Great pub atmosphere, the company at the bar is always entertaining, drinks reasonably priced. Live music nights are an added bonus. Try the sweet potato fries, they're awesome!

Went went to eat at the Sunday brunch on Mother's Day and were very disappointed with the service and the food. The scrambled eggs were completely cold, like they've been sitting out for a long time (and we got there right at opening). I waited 5 minutes at the carving station for some prime rib and ham and no one was there, so I went back to my table. (I went back up later and someone was there, but I was already full). The girl making omelettes looked completely miserable, and everyone was greeted with, "What do you want?" By the way, one girl making omelettes for an entire restaurant is completely inefficient. We also needed a tablet ticket for us to get an omelette, which no one told us about. So after my father and I waited in line for our omelette and didn't have a table ticket, we just went back to our seats with no omelette. We asked our server what a table ticket was, and she looked confused. She then showed up with a piece of white paper (3 inches by 3 inches) and a pen and told us to write down what we wanted. Mind you, we did not get our omelettes until we were pretty much done with our meal and were full. Next up, the coffee. This place charges you for coffee refills. Our table had 3 small cups of coffee total, and the receipt said (coffee x3 = $6). That is ridiculous. One cup of small coffee is $2??? And no free coffee refills? Also, one of our creamers was completely curdled and spoiled. And when we told our waitress about it, she said "Oh I just hate when that happens!" And she took it back to the kitchen and got us fresh creamer. We were still charged for the coffee. Last but not least, our waitress kept insisting we should have something from their dessert table. We were told they had all kinds of cake, etc. Every time we went up, though, it was just a barren table with a few mini cupcakes. They really need to restock their dessert table. Honestly, I would have had a better meal at IHOP for way less money and way better service. My parents will not be returning ever again. Of all the breakfast brunches I have been to, this was just a huge let down and I am just appalled that we spent $100 at this place for a family of 4. They shouldn't have even charged $50.

We've been coming here for years, very disappointed with the new Menu and service! My husband's Chicken Parmigiana overcooked, not enough sauce and rubbery Zitii! We sat behind a foursome who obviously felt the same way, disappointed with the new Menu and horribly slow service. They added some sprigs of Oregano to the dishes to make them look upscale but this is a PUB after all. This brings to mind the old Adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" Won't be back, heard there was new Management. We hope he reads the reviews before no one shows up!

I have been going to the Glenview for many years and loved it. They were always crowded at meal times. Why? because it was good food at a great value, that's why. Then, as many have mentioned there was a change of ownership and everything changed and not for the better. We ate there a few weeks after the change in ownership and were not happy. Today, we went again to see if there had been any improvements over time. The waitress, who has served us many times was our server today. She told us that they were returning to the menu of the past. She was very honest in her discussion about the past several months. She noted that many of the old favorites were coming back to the menu. I ordered the roast turkey dinner, which had been one of my past favorites. I must say it looked and tasted just like what I had remembered. I will indeed return again to see if the progress continues. Hopefully the new management will get things back on track. I would love to make it one of my regular dining places once again.

Live music was great. I got the Steak Tips and they were tasty and cooked to perfection! Included a potatoes that was good and cooked fine. Hot Tea was well over steeped and therefore bitter. Peas from a can :( Lobster pie was meh Bartenders helping out were excellent and on point.

Glenview used to be a great pub. Not anymore. They're trying to be something they're not and failing at it. Miserably. The new menu has some very odd items. The chicken pot pie? It looks like someone ran over it and left it out in the sun for a few days. The food was never all that spectacular here before but it was consistently good and never disappointed like the new stuff does. You've ruined a good thing and I'm sad to say it, but my family and I will not be coming back.

What happened!?!? If I wrote a review a year ago it would be totally different than today. They removed half of the menu - taking off classic dishes we've all been going there for years. It's not the same. The menu items they have left just don't taste the same. If they're going to focus on updating anything it should be the decor. All that said, the portions are huge so you definitely get a bang for your buck and the live music is awesome.

