1 of 5 stars On a dark rainy December afternoon one member of our party on crutches arrived 15 minutes before official opening time. " Sorry, the bar is not set up yet. Come back in 15 minutes..." Two doors down the Seaside Cafe was more than happy to accommodate our dinner party of 8 persons. Last year our group arrived at another restaurant up the street called Embargo. The manager there said " we don't really open for another half hour but you are welcome to come in and have a drink while our kitchen gets ready for the dinner service." Some places know how to treat people and do business, others are just clueless...

Finally. ...great Mexican food in Hyannis! Loved the food here...definitely get the tableside guacamole. Margaritas were good, atmosphere was awesome, server great, and the manager came by to genuinely ask us how everything was, including service etc...well done. Highly recommend this place for great Mexican food!

Delicious food, friendly atmosphere ... when a restaurant is crowded in the off-season, you know it's good. We received our food in a reasonable amount of time, and the braised ribs were amazing!

Best Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to NO CLUE WHY THERE ARE ONLY 3 STARS! The Guac was made table side to our liking and was amazing. We all had margaritas to start which were great and fairly priced too. For our meals we all had burritos (I had the pulled pork) and the rest of her Chicken and both were 10/10 (the tortilla was almost like a sweet-bread type which gave an awesome flavor profile. Most of all, wasn't your average Mexican meal where everything is covered in Salt and sauce. I went on vacation and think it would be worth the 2 hour drive for another burrito (or 7)!! Would definitely recommend.

Went with the wife last week. Great food (a bit pricey) and a great atmosphere. Super sexy waitress earns the five star rating!!

Dinner was fabulous! Margaritas were delicious! We ordered to guacamole, which is prepared fresh at the table. It is a must! 2 people in our party ordered burritos, one said the only complaint was it had a bit too much cheese. 2 other people ordered the Taco Tuesday special, scallop tacos (2 for $7) they were the best tacos ever. Only complaint was she should have ordered more! We would definitely go back again

This is some of the worst Mexican food we've had. The only people that would like it would be people who don't know what good Mexican food really is. The chips were not even good. Would not go back. Sam Diego or Acupulco is much better.

Haven't been to the tree for a long time so was very happy to see they have "recently" redone it and its great! Fun sitting under the old Beach Tree and have drinks. Only had some apps but they were good, (fish tacos).

We were not impressed...the menu was quite overpriced, and confusing. Was it Mexican? Polynesian? (lava bowls) Italian? (polenta bites)??? The food tasted freshly made, but again, they are confused...the burritos were made like a pannini. The very bland polenta bites were tasteless fried cubes of polenta, ugh, no one in our party liked them at all. The fajitas were served in a a burning hot black lava bowl? The fajitas were tasty, but someone in our party got burned from the large, 8 inch high lava bowl (which is a lawsuit waiting to happen) Everything was a la carte, meaning rice and beans to go with the burrito was an extra $8.00. Margaritas were $15.00 each, and were bland and watery tasting. Dinner for 4 with 4 drinks and one appetizer was $180.00 (I have included our tip at 20%) The waitress was very good.

Fun, excellent atmosphere. GREAT margaritas. Poor wine selection, beer and tequila should be your choices unless you have substandard taste in wine. Taco Tuesday is a great way to sample many of the inventive versions Beech Tree serves. The table-side guacamole will delight your taste buds. It's fun too

I used to love this place now it's so-so. Good for drinks especially the outside bar. The service is horrendous though. Food-wise, I stick with the burritos and have tried both the chicken and vegetable, they are both decent. Nothing blows you away though... Come and sit on the patio, it's good for people watching and the back bar is a good hang out spot as well.

we popped in here on a Saturday afternoon and although the seats outside were full, we decided to sit at the bar. it is clean and friendly. Dan our bartender was accommodating and engaging even tho they were super super busy bc they were short staffed. we had time and we were not in a rush or in bad moods so all was good. we ordered margaritas that were great and shared the nachos. the nachos are my favorite here. gracious portion of refried beans and other fresh ingredients/vegetables made them delicious. they were served quickly and they were hot. the staff is friendly and the place is fun. prices decent - not intended to gouge the tourist. I highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I was just there a few day ago..., waitress were nice, but so clueless of there food and menus. I ordered a pina colada, but apparently I forget my Id, so made it a virgin one... When the bill came out, it was ridiculous how they charge 10 bucks for a drink that came out of a kid cup... The bartender came over to explain even though it was a virgin drink they had to charge that much because it cost a lot to put all the ingredient together.. bologny!!!! Been to other places And was never charge that much! My boyfriend meal came out and he couldnt eat his meal... No so authentic... So plain! The only thing that we were please with was the side bar guacamole... Don't break your bank pockets for this... Expensive, bartender was rude!

This review is for their outdoor area. I would actually give this place 2 stars, but the extra star is for the atmosphere. It is a beautiful place and the beech tree, which has been there before the Civil War, is quite something. Besides that, the beer is very overpriced and it wasn't even cold. The food is average, but also quite overpriced. Perhaps it was just that particular day, but the service was very poor.

