I am ruined for all other future waffle cones/cups, this place has the best by far. The ice cream is top notch as well. One of the best ice cream experiences I have ever had. If you can, go during non-peak hours to avoid a line.

Yummy ice cream. Nantucket prices. Very good on a warm day! Pumpkin pie spice and coffee ice cream!

Got the flavor of the day Turtle Soup. Light butterscotch ice cream with turtles and marshmallows in a homemade waffle cone. The ice cream is all homemade and delicious as well as the warm freshly made waffle cone. The wait on a regular night is about 30 mins but don't let the line scare you away from this. Also if you forget cash (which is all the accept) there is an ATM inside, so don't run out of line to get cash if you forgot some

The ice cream and homemade waffle cones are amazing! This was the best thing ever. I stopped here to get ice cream before the ferry ride back to Hyannis. It's quick and convenient and incredibly delicious. They have a wide variety of flavors and toppings. The staff were very friendly and patient. I would definitely recommend to stop at the Juice Bar before leaving the island!

Very good ice cream! Pistacio is really nice. Even for european standards ;P Selfe-made waffels. The queue might be very long though.

Waiting patiently in line has never been one of my virtues. So much so that I am almost always unwilling to wait on any long line for anything, preferring to find another means to whatever my end might be. I broke that rule recently when my husband and brother-in-law had an urge for ice cream and only The Juice Bar would do. I groaned when I saw the line wrapped around the corner but being the agreeable sort, I joined the crowd. yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… This is summer on Nantucket. Waiting for things in town seems to be the order of the day. The line moved more quickly than I thought but perhaps that was because I was with the world's two most chatty and social beings on the planet who made friends with everyone near us. Once we made it through the actual doors of the establishment, we were cheek to jowl with a crowd of people in what is a tiny place but it was all ultimately very civilized. It was like reaching the finish line after a marathon when we were actually able to place our orders. yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… I got a double scoop; one of maple walnut and one of coconut ice cream in a home-made waffle lined cup (the cone is generally too messy for the neat-nik in me). The ice cream was really creamy and flavorful and while not the very best I've ever had, it was delicious. The sweet waffle was the star of the day and was really good. There are loads of flavors from which to choose. It's hard to pick just one or two! There are lots of other things you can get here like a brownie to go with that ice cream or smoothies and of course juices...as it is called The Juice Bar for a reason. Was my double scoop of ice cream a delicious treat? Yes! Would I wait in that long line again? Probably not. But clearly, that's just me.

Easily one of the best cones there is. Absolutely delicious. Their homemade ice cream is to die for and the waffle cone is unbelievable. Great smoothies too. The line is always absurd but it's worth the wait.

  • Faith R.

Wait on line is always fun. People joined our snapchat which was fun. Ice cream was great! Would have loved Some Cinnamon ice cream! But I love local ice cream spots so it's always nostalgic!

4 1/2 stars. Does anyone even order juice in this place? Maybe in the offseason. Everyone in this joint was ordering ice cream; yummy, delicious, glorious ice cream. Line out the door, hot July sun beating down on us; worth the wait. Cherry chip and banana were huge hits with us. Pricey but everything on any island is jacked up.

Amazing selection of flavors with originality and homemade toppings with waffle cones and bowls. Take the entire family - long line every night, but moves fast with great service !

Great spot in Nantucket. Cake batter on homemade waffle cone was incredible. Friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out.

  • Jaimee A.

Terrific Ice Cream! Fresh and homemade. The place only takes cash or checks from local banks which isn't great, but their ice cream is!! We had: Cake batter ice cream with homemade hot fudge in a waffle cup (also homemade) - terrific. My girls were swiping pieces of the bowl. Brownie a la mode ice cream with marshmallow - the hubby didn't offer to share with me or the kids, so it must have been really good Chocolate with sprinkles & Vanilla with sprinkles on a wafer cone - the girls seemed to enjoy it. Great dessert spot!!

Best place on the island for ice cream, although Millie's Market is a close second. However, the lines are unacceptably long due to the lack of adult supervision on a busy August weekend. We waited 50 minutes I. Line for the "take out" window. The teenage male working it was horrible. He kept sitting on the window ledge and it was taking him way too long to work through the line. They need a second place in the other side of town to cut the lines or higher better staff and management. The girls working inside were running their butts off and the line, which was around the corner, moved 10x faster.