Hubby and I came here for a date night on a Friday night. We ordered an appetizer sampler- alright, first and foremost, their fried provolone cheese is nice and big, when you cut into it, it melts!!!! Fried pickles were yummy with the honey mustard as well. I'm pregnant so I asked for a virgin drink and told the waitress to surprise me. Waitress (Alyssa) came back with a kick ass drink. Our bartender was Julie and I loved it. Ok I moved onto the main course. Alright, I don't know what you guys do with your clams but it melts in the mouth in the middle and crunchy on the outside. I'm officially double whammy in love! My hubby loved the famous "Marsala Stephanie Chicken" too. Man, I think I found my favorite place to come for a date night :-) thank you, Glenview pub and grille!!!!

We stopped coming here a few years ago because it was so crowded we couldn't get in. Last night we decided to go there after a very tiring drive home from vacation. The good news was there were no crowds, I guess because there were some changes that were not popular. The other good news: It seems they are back to their old school roots, as the menu was extensive, service very good, and food also very good! Only thing they didn't bring back is the "three day" items..items that took them 3 days to prepare! Dang! But, we'll be back!

Excellent food. Low prices. Sloooooooow service. Place is trapped in 1970s but that is what makes it enjoyable. Amazing menu.

Unfortunately, the Glen View was a big miss for me. The uninterested waitstaff and the lack of cleanliness gave this establishment a very tired feel. I dropped my wallet under the table, and couldn't believe how dirty the floor was. Bummer :( My food came out tasteless and very cold. Drinks were slow to refill, and plates were not moved in a timely manner. I couldn't eat much of my cold meal, despite how starving I was. My significant other actually "lost" his meal in the bathroom- for lack of a better term. I wanted to like this place. Small business, homey local feel. I hope things get better here. Perhaps under a different management approach, I would give it another try.

Been coming here for a while now (about 7 years). The new management is not as up to par as the previous management. Fish sandwich came out almost swimming (slight white around the edges of the fish) and my wife's prime rib was still mooing as it was super pink no grill marks on it at all! Looks like they slapped it on the grill for 15 seconds each side chopped it up and slapped it on some bread. Had to send both of our meals back to the kitchen to be cooked. I don't understand why they felt the need to change their menu it was great before.... Not to mention horrible service... Might not be visiting this establishment anymore.

Had the french onion soup, it was luke warm, and salty. Greek salad and caesar salad were ok. Two hours after lunch, horribly sick...never again.

I've been going to be GV for years, just recently they changed the menu. I understand that change usually is ok, but the GV wasn't broken, but management heard us and redid the menu and it is awesome. New Pub menu and lunch and dinner, I love it, pretty hard to find a hangout when you been going to the GV for the great food and the bartenders make it a blast. Prices are good, and I had the steak tips, my mouth is watering just thinking of them, so tender I cut them with my fork. The bar has all kind of draught beer and micro beers, believe me try it out.

Not the same glenview I grew up with. About a year ago something changed. The manu is commuted and the prices are inflated and the chowder is worse while not being offered everyday. I am the third generation to eat here and we may not return.

It was ok. Saw an ad on Facebook so I decided to try it. The place definitely needs updating. It's dark and I don't think very clean judging by the stained rugs and greasy booths. The menu is rather expensive but the food is good.

The hostess seemed bothered to seat a group of about 6 people in the half empty restaurant. The service was astoundingly slow. Lunch took about 2 hours, with hardly any chit-chat during the meal, before, or after. Two people with sandwiches had sopping wet bread - a bit gross. The shepherds pie looked world class, and had no complaints. The decor was nice, cozy, and relaxed.

I used to love this place and used to drive miles just to get one thing - tristano veal and lobster And now is out of the menu. Big disappointment to me and my whole family. Tristano veal and lobster was the best creation ever. Bring it back pleeeeeease!!

