Great place! I can't wait to go back. Delicious food and very big portions We ordered appetizers and entrees but you can definitely order entree only as the portions are bigger than you can eat :-) if you want to try good, authentic Greek food go there :-)

Boy my mom loves this place. Huge amounts of food and at some point I need to come back for the Greek fare. Seems like we're always here for b-fast and that was the case today. I had an egg white veggie omelet which was very nice. Served with a pile of potato hash that didn't quite match the healthy plate I was going for but easy enough to ignore. If there was a fruit cup option or another healthy side, I would have been thrilled. Tried some of mom's cbh that's touted as "homemade" on the menu. Hormel out of the can would be better. Way too salty and mushy. Anyway, if you like huge portions and don't mind putting up with the wait... this is your kinda joint.

Pretty good Greek diner, sort of more upscale than Jersey-style and seems very family-friendly. They offer a ton of variety with typical diner food (breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, etc.) and their Greek specialties (grape leaves, gyro, souvlaki). I had the souvlaki and gyro combo plate my first time but then just stuck with a gyro plate every time after. They have the best gyro meat in the area, second only to the ones I can get at a Greek festival. The servings are big--enough for 2 meals--and I eat way more than I should normally. The plate comes with a nice Greek salad with lots of feta, really soft and fluffy rice pilaf, warm pita, and tangy tzatziki. Everything is tasty! I've tried the reuben and some appetizers like the fried zucchini and buffalo tenders before too. The sandwich didn't really stand out, but both the appetizers were great. The buffalo tenders are slathered in sauce and the tenders are really meaty. Yummy! But I don't think I'd come here specifically for anything but the gyro plate, so definitely get that if you're here.

It's a busy neighborhood restaurant serving delicious brunch and authentic Greek dishes. Recently renovated so the dining area is clean and modern. The open kitchen is really nice. Expect to wait 20-30 min. if you get their for brunch on weekends. Food is delicious and the service is really good.

After reading great reviews and looking at online menu I tried gyro souvlaki combo. As you can see someone posted a a pic here, huge portion, looks great, but...meat was way over cooked and dry. Rice, bread and salad were good. Staff friendly but not too attentive.

Hands down best french toast this side of the mason dixon line. I come here almost every weekend for breakfast. Even if there is a line of people waiting to get in, you never wait too long. The staff are friendly and efficient. My husband likes it because he can get lunch food and I like it because I can get breakfast. Definitely try the Brothers Kouzina Combo. Very good!

After shopping in the Denver area we were starving for some delicious food so we decided to drop in at Brothers Kouzina. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly quiet but it very quickly got busy. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean which made our dining experience that much better. The waitress we had was very polite and attentive and the food was amazing. I purchased a steak sub which was delicious while my partner bought the chicken gyro which she thoroughly enjoyed. The other people we were dining with bought breakfast items and had only great things to say about their omelettes and pancakes. In the end this was a great stop to make on an empty stomach and we will definitely stop here again in the future because the food was that good.

Wednesday night, after a long day started at 5 AM, on our way to home we stopped at Brothers Kouzina! We had a really HUGE dinner! Portions are abundant, food is good, veggies look and taste fresh, and the waitress was really kind (I think her name is Melly: thank you anyway!)

The BEST place around. The nicest people work here. Breakfast is amazing no matter what you order. The pancakes are crazy good and huge. My favorite entree is the haddock. Unbelievable. So much better than the "legal" restaurant down the street. Large portion and super fresh.

It depends on what you order but there are a few 5 star items I sometimes crave: moussaka, the artichoke appetizer, and the lamb stew. Their rice and side salad are good too. The veggie sides are bland otherwise. Gyro meat is dry and the gyro wrap is lacking flavor (needs more white sauce with garlic I think and the pita bread is sometimes hard). Overall it's a good place and nice people. 5 stars for the items I love. :-)

Whatever you do DONT order the special burger with mushrooms, roasted peppers, and carmelized onions! I asked for the burger to be cooked medium!!!! Came out WELL DONE!! sent it back came out again WELL DONE!! All veggies were ice cold!! Sting beans in red sauce freeeeeeeeeezing!!!!!!!! Ooooh nooooo!!!!! Not a good experience!!! How do you NOT know MEDIUM???? and sauté the poor veggies n melt the dam cheese before bringing it out to the customer!! Poor waitress was so apologetic!! Not her fault!! Still left 20%!!! Wnt be there anytime soon again!! New renervations,,,,prices go up!! quality of food goes down!!

This visit was very disappointing. I particularly wanted to go here because my friend who's culture is focused around Greek family, hospitality and food has always told me great things about this restaurant. The waitress was very nice, however the food was not up to par. I ordered the Grape leaves and they came cold. It wasn't until 20 minutes later she finally came back over to ask how everything was and I has not touched the dish. The waitress offered to fix the order and didn't put anything of mine on the bill except my wine... But still I obviously left very hungry!! ( I went down the street when we left and got a slice of pizza) The funny thing about the food being not so good was that the table across from us had a similar issue with the hummus not being fresh. The manager came over and addressed the issue but didn't for our table? The couple whom had this issue with their hummus was an older gentlemen and the manager seemed very tentative and apologetic for his displeasure. My group of girlfriends are all around 28-29, we are adults and in the very demanding medical field. So it's hard to get us all together with our crazy work schedules! We aren't young kids looking to leave a waitress with a cheap tip or chew and screw! when we go out we spend our hard earned money on establishment to enjoy ourselves and by not having the female manager address our concern, I thought this was very un-professional. Maybe next time we will have a better experience, if we ever go back.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Dickens would have loved Brothers. No other way to describe this place. Some dishes are fantastic, others are ordinary or worse. Starting with the good: their side order of bacon is huge, as is their hash(one of the best I've eaten, not overly spiced and chunks of corned beef within). The cheeseburger club is a 10 out of 10. This is one of the few places that actually knows how to put a club sandwich together and when asked for well-done fries, they come out brown and crispy. We've also enjoyed most of the Greek specialties. On the bad side is breakfast. The omelettes are flat, not fluffy, and usually over cooked. The home fries are just the opposite, cold, hard and flavorless. And their breakfast prices are some of the highest around, so you would expect the food quality to be somewhat better than it is. I keep coming back for the cheeseburger club, I've even ordered Itfor breakfast. But for breakfast, Red's and Kayla's are better options. I must add that the waitstaff is efficient, and turnover is pretty quick, so even if you see a line, it moves quickly.

Came in for lunch. Very friendly hostess and waiter. Ordered the restaurant's signature omelet. It was over cooked and tasted like rubber. Home fries were good. Will have to skip breakfast here next time.

