Good location right off the highway going towards Bedford. Every time I go here its different. 2 out of 3 times, great service, even had a waitress that cut off our drinks when she thought we had too much. Chips are great when they are hot and fresh and the deserts are worth checking out. The meals themselves are hit or miss. Big difference if you go with a group of 5 or a group of 10 people because when you have close to 10 different meals coming out of the kitchen at the same time, some are warm, some are cold, but I respect the fact that most other places also try and bring all the food at once so everyone can eat at the same time.

food was great. Our waitress was awful. Poor/slow customer service. Would not take food back to kitchen after bringing it out wrong twice. Blamed one of my buddies for taking my plate after she put it right in front of him. She clearly could not give a fuck about us or her job. If your getting the food to go you might be satisfied but I would not recommend this place for dining in to my worst enemy.

We were left waiting at the front desk for about 5 minutes before we were acknowledged. Waited another 3 for host to seat us. It was sweltering in the restaurant. Not impressed by waitstaff that do not write the order down. We did get everything we ordered but still... Found a hair in our cheese dip. Meal is meh. Very bland. We have been going to Marg's for a long time (other locations) and the food has consistently gotten worse through the years. (We stopped going to the one in Revere since the time the waitresses all seemed to be high on pills. It was like The Night of the Living Dead there. That was about 3 years ago.) Took the waiter an awfully long time to bring us the check. As we were waiting, one half of the couple next to us at a different table muttered "This place sucks" when he was walking by us so they must have a deplorable time too.

This restaurant is on par with Taco Bell only its table service. Ordered a combo platter but somehow the burrito, chimichanga and enchilada all taste the same and bland as can be. I get that I'm a bit more picky than most when it comes to Mexican since I am from Arizona and we have excellent Mexican food but there is just no excuse for this tasteless crap. The food also came out so burnt it was hard to cut through with the fork. Would I come back here? Fork no! Haha

This place is located next to the highway on the outskirts of Lexington. The parking here is extremely accessible and its located next to a Quality Inn. I came here to just pick up a side of mexican rice for $2.50ish. Upon arrival, I noticed that this place was packed with people. Since it seemed like a popular spot I decided to go in. I can only attest for the side, but sadly it was bland, extremely small amount (4 tablespoons) and way too overcooked. Though its difficult to make a judgement call about this place, I thought that the side, which should be a staple at any Mexican food restaurant was extremely disappointing that Im actually not even interested in coming back to this place. So... why is this place still so popular? Not sure, but its def not the food.

Came here for an after work gathering of friends, very convenient off route 95. They have great margarita specials (5$ after work till 6PM). They do not skimp on the alcohol. While drinks were good, the food was lacking. My pork tacos were just that, a pile of pork on a couple soft tortilla shells. I got to try the variety fish taco plate and that was actually pretty good flavor wise. They do take reservations for large groups which is a nice bonus. I much rather go down a couple exits to Border Cafe in Burlington because the drinks are just as good and the food is siginificantly better.

Great bar - good selection, free chips and salsa, good atmosphere and music. Below average food - it's not flavored well, not real Mexican or even Tex-mex. Slow service - sometimes rude, caters to frequenters not everyone.

Service and food sucks. My friend's chicken fajita was overcooked and dry. My cawabamga chicken nachos was soggy. I only ate a couple bites of it and the waitress asked how the food was and I said that it wasn't very good. Later she clears the table and we ask for the bill. She takes forever! Manager walked by a few times and nothing! I'll never come back to this location or recommend to anyone!

They get one star because they couldn't even give my husband a nice birthday dinner. The salsa is always horrid. Just tastes like vinegar... our chicken chimichangas were gross. Not shredded meat. Chunks. Burned black. And oil filled our plates when we cut them open ! It took so long to get our food we couldn't wait for it to be remade. What happened to good training and good food?

Excellent food! Excellent service! Great drinks! José was our server tonight and did an excellent job. He brought us our delicious food (the quacamole is so good) VERY quickly. Monday at rush hour is THE time to come here. Support your local authentic Mexican cuisine!

This review is for Margarita's - a CHAIN restaurant - so for a chain, this particular location was quite good. Going to Mexican restaurant when you don't eat cheese or meat can be interesting - but as long as your waitress can understand your order (Chicken Sunburst chop Salad, hold the chicken, cheese and dressing - add more avocado and side of guac and salsa) - you can do it. I was really, very surprised - the veggies were fresh, there was a lot of lightly grilled/seasoned zucchini, and squash, and a TON of avocado. It was a company lunch, so who knows what the price ended up as, but dare I say it - I would go back for this salad. Bravo Margaritas, Bravo.

I have been here for drinks and appetizers with coworkers and have no plan on going back for anything else. The place is located on a main road and has plenty of parking. There is a motel next door in case you have too many margaritas and need to stay the night. All of the times I have been here I have sat at the bar. Each time has been underwhelming. They offer you complimentary chips and salsa at the bar. But they should, considering how awful it is. The salsa tastes and appears like it is straight out of a can. Tostito's tastes better, and just to make sure there is no confusion, they refill the salsa more quickly than they do your drink. Honestly, the salsa is the worst I have been served anywhere, let along a Mexican joint. The "free" appetizer actually convinced us NOT to order anything from here but drinks! The bartender the first time we were there actually gave a bad look at one person in our group. My drinks I must admit were decent (who knew a Mexican place would make a good martini) though others in our group complained. Sour Sangria is never a good experience. I'll head back if I'm in the mood to get a good drunk, will never eat here!

I will admit that the food isn't always well seasoned... However, I really like the shrimp dish (it is an appetizer, but I get it as a main course). I also favor the virgin pina colados. We've never had an issue with the service either.

