As an Italian-food-lover, I can say that I really do enjoy this restaurant. This is not a place I can pop over to as the drive from Michigan is a bit lengthy, but I was impressed after my first trip and excited when I got to go back. The lobster ravioli was stuck in my brain and really the standard that I compared lobster ravioli to back home. My biggest regret this past time was not ordering the bruschetta because I can say, hands down, it was the best I'd ever had. Who wants to send me the recipe?! Though my visits have been few, I've always been with a large group who was very pleasantly accommodated and the service was really great. Well done!!!

Great little gem that could easily be passed on Hwy 2. The interior is far more inviting. I ordered the eggplant pasta, it was ok. My colleagues however ordered meatball sandwich, full salad with chicken and fried calamari and those completely hit the spot for them.

Absolutely the worst service experience I've had in recent memory, hands down. I get seated. They come by 20 minutes later and ask if anyone has been by to check on me... I say no. A manager comes over finally and takes my order. A bus person comes I've after another lengthy delay and asks if I am being waited on since she's seen me here for quite a while. She apologizes and brings me water and some bread, apologizing and saying "at least now I have something to eat." Finally my wine shows up and shortly thereafter soup. The soup was piping hot and ok. A few minutes later a truly lackluster margherita pizza shows up, a really lousy representation of what you could have in the North End. Overall a memorably lousy experience. The good news is they comped the meal except the wine. They musta felt a little guilty... Stay away.

1st time ever there, wasn't at all what I expected , from the outside 1st impression it was a nice Italian place to grab some nice home cooking . It was way BETTER than I expected, a very nice , upper class restaurant. And the food was top notch, And that comes at a price ! Service was excellent. I got the lobster ravioli from a past yelp review, was great , 6 stuffed ravioli 's and that's it , no soup or salad for $22 . Salad was 8.50 , enough for two and Margarita was 10, and excellent ! Just a little pricey in my book , for a special occasion well worth it !

I've lived in Concord for 25 years - I was here when papa razzi opened and have seen all the different mgmt changes etc. papa razzi has always just been Ok but in the last year it has progressively just gotten gross. Tonight I couldn't eat anything I ordered. Salad had wilted, frozen awful lettuce, spaghetti was smothered in canned crushed tomatoes (yuck) and pizza tastes like cardboard - I would give this place a zero but I couldn't - blech!

The outside facade screams cheap chain restaurant with microwaved premade food or just very mediocre (being kind) Americanized poorly cooked food. I enter and am pleasantly surprised that in fact it is a big step up from what I had anticipated based on the flashy name and gaudy facade. While not completely sophisticated the decor and ambiance was nice, soft ambient lighting, nice booths, a huge lit fireplace and candles at the table with decent white linen and silverware. Our waiter, Jason, was very attentive and did a great job of being there when needed and was proactive as far as anticipating things allowing for a smooth dining experience. He even gave us a most delicious caramel sea salt Gelato on the house. AWESOMENESS! The food was not bad, swordfish special was best dish, pastas were decent even if a little overpriced and just slightly too al dente. Caprese was good as was bruschetta, and bread. 5.5 stars for service and ambiance, 4 ish for food and value so 5 over all. Nice selection of wines by the glass and half glass.

I can definitely see why the reviews are lackluster at best for this location. The service is slow, inattentive, and subpar for Concord and the pricing here. 20 minutes to wait for a drink and bread. That is ridiculous. Especially when you see us here with small children. Also, sticking your face into front of our food, interrupting us while we are obviously chewing to ask how the food is just asinine. How are we supposed to answer you with our mouths full. Papa Razzi in Acton has a fun vibe and an interesting menu. That being said they can learn a lot of about waitering from some of the better italian restaurants in the North End. Pizza is definitely your best option here.

Dinner with the family was nice. They have good options for the kids and adults alike. For us gluten sensitive folk they offer GF pizza and pasta in addition to the usuals salmon and chicken dishes. My GF chicken piccata with asparagus risotto was good. Ask for the GF roll to accompany the breadsticks and focaccia bread. Our server Jeff was helpful and pleasant. When in the mood for Italian, this is a nice option. Dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids with a few adult beverages and digestif treats was about 110 after tip. We left feeling like it was money well spent on a nice evening out.

Nice place to stop for lunch when cutting through Rt 2. The food is usually solid. I always enjoy eating at the bar and watching the cooks in the open kitchen. Started with a spice infused olive oil and really nice focaccia bread. I had the orricetta w sausage and broccoli rabe. Very good although the white sauce was a little watery, so I couldn't finish it off with the bread :) The white wine sauce looked very similar to my co-worker's, who had a clam dish. I've had fish and pizzas during past visits that were much better but overall a pretty good meal.

Not the first time I've been here, but definitely the last. Salad was inedible. It tasted like it just came out of a freezer and had almost no dressing on it. It shouldn't have been a problem to get more salad dressing, but the wait (Davi), never bothered to come back to the table until the entrees were served. I've had great chicken parmesan, average chicken parm and ... not so great chicken parm. PapaRazzi reached a new low. It was mostly bread crumbs, over-cooked in lousy oil, without any redeeming qualities. MacDonald's chicken nuggets would have been an upgrade. The Pasta? Under cooked angel hair (how is that even possible?), with a sauce that would rate 3 steps below Ragu Chunky. In comparison to PapaRazzi, Olive Garden or Carabba's would be considered gourmet Italian and that's a scary thought!

The mushroom risotto was yummy and our waiter was very attentive! He offered extra mushrooms in the dish after I expressed my love for them. On Mondays all entrees are $15.99 and for a few more dollars each you can add a salad and/or glass of the house wine. The food could have been more flavorful and the big room with the fireplace was a little loud when sitting in the center but I would definitely go back.