The frequent question for one seeking breakfast on Route 1 in Peabody is "Red's or Brother's?" You can't go wrong with either one and most people hop back in the car and drive an additional mile up route 1 to Red's if the line is too long at Brothers. This visit was for breakfast and for a Sunday morning at 11, the wait for 2 was decent at 15 minutes. During past trips to Brother's I've ordered Greek meals (mousaka) and lunch food (burger and steak tips), both of which were better than average. This time I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette served with homefries and wheat toast. I also added a single buttermilk pancake on the side. It was your average breakfast fare. The omelette was well-prepared and luckily wasn't very greasy, although I didn't appreciate the american cheese which brought the taste down significantly. Bacon was wrapped around the omelette, a nice touch. Home fries were average, a bit dry and not very crunchy. The pancake was good, although again the Aunt Jemima syrup brought the taste down significantly. I'd stick with butter on the pancake to enjoy it. The staff and ambiance were decent. Waitress was fast and attentive, always refilling our coffee. Next time I think I'll continue up the highway to Red's until I have a bad experience there, then float back to Brother's. You can't go too wrong with either. Just avoid dishes with American cheese or cheap syrup that disrupt an otherwise typical breakfast experience.

I've been here a few times for breakfast and dinner. The omelets are very good as well as the corned beef hash. All of the dinner items I've had are tasty and are very generously sized. The wait service was satisfactory and didn't have any problems taking care of us.

My husband and I have met our family here for years, and we love it. Whether you order an omelet with homes fries in the morning or their fabulous avgolemono soup with chicken and tons of lemon at lunch time, you won't be disappointed. Everything is very fresh. I've tried several varieties of their pancakes and they have real maple syrup. Their haddock and chicken is excellent. My husband really likes their eggplant rollatini, chicken kabob and belgian waffles. We always have fun talking to the staff.

We love this place. Both my husband and I were raised on authentic Middle Eastern dishes. These guys come real close to Momma's homemade. My favorite is the stuffed grape leaves. Huge in comparison to what I grew up on! Delish!!

I ordered the gyro for takeout, from the pictures and the reviews it looked to be the best gyro on there menu. When I showed up the ambiance (in my opinion) was sort if a mix between a bar and and a bistro, the woman ringing me out was friendly but it seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. After ringing out I waited for my food for about 3 min then drove home which was about 10 minutes away. When I got home I opened the clamshell the gyro comes in and noticed how big it was, it was gigantic, I didn't know how to eat it so I just went for it. It didn't taste like lamb meat at all an. I'm not sure if it was lamb or beef but it doesn't clarify on the menu. The sauce was only on the pita not throughout so you could barely even tell it was there. Overall is was plain, dry, and tasteless, I couldn't even finnish half of it. If it had the sauce throughout the entire sandwich I might have been able to eat it. I would recommend trying something else.

I like going occasionally. Food is 90% for me. Cheap prices!

I love this place. The food is always amazing. The only reason why it's not getting a 5 star is because one night my boyfriend and I came here 30 minutes before closing, and they wouldn't seat us.

  • Emily D.

I have ordered their gyros for a long time but lately they have not been as good as before. Not sure if they have a new cook. Will give them another shot and see how it goes.

  • Carolyn P.

I tried to eat lunch here the other day. The place was so infested with house flies that we ended up leaving. There were at least 7-8 swarming over our table. To me that screams a dirty place of business. I'll pass and go somewhere without bugs. DISGUSTING

    (1)
  • Cindi W.

Where should I start....slow service? Being ignored? Or overly dry Gyro? Or maybe the fact that I ordered my sandwich with no onion, and my so said I was allergic to onion, and as I got into the middle it was LOADED with red onion! I said something nicely, and then the (expletive deleted) argued with me! I told her she's danged lucky that my issues with onion were only GI and not a true allergy and she still didn't get it. Honestly one doesn't need to pay for bad food and bad treatment. Id rather eat macdonalds. The end :-)

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Every Sat night is Greek Night or simply they've live music. The band is nice, everybody's dancing. Food is sooooooooo delicious! Never been to a live greek music place, but my friend is Greek and took me there! I do not regret it! I loved it! Definitely worth it. Not expensive. But if you're going on a Sat night make sure you make a reservation :) Definitely recommend the place :)

Really great Greek food, reasonably priced and exceptional service. Huge portions and plenty to take home. First time in with the family. We will definitely be back.

If you like Greek food this can be a good choice. I had moussaka and I like it even if I had to add some salt to it. Portion was large and mash potato side was huge and again no salt. Fry calamari were just ok. Service was good.

I've only had breakfast here, but everything is always great!! The service, the food, and drinks!

    (4)
  • Christina H.

Oh wow, yum! Best gyro meat since I visited the little stalls at the PX in Germany. Prices are reasonable, everything is exceptionally fresh, huge portions and a diverse menu offers something for everyone. Would have given 5 stars, however there is no gluten-free menu and not all dishes provide information on potential allergens (ie moussaka doesn't mention pasta, which is in the item)

    (4)
  • Harold P.

Fancy schmancy? No! But if you are looking for some terrific moussaka, gyro or a tasty fresh Greek salad then this is the place. I have been coming to this place for years and have never been disappointed. Bring your appetite because the plates are huge. Last night my girlfriend and I shared two appetizers and a salad. It was more than we could handle and it was delicious. Service is always fast and attentive. What more do you want?

We have eaten here fairly often over the last few years, but we had brunch there today and it was wonderful! Deanna was our server and, to quote my husband, "She really brought her A game today!" She was friendly and upbeat and very helpful, answering all of our questions. Our food was wonderful and served hot. Deanna was great about keeping our drinks full and was very attentive. I had the Brothers Kouzina Sampler (2 eggs, bacon (or sausage), potatoes and french toast (or pancakes)) and hubby got the Gyro in a pita. Yummy and I must have received FIVE slices of bacon!!! Definitely consider this place when your local breakfast place has a line around the block.

By far, my favorite Greek restaurant! Driving by this place on Rt. 1 north in Peabody, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but I've never had a bad meal here, and I've been plenty. I've ordered some form of Gyro 99% of the time I go there, as it's always fresh (they have a rotisserie carving station you can see from the dining area) and delicious. A friend of mine often gets a pork dish, a regular special they offer, and must like it as he gets it so often. A fresh Gyro with fries, only $10, a great deal!

  • Jow O.

Our favorite breakfast spot. There aren't many great blast spots here on the north shore. This place gets it. Omelettes are awesome. Pancakes are huge and tasty. Benny's are great!

Amazing Greek food. Reasonable prices. The service is outstanding!! I've been coming here for a while and NEVER disappointed. Definitely worth the drive. Best gyro on the north shore.