My girlfriend and I used to order from here regularly. But within the last several months the food has gotten significantly worse. There are some great dishes on this menu, but I think some of the staff can't handle them. Also - anytime you order anything for takeout now, they cover it in regular romaine or iceberg lettuce. Inside the container. Nothing like your good covered by warm, wilted lettuce. It's gross. So if you do decide to eat here, be sure to ask them to hold the lettuce.

Never been picky at restaurants since my sister is a waitress, but this was the worst experience i've ever had at a bar. Ordered some appetizers and drinks and the waitress was rude. Got a Hennessy and sprite and they substituted my Hennessy with another cognac without telling me. When I said something she just said i'm not the bartender.

You know those nights when you can tell that nothing is going to go right but you stick around anyway? Yeah, it was one of those nights. I joined Margaritas Circle of Friends a while back because of the discounts and birthday deal. Hey, who doesn't like getting stuff for free? And I have pretty much only gone to Margaritas for the free stuff in the past year or so. Tonight I was lured in with the promise of a free entree just for being a member of their Circle of Friends. We called ahead (thinking that a lot of other folks probably wanted their free entrees too) and were told that it was about a 40 minute wait but I could put my name on the call-ahead list. I did and we showed up exactly 40 minutes later. They told me that my name had come up on the previous page so the hostess put my name on the top of her sheet (in the margin) and told us it would just be a few minutes. Well, about 15 minutes went by and we were getting really hungry, so I inquired. Oops! She forgot about us! She seated us and apologized and said that she would get us chips and salsa, send our waiter right over and tell them to put a rush on our order since we were hungry and had been waiting. Our waitress (Kendra) came over and asked for our orders. We ordered Margaritas (I got the Lime in the Coconut (no sugar or salt on the rim please), my favorite, and hubby got the house Margarita (on the rocks, no salt), I ordered the Muchachas Enchiladas and hubby ordered the fish tacos. Our waitress came back a few minutes later and said that since the hostess felt bad, they were going to comp an appetizer. Sweet! So we ordered the quesadillas. While we were digging into the chips and salsa, I managed to spill some salsa and requested a napkin from our passing waitress. Then after we demolished the basket of chips (quickly refilled by the hostess, still apologizing), we were feeling pretty thirsty, so we hailed our waitress and inquired about our drinks? Oops! She had forgotten. So we got our drinks ... mine with sugar on the rim and his with salt on the rim. We were thirsty enough to suck it up (literally). Then our quesadillas arrived and we thought it would be grand to have some plates, utensils and, oh, didn't I already request some napkins? Kendra apologized and said she was having a rough night. (I bit my tongue at that. Really? We hadn't noticed!) So with plates, napkins and utensils, we dug into our free app. The quesadillas were a little greasy, but the fresh guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo were good enough to make it appealing over all. Then we sat for a little while before our entrees arrived. Hubby was very pleased with his fish tacos and both dishes did arrive piping hot (which I didn't know was a thing until I watched Restaurant Impossible!). My beans were definitely refried (and maybe refried again?), but the enchiladas were tasty (lots of cheese, my favorite) and the rice was very good as well. The portion was large and as I hadn't planned on having an appetizer anyway, I will have enough for lunch tomorrow. At this point we were just hoping to get out of there before anything else could go wrong. Then the check arrived. I got my complimentary entree, but they charged us for the appetizer. I notified the waitress and she apologized. When she came back, she had removed the appetizer but the complimentary entree discount was different (originally it had been my enchiladas - about $13.50, but this time it was $10.33, not even hubby's entree price which was $10.99). We decided to just get out while the getting was good. On the drive home, hubby reminded me that the last time we dined there it was for a Circle of Friends promotion and we had an equally bad experience. I think that I might go back if a group of friends was going to meet there for drinks, but my dining days are over. I want to make it clear that everyone was perfectly nice - it just amounted to more of a hassle than the free meal was worth.

Were do I start? Horrible experience, We left after 45 min of waiting for ice cold food to arrive. Only 4 servers on duty. When we arrived they said 10-15 min wait for a table and all the tables were open. Before we left I looked at my food, it was an enchilada combo and everything looked like a bomb went off right in front of me. We didn't even have to try the food to get the hint to leave. Now we r at the border cafe happy as could be. All the warning signs were there and we should have left as soon as we walked through the door. If you ever choose between no food or margaritas, choose no food at all. I should mention this was a Sunday night at 7:30pm and there were only 6 tables max including one large family that we noticed waited a very long time for their food as well.

Its a chain tex-mex place, but I have absolutely no complaints. Our waitress was extremely attentive --- we were given chips and salsa immediately upon arrival. They were apparently bottomless because before we were even done with the first batch, a new batch arrived. Excellent service on the waitress's behalf. The food came quickly -- and it was exactly what we expected. So no disappointments here. And finally - the whole reason we came to a place called Margaritas --- the Margaritas were excellent. If they weren't, this place would have a lot of explaining to. One warning --- DO NOT STAY IN THE MOTEL LOCATED TO THE REAR OF THIS PLACE. We did, and its very scary -- nice looking from the outside, but the rooms are disgusting. But that isn't Margaritas fault -- in fact it has absolutely nothing to do with them. I just couldn't write this review without mentioning it. Would I go back to Margaritas again if I lived in the Lexington area??? ABSOLUTELY.

I visited this location about 3 weeks ago and I was very disappointed with the service. I usually visit the location in Waltham, and the waiters are quick and the food is great. During my visit, we were seated at a dirty table with a dirty menu, waited 20 minutes for chips and salsa, and I was served a weak and watered down margarita. I definitely will not be going there soon.

My team and I always go here after a show, so there's always a large group of 10-20 of us. They've always been very accommodating and there's never been any trouble serving so many people at once. I highly recommend the queso - it is absolutely delicious. Also - ask for the Strawberry Lime in the Coconut margarita. It's not on the menu, but it's so good!

