priced and has good food for no tip. Outdoor seating is great. However, I called ahead and the woman had a thick accent and claimed she could hear me, so I changed self phones and called back. Same thing could hear me but finally got ge order and repeated it back. Went to pick up and it was not crowded, and waited in line for a while as the 2 cashiers were taking phone orders. Right when a chad heir was freed up a party went up to her and said they had a takeout order. I immediately said that I also had a takeout order and had been waiting. She proceeded to take the other party that just walked in. I asked if that was he "take out register" and what to do next time I had takeout and they said "no, just walk to the front of the line". Then they got our order wrong. Very disorganized, ...makes it easy to cheat them especially since their service sucks.

Went for ice cream, got the coffee heath bar. The ice cream was icy. It looked good, but didn't taste that good.

We were all very excited to try their ice cream as we had had their pizza last year and it was good, but IMO the ice cream proved more hype for me than substance. They had run out of waffle cones which I had heard so much about and it wasn't a busy time at all, so that was a bit disappointing. My husband and I both got the sundaes: his with caramel mine with hot fudge. I got one scoop of chocolate peanut butter cup and one scoop of cherry cheesecake. Sure there were toppings of hot fudge and with cream to navigate around but I kept looking for the cherry flavor in the cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter cup was a dense chocolate without the pb I was craving. The ice cream was not creamy, so if you're looking for that go elsewhere. Sure the flavor selection was interesting and extensive, With flavors such as maple bacon and red velvet cake but in terms of flavor- punch I found it lacking. Maybe just the flavors i got, i dont know. Not an ice cream shop I'd go out of my way to visit again.

Saw this place while passing. Staff was very friendly, baked goods tasted great, and we had a mix of breakfast and lunch which were both very good!

Pizza/Ice Cream Joint, only nicer. This place was good. On one side it's a pizza parlor (not just pizza, but mostly) and the other side was ice cream. Went there with the wife and kids, got a pizza. Since they were behaving, got some ice cream after. The kids liked both, which is a rare. It's usually the ice cream they prefer. The parking lot is pretty sizable, but also pretty well used as I don't remember seeing an empty spot. Still got one with no problem. You do need to use caution getting in and out of the parking lot as it's right off the main road and thereby open to some speeders. Not sure if this is new in this area or I just missed it every other time I was in town. Cool find.

AHEM! I wrote a review of the Sweet Escape part of this business way back in 2009. I have now removed that review. It was not favorable. We ordered pizza from Savory about 3 times in the last month. While the wait times are haphazard at best, we did really enjoy the pie. As has been stated in some of the reviews, the seating leaves something to be desired. Outdoor seating is nice, but indoor feels chaotic and disorganized. Is there anyway to expand the dining area or make it more comfortable? Probably, but it would need some creative thinking and design. On to Sweet Escape.... The POMEGRANATE CHIP ice cream is the best ice cream I have had in my life. DID YOU HEAR ME? I am a life-long ice cream connoisseur, I kid you not, and this ranks in the top 5 ice cream experiences of my life. I don't even like fruit ice cream. Get it in the homemade waffle cone. Bring cash because I understand from all the reviews that they don't take cards. Who cares? Get away from the evil lending corporations, help out a local business, support a cash economy and order the best ice cream flavor of your life. All should be forgiven after you eat that. Even the single bathroom (expand, please!). Oh, the parking lot is another point of chaos. Watch out for entitled people in humongous SUVs.

Most everything these guys have to offer is great. Pizza is awesome and the ice cream/ baked goods are to die for. Stay away from the burgers, as they are nothing special. I'd also not order the fries as they are grease soaked and mushy. Panini's and sandwiches are decent. I wish they accepted credit cards, because it's an inconvenience to withdrawal money from the ATM. Also the place is always super super busy, so the staff seem very tired and I imagine it's difficult to keep the dining areas spic and span. However, I always saw someone wiping down tables. Other reviewers complained about cleanliness in the restaurant, but I think you have to take into account the sheer volume of customers that go through this restaurant. I've seen dunkin donuts with no customers and abysmal levels of cleanliness. I think there's a difference. All in all, Savory & the sweet escape is a must stop for anyone in the area who needs a nice treat and a break from the typical cape cod fare.