No matter what time of day, we have found it difficult to get a seat at the bar. Definitely a place where the regulars go. The restaurant side seems to draw the older crowd, and the bar has a mix of ages. Decor hasn't been updated since the 70's but it adds a certain character. Old school dedicated window for Keno/ lottery players so at least the bartenders is not throwing tickets into the lottery machine every two minutes. Kind of off the beaten path in Chelmsford, but not too far from the Drum Hill rotary. Always like the places with their own popcorn machine so that added one star. Service is spotty, especially when the bar is full, so if you are in a hurry this might not be the place to go. Despite the service and the lack of seating, we still would return for the draft beer, good food and... popcorn.

Came in on a Sunday night, and had one of the best dinners I've ever had in the Lowell/Chelmsford area. I travel for business on a regular basis and could not have better things to say about my experience, When I travel to the east coast again I know where I will be staying and I know where I will be taking business clients for dinner My waiter was fantastic provided good recommendations. he had every answer I could've wanted about the vast amounts of craft beers on tap, lead me around the menu from top to bottom, and things I could order off menu. Four different i.p.a.s on tap, plus comfort food makes this man happy.

This place is great! It always seems to be packed when we go. I love the sheppards pie! I wish there a few more tv's in the dining area and the bar area was bigger. The wait staff is great but they usually seem to be overworked. It's one of our fall-back places if we can't think of where else to go out to eat.

Always could count on a great menu , great bar tenders, and huge selection at a great price. No more. Craft beers, &15 burgers and limited menu. First time I didn't have to wait for a bar seat on a Friday night. No one here

Ah Glenview! I want to love you but you keep sabotaging our love by over cooking my lamb tips! Sure, your drinks are refreshing and good sized, and your appetizers so delish! Italian entrees? Huge portions and absolutely wonderful! But the lamb, the lamb. We are 0 for 3 on the lamb. I want to eat it, but your cook insists on sending it out to me cooked super well done, despite my pleas for rare rare rare. And to top it off last Friday, after I sent back my plate of little lamb charcoal briquettes, I was informed you were then all out of lamb. On a Friday evening. At 6pm. Forgive my skepticism. So while the rest of my party enjoyed their meals, I waited a good 20 minutes for another dish to be cooked for me, the swordfish kebabs. They were excellent - at least, the one piece I ate was. By the time time I got them, all my friends were finished eating, so I had my meal packed up to go . Good service, good prices, good food, except the lamb. Maybe next time, Glenview. Until we meet again...

Been coming here for years. It now has seen the end. Change of management. Food is horrible, except for the ribs. Used to have excellent appetizers, not now. Processed food, no flavor. Chicken appetizer from BJS. Regular staff are gone. Such a shame. A drop of 85 per cent business has said it all. This has all taken place in early fall, as that was the last time we were here. The five parties that were there were all talking about the drastic menu change, and they take staple dishes and ruined the taste and presentation. Have sent many to this establishment in the past, but no more. your regulars.

Live in the city. From the area. Loved coming here for many years for the local, personal feel. Recent change of ownership that has culminated in declining food and service. Culmination in tonight with a pathetic display of service and wait staff. Where'd they find these people? I will never be back.

WOW! Been away for a month and came back to a SIGNIFICANTLY reduced menu and a 50%+ average hike in prices!!! They removed all of the club sandwiches, most of the pasta dishes and now have a Meatloaf that is nothing near the good old comfort food. Glenview used to be our go to place for an inexpensive bite but... I'm crossing off my list. I thought it was strange when I showed up @ 6 PM last night and the place was only 50% full. There were even seats at the bar!

First time here. Came for lunch. Service was OK. Today's meals got mixed reviews bit you can't beat the price. Hubby loved his meatloaf. I was not crazy about the Mediterranean Lamb sandwich. Not that it was not prepared well but I thought the seasoning made it bitter and the texture of the meat was a little strange. Will give it another try. Would not come here for a special occasion but I can easily recommend this place for an inexpensive meal.

I used to come here all the time I stopped a few years back as things have changed. I recently began to come back and try it again. Ugh it is still not to par I agree that the portions are large but if it is not eatable than it does no good. Sadly I would pass on eating here and favor a chain over this place.