I ate at Margaritas on June 10, 2014. I can honestly say that it was absolutely, positively, without a doubt, the WORST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN. To even refer to the gruel that they serve as Mexican food is an insult to, well, real Mexican food. I love Mexican Food. I am 42 years old and I have eaten Mexican Food all over the U.S. and Mexico. This was a grotesque representation of Mexican food. There was nothing redeeming about the dining experience. We arrived at 8:30 and were seated promptly. That's where the positive comments end. Our waiter took our drink order and it took almost 10 minutes to get my unsweetened Iced tea. I asked for lemon and was given a pinto bean sized lemon wedge. I asked for artificial sweetener and I had to wait a few more minutes for a few packets of splenda that my waiter just tossed on our table as he walked by. It was the worst Iced Tea I have ever tasted. It honestly tasted like cleaning fluid and pine oil. That should have been a tip off. We ordered some atrocity called the "Cowabunga Nachos. I guess Cowabunga is Mexican for "seven pounds of lettuce, not much meat, and cheese that tastes like feet." I had never seen SO MUCH FREAKING LETTUCE on a pate of nachos. Of course, the amateur that plated the nachos put the lettuce on sopping wet so the nachos were wet, the chips were wet and soggy. We took a few bites and asked them to take the nachos away. My wife ordered the carnitas tacos, my son ordered a hamburger and I ordered the all-you-can-eat tacos. We waited over 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. FORTY MINUTES in a restaurant that was only filled to about 25% capacity. My wife was told she would get rice and refried beans with her tacos but that was a lie. No rice and beans. The meat was also burned like incinerated shoe leather. My son had a burned, dry burger. My tacos came with ice cold refried beans and nasty taking meat. We all took a few bites of our food and just asked for the check and left. Stay away folks, you have been WARNED!

Wow, this place barely qualifies as a Mexican restaurant. If it weren't for the decent tortilla chips, the good service and the family-friendly atmosphere, I would have given my second 1-star review. I didn't have any of the drinks, but - not surprisingly - the selection of Margaritas is plentiful...perhaps this is why my friends go here? The salsa was basically tasteless, but quite hot, which did not do well with the little ones in my party. It seemed to be pre-made or from a jar, versus fresh. The tortilla chips were actually pretty good, though a tad greasy. For my entree, I ordered the chicken fajitas, which had only a hint of seasoning, and a large portion of al dente and tasteless Mexican rice. I did not try the black beans. I found the dinner totally disappointing since fajitas are such a hard-to-screw-up dish. The surroundings are over-the-top from a decoration standpoint, but the restaurant is not as loud as many family-friendly places. It is kid-friendly and the service was attentive and prompt.

I am really disappointed with the quality of service. I remember when this place opened. It was clean, the servers seemed to care about their jobs. I just moved back to the area and I'm surprised at how much it's gone downhill. I sat at a table in the bar area. The table hadn't been wiped down yet, and I watched the waitress wipe it. She left a cherry stem and something really sticky. Then she brought my drink, chips and salsa and didn't bring me any silverware or napkins. I ended up having to get up and take silverware from a nearby table. I waited to order food over 10 minutes (it was only half full) and ended up having to flag down another waitress to order my food. Same wait for extra napkins (had to ask 3 different waitresses.) and now I'm waiting again for my check. I've been waiting for at least15 minutes and had the time to write all of this. I'm really disappointed and would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

This place is always a disaster! Someone's meal is always wrong or completely forgotten. I was at this location on Saturday night, the bar was slow and so was our waitress! Drinks came out slow, refills never came, and she completely missed one of our orders. She did have that meal taken off the bill, but this place is not worth going to, I have never had a good experience here.

If you haven't been here for a while, you may be surprised - as we were - to find that portion sizes have been drastically decreased, and service is much slower. My wife ordered an ice tea with lemon. It came without lemon, and the waiter confided that the staff has been ordered not to bring it unless the customer asks again, in order to save money. No kidding! She ordered veggie fajitas, and explained very clearly that it needed to be non-spicy. Instead it was almost too hot for me, and I am a major fan of spicy food. (The waiter offered to "speak to the manager", but after waiting forever for our food we had no time to wait again.) Instead of the usual container that keeps tortillas fresh, they came wrapped up in a twist of foil, as if for takeout, and stuck together. Cheaper for them, I guess. I had the chile rellenos (inexplicably only available on Saturdays). The chile itself was overcooked and falling apart, with no hint of the charring that happens if it's properly grilled, and the accompanying rice tasted like it had been prepared a day earlier and left lying around soaking up the the sauce. This place was once pretty good for an American-style Mexican restaurant. Don't know if they're in financial trouble or what, but cutting back on food and service isn't a way to recover.

I took my daughter there for lunch today. The food was terrible.I ordered the Chimichanga and it was bland and tasteless.I love retried beans and I took a couple of bites and left them they were so bad.My daughter had the tacos and didn't finish her's.We won't be going back.

Underwhelming. It seems as though the recipes have changed since the last time I was there. The salsa oddly tasted like olives (and I hate olives!). The enchiladas were dangerously salty. Overall, not a great dining experience and not worth the trip.

My wife and I went there for my birthday dinner yesterday. I arrived ahead of my wife to be seated before she arrived. The hostess was doing a take out order before seating people. And it was an awkward wait while she ignored the line that formed to be seated. Mind you, the dining area was not busy at this time. Our drinks showed up at the table in a short time. But our appetizers and meals took far too long. And the waitress just kept refilling out chips to buy time. In the end our appetizers weren't made right and over spiced. And our main meals were made wrong as well. We left only paying for drinks and tip after the manager had to get involved. Giving 2 stars was generous for this visit. And sad they thought saying Happy Birthday would make it seem better.