  • Rachel B.

If you come here, you better get the waffle cone or cup! My fave ice cream spot. But If you have a nut allergy, this place isn't for you. Apparently there is almond extract in the waffles!

  • Emily S.

Yes, there are long lines in the summer, it's cash only (or local check), and it's more expensive than a grocery store pint. Yet at this point, it is part of the Nantucket summer experience, and for good reason. Their ice cream is absolutely delicious - what can beat homemade ice cream served in a homemade still warm waffle cone? When you go, get a scoop of your favorite and a scoop of the Crantucket in a waffle cone, and then stroll around town window shopping or, if the pier is open, check out the boats. If you decide against going because of the lines - shame on you, and more ice cream for me.

BEST ice cream EVER!!! the waffle cones are out of this world amazing!

  • Cat L.

Freshly made waffle cones right at the shop. The smell of fresh waffles is amazing. The place is right next to our bike rental, so it was really a no brainer to go in. The line does get pretty long and confusing, as there are more than one spot to order the items. Could benefit from more organization and ways to order. Mostly employing teenagers, thus some teenagers do not know how to make the item. Waited more than 10minutes for 1 watermelon juice, and another 10minutes for a Lime Rickey. The guy didn't know how to make it, and had to be taught by another. The juice was really fresh, no artificial juices were mixed in. Aside from that, great ice cream cone, really good waffles.

Inconsistent and an absolute rip off. Cash only are you kidding me. Soggy waffle cones and rude staff. Lucky to get two stars. FYI the ice cream is so so. Go to The Pharmacy on Main St.

Excellent ice cream but long waits. I had vanilla ice cream and it was spot on. I recommend this to all of the tourists in Nantucket.

  • Sue J.

Not just the best ice cream on Nantucket, it's the best in the WORLD! And I've travelled a lot, and eaten a ton of ice cream. Simply the best, year after year..

  • Ishan C.

I love the juice bar. This is now one of my favorite places to eat in Nantucket. I got the brownie a la mode and enjoyed it a lot. The people were very nice and the overall atmosphere was great! The price was reasonable and I had a great time. The ice cream was very filling though (which some people love). The location was also great. All in all a great place to stop and get a quick snack.

    (5)
  • Sydney W.

I'm not a huge fan of ice cream cones (usually just skip straight to the ice cream) but this was every bit worth the wait!

    (4)
  • Joe L.

I assume there exists another ice cream shop somewhere in downtown Nantucket, maybe even more than one. I apologize in perpetuity to those other notional establishments because I will never, ever sample their wares. The Juice Bar is just too darned good for me to stray. Their flavors are always interesting and out of the ordinary, especially the chocolate Oreo (which you'd think would exist everywhere but doesn't), and their waffle cones and waffle bowls are the most delicious I've ever had. Yes, there's usually a crazy line, but this is one of those times when you have to take a very Zen attitude to your ice cream and accept that it will be worth the wait.

  • Karen Y.

I am amazed at how many people visit The Juice Bar at any given time. When I first got off the steamship at the Steamship Authority port at around 2:30PM in the afternoon, there was already a crowd of people, each leaving The Juice Bar licking an ice cream cone. At the time, I wasn't feeling that crazy for it, but when it was near time to board the Steamboat again at around 5:00PM, I thought I'd buy one for the trip back to Hyannis. I must have came at the right time because there wasn't really a line, but one or two minutes later, the line was out the door again. The place is really small and can really only accommodate less than ten people who want to stay inside to eat their ice cream. There are a bunch of registers though to take orders to keep the line going at a faster pace. The ice cream menu is extensive. How does anyone manage to pick a flavor? They even have ice cream flavors of the day. I really wanted my experience to be special so I ordered a "Brownie al la mode" on a waffle hand-rolled cup. I forget how much the whole thing costs but probably $4-5 dollars. The cashier promptly went to make my brownie al la mode on a waffle cup before coming back to accept my money. They take cash only. I think this is an experience to try at least once. Honestly, the hand-rolled waffle cup was overrated because I have no idea how to eat it. I think eating it out of a regular cone is easier and a lot less messier. By the time I exited the shop, I almost missed my steamship back home as they closed the gates behind me. I recommend making sure there is enough time to buy ice cream before attempting to stand on line for it. I took more than five minutes waiting with two customers in front of me. The ice cream was still good enough for my husband and I to share. Seeing how many customers they have at any given moment, The Juice Bar must be a very famous place, except nobody orders juice! PROS: Ice Cream in many flavors, hand-rolled waffle cup cone, close to the Steamship Authority port CONS: Pricey, long lines