Great coffee (bold offerings), amazing baked goods... I didn't try anything else but the place was busy so I can't imagine it's not all good. ; )

I could eat every day at this bakery/ice cream/pizza place while on vacation. Everything is freshly made and delicious. The scones are gigantic and moist, but still crumbly. I also got a huge nutmeg muffin which was advertised as being "dipped in butter and rolled in cinnamon sugar". What else do you need to know? Oh, the pizza is good too! It is cracker crust and very fresh - big roasted tomato chunks in the sauce, and flavorful portabella mushrooms.

  • Joseph M.

This place started out as an ice cream parlor / bakery and over several years expanded to sell sandwiches and pizza. We had a pizza and a panzanella salad. The salad was not that good and was definitely not a true panzanella salad which is a bread salad - no bread in the salad at all. However the pizza was delicious. The crust was cooked perfectly and the hand-sliced pepperoni was spicy. The sauce could use a little spice but was perfectly edible.

My husband and I found this place totally by accident, on our first trip to Truro in 2009. We have been devoted customers ever since. The scones are absolutely to DIE for. Im now gluten intolerant so I'm sadly unable to taste them... but if you can eat wheat, I highly recommend them! The breakfast sandwich The Breaker nearly brings my husband to tears every time he has one. Wood fired pizzas are very good, and this season they offer a gluten free option! And my friends the ice cream.... Oh the ice cream.... We do think this is the best we have ever had. Ever. Anywhere. No lie. You have to try the ice cream. Wow! There are many, many superlatives about Savory and Sweet Escapes. We are such devote fans that we even bought t-shirts! I can and do recommend Savory and Sweet Escapes wholeheartedly, with one caveat: the service is uneven at best... And often quite surly. Now remember, we are fans. we think the quality of the product here is absolutely outstanding. We recommend you go and enjoy, but Please don't be surprised if the service is not up to the quality of the food. Be polite and patient and you will be rewarded with some absolutely outstanding baked goods, sandwiches, pizza, and ice cream. Like us, you will return every single time you are on the Cape.

  • Heather H.

First impression: Croissants only. Oh. Wow. I picked up a bunch of filled croissants from here, and they were fantastic. Like fancy New York bakery fantastic. I wish I'd gotten more fantastic. People who I did not buy croissants for were hovering around us hoping we wouldn't finish them all fantastic. Did I mention they were pretty good?

  • Deidre F.

Rude! The girl behind the ice cream counter ruined what is supposed to be a fun experience. We were rushed through the line and couldn't even read the menu. She bullied people along with a fake chipper voice that really made it even worse. You're supposed to walk out of an ice cream parlor smiling not wondering what the heck just happened in there! Out on the patio we discovered other people had the same experience. It was very frustrating. I felt like I was being told that the next customer was more important than me and I should just pick something and move. I picked the maple bacon ice cream and the first bite I got a burnt piece of bacon. I make this flavor at home and this experience was horrible. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the man at the register immediately replaced it with chocolate ice cream which was just ok. A warning to anyone planning on visiting there tonight...I am going back. I am going to read the flavors and I am going to take my time (not excessively) in choosing my purchase. I don't care what the ogre behind the counter says and if you are stuck behind me I don't mind if you cut ahead of me. I hope I find a decent ice cream

  • J M.

We got the Tutto pizza and it was excellent. Probably one of the better pizzas I've had. It could also be that I was hungry but even so I think it was still a good pizza. After staring at the array of cupcakes while waiting for the pizza, I had to get some. I tried the chocolate peanut butter and red velvet. I wasn't too crazy about the peanut butter frosting but the chocolate cake is filled with peanut butter and that made it tasty. The red velvet was AWESOME. The cream cheese frosting was sweet and flavorful as was the cake. All red velvet cupcakes should be made like the ones here! Service was okay. There was one guy who was really friendly.

The pizza was surprisingly very good. Cheese pizza and the Bianca were both great. The Bianca had big chunks of roasted garlic. Love garlic. After dinner we all had delicious ice cream.

Great pizza! Totally fresh veggies (including the mushrooms) on a really large thin-crust pizza. So happy to find this place open and tasty in the otherwise 'bleak mid-winter.' Nice spot!

Not good - I'd give it 0 stars if that were an option. Melted ice cream as it's being scooped. Staff not friendly. They don't accept credit cards. Don't bother stopping here. Huge disappointment

Definitely a place to hit if your out on the tip of the Cape! One of the only places around (in Truro) to get a great ice coffee AND a great ice cream cone too. Sweet Escapes has some of the best ice coffee I've ever had and some of the best homemade ice cream too, which was a bit dangerous for my friends and I who were renting a cottage less than a mile away! Delicious unique flavors, definitely try the Wicked Mud Flats, Caramel Crunch and Cookie Smash... all great. They'll let you try as many flavors as you want too, so take advantage of those tasting spoons!

