this place has become our go-to chinese place, so i'm upgrading them to four stars, esp in light of recent bad reviews. (i have had some nasty chinese food, and this ain't that.) the chicken fingers always come in a pool of grease (why? and why only the chicken fingers?), and they still don't have eggrolls, sweet and sour chicken, or combination plates, and i would steer clear of the japanese offerings (the tempura, udon, and sushi were all "meh, wouldn't order again" for me, though the seaweed salad was good)...BUT the lo mein is excellent - i have tried the pork, shrimp, and house varieties so far and they all come with enough for three people and a good mix of veggies along with the protein. PLUS they always respect my request for NO BROCCOLI which is amazing. chinese places love to put that vile weed in errthang & i can't abide. definitely a fan of the crab rangoon sticks, scallion pancakes ain't bad either. J loves their lobster sauce and the boneless spare ribs are also pretty great. the young delivery guy is really nice - always on time and makes sure i can carry everything and even helps with holding and shutting doors when my arms are full. with the exception of our first order, everything has been packed really well, with drinks separately so they stay cold. (i've also learned that i prefer the "smoothie" bubble teas - better flavor, nice and icy, bobas behave better. i've had mango & pina colada so far.) and...THE SUGAR BUNZ ARE STILL AWESOME. ;)

Had the General Tso Chicken, Spring rolls, and Pork fried dumplings. The food was pretty good, except for the dumplings which had a bizarre fishiness to them that I found quite unpleasant. I had the food delivered to my hotel, and it did take a bit longer than it probably should have - about an hour and fifteen minutes.

Wow... I was extremely disappointed with the quality of food presented by Teriyaki Yummy. I ordered one of my favorite dishes that I have had at at least two dozen other Chinese food restaurants, egg foo yong. It was very burnt and tasted like it was covered in BBQ sauce. Not your traditional brown sauce. It was awful. I also ordered a hamachi maki roll. Which was the thinnest roll I have actually ever seen in six small pieces lining up to maybe four inches long. The shrimp rolls were light and tasty. Curry crab Rangoon. Stay away from. My bad I should have ordered the regular. The Szechwan chicken and rice was decent. Probably wont give this place another try...

Trying to find a new go-to sushi place...this will not be it. I ordered around 8:15pm. My time estimate was 9:00pm. At 9:20, I called the restaurant and they said "we just made that, it is coming." Not sure why they waited so long to make my order...but, anyway, fine, it was coming. At 9:30, my doorbell rings (1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering, a half hour after my time estimate). I go to retrieve my food, which was pre-paid with a 20% tip, and the delivery man yells at me "go get a pen, you need to sign." I was a bit surprised that a delivery man was demanding I go get a pen, seeing that if he needs a signature, he should provide me a pen, so, I said "excuse me?" and he said "a pen, go in your house and get me a pen." I was totally floored (and my neighbor was standing there appalled too). I got a pen and signed his piece of paper and he was off. He also tried to take my pen. To top it all off, all the avocado on my sushi had brown spots. If the avocado wasn't even fresh - that makes me really scared about the sushi I ate.

The food wasn't that great. I ordered the pepper steak bowl with the spicy salmon tempura rolls and the curry crab rangoons. There was barely any steak in my meal, the crab rangoons were almost tasteless and the rice covering the tempura rolls were really sticky. I also didn't get any soy sauce with my sushi, which was very dissapointing. I probably won't order here again, but I couldn't give it 1 star because it did have some taste. I just expected a lot more than what I was given. The delivery guy was also on time, so they could get the stars for their punctuality.

Ordered on GrubHub for delivery to my hotel. It took almost an hour. They did come at the estimated time. I ordered the Mapo Tofu. It was actually good! The spring rolls were not so great. The portion of the main dish was very generous. Why such a low rating? The driver asked for a larger tip because he had to go such a "long way". I don't think 1.2 miles is a long way. He was nice about it, but I think that's rude to ask for more money when they already charge for delivery and I also already tipped via the app.

Have been on a Thai & Pho kick so havent really been feeling Chinese food lately, but Mom wanted to order last night & she told me how this place was decent as they order from there at her work often... so came here read some reviews & looked at some pics (wished there were more, but nope)... Decided from the reviews I prolly shouldnt get the Sushi (Im Prego anyway so I really cant be eating much sushi)... Our order consisted of: Crab Rangoons (Only 4) and they were more shaped like a Spring Roll than a traditional Rangoon, but they were sweet & VERY GOOD... Boneless Spareribs - That looked like they were going to be all dried out & chewy but they were also so very tasty with good smoke flavor Edamame - My new go to & It was delish Spicy Korean Shrimp - It was soo tasty & it wasnt just that Ooh its spicy taste - it actually had REALLY GOOD Flavor AND spice... Comes with big chunks of veggies and rice (Allplates COME with rice & I LOVE THAT) Mongolian Beef - Again, had great flavor - was just all around delish We got a free bowl of Teriyaki Chicken for ordering over $30 (Courtesy of Foodler) and that was tasty as well - I felt that it could have been cooked a LITTLE more it was undercooked by any means I just would have rathered a little more burn/char to it as I like things well cooked... Cant wait to go back, now just have to hope the BF likes their rice (as thats all he eats) Will def be ordering again soon!