  • Jim W.

If you order breakfast with bacon, you get at least 5 slices! Did I say 5 slices? I actually got 6 slices with my breakfast Sunday. Very busy on the weekends for breakfast. When looking at the menu, if you see something that you think you might like, don't worry, your gonna love it! Prices are more than reasonable. The place has a full bar. You will never see a bigger plate of food. There was a 15 minute wait on Sunday at noon. These guys can cook and they don't skimp on the portions. Service is always great (this waitstaff make $$$$! and they deserve it. Friendly service too. I'm a fan! Check it out. Just not on Sundays (I don't want to wait any longer. Enjoy.

This might be our favorite restaurant on the North Shore. My husband and I eat dinner here often, usually weeknights. I love the menu (including the traditional Greek salad), the service is quick, and the food quality is top notch. The decor is not great but I think the consistency of the high quality food and service absolutely offsets any lack of ambiance. I am especially fond of the artichoke in lemon sauce appetizer and the Greek style green beans (in a tomato sauce) are delicious!

    (5)
  • Rachel T.

I really love this place. They not only have great Greek food (I haven't tried any other menu items), but their breakfast is awesome as well. Affordable and delicious. The staff is always very friendly and the portions are gigantic. This place will not disappoint.

  • BandonAddict O.

Gyro & Fries (photo) The gyro meat was a little on the dry side (like a soft jerky). It certainly wasn't inedible, but not the tastiest gyro meat I've had. However, the tzaziki sauce was super thick & creamy and the pita was soft & chewy on the inside and crunchy & toasted on the outside...perfect! I think I'll give this place another shot.

  • Christa S.

Dinner was good, portions are gigantic and my boyfriend and I both have tiny stomachs. Service was good. Everything was just good. I want to get the lamb next time.

Horrible. Crappy semi-Greek fast food. We stopped here on Saturday about 1pm in search of an "authentic" Greek restaurant, lke the sign out front says. We typically go to the Corner Greek in Cambridge which is always good food but as we're on the N Shore, it isn't always convenient and the parking can be tough. So after passing this place several times, we gave it a try. First and LAST time. No hostess at the desk when we entered, no sign telling you to seat yourself so after standing there waiting a few minutes, we finally went and sat down in a booth. The wait service was slow, no smile from the server when she finally showed. The menu read more like a Dennys or diner than Greek. I ordered the Gyro whch I later learned was not lamb and beef like at Corner Greek, but pork. Nothing on the menu saying what it was, and granted, I should have asked, but...And very dry, tasteless pork at that. I can't eat pork so after a couple of bites and flagging the unsmiling server and asking, back it went and she then brought me a chicken gyro whcih was even more tasteless. My partner had a turkey sandwich which he described as 'meh', with a shrug of his shoulders. Described on the menu as ' roasted turkey', it looked like pre-packaged deli meat from Shaws. Menu lists both meals as "with fries' but I think we got about 5 fries each. AND - the catsup was so watered that it flowed out of the bottle like milk. Ugh. Server never checked on us to see if we needed anything during the meal and while she wasn't rude or nasty, she was just going thru the motions (barely). The place has terrible accoustics - the noise level is jarring. The food is WAY WAY WAY too overpriced for the quality and this was a totally unpleasant experience. Back to the Corner Greek it is, for us. Way better food for less money. Would welcome recommendations for other (good) Greek restaurants in the North of Boston area that we haven't discovered yet. Love Zo at Faneuiel and at Gov Center for lunch, and while they use pork/beef on their gyros, the chicken gyros is fantastic. Any other suggestions? And now I'm really hungry. LOL.

If you have a chance to dine here and you pass it up, shame on you! My wife and I arrived rather late to have dinner. The hostess (very attractive young lady which is irrelevant but let's face it doesn't hurt) had her coat on and packages in her hand clearly ready to leave after what we assume was a long day. She promptly put her packages down, removed her coat, smiled and cheerfully escorted us to our seat. Our drink order was taken shortly thereafter by what appeared to be a manager. I asked for coffee but only if it was fairly fresh. She was unimpressed with its freshness and made a fresh pot. The waitress was the next on the scene and meticulously explained various menu items to insure we got exactly what we found most appealing. We both ordered the Kouzina deluxe dinner and it was fantastic with generous portions. For the price, this all made for an exceptional dining experience. This is my first 5 star rating and my only regret is that I can't give them 10. Bon Apitite!

I love this place! Always good, never disappointed . Food is always consistent . Fried calamari is nice and crispy but could use a little seasoning..but definitely try it! The lamb with the red sauce potato & string beans is amazing!!! So far the best authentic Greek food I've tried so far but open for suggestions ! :-)

I have heard about this place from greek people who swear by the food. They are right- the food is amazing. Portions way too large but everything home fresh cooked and delicious. The missing star is for the zoom service. Running around and hurrying to get everything out to the table. Slow down. Take a minute to listen and be present. We had to ask the bus girl for explanations, water, and just some general calmness. I think the owner should ease up a bit. Brought home tons of food. Avoid the baklava. Too weird. The galataboureki dessert was delicious and worth it. Crisp and creamy rich without being too sweet. Baklava? Like a soggy log with cinnamon on it. We will be back (probably more than once) and we will not eat all day cause i am sickly stuffed with goodness.

  • Lesly O.

Went there with my husband last night thinking it would be an all Greek menu. Not the case. They have a couple of greek items, their gyro meat is great!!! My husband got the lamb in red sauce, which is a signature dish, and it tasted like it was only cooked in dill with no salt or anything. The veggies and rice were bland! I got the Chicken Broccoli Penne, which was tasteless and the pasta was super undercooked. The waitress was great!!!! No judgement on her or the restaurant's atmosphere, just the food..... Which was really disappointing! Will not be going back!

The food is always great...portion sizes are always huge BUT my only complaint...THE FLYS. We've been there a million times...breakfast, lunch, dinner and even Easter one year. And of course the food is always what we've come to expect...but there are always flys buzzing around the place...which is sort of a downer in a restaurant. One of those blue zapper things, strategically placed, could take care of it. Not sure why they haven't invested in one or two. But that's the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star....spending time dodging or trying to keep it from landing on the food deserves a -2 star.

Excellent food, friendly server, and OMG the portion sizes are huge!!! Arrived after a long day of flights on the recommendation of our hotel (Marriott Springhill Suites) We were not disappointed! Calamari, artichoke hearts, souvlaki , Greek salad, eggplant primavera, gyros, and sirloin tips. Good thing there were doggie bags! Our three teens gave it the seal of approval! Fast, delicious, and highly recommended!