Great ice cream! If you are on the outer cape a must go. We went three nights in a row during our vacation. Well worth the wait if the line is long.

  • Jake R.

Outstanding pizza and sandwiches. This local joint is as good as it gets. If you are heading to PTown it's directly on Route 6, about ten to fifteen minutes outside of town. Possibly the best pizza I've ever had. Obviously fresh ingredients. Reasonably priced, particularly considering the quality. And the burgers are terrific. Lots of flavor, served on square foccacia rolls. One side of the building is pizza and sandwiches. The other side is home made ice cream. It can get pretty busy, so it's best to know what you want before you get to the counter to order.

  • Victoria S.

Very unique flavors and very good!! Serving sizes ar very large. I got a kiddie which was one scoop, one very large scoop, and was more than enough for me. They call the small a "skinny" however it is anything but that. Decent price though for homemade icecream. I sampled their homemade waffle cones, also delicious. I got the cranberry bog which was cranberry icecream with white and dark chocolate chunks and walnuts. Amazing. I also sampled the strawberry basil sorbet which was surprisingly good! They also have a nice place outside to sit and enjoy. Overall a good experience! Can't beat Sundae School in Orleans though!

This is just a review for the ice cream, we have never tried the food here, although what I have seen coming out of the kitchen looks quite good. If they had any gluten-free pizza for my son, we'd be all over this place on a regular basis. The ice cream is very good. It's not quite as amazing as my beloved Sundae School over in East Orleans, but it's still very fine, creamy, not overly sweet, generous portions. Wicked Mud Flats combines a very good coffee ice cream with heath bars, brownies, and a fudge swirl. The banana-caramel-nut with the name I can't remember had a very nice banana flavor, although I could not discern the caramel at all. Hot fudge was OK, not amazing, definitely not homemade like one might expect from a really serious ice cream place. One of our kids said the salted caramel was way too salty for her. The two other kids gave high marks to the deep chocolate. I tried my husband's lavender fig one night and it was very interesting but a little went a long way. The next time, he got the cranberry bog, cranberry with chocolate chips and possibly a few other things, I'm not sure since husband was pretty stingy with sharing it! Yum. Note to ALL ice cream places that invent their own flavors. You could make your line move much faster if you'd just write a simple explanation of what is in the flavors on the chalkboard. Why on earth do the servers have to explain Wicked Mud Flats or Ryder Beach Rubble to 30 patrons a night, why not just write it down and let us read it at our leisure while waiting?

Great pizza. coffee and breakfast items. Unacceptable not to offer a credit card machine. I can live w/out AMEX, but none at all? The onus on the buyer to spend $3.50 to take money out of the money machine?

  • Kris L.

the pizza is most excellent - i rec the mista. the cupcakes are ginormous, but are on the dry side. i find the combo of pizza things on one side, with coffee, ice cream and baked goods on the other to be a fabulous and world-rocking concept. the outdoor patio is fragrant and shady, if only there were hammocks. prices are cape cod high, but the pizza is almost worth it.

It's nice to have something like this in Truro, from the free wi-fi to the panini and ice cream. The ice cream is pretty good - rich but not as sticky as Ben & Jerry's, but creamier than the Boston-area gourmet places (like Toscanini's and Christina's). THey have some inventive flavors, although they and more places in general need to have Mud Pie (the best flavor ever thank you Herrell's) the coffee is decent, the panini I had was okay - I'd prefer a pesto to a balsamic vinaigrette with my mozz & tomato, but overall pretty good. A popular place and I like that they are open late, a non-alcohol-related night-time social place, good for the kids, and for me too!

Homemade ice creams made on site. Owner operated. Great breakfast selection, fresh made breakfast sandwiches. Lunch sandwiches are out of this world. Great prices, great portions. Soon to expand to include, pizza, burgers, onion rings, fries ++. Great location and plenty of parking.

Very good old fashioned ice cream with TONS of flavors to choose from. I tried samples of the Coffee Toffee, John's Nuttynana Chip, and the Purple Cow. I ended up getting the Purple Cow, which was blackberry + milk? I forget. But it was pretty good. Very large portions for $3.25.