Having trouble deciding between chocolate, peanut butter and cookie dough ice cream? Tough choices, you guys. But no worries - at the Juice Bar you can get a magnificent TRIFECTA OF FLAVOR!!! Add one of their homemade waffle comes and you've got yourself a good time. I'm regretting my decision to forego their watermelon cream (vanilla ice cream/yogurt and watermelon juice) which sounded delicious. Try it in my honor!

    (4)
  • CC C.

What can I add that hasn't already been stated? Not much other than they make some of the best waffle cones on earth. There seems almost an infinite collection of ice cream options at this place! I've tried the toffee crunch and am in love. They also have frozen yogurt and smoothies here. It's high season (for a bit longer) so it tends to get crowded in that tiny shop. If you can wait out the line, you'll end up getting a delicious scoop of ice cream. One scoop of ice cream and a homemade waffle cone will cost you somewhere around $5.50. Can you go somewhere off Island and spend less? Well duh! But it seems to be one of those places tourist are almost nostalgic about. I like nostalgia especially when it tastes like homemade waffle cone.

Great ice cream!! Always packed so be ready for a bit of a wait! Peppermint stick ice cream is a fav. Cash only ladies and gents

  • Elizabeth S.

I should say that I day dream of this place now that I'm back on the west coast.I have such fond memories of going here with my love bug. I went twice in one day! I will say the lines are long, but honestly it's worth it. I always got the blackberry ice cream on a homemade cone, which was perfect for summer! (You can smell those things being made from outside by the way)

    (5)
  • David B.

There is only one place on Nantucket where you should go for ice cream, and the Juice Bar is that place. Having been here for several decades, you will know why you have selected a winner a block away - when you start to smell the rich, sweet flavors before you have even laid site on the establishment. Strongly recommend the chocolate peanut butter, but to each their own - you can't go wrong here. Select the homemade waffle cone and you are now all set. Are the lines in August worth it? (Yes).

    (5)
  • Mindy L.

I waited in one very long, hot line after the smell of waffles caught my attention walking down the street. I can't pass up trying a homemade waffle cone! I ordered a scoop of toffee crunch and a scoop of peanut butter chunk in a homemade waffle cone. I got my ice cream in a waffle cup. No worries...same thing...I can use a spoon! Headed back to our inn to eat my ice cream. It was good. Very tasty...but I wasn't a fan of the waffle cup. I'm sorry - I know that is blasphemy to some but I didn't think it all that special. Certainly not worth an extra $1.95 on top of the $5.00 for ice cream. The smell is amazing as you walk down the street though!

Best Ice Cream and great staff

    (5)
  • Patrick P.

This place is a scam. $7.55 for a soft serve cone? I get that this is a tourist destination, but in my world travels I have rarely been fleeced this bad for ice milk.

    (2)
  • R And D M.

My son gives this 5 stars. He liked his cookie dough ice cream. He stated that is was very flavorful. The homemade cone was warm and crisp. As his Dad, I would give it 3.5 stars. The ice cream was adequate, but by no means the best. The lines were long and the staff were uninspired and slow. Also, I was uneasy waiting in line....if I stood there any longer I thought I would turn blond and have a string of pearls...just from being surrounded by so many...and I am a guy:)

    (5)
  • Will B.

This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The mint cookie dough is fantastic! Their waffle cones are served warm, which is a game changer. We were lucky and caught them open on the last day of the season. I highly recommend this place.

    (5)
  • Elisa R.

Best ice cream on the island. Homemade waffle cones that you can smell as soon as you open the door (mmmm). Every flavor I've tried has been delicious but the stand-outs were the peanut butter and the kahlua caramel cookie crunch. Yes, it's crazy pricey for ice cream but you're on vacation...

    (5)
  • Kelly F.