Even though the margaritas are very (a bit tight on the tequila) good, the waite staff could be friendlier to the customers. The customers seemed to have all the smiles.

Recently visited...will never return. Hostess was absent for the first few minutes, then indifferent to our presence. Food ranged from poor to mediocre, and my son's burger was raw. Even the waiter was disgusted. The waitstaff we encountered were professional and attentive.

We sat at a table near the bar so not to wait for the dining room, and service was really good! We ordered the fish tacos and chicken tacos. The chicken tacos were kind of bland as the sauce that was the most mild was a kind of a buffalo sauce which was way too spicy for me. The chicken was not seasoned at all and lettuce, tomato and cheese was sprinkled on top. Nothing special. The fish tacos were ok. I would have done 2 stars, but the service was very good.

The worst restaurant ever!! Bad food and service. Waitresses and bar staff are friendly but don't expect to have a great meal in a timely fashion. I work in the area and have been there multiple times with coworkers and each time is very underwhelming. Seems as if someone needs to step in and fix that place (bar takeover maybe?), as it seems the issue might be a management problem. So sad considering the great location and zero competition. I would recommend chilis or border cafe over this place (only one exit away).

Horrible service. Waited a long time to get a cold appetizer (which wasn't even what I ordered) and our drinks never showed up. Way under staffed. I used to go here all the time but now it's nearly impossible to enjoy a nigh out there. I've noticed many employees who used to be there, that are not anymore, many new faces. The few employees that have been there for awhile are friendly. Maybe management a management change is needed? We did complain and were offered free drinks next time we come in, not sure if I want to return though.

We have eaten dinner here twice, and, we will eat dinner here again! This is not fine dining, rather, it's a great local neighborhood destination, popular with families, youth soccer teams, workers coming after their office hours are over, couples out on dates - in other words, everyone. They have a super margarita menu with many imaginative margarita recipes that my adult daughter loves. I tend to stick to the traditional margaritas, but even so, there are several varieties of 'basic' margarita recipes in addition to the more unique 'off the chain' recipes that my daughter enjoys. The food menu has many vegetarian options which we really appreciate - not just tortillas with cheese with salsa, but options with some excellent well conceived and executed, vegetable preparations. Their fresh guacamole is excellent. My husband has enjoyed the chicken fajitas, finding the chicken to be very moist. When we have gone, the restaurant has been very busy but the servers have always been very solicitous, if sometimes harried, and the manager walks about the restaurant, checking in with the customers to make sure everything is going well.

Staff- 5 stars (at least my experience) Food- ????? Chips were good. I was staying a the motel next door and I got there too late to eat but they gave me chips and salsa to munch on which is a big deal because there was nothing else for miles and they knew it. I really appreciated the fact that they tried to accommodate. That and a couple of glasses of ok wine was all I needed. Bartender was super nice and all was good.

Went on a Sunday night around 8PM, and had a really good experience despite several average reviews on this site. We were seated quickly and our server was extremely pleasant and helpful. The Lime in the Coconut margarita was delicious and well worth the trip to the restaurant. A pick two entree and share an appetizer deal for $25 was being offered and was well worth the price, the queso appetizer was hot and flavorful and the complimentary salsa was surprisingly spicy and tasty, much better then other complimentary restaurant salsa. The only negative was the kitchen was slow putting out the entrees but not to the extreme, when they were delivered they were hot and as ordered. Overall, excellent service and wait staff and delicious margaritas with a marginal wait for standard food.

We went here on a Sunday night and were seated in the bar area immediately. Ordered taquitos and wings to start with and super burritos for the main course. The taquitos came as an app and were decent...but the wings came right as the burritos and they were the only thing we specifically asked to get first. The wings were great and we'd order them again. They were quick to refill our drinks and we never had to search for our waitress. When I'd asked the waitress if the super burrito's sauce was spicy she said not at all...and it wasn't. But you'd think with my concern for spice that she'd mention all the jalepenos that were mixed in with my lettuce! Maybe that's just me. They were easy enough to pick out though and the burrito (mine with ground beef) was pretty good. My bf got the steak in his and wasn't too crazy about it, mostly because of the sauce. We had leftovers and both agreed it was almost better the next day. We both prefer On the Border to this and probably wouldn't make a special trip here again, but wouldn't be opposed if in the area.

The wait staff were pleasant; the place was hopping, but the food was terrible. Overcooked steak fajitas with some sort of strange, strange flavor. The rice was dried out and crusty...The food may have well been some of the worst food we've ever had in a restaurant. It gets one star for the festive decor and nice waitstaff, though.

The Good: Decent Mexican food in relative comparison to other Boston-area Mexican restaurants. Competent and attentive waitstaff. Good margaritas. The Bad: Horrendous parking situation (due to co-location with motel) moderately mitigated by valet parking. The Ugly: Host staff was horribly incompetent. Entered and was quoted over an hour wait time, upon which myself and wife decided to leave. Staff member incorrectly alluded to shorter wait time for bar-area seating and we signed on. Host was completely overwhelmed and visibly distraught by task of assigning tables, despite an average of five other restaurant employees aimlessly standing around in over-crowded waiting area. Staff did bring around free chips, salsa, and other tidbits to attempt to ameliorate increasingly impatient patrons. Based upon observation (over the course of our hour-and-twenty minute wait), appears host staff attempts to seat tables equitably for waitstaff. Though this may be good if your waitstaff, this means that if you're a small party you may see several larger parties get seated sooner (despite them arriving later and displaying no evident sign of having called ahead). After our presence had been adequately noted by host, we were seated. In the process we were taken past an empty four-top which would have adequately suited our two-person party, but instead they seated us at a six-person table. Ironically, the same table that the family of five could have used ten minutes later when they finally got around to seating them in another long vacant four-seater booth.