Loved this place, lots of people waiting to get in on fri night but they had plenty of wait staff. Our waitress Brie was fabulous, some of the other reviews said the ribs were good so I ordered them, excellent, table side gloucalome was somewhat of a rip, 12.00, just order the medium side for $4.00, my lp had the shrimp with angel hair $18.00. Best thing is to walk down the alley way to the 1768 Beechtree and have a g&d rink under the tree so cool, outside tv's, fireplace, cigar area, tapas, great show of lights when dark comes. This is a must go place, never knew about it,and believe me I have been coming to this area all my life.

Great location and atmosphere. You'll forget where you are it's so isolated from the strip. Good drinks but a little pricey. Bar and wait staff were great, bouncers a little over zealous. Overall recommended for the experience.

Uggghhhhh this place! Came with the family and it was just a hot mess. The food itself was good and our waitress was really trying her best to work around some pretty significant problems. First, the game was on and the speakers were blaring the TV so loudly we couldn't hear ourselves talking. When we came in and sat at our table we didn't even realize there were TVs on in the other part of the restaurant - there are stairs separating the two spaces. It is really unpleasant to listen to announcers and commercials when there isn't even a TV to watch! We asked them to turn it down and were informed they had one sound system for the entire complex - including a huge outdoor bar off the street. It was nice and cozy on the floor with the TVs and very cold, drafty and loud where we sat. Another disadvantage of our location was the tableside guac prep - didn't happen. Also, seriously, $13 for a very shallow bowl of guac?! That is outrageous. It was more than our entrees! The menu had some tasty dishes, and we did enjoy our food, but our waitress seemed like she'd never dealt with a table with kids before, there was no changing table in the bathroom, and the service was slow. Seems like a great place to come if you can cozy up in a booth by the big fireplace and watch a game during the Cape's off-season. Not a great place for families, though.

Save your money!!!!!!! Bland, tasteless "Mexican" food. The owner needs to wake up and stop smoking cigars at the cigar place next door and make some changes. Food and drinks are way over priced for not even good food. Sam Diego's is probably better than this place... Go to Dragon Lite across the street better drinks and way better service. I've gotten the pulled pork burrito before, they press the dry burrito on what seems to be a panini press and is filled with tasteless 'confetti' rice and cheese. I've never not liked a burrito but this was disgusting. I've gone for drinks a few times last summer on a Saturday night.. ordered 4 Coors lite, and 2 shots.. $70. Really?!?!?!? I told the bartender with the mole on his face, I just want 'well tequila' ... Gave me premium... Clearly doesn't know a thing about bartending which makes me wonder why he'd be qualified to be a bartender. (Thats bartending 101). Service is ok I don't understand why they check ID's in the afternoon who do they think they are? I won't even get into the time a bartender at the outdoor bar was drunk and yelling at me ... I ordered two drinks and she sat there, starred at me and said why what's your problem? I think she was drunk , the nice part was is the man bartender (I forget his name) made her leave, fired her on spot (I guess she had been doing it before because he said you keep talking back to customers) and he gave us a couple free drinks.

BOGO tacos on Tuesday! Of which I have tried four types which were all good (ahi, shrimp, pulled pork and chicken). Also the burger could use more kick but was extremely tasty! I moved from the area but will always stop back in for some of the great margaritas and food. Not to mention the great atmosphere out back under the Beech tree.

We had the mojicate ....all fresh veggies..not as spicy as in Cali..but still good service was a little slow....both steak and chicken cooked very well..would recommend for mex. On the Cape!!

This highly anticipated re-do of a great location doesn't meet expectations. The beech tree in the back is a must see. Its great the way they have protected the tree with the bar around it. The patio is like having cocktails in your backyard in the summer. Great koi pond, outside fireplace, comfy seating. It is a great place to meet friends and cocktail. Inside, the new owners did an amazing job with the decor and design. The tables are unique and the hammered metal on the bar top just looks awesome. There is another great little couch seating are in the back next to a fireplace also. You definitely get an "western" vibe. The patio is great in the summer, with high tops right next to the sidewalk. The problem here is the food. It is so bad. It is almost like frozen entrees just heated up. The guacamole is prepared fresh next to your table. Great idea except both times I have ordered it, they didn't get to our table until after our dinners were served. The service the first time was really bad and the entire patio was complaining. The manager did her best to placate everyone but it was overwhelming I am sure. It seems to be a running theme for Cape Cod restaurants in the summer. Either lack of skilled help or lack of proper training. It is such a shame because its such a cool place but I'd never eat there again. But worth it to see the tree out back, just stick with the margaritas.

