Bewarned- not gluten- free friendly. Was told that there was gluten in the rice( the first I have ever heard of when ordering sushi). Friends told me Their sushi was ok- paying more for the ambiance. Couches were fun. Great Beautiful one drink.

The first 4 items we tried to order they were out of, so we had gyoza (pretty good) and spring roll (pretty good). The waiter got our drinks order wrong, but we liked him anyway (even though he was somewhat distracted by some good looking guys that came in). Then we had OK sushi, not too great, not too bad, sort of diner level sushi. The space is big and a bit impersonal. Probably wouldn't go back though.

Great sushi surprise in PTown. We got a boat and there were rolls on it that I've never seen before. The fish tasted fresh and were like butter. Our server, Justin, was really good. I would definitely come back again.

Friends have raved about Saki so my expectations were high, but the food did not quite measure up. Some of the maki were over-seasoned and needlessly complicated: eel sauce and tobiko were everywhere. Some of the sashimi was questionable; the albacore in particular tasted as if it had been around a while. Overall the food was decent, but not of the five star quality I was lead to believe.

My wife and I had dinner on Memorial Day. The hostess was gracious and helpful. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken and served very quickly. We got the vegetarian summer roll, edamame, and two vegetarian sushi rolls. They were all fresh and tasty. The vegetable tempura was as good as I've had it outside Japan. The batter was light and not at all greasy. The vegetables were done, not raw or overcooked. My wife'a stir fry over soba noodles was similarly well prepared. It could have used a little more tofu, but that's our only criticism. Out waitress was attentive without being intrusive. The organic sake was terrific. We'll be back.

The food was delicious. Very fresh tasting and presented beautifully on the plate. The servers were a tad bit over friendly. My friend and I felt like we couldn't get a moment alone. Usually, attentive servers are a must. It was just too much. The food came out quickly but we felt as though we were being rushed. I recommend the spicy crunchy scallop roll as well as the avocado crab salad.

Our Favorite resturant in Ptown so far. We've taken many sets of friends there many times. Janet the hostess/ manager is the best! Food is amazing and so is the service and presentation. A great people watching place!

I love Saki! It is by far my favorite restaurant in Provincetown. The sushi is the best I have ever had including all the sushi places I visited in my 18 years living in San Francisco, a sushi paradise. I go to Saki regularly and I have never experienced a restaurant that is so consistently excellent not just in food but also service. Janet, the manager, is welcoming, professional and always takes good care of every single person who sets foot in the place. I own a gallery in town and I am constantly asked by visitors where they should eat. Saki is always the first place I recommend. I am a local and know many of the restaurants on the Outer Cape and Saki is one of the best in the area, if not the best. Some of my favorites are the albacore ngiri. It's topped with a mix of ginger and scallion that makes the already creamy delicious albacore even better. The spicy scallop roll is to die for as is the green dragon - shrimp tempura and avocado. If you love tuna, the tuna lover is great. The behia is tempura sweet potato that is yummy! I have never had anything there I didn't like. They also have a good selection of other japanese and asian fair as well as steaks. The ambience is great and the bar mixes up great cocktails. What more could you ask for?

Best dining experience in Provincetown! Saki is the embodiment of great food, amazing atmosphere( converted Methodist church) and a staff that truly is hand picked by the best and conscientious general manager. She truly has her "heart and soul" in the operation. We absolutely love the sushi and sashimi, but the Tokyo Tower is to die for!

Only been here once, but I'm sure I'll go back. We ordered a variety of sushi, enough for four, and was not disappointed. The environment was different, a converted Methodist church, and was very upscale. We were two couples. While the girls were parking the car, us men went off in search of this place. Down an alley, up a flight of stairs and we're in. We told the hostess that we were waiting for our women and she said "that's ok if you guys are out on a date". You have to know P-town! It was funnier after a few drinks. update: Been here several times. I'll keep coming back.

For someone that eats a butt ton of sushi.... this place is near the top! Their quality is perfection, the artistry of the sushi near the best of what i have had. One of the best "spaces" in PTOWN to eat. Open, cool, hip.... not sure the trendy words,,, but this place is awesome. Check it out.