Service is always excellent. Food prepared fresh and always top notch. The menu is wide and varied and they will prepare off menu dishes upon request. The go to restaurant locally for a consistently excellent meal.

We hesitated choosing this restaurant due to the poor reviews... though I have had solid takeout from the Burlington location. My assertions prevailed and we gave it a shot. Picked the Concord location due to convenience... lost a star due to the overall inconsistencies... Waitstaff was overly interested in conversation, yet failed to deliver on timely offerings of bread - had to ask, ordering food - had to ask a different waiter. Why the four stars you ask? The food. Bread - if you are trying to go carb-free you are going to be challenged... Its like a focaccia that has been lightly pan fried in olive oil with a side of chili oil and it is soooooo good. Meals we ordered: Chicken piccata, chicken marsala, lobster ravioli, filet mignon, bolognese. I tried each and everyone... delicious.... and came out perfectly timed... we had the eggplant rollatini for an appetizer sooo good... Due to our licenses (she noticed one out of two birthdays) being checked for wine the waitress offered two free desserts yet charged us for one of these "free" desserts for $10... we would not have ordered two if she had not told us she was giving us two free birthday desserts, so that also contributed to the loss of a star. All in all, avoid the large dining room if you actually want to talk to the people you are with the acoustics are awful... opt for the tables around the bar or make the drive to Burlington.... then the food is solid 4 out of 5. I personally cannot wait to order a surprise takeout for me and the boyfriend because the pasta and bread were really that good.

Terrible experience! To sum up all the issues: 1. Had to wait 15 minutes for our table, despite having a reservation 2. Waldo was easier to find than our waitress. Had to visit the maitre d' to track her down 3. Had to ask for water twice. We were there almost 15 minutes without any 3. Main dishes took 1 hour to arrive at our table. With a toddler, this created a major issue 4. My husband's salad was clearly dressed quite a while before being served - it was completely soggy 5. I asked for extra veggies in my pasta and didn't get any, and I asked for no cheese or dairy and the kitchen put in the cheese anyway Never again. Heed my and other reviews. AVOID THIS PLACE! Go to another Papa Razzi location if you're dying for their food (Burlington staff was very good during my last experience).

We were supposed to go to Sprig but our sales guy forgot to check and they weren't open on Monday. I got the call on the way up that we switched to here...ugh, that sux. So first strike is that we're seated at this weird, half circle table with me on a chair at the opening. It's a work event and this was a bit awkward. Our waiter comes up and gives the spiel on everything freshly sourced (seriously? - I love frozen crap) and flexible menu. After the first 20 seconds, he mysteriously turned into Charlie Brown's teacher. At these work type meetings, it's good for us to get drinks and then chit chat with the doc for 20 minutes to hear his needs. Our server, Dudley Doright, apparently didn't get that memo and dropped by three times with an interruption to see if we were ready to order. I chose to go with the seafood special (mussels and calamari? special?) and substituted spicy pomodoro and ziti. I'm imagining the kitchen looks like a Henry Ford production line and the food is assembled and not cooked. The dish was OK but really didn't impress me. Again, never let the sales guys pick the venue and kids, we've got much better Italian in the Boston area than this. Olive Garden on steroids.

Fancyschmancy. In my opinion, Italian isn't hard to do well, but difficult to do excellent. The food borders on well to excellent. We were flopped between waiters, both peered down their noses at us - a little condescending, still professional, but impersonal. Food was good, border line great, but you pay for it.

  • Tracy D.

The only reason I gave it two stars is because the server Stacy was good ! The food was horrible! I ordered PENNE CON POLLO ... It wasn't fresh chicken at all. it was breaded chicken that was probably left from the previous evening. The asparagus was not existent tiny crumbs .. Not even bite sized ! The tortelloni ALL'ARAGOSTA was a joke and also had tiny little pieces of canned or pre frozen Lobster. The grilled shrimp appetizer was even terrible. Ate one and left the rest. I hadn't been in a few years and boy was I surprised at the decline in quality ! Its nothing but a glorified fast food chain.

Great lunch menu, perfect place for large groups. Our holiday party was here, and it can over whelm a lot of restaurants to have a large party while they're already busy. We got a bunch of apps for the table, the best we tried was by far the calamari. Great crunch, and flavor to the light breading. The pressed meatball sandwich was really good, and the french fries were terrific. They did a great job keeping up with the group despite that they were slammed. I'll for sure come back to try their dinner.

From the start, our rather "odd" waitress was just not friendly. We all noticed it and she simply lacked something that made us feel welcome or any type of friendliness. We let it slide and waited patiently for our entrees to arrive. Well one of the two woman at the table next to us got up and went to the ladies room (or somewhere) and was gone for a while. It seemed like it was our waitresses responsibility to entertain the other woman sitting there by talking incessantly. We sat there waiting for our meals, trying to have a conversation only to find ourselves attempting to talk OVER the waitress! She went on and on and on. We were all beside ourselves. I started making comments loudly to maybe distract her from her conversation. No luck. My wife spoke up VERY loudly trying distract her by saying how rude it was for the waitress to show no consideration for other patrons while she rants along... It was really impossible for the three of us to talk to each other while she projected her voice quite a distance. After a while we started to wonder if our food was getting cold on the line as she continued on. Eventually someone from the back decided our food sat long enough and brought out our food before it got cold. Her yacking continued. About another 5 minutes later, my mother turned around and politely yelled out "Excuse me, we're trying to eat and talk and you're making it impossible!" Finally she gets the hint. Thank god! On our way out we spoke with the hostess and another woman who were very apologetic, yet were not completely surprised. Apparently she rants on from the kitchen and annoys them also. Not sure she even introduced herself and provided her name, but I suspect that's a good thing as I'd be stating it here. Our brunch menu's were excellent and served as ordered, however she really ruined what could have been a great lunch with my wife and mother.