This place was AWFUL!!! When I arrived I was told 25-30 min wait. So I waited and waited and waited. I checked out the lounge, but there were too many screaming kids running around. I thought the lounge was for adults? An hour later I asked the hostess what was up, and she said "oh your table is ready" so I sat and guess what? I waited and waited some more. When I started to rise out of my seat and look around a server finally came over. I ordered a drink and yes, of course, I waited again. When she *finally* brought my drink I ordered food. Would love to have had another margarita, but she never came back to ask. The reason for the one star is the drink was good everything else terrible! Then without me asking for the bill she brought me the wrong bill, made me feel like she was asking me to leave. Also there was no pen..granted it was busy and I can be forgiving for a short wait, but I think an hour is s bit long. That combined with the lousy service and never seeing the server and so so food. No manager ever came by; I wish one would have. I've eaten at other Margaritas and gotten iffy service but this took the cake!! I will scratch this one off my list. Never again.

Trying to self-park at this place is a scary nightmare, as it is within a motel complex and there are just no spaces. The staff is overstreched, too, and therefore disorganized. Noisy setting, too, but that is not really the establishment's fault, per se, but they could maybe do something more for the sound/noise. Food is fine for what it is supposed to be. The older Margarita's in Waltham is much better than this newer one at this point.

We've tried to eat here twice but each time we've been quoted a wait time 30 min or longer, with a horde of hungry-looking people in the entryway suggesting that in reality the wait times were much longer. Each time we've left and gone someplace else to eat, so in that sense, Margarita's has been good business for *other* restaurants in the area. I've been to a Margarita's before, and it's tasty and all, but not worth a 45 min wait. I can go to the grocery store and make my own fajitas in that amount of time! I guess someday we'll be back when the novelty wears off for others and we can get a table, but until then we'll patronize our old standbys.

Met a friend here for lunch at his suggestion. A bit hard to get to due to the Rt 4/225 traffic and no left turn when coming from I-95. Parking was ok @ 1 pm, but I suspect it can get limited during dinner, etc. There is an overflow area with the hotel next door. We were seated right away. Service was very good. We both ordered the Beef Chimichanga with black beans. The steak inside was nicely cooked, but lacked the "spice" the waitress said was there. Came with some rice, salad and the usual condiments (sour cream, guac, etc). We also had a guac app, which wasn't bad. The salsa with chips were good, nice kick on the salsa. Price was very reasonable. Not a 5 star experience, but certainly nothing bad about it. I'd come back here for lunch or dinner.

Grossly disappointing experience. While we accepted that we were entering a chain restaurant, the food quality was poor. The cheeses were hardly cooked, and dishes were lukewarm. My cocktail order resulted in the bar not having the necessary ingredients, and diet pop substitute was not disclosed prior to delivery by the server. We will not visit again.

Went on a Friday night 6:30pm, got a table for 4, in 5 min. Food came out fast but, was gross. We ordered the Buckaroo Nachos.... let say up chuck a roo. First off it was enormous, like 4 people could eat it. What made it gross was the beef had a puke aftertaste. :o About the only thing good was the fresh corn chips you get when you sit down. Sum it up, I would not come back. Btw the staff was excellent.

Food is nothing special here, it passes. Their margaritas are nice and strong, you definitely get your money's worth here. I've been here a whole bunch of times (at least a dozen, easily), mostly after work, and service has always been quick and attentive. It's pretty much always a hit with coworkers when we've been here. The major, major downside here as others have noted is the parking. I never expect a spot next to the entrance but you will really have to hoof it way way down the hotel parking next door if you come here anytime even remotely around the dinner rush. And forget it if it's Thursday or Friday.

I've been here for lunch a few times. I'm amazed by all the bad reviews... Maybe it's worse at dinner, but for lunch it's very good tex-mex food! Service has been fine and I like the decor.

I visited this place for lunch today. Initially seeing the sparsely populated parking lot and the even more sparsely populated restaurant, we were worried that there might have been something wrong with this place. Fortunately, it turned out well as a standard Tex Mex restaurant. The service was decent as the waitress and hostess were attentive. The food was decent as well and the place is clean and well decorated. As were were sitting next to the windows, our area was well lighted too. This would be a place that we will revisit sometime.

Standard Tex Mex food, heavy on the cheese, light on the flavor, little pricier than it should be. One of those chains we all like well enough, but no one really loves. You all know the menu though, so this place had good enough service, we weren't waiting for our food long at all on a Thursday night. $3.50 20 oz PBRs, a few ~$5 20 oz indie brews. I might go again, but probably only if I was staying next door. In all honesty, you're going to get much better Tex Mex for 33% less money at Helen's Restaurant 10 minutes down the road. More family style than bar style there though.

DO NOT GO HERE!! This place is expensive and the food sub par. They didn't not have the ingredients to make my husband's margarita, even though the place is named after that drink. We knew it wasn't going to be a good meal when even the salsa was terrible. The queso was lukewarm and tasted like a bowl of cilantro in melted plastic. My enchiladas were drowning in room temperature melted cheese, some of it seemed to be ricotta which I didn't think was ever used (successfully) in Mexican fare. The food looked and tasted like Dollar Store cat food. It was mushy and flavorless, and I ended up going home and fixing myself something to eat. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and the food was surely not her fault, so I'll give them that. Don't bother going here.