This place used to be our go-to delivery. The food in the past was pretty good and enough for me to order at least 10 times over the past few years. We placed our order for sushi, miso soup and beef terriyaki. The Soup and beef were good, so I will move onto the sushi, which was the reason for me ordering. The texture of the rice was disgusting. It was wet and mushy and the pieces stuck together. (Please refer to the picture where my husband held up one piece of sushi and the other pieces just hung in the air.) I could not even eat it without gagging and the mushy cold rice. I called to let them know that the rice was not good and the woman said on the phone" This is because the rice was done fresh. When we make fresh rice, it comes out wet.". I told her that we could not even eat the sushi and she just continued to tell me how "Fresh" it is and a "well, sorry". So I decided to put a review. We spent about $48 bucks for sushi and delivery, which isn't cheap and this will be the very last time we go there.

After reading some of the reviews and seeing some complaints I have to say I'm thankful I have never had any issues with this place as of yet. Delivery for me is usually pretty quick if not on time. Perhaps because I don't live that far from them. I usually order through Foodler but I have ordered in person before and it's usually an English speaking person taking the orders. On to the food. Anytime I order from here I don't have any issues. I never order the sushi. If I want sushi I go to a place that specializes in sushi since experiences other places usually are bad. This place has two menus, one for Chinese food, one for Japanese food. I have gotten great food from both sides. The chicken is always pretty good here. The rice comes in different options from white to brown to fried. The portions are enough for one person to eat and be full and no left overs. If the portions were bigger it would be awesome but it doesn't matter. The beef here tends to be ok. Sometimes you'll get a fatty piece but that's to be expected with a small place like this. This isn't a four star restaurant serving kobe beef. The noodles here are excellent. Udon noodles are where it's at. The place also offers bubble tea and smoothies. My favorite has become the kiwi smoothie. Not overly sweet and very refreshing. The best thing about this place? The food is delivered in some high quality containers. These aren't the cheap little take out boxes you're used to. They double as tupperware for me.

Ordered this place for delivery and it arrived every quickly. Awesome. The food however wasn't the best. I had shrimp fried rice, the shrimp wasn't deveined at all and looked kinda dirty and unappealing. It's not a place I would order from again.

Haven't had food from here in years stupidly gave it a try two weeks ago. With a few appetizers and plate of orange chicken and fried rice we shared- nothing made us happy. Should have specified to have food with the oil. Everything from the rice to the proteins was excessively greasy. Nice to have a delivery options but this will never be one again.

A VERY BAD experience to which they had a chance to rectify the situation and failed to do so. Delivery took 2 1/2 hours. Literally. If they can find the apartment complex to drop off a stack of delivery menus, one would think they would be able to find the place for food delivery. After an hour of waiting I called to inquire about the delivery status. They informed me that the driver couldn't find the place and came back to the restaurant. They asked if I still wanted the food. I stupidly said yes, and after another 1 1/2, two phone calls later, the driver arrived. The food... the hot items were cold, the sushi was ok, and one of the items ordered was completely wrong. I had called the next day share my experience and get a refund, but they pulled the language problem card and said the manager would call to talk to me. Well... that never happened. I called again the next week to talk to the manager, same thing. Never again.

Love the chicken teriyaki bowls with white rice! The crab ragoon is good and i love the seaweed salad amd the tofu miso soup and if your sushi actually arrives with your delivery(one time they forgot it had to wait for them to go and come back) its alright I always feel like im spending more money then the portions are worth but the price of the bowls ain't that bad.

I write reviews for good and bad. This was the grossest Chinese I ever had. The chicken was like mystery meat. It was shredded and fatty, didn't even look like chicken. The pu pu platter was also so nasty. The hot and sour soup was not tasty either. I would never order from here ever again.

    (1)
  • Andrea T.

Horrible. Took over an hour for the food to arrive. Only ordered teriyaki beef and dumplings. Food quality is definitely questionable, I was uneasy eating it, and I couldn't even finish. Don't order here :/

This would definitely be a 2.5 star order. Chinese food is the ultimate hangover cure. Ordered one of the lunch specials- lo mein, rangoons, chicken fingers and wings. Not bad for 13 bucks. Lo mein was the star of my gorge- delicious. Crab Rangoons looked like the ones you buy in bulk at Costco, fingers were overfried and greasy, wings looked inedible. Delivery was quick and friendly. Probably won't re-order from here

  • Ela Q.

I'm writing this reviews because of the awful customer service. Over 2 hours for delivery and not even a discount?! This is the second time this happens. The food is okay. Greasy. The chicken looks like goop. The low mein is acceptable.

This place has the longest delivery wait ever and I would never recommend this restaurant. Absolute worst. Ordered sushi & specifically asked for no avocado because a co-worker of mine is allergic. Not only did they take over an hour for delivery in the same city, the order had avocado in it. Worst.

Waited more than 90 minutes...on a nice day with no traffic...don't waste your time! There are other mediocre restaurants in the area and they are nicer to deal with...

ummm... I had the "korean chicken". It wasn't pleasant. I'm not sure what was "korean" about it. Maybe it had some gochujang in it? The sauce was very heavy....and weird. It would be fine if I was drunk though. Although if I ever got food here again I would probably just go with regular teriyaki chicken. The place is a sketchy feeling hole in the wall. I cant believe people get sushi at this place. Its dingy.