Possibly the best place to get gluten free pizza in the Boston suburbs. I love this place. Take out or eat in, it is always great. The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. Great for dates or casual dining. I am gluten free. They have gluten free pizza, pasta, dinner rolls.... All of which are great. They are very knowledgable about gluten free requests and the manager will deliver your food. The mark of a great gluten free pizza is when you become concerned that they accidentally brought you a regular pizza. Trust me, I've had to ask many times. It is amazing how GREAT it is! Only complaint is that they like to go light on the toppings, but that can easily be fixed with a request. I love this place and will keeping making the 40 minute drive from Malden!

Food good but the waitress sucks. She's had my debit card for 20 minutes. Came back after 10 minutes and asked me if the debit card was my card?? Like I stole it?? Wtf?? My daughter is crawling all over me. Then I ask for a manager and he says she lost my card?? So she lost it a 2nd time and neither manager not her can come over and tell me?? Manager said he looked at my Bene card and shows I have over 100 visits to Paparazzi restaurants. VIP

Papa Razzi Concord: 3 person birthday brunch 1. Upon being seated: The plates and one of the glasses were NOT clean: public health concern: manager notified. He said there "may have been a problem with the dishwasher" At that point we should have left. 2. There were only 2 other patrons in the entire dining room. The second we sat down, as I was putting my sister's gifts on the table, the server came up to the table so fast and starting clearing the 4th place setting, I was so stunned, I thought she was removing the gifts. 3. Service: Orders wrong: frittatas ordered, 2 of us received pizzas 4. Food: Greasy, overly salty, pasta tasted like it was leftover with hamburg sauce and chicken was so salty as if it was preserved because it was old, grilled potatoes mushy, tasted old: definatley NOT a heart healthy place 5. No attempt made by server or manager to comp a portion of the bill 6. Will never return

We had eaten here before and the food and service was ok but not today! Three of us met for a birthday lunch. Started out with dishes on the table which were not properly washed. Appetizer was fine and chicken and two fruit pizzas arrived. Problem was we had ordered fritattas. When the frittatas arrived they were almost inedible - way too salty. The chicken dish was cold. With the problem with the dishes and wrong food order I would have expected a manager to be involved and probably expected some part of the bill reduced. We will vote with our feet and not come here again.

It is too bad. This place has gone down a steep hill. Recently, we waited an hour to get salads when a couple who in came after got their hot meals first. Strange. The foccacia was STONE cold. I asked that the waiter take them back. Foccacia should come out of the oven, not the fridge. One time my lettuce was frozen, no lie. I have had the manager come to our table many times and each time I give them a chance to get back on their feet. It is not like they are crazy busy when these things happen..... Get better, Papprazzi in Concord... Nina

This is our goto italian spot especially for takeout. The food is delicious.. The portions are hearty... The chicken parm is my favorite and everything here is always consistent. For our neck of the woods this is as good as it gets. The food is very good and the people are not pretentious. We like it here. When dining in the service can be iffy but as far as takeout in this area this is 4-5 stars all the way.

Not impressed! EVER!!! This was about my tenth time eating there in the last five years. This is also my last time. I ordered the Squid... It was good and went downhill quickly from there. The Monday special was Lasagna... Not good, bitter. The tiramisu was flavorless. And why could we not get our drinks refilled? This was a disapointing visit. I definately hope I never have to return. My co-workers always drag us there because it is close to the Best Western.

Took my girlfriend there for her first time. Seated at an extremely small table but that is the layout so we were fine with it. The waitress came over to fill out water glasses. She filled my girlfriends fully but mine only half full due to not having enough. She said she would return to fill it but did not. We ordered our food, I got the veal parmigiana and a bowl of pasta e fagioli. The soup never came out and I received chicken parmigiana instead of veal. When I brought this up to the waitress she told me that I ordered the chicken. I was not going to argue with her about this but come on, chicken and veal do not sound remotely alike so there is no way she should have gotten it wrong. I also had a beer with my dinner and ordered a second which also never arrived. I simply asked her for the bill when we were done eating and with all of those issues all she said to us was that she was going to pay for a dessert for us to split if we wanted. That is just ridiculous. Overall a poor experience on what I thought was going to be a wonderful evening out.

Quality of food has declined over the years. New menu is smaller. Focaccia bread served cold. Would be better warm. I would prefer plain olive oil for bread dipping, or a choice - instead it was only spiced olive oil. The orricetta w/sausage and rabe was undercooked - not just al dente, but really undercooked. The shrimp with polenta had only five shrimp and the polenta was bland - more like cream of wheat. Cesear salad: dressing was bland, not much in the way of croutons, and without anchovies. Tiramisu portion size was OK but taste bland. Wine prices higher than before. We paid $26 for a HALF BOTTLE of Pinot Grigio. Service staff was attentive. Average age younger now than before, so risk of getting under-trained and less menu-informed wait staff probably higher. Table was cleared appropriately. We did not feel rushed. In the old days, one of the wait-staff managers would stop by the table to ask how the meal was going. This simple practice helps with quality control. This time, did not see this at our or any other table.

The staff here was so friendly and the food was amazing, our server Marisa helped us choose the perfect entrees which were just what we expected. We will definitely be back, even on a Saturday night we got right in with out reservation via open table, and the food didn't take long at all. We didn't feel rushed, we felt very welcome.