This is a great place to gather whether with friends or family. One of the nicest things about the Glenview is its a one size fits all kind of place. If your looking for a family gathering they have a warm atmosphere in the dining area. If your looking to hang out with friends head to the bar side for a scrumptious selection of cocktails and KENO! They also have entertainment! If your looking for a great night out with plenty of choices and variety, this is a must go. Lunch and dinner selections have always been superb but the recent addition of Sunday Brunch was such an excellent idea. We went this past weekend and the choices were excellent, lobster mac and cheese, carving station of prime rib and ham and several traditional breakfast items so there is truly a great selection - all of which were amazing. Can't beat the price for all that is offered. I especially enjoyed the brunch cocktails, different and delicious! You will never be disappointed by the selections, specials and portion sizes. This is a family owned restaurant and it is quite apparent by the selection, portions and presentation that the owners really step outside the box to make people feel welcomed and satisfied without outrageous pricing.

My boyfriend and I live in Lowell and don't really go out much. But when a friend of ours told us about the Glenview and how amazing the food is we decided to try it. Well he wasn't lying. We have never had a bad meal there. We have been numerous times and will definitely drive all the way up here when we move out of Lowell to have a great dinner. We usually try to get a seat at the bar because we love playing Keno and the bartenders are awesome. We have sat in the dining room a few times as well and the service is just as great and you can still play Keno. I've even taking two of my best friends here because I knew they would love it. The food is so good and the portions are huge. I always leave with a doggy bag. I would recommend this place to anyone who lives in the area.

Quick version: Horrendously slow service the night we went, decent food but only if it is warm, don't count of being treated with respect. Long version: While my food arrived warm, at least half of our group had tepid to outright cold food served to them. Would have complained to the waitress, but she was never around. Took 15 minutes between drink order and drink arrival... for iced tea and fountain sodas. Took 45-60 minutes between food order and arrival at the table. Saw at least two tables seated after our group of six who were able to order their food after we did, get their food, finish eating AND LEAVE before we even got our food. My dish arrived warm and was decent. My son and his friend were too hungry to care. Everyone else had a problem with the food, but the waitress was nowhere to be found to complain to. Of course, after the lengthy wait we felt complaining would just add another hour to our night. Given that it was late already (after 9pm), we sucked it up and ate what we could. We had high hopes for the place and were planning on going back the next night and possibly bringing more friends. Unfortunately, the experience we had told us this was a bad idea. Suggestion: If the parking lot is more than half full, find another place to eat.

Just stopped by the Glenview today and saw they have a new menu. Haven't been in awhile but they still know how to fill you up. I had the open face turkey dinner and couldn't finish it. Will go back for dinner with the my wife real soon

This place is awesome!! I've always drive by here and always wanted to try it since the parking always looks packed, thinking it must be really good. Finally had a chance and I absolutely loved it. It gets crowded real quick and long waiting line. My favorite all time dish has to the fishermans platter! Which consist of fried haddock, shrimps, scallops, and clams. Big portions, nothing dinky and comes wit two sides. I also tried their eggplant parm appetizer which is delicious! It is saucy and cheesy and comes with a garlic bread, could easily be a meal. Mostly everything they served here are big portions and at a great price! Great waiters and nice atmosphere. You won't be disappointed! Give it a go!

I grew up in Chelmsford and I have to say that the look may have changed, the menu also but the food is always outstanding. Speaks for itself as there is always a crowd. Portions a a tad large, but again, have never been disappointed at lunch or dinner! A must try!