One star for the stupid skank that hosts. We made a reservation online in the afternoon. We showed up, and she said she was too busy listening to music to check the reservations. She said she can't listen to music and pull up reservations at the same time. UMMM, it's your job dumbass. We requested a 7 PM table. She said she could seat us at 9:15. We told her to forget it. Definitely won't be back next year. Only a fool employs an idiot like this.

This former Methodist church makes for one the best dining room in all of town! You might not feel like you're on the Cape, but that'll be okay. It's cool/trendy without being too over the top. (You can peer out the 30-foot high windows at the newly renovated town hall next door or gaze at the tree tops on Commercial St. if after a few drinks you want to make sure you're still in P-town.) Sushi is great. Variety, taste, freshness. Docked one star for the non-sushi selections: Thai chicken sticks were tasteless, chicken app. and honey glazed ribs had too much Chinese five-spice powder for my liking (I think it's the anise in the mixture that doesn't do it for me?). Waiter was nice enough, but seemed tweaked-out on something--or just wanted to act that way.

We had heard from other guests at the Carpe Diem Inn & Spa about Saki and how wonderful it is. Let me start with the fact that my life partner does not like sushi (or at least he claimed to prior to eating here). Saki is located within a converted Methodist church and outside of the high ceilings, large windows, and wide open space you would never know. Very understated décor, effortless comfort, and reclaimed wood tables and bars. Very nice mix of wonderfully generous portions of sushi, rolls, sashimi, and Thai food. The staff was great, the manager/hostess very gracious and attentive, and the owner aware of what was going on while working behind the sushi bar. He had the Green Dragon (shrimp tempura, topped w/ avocado), Pad Thai (shrimp), and I had the Spicy tuna (tuna, tempura crumb, spicy mayo). And in the end the bill was less than $100 for dinner.

Heaven knows how much we love our sushi and I was excited about trying Saki, but it just didn't measure up. Pros: The restaurant is beautiful and has great vibe. Our waiter was a doll and tried his best to be accomodating under the circumstances. The yellowtail had fabulous flavor and overall, the fish seemed very fresh. Cons: The hostess didn't change our reservation to another time as requested so it caused some confusion when we arrived. My biggest disappointment was the chefs unwillingness to accomodate people with allergies. Get with the program Saki, it's the 21st century and a lot of people have allergies!!!!!! Will I go back? Maybe. If I find myself in Provincetown again craving sushi/sashimi then I might go in, but I won't go out of my way.

To the left of town hall, you will find a manic pizza place and a loud looking Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream store. To the right of b&j there is long candle-lit walkway that circles up a flight of stairs that will lead you directly into the restaurant (a renovated church). I've rated SAKI the best restaurant in Provincetown . I would like you to experience every inch of this magical space on your own so I will leave the reservations up to you.

What a wonderful surprise! Saki sits back off the madness of Commercial Street, down a darkish corridor and up a flight of stairs, into... one of the loveliest rooms in Provincetown. A converted Methodist church, Saki's high ceilings, understated contemprorary decor, and general air of effortless comfort set it apart from many of the town's often crowded, hectic, or minute eateries. And the food! Perfectly fresh, inventive, and generously portioned sushi, rolls, and sashimi; what looked like excellent, equally interesting Thai; and a full bar to boot (one dominated by the fun mural of flying saki bottles that sets the room's tone). I really appreciated the menu's wide range of different and creative choices that deftly avoids the kitschy or tacky (the ladybug roll, topped with a half cherry tomato and a dab of black caviar, is about as far out as it gets). Instead, it's a nice classic mix, which fits the overall mood of the place beautifully. Janet, manager/hostess extraordinaire, sets the tone, the rest of the staff follows her first-rate example, and the result is a relaxed, comfortable haven, equally good for a couple or a (non rowdy) crowd. That on top of all that the bill is surprisingly non-painful (we had more than we ought to have eaten, plus drinks, for $120 for two) just makes Saki that much better. Do try: pillowy, delicious shu mai dumplings; the aforementioned ladybug roll; the spicy scallop roll. If you have the discipline, save room for the over-the-top chocolate cake.

