Alcapulco's has good, typical Mexican food. I went on a Friday for lunch recently, and my group was seated immediately. It was definitely busy, there wasn't a table unoccupied. As soon as a group left, another was seated, with just enough time to clean the table. They have their own chips and salsa, which are good. The menu is the typical Mexican, burritos, enchiladas, quezadillas, chimi's... And bonus points, they have a vegetarian section to the menu. I had the tres tacos with black beans (no meat), one of my usual entrees when checking out a new Mexican place. If you can't do tacos, there's no hope. The vegetarian black beans were pleasantly spicy, they made the tacos better than average. The staff is wonderful, exceptionally friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. I'll definitely go again.

Acapulco's is defnintely one of my favorite places to go out to dinner. They give you complimentary chips & salsa everytime. The food is awesome, I recommend the enchiladas or the quesadillas. The margaritas are delicious! Very friendly staff! & reasonable prices.

I love this place! We go quite regularly!! The chile con queso is fabulous!! Very friendly staff!

Standard Mexican fare, nothing fantastic, nothing bad. I guess I had high expectations after reading some of the reviews so unless it was really good I was in for a letdown. The margaritas seemed a bit weak for $9 for a large. The food was good but nothing fantastic, just good basic Mexican. If you have a craving for Mexican it will do the trick but if your looking to try a new and different place you can probably skip Acapulco's because it is very similar to many other Mexican places in the area.

I love Tex-Mex, so you'll be hard-pressed to find a place that I don't give a high rating too (unless its really bad). Very tasty food and the prices are decent. You get warm chips & salsa as soon as you get seated, and overall the service is very speedy. A huge thumbs up to the enchiladas & chimichangas, and all the food comes with tons of stuff on the side. You WILL leave wishing that you had worn sweatpants...in a good (great?) way. I also love how the whole staff calls you 'amigo' and 'amiga.' (Totally cheesy, but I like it.)

the staff at acapulcos is very friendly and attentive. they pepper their sentences with basic spanish like "bienvenidos!" and "how's your food my amigo?" the complimentary chips and salsa are fresh and delicious. my margarita tasted like mix but was surprisingly strong. my expectations were pretty high at this point, and instead of going with a "safe" taco salad, i decided on a combo nogales (for about $13, pick two from a choice of taco, burrito, enchilada, tostada, and tamale). forget about authenticity, my food was just not good. i chose a beef taco and pork tamale. the tamale was smothered in sauce (it was hard to find much on the menu that didn't come covered in some sort of sauce) and the taco came in a hard shell. i don't know any supposedly authentic mexican restaurant that serves a taco in a hard shell, do you? this was the type of food i could make with one of those ortega taco kits in the "ethnic food" section at stop & shop. even worse, the taco shell was soggy by the time i got to it, and completely broke apart. the meat in both my boyfriend's and my entree was chewy...and just gross. the sides of refried beans and rice were bland. everything we ordered, including the appetizers came piled high with a side of iceberg and tomato...it seemed like they were justifying their prices by presenting a full-looking plate. worse than being unauthentic, the food was just lackluster and type of stuff that leaves you feeling full and sluggish afterward.

Why is the parking lot full if there are only 4 other groups there? my biggest complaint was that i wanted to try a variety of things - chili relleno, enchilada...but for these basic things they didn't list a description of what the item was. Yes I understand these are basic mexican items but I wanted to know the exact difference and i just couldn't get it off the menu. I ended up with the enchiladas jalisco since it had a variety of sauces and fillings. It was pretty good but the margaritas weren't as good as Viva in Wayland. The building is run down and the menu isn't always expilict about what you are ordering . It's good enough it you have a coupon.

Good food, big portions, moderately priced, nice staff, great guac, boozy margaritas, and warm homemade chips and salsa. Need I say more?

I agree with the poster who said that people who are reviewing this place tend to overestimate it. I've been to both the Framingham and Norwood locations and they are both fine. The food is good, and I actually enjoy their salsa (not much of a chunky fan, myself -- and it tastes good!). They always give me complementary chips and salsa, and they always check up on my friends and me. Oh, and their drinks are great, too...it's a good location to catch up with friends or wind down with colleagues. You might want to call ahead, though, for larger parties. I've seen a group of 10 people walk in the door and the employees don't seem to know what to do when that happens. But I think the proper etiquette for any large parties, at any restaurant, would be to call ahead, no? When I go to the Framingham location, I'm usually picking up a quick lunch for work. It's always ready "in five minutes," sometimes 10 at the busiest times. So really, all I have to do is walk out the door and drive over, and it's ready by the time I get there. And one of the hosts, Fernando, is very friendly and doesn't mind you practicing your Spanish with him. : ) Actually, they're all quite friendly over there. So the food isn't the best I've EVER had, being that I've actually lived in Mexico, but it's certainly better than "decent," and I really like the folks that run the place.