After several years of using Yelp as a guide, I was compelled to set up an account because there was just a number of areas that needed improvement at The Glenview, that was not due to it being just "one bad night". When you walk in, the place is dark and feels dirty, once we were seated that dirty feeling was confirmed. The table smelled of old dish water, the utensils were cheap, beat up and had dried bits of food on them. The waitress was excessively attentive throughout our time there, which I know is a very rare complaint to have, but during dinner alone she stopped to say, or walked by saying "Isn't the lamb fabulous?", "I just love that shrimp and garlic bread!", "Hon, do you see how thick the lasagna is?", then pretty much walked off, or kept walking without really having an interest in our feedback. The restaurant was active, but not even close to being full. I did eat my shrimp, and they were a good to average, but I only got past one bite of the garlic bread as it broke off when it bit into it. My two daughters barely ate anything, my husband finished about 3/4 of his lamb dish and said it was good, but said so while shrugging his shoulders. I know that this is a tough review, but to qualify my judgement, I did waitress in a restaurant and a pub over the course of three years while in college, and I cook a fair amount, from tailgate-type food to special occasion dinners. This review also stayed as a "draft" for some time because I really don't enjoy giving a bad review. Bottom line is that there are other places in, or near Chelmsford, that are more deserving of your money.

This place is hit or miss. I go in sometimes and the food and the service is amazing. I go in another time and the food and the service is the worst. I get the lobster roll and sometime it taste fresh and other times it taste like a low quality lobster. I go in and some how always get the same server. One time she is nice and attentive and other times she could care less about my table. There are places in Chelmsford with better food and service that is always top of the line.

Stopped there as my brother was in town and wanted seafood and it was 7 and we were in the Tewksbury area, Yelp comes through again! Thanks to yelp I knew to call ahead for seating (yay). The prices are very reasonable, great waitress. Tons of food to eat and I thought it was pretty darn good. I will be back for sure but I have to remember to either share a clam plate or get something else, because I just don't like fried clams leftovers and there were a lot of them! Hmmmmm wonder how the desserts are! :-)

Thursday night. Very very busy! Extensive menu with a lot of healthy items. Ordered the lamb, was a little undercooked, but a great portion for the price. Will defiantly go there again. Looks like a hole in the wall place from the outside, but really great food and close to drumhill. If you are around the drumhill area and looking for somewhere to eat, i would recommend this place over any chain restaurant in the area. Everyone will find something great to eat and they serve everything nice and warm. The food tastes very fresh! Can't wait to go again. Also the staff is really on top of things. They are able to talk to everything on the menu!

What happened???? For over a decade the Glenview has been our go to place for many speacial occassions, birthdays, reunions and a few anniversaries. We have made the drive down from NH. AT least twice a month for years and have never been disappointed, not even once in splte of the wait to get a table regardless of the time of day. They have always been busy. My wife and I have reffered many people to try the Glenview and everyone has loved it! What great food, what value, excellent! All of this has changed recently and I couldn't be more disappointed. My wife and I were surprised recently when we arrived at the "Glenny" at arround 6pm on a Wednesday and parking was easy, we were seated immediately and everything went down hill from there. Our cocktails were watery (not normal !) and our dinners portions were small (again not normal !). My wife ordered the queen cut (14 oz.) prime rib, always a great choice in the past. The portion served to her couldn't have been even 10oz. My fried clam & scallop platter was half the size of the same item then it was the last time I'd ordered it, or the last dozen times I've ordered the same item in the past. The price was a dollar more as well. What gives???? What a shame! I've had over a hundred great dinners here over the years and have never been disappointed with the food or drinks ever! I am very sad to see the changes here and apparently I'm not alone. It is with much regret that I now have to find a new favorite restaurant to go to. This will not be easy as the old Glenview will be a very tough act to follow. Again....What a shame!

  • Winnie C.

Hm...this place wasn't that great, but I'm giving at least 2 stars because it might be due to the waitress that we had. In ordering beer, she wasn't familiar with the beers available, and we had to point out the beer on the menu. Later on, I ordered a tea and she forgot to bring creamer and a spoon with my cup, and when she returned she brought the check and we had to remind her that she was going to bring creamer and that I needed a spoon. In addition, the food wasn't so great. My boyfriend ordered the Mediterranean sirloin tips, and I ordered the regular NY sirloin tips, and they didn't seem to taste much different from each other. The only things that were different were the sides that came along with them. They were also not cooked "rare" as my boyfriend wanted them, and my "medium-rare" was pretty much a past-well-done dish. It may have been that the place was busy, but being that it is a pub, they should be used to bustling activity during those late hours. We also received a basket of bread with a small container of butter that was not sealed, and the butter had been scooped out of it already. This seemed quite disturbing in terms of hygiene. I wouldn't recommend this place to friends.

