I am not sure why all the reviewers are so harsh. Is it the best pizza on the planet? No. Is it decent, cheap, quick, great delivery, with a huge sub, wrap and salad menu? Yes. We order from here all the time and are perfectly content. The menu is big enough that even if everyone doesn't want pizza, they always can find something they want. The guys there are friendly and patient and kind when our boys (7&5) can't decide what they want. Always friendly, always quick. What's to complain about? Great local pizza joint.

The thing I like most about the place is the menu. There's something for everyone. I like their Turkey sub and my daughter and her friends love the pizza. My wife likes their palm hearts salad (whatever that is). Plus the people are always friendly on the phone and delivery is consistently fast. I always make sure I have a coupon too though the prices are very reasonable in any case.

I love their salads! Wide variety, great size and always fresh ingredients- very easy to maintain "clean eating" with this place, plus they have multiple salads on menu with fresh avocado, which is my favorite. The goat cheese and sun dried tomato salad is one of my favorites too. Fresh smoothies on the menu are perfect snack on hot days, days! Their pizza is great too, tasty and crust that is on the thin side; I am not a fan of very doughy pizzas. Staff is always super friendly and polite and their delivery time is much appreciated, I get delivery often and delivery guys are very pleasant as well.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've been ordering from Hot Cheese for several years, and while the food has never been remarkable, the service and quick delivery generally made up for it. However, this establishment has totally gone downhill in the past year. There were significant problems with each of the last 20 orders I placed. Almost always there are items missing from my order, despite that I was charged for them. Either that, or the order is completely screwed up, with all special requests ignored, no salad dressing, or missing ingredients. This evening, however, was the last straw. First, the falafel and hummus salad they delivered had RANCID, LIQUIFIED "hummus". I've never seen anything like it. Second, the chicken and broccoli ziti had a large metal STAPLE in it, which my boyfriend discovered by biting into it. I posted a photo of the staple found in the ziti in case there was any doubt as to the veracity of my claim. Luckily, my boyfriend didn't swallow the staple and cause internal damage. When I called Hot Cheese about both of our inedible meals, they did not answer the phone even though it was 8:45, which is 15 minutes before closing time. I then walked over there to address the matter in person. I arrived 5 minutes prior to closing time, however, the restaurant was already closed. So now I'm writing this review. Thanks for the memories, Hot Cheese. You just lost a loyal customer. I will never, ever give your disgusting, poorly run establishment another dime. You're lucky that no one was injured, otherwise this attorney would have been filing a lawsuit instead of merely writing a negative yelp review.

I've been going here once every week or two for the last couple years now. Always generally ordering the same thing (chicken, broccoli and ziti) either Alfredo or garlic sauce is good as long as you ask for lite sauce. I like a few olives and croutons on the salad that comes with the dinner. I went there last night and the girl actually charged me a $1 to put 3 cut up olives and a few croutons on. I understand restaurants have to pay for all their ingredients but there is a line in the sand somewhere. What's next? Will I have to pay for the ketchup packets with my fries? I certainly won't go somewhere where someone is going to nickel and dime me. The meatball parm I tried had no flavor and the meatballs were warm at best. I think it's time for me to find a new place for pasta

I could eat pizza 7 days a week, good pizza, bad pizza, love it all. This pizza is marginal at best. I've had it probably 5 times over 5 years, same thing every time. Greek style pan pizza, not enough sauce, and not a whole lot of taste. That's really all I have to say, blah...

I had the "Mercury Burger" and it was pretty decent. Not cooked to order but whatever, the bacon was freshly cooked and delicious. Nice guys there.

Pizza was cheap but really bland and forgettable. The crust had little flavor and the sauce was nothing special. Rivaled some of the generic skating rink pizza I'd had as a kid. Once was enough, never went back.

Quick delivery and I mean quick and on time! The driver was nice and friendly! The subs are cheap so it's not going to be a huge heavy bulky sub like some other places but it was still very tasty. The cake is amazing. It is very well made and worth the money. The other order we got a while was fast and delivered quick!

We dub this place Hot Cheese Diarrhea for a reason. My gastrointestinal tract always feels like it's fighting a losing battle afterwards, yet I've ordered from here half a dozen times already (I don't know why, maybe it's the convenient online ordering system -one of two that I know in the area-). Things to avoid: the buffalo chicken wings (these are the Spartans and they rage a mean war), the pizza (these are like mercenaries, not as bad but still mean), and the steak bomb sub (these are ok, like civilians, but like civilians they don't taste that good). Things to get: their smoothies (mm pina colada and the tropical ones are good)! +1 star! Venus burger (this burger is surprisingly good, albeit really well done, and tastes kind of like Bobby's Burger Palace's Buffalo burger). +1 star! Those two above are the only things I've ordered that don't give me a tummy ache or what seems like a stomach flu. Also, for a pizza place, their pizza is terrible: the sauce is almost bitter, everything is extremely greasy, and the dough is really really bad - chewy and flat. Plus, it's super expensive for what you get!

I don't really understand what it was that I ate, and I really don't wanna know. It was kind of like a hot gelatinous mess baked on top of wet cardboard. NEVER AGAIN will I make that mistake.

Where do I begin. Excellent speed with delivery driver even had a scanner credit card machine so I didn't have to share my info over the phone. Delivery is where the good times end. This pizza is beyond terrible. My first thought upon tasting the pizza was that it tasted more like hot trash than hot cheese. The dough tastes like a prepacked dough which basically ruins the pizza from the start. The really do go heavy on the cheese which may be a plus for sum but is definately a minus for me. The added cheese makes the pizza heavy and greasy. The pizza is really cheap and you get what you pay for cheap ingredients and preparation all around. This pizza is great if you don't really care about who you are feeding (like if you are feeding a football team), but if you are just buying for your family I would suggest spending the extra money on a decent quality pizza. Go to cindy's instead or even bertucci's. This place is just aweful

Quite possibly the best sweet sauce pizza in Lynn/Swampscott Definitely gourmet, but more Greek than Italian. If you are thinking pizza like Bertucci's you are way off the mark, this is much better. Imagine Pizza Hut Style pizza with fresh, real ingedients and better sauce and crust. I can't imagine anyone not loving this pizza. My wife and I order from Hot Cheese at least once a week.

I really wanted to like this place. I've now gotten pizza from them twice, and though I like the dough, the pizza has the distinction of being the greasiest pizza I've ever eaten. In fact, I didn't know it was possible for pizza to be that greasy, and wonder exactly what they're doing to make it so. I had to use 3 paper towels on each slice to mop up some of the grease. Yet another north shore place that is half-assing it big-time. So disappointing. I won't be going back.

I have yet to try their pizza so I can't comment on that, but I have gotten subs and appetizers twice and I thought they were excellent both times. Extremely prompt delivery and reasonable prices, I will continue to order form here and. I will have to try the pizza, but even if it is sub par I will still go there for the sandwiches.
