Charming Mom and "Pup" diner with excellent, creative fare and a nice view of the canal and Great Stone Dam. They rock the classics, but also offer a wide variety of alternatives. Mini Belgian Waffles are doughnut-sized pillows of flavor, and buttermilk pancakes are also complemented by the real, not-from-a-plastic-container Maple Syrup. A vintage little, family-friendly spot with several booths and something for every taste, breakfast or lunch. Steady stream of customers knows this is a gem.

Trying to find a place to eat at 11am on Father's Day was a bad idea. Went to a few other places before settling on the Three Dogz Diner. Sat immediately and put in our drink orders and mulled over the menu for awhile. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and the egg was PERFECTLY poached. Seriously. Perfect. The English muffin was toasted and crisp but still chewy and everything else on the plate was delicious. Also had the Southern Biscuit Dessert (I think that's what it was called...) which was a fresh biscuit smothered in butter and honey... mmmmmm... The most interesting part of our meal? The raccoon trying to claw its way up the canal wall with it's baby in its mouth. The managers actually went outside and tied a rope to a ladder and put it down into the canal so the little lady could get up more easily. When she did, everyone cheered. Good way to spend brunch.

I would not have expected to find such an excellent restaurant so far from the beaten path. The wait staff was friendly and the interior quaint, clean and inviting. The food was delicious and the portions ample.

The outside of the diner leaves something to be desired, but inside it is quite a cute little place. Very clean with SUPER friendly wait staff. The cook even shouted a getting from the kitchen on the way in. They really go all the way to making you feel welcome. I got the brisket and eggs breakfast combo with grilled English muffins (wow) and home fries. My wife got the ribs and eggs combo with BBQ'ed beans (breakfast fine right). And the prices are extremely reasonable. Really recommend this place!

I went here recently with my friend and we really enjoyed ourselves. Its a cute quaint diner, the people are so nice and I love that where we sat the windows faced the canal and all the sunlight came in. We had tried going a few other places for breakfast but they were either closed or weren't service breakfast or only took cash. We found this place on Yelp, walked in and everyone greeted us with a resounding HELLO. We were quickly seated and they let us know they were still doing pancakes and french toast but no other breakfast, so we decided to each get the pancakes and then got mashed potatoes and backed mac and cheese. It was a wonderful carb session after doing a huge weight training workout and cardio session. The portions were perfect, the pancakes huge and fluffy. IT was a lovely experience we will definitely be back!

The food is so good I'm typing this review through crumbs and bbq sauce. Local place. Great atmosphere and the staff are easy on the eyes.

The mimosas with breakfast was awesome! Cute little local diner. I recommend making this stop.

Totally in love with this little piece of Lawrence! Nothing better after night-shift than going to a diner where they greet you by first name and know your order :-) I've had a few different items on the breakfast menu, but I LOVE The Holly with maple syrup, and a side of crispy bacon! The Holly is basically a soufflé-like baked French toast stuffed with cream cheese. It would be a waist-line killer if you ate it every day, but once or twice a month it's an awesome treat!

Great little diner for a weekend breakfast. Had the three egg omelet and my wife had the breakfast rubin. Portions are very large and the food was fresh. My son had a side pancake and bacon and it was perfect. Plenty of parking and a very family friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Added hands in kitchen brings great food to our table quicker. Still fabulous food at a great value. New wait staff is great, attentive and friendly. Sheila and George always seem to find terrific workers.

Being up in the area to see our daughter who goes to Merrimack we found this very nice place on yelp. It's a very small personal place (only 9 small tables in the whole place). We waited for about ten minutes before a table opened up. While waiting I saw the two owners in the kitchen working and admired the numerous awards on the wall. Being Sunday morning we had breakfast....great menu. As I read most of everything there is home made. I had biscuits and gravy with over easy eggs and eggs Benedict .....I know what your thinking (oink oink!!) but I couldn't resist ordering both. My wife had the rib eye with eggs, hash browns, and toast. My daughter had french toast. All the food was very good as was the service and I will definitely be back to try the BBQ.

A very cool little diner. Great view of the Merrimack River, VERY friendly service, and consistently good quality breakfasts. (Haven't done lunch or dinner here.) Hash and home fries are terrific. Parking is easy. Much more affordable that that diner in Andover...

  • Hallie D.

Went here on a sunday morning, we both had the eggs benedict with the traditional hash- yummy and super filling. The food took a while to come out but they were super nice about it because they were short staffed. Really cute location right on a the river, will definitely be back!