One of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. The service was great, the decor was tasteful, the atmosphere was relaxing, and most importantly, the food was excellent. While it was a little pricey, for what you get, the price is great. The Red Sox roll was the best sushi roll I've ever had, and the sushi itself was incredible. No complaints, if you like sushi, you have to try this place. PS: The restaurant lives up to it's name and has an excellent selection of sake for those who enjoy it. I'd rather stick to beer, but the sake selection was impressive.

The most beautiful place we ate in all week in P-town. Another reviewer described the decor as "Miami Beach" but I personally would say "LA." And by that I mean the best of LA. Huge, wooden tables constructed of antique wood. Particularly beautiful lighting. Very high ceilings, creating an airy, light room. The only off notes are the two large LCD TV screens on the far side of the restaurant. They're not so bad that they wreck this otherwise gorgeous room, but they are a distraction if you're facing them from your seat. The sushi was nice - fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable. I'd definitely return.

The food at this place is simply to die for. Hands down the best sushi I've ever had. It's a little hard to find (my boyfriend and I walked right by it the first time) but the interior is very sheek and modern complete with what I called "elevator techno music". We were sat upstairs in the loft area which I recommend, although the lounge couches on the main floor by the bar looked super comfortable. For our appetizer we got the dumplings which is Saki's version of potstickers. I've had a lot of potstickers since they are my boyfriends favorite appetizer, and we both agreed that they were hands down the best we had ever had. For dinner we split vegetable tempura , spicy crab sushi, and fried lobster sushi which was one of specials of the day. Each was heavenly and I highly recommend each of them. The only reason why I gave Saki four stars instead of five was because our waiter was really off that night. He never came back to take another drink order even though I had asked, served me a drink that was meant for the table next to us, and never offered us dessert. That being said, I will definitely be returning to Saki, hopefully sooner than later! I'd love to be able to give it the five stars it deserves.

Great Sushi, great service and really cool space, a definite must for any sushi fan. I had my doubts about a sushi restaurant in Ptown but was really pleasantly surprised. The hostess and waitstaff were great and super outgoing/friendly. The seaweed salad was fresh and delicious (hard item to find done right) and the sushi/sashimi were tasty and fresh. The second best part was the space itself, it has super high ceilings and used to be an old church. Really cool!

Great ambience, located in a former church building next to Town Hall, we ordered sushi sushimi combo 38 peices, all fresh and great selection by the shef. They have a great selection of sake too. Great decor, wooden tables and friendly service, definitely go there when in Ptown.

Food and service were first-rate, and the atmosphere was exquisite. The server helped me pick some sake to with my meal, and it was the first time I've ever truly enjoyed the stuff. The sushi rolls themselves were both delicious and works of art. Our chicken lollipops were tasty and attracted a number of comments from fellow diners. Despite a few comments here about it being expensive, I didn't find it egregiously so considering the town this is in....and sushi, which tends to the pricey side to begin with. Could get a very decent dinner here for under $30 a head, which is more than you can say for a lot of nice p-town joints.

I have to say the food is outstanding here, but the service is awful. Not so much the waiters or waitresses, but the hostess was horrible. The last time I ate here, I called to make a reservation and the hostess said I didn't need one and it wasn't very busy during the off season. When I arrived I gave the hostess my name and she told me I'd have to wait about 45 minutes for a table. I was slightly annoyed, but I figured these things happen and places get busy. I let her know I'd be getting a drink on the deck in the mean time. I waited about an hour and 15 minutes and went in to check on the table. She said it wasn't ready yet. I sat at the bar inside of Sake and had another drink. There were about 4 dirty tables available that just needed to be cleaned. The hostess obviously couldn't be bothered to clear any of them and had to sit an chat with other patrons. When I say sit, I literally mean she sat with them at their tables and chatted. Well, after she got around to clearing a table, which was about 15 minutes later, she sat us down... We waited another 15 minutes to even get a menu... Worst service everrrrr. It's really too bad this crappy hostess ruined my experience here because I did enjoy the food... Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Simply put, Saki is one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever eaten at. After living just outside of NYC for the last 12 years, I've eaten at quite a few. If you love sushi, you must try the albacore. It just melts in your mouth. The space is huge and laid out in a very unique and inviting set-up. I can't wait to go back!