There are many flavors to choose from, but they're all pretty bland. The ice cream is edible, but I desire more flavor in my ice cream if I'm sacrificing the calories. A couple of times I had freezer burn in my scoop, which is no good. I'd say 2.5 stars, because it's not fantastic but it's not bad either.

Truro is my happy place - and Savory is the best. I always go early in the morning and grab a coffee with the locals, before heading to watch the sunrise at Long Nook beach. The dirt bombs are life changing - nutmeg muffin rolled in cinnamon and sugar. The few times I've branched out to other breakfast pastries, they didn't disappoint - scones and muffins filled with fresh berries, everything just baked and frequently still warm. Then I go back in the afternoon after the beach for ice cream - which is all made in house and delicious. Creative flavors - the bacon is ridiculously good. All in all, a great local spot with consistent quality and friendly staff.

Love this little place and I stop at least once every time I go up to the Cape! It has everything one needs from coffee to sandwiches to ice cream. I'll be honest, I haven't been for lunch yet, however my parents rave and they even have a menu on the fridge at the house and they bring all of the guests who visit them in the summer. My experiences: * Coffee (iced; americano; etc. you name it) - I need caffeine to start my day and this is the only place open at the ungodly early hours I like to be up at. The prices are very reasonable (I am used to Fairfield County and NYC) and everything I've ordered has been great! * Bacon, egg and cheese (on a Portuguese sweet roll) - I'm normally a protein shake/breakfast smoothie type of person, but I do like to indulge in one of my guilty pleasures: Bacon. I love bacon, egg and cheeses but I try to order them while on "vacation" vs. the normal day-to-day. It was delish! ...and the choice of getting the Portuguese sweet roll added the perfect mix of sweet to the salty. Will definitely be ordering again. * Pastries - everything is fresh early morning, so all the delectable looked amazing! I'm not a huge carb person, but i did order a scone to try and it was fantastic. My family raves about everything else as well. * Ice cream / Sorbet - Interesting flavors and also delish, definitely a nice treat in the evening! A nice little gem on the Outer Cape and worth the stop of you have time! Not much else out this way that gives a wide variety of choices for all.

don't write this place off thinking, "it's hot, it's summer i'm not in the mood for pizza or a sub", i'm not either, but who cares?! you will be in the mood for everything on the menu once you step inside. ok, so maybe you don't want pizza, fine. how about a melt in you're mouth panini? you really want one of theirs, because whatever one you choose i promise you it will be a crunchy toasty melty, savory creamy heaven. you also want their campfire s'more brownie. it's honestly the best brownie i've ever had. you will love it too. also pretty sure their ice cream is some of the best on the cape.

The food here was the only saving grace. The order at the counter is the most unorganized situation that I have seen at a restaurant. We didn't even know they had breakfast sandwiches until I saw a guy in the back behind a grill. From first impression, you think that they only have breakfast pastry, coffee etc. The only posted menu is the bakery. The breakfast menu is a paper folded to go menu on the counter near the register. We got the breakfast wrap and it was really good. I also enjoyed the outdoor patio with the flower boxes all in bloom.

A nice place to stop in for a pizza or home made ice cream Expect long lines and delays as it is summer on the cape.

Terrible customer service, long wait for food, unfriendly staff for mediocre over priced food. This place will go under. No business ethics at all. Will never return!! I wish I could give it negative stars!!

Went to this place at least 4 times during our stay in Truro. Has breakfast, lunch and dinner (and dessert) all under one roof. Breakfast- Went a couple times, got croissant or muffins which were very tasty. Had a good selection of hot coffee but only regular, hazelnut or decaf iced. Hear the Bfast sandwiches are great but didn't get to try them this time around Lunch/Dinner- Pizza and salads were really good. Get a slice or a whole pizza. Salad had really fresh veggies. Some of the Panini's sounded good, but again didn't get to try them. Dessert- The ice-cream was great....had about 30 flavors to choose from (I recommend the celebration cake!). Also had a cupcake one night from the bakery. It was amazing! Definitely stop here anytime of day for some delicious food!

The food is mediocre (at best), service is dismal and the floors, counters and tables are filthy. There is one single stall restroom for the entire place. I visited it five times wetting napkins to wipe down our table. Two employees stood idly by as I did this. Though I had only water and napkins to work with, I was eventually able to get it pretty clean because it took FORTY FIVE minutes for our food to be prepared. It is cheap but I wouldn't go back if it were free. I would rather have a packet of oyster crackers for dinner.