Don't judge a book by its cover. I was hesitant to try it just judging by the locale and look of it from the outside on a rainy day, but am so glad we did. Inside is clean and welcoming. Food is homemade and tasty (I had the chicken melt, mmm). My husband loved the briscuit sandwich and the salad was fresh. Prices are "normal" as in 2.75 for a grilled cheese seems about right for my kid. Staff very friendly. Coming off the highway was super convenient and interesting to see how they are rejuvenating the mill buildings. Do it.

This is exactly what a diner should be! Stopped off on my way to Jury Duty - the staff and owners were warm and friendly, attentive and put out a great breakfast. The inside is cozy and the ol' local boys and their humor are a treat. One day I walked in hurriedly announcing I was late, the owner asked what I needed in and started cooking it as I sat down. That is service - and with a smile. Won't go to Jury Duty again w/out making this my morning stop!

A real find! Delicious food, classics and some classics with a bit of a twist (sweet potato hash), quiche, biscuits... Friendly and welcoming staff and vibe. Love the dog theme!

This is really a hole in the wall! I have passed through the place a lot many times but never realized there was a restaurant there. I am really glad that I looked it up and made a trip. Initially I was like "uuhhh do I really want to go inside and have edible food". But I was proved wrong he moment I stepped inside. It felt at home when you enter and the folks who work there really take good care of you. We had scrambled eggs, corn beef hash and their french toast with cream cheese stuffing. It was tasty and satisfactory. Wanted to try their Quiche but had no place left to take it down. That would definitely be on my list next time I visit. I would visit again. I promise! Not good for large parties, its a small place. If you in for the food, then you come to the right place, if you coming in for ambiance then definitely at a wrong place. Enough parking they got so not worry about that.

We frequent this place nearly every weekend, the food is good, the service is better. We have never had bad food, but the buffet on Sunday's some guests leave the lids open and the eggs (not omelette bar) is usually dried out. Also, the sometimes serve the coffee while it's still brewing (industrial brewer) and that makes the coffee bitter. They always have corrected it. And are always kind. I don't eat meat, and on the buffet it's hash Benedict but they make it for me with out the hash which I really appreciate!

  • Gina L.

I've been here now for breakfast and lunch and they were both great meals! It's a very unassuming place, but the couple who runs it are awesome and can make some really good food.

  • Cearabrooke G.

I loved it!!! Not over priced, very welcoming and comfortable. Easy parking! The outside really doesn't give the Diner justice!! But my over all favorite part was enjoying my classic breakfast outside under a umbrella table with the family ( Including my DOG!) They brought out a water bowl and everything!! Amazing stag and food!!! *** Dog Friendly***

  • Tim K.

Very friendly service and great food. I had a perfectly sized portion of eggs Benedict surrounded by crispy, flavorful Homemade Hash. Kids had pancakes and French toast while watching a muskrat snoop around the canal banks from our table window. We were all pleasantly surprised to see a couple large carp come up to chomp down a few errant pieces of toast....that seem to regularly get tossed out the back at a certain time each morning. I thought the coffee mug was a little smaller than usual but it was never an issue as our attentive waitress never let it remain empty for very long. If we lived in the area, this would be a regular stop in for us. The interior was small, but very clean. Same for the restroom. The owners and employees seem to really take care of things. The outside area is not much to look at and the parking lot is in rough shape too. Just goes to show you cant always judge a book by its cover. Thanks yelp and all the previous reviewers. We would never have found or stopped here if not for you. We are very glad we did.

Great place. Found it on yelp as we were here for a mtg from out of town! Perfect little dinner! Staff was great!

Linda is great - so welcoming and knows her customers (there were plenty of regulars when I went). I felt right at home and part of the family (sometimes when you go to local joints you feel like an outsider - not here!). I got the special - Brunswick stew and chicken salad on wheat. Simple and hit the spot on a dreary day. Treated myself to dessert and had the best pumpkin cheesecake and cup of coffee I've ever had - generous slice topped with homemade whipped cream mmmmmm... I stopped here for lunch in between meetings and was in and out in under 30 and didn't feel rushed at all. I'll definitely be coming back!!

  • Rob D.

Been coming here since they opened, the food is always delicious. Service is always friendly. Biscuits n gravy with a side of their scratch made hash on the breakfast menu is my go to if I want breakfast. but the steak and cheese sets the bar and blows away other steaks as they use the smoked brisket. I can no longer get steak and cheeses anywhere else as there is no comparison for flavor and tenderness.