I want to like Saki, i really do. A cool sushi place in an old Methodist church? It has all the makings of a cool restaurant, but ugh..... it just falls short.... We had reservations and were stuck in the back corner by a wait station, which isn't fun, and being the back we got Inattentive service (Water refills? Hello?) and it's pretty pricey -- even for P'Town. The sushi ranges from good, to pretty great, but the super-ultra-salty soy sauce was a turnoff. Huge high ceiling space need moor "oomph" maybe some banners across the ceiling, it just seems a little like... well, a former church that wasn't transformed much. I want to like this place much more than i do.

HORRIBLE horrible place. Made a reservation for 8:45, showed up at 8:30 and didn't even get seated until a few minutes after 9. What's the point of making a reservation? The hostess was really rude and only gave us a table after I kept asking her how much longer it'll take. Our waiter was really absent-minded as well. The service was pretty bad, and it took forever for him to bring us water. They were only good at bringing us the check. The food is mediocre. Okay for price and I guess it's the only Asian restaurant that Provincetown has to offer.

So what if I told you that there was an affordable (and somewhat sceney-looking) sushi place above Ben and Jerry's?? Yeah I couldn't believe it either. I have been going to Ptown for three years now and was finally introduced. We had a large party of 12 and they worked some magic and seated us right away around 6pm on a weekend. While their drinks won't be bringing us back, their sushi was quite delicious. I had an order of the spicy tuna roll and the spicy salmon roll and both were very tasty. It was also enough food to satisfy me--even after a couple drinks from afternoon tea. In addition to this restaurant having friendly service, a great vibe, and flavorful sushi, was the fact that it didn't break the bank. For those two rolls, I got out of there with $25 including tax and tip, which is very reasonable considering Ptown pricing. Overall, this place has quickly become one of my favorites in the area and I look forward to going back again next time I'm in town.

Nice space and good food. The only complaint was that the edame was over-cooked to the point of mushy. Four of us each had cooked entrees, no sushi. Nothing special here, but nothing that would keep me away either. I'll definitly try the sushi or sashimi next time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Oddly, there was no green tea or ginger ice cream. With a Ben & Jerry's right down stairs, we opted for having our desert there.

And we walked in tonight having a reservation for four and was greeted by the most rude host one could possibly imagine. She informed us that I'm sure she doesn't our jobs and therefore we cannot possibly understand hers or why we would not want to sit exactly right at the entrance of a very crowded post area. We had a very good but pricey meal with quite good service that was just fine but a little slow given the fact that the hostess told us we had to be out of that table within an hour. After we asked our very nice server if we could speak to the manager...... We found out that the incredibly rude hostess is also a manager. wOw! I have been a bartender and server for many years and also involved in the restaurant industry for many years and have never been greeted so rudely in a restaurant which means I understand and usually very forgiving of many situations. Hopefully the owner will do something about this.

Sushi/Asian fusion in a very cool space. We tried the monkey brains and poppers for appetizers, huge and stuffed with various fillings. Very rich and too much going on. The spider roll was good as expected, the spicy tuna roll more of a tartare rolled in rice than pieces of tuna. Couldn't find maguro on the menu. The papaya salad was great, the avocado salad a bit too creamy for my taste. Our server was excellent, pouring our cocktails right at the table. They even went out and got a burger for our son at a neighboring restaurant after disclosing that the burger listed on their menu was not being offered that night. Very accommodating, not sure they could offer that in high season, but was impressed with their flexibility. A nice departure from the regular seafood places on Commercial Street.