2 to 3 stars for the long wait. Delicious ice cream. The place to be on a Saturday night if you can't or won't go to the bars. We shared 2 scoops in a waffle cone bowl. The cake batter and peanut butter cookie dough. We couldn't finish , it was so rich. The waffle was good but we didn't get a freshly made one , maybe that would have put it over the top. Cash only!!! Expensive of course but generous portion

    (4)
  • Jamie C.

So good so many flavors and their waffle comes are to die for... Expect a 30-45 min wait if you go at night

    (5)
  • Evan F.

Hands down the best ice cream and waffle cones in Nantucket. Maybe even all of the Cape and the Islands. Dare I say it... All of Massachusetts and New England? You *must* *must* *must* get the hand-rolled waffle cone. Or the hand-rolled waffle cup. It's well worth the extra $1.55. I look forward to going here every year. The line sucks, but it moves. On this last visit, we opted to go during the day to avoid the post-dinner crowd.

    (5)
  • Ryan L.

I liked this place! They have a pretty wide selection of homemade ice creams. Their waffle cones are fresh and still warm. That was a new experience...ice cream in a warm waffle cone. I got the cookies-n-cream and my girlfriend got the chocolate chip cookie dough. We each got 2 scoops in one of the warm waffle cones. I knocked on 1 star because that managed to be just under $11. I know it's Nantucket and all, but that was a bit ridiculous. They have a few tables that you can sit at, but they are usually already taken. Plan on walking around with your ice cream. In this town, walking around isn't bad at all. It's actually quite enjoyable. I'm sure I'll be back again before we leave the island. NOTE: No credit cards. Cash only!

    (4)
  • Abby R.

Best ice cream I've ever had. Worth the long wait and even the price (a little expensive). The waffle bowls are a must while you are here. Always a stop on the island!

    (5)
  • Natalie G.

Save your money and time and go to the pharmacy for the same ice cream at half the price and half the wait. Too many teenagers trying to be cool, and lines out the door and around the corner are just not worth it for ice cream, if you ask me.

    (2)
  • Marilyn C.

This place is a bit pricey, but the ice cream is delicious!!! This may be the best ice cream ever. I got 2 scoops - one choc. peanut butter cup, the other oreo mint - I think both were yogurt, but they tasted like ice cream. The peanut butter had huge pieces of peanut butter cups in it - heaven! They do hand rolled waffle cones for an extra $1.50 - I figure how often are you going to be able to get a hand rolled cone? So I went for it. The total for 2 scoops with the hand rolled cone was $7 or so, but it was worth it. File under: Treat Yo'self.

    (5)
  • Jesse G.

In 30 years of coming to Nantucket, this is the place I look forward to the most, maybe it's the wait in line or the WATERMELON CREAM, or those amazing Waffle Cones...I wish Dallas had a place like this...wish they had more frozen yogurt selections

    (5)
  • Jess D.

The line can be a killer here but it does move relatively quick! I had the almond joy ice cream in a waffle bowl. They make their own waffle cones so it was bice and fresh. you can smell the fresh sugary waffles wafting down the street. It was $6.25 or so... Nothing too crazy. It was tasty and did the trick.

    (3)
  • Jessica F.

Get the green monster and for sure try their homemade cones that you can smell a mile away. Delicious! Pricey thou!

    (5)
  • Jeff F.

Hand rolled cone....so what? I'm a pretty big sugar cone fan and was skeptical. But when they hand you that cone with triple chocolate mountain and the cone is warm.....my brain basically hit TILT. Warm cone? What? Awesome! BTW - Chocolate milkshake is also a great call. Awesome service.

    (4)
  • Jayna G.

Almost missed the ferry to get one last taste of ice cream from this place. We visited almost every night we were on the island for their hand-rolled waffle cones and cream ice cream. Cash only and down on the wharf and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants downtown. Always packed, but the line moves quickly.

  • Sarah F.

Best. Ice cream. Ever. I am so in love with Juice Bar and miss it every time I've left Nantucket. Seriously, I need one of these in Philly. My favorite thing is that you can smell the homemade cones from down the street before you open the swinging door into the quaint shop. Tons of original ice cream flavors as well as traditional ones. The servers are more than willing for you to try as many as you like until you find your ice cream soulmate. I usually go for their cookiedough, coffee, or peppermint stick flavors. If you are feeling really naughty I'd go for a coffee milkshake. Just writing this is making me so sad that I can't hop on a bike and grab some today. A Nantucket Must Have.