Went to this place on New Years Eve day with my Godfather - fabulous meal! I can see how at night it would be nice to hang out at the bar (although I have yet to do so). Talked about the place so much - that we here in the office just went again today to try it out for lunch......agan - fabulous! Even though we got take out. Portions are huge; prices are reasonable; Easily substituted double salad instead of rice in our meals. If you are a Greek Food fan - you should go. Gyro; Souvlaki and Spinach pie are all amazing!

Brothers Kouzina is another odd RT1 establishment, however they do offer a decent Greek cusine. As I sit here recollecting my thoughts regarding Brothers Kouzina I'm seriously debating what its overall rank should be 3 or 4. It would be nice to put it at '3+' since overall the food for the most part was good, and the 5 other adults I was with basically liked it and my youngest daughter did as well. One thing that strikes me really odd about this place is that overall all mixed feeling I get from there. Its like the place does not know wither to be more of a fast food take out place or a simi formal restraunt with club atmosphere. The outside resembles more like you want to pick up a roast beef and large fry to go at 1:00 AM, as the parking lot co-exist with the 7-11 gas station and the sign in front looks like it was made for a generic strip mall in a rural community. However inside had basically a nicer ambiance but them you had to mix in some chairs that again looked liked they came from 'Nicks Pizza' or something. The spanakopita was really good and as a general appetizer the table really liked it. I had gyro and to quote another review on this "not the tastiest gyro meat I've had. However, the tzatziki sauce was super thick & creamy" I have could have not said it better. I hear the desserts are good but none of us partook on it, according to my dinning friends who have in the past. The wait staff where pretty courteous and accommodating, no issue there at all, the waiter was pretty engaging to my daughter so kudos there. Overall I would recommend Brothers Kouzina and I really would like to give them 4 starts but I just cannot at this time.

My husband and I love to go here for breakfast. The staff is wonderful and all of the food is super fresh. When I've been there for lunch or dinner, I've never been disappointed. If you go @ lunch or dinnertime you have to try the artichoke francais appetizer. It is out of this world. I highly recommend Brothers Kouzina to anyone in the area!

Food is very good, moderately priced, one problem is gyro meat is not 100% beef, has bacon in it.

The only thing I ever get was the Chicken Lemon Soup and pita bread but it to die for - LOVE IT. They also have a cute Martini Bar but I have yet to check it out. When I find someone to go with I will check it out. Looks cute. I like this place and when I worked nearby I used to go all the time. I recommed this place for sure. I am actually gonna get some soup this weekend. Great Place

I've only been here twice, but it's pretty good. I had the Gyro plate which comes with Greek salad, rice pilaf, and the gyro meat, and pita. My favorites on the plate were the salad and the pita bread. I think next time I may just order that. The gyro meat wasn't bad, but not favorite. It tasted yummy, but not my cup of tea. The ambiance is unique, I wouldn't say too casual, but not fancy either. It's an odd looking restaurant, but don't let that fool you. It seems to do decent business too. My husband got the Grapenut Pudding, which was huge and tasty! My son got a huge cup of ice cream too. The portions are definitely more than enough. I'd give it another chance probably.

NEVER AGAIN! I came here years ago and received literally the WORST service EVER- literally waited for the check after a mediocre meal for 20 minutes while our waitress chatted with the table 2 down from us.. our plates were pushed to the side we were clearly done.. Anyways, My husband who had never been there had been asking for an entire year to go here for lunch and I repeatedly told him I would never go there again.. I finally broke down and went with him only to be proven right.. We ordered the Spinach pie which took 25 minutes to come out- and was not worth the wait.. then our meals (gyros) were completely unsatisfying as well... and again... deplorable service.. now that he has seen it first hand we will never eat there ever again.

For years I considered this as one of the many easy to pass restaurants on Route 1. The other night I wanted desert and I walked in to see what they had for Greek sweets. The place smelled amazing. I regretted eating Mexican food earlier for dinner. Their baklava was made fresh in their kitchen as well as their ghalatoboureko (custard baklava). The ghalatoboureko was amazing! I have yet to sample their dinner menu.

I have never in my life been exposed to Greek food like this. I ordered what I assumed to be a greek staple, a gyro & souvlaki platter. What I got was a massive portion of extremely fatty beef (???!) and chicken skewers made of thigh meat (??!). The chicken was tough and chewy. The beef (sic.) gyro was inedible. Service was good, but this meal measured far short of expectations. I had to stop on the way home for dinner :(

Awesome breakfast - we have never been disappointed and we eat here quite often. Fast, hot food and very friendly staff. Amanda's at the bar on Sunday and she is the best, always smiling! We have had dinner here twice and it's been very good, but breakfast is our favorite.

I used to come here a lot when they first opened. It was decent and close to home. I haven't gone in awhile so this review is from my last visit (years ago). Food was ok, definitely had better. Being Greek myself, I was expecting it to be better than it was. I remember I ordered the gyro plate and asked for extra tzatziki sauce and they charged me an arm and a leg for it; knowing how much it is at the store I was pissed. Also ordered the Saganagi (fried feta cheese) was wicked expensive for the amount of feta you get (one small thin slice). I don't recommend this item! There are better Greek places around, sad to say this one isn't one of them!

We had the grilled octopus special as an appetizer...it was the best octopus I have ever had! All of the Greek food was great....but the appetizer was so big I ended up brining 3/4 of my gyro dinner home.....which was great the next day for lunch!...The only complaint would be the specials are on a board right when you walk in and not anywhere else....the waitress doesn't even mention them unless you ask. Great food....HUGE servings....very reasonable

I love it. Finally I have eaten here! I probably got literally everything. The appetizer portions are pretty big, so be either very hungry or share with a large group. The Mousaka app was huge, easily enough for 4 to share and enjoy and also REALLY good. I recommend the Saganaki (fried cheese). The grape leaves were good, a little large, but delish in a nice lemony sauce. Eggplant rolatini -aweeesoommmme Ok so their menu is pretty big and has something for everyone. One person in my party got a burger (ugh seriously) but they said it was one of the better ones. I got the Deluxe plate which was perfectly seasoned Gyro and Souvlaki over rice with a salad. It was huge and easily could be split or have leftovers. The souvlaki was delicious, a little fatty but it was good. It was my bday and they brought out a really fudgy chocolatey piece of cake, it was really good. All in all I will be back, this place rocks for greek food and they also have some italian, seafood etc. Also, they always seem to be busy for breakfast when I drive by on weekends.

Brother's Kouzina offers a wide variety and the food is always good. Definitely one of the best breakfast places on the north shore, you will pay a little bit more - but worth the extra few dollars. The lunch and dinner menu has something for everyone and very well priced. The gyro plate is one of my favorites as well as the fried scallops and gorgonzola salad. The fajitas are fantastic as well. The ambiance is nice, nothing special but clean and inviting. The same friendly waitstaff is consistent with their service and proactive in filling drinks and bringing condiments. If you are looking for a broad menu and consistently great food and service, give this place a try.