3.5 Stars. Around Albany there are a bunch of Italian places that has food that is better than Papa Razzi, but it's good Italian. I like their sauces are all made to order. I like that their portions are more reasonable. Food- 3.5 Stars Good Italian food, nothing over the top. I like their Bolognese. Their apps are kinda meh from what I have had. Their stuff tastes fresh. Atmosphere- 4 Stars. Nice inside, gives a good feel. Drinks- 3.5 Stars. Decent beers, pretty solid wine menu. Service- 4 Stars. Never had poor service or anything near it.

This location is right across from where I work (again). I swear these pop up by all the office parks. I like this place because it always looks classy inside and the food is pretty consistent. My favorites are the Insalata di Charles and the salmon farfalle for lunch. The service here is almost always exceptional. We had a company dinner here earlier this year and they gave us a ton of food and always walked around asking if we wanted more drinks. It was a very pleasant evening. Apparently they do not open for lunch until 11:30am and I had a meeting I needed to get back for at noon. They let us sit down at 11:15am, told the kitchen to prepare for our Insalata di Charles with grilled salmon, and brought the check immediately without asking. I was surprised at how gracious and accommodating they were and left a generous tip. The service really does make a difference!

Visited restaurant on Sun night for an early dinner. We used to go to the Paparazzi quite often. This time though it was a big disappointment. The menu is a one-sided sheet of paper with a far fewer dishes than it was before. For a party of 4 people, they brought 2 pieces of focaccia bread and 3 thin breadsticks. No butter. No plates to land your bread on. We ordered a Caesar salad with anchovies on a side. The salad came without the anchovies. When asked, they were to come right away separately (?). They did appear approximately 20 min. later. Pollo Alla Valdostana, which I ordered came with roasted potatoes and 2 large shrubs of broccoli. Neither chicken nor broccoli was impossible to cut with a regular knife. The chicken especially was very stiff. Both chicken and broccoli were cold. Only roasted potatoes were eatable. The same story was with my friend's choice of the Pollo Picatta, i.e. cold and stiff. We asked for steaks' knives. It was hard to cut chicken even with those. Cappuccino coffee came in small cups without saucers. They were not mugs, but small (demitasse) cups that are usually served with a saucer. Some of us ordered the second cup of cappuccino - same size cups appeared but this time with saucers. This tells me about absence of standards and a worked out procedures of service. The service itself was pleasant on the sides of smiles, but there was no anticipation of clients' needs or attention to details. I know that Paparazzi is not a fancy restaurant, but here in Concord, we are used to a certain level of food and service in this restaurant. Not anymore. I was so surprised that on our way out, Is topped at the hostess station to inquire if the restaurant changed hands or acquired a new management. Yes, they did changed hands. Do not belong to a company in RI but to someone else. They named the company that bought them but I do not remember who and where from. The main thing - we will be looking ofr some place else. No coming back to Paparazzi in Concord anymore.

I'm still in the dark as to why this place was so packed on a Monday night. Located on Route 2, it's not exactly a bustling downtown location, and even being next to a Best Western can't explain the packed dining room. I can tell you, though, it's not because of the food or the service. The food was meh; my pasta was overcooked and the meat was a bit rubbery. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes, but I didn't hear any exclamations of delight. The food alone would've rated three stars; however, the service - or lack thereof - drops them down a star. Not sure what was going on, but I would see our waiter walk into the dining room, look over at our table where were clearly waiting to give our orders/have our plates taken/give dessert orders/ask for the check... and then walk away. Where was he going? I could understand if they had weird zones of service but he never seemed in a hurry, or was attending to other tables. I even gave him an opportunity to show his stuff by asking for a recommendation on a glass of white wine. All he did was point me towards the pino grigio, of which there were three. How helpful. I am glad that I will not have to return to this place.

I kept hearing great things about Papa Razzi, but one bad experience a few months ago at the Concord location was more than enough to turn me off from ever wanting to return... It took THREE times to get my meal correct, which almost had nothing to do with my ordering gluten free. (Although my lactose intolerance would not have been happy with the cream sauce that incorrectly showed up the first time vs the marinara I ordered). The bartender was quite rude about the wrong orders and kept trying to blame me, saying it was my fault for changing my order. Much appreciation to the kind person sitting next to me who whispered to me that perhaps he should have been paying attention to what I ordered, since she heard me give him the exact same order each time. The bartender also came across as not really having heard of gluten free or lactose intolerant. Normally that would not phase me, but when the menu states "Gluten-free pasta, pizza and other items available upon request", you kind of expect the servers to know their menu and to hopefully be somewhat educated on it...or at least know who to ask. I called management from my cell on my way home to share my experience. They were pretty much in denial what I described could have just occurred in their restaurant and said a manager gets involved any time someone orders gluten free. Not that I expected them to, but that certainly did NOT occur in this case. Food was just ok to me, especially after all of that, and definitely seemed overpriced for a bowl of pasta (even before the gf add).

Best Raviolis I have ever had in my life. I would definitely go back just for the lobster ravioli. Wine flights were very good. Dessert was amazing too. Service was pretty good. It was a very busy Wednesday night. Atmosphere was loud.

Had the special pasta, clams and sausage this past week. The pieces of sausage were microscopic!!! It seemed as a accountant created this dish with a eye on profits. Is there a sausage shortage in the USA now? The owners are paying for the childrens college education with this dish. I emailed the the web site and never heard back from them.....what a surprise as they obviously could care less about offering value to customers by offering this "special"...........

