I live right across the street from these guys. Everything they make is absolutely amazing. My current favorites are the chicken Margarita pizza, Hawaiian chicken pizza, chicken Alfredo is unbelievable, and buffalo chicken blue. They gave really good paninis and burgers!

Small joint close to the UMass campus, does deliver which is great. Eating in is an option, but they only have tables for 4, with a total capacity of maybe 15. Service is quick, and prices are reasonably cheap for the college crowd. unfortunately it doesn't stay open that late, so hunger urges on the weekends would need to venture elsewhere. The Bacon Extra Cheeseburger Pizza (bacon, beef, extra cheese, exactly as it sounds but none of the pitfalls like Papa John's cheeseburger pizza) had a delectably crispy crust. It's thin, and it works well. I wish there was a bit more sauce since bacon is the predominant flavor, but otherwise a solid pizza. The side salad is large (almost an entree on its own). Careful, they load onions on there and no one will want you to kiss them for the rest of the day. Skip the basalmic vinegar and oil dressing, too bland I think.

Id go 3.5 stars for this place. A bit unkept looking inside The food was pretty good, typical bar food options plus more. Large menu is a plus. Got a spinach chicken apple salad, that was pretty good, chicken was flavorful and a bit charred. Also ordered some cheese waffle friends, those were my favorite item. The buffalo chicken quesadilla based on yelp reviews, that was decent, more like a Mexican pizza thought.

Dry and overcooked buffalo tenders with 3 cheese waffle fries with barely any cheese. I ordered from here because of the reviews but unfortunately this will be my first and last time.

Buffalo Mac & cheese is a hidden gem, can't believe there aren't more comments about it here. Have ordered from the Avenue consistently for nearly a year, and have never had a bad experience. Everything is either excellent or pretty good, never disappointing.

I take back everything bad I've ever said about Avenue Grill. I recently posted about a bad experience the first time I ordered from Avenue Grill. I complained about an overpriced delivery order of salads($45). I was contacted personally by the owner Matt, who apologized for my experience. I placed an order for a medium Supreme Calzone and the owner(Matt) showed up at my front door with my order. He didn't charge me for it, and handed me $45 on top of it all. I can't believe the owner took the time to respond to my post and personally reimbursed me on my door step!! Avenue Grill is a respectable family oriented business and I will continue to eat their delicious food!! The food is DELICIOUS!!

Well we have tried this place 3 times since it is close to our work. All I have to say is strike 1 strike 2 and 3!!! Terrible we have tried salads, quesadillas, steak n cheese burgers. Each time we spend roughly $50-$60 just skip this place

Tonight was my first time trying out The Avenue and all I can say is.. WOW! We ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla and portobella, roasted red pepper, and goat cheese pita roll. I thought they were giving us the wrong order at first because of how much food they brought out, but come to find out the portions are just really enormous! But I'm not complaining :) Everything was terrific and I can't wait to try out more of their food in the near future (BTW, the menu is huge!)

Their pizza is fantastic, and their delivery is really fast!

For a pizzeria, this place has a pretty decently sized menu with lots of freedom for customization. Pizza: A friend who had one of their special pizzas said the pizza was tasty, cooked through, & had thin crust. Wraps: So good! So many different veggies packed into a tasty wrap. Only improvement was that red onions would've been better than plain ole white. Cheesy fries: REAL cheese instead of gross liquid cheese. Yum! Salad: The greek salad is just meh- more veggies would have been nice & the packet of kens dressing was awful & oily. This is the reason we chose 4 stars.

I think my roommates and I are single-handedly keeping the doors open with the quantity of food we order from Avenue. I also don't think there's an item on the menu we haven't tried yet, and it's all been great. I mean all of it. Most amazing part is the waffle fries don't get soggy sitting in the takeout boxes so ORDER SOME DANG WAFFLE FRIES. Thank you for always being friendly, fast, and delicious.

  • Heather B.

I am not sure how drunk or stoned people were but the waffle fries were just ok nothing special.I got Reuben is was ok too nothing great but really big for price. The delivery was fast and driver was nice. It did the trick but won't highly recommend just ok. High points fast delivery and ordering online

We eat here at least once a week (and have for at least a couple of years) and everything is delicious. One thing I appreciate in particular is that in addition to your usual pizza and sub fare (which are great, do not be mistaken) that you would expect from this kind of shop, they also have really awesome salads, wraps, and paninis. The salads in particular are a cut above what you would normally get from a sub place--they use mesclun mix instead of iceberg lettuce for a lot of them and have yummy topping options. Also love the frozen yogurt! The menu is huge so despite years of eating here, we still haven't tried anything. Some favorite less-than-healthy indulgences include the Meatmaster Sub, any of the waffle fries with toppings (huge portions and so tasty), and Buffalo Mac and Cheese. Service is friendly, accurate, and fast. Don't ever change, Avenue!