Really freaking good food and cheap. No delivery which I thought was awesome and they have a dual menu! I am vegan and they were able to confirm how they prepare their dishes which I thought was great. Highly recommend this place as I will be going here much more. Oh and they offer coupons tooooo!!

This place is NOTHING compared to what I'm use to in California. I ordered the Spicy rolls. They should have been crab rolls but I highly doubt any crab was present. I also ordered fried calamari and I should have known they would have used that damn thick Chinese fried food batter bullshit. UGH! Too much batter! Passion Fruit bubble tea- Eh, ok. I've had better. I wouldn't order it again but, it was drinkable. The tapioca balls weren't soft enough. I also ordered the Chicken lo Mein. I haven't had the chance to dive into it. I just tasted it a little bit but, from what I taste- it was yummy. If I were to order from here again- which I HIGHLY doubt, I would go for the chicken lo mein. One big plus is, the Delivery man was very prompt. He arrived in 30mins flat. I almost didn't have enough time to shower lol 2.5 STARS

Love their orange chicken with white rice. Staff is very friendly. Food was on my door 20 minutes after ordering. Prices are decent.

For what it is, it's perfectly fine. If you're in the mood for OK sushi and want it delivered fast, they're your place. However, do not expect to be completely wowed. I would recommend the pork dumplings and salmon and avocado roll. I order from them quite frequently so it's definitely worth the try!

    (3)
  • Joe P.

Great food!!! Everything here is just on point. The scallion pancakes are the best thing on the menu and they always give me extra duck sauce and ginger sauce when I ask. Other places I swear get mad when you ask them. Their sushi is always fresh which to be honest I kind of scared to try it since I'm really picky about sushi but it was actually so good! Sometimes delivery takes a long on the weekends but the food is worth it and it's never comes cold.

I've ordered Sushi from Teriyaki Yummy a couple of times because it is only a few minute walk from my apartment. The sushi is OK at best. The rolls can be hit or miss, but none of them are spectacular. I would recommend avoiding the Chef's special roll, which is basically a teriyaki chicken roll. It just misses the mark. The prices for rolls range from $3.25 for a cucumber roll to $12.00 for some specialty rolls. The fish tastes good, and I trust that it won't give me food poisoning or anything like that. There are specials on GrubHub that allow you to get free Shrimp or Spring Rolls if you spend over $15. They've also been left out of my order twice.

Teriyaki NOT yummy. My fiance and I got take out here and the service was pretty slow for Chinese. The place is a dump and we regretted going across the street to Fusion Foods the second we parked. The won ton soup was bad. I didn't try it but my fiance said it was and you can't mess up won ton soup. The beef teriyaki was mediocre and the pork fried rice was not edible! The worst flavor ever like cleaner and dirt combined. TERRIBLE. I have NEVER turned down chinese food. Until now.

  • Coco N.

A-OK is accurate. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken (d'oh) and a salmon roll. The sushi is below average, I've had better sushi from sketchier places. Their teriyaki is exceptional, I guess the reason I liked it so much is that all I had to do is grab my iPhone and dial their phone number to order it. My damn lazy ass did not leave the couch to get me some food. I actually went to their location a couple months ago, and definitely you do not need to know where your food comes from. It's clean alright, if it wouldn't be then they would be closed. It just looks crammed and not... well kept. They actually had more issues making my order to-go than over the phone, they had to re-do one of my rolls when I went there. There's no really place for more than four people to sit down so if there's someone there, good luck being comfortable. TL;DR: Sushi is a no-no, Teriyaki is a Yes. Take-Out is a no-no. Delivery is a Yes.

  • Natasha B.

I like this place and I order from here all the time. I usually get the sushi combos, rice bowls, appetizers, and avocado smoothies. I love those avocado smoothies! It's def not a place to sit and eat but delivery is free and prompt. Although they have forgotten my smoothie a couple of times which is why I knocked off a star. The people who work here seem nice enough and the food is goodt. Also, when I'm in Charlestown they deliver to my school (Bunker Hill Community College). Give it a try!

The first time I tried to go to Teriyaki Yummy, my dad was in town and really wanted to some Chinese food - one short jaunt over to the "restaurant" and we realized that this joint is strictly takeout (there are about two seats there, but it is not sit-down) and we turned around to get Mexican. I would not cross paths with Teriyaki Yummy for another 5 months until they dropped menus in my front hall - free delivery to East Boston? Done and done! Featuring Chinese and Japanese entrees plus sushi, it's often a 20 minute affair deciding what to order. The veggie udon soup is quite tasty (with an addition of sriracha from my pantry), and comes delivered with the broth separate so the noodles don't get soggy. It comes in solidly constructed containers too, so don't throw that stuff away! The Chinese entrees seem to be not so special, but are reliable in their descriptions and can come with brown rice instead of white with no extra charge. I almost always get an order of spicy tuna or salmon roll for only $5.00 which is fresh and delicious. Delivery is fairly speedy even on a Friday evening, but the driver will not actually come to my actual door, instead will wait till I exit the building to hop out of the car to give me my food. Weird, but not a dealbreaker to keep me from giving Teriyaki Yummy my business.