We have been anticipating the opening of the Beech Tree Cantina, and really hoping that it would live up to the hype. Happy to say it does! They did a nice job with the decor, the bar has about twenty seats, so big but not too big. There is a combination of booths and tables throughout the restaurant, very pretty. I had the house margarita it was really good, nice and fresh made with a good house tequila and fresh limes and agave. An extensive selection of good tequila's with a staff that actually knows the difference between a silver, reposado or an anejo. The chips and salsa were fresh and spicy, we split an appetizer and got one each of the Street Style Tacos to share for dinner. They were all really good but the Ahi Tuna and the barbeque pulled pork were exceptional. The staff is friendly and professional, Carilyn and Ryan were the bartenders and very helpful with the tequila selection and dinner menu. As you walk in they have a very cool bearded dragon lizard named Lucky, a nice touch. Just what Hyannis needed a good Mexican restaurant!

The cape is NOT known for good mexican; this is why they get a four. This place offers huge portions (seriously ask your server). There are creative meals here, and they edge on real mexican (not overly spiced etc). they have meals in clay pots (steaming hot!). The seasoning and rendering of the meals are almost dead on. I highly recommend this place for mexican food (your only option, really). They have a nice inclusion of local flair in some of their dishes (lobster, etc). Good bar (wicked busy, a bit overwhelming, and it seems to be a construction issue).... but its big, offers numerous drinks and other options. cheers to good mexican on cape cod.

Tuesday September 24, 2013 was our Friends 49th Birthday. We had a Day Planned of Pampering! We started off with a Spa Day and ended with Drinks and Appetizers at the Beech Tree. What an Amazing way to end a Day of Complete Relaxation! We arrived and sat at the Bar and the Bartender was right there to take our Drink order. We asked about Sangria and her response was that she could make us whatever we liked and she did. The Sangria was wonderful. We wanted to order appetizers and asked for her opinion on what was best. She made suggestions, answered questions and we chose the chicken Quesadilla and Boneless Wings along with a Basket of Warm Chips with Salsa. I would definitely recommend the Beech Tree to everyone and I Have!!!

I went here yesterday with my brother and his gf, who used to go here regularly. They raved about the nachos and I wanted to see the tree. The tree bar was awesome and looked like a great spot to hang out. However, the menu is different from the cantina and we wanted to get a beer and share the nachos. We opted to sit at a high top in the front, next to the sidewalk. We were seated right away and literally within a minute of being seated, our waiter gave us water and asked us if we wanted an appetizer. We ordered the nachos, but after he left, we thought it was strange he didn't ask if we wanted drinks... The server at the tables next to us was super nice and it was only because of her that we saw all the other tables had complimentary chips and salsa... I understand we ordered an app, but if everyone else has chips and salsa, then I'd like some too... isn't' that one of the best parts of a mexican restaurant?!? We had to flag our waiter down and ask to order drinks and ask for the chips... The nachos came out before the drinks did. I had never been here, but my bro and his gf said the portion was decreased tremendously and was totally different..... not worth $12. We didn't even get appetizer plates which can be weird when sharing... I got bottled beer (perk: they have corona light), but my brothers girlfriend got a mojito that was $10, in a tiny glass and FULL of ice. Total rip off. Overall, it was a bad expereience. I'd maybe try the tree bar next time, but was so turned off that I'd probably stay away completely.

Went there on Sunday with family and honestly it was such a great day to be sitting outside for a nice lunch. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. They are well known for their guacamole and someone actually comes over to mix it up right at your table so you can choose what ingredients you want more/less of which was great for us because we like it spicy!! The Cantina burger was really good and so were their buffalo chicken tenders. The chicken & meat version of a fajita is huge! Very nice setting....I would definitely go back.

I happened to stop by here for lunch one day. They have a great patio overlooking Main Street which is awesome for hanging out and having some drinks and relaxing. I got the Salmon special for the day which was Crust Salmon with Yellow Rice and Arugula Salad. Let's just say I killed every bit of it. It was light, cooked just enough so that the Salmon was still moist and the yellow rice was a great compliment to the fish. I would definitely come back to try the other dishes on the menu.

Amazing fresh Mexican food. Definitely the best cape cod has to offer. They have amazing margaritas and make your guacamole right at the table.

The food here is just not good. Ordered table side guacamole that was completely underwelming. Very bland with huge chunks of unmashed avocado. Salsa is also bland and the chips have a funny seasoning on them that makes me think of Cool Ranch Doritos. Also ordered street tacos. They were OK but can't really say much else. Ordered house margaritas with salt. They came without salt. Waiter took them back and put in new glasses. Not sure if the glass was dipped in salt/sugar mix. The rim was oddly salty and sweet at same time. The margarita itself was horrible if you actually like a real margarita. Mostly filled with a sweet limeade mix and barely any tequila taste!!! There was more ice than tequila!!!! The manager was a sweet yet ditsy woman who was eager to please. The waiter was OK. Not exactly a friendly guy but what can you expect on a Sunday night after a blizzard. Had to ask another waitstaff for more salsa bc he was not around!! I would not go back! if you are looking for good food on Main St go to Pizza Barbone!! Food is fabulous!!!

