The quality of the food and the large portion sizes are a good value for this region. I've ordered pork roasts from here as well for holiday meals and they were very good at a reasonable price.

great subs, too bad there hours aren't correct. we site says 4pm, called in for a sub at 2:45 and i was told they were closed. the person on the phone told me they close @ 3. i reminded him it was only 245, he said they were "done for the day". very disappointed in the lack of service. i will take my business else where in the future

Talk about creativity. There are some unique subs on the menu. Great tasting, great prices. Highly recommended

We ended up coming in here wanting some cold cuts after grabbing a nice round bread from Tripoli just across the street. We settled in the turkey. While the quality was good, it was ridiculously overpriced. $9 a pound is what I should be paying for some imported meats, not slices turkey. Their ready made goods looked good, and I remember trying their rice balls back during the Italian faire, which were good (for another review). I'll be staying away from the cold cuts, but will be back for the hot meals.

If you're looking for a great Italian sandwich or meal to take home this is the place. Greg Fratto and his gang have the recipe for a satisfying repast for under $10.00. You'll be bringing your co-workers the next time you come here. He also has cold cuts, soups, cheeses, and catering.

This is a small deli packed with great food. Positively delicious. Try the subs, soups or salads, you won't be dissapointed. I try to stop here whenever I'm in the area.

I wanted to like this place as I heard it was comparable to Borelli's Market in Methuen. I couldn't disagree more. Borelli's is outstanding, this place was definitely not. I'm not sure, but I think someone said they were owned by the same people. That would surprise me. We walked in just after 11am on a weekday. We both had different soups...italian wedding and sausage & potato. They were just ok. We ordered a "rocky balboa" steak bomb and a chicken parm sandwich. The chicken was cold. The steak bomb was hot but it was not tasty. There were only 2 of us in the place and they had the news on the tv. We were both watching the broadcast when they turned up the music to the jukebox and muted the tv! In fairness to the person who did it he did ask us after a couple of minutes if we were watching the tv, he offered to turn it back up. I would tell you if you want a delicious italian deli type sandwich/meal, skip this place and make the drive over to Borelli's.

Absolutely freaking fantastic!! I left here in the most phenomenal food coma. Split the grilled chicken wrap with my oldest (the greek dessing is out of this world). Both the chicken escarole sou and the sausage soup were GREAT. Huge chunks of veggies, homemade sausage and real chcken (not that pre-fab. cubed crap). The squirt had the linguini w/ sauce...sauce that was outrageously awesome. And bread, not that there was anything special about it, but they must have given us a half a loaf! The guy who took our order was nice...and very patient. Even the people eating there were incredibly nice. Not the most classy joint, but who really cares when the food is this good. My only complaint is the parking situation, but there is a parking lot at the begining of the block that you an take advantage of (not a long walk at all). Overall awesome experience, will def. Be back!

Holy deliciousness!!!! I stumbled upon this place one day walking through downtown Lawrence w/my co workers to grab lunch. After walking by, I had to wipe the drool from my chin that resulted from smelling the amazing aromas of yummy italian goodness that drifted all the way up the street. So, after passing this place several times, I finally decided to give it a go. Boy am I glad I did! This is your typical little italian deli. It's a relatively small place but with a GINORMOUS menu to choose from. In the mood for a good home made italian dinner?? check! A coldcut sub?? check! Or even a salad?? check!! They even sell those "italian rice balls" which I have never had, but looked really good! I did notice a small selection of imported italian pastas...and the deli appeared to have a very large selection of both italian and traditional lunch meats. I decided on the lasagna. Loaded with cheese and the sauce was really good. Not too sweet, not too spicy.....but just right. You can get pretty much any italian specialty you desire, and expect to go in and feel overwhelmed at the choices you have in front of you. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Not many people realize just how many great little restaurants there are in the downtown Lawrence area. This place is not to be missed!!!

North End Deli catered my backyard party and everything arrived on time and it was some of the most delicious food I ever had. Everyone loved the sandwiches, hot entrees and salad. The chicken was so tender. I found this place on line and chose it by the reviews and we were not disappointed. They included lots of extras. I would use them again without hesitation.

One of the few places you can still get "Old School" italian food like stuffed artichoke, tripe, etc...Don't quote me but I believe there sausages are homemade. They are really good and a staple during the Feast around Labor Day. Came on a Saturday to get a stuffed artichoke, tripe and eggplant parm. The weekend menu is tremendous as they have pork cutlets, escarole soup, etc. Sandwiches and the different combos also look amazing and creative. Bread is also fantastic. Nice folks working in the back which is not a norm nowadays. Nice family owned place that I'll be frequenting often. I only wish they would open until maybe 7pm on some nights so I can go and grab a sub or nice dinner there.

I am so glad this place is in Lawrence. It is like the North End has invaded. The portions are ample and the flavors are not lacking, unlike most sub/ sandwich shops which make up for poor ingredients by offering lots of them. The Godfather sub is amazing!

Once I got my first salad here I was hooked. Nice employees and quick. I walk here during break and I do wish they had air conditioning. It gets pretty warm in there which makes me worry about food borne illnesses sometimes but their products look and taste great.

Totally awesome old school Italian lunch joint. What all the prior reviewers said is true, but I've found their rolls to be fresh and flakey. I usually get roast beef. It's always fresh and rare and tasty and generous. My coworker gets lasagna and usually can't finish it. Their sausage is made in house. You definitely get your money's worth. Often I end up eating the 2nd half of my grinder for dinner.

I think it was my mistake... being summer I ordered a salad. Mind you, its 7 dollars for a salad without any chicken etc. For a salad and a coke it was 10.00 with tax. Yikes for a quick lunch in a plastic container. Good part, wonderful fresh lettuce, nice crisp thick slice of bacon. Just couldn't get over the cost for a container with 90 percent lettuce. Might try again, definitely not for a salad in the summer though.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