I really do love the staff. They are all great people... very friendly. I love coming here for the atmosphere they provide. Occasionally, we are left waiting for longer than desired; sometimes when it's busy and sometimes when it's completely dead. That being said, I sorely wish the beer selection was better. I much prefer beer over drinks, but when the best beer they offer is Harpoon and it doesn't even taste very good from their tap, I am left feeling disappointed. However, their name *is* Margaritas for a reason. We started coming here over On the Border in Woburn because the margaritas taste *much* fresher - no strange, sugary premade concoction, as far as I know. Upgrading the tequila definitely makes a difference - albeit it's expensive, but that's understandable. The only thing that On the Border has over Margaritas is their offering of portabello mushrooms in fajitas for vegetarians. As a vegan, my only options really are salad or cheeseless burritos (their beans and rice are vegetarian - awesome) and I wish I could have some more filling addition to my salad or wrap. If you are eating in the bar area and have a smartphone, download the MyTouchTunes app. You can control the jukebox from your phone and the selection is amazing. Definitely worth it because the music is pretty loud and usually pretty bad.

Yikes. We came here for dinner tonight. Now, I happen to be a fan of the Margarita's in Waltham, which always served excellent drinks and pretty decent -- albeit unauthentic -- Mexican cuisine. This branch, however, is definitely not humming along to the same tune as Waltham's. The service was not the greatest, it was a Friday night and we were sitting at a bar table so we expected to have somewhat of a wait. But still, the waitress was starting to give the tortoise a run for his money. The drinks were fairly strong with a perfect salt rimming, score one for the bartender. That's where the pros of this evening's experience came to a screeching halt. The chips and salsa were subpar, and ordinarily I love Margarita's salsa because it's loaded with heat, but unfortunately t'was not the case here. The chips were stale and flavorless. For dinner I ordered my usual of chicken fajitas, platter style without tortillas. It took a while to get our meals, and when they did arrive I had been given steak instead of chicken. Not a problem, it appeared nicely cooked so I figured I'd just eat it. Besides, I didn't want to keep everyone waiting another 45 minutes. Big mistake, because it tasted as if someone in the kitchen had accidentally dumped an entire salt shaker over my plate. So gross. Interestingly enough, the rest of the food on the plate like the rice, beans and vegetables had no spice or flavor. And the condiments that come with the meal are literally teaspoon-sized dollops of sour cream and guacamole, five measly threads of cheddar cheese, and about a quarter of a cherry tomato. For reals? I asked for a side of guac and it was just another $.75 teaspoon in a cup. I was so disgusted that I didn't eat anything else, and just ordered another margarita instead. I strongly recommend going to the Waltham location before coming here. They've drastically cut back on their portions and quality all around yet retained their prices, and I don't want to be paying almost $40 for a meal like that. I could have literally dug through a garbage can, pulled out some scraps and dredged them over a salt lick, and would have had a more satisfying dinner than what I ate tonight. Guh-ross.

Avoid. The service is beyond bad. Drink order took 20 minutes to arrive. The restaurant wasn't even busy! The food arrived piping hot--so hot my daughter burned her finger when she bumped against the plate. The food was adequate, but the Enchiladas Banderas is just a gelatinous mass of undifferentiated sauces. There is clearly a management problem at this location and the only reason the restaurant survives is lack of competition/steady stream of customers from the adjacent motel.

The host was very friendly, we were sat quickly, nacho chips and salsa delicious, the margaritas were cold and perfect, the food was hot and tasty and our special requests were completed without issue, price was reasonable. Cannot ask for more. Love this place!

This is a new restaurant that just opened in Lexington on 4 & 225 where left-hand turns are illegal. I went here for dinner on a Saturday evening around 8:30. I called ahead, but when we arrived at the restaurant it was pretty empty. There was a large family with a bunch of kids sitting at a table near us. They were somewhat loud, but besides that the atmosphere of the restuarant was great with the Latin-themed music. We were promptly given a large basket of warm tortilla chips with salsa that had the perfect amount of heat. I ordered the chicken fajitas which were delicious. When the waitress brought it out, the plate was sizzling. It came with four tortilla wraps, a plate of grilled chicken with peppers and onions, rice, and black beans. Also, I received a small plate of pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and grated cheese. Having dined at Margaritas before and only ordering one of the entree salads, I would say the chicken fajitas were definitely worth ordering and I would definitely order them again. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food that you receive. Sign up for the eClub too because they will send you a birthday gift for $10 off dinner and also an anniversary gift a year later for actually signing up. We used the $10 off anniversary coupon and the bill was under $25 for two entrees and one soda. The service was pretty reasonable. Our waitress was attentive and brought us more chips when we requested.

I always have a great time when I come here. The food and drinks are tasty and the environment and staff are a lot of fun. It is a nice, new location and large enough so you usually don't have to wait too long to get a table. My biggest complaint is that it is illegal to make a left turn into the parking lot from the highway! I've been told the cops enforce that too. I suppose cops in Lexington have little else to worry about.

Finally! A decent place near work that you can grab a drink and is pretty lively. The margaritas are good, the beer good and the atmosphere is what you want to have to unwind after work....Fun! No mexican beers on tap though. They have a jukebox and free chips and salsa. The bar could be a little bigger to allow for larger groups to congregate near the bar. I had the chicken fajitas salad which was OK but not what I expected. I expected some lettuce, not the shredded lettuce for tacos. That is not a salad, it's a taco with too much lettuce. But as Jim Gaffigan pointed out, mexican food is basically some ratio of tortilla with cheese, meat, or vegetables. Parking sucks and they should really think about adding a roof deck or large patio area. Warm weather is here and they'd get a lot of people during and after work if they did. Dinner time tends to be fairly packed but that may just be for now since it's new. Food 6/10 - Meh, avoid the reviewed salad and the meals are mix of tortilla with cheese, meat, or vegetables. You know it, just in different ratios. Atmosphere 8/10 - After work hours are good. Feels like an authetic mexican restaurant? - 1/10 - Nope, not even close - Fail and the creepy statues on the walls just are cheesy. Likelyhood of learning spanish? - 8/10 - You may have to stay in the restroom the whole time but hey, you'd learn spanish!

i've been to other Margaritas establishments and didn't find much to write home about, but these guys earn an extra star for taking care of one of my soccer teammates who blew out her ACL and was waiting there for a ride the rest of the way home. Also, their chips were tasty, wings were decent, and they had Oskar Blues' pilsener on tap.