The atmosphere was great & we were excited by the menu. Sadly, it went down hill quickly. We got our drinks quickly. There was only one other party on the patio. It took 30 minutes just to get tacos. We were informed our Nachos were burned, so we had to wait another 15 mins. Two orders of tacos were missing the crema sauce. We had to ask for plates, silverware and napkins. It was odd the seafood tacos had soggy lettuce instead of cabbage. The margaritas and cheese quesadillas with steak where the best items.

So, my friends and I stopped by here to visit a friend who worked behind the bar...somewhere. I say "somewhere", because we were not allowed in past the bouncer. I can't speak for the food here. I can say that I've been here before, in my youth, and thought that the crowd and the nice tree provided a fun atmosphere. I can also say that I am perplexed and disappointed by the policy by which they decide to let people in. When we arrived, there was a ragtag line of people waiting to get in. The bar itself was less than packed. As we waited, friends of the bouncer kept arriving, striding to the front of the line, and allowed in with bear hugs and laughter. The thing that confuses me is that CLEARLY there was no fire code issue if they were letting 15 people in ahead of me. Also, it wasn't even as though the people getting in seemed different or better looking or anything than the people in line. In any event, the whole thing was confusing and disappointing. Now, I mean, I get it. I know that there will always be people who know the owner or who are "regulars" or whatnot. But, the sheer quantity of these type people who seemed to cut the line was ridic. I'd like to say this place is nice, because everything else about it seemed nice. However, if the owners continue to portray this false sense of entitlement over their patrons, I don't see the point in coming back. Your customers should not feel insulted. Bad form, Beech Tree.

Not good is about all I can say about this place. The building itself was nice..there I said at least one good thing, now on to the rest.... First off, we ordered chips and salsa for $2.00 when most mexican places bring it for free. They arrived and the salsa was great, but the chips were 'dusted' with some super spicy powder and that ruined the whole idea of actually tasting the salsa. It wasn't even listed on the menu that they dusted their chips with this stuff. 'Dusted' is what the server called it. Then there was the wait. We ordered and our food must have taken 25-30 minutes to show up at the table. When it did arrive, my spouse's tostadas were incredibly bland, but they had that incredibly spicy 'dusting' of powder all over the shells. Just terrible. My burrito came out just fine, but it was really like a pressed wrap served with fries which were again 'dusted'..yikes. Burritos should come with beans and rice especially when the cost is in the teens. The Beechtree just loves to dust and dust and dust with spice instead of building flavor into their dishes. For my daughter we got the kid's meal..which cost no less then $9 w/cup of juice included. $9 dollars for a kids meal. It was a very small cheese quesadilla for $9.. , and there turned out to be almost no cheese inside for $9. It was two tortillas pressed together with so little cheese that when we took the two pieces apart , there was no stretching..just two very small pieces of fried bread with two or three strands to stick it together..for $9!. The margarita my spouse had was only ok, and nothing special. Finally when we were ready to leave, I had to send my family outside, because after that huge long wait for the food my ver patient 3 year old was all done. I had to wait for the bill. Then once I paid I waited again forever for them to return my card. I did leave a tip because I feel guilty otherwise, but it wasn't exactly 15-20%..more like 13% (and I never ever tip that low) and that server is lucky to have had someone like me who knows what restaurant work is like. Most of the problem here is the bad chef. Four to six ingredients is all it takes bro..in the right proportions to build that flavor! Don't dowse everything with a super spicy 'dusting' to overwhelm tastebuds to cover up the other super bland stuff! That doesn't work!..this guy needs cooking school to relearn how to build flavor into dishes. Just no skill. Slowness can be addressed by management. The best thing about this place was leaving. Once I finally got out of there, I was so glad to be gone.