  • Chris L.

Good food and they always get to me fast. I probably have them deliver to my work atleast once a week. Ive never ventures to far off the menu and usually get something with chicken. Salads are good and so ate the wraps.

In an area with a dearth of consistent, reliable sub shops The Avenue is a diamond in the rough. We ordered delivery and yet again they didn't disappoint. We got the bone in hot buffalo wings and a chicken bacon ranch pizza. We had ordered a bacon/eggplant pizza but they accidentally gave us the CBR pizza. Honestly, bank error in our favor, collect an equally if not more awesome pizza. Importantly, the food showed up in the 40 minutes they told us it would and it was still warm. Delivery driver is a nice dude. They had my number and address saved from my previous purchase from there which made the transaction easy. The bone in wings were solid, they had a good amount of crisp and heat to them. Came with bleu cheese dressing. The chicken on the pizza wasn't overcooked (I find this happens a lot), the bacon was crispy and they put some ranch dressing on the pie instead of tomato sauce. The crust was thin and tasted great. I've ordered from there before and will certainly do so again. Like I said the sub shops and pizza in Southie are sub-par, unreliable and inconsistent with their food, but I can always count on The Avenue to come through. Only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is that the "as good as it gets" distinction doesn't QUITE apply to The Avenue IMHO. I would save that for Crow Point in Hingham, T Anthony's in Allston, and Main Street Pizza in Weymouth. But it's Sunday, football is on, friends are over and I'm simply not driving to those places. That being said this place is "as good as it gets" in the Southie/Dorchester area.

Got two sandwiches and jalapeno poppers. I'm 90% sure they make their jalapeno poppers, because they weren't the TGIF variety and the breading was falling off a bit--if they were packaged and frozen it would stay together, right? Regardless of the breading falling off a bit on one, they were fantastic. Mix of cheese inside. If anyone knows what brand to buy in the freezer section to get that, message me. Nice chunky marinara sauce with it too. I got a vegetarian wrap in a pita, which was not what I expected--the veggies and ranch were wrapped in the pita, not stuffed inside. Be warned. I got A LOT more food because of this though. Pretty standard, but fresh. My friend got a chicken panini but he never complains about food, so I'll never really know how it was....he ate it all though!

  • Miranda S.

Very solid takeout spot in Dot. I love the roll ups, subs, and the fries. The calzones are amazingggg! I hear the pizza is good, so I'll be trying that soon :) One thing I didn't like here was a prosciutto panini I got once. The prosciutto was not good at all. Oh and the Mac and cheese. That was pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend it.

The Avenue is a solid place for meals. We get delivery from there consistently and I don't think we've ordered anything yet that we dislike. The salads are filled with fresh vegetables, which is great when you don't feel like cooking but also don't feel like consuming a ton of calories. I really like the lemon chicken soup; it has been a staple order over this cold winter. Another standout is the eggplant panini - fried, breaded eggplant with tomatoes, pesto, and mozzarella cheese. SO good. The pizza is quality as well.

Been coming here for years. A hidden spot in Dorchester for amazing food & some of the best pizza in town. During baseball season this is me nephews favorite spot to stop in after a hard game! The owner Matt is gentleman & always remembers you!

The food was good, but got my order wrong....that's the reason for the lower score.

  • Jesal J.

The good we got there was pretty good... Got a deal for 5 pizzas and wings with 2 soda which was an amazing deal. The pizza was pretty good, but a tiny but over greased. The wings tho were perfect and tasted amazing. Overall for what we paid the deal was amazing and the good was sooooo worth it. Definately gonna come back again

Never been in the store have only gotten delivery, every time it's been great. They are always super fast and you can order online which I love. Their steak tip subs have to be one of my favorite things on the menu.

  • Emerson M.

Lived a block away for 3 years and this was my go-to spot. Pizza, subs, pasta dinners, wings, waffle fries and salads. Always had what I was looking for and always fresh. Plus, the staff are friendly and love their locals. I'm sad I've moved but when I'm back to visit friends I will absolutely stop in for some old favorites.