Alcupulcos has good Mexican food. Nothing is overly gourmet here, just very good Mexican food. The combos are quite good, and the fajitas are well worth getting. Everything is fresh, and quickly prepared. I go to Alcupulcos whenever I want good basic Mexican food.

Decent mexican. Great burritos. I love the queso dip for the chips too! Prices are not the cheapest (not like the cheap sketchy mexican places in Waltham) but not bad for the very large portions.

Avoid the fish tacos at all costs. The "fish" was tiny minced pieces that looked like leftovers from the grill. I have never seen fish tacos like that before. Very unappetizing. The fajitas are OK. Margaritas--ok, not great. Staff are very friendly, service was quick. Free chips: a little greasy for my taste, but ok.

I feel that the Acapulco's chain in general is not that great. But at the Framingham location the food and the service are really good. I have been to the Sudbury location and the food was terrible, but for some reason the Framingham location is far superior. I have eaten here several times and will keep coming back Maybe its the mainly Latino clientele that keep this place honest, but despite the run down appearance from the outside, Acapulco's Framingham is warm, inviting and delicious on the inside.

why can't it be delicious or authentic? Framingham doesn't need to be the chain food restaurant capital of mass.

  • Dorian G.

The prices are right, the portions are right, the drinks are the right size and not too watery...but there's something amiss here. I don't know what though. Maybe I'm just a "burrito-to-go" girl at heart and feel as though nothing can live up to me fave Mexican take out place in Brookline. But when in Rome, order the Fajita Quesadillas. Yum!

    (4)
  • Juggy W.

One of my fav chain mexican joints. Large portions with reasonable prices. The lunch rush can get pretty crazy at times and some waitors do need constant reminders to refill your water or salsa. The burritoes are awesome and the pork w/ egg is absolutely delicious. The salsa is always freshly made with scallions, onions, garlic and jalapeno. -1 star for downsizing the meal portions recently... and their watery and tasteless guacamole.

  • KMarie G.

I've had better mexican, but I've also had worse. Their menu is extensive and the prices are right! Their rice seemed a bit undercooked. A few dishes could be a bit more spicy, but overall the food here is very good. The service good as well! Oh yeah, and huge portions!

This is a great place for a Mexican fix. First it's FAST. They hustle here and you can be in and out. I have my favorites, but I haven't found very much that isn't good. If you like it HOT, order the pico de gallo. It's not on the menu, but it will make the salsa look like water. Oh yeah, at $2.50, it's a bargain. But be warned! Have your water filled in advance. Also, last time we did have a waiter who said they didn't have it, but they do! Oh yes, and the Mariachi band on Mondays is a nice touch - and good reason to get your Tex-Mex fix. It's not fancy, but worth the trip.

The bar staff, especially Jesse and Blanca, are wonderful. They will remember you face and what you drink. The food is great as well. The Mrs and i go down there often and for two people getting food and drinks we get out for under $50. Would recommend this location over the others anytime

O.M.G. this is why Mexican food gets such a bad rap here in the USA. This was the horriblest Mexican food ever. Really. Really. Bad. Even the beer was flat or too warm. Ok. We went on Cinco de mayo. Shouldn't you shine on that day? No. According to them, you should attempt to serve food that as closely resembles sewage as possible. Onions not caramelized. Meat not salted. Salsa tasted like ketchup. Hot sauce was neither. I may clean my insides with bleach. HFS this was bad. The staff was really nice.

  • Cindy H.

The portions are gigantic, but the food is nothing special. My chimichanga was way too spicy, but the food itself had no flavor. Also, it was extremely, extremely soggy. Sadly, this is one of the better meals I have had in this area though.

It's definitely not anything like Arizona Mexican food. Guacamole was crunchy. The flan is very "custard-y" but good. The brownie Sunday is the best part about my cheat day meal!