Amazing breakfast a few weeks ago. Came highly recommended by a friend who dines here almost every week. I had the three-mini Belgian waffles with maine blueberry sauce, the homemade corned beef hash with a scrambled egg and coffee. All were delish. My hubby had the standard two eggs, ham, sausage, toast, OJ and coffee, brother in law had a veggie omelet, home fries, toast and coffee and my sister, the Belgian waffle special - carrot cake mini waffles with the cream cheese icing on top ... fabulous! Total check for 4 without tip: $42. What a bargain, a great view, excellent, friendly service and wonderful food! Definitely a fan and we'll be back!

  • Mercedes T.

It has a parking lot, which is great! I liked their eggs Benedict and their corn hash is mostly meat. Their bacon is extra crispy-- which is just how I like it! The owner is personable and the service is awesome. We got a window view of the Merrimack River. Also, their drink menu is cheap! 3 dollars for a cup of wine? Beers that are less than 4 bucks? I will definitely come back here to try their other food! :)

I love diners and this one is at the top of my list for sure!!! It's small feels like you are in a train! It has a beautiful view of Lawrence and the Merrimack river fall and the O'Leary bridge! If you get a window seat you may get lucky and see a few fish floating from what may seem under the diner! Their eggs benedict is the best! The coffee always hot like Ilike it! And all your food comes out at once no waiting!

I don't know how my diner radar missed this place. On a corner in a not-so-fancy neighborhood, there's not much to the outside. Inside, real diner food at fair prices with friendly service. I ordered my usual baseline breakfast of eggs over easy with ham, home fries. I saw a pretty good looking grilled blueberry muffin go by so I ordered one of those instead of toast. The breakfast menu has a number of combinations; if you want ham and eggs there is a build-your-own breakfast section. I waited what seemed a long time for a couple of eggs, but my coffee was kept refilled. When they arrived, the eggs were excellent. The ham was okay, and the home fries were distinctive: a large portion of hand-cut parboiled potatoes that had been lightly grilled and sprinkled with, I think, paprika. A nice take. The grilled muffin was very good, and brought me back to my childhood days in the diners of New Bedford. The clientele was a mix of age groups from young professionals to senior citizens. Many of the clients were regulars, but the staff was friendly and efficient to all. The real thing. I'll be back.

Stopped by this diner for a quick breakfast before hitting the road. Service is what you would expect. Slow paced but not slow enough to bother you. You can't get any better view of the spillway than here. The food was homey and delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy and they did not disappoint. The biscuits were perfectly flakey and moist at the same time, perfect consistency to sop up the savory delicious gravy that melted in your mouth. It was a great experience to work in Lawrence for a day and I would stop by Three Dogz Diner every time I visited moving forward. YUM.

Just happened to stumble into this tiny diner enroute to a meeting. And it was by far the best Reuben I have ever had. Cute place, charming and attentive waitress, and super affordable. I will definitely stop in again next time I'm in town.

This place is awesome if you love a good diner experience! We stopped in-wanting to try it since we moved to the neighborhood-and we are so happy we did! Everyone is so friendly, the prices are affordable, and the food is tasty :) I got The Dottie (a breakfast reuben-the greatest idea for breakfast ever) and my fiancé got the brisket (he loved it). You can't go wrong here. They have a great burger menu too, I'm sure we'll be back for lunch sometime!