Brother's is a decent place for Route 1. The breakfasts are pretty good, and the lunch and dinner menu is as well. I love Greek food, but some of the dishes seem very cafeteria like, so don't think that you will get a knock you off the seat dinner. Overall a safe bet.

Quite possibly the worst Greek food I have ever had in my life. It was like warmed up geriatric cafeteria food. Had to send my pastichio back twice because it was cold in the center. My friend got the gyros platter and it was chopped up little pieces of fatty beef. Nothing resembling a gyros. When we asked that both meals be removed from the bill we were greeted with huffing and puffing by the wait staff. I have eaten at many Greek restaurants around the US and this takes the prize as the worst. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

It's rare to find a place where you can get a quality meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But you can at Brothers. The staff is friendly, the food is good. What more can you ask for? Okay, delivery. I'd ask for delivery.

Large portions of Greek comfort food at a reasonable price. The chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and french fries on the kid's menu is of the supermarket freezer section variety. We tried three different appetizers with varying results. The fried calimari was average and a little chewy, not very fresh. The artichokes francoise were very good, a breaded fried artichoke heart in a delicious lemon sauce. The steamed mussels were good but having several undercooked un-opened shells was disconcerting. The entrees were enormous no one at our table was able to finish and everyone brought leftovers home. The souvlaki and gyros were both a bit dry but both were well seasoned and tasty. The mousaka was good but not exceptional and the american options were good.

Went here for breakfast yesterday. Huge portions and really good. I got this egg scramble thing with onion, spinach, and feta; it came with home fries and toast. The coffee was decent, could've been better. Prices were pretty reasonable .. especially for the amount and quality of food. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the pancakes were awesome - and HUGE. We sat at the bar. It's very clean, there are TVs, and plenty of room in the place though there was a line for tables. Typical for Sunday morning, though. I'd like to go back for lunch or dinner ... they had a huge menu and it all sounded good.

fabolucious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well.. we stopped in today for lunch and the place was busy as usual.... and of course it is because of the Food.... my wife had the lamb special and it was so tender and tasted so delicious---I had my favorite the lamb chops... they are so good... and of course we both had double servings of the GREEK STYLE GREEN BEANS ---it has such a nice taste... they are so delicious.. and the greek salad ..... and to top it off had the bakalava.... it is loaded with honey and nuts ...NOT just layers and layers of philo.. like most of the restaurants that serve them...THE FOOD IS GREAT HERE.... and my wife and I come here at least 2 times a month....Jackie the waitress was super... too.... yes I have posted before .. but just had to post again...

A definite "meh." My partner and I went here, having seen the throbs of customers several times before- figured that was good evidence of a quality meal. From the greasy seats to the greasy food, this was one greasy disappointment. I give it 2 stars for the decent pancakes (although, please- is it that tricky to make a pancake?!), but the greek sausage I ordered was a greasy mess slapped on to a small plate, sitting in a pile of its own oil- yuck. My partner's food was acceptable but certainly not very good. He ordered the ruben made "with the most select cuts of meat-" selected for fat and gristle, perhaps... And his coffee was easily instant folgers. Perhaps they do better with greek classics, but the sausage was not a good indication of this and I feel strongly that anything a restaurant puts on its menu should stand up to every other item. Needless to say, not coming back here any time soon...

Just had our second meal here and both times have been excellent! Came here for breakfast over the weekend and it was busy and able to get in right away. Food and service was great both visits. Portions were quite large and filling. Looking forward to trying the dinner menu. A hidden gem!

Went here for my birthday, very accommodating for our unique seating arrangements. I can't imagine ever not enjoying myself here. I understand what this place is about... good, filling, Greek-style food. I don't expect any restaurant to perfectly replicate the authentic food that people grew up with eating in their homes and I am always satisfied with the atmosphere and the food. The lamb is truly awesome, tender and succulent. Fish dishes have always been cooked to flaky perfection and never dry. Anyone can go anywhere and just happen to have a bad experience, but I've been here many times with my family and it really is a fine restaurant. If you like Greek food and you understand that it might not be EXACTLY as your "yaya" cooked it, then you'll love Brothers Kouzina.

I love this place. The food is phenomenal and the service is exceptional. Every time that I go here I walk away full and happy. There is ample parking, great food and good wine. I'm talking real Greek food for food lovers. The grape leaves are fantastic. You know what, as I am writing this, I am drooling for them. Let me stop before I short my laptop.

Mmmm Greek food...... Usually to get Greek food you have to settle for a cafeteria style deli. Well Brothers changes that. I have eaten here a few times and the food is always consistently good. The portions are huge, I'm a fat kid and have yet to finish one. I had chicken Marsala and it was excellent, and my lady friend had eggplant parm that she was extremely happy with. I had some souvlaki (average) and their spinach pie (pretty good) both as apps and was completely unable to breath after consuming so much food. The service was excellent, the waitress we had was like having a mom take care of you when you were sick, very attentive and actually appeared to care about our experience. I hear great things about their deserts, but I am always too full to attempt it.

I wish Yelp could some how balance good/bad reviews...because this place is a prime example. 4 star Yelp rating but let me tell you it leaves a bad mark on Greek food...if you know what traditional greek food is. This place is garbage! The food sits around and it gets old, thats why the flavor is off and the food tastes fatty. The place makes business on the weekends for traditional Greeks people because they have greek music and is a perfect joint for any dude who wants a fling....i.e. pickup joint. The servers are rude because they are not taught any differently from "management". When you are driving on route 1 and see the restaurant and think to yourself, Bickfords? It is NOT any longer, but still don't bother with the food. Between the food and the tacky environment, I shall never return.

have been here about 5 times, and have never written a review. once for breakfast, twice for lunch and about 3 times for dinner. I cant review a breakfast, because it was so ago. one of the lunches I had was the baked haddock. fish was cooked good, tasted good, but just a little too much butter/oil, roasted potatoes good and string beans ok, little to "mooshy" for my liking. just went the other night for dinner. got the salmon, mash potatoes, string bean/zucchini for the veg. salmon was cooked ok, not much taste at all. I think if u wanted it blackened it was more $, I could be wrong tho. I had to squeeze to death the tiny piece of lemon I got with it and salt n pepper, it was ok. mash potatoes I had to add butter, salt n pepper and was only room temperature, if that. again, the string bean/zucchini's were mooshy, but tasted ok. my bf got the lamb shanks, roast potatoes and string beans. no complaints from him. we split a greek salad, which had NO olives, and I love olives, so waitress brought us a little cup of olives. salad was plenty for 2 and tasted and looked good. service was good. waitress was attentive enough. host was a very nice gentleman, who seated us within 5-10 mins, ok for a Sat night. overall, I was disappointed w/my meal, but we come back every now and then and im sure that will be the case. prices are reasonable.