Never before have a had to get the remains of an appetizer boxed up to go - but such was the experience during my recent visit to Glenview Pub & Grill. All of the reviews touting their large portions are not exaggerating - you're going to get your fill here. The appetizer in question was a plate of nachos, which i shared with the girlfriend, and could have easily shared with 3-5 others. We ordered it with Chili, and i was elated to see that they served the chili separately, as to not get the tortillas soggy (same with the salsa) - i really wish more places would do this. I probably could have made more progress on the app if i didn't know that i had a wonderful turkey club on its way - i delivered again on the portion size, and i have never really met a turkey club i didn't like. Our waitress was a bit... let's call it flaky (left us hanging for some water refills and when we were ready to pay the bill), but genuinely polite/nice, and it didn't take away from a great lunch. When i go to lunch on a Thursday afternoon in August, i'm OK with the B team. Packed Friday night dinner - might be a different story. Great place to grab some food - wish i lived closer, it would probably go into the regular rotation.

What can I say about this place?!?! Fantastic atmosphere and great staff!!! My girlfriend and I have gone here for a couple years, and the food has ALWAYS been great at a great price!!! The selection is huge, and they have a big selection of beers and drinks. If you're ever up in this area, you should DEFINITELY check this place out for great family dining!

Good food, generous portions, decent prices and very good service. Our waiter (I believe his name was Jay-sorry I'm super tired from our long trip) was very nice, made excellent recommendations and when my order wasn't what I thought it would be he took it off the bill without hesitation. We arrived just before the dinner hour so were seated quickly, as the dinner crowd rolled in the wait staff was pushed to its limits as they really pack them in here - a testament to the quality food and service. Just a tip- as one of the biggest debates in New England is whether lobster rolls should be served hot with butter or cold with mayo, I should have asked which they were. Expecting a nice toasted bun with a heaping pile of buttered "lobstah", I was instead greeted by a nice bun with a heaping pile of cold lobster mixed with mayo and lettuce. I absolutely detest cold lobster with mayo but if it's your thing- you will not be disappointed, it's a nice looking roll. We will definitely stop there again when we travel to/from the White Mountains.

Love this place- been here so many times. Great place to get comfort food. My bf loves their selections of pasta. I don't remember the name but it has lobster and scallops with a tomato base sauce, ask them to make it spicy. He also got the lobster bisque: it had so much flavor and i felt like I was eating the roe itself. But the one thing to get from this place is their Deep Fried Calamari w/ cherry peppers. They give so much that I'm already full before my dinner comes out. This place gets busy so make sure to get there early before 7pm. But even so..wait time is at most 15 mins.

I was here last week with my boyfriend and we had an awesome dinner. Huge portion for a great price! We ordered the clam strips for an appetizer and amazingly it was whole clams! So yummy. For entrees, I had the lobster roll dinner with sweet potato fries; my boyfriend ordered the Jim Brady's special (BBQ chicken, ribs and sirloin tips). I must say the ribs was delicious! I barely ate my lobster roll, it was way too stuffed which I guess is a good thing if you have a big appetite. His sirloin tips were a little over cooked for a "medium," but he liked it. Our waitress was nice, but seems like she was lost most times...? Overall, good dinner! Spent about $80 including tip :)

