I am pretty shocked by the bad reviews on here. Mainly because the food here is not THAT bad ... it is typical Chinese food that you would get from just about any local place. All those yelpers who are writing bad reviews because of small service issues or the fact the food is average are kind of missing the point here. If this was located in Natick or Westborough ... okay, the experience would not be great. But it's Dudley, MA! Be glad there is even a Chinese food place here. The food isn't going to amaze you ... but it won't disappoint you unless you are expecting a PF Chang's experience in Dudley. The bar area is the biggest/central part and is a pretty good place to drink and eat with coworkers. They have a back section with tables which really needs to be redesigned because compared to the nice bar, it looks like a college cafeteria. There is an interesting smell at Yummi's. Almost a combination of mildew and grain alcohol. However, beyond the unique scent which is reminiscent of a college fraternity house carpet ... Yummys is very clean and well kept. It is not dirty. The prices here are a bit higher than one would expect for dinner of a place like this ... however, the lunch menu is around half price of what dinner and I don't notice much of a change in the portion size. Lunch combos are the way to go. For $5 - $7 you will get 2-3 appetizer type combos with fried rice at lunch. For dinner the same combos range from $8 - $12. Drinks here are strong. Scorpion Bowls are probably the most commonly ordered drink. You could probably use them to power a jet they are so strong. They claim to make the 'world's best Mai Tai'. Perhaps not even Dudley's best Mai Tai would be more of truth. I stick with the beer because after 2 Mai Tais, I get an incredible pounding headache due to what is likely 151, Grain Alcohol or perhaps even gasoline which is mixed into them. The staff here is clearly first generation and there are language issues, which might come across as rudeness. I don't think the staff is rude or aloof, I just think that some of them have a legitimately tough time communicating with customers because their English skills aren't fantastic. The college students down the street come here a lot in the fall and spring. Summers are pretty empty. Overall, this is NOT a 1 or 2 star experience. I'd say 3 stars would be accurate but I am giving 4 stars because the lunch prices are so good.

Strange place. The drinks could have been better. The food was average, not terrible but not great. The atmosphere was odd. It's very dark in there. It's seems like a bar that wants to be a restaurant.

So-so. Not horrible but not really worth it, especially with better places around. Nothing really stood out but I do remember the chicken fingers being really dry. Drinks were also average. They claim to have the "world's best Mai-Tai" but trust me, it's not even the best in Dudley. Strangely, the food was much better when I got takeout than when I ate there. I wouldn't avoid it if I was going with a group or something, but I wouldn't suggest it either.

I am quite familiar with Yummy's because I know the dj that djs there every Saturday night. The food is well okay, but that's nothing to say because I'm not a fan of Chinese/Asian food, but personally I think they should stick with just Chinese food. The pad Thai is not good. It's spicy and doesn't have any peanut taste whatsoever. Overall, Yummys is an okay restaurant that serves Asian fusion food, but should stick to Chinese. The people are nice and always give good service.

F & L: first and last. First time eating in and very weird experience. Walked in and our waiter took 3 menus and started to walk toward the dining area.... Not even saying a word to us. Register women had to tell us to follow him. Waiter should not be a waiter..., no social skills. Takes order and leaves.... Very uncomfortable. He should be in the kitchen. Son orders Chicken Fingers as his dinner and they come out immediately. Then my wife's Pad Thai comes out than my food comes out 5 minutes later. No comment from the waiter....just put food down. My orange beef was awful.... Tasted like they put ketchup on it. Small order with no rice for $10.95. Had to order chicken low mien & fried rice to take home and even that wasn't good. Too bad because it's the closest restaurant to my part of Woodstock, ct.

This restaurant is the worst example of food and customer service ever. I was absolutely disgusted with how they treated our waitress, they followed her around and told all of her tables she was new and degraded her and made everyone uncomfortable. They blamed her for bringing out the wrong rice when in all actuality it was a male waiter with zero personality that brought it out. The Chinese group of employees sat around in a group talking about the American employees and the guests. I was appalled, couldn't believe they were doing this. The owners are rude and nasty people. The food tasted like burnt rubber . I will never return here. They should be reported to the board of health for how dirty it is in there as well.

I guess the story is that Yummy's recently moved from their previous location in the Friendly's plaza in Webster to this new Dudley location. Well cool, cause that's super close to my house. Also, Yummy's is now branding themselves as "Asian Fusion" cuisine, rather than just Chinese. Anyway. Sooo I don't know what this building used to be before, but I'm thinking maybe like a sports bar kinda place. It's really dark inside and the decor is sort of outdated. Service was quick and our waitress was really friendly. There was a big TV good for watching the game. They have a pretty nice drink menu with your standard umbrella drinks and cocktails. A few beers as well. As far as the food goes... mixed feelings. We went to Yummy's because someone else had told me they actually make excellent Thai food. Normally I don't go to a Chinese place looking for Thai, but I decided to try based on the recommendation. I was sort of disappointed. The pad thai was OK but definitely not as good as what you would get at a real Thai restaurant. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great. I was a bit too scared to try the sushi. I just never feel comfortable ordering sushi anywhere except for a Japanese restaurant. Maybe their standard "Chinese" offerings are better than the pad thai? Will have to find out next time. Yummy's will deliver to your house (even down in Woodstock, CT) for $5. Couldn't find the menu online, though.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
