Been there a couple times. The service is really great, best service I have had in a restaurant. You know what they say, people go for the food but they come back for the service! The staff are very helpful explaining what the menu items are if you are not well acquainted with Mexican food. A PLUS- free chips and salsa. BEST DISH BY FAR: Arroz con pollo which is rice with chicken, it comes with soft flour tortillas & avocadoes. The serving is seriously generous! Enough for me & my boyfriend to share

The food: I had a burrito. It was the size of my head. It was @#$%ing delicious and filling (I could only eat about a third!) My boyfriend had the Arroz con Pollo. He enjoyed it. He ate about half and took the rest home. We both got margaritas and they were great -- strong enough to taste the tequila, but not so strong that we were crying and gasping for air. The service: that's another story. The waitress was really rude :( I asked for napkins and she never brought them :( :( we ordered an appetizer and never got it and she still charged us for it :( :( :( and then when we pointed it out she took the bill and walked away without saying anything. Girl why are you being so mean, your tips rely on your personality. Lucky for you I am a server as well and can't stand to tip poorly. I'll go back. I'll probably just ask for a different server.

If I could have given no stars, I would have. Worst customer experience I've ever had!!!! The owner is rude, confrontational and unprofessional. Argued with me for 20 minutes because I wanted to use a gift certificate for my take out order. Stated he wouldn't make any money that way because we weren't drinking. Made no sense. So apparently they condone drinking and driving to excess. The food was already made and I asked him what he was going to do if I didn't take the food already prepared; $100 worth no less. He said he'd just sell it later that day. I asked,"so you'll just sell old food?" The answer was yes, he didn't care. He'd just reheat it. Seriously? If think twice before eating here if he's going to do that.

I must start by saying that any night out at Rancho is always a good time. Most of the servers and bartenders will remember you if you visit a few times and always encourage a few (if not more) tasty, strong drinks. On busy nights they usually have a Mariachi band visiting the tables and playing requested songs. I'm a bit torn on the Mariachi aspect. It's a nice cultural touch but can be annoying at times, especially, if you're trying to carry on a conversation. At first I thought, "just don't sit in the bar area next time" but the band usually makes their way over to the dining tables as well. Then again, the more tasty drinks you have, the more you tend to want to request ridiculous songs. The food is good. I was disappointed with the guacamole though. It did not taste as fresh as I was hoping and was a bit too smooth in texture for my taste. The portions are huge. I ordered a chicken dish that I ate for about 2 days after my visit. The bathroom could use a re-vamp. It was very old, outdated, and small. They were out of toilet paper and had napkins instead (downgrade a star or two for that alone). I was impressed to see a worker go in and clean things up, but unfortunately the decrepit state of this bathroom can't really be fixed with just a little elbow grease. I will keep returning but mainly because it is a fun spot to drink and grab a bite with friends.

Solid spot for Mexican food. We decided to stop in because it's always packed when we drive by. Food is good and staff was friendly.

Big fan of this spot. Their food is very good authentic mexican, and the service is excellent. Their margaritas are very good as well, plus being able to get pitchers of Margs is a big plus

Great Mexican food at reasonable prices! Huge drinks not watered down. Not a fan of the salsa, it's very watery but that's the only negative thing I could possibly say. Everyone's friendly, service is awesome, never a wait, been coming for years. Get the Rancho Chico Borito it's big enough for two meals and you can order it half chicken half beef .

This is my "GO TO" mexican food restaurant. The food is always fresh and plentiful. I have never had a bad dish. The staff is very friendly and the margaritas are tasty.

Rancho Chico is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I typically get either the fajitas or enchiladas, which are both excellent.

I would have given this a 3 star rating for the food quality and the great margarita but I can't over look the dirty wall in my booth and the cob webs on the fake flowers. The portions where very generous and service was friendly and good. Unfortunately I just did not enjoy the overall experience of this restaurant it really is very unatractrive and has cleanliness issues..

We love their food. It's terrific. Overpriced, however - and quite unfortunately. I've had at least two experiences where I feel ripped off while using valid coupons, and I feel that the staff either plays ignorant or just doesn't understand the concept. It's disheartening. I enjoy their food, but can't understand why I manage to spend just as much - if not more - the times I've presented one of those lovely little pieces of paper. Everyone is so pleasant, but they freeze up or fumble around when I break out a coupon. We're broke, but in the spirit of being young and foolish tonight we had two beers a piece (4 refreshing Pacifico's) and each chose one of their wonderful combination-style plates (again, the food is great.) The guacamole and sour cream side I ordered to compliment our $12/ea meals cost a whopping $5 (for maybe about 1oz each). Seriously? My bill totaled over $47! Oh, and the online gift certificate I'd purchased worth $25 was supposed to have already included gratuity, too. But I was charged an additional $8 for that! So sad.

Really good Mexican, wish they would offer a happy hour on margaritas! Great and friendly staff, and their sangria is amazing!

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in this area. The wait staff are always pleasant and attentive. The food is always hot and fresh. I've never been disappointed, with either the take-out or dining-in experience. At times it can get really busy, so be prepared to wait a short time for either a table or to be waited on. Plenty of seating for the family, booths and tables are available. The decor is very typical Mexican style - sombrero's, horses, etc. Cliche, but not overdone. The ceiling tiles could do with a replacement. I've never got sick from eating here so I'm not concerned. The house style, frozen margaritas are wonderful and a decent price for the quality. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a really nice Mexican meal.

This place is gross. Obesity sized portions of gelatinous sour cream and iridescent guacamole. Bears no resemblance to anything Mexican. Bears no resemblance to anything edible.

Average Mexican food, but good in the area. House Margaritas and Shrimp and Steak Fajitas are really good.