Wonderful ambiance - great actually: 4 stars But strictly OK food: 3 stars A bit on the expensive side for sure: 2 stars Great drinks: 4 stars Overall: 3.5 stars I had such mixed feelings about this place given my first time (last week). It was a constant left and right like the swinging of the pendulum and at the end of my dining experience, I felt so indecisive whether I liked this place or not; almost as if my zodiac sign had changed to Libra. But, it is definitely on my list of "Try it again" I got the Summertime in Tokyo which was a refreshing drink - really great given the heat outside. For Apps, I had the chicken gyoza. Very OK. For my rolls, I had to go for the Jala-Hama because I wanted to compare the jalapeno on top to something (heavenly spicy sexy roll) similar I had in Vegas. But this one had no comparison to that. Something was missing. The combination of crabstick and avocado was wrong and didn't work with the subtle heat of the jalapeno. And to go with it the Provincetown roll - again, sushi chefs or whoever creates the combination for a roll should take risks and be spot on if trying to be super adventurous. For someone who eats a lot of sushi and is definitely not a snob, it either works or it does not. In this case - it did not. The combination of ingredients didn't work for me. But I cannot give anything less than 3 stars because it was not bad for a sushi lover. Others in my dinner party were happy with what they got but all of us left with a common sentiment - "for the price, it was OK. Expensive but OK." And that's why I will try and come back and give it another shot (definitely different rolls unless the menu has changed next season).

This is a hard one to review. On the one hand, they mix a mighty fine cocktail and their sexy, sleek interior makes for a gorgeous evening. On the other hand, I found their sushi just 'ok'. I mean, it wasn't bad. The fish was fresh and lovely. The rolls themselves, though, *shrugs* meh. My recommendation: Go for before dinner cocktails--maybe an appetizer or two. Or, head down for a nightcap. Their cocktails and ambiance are definitely worth the trip. But, the sushi? Skip it.

What did these other yelpers eat?!!? are they from cities with no Japanese/Thai food?!? between me and my GF, we ordered three different rolls, the thai soup, chicken lettuce wraps and the drunken noodle entree. the lettuce wraps were a solid OK... not at all spicy- far too sweet... a little soy sauce went a long way with those. the thai soup was Meh at best. the sushi and drunken noodle dish had to have been some of the worst food i've had in a while. flavorless and completely spice-less (even though i made a point to order it very very spicy)... it was really heartbreaking to pay that kind of $$$ for what we ate. really, my local chinese take out shop does a better spicy tuna roll. shockingly boring food. you can do so much better elsewhere in Ptown.

Our party of three almost left upon entering based on where we were initially seated even after having made telephone reservations weeks prior (woman on the phone made a joking reference to being an AOL survivor. Haha!). First, she tried to seat us at the sushi bar (umm..no..) then in the middle of the communal table where no one else was seated, even though there were several booths and tables available. Ok, on to the drink, food and service... Drinks.....mispour of passion fruit martini over olives meant for a dirty martini. Food.....ordered the Tom Yum Goong (Thai soup) which was a clear departure from authenticity. It was really just miso soup with one shrimp. Ma-poi chicken was really good. I personally also enjoyed the lobster tempura roll, companion liked the spider roll. Other companion ordered the spicy tuna roll but felt it was more like a tartar which was unexpected. It was ok at best. Service....he was friendly, but inattentive. Took our order, and didn't see him again until the very end of our meal when one person requested another martini. Speaking of, highly recommend the Summertime in Tokyo.....

Said no one ever: "Let's go out for sushi, and I hope the wait staff are SUPER surly and horrible, they withhold your food while it sits on the sushi bar for 40 minutes until the rice dries into something akin to pea gravel, and their nast-o fish is inedible and mealy. I hope this outing results in starvation, disgust, and emotional anguish." That's the story at Saki. Holy freaking geez, avoid this god-forsaken establishment. If you want your food to taste reasonable or good: fuhgettaboutit at Saki, go to the Lobster Pot like every other person in P-Town. You have to wait forever to get in, but at least you don't leave the place starving and angry. If you want your food delivered in a moderately fresh state: they don't do that here. Expect dried-up Nast. If you want the wait staff to treat you like you're not the biggest pain in their neck that has ever existed: sorry, you can't go to Saki. And you know, really, who cares if the wait staff are mean, right? But when everything else is also unacceptable, and you're spending a small fortune for the enormous delay on your bad food, emotional abuse from the waitress just stings a little more. And finally, If you have celiac: they will tell you their rice has gluten in it, because they believe rice wine vinegar to contain gluten. Somebody get these guys an education.