I love Teriyaki Yummy. There i said it. My roomate called me out on ordering more than once a week. ): Here's the real deal: -I don't care to ever know what the establishment that sells my chinese food looks like. MAJOR TURN OFF. ---I don't venture into Chelsea. PLUS ONE T.Y. - The food is pretty good. Coconut Curry chicken and Korean spicy beef are my go to's/ ---PLUS ONE T.Y. -Delivery service isn't bad ---PLUS ONE T.Y. -Food comes in the plastic containters that you can reuse. and I'm a cheapskate. --PLUS ONE T.Y.

I've been ordering from Teriyaki yummy off of foodler for the past few months. The service is fast and prompt, which is awesome when I'm getting home from work and not really in the mood to make dinner. Their selection of Chinese and Japanese food is great although their frying of appetizers is more Chinese style than Japanese (I don't think they use panko breadcrumbs for the tempura vegetables. My top pics are the scallion pancakes ( they seem pan fried over deep fried, which I like) but those can be a hit or miss. On a week night they are delicious, but when it's the weekend sometimes they can be under seasoned or over done. Coconut curry tofu (it comes with a weird combination of veggies so I typically ask for broccoli on the side) and the veggie sushi!

Terrible service! When I called to order delivery for lunch, they told me it was going to be 15-20 minutes. An HOUR and 15 minutes later, (my office is less than a 5 minute drive from this place) the guy shows up at the wrong door, which I had JUST spoken to him about on his cell, in addition to the person who originally took my order, but they ignored my directions anyway and had me checking every door my office has. SO, for an hour+ wait, in addition to spending 10 minutes hunting down the delivery guy who doesn't listen, my 2 sushi rolls were decent, but definitely not worth the all hassle for lunch. They didn't even say "sorry about the wait...or sorry you had to run around to find me....or thank you....or have a nice day...." Nada. Ugh.

I live in Revere. Land of pizza shops and low-rate Chinese food joints. And that's really all you get around here for take-out/delivery. 2 years ago I used to live in a city that spoiled me with Dining-In so I could get pretty much any food I wanted at any time. So I ate a lot of sushi. I love sushi. I missed it so much I was determined last weekend to find someone to deliver it to me. I took a chance and called T.Y. and asked if they delivered to my area...and they said Yes. Now mind you, I've already had their Chinese from having ordered a few times before while at a friend's house in Chelsea and it was very tasty so I trusted them with the sushi. Ordered BBQ eel & avo roll-deelish, Dynamite Roll-dynamite, edamame-fresh and nicely steamed, almond milk tea-desert in a cup. Overall, it was...yummy. You have made me a happy girl. I will order again when the next craving strikes.

Best Chinese food in the area, I have order a few times over the last month or so and the food has been great every time. The chicken is high quality along with the crab rangoon and rice dishes. To top it off they are extremely nice on the phone.

You should probably know this. I called for delivery today and I said only the first two digits of my phone number before the lady on the phone said, "Oh, yes, it's you, teriyaki chicken with white meat and extra broccoli?" THEY KNOW! They know all about me. ... get the teriyaki chicken, by the way. It's delicious.

This place is awesome. They have a great menu and are accomodating with special requests. (like white meat chicken where dark is normally used). Everytime I call for delivery they are super nice and fast! The also speak good english which helps when ordering. Every item I have gotten off their menu is very flavorful and fresh. A note for those of you who like it spicy, their menu items that indicate spicy are not at all spicy. So ask for it extra spicy. :) And for those of you that cant take the heat, go ahead! try it!

"Some of the best tempura I've had in a long time. The sushi is also excellent. They make it to your specifications, and it tastes fantastic! Very excited to have discovered this place, I think it will be my new favorite sushi in the area!"

This had to have been the worst sushi i have ever had. $10 for a "volcano" roll, the "tuna" on top seems like it came from a squeeze tube the consistency was so gross I had to wipe off to try to eat the remainder of the roll. I didn't know it was possible for shrimp tempura not to taste delicious- well it is. Next time I will be sacrificing the convenience factor and heading out of Chelsea for sushi. Never again.

After just moving to the area a few weeks back, my boyfriend and I are on the hunt for good local places to eat. He tried Teriyaki Yummy over the weekend with his buddies and they were in love. He raved about the teriyaki chicken and loved the fact that you could choose from dark or white meat. After hearing all the great stuff he had to say, we tried it last night. Everything he said was right. Fresh, great taste and affordable. We got two dinners a sushi roll and the pan fried dumplings. YUMMY! All this for $27. I liked the fact that brown rice was an option, you dont find that much and the veggies that came with our meals were fresh and hand cut, not the typical frozen veggie shapes we usually see. This place will be our go to for Chinese takeout !

Finally, decent sushi & Chinese that delivers and tastes good! I ordered chicken fingers, lo mien, creamy sushi roll, & orange chicken. Delish, not too greasy, white chicken, brown rice, fresh veggies, good price. They deliver to Charlestown, East Boston, North End. Quick & tasty, food ok.

I absolutely love ordering takeout here. The employees there are clearly confused by me (an Asian guy in Chelsea, who doesn't seem to speak Chinese nor Spanish, and doesn't seem to be a doctor...), and picking up food has morphed into a sort of 20-questions ordeal. Questions from the last 3 visits: "Are you Korean?" (No.) "Which church do you go to in Chinatown?". (Also No.). "Where do you live exactly?" (Chelsea). "Really?" (Really). "Why do you live in Chelsea?" (Good question). Oh yeah. the food is good too. But if you order the Korean Spicy beef too much, they start to think you're Korean. (No).