So far, so good! Ok, I had an issue w/ this place years ago (we're out of this, out of that, etc), but that seems to have changed these days. We decided to re-visit The Avenue....and damn glad that we did. In the past 3 weeks we've tried a delicious Supreme pizza, a few very tasty salads, bomb-ass three cheese waffle fries, EXCELLENT meatball sub and the burgers...oh the burgers. My better half and I ordered the swiss, bacon and mushroom burger as well as the goat cheese and avocado burgers....5 stars! Big, fat burgers loaded w/ flavor. We didn't specify how we wanted them cooked (they were med well..standard), but the next time we/I order I will ask for medium. That, I believe will make a perfect burger IMO. The staff seem very chill to boot...nice. Four stars for now, I can see this place earning an extra star in the near future ;)

Grabbed a pizza from The Avenue last night right after we arrived at our hotel. Delicious pizza! Great crust, fresh veggies and a tasty sauce. Worth fighting for a parking spot to get here.

Live right down the street. There at least 2 times a week. Great subs and pizza. Always get the order spot on and friendly staff.

Great pizza. Delicious sub. And such a good steak tip salad. Wish I lived closer - would be there all the time.

My neighborhood pizza place, and amazingly (for Dorchester) they have multiple awesome vegetarian options. I pretty much always go for the Italian Garden pizza, a garlicky, amazing vegetarian calorie bomb involving breaded eggplant and roasted red peppers. Mmmmm. The Greek Feast is also pretty terrific though always really loaded up with cheeses. The jalapeno poppers are not the best I've ever had but they are always a good idea if you're ordering for a bunch of drunks. They can be on the slow side, but if you pick up it's not really too bad, and they always have the Food Network playing on the TV in there, so I don't really mind waiting around for my pizza while watching the Barefoot Contessa cook up some ridiculous picnic.

  • Lez R.

I order take out from here all the time. Everything is good. They can custom make your order per request. The employees are friendly and have great customer service. My whole family practically eats there daily, that's how good their dinners, subs and pizza's are

Just walked in and they had no menus. Zero. I had to look it up online. This place has gone downhill fast.

I love this place. Right down the street from my house and it has THE most AMAZING fries and wing dings! The pizza is so good and the restaurant has a cute little vibe. Pasta I've never tried but it looks really good!

  • Brent H.

How can they NEVER get a delivery order right? The guy that answers the phone at night now is clueless. The owner use to answer and he'd get the orders right. Their sandwiches are good if you get them by 2pm otherwise the rolls are stale. The salads have yellow lettuce and packaged dressing with not very fresh tomatoes. The pizza is not good but Pantry Pizza owns that market in Dorchester. Considering the average order is $4-6 more for an order for 2 people compared to anywhere in Dorchester you should get the orders right!

The food is good. Quesodilla is larger than expected; taste good too. I stole a cup, I was drunk.

I live down the street from here, and I couldn't be any happier. It's definitely my go to place for food. Portions are big so you get your moneys worth! Don't even think twice about going here, you won't regret it. Some of my favorites: cajun waffle fries, buffalo chicken quesadilla, the blt burger, chicken tenders, and honey mustard chicken sub. I have yet to be disappointed with their food. I live 2 minutes away, yet I still call for delivery every time. They are pretty slow, but all worth it because their food is so good.

    (5)
  • Meg S.

This place is in our neighborhood and is a good place to grab a quick bite. We have ordered here several times and it can be hit or miss on the food. They must change cooks every so often because sometimes the food is excellent an sometimes it's down right nasty. If we want something quick and don't really care we will order from here.

Finally!! This is the best pizza in dorchester and beyond! Awesome crust and great cheese blend. Perfect balance of sauce to cheese. We got half cheese and half margarita chicken. It was perfect! Excellent and fresh. The salad with walnuts and goat cheese was wonderful and fresh. Staff were incredibly friendly. I'm totally impressed and will definitely make this our new favorite. Thank goodness they don't deliver to my part of town, because I would stop buying groceries.

    (5)
  • Ess P.

Took them over 40 minutes to deliver a plate of broccoli ziti. I live two streets away. I specifically asked for no chicken (can't/don't eat it) in my pasta dish yet they included it anyway. The pasta was bland. Yuck.

  • J. Paul A.

Buffalo chicken waffle fries & buffalo chicken pizza were very good. They were tasty and served hot. Place is not much for ambiance and is obviously more of a carry out and delivery place. That said, it was perfectly fine and I would go back if I was in town.