Hey you! Do you like ice cream? Then you HAVE to check this place out and don't even think about eating that ice cream out of anything other than a waffle cone! Holy moly, this place is so yummy. I love love love ice cream and am kind of a tough critic - - this place gets an 'A' from me for their delicious homemade ice cream and creative selection of flavors. Their amazing waffle cones get an 'A+'...both times I have gotten a cone it has been warm like it was right out of the oven, crispy and sweet like a thin cookie. I'm not even a fan of waffle cones normally because they taste like they came out of a bag but I had to try one based on the reviews here. So glad I did! First time my Mom and I stopped by the guy behind the counter seemed like he was so over the summer crowd and burnt out...enough to make me give this place 4 stars. We went back again today and the guy behind the counter was very friendly and nicely gave us many samples. So far I've had the Green Monster, Blackberry and Chocolate Oreo. Each were delicious! 2 scoops with a waffle cone was $6.50 which is pretty steep...my Mom couldn't believe I bought a cone so expensive but I raved enough to make her get one the next day. She loved it and we can't wait to go back tomorrow!

    (5)
  • Alexandra M.

Homemade hot fudge, enough said. I've gotten that every time I've been here since I was a kid, and I've never gotten sick of it. Great ice cream and the waffle cones are made there I'm pretty sure.... And, yes, they still know what Jimmys are (!) Friendly service which movies the massive line fast. This place must make so much money in summer....I guess they have been around since before I was a kid!

    (3)
  • Rocket C.

I think this place has gone downhill. It is staffed with lovely, wholesome, nice student-types. The hand-rolled cones smell enticing...until you buy one and it breaks. Again. The ice cream flavors seemed to be less wonderful than in the past. The biggest problem: crowd control. Lines are badly managed (and cut). Idiot parents invite their 4 children to sample spoonsful of different flavors...again and again...while you wait in line forever. I don't know how to fix that--pagers? Numbers? Prohibiting leisurely samples when there are lines out the door? We gave it numerous tries this summer and just didn't love it anymore.

    (2)
  • Tunisia M.

Places with lines out the door are like guys who like big butts- they cannot lie! That said, this place gets a ton of business during the summer and it's easy to see why. Get lured in by the scent of freshly baked cookies( their waffle cones are made on-site). I've eaten a lot of ice cream- a lot of it mediocre but this fits the bill. Flavors are updated every so often I can still taste the banana flavor as I'm typing this.

    (4)
  • Johanna C.

This place may seem overrated by the ridiculous line that occurs outside, but it is not. The 15-20 minute wait on a busy night is worth every second - especially if you get one of the hand rolled cones or bowls... omg... so good. Best recommendation is to go on a week night to avoid the craziness Crantucket & cookie dough selections are fantastic.

    (5)
  • April D.

The smell of the waffle cones wafting out of this place is what lures you in. Every time we walked by, there was a line, but the lines move pretty fast. We got The Carl...chocolate ice cream with marshmallows and chocolate chips. A bit thick and gooey, but not bad. I expected more from the waffle cup though, you can tell its fresh, but it needed more taste...a bit of vanilla is all thats needed. Price is pretty comparable to other ice cream places.

    (4)
  • Krista J.

Delicious ice cream, but CRAZY long lines in the summer. My friends and I got there right at the perfect time...after our dinner and before any line had formed outside he door and around the corner. The server was helpful and let my friends taste some of the ice creams...he was patient and didn't try to rush our order, even with the long line behind us. I opted for a soft chocolate/vanilla waffle cup...it was awesome.

    (4)
  • Jess L.

Juice Bar has some of the most awesome, decadent ice cream flavors I've ever seen. There can be a long line, but it'll be worth the wait. Just do it at least once. I also recommend the smoothies. They all sound awesome, and you often have a selection of ice, yogurt, or ice cream to go with your fruits (and sugars)! I recommend the green monster ice cream, something you don't see in too many places. I'm docking one star only because it's a bit pricey for the amount you get, at least compared to some other ice cream places on the island.

    (4)
  • Grace T.