My DW and I decided to have a light early bite at the recently opened Beech Tree Cantina, which bills itself as Cape Cod's upscale authentic Mexican restaurant. I was hopinfg to finally find a great mole sauce here on the Cape, and was disappointed that nothing on the menu has a mole sauce. One enters through a side door into a smaller dining room,to the right and up a few stairs is a much larger, and more active, lounge and bar, with very classy copper topped hi-top tables and booths that complement the natural stone bar. The renevation is first class, with natural and pickled woods, stone work, and tile all in pleasing hues of earthy colors. The menu has the usual "street style" tacos, burritos, and enchiladas but they eschew the typical spicy ground beef in favor of skirt steak, chicken, pulled pork, seared ahi tuna, fried cod, or shrimp as options. It's not cheap. Their version of an authentic fajita, called Molcajetes, but they will set you back $20 for one, or $28 for two people. The appetizer menu is quite extensive, and I ordered the house ceviche ($12.50) and sauteed littlenecks in a lime broth with chorizo sausage ($12). DW had a couple of soft tacos and rice. Our waiter greeted us quickly, and proudly proclaimed that they make their own chips and salsa, and the the guacamole is made tableside for $12. ( a trend these days that I'm none too fond of as it has trnsformed an inexpensive peasant food into a high end app. This is where things got weird. After or drinks arrived, I asked what the market price was on the ceviche and what was the 'local fish' as stated on the menu. Our waiter didn't know the answer to either question. Ok I thought, they've only been open for three weeks. Time passed and no house made chips and salsa. Before our food arrived I asked if the ceviche (scallops and shrimp btw) came with chips. "No, " was his reply. I said , are you going to bring us chips and salsa? He said, "You need to order them." I thought that strange as I've been in Mexican restaurants from Mexico to Canada and from coast to coast in the US and I've never seen a place charge for chips and salsa. Ok, I say, bring us an order. Our meal arrives and he he proudly proclaims, I put some chips on the ceviche for you. I scratch my head as I look at the big basket of chips on the table that we had just ordered. I ask him to box up the chip and salsa order to take home and he obliges. The ceviche looked like a very small order but actually, was very sufficient for an appetizer serving. The flavors and freshness were top notch. I've always been perplexed why more Cape Cod places don't offer this dish. My wife's tacos were okay, but honestly, no better than what you can get at Burrito Bistro for 1/3 the price. The clams were a genous portion of 8-10 clams in a flavorful broth sauteed with chorizo and finished with cilantro tequila lime butter, and a bit of heat. It's served with two pieces of grilled garlicky toast to sop up the yummy broth. Our waiter returns to ask how we liked our food and I asked about the chorizo which wasn't present in my dish. He says, "Oh, Let me check the menu". He returns and says that they'll bring me a corrected dish in a few minutes. In about 15 minutes he brings me another dish of clams with the chorizo and the dish has transformed from pretty good to quite excellent. Totally sated after having 20 or so clams, I head to the men's room as the place is starting to fill up. As I return to my table I can't help but notice that every single table has chips and salsa! I settle the $37 tab (no charge for the "ordered" chips and salsa), give a 20% tip, grab my to-go bag of chips and salsa, but can't help feeling that the bag in my hand is akin to asking a waiter to box up the bread basket and butter to take home! All-in-all, putting the service and kitchen errors aside which I'll chaulk up to them being new, I'd say this is a welcome addition to the Hyannis dining scene.

Stopped in before a show at the Melody Tent. Wonderful meal! The table side guac is as good as it gets. The drinks were terrific and our meals were prepared perfectly. Matt, the host is friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be stopping in again.

Been in here twice this summer and it was solid both times. We were able to get seated at high tops near the bar, which is what we wanted. Service was good, although our servers were a bit ditzy. Margarita's were hearty, table side guac was the bomb, and this piping hot pot creation with seafood and a spicy sauce was really good. Street tacos and burritos were good too. Would definitly go back for the food, not crazy about the late night rif raff that showed up after the Melody Tent spilled out, but oh well.

Looks good, but but looks can be deceiving. Ordered a round of drinks - 3 beers, and a mojioto & a margarita. Took no exaggeration 20 minutes! The margarita glass was huge and this place is Latin so expectations were high. Drinks =fail! The mojioto and margarita tasted like lime flavored bitter water, horrible to the point where we could not finish them. We sat outside on the deck where a woman at the table over from us was smoking, seriously I know we are sitting outside but people are eating and we are still in the restaurant. Not one staffer said a word. If I was eating I for sure would have. While there we also saw servers arguing with whom I am guessing was the manager in front of guests on the way to the kitchen, seriously act professionally and wait till your in the kitchen to duke it out. Service = fail, drinks = fail, rude smoking patrons = fail. Why even bother to try to go back and try the food. No wonder this attractive looking place with an outdoor patio was empty on a Saturday night.

Great location, friendly bartenders. However, drunk worker (guy with thick black rimmed glasses the bartenders said was Adam) and over-zealous door guys can ruin the atmosphere fairly quickly.

I didn't eat here, but I came here at night to check out the bar scene. It was quite crowded and full of young people. The bar is outdoors, and there's a beautiful tree (I guess it was a beech tree) in the middle. Definitely stop by for a drink when you are looking to go out in Cape Cod.

I really enjoyed this place. My group and I sat at the bar and had chips/salsa/guacamole and margaritas. They guacamole was great and there was plenty of it. Part of the reason, I may have liked this place so much was because my group and I had just came from a bad experience at another Mexican restaruant called Gringos, which was two doors down. Regardless, this is a good place for drinks and chips, although I can't speak for the actual food.

Great Mexican Food. Table side guacamole was exceptionally good. The menu is a definitely a twist on the regular mexican restaurants, but it worked really well. Got the impression that they are still working through a few kinks on the service side. There were a lot of empty tables, but we still had to wait. Would definitely go again.

Outside bar area is lovely and comfortable on a summer's night, and the tableside guac is great. However my friend's margarita was made with whisky(cheerfully replaced upon complaint) and my two margaritas were completely inconsistent in taste and amount of tequila. I ate dinner here a month ago indoors where the tacos were minuscule but black bean soup was tasty.