I've been in here several times in the past 2 years. It's always fairly crowded but I'm a bit mystified at the popularity of the place. Let's start with the bar, since most of the time that's where I eat and drink. You may as well skip the mixed drinks and go straight to beer. Twice I've ordered Gin and Tonic. And I get a really nice looking glass, but unfortunately I've yet to detect any actual Gin in these drinks. And at $9 a pop that gets me a little bit peeved. If you're not going to put alcohol in then at least have the decency to charge 4 or 5 bucks. You're stealing twice with this move. I'm so peeved in fact, that I'm dissing this place in passing in some of my other reviews. Mess with my drink, will you? The food's not bad. I often had the Monday special, Lasagne, which is tasty and quite filling. The salad and bread sides are the usual fare. I recommend whatever it was that had fennel in it as a cut above. The service is a mixed bag. It bears repeating: the young female bartender does not know how to make a mixed drink. Or possibly Management has trained her to just wave the bottle in front of a glass (a very nice looking glass) filled with ice and tonic. I see others here complimenting a female bartender. Either we're talking about two different bartenders, or they intentionally stiff non-regulars. If I want a tonic and tonic I'll order a tonic and tonic. I'm paying for a GIN and tonic so put some freakin' GIN in it! If you're visiting from out of town, well, you could do worse in this area. Most of the folks I've talked to while at the Bar seemed to be visitors. And last time I was in there a few weeks ago the first thing I said to the Guy next to me was "skip the cocktails!' I'll leave you with that as my most lasting impression of the place.

Dont bother as they could care less about your business. Stopped in for meal at bar - worst bartending staff ever. They couldnt be bothered and had no interest in engaging anyone at the bar. Ordered dinner but made to feel like why was i interrupting them; when meal came NO ONE followed up to see how it was, did I need anything - all I got asked was "are you done?" and plate taken away. If the bartending staff has this little tolerance for customers, go take your business to someplace that will appreciate it as it wont be with the bartending staff today (monday august 13).

Went to this place regularly, food was always good but the service was every time different. Last time I did go with family, the service was just horrible. The waiter threw the bread on everyones plate, that is just one example, I could go on and on.

Given that there are so few restaurants in Concord, I have eaten here many times. Though it was a chain, it was consistent. And they had a few items on the menu that I really liked, e.g., Chicken Caesar, Chicken Parm. Then they sold the chain, and under the new ownership/management, the service and the food have gone way downhill. They used to have a hospitality heart. Now the management is terse and unfriendly. The food has ranged from mediocre to uncooked. Bums me out as there are not a lot of restaurants to go to as alternatives.

Every time we drive by this place, Mr K says the same thing: "We've lived in the area so long and it's amazing we haven't eaten here." Ok. Tonight was the night. We called to make a reservation for 8:00, got to the place on time, and weren't seated til 8:45. It would have been cool if Lady Gaga came by to take our order, but instead, our waitress was a little unkempt and not easy on the eyes. She was sweating profusely, a big turnoff to me. No server should be sweating. Mr K and I nicknamed her the "Drive-thru Waitress." She walked by our table, practically flung the skinny breadsticks on the table as she walked by (didn't look up, etc.), and did the same with the waters and later, the appetizer plates and bill. We had to ask several times for the warm Focaccia bread, which was outstanding and the best part of the meal. She gave us one small slice and later, Mr K asked for a second slice. She was guarding this bread as if it were gold. Our order included fried calamari with hot peppers, lemon, and white wine; wood-roasted salmon with crisp potatoes and spinach; and seafood fra diavolo special with salmon, mussels, and scallops over linguini. The hot peppers were REALLY hot, and the calamari was nice and crispy. My salmon was ok, but I had substituted broccoli for the spinach and the order came with spinach anyway. The seafood dish was good, except that there was only a tiny piece of salmon on it and a few scallops and a limited amount of linguini. The establishment has a bar, which closes at 1 a.m. every night. Dinner ends at about 11. Service was 2 stars, and the meal was 3.5. Three stars is about right for the whole shebang. We'd come back at some point, but not tomorrow.

I stop in here every other month or so for a drink. Fabiana is so sweet!! She makes an amazing drink, no matter what you have. The only downfall is a guy that seems to always be there on the night I stop in. He obviously has quite the affection for her, but he is annoying as hell. Not her fault, but man he is annoying! Drinks are great.. hope to get in earlier for something off the menu.

We've been going to Papa Razzi in Concord since it opened many years ago. The food, service, and atmosphere are great. I estimate we've eaten there about 100 times and we've never been disappointed. And yes, we are fussy and demanding diners.

This was a very usual stop for my family, until my most recent meal. We have usually gotten ok service, and an overpriced ok meal from this place. Tonight, my wife asked for a booth, and the hostess replied to her very rudely that all of the booths were reserved, and proceeded to plant them in a back room. When I arrived, I ordered the beef carpaccio and a caesar salad. In the past it had been good. The beef came out fine. My salad however had a nice sized bug in it. I discovered this after eating half of it. It took 5 min to wave down our server. We were offered a free dessert... I don't think we will be returning any time soon. Over priced, snooty service, ok at best food, and bugs....