We almost missed this place because it hides behind the pizza restaurant, but it was delicious! If you order 2 sushi rolls they bring them out on a mini sushi boat and it looks amazing. They definitely get 5 stars for presentation. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because their prices are rather steep, just like anything in P-town! If you are looking for excellent sushi in P-town, definitely go here, you won't be disappointed.

What a little treasure! I went on a date here late last night... and while walking down commercial st. at 9:15, I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to find a place for us to eat, relax, and get to know one another at the late hour. I am so happy that we chose Saki! Being someone rather new to the world of sushi, I'm always anxious to try new thing. Although I've only been to 4 or 5 different sushi restaurants.... this was HANDS DOWN the BEST sushi I've had. It was so fresh, tender, and flavorful. We had the spicy tuna roll and the Provincetown roll - I was so very pleased with the delicious combination of apple with the tuna and wasabi! We received a complimentary squid salad - yum!!! ...and one musn't neglect the crispy chicken appetizer with a little kick, either - the ma poi chicken was scrumdiddlyumtious!! The martinis are good and fruity! My date loved his cucumber sakitini - I of course had to switch to straight vodka after my first martini - because I'm a sucker for the harsh taste of Absolut Ruby Red. AND OH BY THE WAY - It is possibly to have a friendly sushi chef! They work here at Saki! Friendliest sushi bar I've seen yet! I can't wait to go back and get a little more daring and try some new seafood delicacies!!

We went to Saki for my future sister-in-law's bachelorette dinner and the staff was super accommodating and lovely. The food came in waves and, I think despite the fact that we were all uncomfortably full before finishing our dinners, all 11 of us enjoyed it. The highlight for me was the dragon maki, and the avocado maki was really good as well. A lot of folks ordered the Pad See Ew entree, and it was pretty good! Full of veggies but a little sweeter than I'm used to. My constructive criticism for the chefs is to cut the sashimi thinner for the rainbow maki, and arrange the fish differently on top of the roll. It was wonky and hard to eat. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it was good, and the ambience was really cool in the restaurant. We learned that it's in a converted church (some of the wood on the tables and counters was taken from the beams and floorboards of the old church before renovation) so it has a very temple-like feel. Try it out next time you're in the mood for good food!

I agree with the negative comments about the hostess if that is Janet. I was discussing my shellfish allergies with her and deciding if I should stay. She couldn't have cared less, what an attitude. Then she disappeared into the kitchen. I wound up staying, I had a nice waiter, Charlie, but the food was awful. I had two appetizers then left and grabbed a slice of pizza. Never again.

Not the best Sushi my girlfriend and I have had. It's good just not for the price. Great atmosphere and the food comes out on these cool boats that actually look like they would float. Lol. If you are looking for sushi in P-town this is your place. There are others but they don't even come close.

This was one of those cases of "I really wanted to like it, but...". There was nothing really BAD about Saki, but they struck just enough off notes with me that I can't justify a great review. We didn't have any of the service issues others have mentioned. We booked ahead on OpenTable, showed up 5 minutes early, and were seated right away. Our waitress was pleasant, prompt, and polite throughout the meal and always kept our water glasses topped off. The loss of stars comes with some missteps with the food. We got two rolls to start (Dragon and Spicy Tuna). The spicy tuna was good but surprisingly bland, you could not call that spicy by any definition of the word. The dragon roll was tasty but had too much "crunch" in the center, which we found a little off-putting. For the main course I had the Vietnamese BBQ short ribs, which started out good but declined as I continued to eat it. On the plus side, they do have a fantastic BBQ glaze and the ribs, side salad, and potatoes all came in very generous portions. As I started eating the ribs, however, I discovered that the meat was EXTREMELY fatty, as in I've never had such fatty ribs in my life. A couple of the ribs were even broken, such that i had several segments of bone under the meat that i had to be careful not to swallow. Also, they drowned the side salad pretty heavily in vinegar, to the point where I only ate half of it because i just couldn't take any more if that vinegar taste. All in all, it wasn't the worst meal, but at $90 for two people, I expected far higher quality, and my boyfriend and I agreed we would probably never go back here.