I hadn't been here in years because I had a few bad meals in the past. My girlfriend really wanted Mexican so I figured I'd give it another chance. I'm glad I did. The food was really good this time around. We actually went 3 time over the past two weeks. The fajita tacos are good, the enchiladas are awesome and the shrimp fajitas also hit the mark. Skip the queso, it's nothing special in my opinion.

Just to update on my experience with takeout - we ordered three items and none of them were right. In-store seems to be fine, but takeout is a bit sketchy! Maybe go to the store in person and order? LOL

I love Mexican food. There are some truly gourmet Mexican joints and then there are your typical Mexican dives. I went to Acapulco's with proper expectations as a a dive and was very disappointed. The service, although friendly, was exceedingly slow, especially during a lunch rush. The salsa, I kid you not, has ZERO fresh tomatoes. I venture to say it's nothing more than condensed tomato soup with a few yellow and green onions in it to make it appear fresh. It tastes as good as it sounds. How do you screw up salsa? I won't go too much into the enchiladas. They tasted like the enchiladas a restaurant would make that uses Campbell's tomato soup as salsa.

Ordered my food spicy for take out. Went to pick it up, asked to confirm the order, they said, no we forgot to make it spicy. They suggested that I used hot sauce. I asked them to remake the order instead, which they did. Food is ok, not the greatest... I will be going to the Aztec in Framingham next time.

I came here today with my coworker for lunch, we were quickly served chips and salsa but had to ask for silverware and napkins that weren't at the table already. We each ordered the combo meals. I had the Chicken Tamale and she had a Chimichanga. The look of the food was kind of disheartening. My tamale looked like it had been microwaved and was somewhat burnt. Her chimichanga was so flat. I took a bite, no flavor, the only thing I could taste was the super spicy Salsa Verde, which I typically like but it was so bland. The rice was a bit soggy and the beans were mediocre. I was not impressed at all. I am Puerto Rican and Im spoiled with rich flavorful food, typically Mexican places tend to be both, or at least one of those things. Today's experience was far from ideal. I had to force myself to finish most of it. A disappointment I will not be back.

They don't always get it right the first time, but it's good. Have eaten at both this location & sudbury location for years without any major issues or "food poisoning". Rice and beans are great. I stick to Fajita Tacos or Fajita salad.. Have had burritos & chimichangas before as well. Husband always gets steak fajita chimichanga and never complains. Not necessarily "authentic" Mexican but it works. Not a place with fresh table side guacamole which is a let down... But overall it's good.

I went there when it was a little less busy and we were waited upon right away. I started off with a premium Margarita with patron in it. The drink itself wasn't bad, but since I got one of the pricier ones, I was a little disappointed. My girlfriend however got a cheaper flavored Margarita which was pretty tasty. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. We both just got fajitas which were delicious. Everything was pretty good but I wasn't amazed, so no 5 stars.

I'm from San Diego so my expectations for mexican food are pretty high. I thought this was pretty good for Northeast Mexican food. We got combo chicken and steak fajitas that were very good. My husband even liked our kiddos beef taco that she strangely refused. Good service and prices. I'm not sure about the salsa, it was a bit off....but didn't stop me from eating it. I may go again or order take out. It was child friendly for a toddler.

This is not my favorite location from this local chain but it is not bad. The service was slow - there were 4 waiters/waitresses on and the place was almost dead - no excuse! The food is always good - not great but good. The guacamole is always fresh. I am not a huge fan of the salsa - it is too watery - needs more tomatoes / veggies in it. The tacos were good but the beans that came with them were beyond bland. My friend I was with had a shrimp dinner that came out on a massive plate with huge portions. She said it was excellent. The prices are really good for the portion sizes you get.