Teriyaki Yummy is another great Friday night takeout spot. I've tried many things from the menu and most everything has been delicious! It's awesome to be able to pick from Chinese and Japanese dishes, and a full sushi menu is available, too. They deliver, but popping in is always a pleasure because the staff is friendly and fun. Yes, the menus paper the city, but you've got to give credit to T.Yum, they know how to promote the goods. While I don't love the waste of resources, I do appreciate that they take the initiative to try to improve their business in an area where apathy is ever-present. Kudos to Teriyaki Yummy for providing Chelsea with good, cheap Asian chow and always letting us know they're still there!

I order my lunch from here often...Chicken Teriyaki Bowl with veggies (they will give you an options for white meat or dark meat) AND/OR Boneless spare ribs with veggies are my favorite...Price is reasonable and delivery usually takes 30-40 minutes. It worth the wait time and money...Overall A+

After walking by many menus for Teriyaki Yummy in my hallway for months, I finally decided to pick one up and order in. The menu offers Japanese and Chinese food. Even Bubble Tea! A full meal for 2 was around $25 with tip. Rainbow Roll: I was very skeptical of getting takeout sushi so thought this was a good way to assess the situation. The sushi was acceptable but the size of the roll was tiny and falling apart. Generals Chicken: It was tender and the sauce was jelly like. I would of preferred the outside crispier with a sauce that wasn't so globby. Besides that it wasn't bad and made for good leftovers for lunch. Extra credit for using big juicy chunks of white meat. The fried rice we paid extra for in the combo wasn't really a style we expected, no egg or extras, just rice mixed with soy sauce so it turned brown. The almond milk bubble tea was refreshing. They have a few kinds, so I would try another variety next time. Delivery was fast. They quoted 45 minutes but it came in 25. Will try other items on a future order. The food is OK, the menu is large enough I would try some other things and delivery bubble tea rocks. I wish they would stop spamming the local areas with their menus though. It seems at least once a month a new stack arrives.

W O W ! ! ! ! ! did someone pay everybody off for overrated reviews?!? This place sucks!!! Worst sushi ever!!!!! Everything tastes like an imitation!! The shrimp, soft shelled crab, spicy tuna, wasabi, even the rice!!!!!! but the ginger was good...They shouldn't even have prices over $5.00 for maki, sushi, or any other japanese item there. 1 star for the chicken lo mein. They should just stick to chinese food... Another thing, no wonder there isn't a delivery fee. Moral of the story? If it sounds too good to be true, then it is!!!

This Teriyaki is Yummy. We order from here about once a week. We usually go for the beef and string beans with white rice, some spring rolls... maybe some crab rangoons. Everything here is amazing. The portions are enough for two meals. I like how you order the main dish with the rice rather than paying separately. I am yet to venture into the sushi portion of the menu, but I'm getting closer. I have to get my fill of the beef and string beans first. Drink wise, you gotta try the passion green bubble tea. Sweet but not overpowering. Perfect. Love the bubbles. I'll be back to update once I try the sushi, until then, it's time to place my order.

Back in February (Feb 11th to be exact) I headed to Teriyaki Yummy for simple beef friend rice for lunch. It was my second visit to this place. The first time I went I was unimpressed by the look but thought hey I'm in the city, I heard their food is pretty tasty, and hopefully I wont get sick. I had some egg drop soup that was pretty good, how can you go wrong with egg drop soup?. At the time a sushi chef was not employed there, and from the looks of the place I would not order sushi from there anyway. I know i'm in Chelsea so I don't expect fine Chinese dining, but when I went, I didnt expect what I saw that day. The place is tiny, its pretty obvious that you can't eat in, you'll have to get your food and go. when you walk in you're immediately at the counter, and in the corner are two stools. Well on that day, there, by the stools was a homeless man. I thought to myself, you're in the city, ignore it, maybe he's trying to seek brief shelter from the rain. It took forever for the workers to acknowledge my presence, but when they finally did I ordered my food and as I waited I noticed the man in the corner began taking his jeans off one leg at a time, I yelled over to the workers in the back and said HEY, there's a person over here taking off their clothes. By that time now he had his jeans around his ankles. The workers looked dumbfounded like they didnt even know he was there, then fumbled around to call the police. As I was still standing there (no offer to refund my money and still no rush on getting my order to me) I watched him Pee onto his jeans that were now around his ankles, I yelled "HE'S PEEING HE'S PEEING!! You need to refund my $6.40!! I need to get out of here before he starts to take a dump!!!" They gave me my money and I broke neck outta there into the snow and slush. The place is a hole in the wall doesn't appear very clean and although I hear the food is very good, I dont think I can get past that vision, so I don't think I'll be back any time soon.

I am bumping this place by one star. Ever since I first discovered it, I have been going pretty regularly (pretty much on a weekly basis) and I love this place now. I'm a fixture here! They recognize my voice when I'm on the phone, and when I go pick up my order, I see the bag labeled "Anna" sitting on the counter, and I know another delicious meal awaits me. The staff is so friendly and sweet -- I've come to know them over the past few months. We speak the same dialect of Chinese, and they always keep me there for a few minutes in order to chat with me and catch up. I don't think I've had one dish from there that I haven't liked. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. I've tried both the Chinese and Japanese sides of the menu, and my favorite dish remains the same as it has on Day #1 - Chicken Teriyaki bowl with dark meat and fried rice. Yum yum!