This is the perfect place to go before heading up the road to a concert at Patriot Place or at Gilette Stadium. Its far enough down the road that you miss alot of the 495 traffic which is always plowing towards Gillette but at the same time you get some good Tex-Mex food. The place inside is fairly large with several rooms which are separated from each other. It helps to keep the noise down a bit and keeps the bar noise a bit separated from the dinning area which is nice. The people who work there are typically of hispanic heritage and have a good base in what food is good there. They also know how to make certain things which are not on the menu like Micheladas or Cheladas. Also you get free chips with your meal which is always fun. The one thing about this place is that the portions of food which you get are enormous. I mean you could easily eat two meals off of what they serve you and if you eat the entire meal you're definitely going to be regretting it in the morning. Also a good place to go before heading out to do some bowling at North Bowl down the street on Rt. 1 in North Attleboro.

If you want "authentic" Mexican food, do not go here. If, however, you want a huge portion of cheesy, sour cream/guacamole-covered goodness, then Rancho Chico is the place to be. All of their portions are huge and range from the classic quesadillas to vegetarian dishes. I love the Spinach Quesadillas since they are not as filling as their meat counterpart, but when I'm hungrier the Quesadillas con Mariscos (quesadillas with shrimp) are the best! If you do get dessert here, definitely try the churros (fried cinnamon sticks with chocolate dipping sauce) or the fried ice cream. I have had fried ice cream before at other restaurants (i.e. Dahra Thai) and Rancho Chico's is much lighter. Rather than deep-frying the ice cream, they cover it in what tastes like a banana-cornflake mixture (a lot like what they do for the french toast for the Tavern at Tower Square's Sunday brunch - read my review on that to find out more).

I am not an expert on Mexican cuisine - but this is the best mexican place I know off! I was introduced to this place by a Mexican friend - and I was very wary as I had not taken up to Mexican food very well uptil that point. But this place just blew my mind - almost every item on their menu is awesome. I love the Chili Verdre (spicy pork) and lamb shank. Their chicken dishes are also very tasty. The prices are reasonable and their bar is well stocked. Go for lunch - you get the dinner dishes for a very reasonable price! And if you are not working you could knock off a couple of maragaritas too!

Rancho Chico: big restaurant, big parking lot, big drinks, big portions, big flavor. You will not succeed at eating "light" or "small" here, nor will you succeed at holding back from eating every morsel of your entree. Don't be intimidated by the empty foyer or the colossal dining floor, filled with empty booths -- space is the chief luxury of being this far out in the exurbs, and you'll appreciate all the distance anyway when the inevitable crying-baby symphony begins several tables down. (For some reason, every time we come here there's a crying baby. It's a testament to how good the food is that it never bothers us.) The margaritas are delicious; I find the sangria over-sweet, but my wife likes it. Enjoy the chips and salsa, but note that they charge for a second bowl (sneaky!) -- it's just as well, since you'll need the room for your entree. As for food: you can't go wrong with an old Americanized Mexican standby like burritos or enchiladas (the Rancho Chico Enchiladas, which includes one serving of their superb mole sauce, is a great choice), all of which are overstuffed and cheesy. The fajita burrito is a highlight -- but the fajitas are even better, flawlessly seasoned and so very tender. Most of all I encourage you to venture to the more interesting Mexican side of the menu; the puerco dishes, in my experience, are rich, tender, well-spiced, and generous. Never have we been dissatisfied with a dinner here. It isn't the cheapest Mexican place around, to be sure (head for El Azteca in Attleboro if you're pinching pennies -- it's also quite good, though not nearly to Chico's level). The service can be stiff, and at times slow. But if you like eating, even a little bit, none of that will matter; you'll find the call of an indulgent and satisfying Mexican dinner pulling you back, and back, and back to Chico's again.

Not authentic but tasty none-the-less. I had the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce - the plate was hot and the rice was a little well done but I was happy. The place looks wicked sketchy from the outside but not so bad on the inside. I'd go back especially since there isn't any other mexican food thats good (aside from taco bell) near by but i'm still searching. IN the meantime, Rancho Chico it is.

Twice now I have bit down onto bones in my chicken tacos. Gross. I really use to enjoy this place but now the thought of those bones makes me gag. If I were to go again, I would never order meat again.

I haven't been here in two years because vegetarian burritos are not supposed to have huge pieces of steak in it. The food is decent, the mariachis are kind of obnoxious, and they have plenty of seating for groups. I wish I could go back but it was one of the most disturbing restaurant experiences. Our waiter didn't understand the problem but the burrito was in the vegetarian section. It's more disturbing because the steak means the vegetables aren't even cooked separately. They get two stars because the food was good while I could enjoy it. Oh well, I'll just go to Alcapocos.

As an avid Mexican restaurant visitor this is my least favorite. Although the food is prompt it was very bland and tasted all the same. Nothing special here.

I reported this company to the better business bureau. Waitress "forgot" everything. Including to greet us, take our orders, bring us drinks (water), bring us alcohol beverages, check, and the manager. And I'm not exaggerating. We arrived it took them 15 to even come to the table. We asked for two waters with lemon. The food came our 15mins later and still no water. Upon receiving the meal i asked AGAIN for our waters and also ordered a mixed beverage. 15mins later we finished our meals she returned to the table and asked if there was anything else she could get for me, I said YEAH MY MIXED DRINK. She gave me a look walked away and came back and said "The bar line is so long that you'll have to wait, do you still want it..." I said no.. and she tried to scurry off, I tried to ask her for her manager and she ignored the question and ran to the computer area where they check out customers and continued to chat with her other waitress friends. When one finally walked by we asked for the manager, who we were then greeted by Maria... She said "Hi" not hello my name is maria how can i help you ... no just "Hi" We both looked at each other and laughed before telling us our story. She said she was sorry and that she would give us a gift certificate. She walked away... 15 Min's later no Maria, no waitress, no bill. Finally we stopped the useless waitress and asked for our bill. she threw it on the table and walked away. She never returned to take the bill we had to give it to a passing waitress. We never received out gift certificate, or our drinks, and the food was disgusting anyway. the BBB dealt with them.