I came here this week on the way home from a Sox game. At 3:30 in the afternoon, my brother and I were one of the only groups of patrons. Although the exterior of the restaurant leaves something to be desired, I was pleasantly surprised by the inside. It was classier than I expected, with gleaming dark wood tables, crisp white tablecloths, and soft lighting. I felt out of place my Pedroia shirt and jeans, but everyone else there was casually dressed. Our waiter, Josh, was exceptionally nice. He immediately brought us a basket of bread sticks and some focaccia. Both were great! The focaccia was warm, buttery, and crispy around the edges. As an entree, I had the Risotto du Jour, which happened to be risotto with butternut squash, green beans, and cranberries and a sprinkling of gorgonzola. I had a choice of meat to go along with the dish, and I chose the salmon. I wasn't sure that I'd like the risotto, but it ended up being really good. I enjoyed the sweetness of the cranberries and squash alongside the buttery flavor of the risotto. The green beans didn't add much to the dish, but they didn't detract from it, either. The sharp contrast between the gorgonzola and cranberries was unexpectedly enjoyable as well. However, the salmon was not well done. It, too, came with a topping of gorgonzola, but it was still boring. Other than the cheese and some pepper, the salmon didn't have any seasoning. It didn't taste thoroughly cooked, either; the middle of it was slimy. This was not impressive in the least. I think Papa Razzi could do better if they served smoked salmon with the risotto instead. After the yummy risotto, such a plain piece of fish is a letdown. My brother really liked his dish, the chicken parmigiana. The piece of chicken he got was thin, but it was huge! It took up at least 60% of the plate. He had no complaints whatsoever, and even though he made a good dent in his meal, he had a lot left to take home. Overall, I have a so-so impression of Papa Razzi. Some things are good, some not so good . . . I guess it would be a good choice if you're passing by and you're hungry, but I wouldn't put it on a list of must-try restaurants in the area.

Perched in a rather crummy location (off Rte 2 and across from Concord MCI), Papa Razzi is nonetheless worth the trip. Yes, even if you have to go around that goddamn rotary. Personally, I prefer Papa Razzi for lunch and even though it isn't the cheapest option in town, the food is tasty and you will leave full. The complimentary grissini and focaccia are really tasty. The grissini is served with butter which I find odd since I am not sure how to use it (do I dunk the grissini in?) and I expect an olive oil to be served in Italian restaurants. Oh well. Occasionally, the focaccia will come straight from the oven still on the tray. This causes mixed feelings in me. On one hand, I know that the bread is fresh. On the other hand, they usually only give you one piece. What the hell is Italian about a normal serving size? On my last visit, my mother and I had a great server: Alex. He was prompt, knowledgeable and really friendly. He kinda just swooped in from the periphery whenever we needed something yet didn't lurk. Mysterious. Maybe he was a ghost server! Eh. Probably not. As is to be expected, lunch portions are smaller. But that doesn't mean they aren't satisfying. I am happy to declare that I emerged victorious from Lauren v. Panini Polpeta. Hmmph! Chump. Great for lunch if you are in the area. If you stop by, bring me a handful of the mints by the door, they are ghetto-looking but surprisingly delicious.

I've been going to Papa Razzi for many many years, Wellesley, Chestnut Hill, Boston but this Concord location has let me down the two times I have tried it. I really like the ambiance and drinks and the service isn't the issue, it's the food. Both times I had the pasta, once the weekly special Penne Polpetta Al Forno (meatballs with Cheese). It was overcooked so the cheese was no longer melted but more of a solid state. This dried out the sauce too. This last time I tried the regular Spaghetti Alla Vitello Polpetta and was equally disappointed. This time I sent it back because the pasta and the sauce were so dry like it had spent most of the evening under the heat lamp. The "fresh" dish was better but not perfect. The pasta tasted like whole wheat, do they serve this by default or upon request?

Every time I'm back in Concord visiting the fam, I eat and drink here frequently. It's the best bar setting in the area and the staff is always at least decent - have had some great ones, some not so much. Food's always good, too... I usually go for the mozarella fritta, caesar salad, beef carpaccio, or calamari to start, and then one of the pastas or the filletto balsamico. The one complaint I have, and it is consistently annoying, is a bit of rigidity. Maybe its the corporate management (owned by Back Bay Restaurant Group) or a bit of Concord upittyness - either way, the staff seems restrained and unwilling loosen up and connect in any way, and the drinks are measured to a tee, sometimes coming out small or way overpowered with mixer. They almost won't serve a proper drink - I ordered an old fashioned and it came out filled to the top with soda, and a candied cherry in it!! That said, they are responsive if you tell them exactly how you want the drink made, and I still go all the time!!

People really seem to have a bone to pick with this place! I was really surprised when I read all the poor reviews. I visited this location for the first time last night and enjoyed it very much. I will say up front the one beef I have with this place is the portion size. As another reviewer said, the dishes are what you would expect for a lunch portion, but at dinnertime prices. That said, the prices were also a bit on the high side, and coupled with the small portions equals "meh" on the value scale. On the other hand, the food and service were excellent. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and kept our drinks filled. These are my minimum requirements for great service, which is often hard to come by these days. But our server passed with flying colors. Food was excellent. I liked the light crispy breadsticks and even moreso the herby foccacia with chili oil. A nice start. My husband had the Bucatini all' Amatriciana, which he said had just a little heat and was cooked perfectly al dente. He enjoyed the dish very much, and only wished there had been more on his plate. I had the Cavatappi Affumicati. What really stood out was the smoked mozzarella, which added a nice level of flavor to the dish. Mine was also cooked al dente and tasted great. Overall, it's a balance between good food and service vs. smaller portions and higher prices, which seems to be the case at most Papa Razzi's. I would visit this location again as it is convenient for me, but I wouldn't rank it as a place to visit often.

I eat here twice a month for dinner mostly. Sometimes it's business, other times just casual dining. Over the past few months they have really tried and succeeded at "upscaling" the feel of the place: more attentive staff, appropriate management interaction and when necessary intervention, etc. I don't think the behavior is perfunctory and one or two anecdotal situations have underscored my thinking. All in all, the food was fresh and tasty, it was delivered hot and as ordered, and not outrageously expensive. Whilst I cannot vigorously vouch for other PR restaurants, this one is a keeper.