I had the pizza with pepperoni and Mushroom. It was ok but the crust could have been cooked a little more. My husband had the turkey, stuffing and cranberry panini. It satisfied him but didn't wow him. The ordering process is counter style and then you take a seat. The young man working the register lacked motivation, enthusiasm and courtesy. You get what you pay for. So overall it's a quick fix and cheap place to feed the kids but don't plan on being WOWED.

Nice to have this place out on The Outer Cape. Usually one would have to drive back to Wellfleet for a nice stop like this from Truro or Ptown. Varied menu, lots of yummy treats, friendly staff. Homemade ice cream terrific! A little confusing how to order when one first arrives, but easy enough to figure-out that the only menus on the food side are the take-out ones behind you at the door, and then you find the area you want to order-from and order. The ice cream side (yay! open late!) is on the other side of the place.

Love this place! Way more than a burger/coffee joint: Terrific breakfast, the best sandwiches, lovely people, amazing pies (and i make pies). There is often a line so be patient. Its well worth it.

I visited Savory several times when we were vacationing in Truro. Savory is a fantastic stop for coffee, tea, and breakfast treats. They serve a variety of Cape roasted blends and everything we tried was good. I could not keep away from the scones! Bacon-cheddar was amazing and the blueberry were also very good. Iced chai was pretty sweet but pretty tasty! We also came one night and had the wood fired pizza which was delicious. Unfortunately we also ordered chowder which came out cold. We ordered specialty cupcakes and hand packed ice cream for a birthday party and that was a huge hit with everyone. Definitely recommend the lemon cupcakes! Love the outdoor seating, very convenient location on rte 6 with ample parking. If you come for ice cream during the evening, be prepared to wait.

This little place has become pretty damn amazing. Order a pizza and everything on it is fresh. A spinach, mushroom and grilled chicken pizza gets you fresh baby spinach, baby portobello and actual grilled chicken. A margherita is loaded with fresh basil, ripe roma tomatoes and sliced fresh mozzarella...nothing from a can or bag tops savory's pizzas. I have had a french dip, steak n cheese, caesar, sweet potato fries, regular fries and on at least a half-dozen occasions, the black n blue burger...omg to die for. Gorgonzola and caramelized onions and I assume aged angus beef. So good rare. Nice breads and great desserts according to my dessert-eating friends. Amazing homemade ice cream...nice friendly staff that learns your name quickly, and smile when they see you. Well-run establishment and consistent quality. I drive from PTown to truro for this food. Spititus pizza a close second.

Have been coming here for breakfast items , ice cream and treats while on the cape for the last few years. Tried the pizza for the first time to take a break from the seafood this week and was pleasantly surprised. The blueberry muffins we picked up for breakfast were fresh and homemade with a lot of blueberries. Staff was really pleasant and friendlier than last time I was here too which is always a nice change and worth noting. Definitely worth trying!

The sandwiches were good, the prices were decent, most everything on the menu looked like something I'd try, and I'll be back to try the wood fired pizza. The baked goods were silly delicious (cupcakes, mini cakes, oatmeal cookies). The service WE got was a little cool and standoffish, but whatever, it's takeout, and they weren't downright unfriendly, just not that concerned you're their customer. The ice cream side folks, on the other hand, were very engaging and sweet, and their product flavors were creative and delicious!

Go here for breakfast. Order the Breaker and add carmelized onions. They have the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The Breaker: Grilled Portuguese sweet roll, linguica, eggs and cheese and please ask to add carmelized onions. You will not regret it. Plenty of seating in and out and CLEAN. I can't wait to return next year.

We had the pizza by the slice and it had some anemic toppings that were so scare they had to tell you which was which! The crust was tough and chewy and very thin. Neither of us could tell if there was even any cheese on it! Service was OK but the layout was chaotic with people bumping into each other. They do take credit cards in food section but cash only in the ice cream section. As someone else wrote, they advertise a brownie sundae but I was told they haven't had that since Memorial Day even though the bakery next door has brownies. Typical summer crunch on Cape Cod but it has gone downhill in recent years. Sorry to see a once promising place succumb to its own ego. I suspect it will just become another of those Cape restaurants that survives on the tourist turnover as it is not working to generate repeat customers.