  • G S.

Great food, delivery mostly on time, staff members are polite. I got delivery a bunch of times from here for some work meetings and everyone liked the food. I highly recommend this place for delivery. Their salads are great!

    (4)
  • Hoffman W.

You can't go wrong with the pizza here. It's definitely the best I've had in the area - it's really cheesy and more substantial than the flat, floppy stuff you tend to find in the area. Other than that, I haven't been impressed with most of the rest of the menu, which is huge. I've had a couple of different wraps, which are messy and seemed like they were trying too hard to do something "unique." The paninis are small and overpriced. The service is fine. I always do takeout...there's a small dining room that is fairly well decorated and a step up from your usual pizza/subs/wraps joint. They have a beer license, so obviously they're trying to make it somewhat of a sit-down place, but I can't see myself ever really sitting down there and eating dinner.

  • K M.

The best cheese calzone in town! I love this place! My husband and I stumbled across it and were pleasantly surprised. We ate there, they have great service too. Highly recommended!

This place is less than a block from my house, so I really, really want to love it, and I've tried, but I just can't. There was the time that it was cold and wet outside, and I was feeling lazy, so I ordered for delivery. They told me a half hour. When it had been an HOUR (did I mention that they are less than a block from my house?), I called and said WTF? and it still took them another twenty minutes to get to my front door...with an incomplete order. Another time, another lazy night, I ordered a greek salad and a supreme pizza. Worst greek salad ever. Seriously, don't waste your time. The lettuce (only the white and yellow parts of a head of iceberg) seemed like an afterthought since there was so little of it, the olives were mushy, it had some seriously sad, limp tomato slices, and an inexplicably large amount of both chunks of green pepper and shredded carrot. Also, the pizza...soggy, with "crappy, cheap, flavorless toppings." (The quote is from my boyfriend, who will eat almost anything with gusto. And never gain a pound! Bastard.) I gave them two stars because the people that work here are really nice. I think that maybe the problem is the menu. IT'S HUGE. How can you possibly execute that much food well? Do they really have the business to go through that amount of product and still have it be fresh? Streamline your offerings, guys. Do a few things and do them well, please, because it would be really awesome for me if your food was good. Those lazy nights happen kinda often.

Places like this are a dime a dozen in South Boston, so you have to really stand out for me to bother to write a review of any kind about you, and that is just what this place does! I highly recommend their buffalo chicken quesadilla, buffalo chicken waffle fries, and goat cheese burger, if you have never tried them. Ive tried a bunch of other things from their menu, too, but I think these are generally my 'go to' items. I have never once been disappointed! The portions you get for the price you pay is unreal...I have about 4 nights worth of dinner every time I get their quesadilla. No lie...it comes in a pretty decent sized pizza box! The service is always quick and friendly, even delivery gets to me in less than a half hour most times! If you havent tried it, go for it! you wont be disappointed!

  • Sweet Potato C.

Each time I've eaten in this place, I've been totally smitten with it. The vibe is great, you see a lot of locals, including those in uniform, making their stops here. It's a nice counterpart to the Sugar Bowl, which has a similar vibe, across the street. The pizza, wings, and salads here are good, and their in person and delivery customer service is solid.

  • Laura Y.

Got lunch here one day during work, and it was pretty good. Prices were reasonable, and I got my takeout pretty quickly. Portions were big, and I can imagine some people saving their leftovers for another day.

Great food, delivery is awful. Terrible unfriendly drivers who round up the bill and never go to the right place.

    (3)
  • Andrew H.

I'm impressed. The pizza is wonderful - my friend and I split the chicken margarita. The chicken looked and tasted fresh and charbroiled and all else was thoughtfully done. The crust was crispy and not droopy - it really was a vehicle for the toppings, although not a second thought. We also had the South Beach salad, which was also lovely. I look forward to trying more from here. Highly recommend.

Avenue Grill is my choice for pizza in Boston. I'm from rural Illinois, which (shockingly) is the Mecca of good pizza. I hate the greasy, drippy, floppy New York style pizza that's infiltrated every cheap street-side pizzeria in Boston. The first time I saw someone nonchalantly grab a handful of napkins with the intention to mop up the grease floating atop their watery "cheesy" monstrosity, it was like watching human civilization declining before my very eyes. Avenue Grill is miles above most Boston pizzerias. Their pizzas don't droop like a wet paper sack when lifted to the mouth. Their cheese is a nice matte color--not neon orange, and not glistening with melted plastic fat. Their sausage and feta pizza--mmmm, to die for. And maybe it's because I live a few blocks away, but they'll often have a Foodler order delivered within ten or fifteen minutes--often as much as half-an-hour before promised. I've only dined-in once, but it was a nice, dark, quiet place to sit with friends and wait for a steaming-hot pizza fresh-out-of-the-oven.