Entering the parking lot on a mid Sunday afternoon, the place was deserted. This area of Foxboro/Plainville is kind of country-bumpkin-ish and the restaurant looked like a truck stop to me. There was a large semi-truck parked across the lot and the restaurant signage screamed LOOK AT ME as though it was trying to grab your attention as you drove down Route 1 hungry. It was very dark inside the restaurant and we were taken by the hostess to the back. Only about 3 other diners were here around 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was very Americanized-Mexican. Authentic music played but I just seemed out of place inside. The menu was huge. And I kept eyeballing the liquor menu but I did not try a margarita, this however may have changed my review. The portion sizes were absolutely huge. I ordered a Rancho Chico Burrito and it was as big as the plate itself. However there wasn't much taste. The chicken inside should have been marinated or cooked in some kind of spice to make it taste a little better. For $12 you get what you paid for in portion size but lacking in taste. As we left the restaurant I noticed the Cantina, with one lonely man sitting inside sipping his mixed mexican concoction. He seemed a little out of place, and again reminded me of a lonely truck stop along Route 1.

What can turn a bad day into a better one than a delicious margarita on the rocks and a burrito that is probably twice the size of your face.

Our server was very polite and patient when taking special requests. The outside looks shady because it's off R1 but the inside is really nice and bigger than I expected. My only complaints (or suggestions) is that our queso dip was not hot enough (temperature wise), and there is a lot of queso in the dish, I wish they offered half orders of it. The salsa was nothing to write home about, and I wish they made homemade chips. But I am also use to Mexican food from the South. What sold me was the steak burritos, rice and beans YUM!!! The carne asada (steak) was amazing, great favors reminded of a former Mexican place I loved. I had been hunting for that steak taste since I moved back North and they sold me!! Def will return!

I have only been here once, but I am glad I went there based on reviews from Yelp. My GF and I were sitting around trying to figure out what we wanted to do for the night. We wanted to get out and do something. Unfortunately for us, we sat around a little too long and it was getting pretty late. We showed up to Rancho 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. I know people in the kitchen hate people like us that order last minute, so I was very apologetic when ordering and tried to be as nice as possible. I was given NO attitude, he was very happy to take my order, and we received our food very fast. I was incredibly happy with this. I also read that Rancho caters to people with a gluten allergy. Since my GF is allergic to gluten, it really cuts down on the places we can go and I was glad to hear this. (also another deciding factor in us going here) We ordered the Enchiladas Suizas off the gluten-free menu and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken in the enchiladas was incredibly tender and full of flavor like it had been sitting in a crock pot all day long. We both devoured the dish. For drinks we had margaritas and then we called it a night. Great service, terrific food, accommodating to gluten allergies, and nice atmosphere. The one issue I had with the place was that it was a little too expensive. I couldn't see myself drinking here all night long.

I am sorry for waiting so long to review you my beloved Rancho Chico. I thought I had! My family and I eat your wonderful food often and usually take it home with us. The latest Rancho Chico meal was two nights ago. The Margaritas were perfect and the dinners were so large, fresh and delicious that we skipped the appetizer. I got the Pork and Chicken Asade burritos and my wife got the Chimichanga and Enchilada combo plate. Perfect like always. We're so lucky to have such a great place to eat so nearby. The service is always friendly and the food is fast, fresh, and tasty.

Whenever I come here, like right now, there comes a point in my meal where I realize that I am fully satisfied, yet it tastes so good that I just, against my will, keep right on eating. Carne Asada is my favorite.

Generally speaking Mexican food and I do not get along. So any time I get dragged along to a Mexican place and come away thinking it was pretty good, the place must be stellar. Both of my dining companions had fairly traditional Mexican dishes, Burritos and Enchiladas. I opted for the the fish. All of it was exceptional. Most restaurants of this type rely on liberal applications of spice and heat to mask any short comings in their food. Rancho Chico does no such thing. The food was appropriately seasoned and dishes that were meant to be flavorful and not spicy were exactly what I expected (especially the fish). I can only give 3 stars because the service was quite slow. As others have pointed out, you will wait for nearly everything from the moment you walk in the door. I'm not sure if the problem is that they're understaffed or the staff is just slow. Still, the fact that I'm giving a Mexican place a positive review says a lot about what matters most; The food.

I went to Rancho Chico for a work party and despite the many naysayers, I thought it was good. I had heard that the place smelled. (Of what? I have no idea.) That the food wasn't that good. (Well it wasn't that bad, either.) Rancho Chico could certainly use a face lift though. The food may have some authentic taste to it but the surroundings don't match. The mariachi band deserved one whole star...I love those guys!

Heard good things about this Mexican restaurant, went and the chip server was rude, seemed like he didn't want to serve us. Heard laughing and everything going on back in the kitchen. Made me and my friend feel uncomfortable. What happened to loud friendly authentic Mexican places. Didn't feel very welcomed as the server and employees where laughing. Guess they didn't expect a white girl to know Spanish.

I have eaten at Rancho Chico's several times and have never had a bad meal here. The portions are huge, a great value for the money. Despite what other reviewers have written, I feel like it is authentic Mexican food, just like what I get on my trips to Mexico. I have had a hard time finding anything with mole sauce around here. Its one of my favorite things to get on vacation. The mole burrito is to die for, very authentic in my opinion. The tortillas and salsa are delicious and never ending. If the Mexican food your used to is Taco Bell or On the Border, you may not like Rancho Chico. It isn't an overly americanized place. The service has always been acceptable, it isn't over the top but I've never had a problem. There is never a long wait for food and the waitstaff have always been nice. My only complaint is the few times I've gotten take out, the food didn't hold up as well. It's much better eaten fresh at the restaurant.