This is one of the places that people tell you you just *have* to go to. Eh. Although I don't think their icecream is worth it, the smell of waffle cones in the air will tempt you if you're in a one-block radius of the place. Avoid going there after dinner, unless you consider waiting in a long line for over thirty minutes to be charming or part of the quintessential Nantucket experience. If you're looking to try something off the beaten track, consider ordering a Jamaican Slam. I worked with a Jamaican lady across the street from the Juice Bar and she claimed them to be real deal. It's a fun drink and its creamy taste outweighs any veggie taste to it. Also, the grape nuts at the bottom add a nice crunch.

    (3)
  • Kelsey A.

Fresh Ice cream every time! Sometimes there is a line but it is always well worth the wait! I try different flavors each time and they are all delicious! My favorite is the Green Monstah. Mint chocalote chip ice cream with Oreos. Delicious..

    (5)
  • William C.

One of the best ice cream places anywhere. Worth the wait, if there is one. Don't miss the waffle cones and local berry flavors.

    (5)
  • Laura N.

I had the Almond Joy flavor in a waffle cone that was STILL WARM. Enough said, in my opinion. Yes, it's small, loud, and pricey (cash only!!!), but that cone...

    (4)
  • Zak L.

I got orange juice and carrot juice.

    (5)
  • A W.

Awesome ice cream! Waffle comes are amazing! Worth the price!

    (5)
  • Aly L.

The ice cream is delicious. However, I paid $5 for 2 scoops in a sugar cone and they were some of the smallest scoops I've ever had. Like smaller than an ice cream scoop small! The ice cream at the other places on island are just as good. I had ice cream from one of the wharfs the next day and it was larger, a little cheaper and without the lines!

    (4)
  • Helen C.

The Juice Bar has some of the best ice cream around. It offers some awesome and exotic flavors and mixings and they give you huge portions of the ice cream. If youre a choco-holic like me, I recommend Chocolate Oreo, Triple Chocolate Mountain, or one of their recent new special flavors, Midnight Run. Yumm. If you ever get their ice cream, make sure you add their homemade waffle cones with it, but a regular cone tastes good as well. Unfortunately I had to give it a 3 stars because of some flaws. The lines, especially during tourist season, can be extremely long and out the door, and the wait can be quite unbearing if its hot summer day and youre just craving for ice cream. Then when youre inside when its super crowded, its not really that organized and youre struggling to get place your order. Its been frustrating for me just trying to get my order placed and get my ice cream with that many people around. (AVOID tourist season on Nantucket if possible) Their ice cream prices over the two summers that I have been visiting have gone up and up. A small ice cream with a waffle cone now can range about $5, which honestly isnt too bad for the first time. But if you love ice cream like I do and want to buy good ice cream whenever you crave it, it can get a little pricey. I heard their juices and smoothies are good but its just plain robbery if its going to cost me $6+. But if you can't resist the smell of waffle cones being made and if you love ice cream, you have to go to this place at least once whenever youre on Nantucket

    (3)
  • Sarah S.

Homemade waffle cones and cups! Yum! I loved the waffle cup- very tasty plus as a cup I could get hot fudge which is a huge plus. Had the peanut butter ice cream which was great with huge peanut butter cup chunks.

    (5)
  • Jessica L.

The prices here are insane. The ice cream is fine-- it's pretty typical and the flavors are ordinary. But the prices are ridiculous--- $4.95 for a small cone, and if you prefer a waffle cone, the the smallest waffle cone & ice cream costs $6.45. For four of us, it came to over $25. I would honestly just say, go one of the grocery stores or corner stores on Nantucket and buy a pint of ice cream.

    (2)
  • Ryna D.

The aroma of the fresh waffle cones being made in the premises made it impossible for us not to stop and get a cone. We tried the banana and maple walnut ice cream on a waffle cup with caramel topping. Yum! Overpriced? Yes. But then, we were on vacation after all..

    (4)
  • Mike B.

Truly delicious but you do have to come off-hours. It's pricey, but you do get a huge portion. The rum raisin is especially good IMHO.

    (4)
  • Alex N.

Dude. They aren't lying when they say it's home made ice cream. I had the strawberry. The kid in me rejoiced for making the rash decision of eating ice cream an hour before our dinner reservation. When ice cream calls, the only answer is Yes.

    (5)
  • Greg S.

Yes the lines are long and kids are sampling, but for god sakes relax and enjoy this place for what it is! They make incredible ice cream - the extra notch needed on my belt at weekend proves it! Love this place!