This is a pretty good take out place. The inside is real small so I wouldn't recommend actually eating in the place, but they do have a few seats. The food is ready quick and tastes pretty good. I got the bourbon chicken off the lunch special. This was the first time I ever saw this on a menu outside of a mall food court and since I stopped eating in mall food courts over 10 years ago, its safe to say that I hadn't had it in awhile. It was pretty much what I expected and was actually pretty tasty. While I don't see myself craving food from here anytime soon, I wouldn't be opposed to having it again.

The dishes made with breaded chicken aren't as fresh tasting as they used to be. Bummer.

I'm so happy to have found this place. There are a decent number of Chinese places that deliver to my apartment in East Boston, but Japanese is a different story. Sometimes I just need someone to bring me sushi, ya know? I've ordered from Teriyaki Yummy twice now, and I've been very happy both times. The orders were 100% correct both times, and it didn't take too long to arrive. Last time they included a free sample of teriyaki chicken as well! As for the food, the sushi has always been quite good, and reasonably priced, in my opinion. I'm iffy on the fried rice and scallion pancakes (which I ordered last night when I was craving sushi AND Chinese), which is the reason for only four stars--but then again, I'm very picky about my scallion pancakes. On the whole, yummy indeed.

I'm really picky about my orange chicken, or any chicken dish from a Chinese restaurant. Teriyaki Yummy uses really good all-white meat chicken that's free of the usual gristle that you find in a lot of places. The steamed shrimp shumai wasn't as good as I had hoped, but I'm excited to try their other Japanese offerings, especially the sushi and bubble teas.

When I saw the piles of Teriyaki Yummy menus sitting in the lobby of our building a couple of weeks ago, I ignored them. I was pretty sure we already had one and had decided we weren't interested. Later on, Diana picked one up, happened to look at the back, and suddenly squealed. They had bubble tea. It Was Decided. We WOULD order from Teriyaki Yummy. Diana loves bubble tea, and I love the icy fruity smoothies that most bubble tea places make, just not the boba part. Free delivery of bubble tea to East Boston was pretty much an automatic decision maker. Diana ordered the vegetable tempura and the stir-fried vegetable soba, and I got the California roll and teriyaki chicken on white rice combo, which comes with free miso soup. She also got an almond milk tea and I had the mango smoothie. Everything was SO GOOD. The smoothie was refreshing and delicious, the sushi was really good, the teriyaki chicken was tasty without being extra greasy or so over-sauced as to drown the chicken. The tempura and soba noodles were great, too and Diana really liked her bubble tea. Even better was the delivery time. When we ordered the food, it was later than we normally eat, so we were a little distraught but not surprised to hear it would take 45 minutes to arrive. 20 minutes later, though, my phone started buzzing. The driver was downstairs with my food. SWEET! We have ordered a second time from here, and the delivery time was similarly quick, and the food was very good again. I will say, though, that the stir-fried tofu and mixed veggies on white rice is not as tasty as some of the other items on the menu. It isn't bad, but I prefer some of the other things I've had. Also, ordering here is a little more expensive than most food that I get as takeout. I think it's worth the money, but it is a little bit higher than usual. This is partially because I am cheap. Either way, we will be ordering from here again, probably very soon.

Food is really good depending what you order. Any bowl like the bbq eel bowl is good as is the salmon bowl. The chicken and beef fried rice are awesome, best texture in food I have had in awhile. Bubble tea is decent as well. I will be a repeat customer.

Teriyaki Yummy is an anomaly. Usually, when the word "best" or "delicious" or "famous" or (dare I say it) "kickass" is somehow a part of the business's name, their actual product and service is so far from the aforementioned adjective, it's nearly comical. But this place actually IS yummy. Not to mention fresh and convenient! Their well designed menu speaks for itself. Not your typical Chinese menu, with an overwhelming number of choices and that dizzying red print, their lay out is clean and concise, without leaving you wanting for more. Half Japanese, Half Chinese, their lineup features sushi, classic and specialty maki, and traditional American-influenced Chinese dishes like lo mein. Their Szechuan Spicy Tofu Bowl with brown rice was a very generous portion, nice and spicy, and for $5, it'd be a real challenge to find a cheaper dinner. Sushi and good Chinese delivered to Eastie? Score in a big way. It's a refreshing change from Hong Kong Harbor, which sufficed for hangover sustenance and that's where it ended,

I order from here alot just never got the chance to Yelp about it. Kimchee - pretty damn good , but I have never eaten other kimchee , so nothing to base it on :/ Teriyaki /Brown Rise plate - 8$ Generous portion , tasty sauce , REAL chicken. Fried Dumplings - crispy with a nice sauce that comes with it. Mandarin Orange Chicken - its good , but pretty typical I guess. This place is one of the few (?) places in East Boston that are on top of their " chinese /asian " spot. Its awesome that they deliver too free too . Sometimes delivery will take long and sometimes not ... she will always tell you it "will be 45 minutes" but who knows ... Oh yea, I found this place on Yelp!

I've been getting deliveries from them to Charlestown for the past month. The food is very consistent. I order their burbon chicken which is ALL chicken and very tasty. I had it with brown rice which made it a lil less of a heart attack in a box. Their sushi are sooo good! I had spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls and the flavor is just right. It's pretty fresh. I would recommend this to everyone!