I went to Acapulcos on a very busy night after a long day with my girlfriend and our children our kids were tired hungry and not in the best of moods. The host says 15 minute wait, since I have been dying to go to Acapulcos with all the great reviews on here I say I will wait after 25 minutes of waiting we see management taking a nice white family of 5 to a table, that came 25 minutes after we did. So I walk over to him and I said, did they have a reservation? he said no, so why are they going before me? he said well it's a party of 5 and I said we are a party of 5 and we have been waiting 25 minutes so why do the get to go before us. by this time my girlfriend was ready to walk and visibly upset. he apologies and said he would get us a table as soon as possible I am the nice calm collective one in the group. My girl was ready to fight beat someone. 5 minutes later we did get a table and he apologies again why he bypass us and went to the other family, I can only guess. We got to our table our wait begin again. wait stuff was nice and like I said place was super pack. The brought us chips and salsa which my children was very happy to fill their belly with, I think we all were and they kept it coming since we had to wait another half an hour before they took our orders. the place is poorly decorated and can you use a touch up on everything and it was so loud but let's forget all that and talk about the food. my ten year old ordered soft taco plan with just the meat like he does at taco bell and he would not eat it. He ask to go to taco bell instead and kept filling himself up with chips and his brother's wings. my three year old had chicken wings which was like your wing dings from those pizza sub places and most people in our party just ate some of his wings. now for me I am a steak and shrimp kind of girl and thats what I had steak taste like can meat shrimp was excellent so was the side of rice and the beans smell like cat food so I didn't even bother tasting it. The drinks were good but don't expect to get a buzz even after 4 drinks. I will return for the shrimp and rice, even the drinks . I will also try going on a less busy night maybe during lunch time maybe my rating will change then.

The food here is very good, service is fast and friendly. The location is a little awkward because if your staying at the hotel across the road, you have to dodge cars on a four lane highway..

Went in and for some food to go on the way to Boston. Ordered at the bar area from a server who called me hon and babe while taking my order. I got a chicken quesadilla. Very basic. It was soggy and tasteless. Thirty minutes later- bam, worst food poisoning of my life. Never again.

Visited this place for lunch last week. The food was absolutely disgusting! Frozen food which was reheated.. How do I know? Well, part of the meat dish was still cold!! I had to stop my son from eating the food. The service was poor and took ages for a simple order. And the restaurant was not even half full. Do yourself a favor and steer far away from this place.... And one more thing- my son told me say that the bean paste was possibly the most disgusting thing he has ever tasted and I agree..

Ate here on saturday night, and was up with the most awful food poisoning all night. 24 hours later and I am still sick as a dog. Do yourself a favor and skip this one... it's filthy.

The best salsa around! The service is always good and the food is awesome and comes out super fast! My personal favorite is the Chimichanga! I usually get a cup of salsa to go because I love it so much! The restaurant itself is kinda run down but is absolutely worth a stop.

Pro's - Awesome chips & salsa - Boozy margarita's - Fairly inexpensive Con's - Cheap tasting food (Just didn't taste fresh and that is what mexican food all about) - Horrible Service - Slow - Old interior We went here on cinco de mayo at 8:30ish and just left really disappointed. I would come here again but I would probably just stay in the bar next time. Cause the dining experience leaves something to be desired. Horrible staff that took forever for food that tasted like most of it came from the microwave.

    (2)
  • Eva H.

A friend brought me here, saying it was the most authentic Mexican food in her area. Pretty simple, but the service was nice. I had a combo plate with a mole enchilada and a cheese burrito and it was all very simple and delicious. The refried beans that came on the side definitely tasted like lard, so perhaps not a very vegetarian-friendly place. Maybe a little pricey for the simplicity of the food, but other than that, no complaints!

    (4)
  • L W.

This restaurant is absolutely disgusting. You can tell from the second the "food" is delivered to you that it was not cooked but probably just heated in a microwave. Nothing is fresh. If you eat meat, the taste of it can probably disguise the disgustingness of the meal itself; but I am a vegetarian and I got a mouth full of the horrible flavors. Now for specifics: the salsa was off (and my meat-eating husband agreed with this), the vegetarian burrito was gross. I could taste the bleach-taste of the white rice in my burrito (which was atrocious and a first for me) and everything else was just ick, ick, ICK! Their queso dip I SWEAR is just Kraft cheese with something thrown into it. Everyone knows Kraft cheese is 50% cheese and 50% stuff - i.e. manufactured crap Kraft adds. Ewww. Now for the fun stuff: my husband had to stop three times on our way home to Boston to use the bathroom, each time in a real emergency situation. This restaurant makes me embarrassed to be an American. Some of the "food" we are served in this country is beyond disgraceful. Go here if you would like to have stomach upset for the rest of the evening and an all-around meal that is disgusting.

  • Cary S.

The best Mexican restaurant in Framingham, no question. I've been regularly going there for years and all things considered, I really can't find anything worth complaining about. If you're big into the Americanized type of Mexican food like Margarita's then it may not be your best choice, but for more on the authentic side of things it definitely is a great option.

    (5)
  • Jenny F.