** eat here if you support unethical business practices and hostile work enviroments, as we experienced as strangers who ventured to eat here ** full review below: My boyfriend and I travel all of NH and MA visiting different diners - considerate a fun adventure if you will. In December, we were introduced to Restaurant.com . That said, we purchased a gift certificate to Three Dogz Diner. Gift certificates essentially have no expiration date unless the relationship is discontinued from the restaurant and if the restaurant does it the correct way the purchased gift certificate can then be exchanged for a different restaurant. If a restaurant doesn't follow the procedure then you lose it - and you go to the restaurant believing your gift certificate is still valid. That aside, we went to the restaurant and all seemed well until we waited over 45 minutes for four orders of French toast and an omelet. ** the waitress was GREAT though ** In the mean time every time the owner (we figured out that she was the owner, and then a guy owner as well) came onto the floor the waitstaff would cringe. What an awful way to feel seeing the waitstaff work so hard and then have such a fear within them. Anyways, bill came (and we all have job so paying a bill With or without the certificate is perfectly fine) - and they wouldn't accept the certificate. Problem is, when we first arrived I showed them the certificate on my phone and it was acknowledged. Great! I always check first when I used them as a rule of thumb. So the bill arrives and there is no discount and I don't understand. The waitress has to get the female owner who says they don't accept them anymore because they ceased their relationship with restaurant.com . I explain how I showed it when I first arrived, I explain that they are still active on the site and I request the certificate be used. Again, if the diner has ceased their relationship the right way - the website would have shown that and I would be able to "exchange it" online. It has not been done correctly - the restaurant just stopped accepting them. HERES THE KICKER - so the owner says to the waitress "it will come out of your paycheck" and tells me "we will honor it (aka: waitress pays for it)". My waitress did not deserve to suffer the consequences of a poorly executed marketing strategy of the owners, nor the lack of leadership the owners show by illegitimately "ceasing" their contract with restaurants.com . They used a quick, bait and switch, at the cost of their staff ("out of your paycheck")!! Then the owner asked who acknowledge the certified and I share which employee had. Next, what happens it as unreal as it is uncomfortable ... That employee "disappears" and then comes directly to our table angry, aggressive and hostile "my boss told me one of you had something to say....". Presumably, the owner, again passed responsibility off to it's employees who seemed like a fuse was lit under their bottom. As a manager myself, in the top 1% of my company (not to highlight my own success for any other reason than to show that my leadership has yielded results) I have truly owned that a leader is someone who is successful because of their team. As I left, I paid my bill, addressed my concerns about being approached with threatening behavior from one of their employees as a result of their mistreating of their employees and addressed the shameful Behavior of threatening to deduct discounts from our waitresses paycheck. At that time the owners offered to comp our bill! Really? Money was never the issue, principle was, and my anger was a result of the poor treatment of its employee. I went to tip my waitress (+30%) and the owner took the tip give it back to me? NO! The waitress deserves it, wish I could snatch her out of there. Shame on the owners. I truly hope you get a swift kick of reality and realize your unethical business practices and unethical treatment of employees has been noticed, and it's wrong on so many levels. For that reason, we will not support your place of business - if you're reading this review we encourage you not to support this place because their employees deserve better work conditions. -- a concerned guest (I'm writing this less than 30 minutes after we have left, on my iPhone as a result of concerning working conditions - please excuse the typos)

We were "wowed" when we went there a few weeks ago for breakfast! Had mixed expectations based on good reviews here, but an ugly exterior when we arrived. Opened the door and voila-inside, it's dated but immaculately clean! All the food was delicious. Was especially impressed with the fresh cut fruit, and the delicious complementary scones we were given (and I'm usually not a fan of scones). Exceptional service from a team who act like they truly care for the customers! They seemed to know most of the other diners there, but went out of their way to make us feel welcome too. We'll be back for sure.

Randomly stumbled upon this place AMAZING Restaurant it is a rare jewel of a place in Lawrence . Whether you are a regular or a visitor you will be warmly greeted. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, It's a restaurant I am always happy to take friends and family to and know that we'll have a great dining experience.I love this place Absolutely *everything* is beyond good, it's great......Though I would love to be selfish and keep Three Dogz Dinner all to myself, the work of the Chef and staff is too good to stay hidden for long. There's no doubt a table at Three Dogz Dinner will quickly become the hottest reservation in town.

Easily drive by this place 100 times without noticing this charming diner. Definitely a hidden gem. Just brave the neighborhood while driving in and you would be rewarded with a nice view of the river, friendly service, and a nice meal. Very limited seating but I've never had a problem getting seated for brunch.

Found this place on Yelp and my only complaint is that I can't give this diner 10 stars. We were looking for a diner that was in town and close to the hotel. This was fantastic and the service was even better. I don't really review many places I go, but if you are in this area, you would be doing yourself a disservice but not coming here.

Great breakfast -- the coffee was satisfying and the made-from-scratch quiche really hit the spot on a Thursday morning. The muffins are rectangular, the view is decent, and the service is good. I highly recommend this place.

I have been here 3 times. Breakfast(1 time) Eggs were typical Homemade complementary scone was amazing, good bacon, and great home fries. Fresh fruit cup was also nice. Freshly squeezed orange juice would be nice like all the other food served, but it is not a big flaw because it does not taste like the disgusting minute maid orange juice. Lunch (2 times) Had coned beef (homemade thick cut) sandwich. It was great. The bun was nicely toasted too. It would be nice if the homemade fries came with it (like the burgers and other sandwiches, you can get a side, but I just munch on the fries of others at my table) All three times I have been there was only one table open when I walked in, but no wait. Is always extremely clean inside with good customer service and GREAT PRICES for the AMAZING FOOD!

  • Mallory T.

The restaurant looks pretty scary from the outside and we actually almost drove away to avoid going in...but I'm glad we went! Inside was very "diner-like". The staff was very nice, outgoing, and attentive. The food took a bit longer to come out than typical for a diner but it was great. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.