Rancho Chico rules. I come here often and the food is always fabulous. Portions are big (so come hungry) and the taste cannot be beaten. I am in LOVE with the Rancho Nachos. There is no place around here that can serve up a dripping, gooey, topping filled plate of steaming tortilla chips like they can. I'm in love. The real reason I come here is for the drinks. If you are looking for a delicious and STRONG margarita, order the Martin. This is the only margarita that is worth of having it's own name. Drink two of these and the already awesome food will taste even awesome-er. The decor is what I like to call "Old West cheesy". Everything is colorful and there are plastic horses everywhere. Need I say more? Rancho Chico=severe awesomeness

Like it, don't love it. Wish I could love it, because the owners and servers are all very nice and good at their jobs, but sadly, this is Mexican food for white people in a place that obviously makes the majority of its money off the margaritas. Not that the food is gross or anything. It's good. It's just not invited-to-grandma's house good. There are plenty of healthy and/or vegetarian options here if you're looking for that, most of which involve that frozen broccoli/cauliflower/carrot medley. They have horchata sometimes, but no real, authentic limonada. It's definitely a place that I would go to again, but if I were back in Chicago, I wouldn't bother.

All I have to say is if you leave here hungry, it's your own fault! Portions are humungous! Huge selection...and almost everything we had was very good! Only problem I had here was deciding what to get...lol! We'll be back! So much left to try Btw...waitstaff is bilingual...nice!

Decided to try this restaurant out based upon the positive reviews and that it is really close to my house. The restaurant was quite busy upon arrival but was able to sit right down at a table. Hostess and staff were very friendly. The decor was a little dated and the booth seats were pretty torn up, but typical Mexican atmosphere. As with most Mexican restaurants, they gave you free chips and salsa. The chips came to the table warm which was nice but otherwise standard fare. The margaritas were quite strong and good. I ordered the vegetarian spinach enchiladas with beans/rice and sadly they had no flavor, everything was simply bland. My friend had the chicken/beef fajitas and said they were ok but not worthy of going back for. Maybe a good place to grab some margaritas and chips/salsa at the bar, but I'd probably pass on the food.

Having tried every single burrito joint from CT to Maine, I've come to the conclusion that good Mexican food just doesn't exist in the NE. (Disclaimer: I can't speak for NY since that is definitely strictly a pizza state :) But there is a ray of hope... at Rancho Chico! It's the most authentic Mexican food in a barren wasteland of bad bad mushroom (??) and broccoli(??!) burritos. It has that perfect stick-to-the-plate So Cal thing and greasy warm chips and I looooove that you get guacamole on the side - that alone is worth 5 sparkling stars

Would have to say that I've been to better Mexican restaurants before. This was a just an ok visit. Service was attentive, chips were good (salsa too runny), fajitas were decent. The chile relleno and enchilada were ok as well. Margaritas were inconsistent(second one tasted like plastic) but my own fault for not sending it back. All in all, just an acceptable visit. The decor was nothing special and the furniture seemed outdated and worn. Somewhat of a musty odor upon arrival. If you are in the area, then probably worth a stop, but not a destination.

The margaritas are ok. Chips and salsa were ok, I wouldn't eat here if I wanted to eat a real meal. Maybe Taco Bell would compete with this place.

Snagged a couple of seats at the bar on a Friday night on our way to a show. We didn't order actual meals, so I can't vouch TOO much, but I will say that someone promptly brought us chips and salsa (the salsa was awesome!), the bartenders were friendly, prompt and helpful. We realized after ordering that they actually have a lot of margarita options. Homemade sour mix and Grand Marnier sits in large jugs behind the bar, we noticed. We ordered some queso dip and guac to go with our chips - REALLY good, and seriously unbelievable portion sizes. Usually you order queso in a restaurant, get a cup for $4 and blow through it and order another. Not here... they bring you a huge vat of it that you could never possibly get through. Three large margaritas, Three shots of tequila, a soft drink, and our appetizers came to $37.. we actually handed the bill back at first because we thought they forgot to add something. No, it was that cheap! The bathroom could have used a little help, the place is a little dark and dim and could use some upgrading, and no one in the restaurant could break a $50 down to twenties and a ten (or anything for that matter) so that we could tip better than we were able to (still over 20%), but those were the only downsides we saw without getting too far into ordering. Peeking at the menu, though, showed that there were a variety of options at good prices.

I came in with some friends for margaritas. They were not that good. My friend ordered sangria and it was awful and she sent it back. The server was really nice about it and made her a new drink which was much better. I did not order any food so I can't judge that. One of the girls ordered the fajitas and said they were good. If I was judging just in my drinks I would have gave two stars but because the service was good I gave three. The waiter was always checking up on us and bringing chip refills.

Took my mom here for Mother's Day. We had to wait for our food for one hour. The waitress felt like we were big inconvenience to her. Because we 7 people they included the tip on the check. In addition they would not honor a certificate from restaurant.com They told us that they would not honor them because it was mothers day. Unacceptable!

We tried this place a long time ago, when it first opened, and were not impressed. Typically, we'd drive past it to Franklin for Mexican. But we were in the mood for Mexican one night and didn't want to drive, so we gave Rancho Chico another try. Glad we did. Wife and I got the Carne Asada, while my older son got the Rancho Chico Burrito. All were very good. So much, that we have been back at least 2 more times. Prices are average I think, and service was always decent.