Got to love the Beech Tree. Nice outdoor bar nestled under a giant tree, hence the name. They have a small cigar shop just outside the tree and a sitting area where you can sit and puff your newly bought cigar. Their food is delicious, drinks are good. They introduced "Fish Bowls" this year which they stated are good for 2 people, but they are actually relatively small compared to "Fish Bowls" at other places. I would skip these and go for some other drinks.

Last time we were here back in the first week of July it was bad. They gave us a $25 gift card for a future visit. We decided to use our gift card yesterday and found things have gotten worse. There was actually a big red closed sign on the front door posted there by the city licensing board.

Can we just discuss how freaking adorable this outdoor bar is? Yeah... let's do that. So me and my date are taking a stroll along Main Street after a lovely dinner with no agenda, but oh what's that I see? Twinkle lights lining the way and a chalkboard sign saying Tree Bar... this way.... of course you're going to intrigue me! So we walk that way only to discover an outdoor bar with seating built around a gigantic majestic tree. Yes... the drinks are overpriced and served in plastic, but the setting is absolutely too fantastic to pass up. You must go here for an after dinner drink.

I love tacos. I mean, I REALLY love tacos. Good tacos. The tacos at Beech Tree were so close and yet so far away. I ordered the Mahi Tuna and the Steak tacos while my husband tried the Scallop and Lobster tacos. All four tacos were ample and had amazing flavor, but the way Beech Tree Cantina dumps a bunch of cold tasteless cheese on the tacos is unfortunate (melted cheese goes a long way) and the presentation plates (while aesthetically pleasing) were just way too small to consume our food without making a huge mess. We both ended up wearing just about as much as the tacos as we were able to eat, especially since the outside tables have holes in them. Juice flowed straight from the taco onto my dress and my husband's pants, despite the use of napkins. We also ordered the quesadilla - very good, and my toddler went to town on the corn on the cob. The service was very friendly.

Beech tree-what an awesome experience it was to dine under that big beautiful tree. It didnt even feel like we were on main st in hyannis, it felt more like a forest. You would never know this little gem is there just walking by. A local told us to check the place out for drink. We decided to dine there. I had a burrito and my husband had tacos. His tacos were delicious, but my burrito was nothing to rave about. The salsa and chips were good. The chips hd some seasoning on them. I was not impressed with their guacamole. The reviews suggested that it was out of this world. In my opinion, it had a strange zesty lemony taste that ive never had in guacamole before, almost like they made it ahead of time and the acidity ate away at the avocado. We kept adding salt and hot sauce to it and that didnt help either. Maybe they were having an off day, but i was pretty disappointed. Service was a little on the slow side. I would return for the view but not for the food

My husband and I stopped in for a drink. We didn't eat, but the atmosphere is really cool and I hope to come back at night at some point to see it lit up with the lights and TVs. This place is really unique, and you definitely don't feel like you are at the cape while you are here. We got the Coconut mojito which was really good, and our waitress was really friendly. I'd like to come back to try the food!

Get: coronarita and nachos with pulled pork. If you sit outside the sushi and pizza are good as well. I think the nightlife here is more notable than the food. So much fun on Fridays and Saturdays when there is a DJ or band. Negatives: expensive.

This restaurant has such potential. The physical location and decor were great and the food was superb. However, the service left quite a bit to b e desired. We arrived early in the evening (around 6:00 pm). We were seated quickly, given menus and left for what seemed like a long time. Several servers passed by us with no eye contact. Finally the bar tender saw we were looking around for help and he came and took our drink orders. When the drinks arrived, still no server, so he took our meal order. Finally our sever came over and introduced himself and said he would be "taking care of us". Not exactly. A different young man brought our meal. This would not have been so bad, but the place was almost empty and wait staff was wandering around flipping towels, not attending to customers. I hope the management gets this under control as I said, the food was great.

Wanted to grab some apps on July 4 around 2:00pm; lots of tables open inside and out and had been here many times before. However, we were seated and waited fifteen minutes and no server came to the table despite there being a plethora of them around the restaurant and hostess station. I went up to ask for a server and was told he or she'd be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes and no service and we got up and left. A little disappointing for frequent visitors especially with a large party in tow.

Hands-down my favorite spot in Hyannis for an after work drink! The margaritas, the guacamole and the atmosphere...amazing! They have a wonderful variety of margaritas--The Coconut Margarita is my fav. I didn't even like guacamole before I had it at the Beech Tree and now I'm hooked! They make is right at your table and you choose the ingredients--like lime, cilantro, jalapenos, etc. The atmosphere is great, too! This time of year you can sit outside under an enormous Beech Tree, (hence, the name) that acts as a giant canopy. Beautiful! I highly recommend the Beech Tree...try for yourself!