  • Suzie F.

I've ordered from here a couple times, it's a hit or miss. Their BLT's are delish and do not skimp out on the bacon and the Greek salads are pretty good too! But I recently order chicken wings and was disappointed! They were pretty dry inside, so I only had about 2 before I tossed em. Also, they forgot the cans of soda that were ordered, that I paid for, but it is what it is, I didn't get mad about it. I'll def order from them again.

  • Michelle B.

I work right down the street from here & this place is the best! Coworkers and I eat here multiple times a week, and at busy times we have eaten here every day of the week! Anything you order is delicious, prices are reasonable, & what you get for the price is totally generous. The staff is awesome, always friendly, & they know us by name. I look forward to going in there not just to eat, but because the atmosphere is great too!

  • Chris W.

Above average delivery food, but here's why I really love this place. We ordered dinner through Grub Hub and it never came. I called to find out what was going on, and it turns out the order sheet fell behind some stuff and never got made. They couldn't apologize enough. They moved us to the front of the line and a manager or owner (not the usual delivery guys) personally delivered it, saying that he had refunded our payment and would not accept cash. That was the one and only time they've ever made a mistake with our order. Good delivery food is reason enough to like these guys, but that kind of commitment customer satisfaction puts them a cut above.

I have dreams, sweet, sweet dreams about the #418...oh, god, my stomach is grumbling right now and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bacon Pineapple pizza, second to none. Oh, oh, waffle fries. There isn't anything else to say, people.

I love Avenue Grille so much that they're saved as a contact in my phone! I have not been disappointed by anything I've gotten here. My favorites include the Cajun steak tip sub (steak tips marinated in hot sauce, with bacon, cheddar cheese, blue cheese dressing, sign me up!), the Greek pizza, and the nacho waffle fries. Had their chicken wings last night and they are HUGE... I have a pretty big appetite and was completely full after 6 of them. The Sweet Home Alabama sauce was yummy. My friend has had the salads and they are HUGE. All ingredients are fresh as well. I usually get take away but it's really cute inside and has a nice eat-in atmosphere. They put effort into decor. Also, the nacho waffle fries taste better fresh :)

I came to south Boston to visit a friend and celebrate the Red Sox winning the World Series. My friend had suggested a few restaurants but all were too crowded. We went to yelp and saw great reviews for the Avenue! Boy were they right! We went with 5 of our friends and ordered a feast. There are so many options on the menu it was hard to choose a few items, thus us getting 6 dishes! The service was great and offered a very home-ie feel while waiting for you're order. The wait time was also very brief, within 20 minutes we had all orders. Lastly the food was amazing! Overall I loved the Avenue and will definitely go there next time!

I must say there isn't many places you could get some good eating around the polish triangle, everything is mediocre at best and this place fits right in. We ordered nachos and a buffalo "no sauce pizza"...well the nachos were as dry as dry can be with hardly any toppings, I want to say the worst I've had yet. The buffalo pizza tasted alright not the best and not the worst but it did not come sauceles like advertised! Everything was dissapointing, I might give them another try some day..maybe not

I came here yesterday after trying to go to the Sugar Bowl. I didn't have any cash on me and didn't feel like freezing further in the slush to try and find an ATM so I ducked across the street to this place. I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla and waited by a window for my order to come out. It wasn't busy, at all, in the place.. but my food still took close to a half hour to come out and the staff wasn't very communicative about how long it would take when I placed my order. The quesadilla was more like a sauceless tortilla pizza than a quesadilla.. the cheese was melted over the top and the chicken was stuffed inside. It was pretty tasty but the thing could have fed 4 people.. I could definitely see myself coming in here with a couple of friends after a night of shenanigans to help settle the stomach. It wasn't phenomenal or special, but definitely filling. I gave up trying to bring my leftovers home and ended up giving half of the quesadilla to a bum I saw catching some sleep t the T station nearby.