Disappointing. We had experienced a great dinner and heard rave reviews about this restaurant...but let us say that our breakfast was not "raveable"..if there is such a word. Our usual fare of 2 over easy, bacon, home fries and hash were all dry tasting and over cooked. Service was fast but our not overly friendly server did not seem to care that our coffee cups were empty. Decor is clean and bright but is more suited to its specialty of an evening Mediterranean menu than a morning breakfast eatery. Come to think of it ..it reminds us of a Chinese Restaurant. Our advice....go there but not for breakfast! The Breakfast Guys.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! MY WIFE LOVES THIS PLACE! I don't know where to start. The sides: Greek style roasted potatoes are not what you would expect, but so worth it - it's like they're roasted/braised. The Greek style green beans cannot be beat, served in a red tomato sauce that's slightly sweet and savory. The Moussaka and Pastichio are THE best - imagine the big ole slabs of these with roasted potatoes and green beans -OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH! The lamb kokinisto is great - braised lamb in a red sauce - great. It's definitely not a strict Greek restaurant, they serve Italian and American food as well. The desserts are incredible, baklava, chocolate cake, cheese cakes -wooooo. Here's the best part, I recently found out that they serve breakfast - really good breakfast. Huge pancakes, great omelets, Greek sausages, kielbasa. Brother's Kouzina is the best.

I've been to Brothers Kouzina twice now, and both times I've been equally impressed with both the quality and quantity of food that I've been served. The first time I visited, my boyfriend and I both got souvlaki plates - an ENORMOUS plate filled with three extra-long skewers filled with meaty chunks of delicious, lightly-charred pork, rice pilaf, and a greek salad. Neither of us could finish everything on our plates, and I must say that the food was absolutely, wonderfully, amazingly delicious. The service is worth noting, as well - our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, happily explaining some of the menu options to us - a pair of very-non-Greek boys who were eager to try something new and exciting. She also promptly refilled our soda countless times, and we never had to ask for our refills - not even once. The second time we went, my boyfriend got a chicken kabob, which was one of the daily dinner specials. It consisted of tender chunks of delicious, seasoned chicken, rice pilaf, and a heaping mound of vibrant-looking roasted vegetables. I ordered the grape leaves as an entree, and I was thrilled with what was delivered to the table - two bulging, fist-sized grape leaves, stuffed with perfectly-seasoned ground beef and rice and drenched in a tangy lemon sauce, with some tasty rice pilaf and asparagus on the side. Both times, we left for under $40 INCLUDING the tip. Normally, this would be toward the top of my typical restaurant price range - but the huge portions and the quality of the food make the extra cost totally worth it. So why not 5 stars? In all honesty, the guy at the front desk who seats people always seems just a little grumpy... not mean or anything, just not really friendly. Also, the last time we went, the service was still really friendly and generally efficient, but they all seemed just a little bit over-stretched. The tension between all of the servers was palpable, like maybe there were a few sick calls from their co-workers or maybe just more customers than they would normally expect at that time of day. All in all, this is a GREAT choice for someone who's looking for a local restaurant with delicious food, large portions, and a classy-casual atmosphere.

Came here with some of my co-workers for lunch. Their menu is huge - I, being Greek, stuck to the Greek items on the menu since I assumed they paid attention to those items the most. The portions are huge! Got the stuffed grape leaves - several huge meatballs with rice (I prefer the smaller versions of them), nonetheless tasty. The Saganaki (Pan-fried cheese) was delicious! I had a gyro for my main meal - sooo good! They make the authentic kind - with shaved pork meat. Only thing I was bummed about was that they didn't put the fries in the sandwich like they do in Greece. A couple co-workers got the Gyro plated meal - filled to the rim with food! Definitely recommend this place for Greek food and the prices are reasonable as well.

I came here on a search for grape leaves, one of my favorite foods ever. I was not all that impressed. The grape leaves were ok. The glasses seemed a bit dirty. The wait staff was not very prompt. Perhaps I just need to go back again and try other things, but at first glance, I'm not impressed.

We just had breakfast. Reasonable prices, loads of food, hot and really yummy! Service was excellent. Of course this weekend being just after Thanksgiving there was quite a line, but it moved quickly. We will be back for sure! Next time I'm trying lunch!!!

I have been here multiple times & the Greek food is great. I love the roasted lamb plate, it reminds me of a delicious home cooked meal. The meat falls off the bone & the lemon potatos are yummy. That is my favorite meal so far, but they all have been good. The price & service are very reasonable:) Cannot wait to go again

Been here a couple of times and food is always solid and consistent. Excellent Greek salads, homemade Gyro and just good food overall. Can be a bit pricy for lunch as most items are $9.99 and up on the lunch menu but the portions are HUGE. Easily get lunch the next day or dinner that night though.

I like this place. It has some really good Greek dishes (although you have to sift through all the American ones). The gyro sandwich is great with good tsiziki sauce. The mousaka is awesome too. All the Greek dishes I've found to be authentic and well worth driving to. One interesting thing I found was that on Saturday night they bring in live music and play Greek music and club tunes. Lots of people show up who all seem to know each other. Probably friends and family of the owner since they are all speaking Greek to each other. Overall a good place to check out, especially if you like Greek food.

My boyfriend and I love this place. The Lamb Kokonisto is fantastic! It's two giant lamb shanks braised in a delicious greek red sauce. I highly recommend trying the Greek roasted potatoes and the green beans as your sides. It's excellent comfort food! My boyfriend loves their mussels as an appetizer or even as a meal. You'll want a spoon to finish up all the broth. Yum! This place is definitely worth the hike up treacherous Rte. 1.

It is a very nice place, the waitresses are friendly, the food is tasty, what else one could ask for ? The menu is of an americanized greek variety, you will find kabobs, salads, tsatsikis, dolma along with burgers, french fries and steaks. A lot of lamb choices on the menu. The portions are very large, we box I think most of our meals, it is physically impossible to finish. The place is kids friendly, there is a separate small kids menu, mostly burgers, mac and cheese, etc. Make sure to try the baklava for desert, it is excellent. Not as good as Armenian, but pretty darn close. Rated 5/5, much recommended.