I was extremely appreciative of the management's attention to my food allergy. He personally delivered my food, to give me that sense of security that he knew it had been prepared well. The fruit and gelato dessert was amazing, and the sauce on my GF pasta was fantastic, a Papa Razzi version of the bolognese.

Great place for dinner and always busy on the weekend! Luckily you can make reservations on Open Table (and yelp) so that helps a ton. There bread sticks are incredibly addictive and the bread with oil is unbelievable. I love their Back Bay Sangeria as well! Great drink- even on a cold night! I have tried several of their entrees and I am never disappointed. The portions aren't massive, just the right size. Staff is always friendly and profesional. One of my go to places in the area, especially if I have guests!

Love Paparazzi - it has something for everyone. Formal dining room with white tablecloths or more casual seating in the bar area. They always have excellent specials, their risotto is one of the best I've eaten. A great atmosphere to the place - always busy and the servers and hosts are very pleasant and eager to please.

We were celebrating a special 70th birthday. 6 adults. I made the reservations early this week for tonight. Dine at Papa Razzi often. Requested a particular table by the fireplace. The girl read the reservation back to me describing the location of the table and the table number. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation. We waited a bit and then they took us to a table back in the corner and not in the MAIN dining room where I made a point to book. The 'General Manager' came out and loudly told us we just booked the table today. I told him I booked it Monday and they called to remind us of the reservation today. I said I booked it Monday and it was so important that the girl read the reservation back to me from the book saying it was beside the fireplace and the table number. He very loudly (over the top of guests sitting in the booth) said that was not possible as they did not reserve the MAIN dining room tables. I said I did not want to argue but that is what happened. He said if you want to wait for the table it could be 30 minutes. I said we would take this table but he would never see me again 1. for lying about the policy and 2. for being so loud about it. As we left the restaurant I saw friends in the MAIN dining room. They said they made reservation for their specific table earlier that week. People are treated better in other restaurants in Concord.

Papa Razzi has been the go-to restaurant for my family for years. My first dinner date in high school was there, now that I think of it... Anyway, the food is always fresh, doesn't taste processed or unhealthy, the portions are managable and the staff has always been great. I like that the kitchen is open and that they bring around pizza to those waiting to be seated if the wait is long. The Concord location has a fireplace which makes it seem cozy even though it is a large restaurant. When I go, I like to get the Caprese Salad or the Mozzerella and Proscuito for an appetizer. The Farfarle con Pollo and the Cavatappi Afumicati (pardon me if I misspelled that) are very good for entrees. The risotto special is always good too. It's a great place for dinner.

It was ok the first time we went and the atmosphere is nice, clean, but casual. Unfortunately, when we went back a second time I was very disappointed. I ordered their special - a flounder, red potato, and spinach dinner. It was all so oily and drenched in butter that I couldn't eat more than a few bites. I told the waiter and his only response was, "sorry to hear that." No follow up from him or the manager. I'll save my appetite and money next time and go somewhere else!

One of the worst meals I've ever had. Service was fine, fast and everything, but the meal was just awful. My friend said his was fine. I ordered the Pasta E Fagiole and a marinaded chicken salad. The soup tasted like bland paste. It had the appearance and flavor of baked bean and hotdog sauce, but with less flavor. Mushy kidney beans (not white beans) and way way overcooked ditaloni. It was unappetizing in the extreme - I literally couldn't bring myself to eat it. The salad was overdressed, the greens were browned and wilted, and the chicken was almost certainly at least 2 days old, overcooked and ripped into unrecognizable wads of off-tasting nastiness. There was a distinct chemical flavor of some sort to it, like someone had added windex to the dressing. The only upside is that when the manager asked how everything was, and I promptly said "awful! just awful!", he immediately comped me the meal, which I had barely eaten anyway. He seemed uninterested, however, in what was actaully wrong. Either they're aware it's awful, or the problem is they don't care. PR goes along with Picadilly Pub for me now, in my never-going-back file.

A little overpriced, but awesome pizza and great service makes this a nice spot to grab a beer and a bite. As far as local chains go I have to say this is one of the better ones I've been to and its a really one of the better restaurants around when it comes to Concord...

The food is...decent. It's nothing to write home about, but there isn't much better in the area, unfortunately. The spaghetti alla bolognese is good, and several other things off their menu are okay. Nothing spectacular, and nothing I'd take a friend from out of town to eat, but it's all edible. The service, however, is terrible. I've honestly never been to a restaurant with such poorly trained waiters. Turnover is high, the people that stay are only mildly competent. Every time I've been there, the waiter has served at least one drink in a dirty glass. They will try to clear your plates while you are obviously still eating, and a couple times have tried to make us order desert before we'd finished dinner. (We aren't people who linger over meals, either - they will literally give you only ten minutes to eat.) If they'd put a little more effort into training their staff, this could be a nice place to eat, but I find myself frustrated every time I go there.

I really enjoy this restaurant....I've eaten here approximately 6 times and it is consistently very good with excellent service. If the place suffers with one aspect it is the building which looks like it was a converted HoJo's....they offer a large menu of well thought out pastas, an excellent wine list and pizza which is paper thin and extremely flavorful. On Saturday evening my wife and I took our son and his wrestling team buddy to dinner after a meet at the Middlesex School, I oped for the putanesca pizza and the Inslata d'charles and both were perfect. My wife had a farfalle with chicken and a caesar salad which she enjoyed, my son had a seafood saute with scallops, mussells and I believe shrimp (the food didn't stay around long enough for me to be able to tell or taste it)....and his friend opted for a pizza. I think that this places matches up with any great Italian restaurant.