Delicious breakfast, friendly service and reasonable prices make this Lawrence diner a gem for the entire region. I had an amazing omelet, along with a fabulous corned beef and hash. The waffle was a little softer than we prefer -- nothing that a special request won't cure in the future. We will be back!

I have worked in the area for about 6 years, and only fell upon this place over the summer. I so wish I knew of this place before. The best breakfast and the best lunches. Excellent quality food, taste and portion. Service with a smile. Many varieties of plates to choose from. They even serve beer and wine. The waitress on weekends that I went, was so friendly and made myself and my friend laugh and smile. We didnt want to leave, we wanted to stay and hang out after our meal, but had to get back to class.

Met my friend for breakfast here this morning, and I was pleasantly surprised w/ the location. Given, I am someone who actually likes Lawrence, so I didn't mind the dingy, random location next to "Halloween Headquarters." The pleasant surprise was the large windows w/ the immediate view of the river right next to you (and the waterfall in the near distance). I thought it looked really nice- I felt like I was somewhere else. Anyway, the food-- hm, it was okay, I guess, not that great, though. I had an omelette w/ american cheese, mushrooms and spinach. This came with home fries (which I never like that much b/c they're always kind of bland/not crisp, and these were on the bland/not-very-well-cooked side as well), an orange slice, and an english muffin (doused in butter, to my dismay). I dunno, I like my own omelettes better.. so wouldn't come back for the food per se, but would easily come back just for the heck of it / pleasant view. Next time though, I will try the pastries instead of savory stuff (or maybe the quiche). There is a fresh pastry case in front, which I didn't notice til on my way out-- all sorts of baked goodies that looked good!

Great breakfasts and excellent barbecue, and even a breakfast barbecue special some days. Menu not too large but typical diner food of excellent quality. Smallish place but very friendly. Recently obtained a beer/wine license and the prices are good. We go at least once a week. Nice view of the river & canal, ample parking.

The food was fine but the service was very slow and the waitress had an incredibly hard time understanding that my wife, who is a vegetarian, didn't want meat in her sandwich. There are way too many great breakfast places in the area for me to bother with this one again.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by a friendly "hello" by someone who seemed to have been the owner and were promptly waited on by another kind employee. We had set to go out to our regular breakfast place on Saturday morning but it was apparently closed due to the family being on vacation. After looking up nearby diners, we reluctantly went to this one (it's in a bit of a rough area). We were so pleased to find such a warm and inviting place with a quaint charm that you would find in a wonderful country diner. The service was fantastic and it was explained to us that the food is all made from scratch (and with love). The food arrived and everything was absolutely delicious. The Eggs Benedict had a sweet unique taste and was truly the best I've had in quite sometime. I am very excited that we found this place and look forward to returning again!

I've been here twice now in recent months. The food is excellent. I had blueberry pancake special with bacon. Came with 4 pancakes and 2 strips of bacon for $5.99. Too much to finish, had to take it home. My husband had the "Dottie". A Ruben sandwich with an egg in it. He really loved it. Coffee is fresh and hot. Service is very good and attentive. Food takes a long time to get though. We waited over twenty minutes for our food and only two tables were occupied. Second time there and second time the food took a long time. Quality is there so the wait will have to be overlooked. Just don't go of you're in a hurry.

So everything here is home made and delicious. The owners Sheila and her husband are so nice and obviously dog friendly, they even let you bring your dogs ( outside only). How cool is that. Glad I found them.

Brunswick Stew, thick with barbecued beef, corn, and potatoes. Homemade pumpkin cheesecake topped with real whipped cream. Generous portions. Great prices. Cheerful, friendly service. Great view of the Lawrence South Canal waterfall. And, did I mention - free wifi... I agree with io s. - I hate to spill the beans and let even more people know about this place but, heck, they deserve it. I just don't know how long they will be able to stay so small. Do yourself a favor and just go there. You won't be sorry!