I'm writing this in a hospital waiting room. now the other issues we had of the night became smaller, what with missing drink orders, lame excuse for wax paper found inside an enchilada and no comping until asked, and making the group of 13 wait an hour for food while watching other tables being served/having eaten & left... SOMEONE WITH A SEVERE GLUTEN ALLERGY WAS SENT TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT AT THE END OF THE MEAL, after ordering from the dedicated GF menu, and asking to make sure that food is prepared safely for her to consume. person in question had a seizure right at the table. we were the ones to call 911 and remove her from the table to the bathroom. what's worse, paramedics had arrived and left, yet we were STILL waiting for the manager to get to our table to talk to us. meanwhile, the whole dining section was looking on, wait staff passing by not really stopping to check if she was ok. NO HELP from this place. imagine if she was dining by herself -- might have been left for dead right there. once His Majesty finally arrived, and i presented our issue to him, all i got was "we are serious about this", "we have been doing this for 9 years, never had an issue", because "everything is done according to guidelines". this is relevant how? i've never driven drunk and killed anyone for 30+ years either. does that mean i can say it'll NEVER happen....despite a person lying right under my car as i emerge from the vehicle, like, right now??? can you GUARANTEE there can be no mistakes to be made among that large staff of yours? besides, if you "never had an issue" with allergies, why do i see multiple reviews in the Find Me Gluten Free app stating otherwise?? maybe those diners never brought it up to your attention, or maybe you just shunned them the way you did to us. let me break this down a little bit. so, by "treating this seriously", do you mean: - appearing from the kitchen to check on your guests a whole 10 minutes AFTER a life-threatening incident had happened? - showing no other emotion but defensiveness? - refusing to at least comp the meal for the person in question? (trust me, i'm not asking to eat free here though your food is nothing to rave about, nor was it my intention to gyp the waiter who wasn't entirely doing his job) - refusing to give us the ingredient list (that you claimed to have on hand), and would produce that ONLY when the hospital asks for it? - suggesting that the person in question might have eaten something ELSE before arriving at your restaurant, which is making her sick now? - insisting that we pay in full just to "prove that we ate here, in case we have a problem with the allergy issue down the road"? who does that??? and exactly what guidelines are you following??? let me tell you, this person in question is now crying bloody murder in a hospital room because she is in intense pain, suffering from multiple seizure episodes, and purging your contaminated food every way her body knows how. AND YOU ARE STILL TRYING TO SAY THAT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FOOD YOU SERVED HER? and i thought i might have misinterpreted his reactions/attitude in the heat of the moment (during which we both tried to be calm), but others at my table heard our conversation and thought likewise: he offered little to zero sympathy or solution to our problem (well, not even being there in the first place), did not own up to the issue at hand (more like fighting it the whole time, much less offering an apology), and basically treated me as if I was attempting to complain my way to a free meal. mind you, although some of us strongly disagreed, we still paid in full (with a smaller than normal tip) -- just bc we didn't want the waiter to be penalized for the owner's inexcusable behavior (he claimed that he would have to pick up the tab if we didn't pay). we did it "just to prove" that we're not here to get a free meal out of you. again, who does that??? Mr. Antonio Santillain, you had MANY chances along the way to rectify a customer issue, yet you chose the road to make it worse. much, much worse. you blew it big time, sir. just be careful of any lawsuit and formal complaint coming your way. good luck doing business like this. (i'm adding this on my GF list just so to warn people OFF this place. eat here at your own risk. seriously.)

Basic but really, really good. They have all of the standard Mexican food dishes that you could ever want, and they are all quite good. The staff is very courteous, very friendly, and it's obviously a genuine Mexican run restaurant. They do fun things for Cinco De Mayo. This one is definitely worth trying! Best in the area for sure.

Stopped here on our way home from a horrible day. Waitstaff was pleasant. Menu is huge but just enough. We sat down to water and chips which is standard but still a nice greeting. Portions are more than generous. Decor is a little tacky but nice. The bill came and we were pleasantly surprised. Neither of us finished. The waitress did keep promising us a refill on chips that we never got but you can't win 'em all. All in all great food for a good price on a main road. I'll take it.

Was hoping for authentic Mexican food and delicious margaritas but settled for less than stellar margaritas and not very fresh or tasty Mexican food. The guacamole seemed old, it was definitely not fresh. The taco salad was very small and something you could make at home and the camarones caliente were swimming in a sauce that had no taste just spicy. They did charge extra for sour cream $1.75 which is no big deal but they should certainly tell you that when ordering. The margaritas were either very skimpy on tequila or way overboard on sour mix. I was dying to try this place because I've heard great things but I was disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for good authentic Mexican food.

You looking for huge portions? This is the place to go. I went with a party of 6 and we were all thrilled with our meals. Fresh, tasty, good service . I suggest the burritos, or the meal combos on one of the last pages of the menu. Drinks are strong but they gave quite the selection. Real Mexican food! Can't wait to go back

Did not enjoy the meal here at all. It would be generous to call the service average. Maybe I just don't like Mexican food but the pork dish I got was dry and felt very much like leftovers reheated a third time. It wasn't good at all. Rice served with it was cold as if it had been sitting around a long time. Left unhappy with pretty much all aspects.

Really enjoyed the food here. You receive free chips and salsa and the salsa was delicious, had just enough spice. My husband and I both got fajitas, they come out on a sizzling skillet and they were full of flavor! Service was also great! Very on top of things! Will definitely be going back to this place!

The service was great, very accommodating, willing to make changes to the menu selections. Since my wife loves guacamole she would have preferred more with her salad. We would certainly eat there again.

I wanted to love this spot, recommended by someone who resides in the area. We were at the Burton Outlet in Wrentham and needed food and libations after shopping. The reception was warm and friendly. Most of the staff were Spanish speaking as were many of the customers. Good sign, right? Well, upon closer inspection, the place is filthy; worn and stained carpets, dirty bathrooms and sticky tables. Our waiter was most pleasant but could have been a little more informed on drinks. Great tequila choices but they use sickeningly sweet sour mix and it was hard to get a pure Margarita. He offered a skinny version but it too was sweet. Chips are fresh and tasty, salsa, very thin but tasty. Prices are very affordable. I had the enchilada bar (2 enchiladas and 2 sauces) that were A OK. The rice was tasty. I did not eat the beans as the waiter could not confirm they were not made with lard (I don't eat lard). The setting is very loud and the lights are very bright. Plenty of parking and lots of tables so I am certain, never any wait. About 10 minutes from the Outlets. If you want mediocre Americanized Mexican food, give it a try. Despite not loving it, we had a nice time, but then again, we always do...