We hadn't been since they changed ownership, partly because the menu looked like a cheap pizza/sub shop. But after reading some positive reviews here on Yelp, we thought we'd try it. I'm glad we did! First of all, the waffle fries were awesome! Hot, crisp, well seasoned and a healthy portion. Served on a plate, but not greasy at all. Clean tasting fry oil. I'd say we'll be back just for those. I got the chicken/avacdo/bacon panini and the chicken was grilled fresh right there BEFORE it was put in the panini. Wow - steaming hot and moist. My wife got the Prusciutto/Mozz/Tomato Panini. At first she was a little concerned the cheese wasn't melted, until it was apparent that the meat was cooked up before being put in the sandwich. She loved the hot, salty Prusciutto in contrast to the cold, almost sweet Mozz and Tomato. And most dangerous of all, free delivery. I'm sure we'll be back.

Good wine list. Good food. They have reliable, familiar dishes, but also try to mix it up with some creative ingredients in their specials. I had some delicious pork chops with figs and apple. One was dinner, the other I took home for lunch the next day. The chicken tortellini was good, too. Friendly service. Cozy place with lots of locals who all seem to know each other and the owners. For lunch they have great specials.

Solid pizza. Ordered Supreme sans green pepper tonight and impressed. Good flavor and good crust. No skimping on ingredients. I eat a lot and on their medium could only finish 2/3 of it. Saved rest for morning. Delivery in timeframe I was told on phone when ordered. Would order from here if staying at same hotel again.

I've ordered a chicken burrito roll-up from this place a few times. Not too shabby. This review is based solely on this one item, for what it is worth. I haven't tried anything else, though I've been told by neighbors that their pizza is very good.

SO I am always on the hunt for places that actually DELIVER in Dot.. and this place recently joined the list and I had to try. We got a burger, a panini and 3 count em 3 orders of walffle fries ( made up like nachos) . It def was a lot to choose from just looking at the menu ( almost overwhelming) but still I enjoyed the selection. Burger: asked for it Medium well, and it came out a little dry. It was tasty Angus however, and the bun was big fluffy and bakery fresh. Panini: I got a greek one with chicken, feta and black olive. Very juicy and tender chicken breast, but there wasnt enough feta for the insane feta enthusiast I am. Waffle fries: BOMBDIGGITY ! I have a secret place in my heart reserved for waffle fries so I was pretty much sold before they even arrived, but they were really great. I may pass on the ground beef next time because it was again a little on the dry side, but the flavor was all there. I am looking forward to dining in at this place because the staff seemed very nice and polite on the phone and the driver was all smiles. I'll be back!!

I have been going to Avenue Grill for about a year now and i just love their food. Even though i usually eat 2 items from the menu, these dishes are always made to perfection, and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Another thing i like about this place is the service, for a pizza shop they have a service of a restaurant. You have an option of taking food out or you can simply grab a table and someone will come to you and take your order and later bring it to your table and also check on the food after a minute. Ladies do not be fooled for a pizza shop they do offer many healthy/ lean options like salads and various wraps loaded with super fresh veggies. Prices are also very reasonable.

The pizza was soaked in oil, I had to wipe it all off which took me at least 2 minutes, poor service, the place looks dead...

My entire apartment, and anyone who has ever stayed over our place has had the treat of avenue grill. This place has amazing service, amazing food, love their buff. chicken waffle fries. If your new to the neighborhood, you need to try this place out!

Disclaimer...I've only had take out from here and it's only been the junk food. The nachos and waffle fries are both really freakin good, especially when you have a hang over. The delivery is quick (and free), the people are friendly, and the menu is big. Good stuff!

Amazing!!! Pizzas, salads, macaroni and chesse, they are all incredible. Anything you get at this place will blow your socks off.

Good food here. Great specials too. The pizza is not to greasy and is a nice change from the NY style pizza at Pantry Pizza right up the street. very friendly service too. good for sit down, take out, or delivery.

I would never waste time writing a review on a sandwich shop, because to me they are all the same. This place is different. I own a body shop in the general area of this place, and heard it was good for lunch. We have ordered from here twice, and both times the food was awesome. I got a chicken wrap the first time and the steak wrap the second time. Both wraps were delivered, but still came tasting like it was just out of the kitchen, which was impressive. Highly reccomend for lunch.