Excellent quality of food and service combined with an amazing authentic Mexican decor. The value is also amazing compared to what other restaurants of similar service and quality cost. Free chips and salsa whereas many places now charge extra for them. Very kid friendly but also fun for the adults, awesome handmade margaritas! Wayne Gorsek

I visited with my wife and 4.5 year old daughter recently. The place looked and smelled brand new. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially our waiter Nick. The food was very good. The salsa was spicy, the chips fresh, and my wife loved the tortilla soup. Not quite as good as we've had in LA, but tasted fresh, flavorful, and home made. My wife ordered the delightful lunch plate, which consisted of 6 grilled shrimp over a bed of grilled fresh pineapple, jicama, 1/2 an avacado, with a light cilantro sauce. We split a child's ice cream, which is more than enough for three. We will definitely be back. Hopefully the restaurant will be able to sustain this quality experience over time.

Margaritas is lucky to be in this location- they have no other competition. Came here for the first time (and last time) with a bunch of friends (party of 16). I know large parties are hard to handle on a Friday night, but with 2 waiters for us you would think the service would be great... not really. If anything, it was more confusing. Before i even ordered anything, i asked if i could have my check (and my gf's) separate because i had to leave early. Waiter (Nick) smiled and said, "No problem." Long story short- Nick didnt separate my part of the bill or anyone elses and we were all stuck there for another 45 min sorting it out. -Khemara

My thoughts. Fresh, fun atmosphere. Fresh, tasty chips and salsa. Very large portions. Food quality about what you would expect from a place like this - good enough, and served hot. The worst part was that the "special" margarita's were not tasty or enticing recipes, and they were too strong with the taste of bad tequila. I'd take my family again for a nice time out and an enchilada, but I'd order a beer.

I usually like Margaritas and its brand of Americanized Mexican food, but this location is a pain in the ass. First issue is it is always over crowded and secondly there is like zero parking. Seriously, how did they get away with building a restaurant with like 20 parking spots. Even worse is that they took half of them and turned them into valet spots which is totally ridiculous. The only trick I could find was to drive all the way to the back of the motel and come back up the alley on the left and park there. It was the closest I could get. The food and service is the same as all the other Margaritas locations with the exception of something they call the Fiesta zone menu. Its like a really cheesy bar snack menu. They really out did themselves with the marketing too. My favorite was the line for the 99 cent tacos which said just like the ones you get on the streets of Guadalajara. Unless you really love this place or live around the corner like my friend who I went with just go to Ixtapa instead.

3 Stars all around for this place.. But let me tell you what's 5 STAR about this place. Do you like hot sauce? Ask them for the their hottest hot sauce, Habañero "tough guy" Fuego sauce. It will burn going in and coming out. If you don't know what I'm saying then try it and you will soon find out how it feels to have YO a** on fire. Another thing worth 5 STARS... The fried ice cream dessert. OMG get it with both honey and hot fudge on the side. SO Fn good.

I watched as this restaurant was being built for MONTHS! I'm frequently in the area and long anticipated getting dinner and drinks here. I went with a group of four around 6 o'clock on a Saturday. We had no problem being seated (contrary to the experience of most yelpers). The decor was great! Everything was still clean and new. The atmosphere was fun and festive. The food was pretty good. Chips and salsa were complimentary, but the server quickly pushed some guacamole our way also. For the meal we had the Quesadilla Extravaganza, Shrimp/Chicken Fajitas, Cilantro Chicken, and Chicken with pineapple salsa. The portions were fine and the main dishes themselves were tasty. The sides were somewhat lacking: Sweet potato fries were out of place and the airy rice-cake things served with the guacamole were a poor substitute for more tortilla chips. The Jicama salad was unusual (huh? see here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jí… ) It was presented in raw strips with a teaspoon or so of cilantro sauce. Finally, given the name "Margarita's" I was unimpressed with the drinks. The table tried melon, strawberry, and mango margaritas. Melon/mango=decent. Strawberry=disgusting. End of story. Overall, the food didn't really have a wow-factor and the margaritas themselves were lacking. The prices were not bad, so for that and the convenient location its possible I'll go back again.

So Mexican, I know I know, we are from the Northeast & the furthest south or west I have been is Florida, so the Mexican I eat is prolly not all that authentic... But with that being said, I do love some Mexican food. I work on base and was pregnant at the time they were building the one here on Great Rd... Let me tell you I was a Happy Girl... so one night the BF and I are driving around deciding where to go (see : PR Bf who refuses to eat Mexican)... I mention it & he is soo hungry he agrees... We go in & I am amazed that it is this packed considering where it is, although it is attached to the Motel so maybe... I first run into several people I know which is somewhat irritating at the time because its too loud to talk to them... After 25 mins or so we are seated (keeping in mind I have my 11 month old with me)... We sit & are brought chips & Salsa, Great.. Who doesnt love Free Chips, until I take 1 bite of the Salsa... HOLY SHIT.. I LOVE HOT, but this was the weirdest Hot I have ever had... almost like it was developed in a lab with non food items... It was soo hot that I was unable to taste the rest of my meal which prolly helped out a little. Our waitress was nonexistent for pretty much the whole meal. She put a sizzling plate down in front of my son which had we not been paying attention would have resulted in a fun trip to the ER, and I know most people hate couples who bring their children out, but that doesnt negate the service I should receive around said child... After this incident we rushed through our meal & hurried out.. Over priced & WAY TOO LOUD!! Will stick to going to the Border (a much better place)