Thought this was overpriced for the quality/type of food here. Don't get the sandwiches - the chicken comes in a strange, pinkish twinge and was tough and rubbery. The enchiladas and other plates looked more appetizing, but was also more expensive. To be honest, the quality didn't look much better than chipotle for twice the price. The service was slow but polite. Margaritas came in a decent size, but it's basically your typical kitschy Mexican place.

    (2)
  • Libbie P.

Great food, fast service, low prices. What more could you ask for? They make homemade tortilla chips (still warm) and very fresh salsa. My husband loves the fajitas and I love the fish tacos. A must for any visit is an Ultimate Margarita or two.

    (5)
  • Lindsey H.

I find Acapulcos to be pretty hit or miss. I do enjoy their cocktails. I think the freebie chips always taste stale. Quesadillas are good, but I've been disappointed by their entrees several times.

    (2)
  • Keith R.

I keep trying to give this place another try and each time I'm disappointed. The food is just not quality. The chicken and pork are the lowest grade of meat you can find. The last two meals I got was the chicken mole and carnitas. These two dishes are Mexican traditions and Its terrible that they can't got those right. It's sad that next time I'm craving Mexican I am going to chipotle. There just isn't any good Mexican in metro west.

    (2)
  • Lina R.

I've been to better Mexican places. Not sure how other reviewers gave this place 5 stars but it could be the lack of other mexican places in the area. I mean if you're comparing Acapulcos to Taco Bell then yeah I would give it 5 stars too. I got the Mole Enchiladas. The inside was chicken but it was very dry and tasteless. I thought the mole would take care of it but it didn't counterbalance the dryness of the filling. There was some random cheese sprinkled on my beans, maybe it was meant to be thrown on the enchiladas but I thought the preparation was careless. I was not satisfied with the food. I got a Blue Moonlight Margarita. Yeah it was $7.50, which I consider cheap for a margarita, but I could barely taste ANY tequila in it. Do I have to ask for a normal dose of tequila? Obviously I don't buy a drink just to pay $7.50 for a fruit drink, I can go to Walmart and get some Kool-Aid for .48 cents if thats what I wanted- come on people, give me some tequila in the drink! Nothing makes a happy customer like a strong drink. Then our server. Her name tag was upside down so I couldn't get her name- but she was unpleasent, never stopped at our table to ask if we needed anything, and took forever inbetween getting our drinks, asking for our food, and then giving us the check. I would give her 0 stars. Overall, if you want to go out to eat, drive down to Natick where you can take your pick of restaurants.

This a great tex/mex spot. they have great lunch specials, and the rest of the menu offers to awesome choices too. The service is quick, you get chips and salsa while you wait (save room for your meal!). my only issue is that the staff for some reason thinks that I (the customer) want them to offer and "authentic" experience, so they call me "Amigo" and say "hola" at the door... maybe some people enjoy this. i think its cheesier than a Wisconsin pizza. but, whatever floats your boat i guess. Combo Dos please! They also have a nice little bar with a TV.

Sadly, I will never return to this restaurant. It only takes one bad experience to ruin many good ones. Gave me the completely wrong order (take out). Upon calling, the so-called manager all but accused me of making it up and would not give me a credit without coming back (on a very rainy night, I might add). #fail

Don't let the name fool you the food here is not something like you would find in the pacific coast city that shares it's name. The food is very tex-Mex. Their is just a lack of Mexican cities that Americans recognize. So every Mexican restaurant is named Acapulco's. You won't find anything besides the usual Mexican fair on the menu. This is a good thing because this is just where they're comfortable, and what they do best. Every mexican food restaurant gets a bonus star here in Massachusetts just for trying and lack of competition. This is a solid 3 star restaurant that get 4 stars because of where it's located. The meal starts well with great chips and salsa, they give you your own mini bottle of salsa which is real nice. They continue the momentum with a clean place and the quick friendly service that you would expect for a rout 9 spot. I would highly recommend lunch here.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Massachusetts so far. We've been coming here for years and it's been consistently great for us. Love the chile rellenos, oceano burrito, and just about everything else I've tried. They also have alternate spicy salsa if you ask. Finally, the El Presidente margaritas are the gold standard. I'm giving it 5 stars even though we've been to fancier Mexican restaurants that have more sophisticated meals, but I think this place better represents the essence of Mexican dining. We had slightly better Mexican food, but it was in Mexico. Also see my review for their sister restaurant "Playa del Carmen" in Holden.