Ode used to order after continuing to receive their menus in our door. We place the order and hat process wasn't the greatest. My wife had to repeat each line of the order. At the end she asked if they needed a name or were gulf a number and she was hung up on. We ordered 4 paninis (2xchicken avocado, 1 ham & cheese, and 1 prosciutto and mozzarella), an order of regular waffle fries, an an order of Cajun fries. Given the amount of food I waited 15 minutes to leave as we live 5 minutes away. When I walked in the girl behind he counter was on the phone taking an order and only glanced at me but in no way acknowledge me. I waited a minute and finally the guy running the place swung over and asked what I ordered. I told him "4 panini's and two orders of waffle fries". He poked his head back and said the order was almost up and it would be a few minutes. I said cool and proceeded to wait. And wait I did. 10 minutes (30 minutes after ordering) later he calls me over to the window to pay and then say "you said 4 panini's right?". I confirmed and he said there were only three. At this point the girl beholder counter who took the order gave me a disapproving look like there was no way she could have made a mistake. but the manager said he could have the other panini up in a few minutes...cue be waiting...again. It took another 10 minutes for the last panini to come up. I was called over to pay and there was no apology, discount, or anything. When I came home the sandwiches were all pretty good. The ham & cheese was solid, the chicken & avocado could have used more mayo or riper avocado as it was a bit dry but the flavors were there, but the clear winner was the prosciutto & mozzarella. It was almost perfect and would have been better if it were not sitting for 20-30 minutes while I waited. The fries on the other hand were a soggy mess so I had to fire up the oven to rewarm them and get them crispy. Once rewarmed there were really good and on par with other reviewers opinions on them. I am giving two starts because I believe the customer experience needs to be on par with the food. The girl behind the counter and the long wait killed my experience but the food was solid. It was obvious the guy running he place cared but it seemed as though he was by himself and their process was messed up. While I was waiting there was another group that order 3 sandwiches to eat in. Only one came out and he manager had to have the other two quickly made. If they get their process to match their food it would be a better experience and worth of 3-4 stars for a neighborhood sandwich/pizza restaurant. My finals words: go but only if you have time to wait

Avenue Grill is one of those places that is like a second home. Their Chicken Alfredo pizza is the best pizza in the city, hands down. The panini are great, especially their roasted red pepper and goat cheese. Great friendly atmosphere.

I have got delivery here about 10 times because the buffalo tenders are bomb but as I tried new things I realized they have a lot of gross food. they blacken all of the grilled chicken and it tastes gross. pizza sux too. all done here.

The Avenue Grille is pretty good. They have a new chef and have since changed the menu. I'm sad to see the old menu go. I loved the Pasta Mediterranean, but most of all I love how the crab cake sandwich is list on their web site. Classic!! Double Crap Cake Wich $11 Topped with beef steak tomatoes, melted provolone cheese, homemade roasted red pepper sauce

I'll give it 3 becuase they are usually on time with delivery and have pretty good food- but minus a couple stars for the bad experience I had the other day with an order. I ordered the Grilled Chicken dinner which comes with your choice of sauce and rice/fries or potato i think it is. I asked for the sweet alabama sauce which is soo tasty- and sadly my chicken arrived dry- with no sauce whatsoever. I also ordered the rice and it was definately left over as there were hard chunks and burnt parts probably scrapped from the bottom of the pan- ineddible. I did order the homeade chocolate cake which was good. Ive ordered from them in the past and havnt had any issues but was very dissapointed at this to-go order.

It's great having such a nice little restaurant around the corner. They have awesome steak tips and absolutely love the fried ravioli. The prices are reasonable and the service is great.

Everything, and I mean everything that I have had here has been amazing. Sweet home alabama sauce is to dieeeee forrrr. Salads are really fresh, but could use more dressing, just ask for more. Mac and cheese, OMG, so good. Steak and cheese, awesome. The quesadillas are the size of a small pizza and are yummy, but could be filled a little fuller, great for an app though. Onion rings are good. Waffle fries are ok but cheese was cold and hard when it arrived. Pita wraps are huge and awesome. Pizza is also really good. Definitely my go-to takeout place!!!!

I'm so glad this place is right around the corner. The salads are really good. My favorite is the summer salad; black olives, tomatoe, cucumbers, and chunks of feta cheese with balsamic. I'm a big fan. It costs close to 7 dollars for that, but in the end it's worth it. The sandwiches are also very tasty. Everything is fresh and delic.