I love the Glenview! Another pinner said this place is always packed for lunch and dinner and they are absolutely right. I drive by everyday on my way to work and my way home. Whether it's 11am on a Tuesday or 9pm on a Friday, people will be spilling out if the doors and most likely you will have to wait. Fortunately, it is worth the wait. Just a warning there are MANY items to choose from and the menus get a bit overwhelming (even though they have trimmed them down lately). The portions are huge and you will definitely leave satisfied and full. It is definitely a "townie" type place in that a lot of the patrons seem to know each other and visit often. The decor is outdated and sometimes it feels really dark inside. I find myself wishing there was a window somewhere. There are only two stalls in the ladies room and there is always a funky smell in there. They do have Keno and the booth is right next to the bathrooms. I would recommend the grilled terriyaki skewers (appetizer), chicken pot pie (all white meat), shepherds pie, and the baked haddock. Also try the martinis...they give you a little cup on the side with the extra!

My wife and I have been coming here for years. And usually it's their lobster rolls and lobster bisque that draws us in. This time ...was a little more disappointing then usual. The service was not really the issue. But we were coming in right after the holiday weekend. So we were told from the start there was a number of items they didn't have, Including onion rings which I would think should be a staple item. The lobster rolls have gone down in size and up in price. Not to mention it seemed the lobster had been preciously frozen which is different also. And no more lobster bisque being offered which is my wife's favorite. :(

A personal favorite for me. Great food (and lots of it!) for cheap. Great bar if you can get a seat. Cheap beers. Everything I love about a pub! My favorite sandwich there is the Kackleburger. Chicken cutlet sandwich on nice roll with cheese and bacon.

As a native I don't remember going here when I lived in town. So many friends recommended it, so we tried it out for a rare "date" night on a Saturday evening but we decided to wait it out. There was barely any room in the bar or near the hostess stand so we waited outside. Once seated we ordered quickly since we had studied the menu during our wait. The food was very generously portioned. Loved the bleu cheese dressing. I'm sure we'll be back for another visit.

I would love to eat here more often but the place is always jammed. Being jammed, that affects the service. The townies love it here. Big portions.

This place is great for when you want a big plate of comfort food and you don't want to spend a lot of money. It's also an awesome place for after work drinks and apps. They have the best prices on draft beer I have ever seen. The biggest problem I have there is that the menu is WAY too big so it takes me forever to decide! Things I've had that are great: warm dinner rolls, lobster bisque, french onion soup, (huge) greek salad, shepherd's pie, (huge) nachos, jalapeno poppers, fish & chips, eggplant parm, stuffed mushrooms, potato skins. While everything is really good, they also don't skimp on cheese, butter, or grease so this is NOT the place to go if you are trying to eat healthy.

Not the same Glenview I was used to. The new menu is MUCH smaller, the staff isnt as good, and it just felt like a different place. The food wasnt bad, just not like it used to be. I have been coming in for years, and hope I enjoy my next visit more. P.S. - Bring back the eggplant!

Great food, vintage ambience, and great prices. I had the clam and scallop platter which was amazing. The French Onion soup is great as well and very filling, so beware of ordering more than you can handle. Bottom line: YOU MUST CHECK IT OUT!

Great food and great service. Stopped in for lunch - we weer lucky to be there early enough so we didn't have to wait. All the food was delicious - probably best lobster roll I ever had, probably containing the whole lobster inside (sans claws), very nicely done. Clam chowder was also very nice, smokey and light tasting. All the sandwiches were fresh and delicious. I just regret we didn't have enough time to wait for baked clams - I can only imagine how good it would've been (I saw one served at the table next to us - mmmm yum). All portions are very large, reasonably priced. Very good service. Highly recommended.

Huge portions! Yummy blueberry vodka with sprite! Yummy shrimp and linguini with nine shrimps and a shit ton of linguini! Garlic bread for $1 more! Nice service! Great price!