Great place for a casual lunch or sweet snack. Order at the counter service. I split a small white pizza ($14), which was just the right size for a light lunch. Love the thin crispy crust and generous amount of spinach and roasted garlic. Plenty of outdoor seating. I'm not usually a sweets person, but their desserts look amazing! Besides a counter of pretty baked goods (croissants, muffins, etc.), they had a fridge full of beautiful individual sized cakes and such. There are two rooms connected, one for the restaurant and the other for ice cream. Huge list of ice cream flavors, both ordinary and unique...Guinness!

A delicious breakfast was ruined by an obese woman(?) with stubble for a hair cut style, tattoos on her skull (yeek!) and every part of her disgusting body and looking like a well fed gorilla, the ogre was managing the counter and refused to acknowledge the wifi was inoperative and she refused to take a simple corrective action of power cycling/rebooting the router which fixes them 90% of the time. Her reasons (falsely) included: there are three people using it right now. I looked around and no one had a phone out and absolutely no one else had a laptop. I don't know where these imaginary people were but she insisted that people were using the Wi-Fi. When I asked her to show me a person that was using it so that I could ask them how they did it... her answer was "no I'm not going to do that..I don't have time to walk out there and show you who is using it". She tried to imply that it was my fault or problem, however I was looking at a Verizon Wi-Fi hotspot nearby and able to connect to a customer login page with no issues. When I tried to connect to the Savory 2.4 open router ...it said there was an unidentified problem. My iPhone also wouldn't recognize this router. My initial point of contact was with a friendly blonde woman who told me there was no password but the Wi-Fi was sketchy lately - it was on and off. When I turned on my laptop and tried to log in, this turned out to be true. That's when I had to encounter "the beast". Her first answer was it's busy I'll have to go upstairs and turn it on and off when I get a chance. After 15 minutes I asked her had she been able to restart and that's when she told me other people were using it and there's nothing wrong with it. And she made an even read more ridiculous claim that she had already gone upstairs three times that day (it was 10am) and restarted the router. Decoded: I'm too overweight to go up a flight of stairs - don't bother me i don't care if it's working. So let's just disregard that sign we put up out on the highway with 15 inch giant white block letters that advertise our Wi-Fi, and lets not just make a little effort to make the customer happy. They had 10-15 customers during my 30 min visit. One will never be returning.

This place never disappoints! Their pizza is excellent - thin crust, great and creative toppings, crispy and chewy dough, and tastes homemade; which it is. Their ice cream is delicious - which means a lot coming from a lactose intolerant, non-ice cream fan! They have tons of awesome and clever combination and named flavors made in house. We go every night of the week each year we spend in Truro!

Despite a sign designating many flavors of shaved ice, we were told that they didn't have any. Also, salted caramel brownie ice cream was also advertised but not available- not out of supply but completely unavailable.

I ordered a soy latte and a chicken BLT sandwich, the sandwich was my own creation, since they didn't have anything quit similar on the menu. The order came in exactly the way I wanted. The only thing that I didn't loved it was the coffee, which was very weak for my taste. They also didn't have a panini machine to compress my sandwich.

As Melissa wrote, GET THE BREAKER!!! The ultimate breakfast sandwich on Cape Cod. On the very rare occasions that I am up that early, and on this end of town, that's my go-to. For those of you from not-around-here, you may find linguica a little sweet and off putting, but just remember, its just spices, it's still a metric ton of pork! I love their burgers, wraps, my favorite is the roast beast wrap, I often get that for lunch. The pizzas are second to none. I once drove one home from here to CT (for the significant other)... the smell was killing me the whole way! Do as I do, work your way down the menu... sure there may be some hit and miss... but that's life!

Great breakfast options and amazing home baked pastries & pies plus more. Everything is fresh and delicious. Lunch and dinner many great options. A little wait but worth it. Great coffee options around and they have a the newspapers you will need! Inside or outside eating. Casual and excellent.

Nice casual place to get some yummy food. Did not realize based on the reviews that this is not a table service restaurant. Not a big deal, but worth noting. You order at the counter, take a big number to your table and they bring out your food. There's outside seating, and we brought our dog with us without any issues. The menu has pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and some other things. We ordered a flat bread and spinach dip for an appetizer. It was very tasty. The flat bread is pretty much a pizza crust with no toppings. We also got a pepperoni pizza to share. The pepperoni tasted fresh and delicious, the pizza was a little chewy with a crunchy crust, so it was perfect IMO. For dessert we went to the ice cream counter and I had the Cranberry ice cream, while my husband got Coconut Almond. Both were flavorful and delicious. The "skinny" size is still pretty huge.