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. He is also mediterranean and is so happy to have found a place that serves authentic souvlaki and gyro plates. The combo plate which includes both, comes with 2 skewers of souvlaki and authentic gyro meat shaved onto your plate. It comes with a heaping scoop of pilaf, salad, warm pita, and tzatziki.... I get the same thing but with chicken kabob..... the food is absolutely delish and the service is very good as well.... I always get the avgolemeno soup(greek chicken egg lemon) as a starter as well! Another good choice is the cheese pies or the grapes leaves. Anyone will love this place, especially because they give the choice between authentic greek cuisine or traditional american/italian dishes. Theres something for everyone! Enjoy!

I wish this place was closer, or IN, Boston. I love Greek food and normally go to the Greek Corner in Cambrige. However, I went here a while back and really enjoyed my meal. Not as good as Greek Corner, but was definitely some of the better Greek food I've had in a while. Portions were very generous and reasonably priced. I got the Chicken Kabob entree. So good. Served tons of veggies, rice, salad, pita bread. Yummy. I also got their egg lemon soup which was very light, but very flavorful as well. The atmosphere is no frills, and I can envision it getting a little loud and chaotic in there on the weekends... but I also think it would be worth it!

Came here on a non-busy night (Sunday) for dinner. The decor was unassuming but neat, but the real star was the Greek food. The food here is AMAZING. The mousaka is hand-down the best I tasted anywhere, the meat dishes were cooked competently (both gyro and souvlaki), and the salads were tasty. Would recommend to anyone wanting good, tasty Greek food.

This Greek-inspired restaurant was founded by the same guy who founded all those Brothers' Delis all over the North Shore. I've been a customer at Jimmy's Salem location in Salem (which he sold a few years ago) for about a decade. But Brothers' Kouzina is unlike all those others. This is a real sit-down table service restaurant, although the menu will be quite familiar. The old deli has moved upscale a few marks, which is a good thing, adding a full-service bar to its repertoire as well. The atmosphere is dark, but not dingy. The waitress and maitre d' were friendly and courteous. While the menu has some variety of American and other cuisines, the specialty is obviously Greek. I took the Avgolemono (chicken and lemon) soup as my appetizer along with a Greek salad. My wife order the gyros. The soup was hot and tasty, although I prefer it more lemony. The Greek salad had plenty of feta cheese and didn't skimp on the vegetables. My wife's gyros were excellent and tasted great as leftovers. Brothers' Kouzina definitely goes on our list of places to consider when we're thinking of going out for a bite.

I've eaten here many mornings on the way to a hike. Probably the best and only choice for inexpensive, American breakfast on Rte 1: pancakes, french toast, waffles, eggs, omlets, etc. I've not eaten many of their lunch/dinner offerings but they have yummy, garlickly tzatziki and I was pleased to see Horiatiki salad on the menu. I only wish their tomatoes were red-ripe tasty instead of reddish-gray bland. It would make this traditional Greek salad taste much better. The servers are generally friendly and attentive. The interior is welcoming enough. The restroom is clean. Overall, a great value.

I went here for dinner tonight and I was very disappointed. This place was specifically referred to me by my neighbor who's Greek. Greek food here is OK, but I was really turned off by what they charged me for some side of extra tiziki(?) sauce- $3!!!! You're kidding me! Their souvlaki was good but very fatty. Gyro looked like it was some left over meat chopped into pieces. I won't be going back.

awesome authentic Greek food. been here twice now. My Greek friend Stacey introduced me! so you know it's got to be good. Love the Greek salad, Mousaka, Pastichio and Spanakopita, all the standard dishes. they have other stuff here too like burgers and chicken tenders which just seems weird and unnecessary. Just go for the Greek food. it's the best I've found so far.

I am only reviewing the breakfast we had over the weekend. To say nothing was horrible is the best I can do though the homefries and coffee were close.I ordered the western omelet and my wife had poached eggs and the corned beef hash. Her eggs were fine and though salty the hash was tasty. My omelet was acceptable but could have had 1/2 the onions. Here is my main gripe, the homefries. No seasoning no browning just a boiled potato cut into cubes and that was it! Okay they were horrible. The coffee was bitter, perhaps just burnt but in no way acceptable There are to many options out there to have to settle for this.

This place is becoming a favorite of me and my wife. In our experiences, it's not often you find well established, reasonably priced Greek restaurants outside of a city, but Brothers Kouzina definitely meets the bill. The ambience inside is nice, and a pleasant surprise after the somewhat lacking exterior. The service has always been wonderful and usually fairly quick. We had the melted cheese appetizer (which I forgot the name of at the moment), which was delicious. We have been there twice, and both times I have gotten a variant of the souvlaki / gyro dinner. The portions are very generous, and this particular one comes heaped with meat, delicious pilaf, greek salad, pita, and an excellent tzatziki sauce. They also have a decent "house" wine at a low price - not something you see often in America. We will definitely be returning here to explore the menu further. EDIT: Several months later, and I have to say this is absolutely my favorite restaurant on the north shore. I've strayed from my favorite gyro dinner a few times, and had a fantastic pasta. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Not quite a Greek restaurant so much as a restaurant that has Greek food. They have twice as much non-Greek food as they do Greek food. They have delicious Greek plates such as moussaka, pastichio and souvlaki as well as an extensive menu with pasta, steaks and the like. This would be a fantastic place to take an indecisive group of people out for dinner, as they have a little of everything. The decor was surprisingly modern, considering the drab exterior. Everything is absolutely delicious and filling, but I was a little disappointed that their Greek options were so limited. Regardless, I will be back.

I have been here a couple of times for dinner and once before for their Greek night on Saturday nights and i didnt really have a HUGE problem with it till now. I went on this past Saturday night and was excited to listen to some good Greek music and eat some food but unfortunately it wasnt that great of an experience and left before the band went on to play. When we arrived we were told we need to sit by the bar because the other side was for reservations, which is fine no problem. As we were seated we were given 2 plates and 2 silverware settings (there was 4 of us) and my group was being patient enough to see if someone was going to bring us more but it never happened. Our waitress was rude and not at all friendly! She came over and introduced herself and told us that the kitchen would be closing at 10 so if we wanted something for dinner we would need to place the order within a good time frame and we understood that but said we were going to only order appetizers which was fine. She took our drink order but for some reason gave us an attitude and rolled her eyes at us, TWICE which was just rude since we ordered a quick drink order. After waiting a little bit another waitress came over to our table and asked if we were ready to place our orders and we told her no not yet we are only ordering appetizers and she informed us that they are closing the kitchen in 10 minutes so no dinner entrees which we understood the first time around. After receiving our drinks we ordered our appetizers which was calamari, fried cheese, salata, greek meatballs. We were just not happy with the food as we all have been here before and was just surprised. After the food arriving at our table we asked the person who delivered our food if we could have 2 more plates and 2 more silverware sets and we were only given 1 silverware set and nothing else so we had to ask AGAIN which then we got 2 plates and then once we asked AGAIN we got the other silverware set. Does someone really need to ask so many times for a set of silveware to accomdate the amounf of poeple that are at the table? 1. The fried cheese tasted as if they poured a bucket of salt on top and it was really uneatable. 2. The calamari was very greasy and left the plate just as greasy as well. 3. The meatballs were alright but nothing spectacular. 4. One of the martini's (the Hollywood one to be exact) tasted horrible and was not even drinkable so that was a waste. Anyways I was not happy with the service this time around and mostly wont go back and just drive to Newton to Farmer's Grill and be happier there. There is no reason why a waitress needs to be rude and roll her eyes at a customer.