Ive been coming here maybe once a year for the past few years since they took over the location from Cantina Iguana. Food is usually pretty good, I stick with the combo plates for Enchiladas and Chili Relenos which are both fairly good. The green sauce they put on it is quite good as well. Warm chips and salsa are part of the gig here, Salsa is pretty good though youll have to ask for some hotter sauce to mix into it if you're looking for a bang. Ahh yes, forgot to mention there were a lot of flies flying around our table - really kinda nasty

I was pleasantly surprised by Acapulcos. As a native Californian I'm super picky about Mexican food and finding something in Mass that is truly authentic has been very difficult, to say the least. The salsa was good and spicy. I had a combo plate with a chile relleno and enchiladas. My husband had a carne asada burrito. The chile relleno didn't have much batter on the outside but the flavors all around were good. The black beans, refried beans and the rice were all surprisingly good. In fact,we're still talking about how good the black beans were. The only thing was that the meat in the burrito was overcooked. The service was excellent. The owner even apologized for a flakey air conditioner on the way out...it's not something we even noticed at all but you could tell that making guests happy was a priority. I will definitely be going back when the craving for Mexican food strikes!

Nothing creative on the menu here, but they do the basics very well. For some reason I think that the Sudbury location is more consistent, but both have the same great burritos, enchiladas, tortas, etc. The free (very fresh) chips and salsa are delicious, and I love that they're always served immediately when you sit down. I think it's by design so that you're thirsty by the time they take your drink order. I haven't tried anything I didn't like here.

Great place. Stopped by here for some lunch. Had the Veggie Fiesta plate. It was delicious and filled me up for the day; it's quite a bit of food. Friendly staff. Clean, welcoming environment. What more could you ask for. I'd definitely eat here again.

We had about nine people in our party on a Monday night. The waitstaff were friendly and we even got to see another patron get serenaded because it was their birthday. The chicken flautas were good, not the best I've ever had, but decent. The frozen strawberry margarita was completely weak; it was just a big waste of $7 or $8 on an almost virgin concoction. Yes, I'll be back but I won't be ordering the same drink.

Acapulcos has the best Mexican food I've yet had in Metro West. Only its down-market decor precludes a 4-star rating. Staff is very friendly, and the food comes fast and is well-prepared. Their chips and salsa are excellent (unless you hate cilantro, which I love), and their seafood dishes are quite good. I've been disappointed by the blandness of their guacamole more than once, however, This is not a restaurant for those who are watching their fat intake! Though delicious, the food has so much fat content that I'm often in a stupor for hours afterwards. That said, with the size of the Latin population in Metro West, it's time for an elegant, first-rate Brazilian, Caribbean, or Mexican restaurant in the area.

We ordered take out here for lunch- wasnt very impressed although I am never too pleased with metro west lunch selections.Had some enchiladas a mix of three different ones- it was okay- sauces were decent - my friend had some little fried taquito type objects which were kind of dry and someone else got a burrito which was humongous but he said it wasnt the best he's ever had. Overall I think that this place has potential and Im sure that many people do like it - but you have to be ready for a Mexican-American meal , leaning more towards the american. One thing we loved though was the salsa- tasted great

Another night at Acapulco's last night. No margaritas this time! I looked closely at the vegetarian section of the menu this time, and noticed that you can get whole black beans with the vegetarian entrees. Score! So I decided to try the vegetarian quesedilla combo. The good news, the black beans, topped with just a touch of cojito, were really good. Unfortunately, none of the quesedillas were that successful. The best of the bunch was the spinach (surprisingly!), and even that was a little on the bland side. The plain cheese and the tomato, onion and bell pepper were pretty uninspired. I usually love guacamole, so I asked for that on the side rather than sour cream, which they were happy to oblige. Unfortunately, something about it didn't taste very good. Couldn't but my finger on why, just.... not good. Service was good as always, and plentiful chips with awesome salsa. My BFF loved her seafood burrito and my husband was satisfied with his usual steak quesedilla, no peppers (wild one, he is). So still a good trip, overall. Next time: attempting to have the black beans on the side of a more worthy entree!

Love going here with the wife and kids. Great for a family and the margaritas are not too bad either! I would have to say my favorite item on the menu besides the margaritas is the steak fajitas.