By far one of my favorite restaurants around. The margaritas are awesome and the food is great. I do not like dark meat chicken and most Mexican restaurants use dark meat and white meat but Rancho Chico uses all white meat. We also have vegetarians I out family and there are plenty of options. I have never had a long wait here either. Just a great restaurant with awesome food.

BIG burritos-taste good, too. Not a fan of the flan, but the fried ice cream is great. Went in for take out and the food was ready when I got there.

Recently discovered and have been a few times; we initially ate in the first time but got take out the next couple of times. We have tried the asada quesadilla with steak, the nachos with chicken, macho burrito, and a combo plate and have been pleased with the food. I do feel the quesedillas should come with a side of rice. Also, I felt the upcharge for the sour cream and guacamole was not worth the price; I believe it was about $2.75 and it was literally a teaspoon of each.

More recently, my boyfriend has gotten sick twice after eating at Rancho Chico's. Last time, he got so sick that we had to leave shortly after our meal arrived. He has a sensitive stomach, and I'm concerned that it might have something to do with their queso (he never has issues with this elsewhere, however). Other than that, the food just isn't nearly as good as it used to be and neither is the service. Occasionally, I'll still drop in to pick up a quesadilla for lunch, and the host/hostess is always friendly but I can't say the same for the servers. I came here with my mother about a month ago and our server hardly visited the table! We ordered shrimp fajitas for dinner, and got about 2-3 shrimps and a pile of veggies. What a real bummer, Rancho's was one of my favorites for years!

This place is worth the four mile drive from the outlets to avoid the clusters of shoppers at all the outlet restaurants. Just one exit away on 495 gets you no-wait friendly service. Typical menu and prices.

Best mexican food in the area - hands down! Prices are great, food is delish, and drinks are awesome. Even our family from the West gives this place a thumb's up!

Friendly employees with a sense of urgency. Queso Dip was very tasty with the complimentary tortilla chips, unlike other places, you could taste the jalapenos. I had a combo 20, which was a large portion big enough for two, but I powered through it :) My husband had the Rancho Chico Burrito and it was definitely appropriately priced for the size, as it was also sized for two people. It may be odd to review, but their mix of diet coke was balanced well...not too much syrup and not too much carbonation. I don't remember much about the atmosphere, because I was focused on the food. I will definitely go back.

Best Mexican food in the area. Everthing here is homemade and portions are generous. Like others - we tried this place several years ago and were not impressed. Whatever changes made were in the right direction, sour cream and guac were included with no extra charge and the plates included both rice and beans. You can tell everything is handmade. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend.

we LOVE it here. Margaritas, Delicious. Menu? Great. Love the nachos, taco salad bowl, burritos all of it. Great chips and Salsa, salsa could be a little spicier but still yummy. Service is great, very friendly! We love coming here :)!

I went to Rancho this past weekend with group of about 10-15, the staff was extremely friendly the entire time! It was a great place to have such a huge party. The chips and salsa were never ending. We opted for the margarita pitchers which were a good price when splitting them amongst everyone. I ordered the steak fajitas, I was kind of surprised that they didn't come with more tomatoes and lettuce (personal choice I suppose). They were your standard fajitas. The place was good overall, definitely overpriced for the cost. I am not sure if theres other places in the area that offer better fare though!

So I'm a fan of this place but it does not compare to Border Cafe in the Boston area - which I'm used to. I love Mexican and this place is the closest to good Mexican that I have found since moving here a year ago. There's a really good selection of burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. Good entrees. Great free chips and salsa (I hate when Mexican places make you pay for it!). Great family-friendly restaurant. There's a separate bar area that's always busy - great for a mom's night out! The waitstaff is just ok. We've been here a few times already and got a few restaurant.com coupons for it.

Tried this place a couple of times, since it's close by. I have to say the food is pretty ick and WAY over-priced. Maybe I'm spoiled from going to Margarita's in Waltham - that's the place to go for good Mexican food - beautiful interior and great prices. I miss living closer!

The salsa set the tone for the meal. Immediately upon being seated we were served the fresh salsa and hot chips. I love that about these types of places. I'll take chips and salsa over bread and oil almost any day of the week. The only problem is that the salsa at Rancho Chico was very thin and bland. I love the idea behind it, but the execution just wasn't great and the same went for the rest of the meal. It's not that the food was bad, but I've had better. We went because we had a Groupon and with another Groupon I could probably be convinced to go back, but I think I'll stick to El Azteca which is closer to my neck of the woods anyway.

Good place for a quick and inexpensive decent Mexican meal. Very kid friendly. Stick with the traditional American Mexican dishes (tacos, burritos. Etc.). Good chips and salsa. Very nice wait staff. Atmosphere is so-so.

First time Rancher...Long time Chico...er....?? Friends of mine come here often. I pass it every morning on my way to work. I do enjoy me some mexican cuisine and so it just came to be that we ended up here Friday night. They start ya off with chips and salsa...we took full advantage and had about 3 baskets. Id like to see you turn down free, delicious, fresh chips and salsa! We all got variety of entres which appeared to run almost the full gamut of the menu. Burritos were monstrous, all the fillings were flavorfull and everything had that enticing string of cheese that connects from yo face to yo plate (kind of like that embarassing "spit" moment while at the dentist but with delicious melted cheese). Side note #1: try the Chile relino (sp?) cant remember the exact name of the item but its a pepper in batter stuffed with cheese. It tastes almost exactly like creamed spinach but waaay better. Side note #2: sometimes the food comes in a monsterous plate/bowl hybrid...and theres a reason. Theres a sauce, cheese, bean slurry that sits below the main items like some sort of beautiful fat kid kiddie pool....which brings us to probably the most important tip i can say about this place.... ***Side note #3: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BASKET OF CHIPS FOR WHEN YOUR MEAL COMES!!!!!!! You can pretty much turn your plate and those chips into your own lil nacho dish! I can only relate it to that moment when you slide a piece of bread or roll through the remains of a pasta dish or salad....you know what I'm talking about. That moment where you know you're a bad person but oh does it feel and taste so right. Give this place a whirl! I'll more than likely pop back and try some new things!