One of the worst experiences in waiting for a table in my life. We called ahead at 6PM and they said the wait was 30 minutes. So we arrived at 6:30. They never told us a time when we got there but gave us a pager. At 7PM i asked where we were on the list (and i was in line behind a few other people complaining about a long wait) to which the host told me that the 30 minute wait was the wait time at the time of the call and not how long you have to wait when you get there. So what is the point of call ahead? In any event when i asked where we were he said we had 4 more parties in front of us and it will be about 15 more minutes. At 7:40 (an hour and 40 minutes after we called and were told a 30 minute wait) we went back up to the host desk were we saw that our name was crossed out (without being called or the pager going off). At that point we asked to talk to the manager and the host said he was a 'director in training' and we can just talk to him (granted this is the person that just crossed our name out). From that point i asked if we were crossed out because we complained, to which he had a smug smile and didn't respond... In any event a manager finally came over and apologized and sat us. Once we sat they tried very hard to make up for this and even topped it off by having the general manager come out and completely comp our entire meal. So even though it was a terrible experience to start, they did hard to make up for it which is why i didn't give them one star. As far as the food, it was just OK. I would compare it to On the Border (pretty tasty but not very authentic). Overall it was a decent meal with terrible experience (we were just one of many groups that were getting screwed with wait time considering the host stand had a wait line of people complaining) so we might give it another shot or we might not. I do give them props for trying to win our business back. I also thought the waitress did a great job in trying to turn our experience around. Maybe we will try it again on a non-busy night, that might be your best choice as well. :)

If you like Mexican food (flavored for Americans) this is good place If you like great service, need table space to spend time and chat, this particular Margaritas is a good one. Some of the waiters/waitresses are awesome. Good parking available Not bad prices

Reasonably priced. Usually the food is pretty good (though most of the time I get the grilled shrimp and haven't tried too many other things) - it's just hard to eat when you start off with chips and salsa (usually quite good but a couple of times stale). The last time I went with a group, which is no problem space-wise, but the waitress seemed really disconnected, forgot to take a couple of orders then later forgot to bring them. They need to work on their wait staff.

Came here for lunch since we had a doctors apt. Next door...We had come in a half an hour after Margaritas opened and were sat at a dirty table and served dirty silverware, off the bat I was nervous. We ordered combo fajitas and a cheesy app. After our waitress brought us the correct order the appetizer wasn't all that bad. The fajitas were awful, dry chicken, watery steak and old onions! All in all I rather dine at Taco bell than come back here!!

okayy okayy... I am a southern girl through and through and I know SOME MEXICAN cuisine! In Texas you just aren't Texan if you don't love you some good south of the border flavor err...I mean...sabor! Well, Margarita's did NOT deliver. Not even a smidgen close might I add! This was by far the worst take on Mexican or Latin flavor I have ever had come across the table at me. It was like a tortilla with unseasoned boiled or steamed chicken, that was folded over...some cheese placed atop it and throw in the microwave for a minute or so. I was outraged...I took a lunch break to go here on a co-workers last day. The place wasn't loaded and it took them a WHILE to seat us, then after ordering it took a WHILE to get our food! Almost an hour later we got out microwaved meals. The food was bad and the service was worse. And their tortilla soup was a pureed something. Tortilla soup supposed to be a broth with chicken, avocado chunks and tortilla pieces...this was more like an ill tasting salsa from Margarita's. I see these restaurants popping up everywhere too... Lexington, Station Landing in Medford, Rever/Everett area... SUPER CHAIN and SUPER HORRIBLE. Sorry... just speaking what I feel on this one. One Star.

I'm all about supporting local businesses, but not at the expense of a meal masquerading as a mexican dish. . .I realize I'm new to the area, and grew up a large part of my life in Texas and southern California (both where great Mexican food is plentiful), but if Margaritas is standard fare for Mexican restaurants in New England then I'll pass. . .menu overcompensates its lack of taste with "sauces" of dubious nature. Every dish we ordered was covered in some variation of sauce. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise, so we couldn't actually taste the real food that was hidden underneath . . . Won't be going here again anytime soon. . .

We order takeout from this place semi regularly at my place of business and I'm shocked they still somehow make it into our weekly rotation. Interestingly enough we decided to order from Margaritas today and little to our surprise at least one of the orders wasn't what we ordered and in fact was actually mis-labeled. If this happened once or twice I probably wouldn't be writing this review, but given that this happens every single time, here I am. They seem to take what you order as only a suggestion and they add their twist or interpretation. It's sad really because seemingly enough they have good food but there is always some disconnect between the order placing, cooking, and labeling! Time for new management.

Had dinner last week and it was decent. We tried the newer silver tequila / blood orange margaritas they are pushing. They were very sour and not strong enough for my tastes. I had Enchiladas with rice and beans. Respectable dish with too much cheese at this branch (compared to many others I have been to). I found to combat the dryness I had to go nuts with the cholula. Chips and Salsa were excellent to start off as usual though with hot salsa. I think it's a reasonable choice and they have little competition in the immediate area for this kind of food.

I will never eat here again. The food was absolutely flavorless and they royally botched a takeout order. They were nice enough to give me a voucher, but the food was just as bad on the second visit. On the plus side, it is neat looking inside. They certainly have atmosphere.

Yuck. We were told that it was a good Tex/Mex chain that made terrific margaritas. The latter was ok, but the food awful. I ordered a drilled shrimp entree and the shrimp were undercooked and rubbery. My daughter's burrito was huge but tasteless, and my wife's taco soggy. My 10 year-old was happy with his kids' menu mini-burrito but he eats anything. Never again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
