Really liked everything about this place. Went here because we had a $25 groupon but we definitely still would have tried it even if we didn't. The sushi was very fresh and delicious. House fried rice was a generous portion and the miso soup was hot and yummy too! Also had a glass of sangria that was good. The wait staff was very attentive and kept our waters full without us having to ask. The bathrooms were super clean and the whole interior was nicely decorated. We will definitely be returning.

This place has really good sushi and Thai! I've been here twice and have not been let down, service is awesome too! I've tried a bunch of Asian places in Boston/cambridge/Brighton- this place just has really good quality food! Highly recommended.

So good! Two friends and I went for a late lunch last Sunday. The place was empty when got there, around 2pm, but a few other tables came in while we were there. We ordered just about one of everything...exaggerating a bit, but we did order a couple of apps, at least 5 different maki rolls, and the mongolian beef. Everything was fresh and so delicious, and I'll definitely be going back again. We had a Groupon too which was a great deal also.

My fiancé and I found a groupon for ShoYu and decided to give it a try last night. The sushi was absolutely incredible. Some of the best I've ever had! We got the Queen roll, King roll, Boston and Hawaii! The coconut sauce on the Boston maki is delicious! The staff was very friendly, and when we ordered a kettle of green tea, they refilled the kettle without us having to ask. The presentation is beautiful and it's clear that the sushi chef knows what he's doing. The veggie tempura was also delicious. They've only been open for 2 months and the restaurant deserves more than two tables on a Friday night so PLEASE try this please out.

Ordered takeout. Food was ready in a timely fashion. I showed up and it was right there waiting. I like that the restaurant is nestled in a strip mall on route 1. I almost drove past it because I was zipping down route 1 listening to some great tunes (it was a nice evening that called for some house music...or was it Pink Floyd?) I digress. Anyway, I stroll into the joint and like I stated earlier, the food was ready, packaged into a nicely stapled brown bag. Not just any brown bag mind you, but the kind you can only find in Chinese food restaurants. You know the ones I'm talking about...very sturdy and solid; they give you the feeling that even if you dropped the merchandise on the way to the car nothing would spill or split. Driving home with the savory, mouthwatering aromas wafting from the package beside me made me drive that much faster so I could enjoy the succulent morsels of General Gao's chicken and Crab Rangoon that much sooner. Or, perhaps I should have slowed down so as to have those delicious smells all to myself. Pink Floyd be damned (or was it house music?)! Pulling into my driveway I realize that I will have to share this heaven sent meal with others. Part of me is OK with that, the other... not so much. I had fleeting thoughts of backing out and driving off into the sunset or fabricating a story about being mugged for the food, or kidnapped by aliens. Neither of which would anyone believe. Resigned to sharing I enter my house, walk into the kitchen and see that my wife has set the table, fully expecting to partake in this repast. Well, I had news for her: "hey babe, the weirdest thing happened on the way home. Some aliens landed and took our food. Can you believe those guys?!?!" "That's nice honey", she retorts. "I can smell the food. It smells wonderful. Now open the bag." With the bag on the table and both sets of eyes on it like Indiana Jones in The Raiders of the Lost Ark when he sees the golden statuette and replaces it with a bag of sand, we pounce and yet paying full respect to the quality that is THE brown bag, gently open the top and pry apart the staples. With the bag open we peered inside. The goods were packed with perfection. There were no signs of leaking which means they took care in putting the food together. The duck sauce, soy sauce, hot mustard, crispy noodles and fortune cookies were enshrined in a plastic bag and placed nicely to the side of the containers. There was no cross contamination. There was no mingling of sauces. With the preamble leading up to the food, one can only hope, with fingers crossed, the food tastes as great as it is packaged and as wonderful as it smells. Well my friends, the food was fantastic! Pork fried rice, chicken lo me in (I always get confused between lo mein and chow mein and Google doesn't help my memory because when you Google it and the pictures pop up in your screen you are so damn hangry that it all looks good so you order the lo mein). The general Gao's chicken was sublime. The lo mein with the crispy noodles was perfection. I mean you really need the crispy noodles to offset the veggies. Mix it with just a hint of hot mustard and duck sauce and you WILL want a cigarette after. Just saying. To wrap this up in a nutshell...the food is wicked good. You will not be disappointed. If you are then I suggest some Pink Floyd... or house music.