I love Rancho Chico. It's hard to believe that it's related to Alcopolco's, because this place is so much better. I heard different brothers own it? I really appreciate that they have a good sized vegetarian section- and that they serve you pinto beans instead of the "refried beans" which have lard in them. Our waitress the last time I went was a little rude but who knows...I have never had a bad experience there. Just keep those chips and salsa coming!!

Best chimichanga I've had in a loooong time. The rice and beans are delish. Even the free chips and salsa are tasty. The staff is nice and accommodating. Your food is ready super quick and always tastes fresh. Went here on Fathers Day and they had a live mariachi band performing table to table. Great place to take kids!

Chip salsa pretty good actually. Entree portions are indeed generous. Decent guacamole. Zero draft beer. Although I only give it a 3, I like the joint, and come here every so often, as we did today.

I live in prov, and this is the best Mexican I have found so far. The place has a typical mex restaurant feel to it. The vegetarian part of the menu is pretty extensive, and our veggie burritos were pretty good and plentiful. Portions sizes at this place are quite large, and prices are a little on the high side for a place like this. All in all, I liked the place.

I started going to Rancho Chico a few years ago and have not stopped going since. This is probably the most authentic Mexican Restaurant in Mass. Don't be fooled by the chain Mexican Restaurants. The salsa is very addicting. The drinks are always good. The burritos have a lot of flavor, and the restaurant is big. I dont think I ever had a very long wait when going.

My family took me there for my Birthday. It waas great we all like mexican food. On Sunday nights they have a mariachi band that goes around and sings at your table. The food is good and for those who don`t like alot of heat in their food. They will accomadate your needs.

I used to live in New Mexico and this is the best Mexican food I've had here in New England so far. Starting with sides, the obligatory shredded lettuce and diced tomato salad was fresh as were the beans and rice. Quality beans and rice are a staple of a good Mexican Restaurant I think and Rancho Chico does it right. Moving onto the the main items, we ordered an enchilada with the molé, the chimichanga, tacos, a chicken burrito, and my personal Mexican restaurant yardstick; the chille rellano. The molé sauce is a little sweeter than I'm used to and apparently has a bit of peanut butter in it which was a new concept for this gringo. Either way very tasty. The chicken burrito was a little lacking as the breast meat inside was quite bland and a little dry but the chimi' made up for it. The chille rellano was pretty good, a little soggy if I'm being honest but the flavor was spot on. Maybe its where they place it on the plate. The tacos were pretty standard but very good flavor. Price wise it was pretty fair. Our bill was $55 for a family of four. Ill be going back for sure and if you're in the area and looking for a Mexican restaurant give Rancho Chico a shot

I wasn't sure I was going to yelp this until I'd been there a second time because I've heard from so many people how great this place is. Maybe I'll update it later, but for now.... We sat on the bar side, and, as I think someone pointed out previously, the service was not good in that area. They didn't ask us if we wanted a second round until we were already done with our meal, and only refilled our basket of chips once even though there was barely enough for the table. My husband and I split the "Rancho Chico Burrito" which was just "eh" for Mexican food. It wasn't terrible, but I've had better and with all the hype about how great their burritos are, I was disappointed. The drinks, however, were delicious. They have really good margaritas, and all the drinks ordered at the table (wine, beer etc) came in frosty glasses (always nice). I'll probably try it again except sit in the dining area, and maybe try a couple different things on the menu.

    (3)
  • Dave S.

Outside is plain but inside is fine with several separate rooms. Waitress was OK, minimal pleasantries. Judging by one frozen margarita and one on the rocks, drinks are barely adequate; frozen was all air, no flavor. Food service was prompt with large portions. Two of us split a $22.00 combo and there was a little left over. Food was OK, just ordinary. When we're spending $40 for two people, 'OK' isn't good enough. No reason to go back. There are better Mexican restaurants in the area.

I've been in a few times, and they are OK. They seem a little pricy, but they aren't bad. It's not the first place I would choose to go for Mexican. But it's better than Taco Bell. THe serice was pretty good...but it wasn't fast. We've been a few times since it's been open, and it's abotu the same every time. But I just can't get excited about going there.

    (3)
  • Ken G.

The service is awful, there are flies in the dining room and the food is little better than taco bell. I feel it is not a good value for the quality of the meal. I recenty tried them again with a coupon and the waiter first did not honor it then added an 18% gratuity as the coupon said but still did not take off the coupon value. I was excited when they first opened but very disappointed every time I tried it.

Good, reasonably priced family restaurant. Definitely nothing to write home about food, but the staff is nice and you have kids it's pretty quick and filling with large portions. Food similar to Acupulcos, but not as fresh tasting

Really like Rancho Chico. It looks like a roadhouse from the front. It is about 5 miles south of Gillette Stadium on the right. Authentic Mexican food and family owned. They have a large dining area out back or sit in the lounge area which is my favorite as they have some old style Ramada Inn or Reagle Beagle (the bar from the tv show "Three's Company) lounge furniture. Here is the main thing you need to know about Rancho Chico, they have a tequila menu!! The food is reasonable, be sure to try their nacho plate it is heaped with cheese. Do your self a favor drive by the "Chili's" next time and head to Rancho Chico.

Ehh...... sitting in the bar side, service sucks. plain and simple. food was alright, decent Mexican food (not that bad the next day either), lots to chose from on the menu... could use some updating, was told its more of a local bar spot, which I can see cause the margaritas were great!