I'm reviewing Three Dogz & I don't even like dogs! OK bad humor outta the way, I've never experienced Three Dogz for breakfast, only lunch. Though I hope one of these days to rectify that, since I'll definitely be going back. Three Dogs Diner is a teensy little diner overlooking the canal and the Great Stone Dam. Sandwiches run $4.79-$8.39. The barbeque sandwich has a dry rub and they offer two bbq sauces on the table, house & vinegar. I preferred the vinegar but a friend preferred the house. The sandwich is good without the wet sauce as well. The turkey in the smoked turkey sandwich was a titch dry but was good regardless. I added american cheese to mine. The horseradish cranberry sauce was good but more horseradish than cranberry. The chicken melt was fabu, 'nuff said. For sides, I've tried the coleslaw, baked macaroni and cheese & potato salad. The mac & cheese is served pie wedge style. Although it is not a gooey soupy mess, if you can get past the different style, it is yummilicious. The cole slaw is truly hand cut, not that pre-bagged cabbage & the dressing is tasty. The best of the lot was the potato salad, probably the best I've ever had. It has chopped green pepper which really doesn't add much aside from a little color. Saving the best for last is the desserts. Pecan pie was rich and dreamy. Chocolate cheesecake had a nice cheesecake flavor but not much chocolate oomph.. Whipped cream made in house was amazing. So even though I'm normally a cat person, I can't wait to go back again and spend some time with Three Dogz.

I like diners! Since moving to New England in 2007, we often search these places out for a sampling of local cuisine. The Three Dogz is tucked into a tiny corner of Lawrence, along the canal that runs along the south side of the river. As others have stated, you get a great view of the Merrimack and the dam. We enjoyed our food, stopping in on a Sunday before heading to the New Balance store. When the food FINALLY arrived, it was quite good, but the service was slow and haphazard. We asked for spoon...got it ourselves. We asked for water....never came. We asked for coffee refills...never came. We enjoyed the food but the service was so lousy its hard to think about going back.

Cozy and delicious, I only wish I had more opportunities to go out for breakfast in the area. Three Dogz Diner is a charming little restaurant by the river with friendly staff and a great menu.

Disappointed in what's been done with the steak and cheese. Used to be an amazing mound of enough shaved brisket to feed a family of 4. Now it's cubes of brisket that was very fatty and a much more reasonable quantity. Same price though. I hate hate hate fatty meat. Picked about 1/2 the meat out.

I can't say enough good things about this place. A buddy of mine is a regular and used to live in Lawrence. They have excellent desserts, great BBQ and good breakfasts. My favorites are the BBQ brisket and Turkey sandwiches ,Brunswick stew and Strawberry shortcake. All 3 types of BBQ sauce are excellent. I believe most thing are made from scratch. It's cheap, homey diner style eating. Owners and waitresses are friendly. Nice view of the canal and falls.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE 3 Dogs! I go about once a week (every Sunday), for brunch with my dad. The prices are insanely cheap, the food is absolutely divine (especially any of the bbq), and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We're always welcomed by the owners, Sheila and George, who have worked their butts of to make this place what it is. Sometimes you have to wait for a seat- the diner is itty bitty, but the food, prices, and atmosphere make it absolutely worth the wait. Try sitting in a booth next to the river, it's fun for kids (small and grown) to see the fish!

People have caught on to this place, which is bad for me, but good for the place (so, ultimately, it's good for me, too, if I think about the big picture). You can't be in a hurry; that's the only possible drawback. But that's because the food is all fresh, cooked to order and, even if you guttle your food, the owners and staff are so nice, it's tough to leave without chatting a bit, first. Rarely get there in time for breakfast (unless I get there on a Sunday before the football games start), so I've never had the pancakes or whatever. However, the lunches -- from barbecue brisket sandwiches to "Italian meat loaf" (think a prosciutto-stuffed meatball about the size and shape of a gold bar, to the ridiculously simple yet popular-in-the-Valley "chicken barb" sandwich -- are spectacular, as I've said before. And all the desserts are fresh, made on the premises and available with made-from-scratch whipped cream. Jesus Christ, right? Anyway, go there.

Authentic diner experience. Great fish and cheese sandwich on Fridays. Another vote for the Eggs Benedict.

Since I've been a resident of the fair city of Lawrence, I've been trying to find out places to eat. Typically diners are places where locals hang out, so me not being a local, I wasn't very sure if what welcome I would receive. That was exactly what I experienced in some of the other dinersin Lawrence. I decided to give Three Dogz Diner, on Broadway, a try, as I'm a big fan f breakfast. Man, this place is a hidden gem. The food tastes nothing like the run-of-the-mill diner food that usually is quickly made from a grocery bought frozen bag. I come here every single weekend morning and enjoy the view of the Merrimack river dam and the canal that flows right by the diner. The owners and the waitstaff are cordial and also know when not to disturb. I usually have my staple - 2 eggs, 2 sausage links and 2 slices of rasin toast (all for $2.50!) with a side order of home fries. The home fries are the best around this area and have the right amount of spices and onions. The French toast with raisin dish called "Holly" is a wonderful change. However, the breakfast menu doesn't have a lot of variety, though. Every single picture on the wall has 3 dogs on them. Gazing down from the windows into the Canal you often feel like you are on a river cruise. The downside to this wonderful place is that your wait is quite long - the kitchen is quite small. But for pepole like me whose Saturday mornings are left apart for to savour a good breakfast reading a magazine, I don't mind it all. One of these days, I'll try the brisket and pulled pork sandwich that other reviewers are raving about.