A Nantucketian jewel for those with sugar cravings! Between the four of us, we had the watermelon juice, the rum raisin ice cream (not my kind of flavor, but my dad liked it), maple walnut and cake batter ice cream flavors with the homemade waffle cones, oh food for the soul! I liked the maple walnut the best, such a unique flavor! They are a cash-only operation and don't have too much seating space. But I'm not sure how great that is for someone who wants some refuge from the cruel summer heat outside. Plus the lines here can get ridiculously long, not too helpful. Nevertheless, the ice cream is more than enough to make you forget your weariness. Food coma alert! Ahh, makes me so nostalgic for that pretty little island again.

This is my favorite place to get ice cream on the island. I would always recommend whatever the flavors of the day are, since in my experience they're always better than the regular flavors. They recently had pumpkin spice and almond joy and both were to die for. If you really want to get indulgent, then get your ice cream as a sundae with a brownie/cookie bar and hot fudge. It's true that the prices are a little expensive, but it's Nantucket and that's the way things are. If I didn't think it was worth it, I wouldn't go. It's amazing they don't charge more given how ridiculously long the lines can get.

A staple of Nantucket! The lines might be long, but it's definitely worth it. The waffle cup solves the issue of wanting a waffle container, but not dealing with a messy cone. The ice cream is delicious, I've never had bad ice cream there. The staff is always super friendly and they never skimp on anything!

Whoo Hooo!! FInally homemade ice cream on the Cape or thereabouts that really is special. I have found that most ice cream on the cape is "homemade" complete with fillers and neon artificial colors... then there is the Juice Bar. The blended fresh juices with homemade ice-cream steals the show as innovative and delicious.

Always an fantastic and looked forward to treat (if you can stand the lines). We actually tried some of the other ice cream places this year because lines were so long and were disappointed every time.

Best ice cream on the island ... and the worst line. I always wait no matter how long esp on a hot night. This place is a must when I am on the island

Ice cream: Thick, rich, creamy deliciousness. The flavors are many and varied. Never had a flavor I didn't like. Smoothies: Best I've ever had. EVER. I 100% recommend getting The Sunrise smoothie with raspberry sherbet. This is my treat to myself on bad days, hot days, and good days alike. As far as their product is concerned, I've yet to be disappointed even a little. The downsides are in the parking, the lines, and the crowd. As previously stated in other reviews, the crowds inside the store can be nearing mob status. I've been pushed, stepped on, ditched, etc. My poor kids get stepped on and shoved around all the time. Now we don't even bring them in. We just send in one adult to order everything. It's loud; so loud that more than once I had to yell to be heard, and even then the boy taking my order had to read my lips. (kudos to him, he got my order right despite the din) Another downside is the price. Yes. It's expensive. But if you consider the fact that they have an ideal location and are only open a few months of the year, it makes sense. Rent must be paid. In sum, going to the Juice Bar is a commitment, but the payoff is worth it.

Homemade waffle cones--- all i have to say. came here 3x in a 5 day span. home made ice cream that is everything ice cream should be-- so many flavors- I heard the make a home made chipwhich that is out of this world. I just wish juice bar sold there ice cream in stores or in a city on the main land so everyone could enjoy this nantucket treasure.

As a young child I slaved away my precious summer days at a custard shop working for 4.25$ an hour. It was there that I mastered the delicate craft of waffle cone making and all the attention it should very well receive. Nothing smells as good as a fresh waffle cone. I had both grown men and woman try to seduce me upon leaving work because I smelled so delicious. This is the same type of magic that Juice Bar poisons its passerbyers with. This sick tantalizing smell is in fact an illusion: the cone never tastes as good as it smells, and it is up to the ice cream to compensate for the victims loss. Juice Bar has a very large selection of ice creams, smoothies, and floats. I tried the cake batter and the chocolate cranberry. The cake batter was under par compared to Cold Stone's thick, dare I say voluptuous gravity. It was more sweet than creamy. The chocolate cranberry was excellent, as should be expected on Nantucket. The bites of chocolate cranberries were smooth and didn't stand out to hard like my least favorite of flavors, chocolate chip. I've had better ice cream though (see my reviews on Sebastian Joe's or sundaes and cones), and Juice Bar has absurd prices ( I paid 6.50 for a small!!!!!). Its worth it once, but I wouldn't be a regular.