This place is kitschy and cheap but the food is good. Sometimes they even have Mariachi bands! Very casual and fun. The food is inexpensive, the Sangria is delicious and the decor is a kick! They have a nice selection of Tequilas, too.

I love Mexican food. I have had a number of the dishes, but the Rancho Chico Enchiladas are favorite. The pork carnitas are my base line dish for any new Mexican restaurant and they are good. Love the home made salsa and chips. This is the best Mexican I have found in New England so far. Service has always been good and I prefer the table seating in the bar area. Takeout is always "10 minutes amigo".

Our first visit a year or so ago was unimpressive and irritating and we were not going to give them another chance. On the way home from a baby doctor appointment we decided to stop and get take out. When we walked in and asked to place a take out order - we asked the hostess if they could make a garden salad. She did not know what a garden salad was and suggested we get the $9 Rancho Chico Salad which we did without the chicken because I wanted a side salad. I of course was charged full price. We then asked if it was possible to get Medium Rare steak in the Fajitas and was told yes and then she asked what I wanted to order. So I said "steak fajitas please" and she looks at the menu and says "you have a choice of steak, shrimp or chicken"... Is it me? So I repeat that I want steak Medium Rare in the fajitas. She tells us it will be 20 minutes for the take out. A good 10 mins later the hostess tells us she just put the order in. So I asked if this means that we are waiting another 20 minutes and non apologetically she says "yes"... Finally we get our food and leave. I get home and did not get fajitas - I got a quesadilla that I did not want and it was sprinkled with shriveled overcooked steak! I was furious because it was clear that they had no clue what they were doing while we were there but we were so specific about our order that I could not believe that it was wrong. I called there and spoke to the hostess that took the order. She claimed at first not to remember us - I can assure you I was the only pregnant woman with her husband who ordered take out in person and waited. She asked me what else we ordered and said she would have to call me back. I was clear when I called to tell them of their mistake that I wasn't coming back to get the fajitas as they are at least 20 mins away but wanted them to know about the mistake. The hostess proceeds to tell me that even though she took our order that some other "lady" gave us the food and she should have checked so it was not her fault. I told her that they both work there and it is called customer service. I don't care who placed the order or gave us the food - the order should have been right especially since we had a whole conversation about it. She calls back and says "this is the hostess from Rancho Chico and I know you said you live 45 mins away but you only paid $9.75 for the quesadillas and the fajitas are $15 so you would have to drive here and return the quesadillas before they would place an order for the fajitas" Can you even imagine? My in laws own a restaurant, my husband is a chef and this just blew us away. I told her again that I was NOT driving back there and returning the quesadillas and that the service and communication at that restaurant is awful and that they lost a customer. They could care less. Not to mention they got $8 out of us for a tin full of romaine lettuce with four tomato slices so I think we are even when it comes to the fajitas. We will not be back and after dining there and getting take out and being disappointed and thoroughly annoyed after each experience I suggest no one visit there. Good luck to Rancho Chico on staying in business if they keep this up.

Been to Rancho Chico many times. Portions were larger when they first opened. Salsa was thicker then too. The place was once a chinese restauraunt, now it is a kitchy mexican restauraunt with great food, stiff drinks, and all of the nachos and salsa you could want. My favorite dish is the Burrito Assado. lovingly wrapped flour tortilla Loaded with rice, beans, tender skirt steak, blanketed in melted cheese, drizzled with tomatillio sauce, topped with lettuce and tomatos and finally a dolop of sour cream and guacamole. Careful! plate is hot! The facilities I find are clean, well maintained, and well stocked. I am very pleased with the wait staff who are very friendly and generous with the nacho chips and salsa. For a few bucks more you can enjoy those chips with a rather good guacamole. Their menu is sizeable, and though their portions have shrunk over the years, the portions are very good. 4 stars.... The only bad thing about the place is that the burrito assado is so damn good, I have yet to try most of what is offered on the menu. Great first impression led me back to enjoy again and again. The price has climbed a bit also but well worth it if you really are craving mexican food.

Rancho Chico is as good as it gets! By far the best Mexican Restaurant in the RI/MA area...and I should know, I have tried them all. I frequent Rancho often and have taken many people and made regulars of everyone I have brought along with me. The service is great, portions generous, food super flavorful , margaritas delicious, and the best guacamole I have had yet! If you like Mexican....you will not be disappointed. GO!!!!!!!

OK i do not like Mexican ,,hahah soo this was a huge risk for me to go here... i was in a group that loved this place so i gave it a chance(had to) .. easily located on RT1 which is nice. The people who work there are so nice. We sat in the bar area at a high top. nicely decorated very traditional Mexican look. The bar was popping so the drinks must be good so we order food and drinks, i split (with my friend) a steak quesadilla and a burrito dish... i think it was Rancho burrito ground beef. the food was so good it was fresh and very genuine flavors. The drink i had was a bikini tini it was frozen and the owner knows a girl in our group so he gave it to us for free a free round!! HELL YES! it tasted like summer in a martini glass I SWEAR! it was amazing! the owner is so funny and hes really a nice guy! say hi to him, he runs a great show over at Rancho. The Server was really quiet but on target... clearing and asking how we were. The price was moderate but only for the burrito. The quesadilla was cheaper... but worth it because you wont go home and be up all night in the bathroom, so you wont regret this place... something is really fresh in their food where it doesn't make you sick., so that's good ! lol

I love it here! Fantastic and flavor rich food. I'm also a huge fan of the watermelon margarita, on the rocks, sugar no salt.

Food is good. Servers are friendly - they remember us and say welcome back (or good to see you again) when we come in. Drinks always come out quickly.

What can turn a bad day into a better one than a delicious margarita on the rocks and a burrito that is probably twice the size of your face.

  • Peter L.

The service was great, very accommodating, willing to make changes to the menu selections. Since my wife loves guacamole she would have preferred more with her salad. We would certainly eat there again.

    (4)
  • Ali R.

So sad.