My family wanted to go out to breakfast, and naturally IHOP and Denny's come to mind for them. However, I wanted them to have the All-American, home-cooked breakfast, diner experience. After reading reviews on Yelp, I felt like this place might be the best fit, and it turned out to be a good choice. My family of 4 ate fresh pancakes, eggs benedict, and home fries to their hearts' content for $30 (excluding tip) - with leftovers to take home. The food tasted great, the pancakes were cooked to perfection, and the home fries weren't overloaded with salt and grease like at other diners. The restaurant itself is very cute and quaint, and the staff is warm and friendly. Don't be fooled by its location or the fact that it is in Lawrence - I think it has the potential to be a great little neighborhood gem.

Three Dogz serves a pretty good breakfast or dinner, and the staff is friendly and efficient. But there are other places around that serve better food. I prefer the Shawsheen Luncheonette or Charlie's Diner, both of which offer better quality food.

What a gem! Sheila's cheesecake is so good it could raise the dead and her "ice box cake" could talk someone down from a ledge. Treats are served with extra-thick home made whipped cream. The cheesecake is thick, with a wonderful texture, and a crust of home made chocolate chip cookies. The top and side of the cake is browned nicely, adding contrast to the creamy middle. Not too sweet. I prefer it without the hershey's chocolate syrup that it is served with because the plain cake has such complex and subtle flavors. The ice box cake is a chocolate trifle, this is an old fashioned dessert that people used to make with left over cake, but Sheila uses her own brownies. Imagine thick whipped cream, chocolate pudding, fudgy brownies, and cherries layered in a parfait glass and nicely chilled. So delicious it is sinful. If you like chocolate mousse, you will love this! I shared mine with two others---all of us pigs---and we couldn't finish it. High quality, low price, friendly service, amazing location, GREAT FOOD! The brisket is to die for. Pastrami is also wonderful The beans are great. The desserts are home made---try the chocolate pudding pie with the shortbread crust. New Brunswick stew made with the ends of the on-site smoked meats and turkey. Now where can you find that? Basic breakfast is a bargain and done just right----wonderful homefries. Try to get a booth overlooking the water. We saw ducks, fish, waterfalls....this place is loaded with charm, character, authenticity. The couple who own the place are in the kitchen making your food, but are accessible and interested in talking to you about how they cook and what you think. Worth the drive to Lawrence, if you are not already in the neighborhood.

On our way to take our dog hiking today we took a "wrong" turn and decided to stop here to have lunch. Good things happen when you least expect it. My boyfriend had a delicious pulled pork BBQ sandwich and I had a corned beef (homemade corned beef!) sandwich. Both were amazing. We sat on their small patio with our dog and although the view was not amazing, the pleasant conversation with our hosts made up for it. As the restaurant is small, it is understandable that the wait may be long at times. Therefore I recommend going at an off-time or be patient. It's worth it!

Thank you again Yelp for leading me off the highway and into something special. This very small diner had an unusual and delicious menu. The brisket breakfast was wonderful. Sweet potato hash --- mmmm. Do try the home made bbq sauce on the brisket. Husband had "The Dotty" which was a breakfast version of a ruben sandwich. He really liked it. Friendly, attentive waitstaff.

Great simple food! We went for our first time over the winter during a particularly bad snow storm and were hooked. The ultimate in comfort breakfast food... Love the biscuits and gravy.

Refreshing place. Owners are dedicated to food preparation and to the customers. Very comfortable but limited seating. Selection of barbecue sauce very good. Small but comfortable menu. Good coffee.

Don't let the fact that it's a little out of the way place in Lawrence slow you down - this is a great place to go for breakfast and lunch. We went on a very snowy Sunday for breakfast and it was exactly what we needed. Kid had a great pancake that was just what he wanted. I was very happy with my home-cooked eggs and sausage. The lunch items looked yummy, we must go back again.

went today and thought it was OK. even though this place has the feel of a diner it lacks the expansive breakfast menu i usually associate with diners. i wanted to get the biscuits and sausage gravy but they were sold out. settled on the sweet potato corned beef hash, home fries, toast, eggs over easy and bacon with a large OJ. the eggs were cooked as ordered but the corned beef hash was so sweet it tatsed more like candy than breakfast food. i'm not saying it was bad but after a while the sweetness lost its novelty. the home fries were good but could of used a bit more crisping on the griddle. the OJ was decent but at $3.29 for a large (12oz?) glass i felt that a bit much. the place is very clean and cheery and has a view of the canal where i saw a lot of carp swimming around and some woodchucks playing on the banks. i will most likely be back to try the biscuits and gravy or for something out of the smoker as i got a pretty good whiff on my way out the door and it smelled pretty good.