After a poor first impression, we came back for brunch because we had a gift certificate. Service was warm and friendly, and nothing was over $8. Food was a hundred times better than last time and both of us cleaned our plates. I had the eggs benedict which is made with thinly shaved and piled ham instead of the typical thick Canadian bacon. This interpretation works well and adds texture to the dish. Home fries could be the best I ever had, perfectly crispy and scented with onion, so good I didn't need to ask for ketchup. Bf had toad in the hole which is a piece of Texas french toast hollowed out and filled with sausage and a poached egg. My food was so good I gobbled it like a hungry dog and didn't offer him any.

The food here is great! Nice choices and everything is very fresh! The folks there are truly great people! A nice neighboorhood spot.

I'd say they are the best overall take-out/delivery restaurant in Dorchester. They have edibles from greasy to healthy, and everywhere in between. I suggest getting a specialty pizza over a plain, old cheese pizza. Or try any of the multiple mac & cheese offerings. Only downside is the menu is VAST... so it might be overwhelming if you're indecisive.

Haven't been since it's closed and re-opened under new management with a new menu. Hope to try it out again and review soon after! Will try and keep my fellow Polish Triangle Yelpers posted!

The Avenue Grille is open again, but completely different. It was closed for about 2 weeks and has reopened by the by the owners of the Renaissance Cafe in Quincy. Completely different menu than before, but really good. Great pizza and subs. The menu is HUGE!!! It took me 20 mins just to decide what to order. It has been only been open a week, but I've had it twice and will definitely be going back. It is nice to have such a convenient place again, although I would have changed the name because the menu and atmosphere are so different. Seems like mostly take out, but that is fine by me and they also have free delivery. I miss the old Avenue and their out of this world eggplant, but this is a nice change. Hope people are willing to give it a chance.

While I am sure that Kevin was trying to be helpful to the Gay community in sharing information that we would all want to know, he is mistaken. My husband, son and I have been eating here at least once a week for over a year and I can tell you the owners are NOT bigots. Quite the opposite is true, I see many members of the GLBT community enjoying dinner at the Avenue right next to their fellow Dorchester neighbors in an environment that is welcoming, and where the staff know most of their guests on a first name basis. Beyond the atmosphere the food is always top notch, the wine selection is a great value for the price and the cakes are a MUST HAVE!

Love this family run restaurant. If you want to get to know Dorchester, stop by one night and watch all the locals interact. It's small, but the perfect size to get to know your neighbors and enjoy a great meal. Order any of their chicken dishes. I don't know what they marinate it in or how they prepare the chicken breasts, but they're flavorful and juicy. Great place for home cooking complete with mashed potatoes and sides of veggies. I almost don't want to let the secret out about their absolutely decadent chocolate cake. Frank Baker is the owner and he's married to Today Baker who is a yoga teacher in the area. They are such a beautiful family. Definitely recommend this place for the food as much as for the people!

Not too impressed. Went for lunch, I asked what soup the had. The waitress told me they had chicken and vegetable. After i ordered a cup, she told me they didnt have any. Then I ordered a Chicken salad BLT but she told me they had no bacon. I expected more. Maybe I'll try dinner.

This is one of my favorite Restaurants in the area. It has a wonderful menu and a good wine list. It's small with about 10 tables, but a lot of people do take out. If you're in the area I would suggest it.

My wife and I were looking for a place to eat within walking distance of the Courtyard Marriott. This place was extremely comfortable. The pizza was good and the service very friendly. Medium pepperoni pizza and two sodas for $12

I absolutely love this place - the staff is wonderful and the food is fantastic and yet will not break the bank. They offer pick-up service, which is wonderful, since I live around the corner and can enjoy their smashing food (the burgers are the best I've had, but the entire menu is one to salivate over). Just a couple blocks walk from the JFK/UMass T stop. Nice wine selection, too.

While I am a huge supporter of gay marriage, I believe tolerance cuts both ways, and that opposition to gay marriage is insufficient alone to categorize an individual or entire (very large) family as bigoted. I know the owner (who is related to but does not own the sugar bowl) and know that he is politically and otherwise materially active in our (Dorchester) community, working very hard to improve our neighborhood. I do not know of, and have not seen Kevin M. at the polls volunteering on behalf of Martin Walsh (who supports gay marriage), ad hoc lecturing of teenagers on the street about littering and pride in Dorchester, or advocating at our civic association meetings for increased police presence ...I do know of and have seen the owner of the Avenue Grill doing all these things. Deep engagement in the neighborhood makes this place a clear net positive to me, also the food is good, and the service and people serving are caring and friendly... I'd like it if they breaded their own chicken fingers...the ones they buy pre-breaded are way too salty!