I wish I could review the bakery, because the items looked crazy good! The BF and I came here for the pizza and it was very good. It is brick oven, so there may be a wait. The creme de la creme is the ice cream. Let me tell you, you will fall in love. The ice cream is a work of art...pomegranate ice cream? Cranberry ice cream? Strawberry basil? Yessir! This is not your typical ice cream shack. There has to be at least 30 ice creams, so you'll scream. I screamed. We'll all scream for ice cream here. Do not miss it!

This is for the sweet escape ice cream shop side ONLY. All ice cream homemade you can see them making it, very cool. Staff on this side was very sweet and patient explaining what was in the different flavors I asked about. I got the purple cow ... Black raspberry with white chocolate and dark chocolate pieces and chocolate sprinkles. Dan got almond joy something or other for one scoop and maple bacon for the other . He said they were both delicious! $7.00 for one child size(mine I'm not big on ice cream) and one skinny size(2scoops) I thought it was reasonably priced especially for homemade. Will definitely return here

When you have a good product you can get away with some pretty lousy service. We spent the weekend nearby and visited Sweet Escapes 3 times. The GOOD: Nice, updated atmosphere, a large selection of flavors and they also serve lunch items, coffee and pizza. The BAD: We thought maybe they were just rushed when we came by the first time, and the staff behind the counter were just frazzled. The girl was insulting, but in a youthful "I'm here for the summer to make some bucks" kind of way. The ice cream was delish, so no harm, no foul. Our second visit, the line was shorter and we got the same girl. She was clearly not happy to be at work on such a beach day. Fine, they certainly do have fantastic ice cream. The third visit, we were greeted by the same girl, who was just plain insulting. But, we'll be back because the ice cream is that good. Fair is fair. Bad, bad service, but a product so good it's worth a visit.

A worthy spot to treat yourself to some ice cream. We whipped into the shop, first seeing the sign for coffee. We had a long day at the beach and needed a pick me up. Then, we walked into the ice cream shop. Initial desire for coffee diverted for a tasty cone. They had a host of flavors, making the decision a difficult one. I was able to try a few different flavors like maple bacon (too smoky for my taste), lavender fig (most unique flavor, delicious, but not what I was in the mood for), salted caramel (my #2 choice), and cookie smash. I went with the cookie smash, I couldn't resist the huuuuge chunks of oreos and sugar cookie mixed throughout. Sadly, I didn't enjoy the waffle cone -- too sweet, not waffley enough. Although, I am jaded by Hedonist is Rochester so it's a tough call. Then, I went in and grabbed a coffee, which was rich, bold, and caffeinated. I also considered grabbing a pizza too because apparently this shop has it all! The wood fired oven was cranking out crispy, thin crust pizza. Oh, that smell! Shoulda, coulda, woulda, P.S. The place has a great patio with lots of space for outside eating.

Ok, I am revising my review bc the breakfast is off the hook. Delicious latte, egg sandwiches on sweet Portuguese rolls and some of THE best muffins I've ever had - specifically the blueberry and the blueberry/cranberry. I am SO glad we found this place!!

  • laura e.

The ambiance is cool, the homemade waffle cones are yummy but the ice cream is really mediocre. They seem to have a problem with ICY ice cream which makes it watery, not smooth and creamy. I'm not sure if it's the process, equipment or what, but ice particles in your ice cream (we all had it with different flavors) just doesn't make for the rich mouthfeel of premium ice cream. We won't be back.

It is certainly a must stop. Their pizza is to die for - absolutely delicious and if you just get one of their MASSIVE slices then it is under $3. However, to get a full pizza is super pricey over $20 and the service takes awhile. Coming in on the off hours is most likely your best best for a quick easy meal. Breakfast wise they have a myriad of great options: bagels, croissants, muffins ect. Their coffee is well brewed and reasonably cheep. Ice cream wise you can't beat it in the Truro area. They have so many choices for flavors both hard and soft serve. The sizes are confusing because depending on who is serving you they all look the same. My personal favorite is the shaved ice. A huge portion of ice with homemade flavors. Try piña colada and strawberry!

This is a solid stop on Rt. 6 in an area where places like this are hard to find - meaning affordable, quick, good food that's not fried. The kind of place where there's something for everyone. I'd rate the pizza a 3, the sandwiches and paninis a 4 and the ice cream a definite 5. Ice cream flavors are beyond belief, including espresso ice cream made with beans from a local roaster (yum), and others that include fig, or pomegranate, or lavender and lots of other great things as well as the usual.