This was my first trip to Papa Razzi, but I have heard many good things about it from others. I met a friend there for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. When we got there it was quiet and we were seated right away. We kept things simple and ordered only main courses. She got a sea bass dish that was one of the specials for the evening. It came with roasted fennel and mashed potatoes. I got chicken piccata in a lemon sauce with asparagus risotto. I loved the chicken. The lemon sauce was nice and tangy, but not over powering. The risotto was creamy and the asparagus was mixed in well. They brought us homemade break sticks and bread to dip into oil before the meal got to the table. Our waitress was attentive, but not pushy. She made sure we enjoyed the food and let us know we could send it back if we were unhappy. We stayed for about 2 hours talking and the restaurant got very busy while we were there. Still, I never felt rushed to leave. While he did not come to the table, I did notice the manager walking around making sure everyone was happy. The prices are a bit high compared to the portion size, but we did skip over salads and other options to fill us up. I think compared to other, similar restaurants it was reasonably priced. I have been told their weekend brunches are also fantastic and I can't wait to go back to try it.

There are no restaurants in the area. So I am surprised that peole would give bad this place a bad review. Perhaps you want less restaurants????? Anyway....our family loves this place. Everything is made from scratch. You can add or subract any ingredient. We have eaten lunch there many Sundays after church and it's better every time. Yum. Love for the bread, salads, apps, main course, wine, dessert, coffee. Service is perfect. I encourage you all to give it a try. Don't listen to the nay Sayers!!! Try the swordfish, gnocci, steak, calamari, ceasar salad, ...............

I recently dined here after great reviews from colleagues...I was disappointed to say the least. We were sat in a greasy, fingerprinted stained booth for starters. Our waitress kept stumbling over her words it was painful to listen to her talk. We ordered the mozzorella fritta as an appetizer...how can you mess this up?? It was burnt, and the cheese had absolutely no flavor at all! I ordered the gnocchis as my meal for 17.00. It was the size of a side dish at lunch time...barely enough to feed a five year old. My boyfriend got the meatball pizza which was fairly good...I would reccommend this to anyone. The hostesses were too busy in their tenny-bop life to calm down and be presentable. I dont think I will ever to back to this location.

I love this place for dinner and wine but it is not a good place for brunch! The menu sounds awsome but the actual food is terrible. For dinner my bf and I both love the polo picatta, its delicious! It has a lemon flavor that really makes the dish. They have tasting flights that are fun if you arent sure what you want and I have had both good and okay chocolate martinis from here. My bf loves the Tiramasu. The service is normally good and I have never had to wait for a table.

I've been going on and off to this Paparazzi for the past 15 years. I used to always get the penne with chicken, tomatoes and assparagus and its still pretty good. I eat always at the bar, service is usually very good by Concord standards though drinks are on the pricey side. Other goods are the salads and pizza. But I strayed from my usual pasta dish twice recently and was totally appalled. One night was basic ravioli and sauce (total mushy disaster) and the other night was their version of pasta carbonara (sticky, greasy mess). Oh-well. Go for the excellent pizza, apps and salads and save your $$$ for some barilla and a can of tomatoes to fix up at home.

How in the world do you screw up bruschetta? Toasted bread, a little olive oil, some chopped tomatoes, simple. Our order (for three) arrived submerged in a deep, gravy-like pond. Huh? This turned out to be a thick balsamic vinaigrette. Yuck! Ever quaff straight vinegar from the bottle? No? Order this dish. As for the pasta course --- my angel hair pasta was clumped together and dry, having apparently sat under a heat lamp for a goodly amount of time. Moreover it was underseasoned, skimpy on the olive oil and garlic. The penne al' arrabiata was likewise dry and crusty, and as a perfect complement to the first dish, terribly overspiced. (This observation coming from someone who was brought up on spicy food!) Years ago I had a perfectly good meal at the Papa Razzi near Copley; this was an awful disappointment.

Food was passable. Service was truculent. Why do people swarm about? I suppose some people can't do better at home, but count me out.

I thought the service was great and atmosphere was good but the food was just alright. I ordered a pasta dish with eggplant, tomatoes, peppers and mozzarella. The sauce was watery and the mozzarella cheese was in globs. The bread sticks (served with butter?) are tasteless. It was also on the pricey side. I much prefer Bertucci's food as it is easier on the wallet, the food is excellent and you get unlimited piping hot rolls served with olive oil.

I have to admit.............i frequent the bar mostly...........GREAT place to watch a game...................2 giant plasma screens............food is good and consistant . typical for your large corporate multi location place. I like the service cuz they always remember me an treat me well...........there is always a huge selection of newspapers to read, and it is very homey.............The food is VERY good and consistent.............and I had the bruschetta ......it was great.................

Papa Razzi is my favorite restaurant and I have always recommended the restaurant in Concord and always mention there is one located in Wellesley and Framingham. We have been patrons for many years. When our children and grandchildren are in town, Papa Razzi is a must........ My husband and I love the food and prefer to sit at the bar. The bartenders provide great service and a friendly atmosphere. Tonight I was disappointed when I decided to try a lower price Chardonney. I'm not saying the wine wasn't good, it wasn't my preference. After one glass of wine I ordered my usual Coppola. When the bill came, my husband realized, the lower priced wine was changed to Coppola. Not that the bill was that much higher and the tip would have been the same, we were disappointed to see that there was a change on our bill. If I was with a larger party, it could have made a substantial difference in our bill.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