Authentic Mexican inside, Cape casual outside in season. The big beech at the outdoor cafe is the draw and is worth visiting on its own (legend has it was planted around the Revolution). Friendly service, decent food and priced right. Good tequila selection as well should be expected.

I do love having a drink under this tree. It's just a blast. I bring the kids here for tacos. The nachos are good (though they forgot to put the beans in ours, they made up for it by bringing us a side of beans). It's not a foodie place. It's just a bar down a pedestrian alley under a huge tree with bar food.

Terrible service. Went out for my friends birthday, we waited at the bar for 15 minutes before having our order taken and when we did order drinks, we're told by the bartender "that's the last thing I wanna make right now"! No sense of customer service. That bartender walked away and did not make our drinks so we waited another 20 minutes until finally someone took care of us. I will not be going back and I suggest you don't. Also prices are very high which is absurd for the terrible service you receive.

Worth a visit. Very good food. Great service. Awesome margaritas! We were there in time for their specials - 1/2 price appetizers. Couple that with the special margarita of the week and you can have a great time at a reasonable cost. The special margarita was Guava - it was very good. The price was right at $5. Beech Tree Cantina is our new favorite restaurant in Hyannis. We will be back.

I have only come here for drinks and it's a good time. The huge tree is awesome and really cool. They have live music, at least the time we went, the guy was a one guy band and he was really good playing a variety of music for all crowds. The place is very much a bar, the bar tops are sticky and it just looks like a bar/club place. It's a good time to go to after you eat somewhere else nice. Although I did not eat here so I can't say the food is bad.

Great spot, friendly workers, price is average and the environment is very different. Dinner crowd after 6PM but you can find a spoke on the couch. Bar or around the tree for drinks.

LOVE sitting outdoors under the beech tree with a bunch of outdoor heaters and a nice margarita! This is a great location to hang with friends and enjoy your evening. The food was good as well. My friend and I enjoyed their coconut margaritas (even though they use sour mix which is a margarita no no). My frustration is with the bus boy who took my half full drink while I was in the bathroom. No one asked my friend if we were done, the drinks simply disappeared. Please train your people to ASK before removing anything. On a good note, Alana is the bomb.

Tonight my husband and I decided to stop into the Beechtree for the first time, and I have to say, we were very pleasantly surprised. Firstly the atmosphere was great! There was a nice welcoming feeling the minute we walked through the door, a guy in the back playing a mix of music from reggae to soft rock etc. created a great atmosphere. We ordered some drinks and needed help with the food choices. Emily the bar manager was great and the bar tender Shanai was helpful also. We decided to go with pulled pork tacos and my husband had the Mac and cheese with the added lobster.... WOW, it was amazing!!! Definitely in my top 5! We will be back!

Went to the beachtree with a couple friends for some drinks. While sitting at the bar a cricket landed on my arm and I flicked it off out of reaction, it landed in the lemons/limes tray and rudely the female bartender (blondefemale) asked me if "I was fucking serious" as if I did it on purpose. On top of that she kept the lemons and didn't get new ones, thats gross. You have an outside bar, there is bugs, get over it if I accidentally pushed a bug off me and it landed in the bar area. Horrible customer service in my eyes. You dont cuss at customers. Also replace the stuff the bug landed on! Unsanitary! 8/14/2024

1 star for having a complete disregard for nature. It's called the 'Beech Tree', but the plates and cutlery they use outside are plastic and bleached paper products. I'm going out on limb saying the owners or management doesn't give a shit about nature as a whole, but using compostable products or sucking it up and using real tableware outside would be a great gesture. Other categories that could use improvement: - Host. You don't need a bouncer checking IDs at 3pm. - Bar pricing. Chill out. - The menu is pretty bland.

I've been coming to Cape Cod every summer for years and last night was the first time I've been to the Beech Tree for drinks. Boy have I been missing out! This place has a great outdoor bar area located at the rear of the restaurant and it was jam packed. The drinks were fantastic and the crowd was good. I will definitely be coming back here next time!

This is a review for their outdoor bar area. Been to the bar twice, I liked it both times. The second time it helped that it was the night my beloved Blackhawks beat the Bruins (made for some awkwardness being surrounded by Bruins fans, but they were gracious). Lots of TVs tucked away made it a great place to watch the game. The only disappointment of the night was that they don't serve Mexican food in the bar area! They have a sushi menu! I was really looking forward to some guac while watching the game... somehow sushi and sports just don't mix in my mind. But, the service was friendly and they had some good mixed drinks to make me forget about lack of guac!

Very cool, original bar under a canopy of trees. Definitely the coolest bar in hyannis. I think we arrived around 8 and it was mostly a dinner crowd. We grabbed open seats next to the fire place in the back and ate a tiny table to avoid the 45 minute wait. The beer was good. The vibe was good, and the food was good. Around ten, the place filled with 20 somethings. Apparently, some guy puked on our way out...we aren't too old at 32 and 35..but definitely became a college party before long.

  • Mitchell W.