This was really 3 star fare with the exception of the tasty desserts which bumped it up :-) I wasn't a big fan of the macaroni and cheese and it wasn't hot and was more cheese with occasional pasta instead of pasta with cheese. Lots of items were microwaved which bothers me. The pulled pork and BBQ chicken sandwiches were both good, but neither stood out as something I'd run back there for. All of my complaining set aside, I'd go back there for more pumpkin cheesecake anytime :-)

This is a bran new diner/restaurant right across the broadway bridge in awful Lawrence. I just got breakfast here but they do serve lunch. This place is small but spacious....7 tables but it isnt cramped together. There was one waitress when I went (Tues at 1130a.m) but service was still good. I ordered coffee ($1) 2 eggs, h/f ($2) and pancakes ($4.29 for 4). Eggs are eggs but cooked perfectly, the h/f were like potato wedges and were awesome (they were served w/ cooked onions) and the pancakes were light and fluffy and tasty. The total was $9.42 so not too bad. Prices are very reasonable.. the lunch looks AWESOME so I will def go back for that. They serve pulled pork sangwhiches, beef brisket meatloaf chicken pot pie mac n cheese etc. Def smells good. Very clean EXCEPT for the ketchup tops...those were dirty (growing up in a diner, I always look). I would rather give this place 3.5 stars but benefit of the doubt i'll give them the 4. They have a small parking lot on the side of the bldg. The only downside here is that it is in Lawrence. Bfast cost $6 or under lunch looks to be about $8 and under.

Awful! Never going back. Went there today for the first time. Took over an hour to get served breakfast! Just eggs over... Waitress was pleasant but never apologized for wait. Owner could've cared less when we spoke to him. Food was good, place was clean, but who wants to wait an hour to eat breakfast in a diner? People all around us took as long & others walked out. One party waited over 30 minutes fo MUFFINS! I don't' care how cute the place is or how good the food is - I won't go back. Sam's Steak Out (the previous restaurant in this space) was kinda dirty, but food and service were always good. This place cleaned up and is cute, but the kitchen is not equipped to keep up with the demand - save your time and money and go elsewhere!

I've been to Three Dogz twice. I tend to avoid coffee at restaurants and diners, but I gave theirs a try and I love it. Woo hoo! I grew up in the west with little diners like this and I like the food and the friendly atmosphere. I love the dog theme. If you want a huge variety you will never find it at a diner. They make the same good quality food over and over again for those of us who appreciate being able to eat simply made, wholesome food. In fact, the portions are kind of big for me. The trick to not having to wait in a limited space location is to go at off hours. So far, so good. Kudos to the cooks and the staff - neat, clean, easy access parking, there are no negatives.

Wonderful breakfast place....delicious pancakes, eggs cooked to perfection but the neatest part of it is that they have Grits and Sweet Potato hash too. Very reasonably priced too! More importantly, Sheila and George do an amazing job at catering! We had a Southern BBQ style graduation party recently. We served ribs, brisket, and chicken thighs, three different BBQ sauces, cornbread, Mac n cheese and potato salad. Everything was fabulous. Our guests went in for two and three servings! George and Sheila put their hearts and souls into this food and it certainly shows through.

Really not good at all. Food was cold and the smallest 10oz prime rib I've ever had. Totally NOT WORTH the 13.99. Clam chowder was good but cold as well. Would never come back here EVER no idea why others have rated it above a 3

Was looking into getting a barbecue sandwich but was pushed into getting a Steak and cheese. Pretty good but a little more then I had expected. How can you claim to be wheelchair accessible when there are two STEPS to get into the place. Youve been open a few months I give you perhaps a few more.

Eggs benedict were great so were pancakes. Renee (the server) was a joy and very helpful! The price and portions were also superior. My only regret is I forgot to order a slice of pie for later.

Nope. Worst coffee I have had in 20+ years. The food ranged from ok to inedible. Did I mention that the coffee was awful?

This restaurant was so-so. The place was clean and the waitresses were nice enough, although not too attentive. The food was good but not over the top great. I can't remember the name of the plate I ordered but it had hot dogs, bacon/sausage, eggs and toast. It was filling, but really nothing special.