First of all, get the watermelon freeze....fresh watermelon juiced on the spot, vanilla ice cream...you can't lose. On top of that, any place like this with fresh ingredients and homemade ice cream deserves a solid score for caring about top quality. My only complaints: (1) in the summer it gets way too crowded with no definitive lines for service and you need to fight your way through a crowd of snobby disrespectful people to get your order in, (2) the staff can sometimes be unfriendly, (3) and they only accept cash and checks.

    (4)
  • Lauren S.

I LOVE the waffle cup and have to get it every time I go to Nantucket in the summer. Aren't really a ton of other ice cream places on the island or at least in town. Agree with everyone saying that the price is insane, but it's not going to stop me from going there!!

    (3)
  • Celeste M.

Longish line but went pretty quickly. It really filled up after we ordered so that worked out well that we missed the rush. The mint chocolate chip I got in a hand-rolled waffle cup was great, but it nailed the coffin in my pretending I wasn't lactose intolerant thing. If I'm ever in Nantucket again, I might go back. But I really would rather not return to Nantucket.

  • M a.

I don't rate the ice cream among the best nationally, but it is reasonably good and there are several gems. The watermelon cream (fresh watermelon juice blended with vanilla ice cream) and the peppermint stick ice cream (especially in a waffle cup with hot fudge) are terrific. It's a forty minute commitment on a summer weekend night.

    (3)
  • Michael B.

Three-star review because I'm kind of a hater. Great ice cream, lots of options, they move people through reasonably quickly, and I go at least once every time I'm on island. And yet, there's something that really annoys me about the trendiness of the place and how crowded it is every time I go. Fairly expensive too, though you should expect as much for what you get.

    (3)
  • Dan G.

If you haven't had their brownie a la mode ice cream in one of their homemade waffle cones, make sure that goes on your bucket list. Yes, the lines are often insane (and rarely fast-moving), but one try and you too will see why this place is as popular as it is.

  • Caitlin C.

Stopped in here for a cone the other day. I had Chocolate Chunk Cherry Vanilla and Crantucket ensconced in a standard sugar cone. The ice cream was well-crafted, flavorful and generously scooped. People complain about the high prices ($4.80 for a small cone), but c'mon you guys, this is Nantucket! If you're upset about spending $5 for ice cream what are you doing there? So whatever, it was blazing balls hot and my ice cream was melting at a fast clip. I ended up wearing half of it, but it still made me happy, which is really what ice cream is all about.

Blackberry ice cream in a waffle cup. I can't pass by this place without getting one of these. Tried the mint chip, blueberry, others in the past. None can beat the blackberry. But the homemade mint leaf ice-cream at Straight Wharf gives Juice Bar's blackberry a run for its money.

  • Rhiannon L.

This summer I'm addicted to peppermint ice cream -- not like mint chocolate chip but peppermint, like with pieces of candy cane. The juice bar had a line OUT THE DOOR when we passed last Saturday evening, but it mellowed out around 9:30 so we stoped for a scoop. They had my coveted peppermint (it was green -- it's usually pink) but for 2 little scoops with jimmies it was $6.25! 3 of us got cones and the total? About $20.

Over priced. Over crowded. If you like hanging around 14 year old boys trying to pick up biddies on the Strip, then this is the ice cream parlor for YOU!

I would definitely recommend to stop at the Juice Bar before leaving the island!

    (5)
  • Sydney W.

I'm not a huge fan of ice cream cones (usually just skip straight to the ice cream) but this was every bit worth the wait!

(Yes).

This place is a scam. $7.55 for a soft serve cone? I get that this is a tourist destination, but in my world travels I have rarely been fleeced this bad for ice milk.

    (5)
  • Sukanya S.

    (5)
  • Lindsay R.

    (5)
  • emily l.

    (5)
  • Michelle Z.

    (5)
  • Lee M.

Omg. Ice cream. If you want to pig out on ice cream this is the place to be.

    Coffee ice cream was blah!!!

Always an fantastic and looked forward to treat (if you can stand the lines). We actually tried some of the other ice cream places this year because lines were so long and were disappointed every time.

I love ice cream!!! I love the Juice Bar!!!

    (5)

Best ice cream on the island ... and the worst line. I always wait no matter how long esp on a hot night. This place is a must when I am on the island