One star for the waitress, she was awesome. I had a hair in my food, my pulled pork tasted so sweet, like it came from a can, our appetizer was lime overdosed guacamole, which they did not serve/make table side like they advertise, flat diet coke, un-muddled Mojito, and a Manager that acted like she'd never had a complaint and I was looking for a free meal.

This review is solely for the outdoor bar area by the historic tree. I've never eaten inside and probably never will. Literally ever since I was a kid I had hoped to see this place become somewhere to eat again - and I was thrilled with what they have done with the outdoor space. Comfy couches, the bar encircling the tree, the outdoor fireplace... it's ideal. Definitely the place to be on a summer night!! We tried the nachos and they are a bargain for the amount you get! Easily shared by 3 - and we were completely full. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it for the atmosphere. Have a few at Seaside to save some money, then stroll over here. You won't regret it. OH also they have a ton of tv's hidden everywhere to watch the game!! Love it.

This night was a nightmare. The food was decent at best and the tacos especially were overpriced. I went here on a Monday night with 6 other girls (in their 20s). The entire night we were disrespected and insulted by our waitress... who I won't name. She was one of the rudest people I've ever come across, especially for someone who waits on people as a job. Whenever we politely asked for something (which wasn't often) she made it seemed like a hassle and had the guts to ROLL HER EYES and give us an extreme attitude. We literally sat there and watched her walk away from our table rolling her eyes and making rude and uncalled for faces in disgust. If we hadn't already ordered we easily would have walked out. She never even came over to see how we were doing, we had to flag down another employee and ask for refills.. Next, when it came time to get out of there, which couldn't come soon enough, we asked for separate checks as some of us had cash and some had credit cards. At this time she stared at us for a few seconds before unwillingly completing the request, again with an obvious attitude and yet ANOTHER eye roll. We she came back after we paid with receipts and change, she put it down on one side of the table leaving us to figure out how the stack of cash and coins left were divided. Talk about a f***ing b****. ALSO she went right ahead and put on a 20% tip for herself, a tip she CERTAINLY didn't deserve. We honestly wouldn't have tipped with the service we received that night. On our way out, we asked to speak to the manager, who was apologetic but didn't seem to surprised. I highly doubt she'll do anything or say anything to the Satanic waitress we had. NEVER going back again. May have been better with a better waitress/waiter, but the girl we had completely ruined any chance of us returning.

Wonderful concept and layout. Fantastic place to catch the World Cup games. The tree in the middle of the back patio is incredibly unique. The service was sloppy. An overwhelmed manager yelled at my party as we entered. We had to ask for service/menus. The wrong food was brought to our table, though our food was already served. The "street tacos" were hard to eat. I did not send back, but should have in hindsight. Want to love this place, but the cavalier, who cares about the customer, I am here for the summer vibe is a turnoff.

Worst dinner out during the holidays ever. Bad service. Bad food. Terrible drinks. Ordered food we never received. We were charged for food we never received. 3 stars because i tried their TERRIBLE SUSHI their main restaurant gets at least 4 stars but their sushi was disgusting and a waste of money. Table side guac is to die fore tuna shashimi to throw up for. I think the shushi bar was for tourists and as a local i fell into their trap. Do one thing good I would say and you did it was mexican now sushi? ugh.... ohwell good try.

My friends had raved about the guacamole that the server prepares right in front of you-- and yes it was delicious-- but unfortunately it couldn't save the meal. The food here is standard Mexican--enchiladas, burritos, etc. I ordered the bbq pork enchiladas which came with beans and rice. The rice was fluffy and ok, but the bbq pork enchiladas were gross because the pork was mishmash warm/cold and it literally was soaked in some nasty ubiquitous bbq sauce. It was so unappetizing that I yearned for more rice and that has never happened considering that the entree is supposed to be the highlight of the meal and the rest are supposed to be fillers. The service was great especially considering that this place can get packed and I liked the outdoor seating but I probably won't be back for a long time.

I have to say first that this place has the best $9 marguerita on the cape! It tastes fresh and they don't skimp on alcohol. The food in the restaurant is delicious and we've always had great service. We love the nachos. They have stuff piled in layers so every bite is full of yummy! I usually order one of the tacos because I'm so full of nachos. Plus they give you chips and salsa when you sit down. The outdoor bar is a different experience than the indoor restaurant but both serve their purpose and it depends on what you are looking for. Sitting outside by the awesome tree is a perfect outdoor bar scene. The restaurant is next door and separate. The bar menu is limited so don't expect a lot of food in the bar. Overall we love this place and love taking guests there.

Currently sitting at the bar watching the bar tender flirt with wait staff while the bar is 2 rows deep of people waiting for drinks.... I'm a bar tender myself and if the owner of my bar saw me do this I'd be fired immediately. Bar tenders don't make eye contact with any guests to acknowledge that they're there while there working on making the current drinks. A lot of fooling around and not helping customers. Backs turned to guests at all times.....are these girls mentally handicapped?