We ordered food for pick up on a Tuesday night. It was ready on time. We ordered a seaweed salad, spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, and Saugus Maki. The food was all really good - solid sushi, good ingredients, nicely rolled, no bad surprises, and flavorful.

Very good! Sashimi are fresh. I ordered a Japanese fired rice and it tasted real good, but the size was just too big for me. ;) good to be here.

After a long day we were craving some sushi. We just moved to the area and decided to try this place since they deliver. We ordered a ton of food and everything was AMAZING. They also said about 45 mins for delivery which only turned out to be about 25. Couldn't have been a better experience! This will be our go to sushi place

The sushi is pretty decent. The salmon melts in your mouth just the way i like it...the bad thing is it's pretty pricy...the specialty rolls are boston prices..yikes.. if i get another groupon i would come :) My server was pleasant though...only my bf and i when we went at 6pm on a weekday..then another couple came a bit later.

My boyfriend doesn't eat fish and sometimes this can be a problem when we go out to a sushi restaurant. Today we were searching for a place to have lunch so we decided to give Shoyu a try. I am so glad we did! Excellent food and service. Clean place, nice music, fresh and delicious sushi! Our waitress Charlotte was adorable.. She was really patient and willing to help us choose something we would like. She suggested a Tempura Pillows and it tasted like heaven! She also suggested one of her "favorite" maki with lobster inside and torched scallop and cheese on top (i don't remember the name) .. So so good! We also had a Spicy Seafood Maki and a Snow Mountain Maki. My boyfriend asked for a special maki with shrimp, cream cheese and avocado inside and the whole roll deep fried like a tempura roll.. And the sushi chefs made it happen! Everything was delicious! Thank you Charlotte and the Shoyu staff for a pleasant afternoon. We will definitely be back soon.

We got a menu with a discount coupon attached to in it in the mail and decided to give this place a try. I think because the place is new, we had the place all to ourselves which worried us a little. The wait staffs there are very attentive. We ordered a few order of sushi, the bonchon chicken appetizer, and the garlic noodle. Everything we ordered were delicious. We will definitely come here more often when we don't want to track out to Chinatown.

I just went here too and felt compelled to write a review. I was early for an appointment in this plaza and stopped into Shoyu to see if I could get some sushi and hot sake real quick so I wouldn't be late. I was so pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome of all staff and how quickly and efficiently they served me. I am picky about sushi too and it was very very good. They even had a pretty flower on my plate which was such a nice touch. And they graciously made sure I was able to finish and leave on time, serving me quick and allowing me to pay fast, without rushing me on their own. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because of the location but the rest was excellent. I will definitely go back.

A groupon deal brought me here this evening. Excellent food and atmosphere. We went for the Pu Pu Platter for 2, Egg Foo Young and diet cokes. This was the best chinese food I have had in a long time. Very fresh ingredients and the flavors were spot on. I can't wait to go back. Loved the dining room....everything is brand sparkly new and so very clean. Prices are very reasonable. Service was excellent. I live in the area and have eaten at all the area chinese establishment's.....this one is now my favorite. I will be back with friends!

This restaurant by far is the best Japanese/Chinese restaurant of the north shore. The place is clean, the food is amazing and the staff/owners are super friendly. The sushi is on point, the rolls selection was to our liking. We started with a crab ragoon appetizer which was good, then my girl and I shared a snow mountain roll and a Christmas Maki and they were both great, not too big not too small. In addition we also ordered the Beef Chow Fun which was super filling and great tasting. I most definitely recommend this low key spot, its worth the short drive and the prices are not bad at all...

We decided to dine at Shoyu tonight and boy am I glad that I can FINALLY get FANTASTIC Chinese food in Saugus! My boyfriend had a few different kids of sushi, which he loved and he said was very fresh. In addition, we ordered a PUPU platter and the pork fried rice. The rice was awesome, you can tell it is fresh made when ordered and ALL of the appetizers on the PUPU platter were phenomenal! The chicken wings were so tasty, the boneless ribs were very lean, you could actually eat the entire piece without having to pull the fat off of them like in some other places. The teriyaki was also very tasty and tender and OMG, the crab rangoons were incredible!! Not to mention, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Sonia (one of the owners) came by the table to say hello, and we let her know that this was the best Chinese food/sushi that we have had in a while. Bottom line, if you want fresh, tasty made to order food, give Shoyu a try, you will not be disappointed!!! As soon as I got in the car, I started texting friend/family to let them to they have to try this place!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