Finally, we made a visit to Brothers Kouzina. What a wonderful place...unassuming in the sense that it is right next to a 7/11 gas station/market but don't let the surroundings fool you! We shared two apps - the sanagaki and eggplant rollatini - both were divine. I opted for the gyro plate...it was good but I did find some of the pieces of meat were sort of dry. My husband got the lamb "konikisto" (I am sure I am spelling that wrong!) with the greeen beans for a side. We always discuss who made the better dining selection for our meal and last night he won. Will we go back, YOU BET!!

For full disclosure, we ordered takeout, so it might be better if you eat there. My husband had pastitisio and found several tiny bones in the ground meat. Yuck. I ordered the gyros plate and it was basically shredded fat with a hint of meat. Very disappointed after the reviews on yelp. They do have a very large and varied menu, so maybe the other options are better. We will not be back.

I'd say that the menu is Greek-inpsired. You will definately find Greek options, as well as Italian & American options as well. The atmosphere is fun & lively. We went around 8 pm on a Friday night, and the restaurant & bar area were full. We got one of the last tables. The waitress & host (who looked like the owner) were extremely friendly. The rolls were good. I had the horiatiki salad, which was tasty, and huge, so it's definately something to share. The pita bread served with the salad was incredible. My entree was lamb kabob, but my lamb was not well done & it was supposed to come with tomatoes, and did not. Also, the side of sauteed veggies was underdone and not tasty. The lamb was delicious. My boyfriend had chicken, broccoli, & penne with a spicy marinara sauce. That was just OK, nothing inspired, and the sauce was not spicy. Our waters were not kept filled. I would go back; he would not, though I think he would like a burger there. I might try to convince him to try breakfast there.

My wife and I have gone here for breakfast a number of times and really enjoyed the food and service. They get pretty busy at breakfast/lunch time on weekends, but it's worth the wait. We just went to dinner there and were amazed at the serving size. My wife's cheeseburger was one of the best she's had, and the gyro I got was gigantic and extremely tasty. I was also impressed by their dessert prices - $3.75 for many of them and they were sized just right following a large entree.

I was so disappointed after reading all the great reviews. We were ready for some great greek food. The portions were huge and fresh as described but that makes it all the more disappointing as so much went to waste. I ordered the Gyro platter and my husband got the deluxe platter with Gyro and soulvaki. Everything was so fatty and chewy it was inedible. The Gyro seemed to be all beef no lamb but was otherwise nicely seasoned. The waitress was very nice but we still wound up paying $30 for a dinner that mostly sat on the table. The one star is for the service. Every one was very nice.

I've been to two other Brother's before I had come here. Both had the cafeteria set up, but this one was different. It was actually a restaurant. Has your typical greek menu and we decided to split the salad, be forewarned!!!! Their portions are ginormous. It puts the Cheesecake Factory to shame. The salad was enough to feed 6 ppl and we thought we were getting appetizers. The food is good, quality food and the portions are ridiculous. My other half got the marinated chicken breast and I swear it was half a chicken and not just the breast. Overall, a really pleasant experience. I had to deduct one star cause of the draft that was at the booth seating. I had to eat with my coat on, but it was still really good food.

I've tried this place twice. The first time was when it first opened, and the service was a disaster. The food was not memorable, as I can't remember what we ordered. I went back last night because I had been given a gift certificate. The gentlemen at the door walked us three feet to our table and dropped the menus on the table and walked away. I ordered the chicken marsala and spinach pie as an appetizer. The chicken was inedible. First bite=grizzle (on chicken? c'mon!), second bite=grizzle, third bite=chicken skin. The whole dish was absolutely tasteless. My husband wanted me to send it back, but I brought it home for the dog. I will not go back here even if I get another gift certificate.

I'm always more amazed when I see 5 stars at restaurants I didn't care for then the other way around. This is one of those cases. Appearance-wise the place is built mire for accommodating lots if people then atmosphere. Not expecting much, I ordered the gyro which should be the easiest thing to do right. It wasn't. First of all the gyro is pork and beef which is actually pretty authentic as Lamb Gyro seems to be an american thing and hard to find when in Greece. That said, the spices should still be there and this was about as bland as I have ever tasted meet to be. As also noted, everything is also very fatty (my wife had the souvlaki too). The rice pilaf was good, as was the tzatziki. I won't be going again and will continue looking for good greek on the North Shore.

My boyfriend and I went here as a treat on Valentine's Day. The ambiance was certainly romantic. It was dimly lit and if I remember correctly, the walls were a deep red/maroon. We started with a hefty size Greek salad- the American style Greek salad, with lettuce, feta, etc. I love a nicely made Greek salad and this one was well done with all fresh veggies and hefty servings of feta and olives YUM! My boyfriend had the spanakopita and I had some sort of chicken and pasta dish that was very lemony and had feta. We thoroughly enjoyed both entrees. The meal was finished with a perfect piece of baklava. We arrived at about 6 and were seated immediately, though by the time we were eating our entrees there seemed to be a wait. Our waitress was pleasant, though clearly busy. In conclusion, my boyfriend and I enjoyed a pleasant and relaxing Greek American meal at Brother's Kouzina (the one on route 1 Peabody) and would definitely return.

The only thing that keeps this from being 5 stars is that the food was overly salted. My wife and I have been looking for good, traditional Greek restaurant food on the North Shore for years. Any MIT/Harvard grads old enough to remember the Acropolis, the Averof, or the Athenian Taverna on Mass Av in Cambridge knows the kind of food I'm talking about. The shish kebab, baked lamb, chicken-egg-lemon soup, rice pilaf, and galatabouriko (spelling?) custard all brought back very fond memories. Ask for Greek coffee - it's not on the menu. The owner stopped by our table when we ordered it.

The food and service were very good. Decent sized portions and served very quickly. My only reservation is it seemed kind of pricey, maybe a few dollars more per entree than seemed fair. Otherwise, not bad at all.
