This is an updated review from the 2-stars I left 9 months ago. We went back to give Mauro's Village Cafe another try for breakfast after being underwhelmed the last time we were there. Shawn, the new owner, had contacted me and assured me they were making an effort to improve the quality of their offerings , and sure enough, the breakfast we had this morning was much better. Well, but not overly-seasoned home fries (not deep-fried), link sausage (not the Jimmy Dean patties), and well-prepared eggs with sourdough toast. Terrific service by the young server at the counter. Left there satisfied, and will be back again.

A regular spot for a good quick lunch. Waitresses are friendly, food is good, and prices are reasonable. Exactly what a cafe should be!

Mauro's cafe has undergone a lot of changes in the past few months and it's now better then ever! Nothing beats their French toast and they have great coffee too! We always take a cup to go too! It's also nice to have a spot close by to stop in and grab a sub or salad to go when we're in a hurry. Great job Mauro's! Keep up the good work

This is such a great place and my family has been coming here for years. Under new management, it's gotten even better in the last three months. It's a great place to come for diner food but it's customer service makes it good for lunch as well! When we come here for breakfast we usually get The Mauros special which is home fries bacon scrambled eggs and pancakes.

Wow, they have seriously upgraded their menu. Lots of great items, healthy choices, and still all of the deli standards too. The new Boarshead deli meats are yummy. Good coffee--not "Red Barn" but very good. The place still has the retro neighborhood feel with the counter area (which I like) but the food is updated. They also now have a grab and go section--today I had a large fruit cup for $3--it was perfect. I can walk from work, so I am thrilled to have a good neighborhood option.

You seat yourself at this restaurant so sometimes you don't get served right away but once you do the waitresses are very friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. The food is usually pretty good, however, one time I got an undercooked pancake. But everything else is very good and the price is reasonable!

Just moved into town . Been here a few times. Food good service spotty Prices are exactly what you would expect in Southboro Anyone who complains about the price needs to go places other than McDonald's once in a while Owner if you are reading this please clean your sidewalks better-you have a lawsuit waiting to happen sitting out in front of your restaurant

Stopped in for breakfast and snagged seats at the counter (our favorite spot hands down everywhere we go!). Young man behind the counter immediately greeted us, offering beverages and a smile. Other counter staffers were also very friendly and attentive. Food took a while, but nothing outrageous. Poached eggs were perfect, sour dough toast standard with just a dab of butter, was offered home fries either grilled or deep fried (chose grilled), and coffee was decent with fast refill offers. Full house so very loud, but all in all would definitely return if in the neighborhood!

Over priced and the food is good in a pinch but I wouldn't go there other wise

Consistently good breakfast. Diner style coffee, bottomless cup. Very good home fries and recently added homemade hash. A little pricy $40 (including tip) for three breakfasts. Waitstaff is friendly, "The Spa" has a nice hometown feel.

Had high hopes for this restaurant. The menu and prices were great. The food ordered, not so much. Everything seemed to be premade, pre-ready, or pre-cooked. Nothing appeared to be made from scratch (of what was ordered).

Not bad. It's your typical breakfast/lunch diner. The food is good and service is quick.