I guess I'm just a city snob. There's just something I find hokey and unappetizing about a suburban Mexican chain. Thankfully (for my own sense of self anyway) that the food and service justify my snobbery. In the three or four times I've been to Acapulcos, I've had bland food (watery salsa and dry chicken highlight every dish) and apathetic service. The free basket of tortilla chips is nice, but I'd rather pay $1.50 for a bag of good ones at Anna's Taqueria. You don't have many options in Framingham. So I guess my review of Acapulcos would be to drive east towards Waltham. There are good restaurants a few minutes away. I promise.

Cheap delicious food, super quick and friendly waitstaff - what is there possibly to complain about this place?? The chips and salsa are AWESOME! It's free and they will keep bringing you more, so if you're strapped for cash, this is the place to go!

Still very happy with Acapulcos. Great and friendly staff. Good food. Definitely a little more authentic than most.

This had ok food and drinks. Ask for the "hot" salsa from the back as the regular salsa isn't very good (too much tomato). I got the quesadilla combo and was underwhelmed. My friends got the enchilada and combination platter and they liked it pretty well...but I've definitely had better.

Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and I grew up in Southern California. When my brother discovered this place he told me about it and we go often. All our friends that we have introduced to this restaurant love it. Jesus, the manager, is awesome as well as the wait staff. They are attentive. If you like Mexican food, you will love Acapulcos. The food, the service, are terrific and the prices are good too. You will not be disappointed. The arroz con pollo is the best! Very tasty as well as many other items on their menu.

2 stars and thats a reach i knew what i was getting into, one meh lunch with one neurotic family, mine. the chips that came as a refill were incredible, hot, salty, tasty, plus 1 star. the salsa was exactly how i like it, emulsified, ok maybe not your thing, but def mine. there was traditional on the table too, but not for moi. the diet coke was flat, the taquitos were the only thing i felt safe with and the burrito mer got was scary (the veg, came with no cheese, boo) i gave them another star just cause we were "that family" with a screamy kid and a 4 year old running around the place. sorry other people at acapulcos, one for the screaming, two cause you chose to eat there. i could see if i worked at staples and there was a going away or happy hour going to get loaded, but on the weekend, well no excuse. good service considering the bs associated with parties of 10 like us, but for an auto 18%, id deal too

Food is very tasty, service is great. They have live mariachi on Tuesday nights (which can be a bit lout and disturbing when trying to have a quiet dinner), but its still a fun experience none the less. I would suggest the Taquito's, taco salad, or the enchiladas.

Great food, solid portions at reasonable prices. Delicious margaritas - the house blend is served out of THE GUN at the bar. I have a crush on their salsa. I'm a big fan of the enchiladas, particularly the El Paso. That's my go-to. The Camerones al Mexicana is another standout. I've always had fast and friendly service and I'm surprised to see others complain. I'm usually here when it's very crowded, so I wonder if the "off-peak" staff is a little slower. It's a great spot for kids, and I say that as someone without children. It does get a little loud, especially on Mariachi night, but it's a lot of fun. They also do good work to go - the food is always ready when I get there and I live only about 10 minutes away.

Absolutely love the chimichangas here. I have been here quite a few times, and found it always to be a good time, food was above average, and the staff was quite helpful. Did I mention the chimis?

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Framingham. I try to arrive here early because the place gets very busy. I enjoy the complementary chips and salsa (poured from a bottle). My favorite is the Pacifico Chimichanga (deep fried tortilla stuffed with fish, shrimp, scallops, crabmeat, vegetable and covered in a white sauce), which is served with rice, refried beans, sour cream, and avocado. The portions are large and the food is tasty here. The prices and service are decent.

I have been to this location many times before but my visit tonight was not the best. The steak fajita chimichanga did not taste as good as usual. Love their rice and that tasted as good as always. And the chips and salsa were good. I think the Norwood location is the best and will probably return there again but might think twice about this location. Maybe it was just the cook on tonight also. Acapulcos is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, guess it was just a bad night.

Yeah, lets just say that the only good thing is the food here-nice portions awesome flavors and it is well worth the price. The service, not so good. They give you lots of nice free salsa but trust me-waiting around for 10-15 minutes for a soda to go along with it brings down the rating for me. Flagging down the waiter to give me a refill also isn't something that I find enjoyable. At least the margarita was good also.

Service is almost always fast and efficient, chips are warm and fresh and salsa is usually pretty good, though it seems like they got a little cilantro happy for a few months. Always a good way to start a meal. They have a lot of very good menu items, but I think a fair amount of mediocre standards that you have to learn to avoid. If you know how to order here, you're almost always going to have a great meal. Don't forget to try their nachos just because of the chips that come as a starter, they're really good.

