A hot meatball sub on a rainy day. Perfection! Hot, tasty, made to order. There were lots of great products on the shelves, but time was not on my side for browsing. Will definitely go back

The food is awesome, great lunch sandwiches (try the chicken parm) and food to go is all fresh prepared daily. The manicotti I had was made that day and was outstanding.

Cathy to the Rescue!!! I thought I could manage to do everything for my sister in-laws baby shower. NOPE! Life just doesn't always go as planed haha. I called Slice of Italy. Cathy put an amazing deli wrap platter together, a big house salad and a caesar salad. I received many compliments. I called with less than 24hrs. notice and on a Saturday :/ Cathy was happy to meet me on Sunday morning bright and early...well my husband, I was still putting frosting on cupcakes. We love this place, and frequent it for a quick lunch or specialty pastries and cookies. Their fresh selection of homemade Italian food is always delicious and their top notch friendly service leaves a smile on your face after every visit.

I almost always go here when I'm down in Falmouth. They have the best meatball sub I've ever had in my life, hence the 5-star rating. They have deli sandwiches too, which are also pretty tasty. I've mainly stuck with the pasta and meatball subs, although I hear the chicken parm is very good also. The deli rolls are soft and fresh. I'm always a little surprised when the provolone goes into the meatball sub cold and it doesn't get toasted. But by the time you open it, the hot meatballs have melted the cheese into a delicious blanket that wraps around the oversized meatballs. Did I mention the meatballs are huge? It's harmonious and delicious. This place is also a gourmet Italian market. They sell deli meats of every kind, ravioli, pastas of all shapes and sizes, etc. Gotta love the atmosphere too. There's deli meats hanging from basically anywhere you can hang a deli meat. They have sweets, treats, and meats. The staff are always helpful, and business-like. Kind of like anywhere...make up your mind, and don't dilly dally. Step aside if you need more time. They're friendly enough, but don't waste their time. They get busy around lunch. This should be a rule of thumb for life...not just this eatery. This place is great...one of the best Falmouth has to offer. It's sort of a hidden gem since it's located next to a Radio Shack, and nobody shops at Radio Shacks anymore. But I urge everyone to try this out if ever in Falmouth. You can only eat so much fried fish and chowder.

An awesome Italian grocery store where you can get great authentic food to eat there or take out. Family owned and operated and they are extremely knowledgable. DOP tomatoes, Sicilian Oregano, hard to find oils and vinegars are just a tiny account of this great store, love it!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