Dude, this place surprised the hell out of me. First of all, it's in Chelsea, not exactly the culinary capital of greater Boston. And what's even stranger is that it's DELICIOUS. Doesn't look like much from outside, but it has saved my life when those hankerings for spicy cashew shrimp have reared their ugly heads. Similar to most Chinese restaurants, I don't think I could ever actually eat there, and don't really want to spend much time sitting in the restaurant waiting for my order, and really don't want to think about the fact that my food came from the restaurant at all. But once I get it home and forget about all of that, I'm a happy camper. Try it. Seriously. Good eats.

I don't think this is the world's most amazing stuff, but it's cheap, it's tasty, and it delivers. I like the eggplant with garlic sauce (not spicy, but very tasty). The Szechuan spicy tofu is also good-- the tofu is very soft, but the sauce is hardly spicy at all.

I didn't want to cook last night and I also didn't want pizza. I was craving Chinese and came across the reviews of this place. Although I went in wanting Chinese in the end I ordered off the Japanese menu. The order got called in and Matt was totally impressed. The order was repeated back to him and everything was accurate. The delivery time was longer than I would have liked (45 minutes), but it was free and thanks to basketball on TV I didn't even notice. I ordered tofu teriyaki, which was only $6 for a really big portion. Fresh veggies, lightly seared tofu and a side of brown rice. It was light in flavor, yet perfect. I also got a side of the veggie dumplings, $3 for 5 of them, which I thought was a deal. The boy ordered sushi and was impressed with the food, portions and prices. With the prices being so great and the food being so fresh, we will definitely order again!

I love this place. I ordered from here yesterday for lunch and I was salivating so much over it I was dying to try more of the menu. I am waiting for my lunch delivery from there now as we speak. I saw their menu before but since they are in Chelsea and I am in Malden I did not think they would deliver here. I crossed my fingers and called and they said they did...whoopieeeee...lol. Yesterday I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch with white rice and a side of popcorn shrimp and a spicy california roll. Everything was delicious. I wlll be back to let you guys know how i enjoy this order.......

3 women in the office ordered lunch. 2 chicken dishes. 1 beef dish. The food tasted OK, the sauce was a little too heavy but all of that did not compare with the after-effects. The 2 women who ordered chicken (I was one) spent the next 3 hours going back and forth to the ladies room. It was a terrible case of food disagreeing with the belly! We called Teriyaki Yummy (no- we did not want a refund) just to let them know what was happenning. Perhaps they would want to check the products, toss anything old and restart again? Nope- We get grilled for 5 minutes. First, saying we never ordered until my colleague produced the receipt and read them the info over the phone. Then we get passed to another woman. This woman asks for our symptoms and diagnoses us with possible dehydration as she asks us what our "stool" looked like and were we also vomitting. She said we should drink water- Gee Thanks. Um- you are a restaurant, not an E.R., right? At the end of the call she wants to know.. WHAT WE WANT HER TO DO? Check your damn food to make sure it's safe!! Don't serve it to others. Wow- should have called the DOH instead. I'd have given a second star if they werent so blatantly rude about the call. It was all about not giving us a refund- which we werent looking for anyway! No way- no how. Never Again!

I would to first start off with their oddly customer service. Their smile is akward and makes me feel uneasy. They gave me some samples ( like almost every Americanized Chinese take-out ). Eh I guess it's how they function. Now lets get to the food. I would say it's an alright place to go to. I think almost all Americanized chinese restaurants food quality are the same. On the Japanese side their fish is fresh but very minimal. Market basket down the street gives a better bang for the buck for the same freshness. Smoothies are alright, pretty high price for Chelsea though. All in all Chinese take out is the same like any other place and it's not really a place I would keep going back to everyday. It's kind of greasy. To end it all the menu is EXTREMLY EXCESSIVE! You'll see a long list of the same thing over and over but with different types of meats.

I am not a fan of Chinese food, however my husband would eat it for breakfast, lunch & dinner. So the fact that I rated this place 5 out of 5 stars really says something about this place (trust me, it does!!). I am impressed by the quality of the food. The rice is perfect. It's not the typical dark mushy rice you find at your standard Chinese food restaurant. The chicken is not fatty and the veggies are fresh (I love that they put zucchini in their LoMein!). The menu is also not your mother's Chinese food take out menu! You won't find sweet and sour chicken here (thank goodness!). Instead you will find dishes like Coconut Curry Beef! YUM! And as an added bonus (at least to my husband) they offer Brown Rice with their dinners. If you're like me and not really a fan, but married to someone who is a HUGE fan, then this is the place that will make you WANT to order Chinese take out!

How did this place get so many stars? 1. It's dirty. There was a guy cooking (deep frying) in flip flops. There was also maybe a grand total of 60 square feet of space, including the kitchen and front desk. 2. The food was entirely unsatisfactory. We ordered the vegetable combo which comes with vegetable sushi roll and inari nigiri as well as the chicken teriyaki entree. The sushi tasted funny, like no sushi I have ever had before, and I almost always get veggie sushi wherever I go. The inari was okay, but soggy. The chicken teriyaki was breaded...that is not Japanese chicken teriyaki. The white rice was good (but how hard would it be to mess up boiling rice?) and the Miso soup was pretty gross tasting. I love miso soup, and it was gross here. To top it off, I kind of feel sick now. 3. It's in Chelsea. Location therefore sucks. 4. Their bubble tea was good. We'll probably go back for that since the only other place around here (that we've found) that has bubble tea is in Lexington. Overall, this place was not good. Don't go here. In fact, go to Okasan Sushi in Saugus. Their sushi is AMAZING and completely blows the crap they call sushi at Teriyaki Yummy out of the water. Plus, they tend to give freebees of GOOD tasting things! Free ice cream after every meal, too. (AND YOU GET MORE FOR LESS MONEY!)