Built into a converted church, this beautiful space delivers literally some of the best Sushi on Cape Cod, if not beyond. The menu is very extensive and contained both local inventions as well as traditional items. While a bit on the pricey side, the Chef treats his dishes as an art form, while taking things to the next level, which we very much appreciated. Our Server was fantastic and went out of his way to help us decide amongst the vast menu offerings. Out only complaint was that the Host standing outside was extremely pushy when we were looking at the menu and trying to decide if we would dine there or not. 5-Stars nevertheless!

Quite good sushi and great selection of sake in a very attractive spacious setting in the heart of Ptown. Our Bulgarian waiter was charming enough but the night was nearly ruined by the ridiculously rude and histrionic hostess. First of all, she did not so much as greet us. We had an early reservation and the room was nearly empty. Nonetheless, apparently asking for a different table where a very elderly member of our party would be more comfortable was beyond the pale - the hostess scowled, rolled her eyes and shot dirty looks at us. Once we were seated it became evident that we were positioned on the hostess's flight pattern and fly she did, all night, clattering back and forth from one end of the room to the other with hair flying and blouse hanging way off one shoulder so she could share her lovely pink bra with one and all. Her hectic activity and overblown sense of frantic purpose created the ambiance of having a lovely meal inside a frenzied maelstrom. Okay, I get it's August but Saki, you need to find a different hostess. It will make a world of difference and I for one will be back.

Amazing sushi! Very fresh, high quality. Try the Thai soup to start, and share a sushi boat with your partner. Great variety, and quite a good value for the quality and amount of sushi. Justin was our waiter, and he was wonderful. The restaurant space is beautiful. Great high ceilings. We found out that it used to be a church, then a theater, then a bar/lounge, and now a restaurant. Very comfortable, doesn't feel cramped or crowded. Highly recommend this place! Be sure to make a reservation.

We loved our dinner and are still talking about it. We had monkey brains as an app, miso cod, and a lobster tempura roll. We had saki and a few of the martinis on the menu. Everything was spot on. Our server was great and not overly intrusive. We really enjoyed ourselves.

This past weekend I ate there and was displeased with my waiter's attitude. This is not my first time in this place. When I asked if my friend's food was on its way after waiting a while, I was given 2 sarcastic remarks and then the appropriate remark came after that once he realized his inappropriate response. The last response was " I will check-" the one that should have been the first outcome but was not. I will definitely think twice next time I am in Ptown and this restaurant is considered for patronage.

Saki is the best place in Provincetown for sushi. I enjoy the high ceilings, the decor, and the food. The menu has a lot of variety, and the sushi is fresh with big portions.

The food at Saki is delicious, but the service is atrocious. I understand being in a busy resort town means that you won't be able to get to every customer in a timely manner, but being rude and acting annoyed does not make me feel welcomed at all. I've been here 3 times in my two months in PTown and I have to say that everytime the service gets worse. I hope that they really work on this because even though I'm not a big fan of sushi, I love their Pineapple fried rice with shrimp.

