4 stars for taste/price factor. The only thing that kinda bugged me is the way they stored and handled food. Maybe its like that with all Chinese restaurants but the back is usually closed off so you can't see it. The thought of spare ribs sitting half cooked in an open plastic bucket "almost" ruined it for me. But the food was great and no stomach aches.

This was the first restaurant we saw when we moved to the area and we were so excited. The prices were cheap and the food came fast, unfortunately it was the worst chinese food we've ever had in our existence. The fried rice was hard. I swear the general gao's chicken had no chicken, more like breaded pencil erasers. The peking ravioli were edible, but not good enough to order from here again. Whenever we drive by and see people eating in there, it pressures us to give Hong Kong City a second chance, but we haven't done it yet. We order from Fortune House instead. They're more expensive, but at least the food is good.

I was working right around the corner from this place and I had to give it a shot. So this was the first time I ate at this place and i was impressed. The food was fresh and tasty not to mention at a very good price. I tried the China Moon down the street and it doesn't even come close. I got a luncheon special Fried Rice, Chicken Wings, Chicken Fingers and Bonless Ribs $6.25 plus tax I couldn't finish it I ended up eating half for lunch and later as a snack when I got home from being out. The man that waited on me was very friendly not something you see everyday. I wish this place was a little closer to where I live I would get take out here a lot!

The food was so bad, had no taste. Smelled like shit. I got something with the sauce and the sauce was dripping everywhere on the table and rice were so hard. Sucked so bad deff don't recommend it. My friend went in her car right across the street as I stayed waiting for her because she forgot her wallet and they chased her and started speaking in a different language it was so embarrassing we didn't even finish the food. We paid and left.

Ordered pork fried rice with lobster sauce and received a to go box full of rice and what looked like refried beans. No veggies just rice and sauce that tasted like nothing

Placed a small order on a Thursday night . The place is 10 min down the street and it took 1.25 hrs to deliver food. We called after an hr to check on the food and they said driver was stuck in traffic! Traffic in Stoneham at 7:30???? Come on now! Then the food arrives and wants money. Well we used a credit card over the phone an hr ago. So now the driver has to call the place and verify the card... Which someone forgot to process ? If you're late, you're late, but don't give us a horrible excuse.

Pay no mind to the 1 and 2 star reviews. Just moved down the street. Been hesitant on ordering here due to some of the bad reviews. Based on what I ordered the price and food were the best in Stoneham. I did take out. Small chicken wing Small house fried rice Small crab rangoons Small beef tiryaki All for under 30 bucks. I think it was 25ish but cant remember. Had dinner and then lunch the next day. Good americanized chinese. Not sure why people are giving such crap reviews so figured Id share my experience which was great.

It took them over an hour to get to us. The food was disgusting and hardly edible. The Lo main hardly had any noodles and the kung pao chicken had almost no chicken and all peanuts and other unidentifiable ingredients in it. GO ELSEWHERE

Hong Kong City has been delicious every time we've ordered from them. We always get take-out, and they are usually pretty quick. I much prefer them over Fortune House, which is greasier and messes up orders more often.

My Sunday ritual usually consists of sitting on my big A all day and pigging out on greasy chinese food. It's just what I do. I usually have a go to in melrose, however, I had an interest in branching out. Enter, this place... I ordered pork lomein, chicken wings, and dumplings. The food was delicious and fresh. And they give you pretty large portions. Needless to say, I will be ordering here again. Great food and quick delivery!

This is my favorite Chinese food place in Stoneham. Good food at low price they have delivery and killer orange chicken and crab ragoons. I love the call ahead option. They have a great service and better food. See you new years.

Really and truly... not good. Used to be my favorite before they burned down. Ordered in one night about a month ago to give them another shot.. everything I ordered except the white rice wreaked and tasted like fish. I did not order any fish. Also got beef fried rice and that tasted like a burnt saute pan. Mmm char. Steak teriyaki was strange and gooey.. after a couple of forced bites it all went into the garbage. SATO or Tulip from now on.

Barely edible Americanized Chinese food. It all tastes like brown sauce. Broccoli is in brown sauce soup. And it tastes like nothing. Chicken was very over cooked. Won't go back.

OMG! Unreal food! I've been going here for years and even though I've moved to Woburn and now live in Malden, I come here as often as possible! The older lady who I see working there all the time is soooo sweet! I just want to hug her!! If u like Chinese take out this place is the best! You HAVE to try the chicken wings, Singapore rice noodles and won ton soup! Best I've ever had and I get it every time! Thanks for the years Of friendly service!

Yes, the only place to get good Chinese take-out in Stoneham. Hands down. They've been in town forever, it's great. Great crab rangoons and boneless spear-ribs and meat sticks and yaaah you name it. I would totally recommend Hong Kong to anyone. Delivery is pretty speedy but picking up is quick too, even when you go there and order its all good.

I've lived in Stoneham for over 2 years now and tried about 7 different chinese food joints. This is the only one I go back to. The people are nice, delivery is quick, and they always hook it up with great food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