Very good; General Tso's Chicken was very good and no gristle or fat that I found. Did get the brown rice for no charge. Sushi was also very good. I would give it 5 stars if the portions had been a little larger; especially the rice. Not much rice given...and I eat a lot of it with my food.

Yes, the name does make you cringe or think that the food might not be so delicious, but I must tell you.... Teriyaki Yummy rocks!!!! I am very picky about my asian food and this place is surprisely awesome! We have ordered delivery twice and both times the food arrived in just under 20 minutes. We have tried items from their chinese menu as well as their japanese. Here is what we love. I love chinese eggplant, so we ordered their beef and egglant. Regarding portions, one item is enough food for two meals for myself. For my husband, it is one meal. The Beef with eggplant came in delicious sauce, the eggplant was tender but not mushy and the beef was very moist. There could have been more beef though. We have also tried their schezwan shrimp, which is also delicious, but there are very few shrimp, still worth the try though. They just started offering stir fried udon noodles. We tried that with beef and that is our new go to late night out food after a binge. Lastly, another solid item on the menu is their beef or chicken teriyaki. The portions are huge and extremely tasty.

To tell you the truth, I would have never thought to order food from here. But one day I got one of their menus in my mailbox, looked at the expansive menu of tasty sounding Chinese and Japanese dishes (sushi!) and thought, why the heck not? And they have bubble tea...hello!!! Bubble tea at my door in less than an hour? Yes, please. I ordered the 4 piece nigiri (shrimp, salmon, tomago, and tuna) and chicken teriyaki combo with a side of veggies and was pleasantly surprised. It was soooo GOOD! Perfectly seasoned chicken and you can even ask them to give you brown rice instead of white rice, if you wish. You had a choice of either miso soup or seaweed salad. I went with the former and my fiance went with the latter and it turns out that you get generous portions of both (also both very GOOD!). The sushi was surprisingly of very good quality: the seafood was very fresh. The spring rolls weren't bad either. They use the thin eggroll wrappers vs. the thick kind that some places use, which is always a plus in my book. Delivery was quick and the lady who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. Will be ordering for delivery again next time I'm too lazy to venture out for good Chinese/Japanese/Sushi.

My boyfriend and I have Teriyaki Yummy take-out at least once a week. It is the best Chinese food we have ever had. The staff is fun and friendly and we occassionally treat ourselves to the Strawberry smoothies. WE love it!!!

This place pleasantly surprised me. Having had some bad experiences with chinese food at some of the East Boston establishments, my fiancee and I decided to give this place in Chelsea a go. My first impression of this place came way before the food even arrived. This is going to sound strange, but I really found the menu to be pleasing to the eye, and my fiance also said the lady on the phone was extremely friendly. The food is a combination of Japanese and Chinese food, with a great selection of sushi. Our food arrived delivery within a reasonable time frame and then it was time to chow down! The sushi was excellent, as was the chicken teriyaki. We chose to have vegetables added to the teriyaki, which really made the dish pop. I would highly suggest this, along with brown rice for a pretty healthy take-out meal. I am placing this restaurant on my list of old standbys, as its been the best asian takeout I've experienced in my adventures so far.

I am surprised by all the good reviews of this place because my experience was a big MEH. They constantly drop off menus in my building so I finally gave them a shot and I was not impressed but honestly I have pretty high standards for Asian food. I hate when a place doesn't list major ingredients in a dish. I ordered shrimp with peanuts and it says it comes with rice. OK I got 8 small shrimp and 5 peanuts hidden under an absolutely enormous pile of zucchini and green peppers, probably the only 2 vegetables on the planet I despise. I am still hungry after eating this and the 4 tiny ass grocery store sorry excuses they call dumplings. I don't know why I continually order from these greasy spoon American Chinese places and hope for a semi-decent meal. Maybe it is the optimist in me that figures one of them has to be special. Maybe I will try this place again in desperation and be surprised I get a good meal but I highly doubt it.

I've ordered from this place twice. First time I got the chicken teriyaki with california roll &seaweed salad. I wouldn't recommend the sushi or the seaweed salad. The second time my BF ordered the Orange chicken w/p.fried rice-he loved it! and he's picky with his orange chicken. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and it hit the spot..it was delicious! The best part, the driver didn't get lost, must have gps. Love this place but not the sushi :]

Every time I've called, never been put on hold and they are always very pleasant to talk to. 4 stars is for the phone operator and they speed of the delivery guy, but the spicy tuna sushi was not even close to spicy. The rest of the food was excellent, but if I want spicy I want my eyes water a bit. The rest of the meal was very good, but give them a call

The best Chinese takeout I've tried in Chelsea. Very convenient, decent food. I've only eaten from the Chinese side of the menu. I'm evaluating it as a Chinese takeout place; quality is very decent for Chinese takeout.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