I have never had better sushi in my life.... and I love sushi! I've lived in Ptown for 3 years and had never been to Saki until last week. I'm going again tonight and again next week with friends. We started off with the Miso Soup which had a totally different flavor than what I've come to expect. The mushrooms in the Miso broth gave the soup an amazingly earthy texture. The first sip was a little "wait.... what is this?" but by the second spoonful, I was hooked. For dinner we split an order of the Spider Roll and the Green Dragon. The Spider Roll was a major stand out. Amazing flavor and texture... we didn't even need soy sauce. I will absolutely be ordering this again and would very highly recommend it. The Green Dragon Roll was also wonderful, but not as good as the Spider Roll. Warren was our waiter and he was a total gentlemen and made some great suggestions. A+ for him and we left more than the standard 20% tip because of it. A few people on here have had some really harsh things to say about the hostess/manager (same person). When we first came up the stairs she had a few remarks that were... very surprising. I dont know if she knew we were locals or not, but regardless, it definitely caught us off guard. Having to deal with the public can be hell, but I think she like many of us in town is suffering from "Augustitis." Since then we've chatted briefly with her and I think its just part of her personality. We still love Saki and it has become one of our favorites in town.

Very good Japanese food. Some reviewers thought that the prices were high, but that is because the portions are big. Order less would be my response. I also don't understand the comments about the service as we found it very good: attentive without being intrusive. It is a nice change from the typical seafood restaurants on the Cape and I am happy to recommend it.

My friends and I so love this place, from the moment we walk in and are greeted by Janet ,,,, a perfect host who runs the place with such warmth .... and efficiency . She, like the whole ambience are a breath of fresh air from the regular more traditional P Town restaurants that are .....how can I put this nicely? .... due for some care and attention. I am a sushi aficionado and eat it regularly back home in London & Miami but i am well impressed with both the selection and the quality of what thy serve here. It's excellent. This is the first time I have ever written on yelp but as I was leaving the restaurant again with a another gang of my friends we were all raving about what a gem this place is ..... and how many wonderful nights we have had there ... so this is a very public thank you to Janet et al. Thank you for making eating out at Saki such a sheer joy.

Really good sushi restaurant. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. The ambiance is very interesting and unique since the restaurant Is in a former church. Good cocktails - I definitely recommend the diablo margarita. Very spicy but not too much of a punch. My wife loved the spicy tuna roll and thought it was plenty filling along with a tasty bowl of miso soup. I had the sushi combo. The tuna roll in the combo was good but the sushi pieces were the best, especially the white tuna. Some of the larger rolls looked great as well.

I frequent sushi restaurants and this was by far the worst. It was outrageously over-priced for what it was; the sushi was good but $81 for 5 maki rolls that could have been a lot better. Overpriced food aside, the service was almost non-existent. Upon arrival, we were told by the hostess that a table was available and it just needed to be cleaned off, but then a man who appeared to be the head waiter told us we could only sit at the bar. Then, just as we were sitting at the bar, the hostess told us that we did in fact have a table. Clearly there was a lack of communication on their part. After this whole table confusion was over we waited at least ten minutes (probably longer) for someone to even come over to our table. After finally placing our food and drink orders (which we placed simultaneously due to the fact that it took so long for our waiter to make an appearance) the plate runner came over with food that wasn't ours twice, only to apologize and tell us that the system wasn't working, before our food ever came out. As this was all going on, I watched the plate runner go back and argue with the hostess over the fact that the system wasn't working. All-in-all a horrible experience and a complete waste of a large sum of money. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Worst service and over-priced food I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing.

The BEST sushi place in Provincetown. The atmosphere is great and it can get very busy. My favorites are the Spider Roll and the Lady Bug. The bartenders are always friendly and make a great drink. I'd suggest sitting at the sushi bar or the cocktail bar. LOVE Janet the hostess. People can linger at tables because the place is so good, so expect a wait if you have a reservation for that table to finish up.

This place is as good as it gets for P-town and Cape Cod. Pad-se-ew is good, vegetarian options for sushi are all really good, cocktails are good and strong. Our service has always been great. It's one of a kind in P-Town and in the Outer Cape and it's amazing how it feels like you are not in Cape Cod the minute you walk in. Our service has always been good and we sat upstairs in this great area that overlooked the restaurant--I would request that area in the future if I was in a group of 6 or more.

I go to this place every summer for some high quality sushi and Asian dishes! It is my sister's favorite restaurant. They are very friendly and know what they're doing, it is a well run business. Make sure to make a reservation though as they are very busy!