We were touring and had left Providencetown heading back to lower cape and just happened to pass this place. What a pleasant surprise. Great sandwiches with a wide variety of choices. But the real surprise was the wide selection of fresh baked goods. Wonderful place. Highly recommended.

Rating 3 - OK; I am not quite "A - Fan". Context: 2 adults, 3 kids, a saturday at 9:15 pm. Rating for: Good hours Fast service Nice outside dinning with the lights and the planter boxes. Dog friendly water bowl Many ice cream flavors (I had a sample it was good yet not so compelling; - see review on Ice Cream Sandwich where I was compelled to get a scoop). Don't go if you want: fresh chicken fingers gourmet food plan to eat inside and want comfortable seating or a cozy environment a step above fast food pizza; this is on par with fast food pizza.

The burger was a bit greasy, but it was by far the juiciest I've ever had. The hidden gem is the bake shop. The oversized Hostess cupcake is the most delectable thing I've ever eaten. Buy it! You will NOT be disappointed! Haven't had the ice cream yet - going today!

Pizza is good, Ice Cream really good, and the Scones are amazing! And bless them for being friendly and open year round. One little bit of advice to staff: Voices carry in the space, so if you are having a fun time joking back and forth with each other in the kitchen just know it sounds really loud up front and customers can hear everything you say. I've actually witnessed customers leaving after reacting to the hub-bub and noise coming from behind the counter. Don't chase people away from what is a pretty nice little eatery. Nuff said.

This place is a MUST for ice cream! We discovered this place on our second to last night and wish wed gone sooner. It was the best of all the ice cream joints we went to all week. They had so many delicious flavors to choose from. The waffle cones are what really make this place the best, though! They put something extra in there that make them Ah-mazing!!

Good flavor pizza but kids beware - the sauce has large chunks of tomatoes, very large in fact. Bakery and ice cream also available. Decent stop to satisfy all when you are this far out, but nothing too stellar.

After a long bike ride from Provincetown, this place was a delicious stop to eat and recharge. Ordered sandwiches, coffee, and desserts. The sandwiches were very good, a group of us had a variety from breakfast sandwiches to lunch sandwiches, all done well. As for dessert, the chocolate ganache cake was the best I've had in a very long time and the key lime cheesecake was very tasty. Cash only is a bit of a pain if you're not planning for it and the line can be long and slow, but otherwise a very good experience!

  • Michelle F.

Awful experience. First, you have to wait in line to order anything. That wasn't bad, I just decided to put it in. It took 45 minutes for them to even get us our pizza and it wasn't even busy. The pizza wasn't worth it. It just tasted like ordinary oven pizza that you can get anywhere. Definetly not worth waiting 45 minutes for. Also, they had dirty chairs so our backs got very dirty. I am definetly not coming back here. If you were thinking of going there, don't waste your time. Instead, I would go to the Red Barn in North Eastham. The pizza there is extraordinary and it's a much sorter wait (even when it's busy)

Review is based on the "sweet" side of the house. We have stayed in Truro multiple times and always stop at Savory & Sweet a few times for thier sweet treats. Very clean, modern and spacious place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. Friendly teenagers manning the ordering / checkout area willing to give ordering tips and are generous on the sizes. They make all the ice cream on-site (you can watch if you want) and have lots of interesting flavors that you won't find elsewhere. A personal fave is the Lavender and Fig, but have also tried the Salted Caramel, Stout (the beer style) Nut Crunch, and Guinness! You can sample the odd flavors to see if you want a full cone before buying. They make thier waffle cones on site as well (you can watch that too :) and they are amazing. Tip: Even if your kid is a big ice cream eater, you can still order the kid size. They stack it so large, I have a hard time finishing it. Other dessert options include shaved ice and baked goods. Haven't ordered, but they show the same inventiveness found on the ice cream side in terms of flavor combinations, etc. Look awesome, but one man can only eat so much dessert. Will mention (and deduct one star) for the 'savory' side of the house. I've tried to call here for pickup multiple times and always a miss/. I'm using the number on thier website and always get a busy signal or just rings and rings. Perhaps they only want a dine-in crowd, but I don't think so. Pizza is the ultimate take-out food and they need to keep the lines available for ordering.