The Acapulcos still has some of the best mexican food in the Framingham area. The problem though is they just can't get takeout orders right. The last 2 times we've had takeout - there's either something missing or one of the items is wrong. At this point, it will be stirke three if they blow the next takeout order.

The mexican food here is amazing, AND consistent. I go here at least once a week. The only downside is that the place is a bit rundown on the inside but oh well. The staff more than makes up for the drab interior by being so cheery.

After moving to Boston form our native California, I searched far and wide for authentic, full flavor real mexican food, and was constantly let down. Three years latter we agreed the closest we could find to real mexican was sadly Chipotle. We still had a hope that one day we'd find something amazing. That day came on Easter or as I like to call it the Resurrection of our taste buds! We where actually greeted with the spanish Hola! And not by some bubble gum chewing gringa either. When they seated us we noticed that the whole place with filled with Latin americas a very good sign that the food is going to be authentic and good! Sure enough our server came over and gave us the best tasting sasla and in a small wine craft with two bowls. The enchiladas I ordered where amazzing! The seasoning and love that went in to the marinade for the beef should be bottled and sold. As a Californian I have come to know what real mexican food is and it's not just fajitas and some refried beans. It's more then that It's love. Cooking from the heart for the soul. it's flavorful, addicting with fresh cilantro, garlic, lime and Jalopenos lingering on your tounge. The cool comfort of fresh Guacamole which by the way was out standing. Really good food for people who know what good mexican food is! This is how my girlfriend and I felt after dinning at Acapulcos! You want awesome food and warm people serving you and making you feel at home then look no further MA, finally has great mexican food! i highly recommend Acapulcos! It may not look so hot the building but what awaits you your taste buds is nothing short of amazing and yummy!

We've been eating at Acapulcos since it opened. The service is always excellent and friendly. We've gotten to know the folks at Acapulcos and feel like part of the Acapulcos family. Our kids run in and give them all hugs. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, whether it is fajitas, as ado burritos, enchiladas Jalisco, etc. Try it all. As for their drinks, you must have a Cadillac margarita! The Ultimate Margarita is also a killer. I miss the days when you could order a pitcher of margaritas, but it's probably for the best. Enjoy!

Yeah its a chain. Yeah the salsa is watery and the margaritas taste cheap. Yeah eating the guacamole makes me feel a little bit dirty. Yeah the takeout looks like an entirely unappetizing tray of slop. The only reason to come here is for the chile con queso. It's cheap deliciousness. I am not sure that you can justify a trip to Acapulcos for cheese dip alone, but I am a fan. If you really want a nail in the coffin, the fried ice cream isn't bad either but between the appetizers and the desserts, I don't think Acapulcos has much to offer.

You people overestimate this place. We're talking about MEXICAN FOOD in MASSACHUSETTS. Of course it's not going to be as "authentic" or delicious as it can be -- the cooks don't have access to all the best supplies for making authentic Mexican food here. If you're so inclined on finding a great Mexican place, go to Mexico, or heck, try Florida. I've lived there for six years and you can't much better than some cheap Latin food at a cafe or dinner neighbor's house. My family's Cuban, so I've been lucky enough to have experienced the greatness of the Latin cuisine -- my abuela is the best cook evaah! Anyway, back to Acapulcos. So I agree with some of you, Acapulcos isn't the best. But if you keep in mind that there aren't any great Mexican restaurants in Framingham, it suddenly isn't that bad! At least the people who work there are actually hispanic.. y'know?! For the Framingham/Natick/Boroughs area, and for the people who really despize long drives, I'd say this place is as good as it's going to get.

Acapulco's are not a chain -- they are a franchise with individual owners. That being said we had a great experience last night at this particular location. Our bartenders, Jessie and Tamra were awesome. As soon as we sat down we had a basket of fresh, still warm chips with fresh salsa before us. I hate that people say it's watery -- guess when you are used to Pace the fresh stuff doesn't do it for you. This is just how we make our salsas at home -- fresh tomatoes, diced onions, cilantro, yum! We were just going to have a couple of margaritas but that was before Jessie let us sample the Chile Verde. It was so good! We split an order and it was just right. We both tried different types of margaritas last night but my favorite was the El Presidente -- I like that shot of brandy in it. Very tasty! We will definitely be back soon for the fajitas -- I saw 3 orders go out and the smell alone hooked me.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