Met a couple of friend's here for lunch. We were relegated to the bar area while we waited for a table and it reminded me of what it was; a suburban bar. Every seat was taken an for those not seated trying to get a beer or stand in a spot "not in the way" was near impossible. All that said the food was really good and the portions were big. I got a nice, peppery pastrami sandwich which was delicious accompanied by a mound of fries. All in all while I'm not in and around Chelmsford much I would definitely visit the Glenview again

This is really old school. Things you will see on the menu are things like Chicken Croquettes, Seafood Newburg, Liver and Onions, etc. Probably one of the biggest menus I've ever seen, full bar, televisions and a very friendly wait staff. Understand that you aren't going to find "upright food on teenie-weenie plates that was handcrafted by sensitive artisans" here, and none of the "A-List" crowd would even dare walk through the front door. All the food comes flat on your plate, in big portions, and very reasonable prices. The quality is great (at least what I had - the Chicken Marsala), and the place is loaded with locals who know where to go. This is a great example of a place that has survived on a very successful menu that they deliver with consistency. I only wish I lived closer, because I'd be in this place *at least* once a week. At about 8pm on a Friday night, the wait was about 35 minutes, so be prepared.

First time there for lunch today, menus are extensive, and it was completely full, so must do something right......tried the calamari app which i figured would be some pre-prepared stuff, for the price, but it was really good and plentiful....my chicken parm was good and wife's tips on a salad pretty good....salads are sort of boring but the blue cheese dressing is great ( bought a pint to go)....service was ok but it is cold near the door, plentiful decent food at a great price, what's not to like...

Whoa whoa whoa.... slow down on the choices, your killin me hea!!! One large menu 3 pages, front and back with small font... think of all the menu items you can choose from! Wait wait wait, that's not all.... there's also another menu on top of that which is 3 pages of food... Once you find something you think you want, stop there because if you keep looking at the menu you'll get overwhelmed and never be able to decide what you want. Mostly American Food with lots of other fabulous choices. It's not your average small mom and pop type of restaurant... it's actually pretty big. The past two times I've gone its been packed, which goes without saying .. they're got great food. It's an old fashioned type of setting, nothing modern... they have odd little nicknack's throughout the place along with this huge wooden Indian, which someday I will steal. They first serve you little rolls which are really good with butter... I recently had the chicken noodle soup there which was really good. The broth they use is REALLY tasty! My friend has got the lasagna from there and most recently got the tortellini in Alfredo sauce, which I tried and was really good. The Alfredo sauce was very rich and creamy. Pretty much anything you order from here will be good. If you want to go out for dinner to feel like your eating homemade food, Glenview is the place to go. The price, quantity and quality overall is great in my book. Don't judge a book by its cover because from the outside it doesn't look like much. Give it a try!

  • Ash T.

Pros: Amazing food...at times it seems like you're eating at home. The Middle eastern lamb sandwich is amazing and I have to say that the onion rings here are the best I've ever had! The tomato sauce on the Chicken Parm & Pasta is great....they bring out fresh, soft....very soft and warm rolls. Wait staff is excellent The price is right and the quantity and quality are great. Had warm bourbon pecan pie for dessert with ice cream and whipped cream on top. It tasted home made. Huge menu... Cons: Limited Beer selection on draft. This place is always packed so expect to wait a bit. Some tables are right below the AC/Heating vents so if you're lucky to sit below these, your amazing experience will be halved.

I'm all for dive restaurants that serve great food. This place has mastered the dive but comes up seriously short on the food. The menu is so massive that there is no way that anything is fresh. If you are looking to get a huge plate of terrible food then this place is for you. Otherwise I would stay away.

Love, love, love the Glenview!!!! Their food is always delicious and you get WAY more then you pay for. I have been here on multiple occasions and have been impressed everytime. We usually go to see the band Mike and Mike play. They are never too loud and can play just about any song you request. If your in the area or feel like going for a drive, stop by the Glenview for a great meal, casual atmosphere and a good time!

On the upside: huge portions, reasonable prices, good food On the downside: long wait times on nights and the weekend, hideous decor, can be cold inside Overall I love this place! It is a great local place to go to and the service is always great.

Okay, I love this place. For the price and quantity they give you, you just can't go wrong. The decor is like going back in time to the70's , but it is what it is. I've tried several dishes here. The first time I went, I had the chicken croquettes or as we like to call them, the grand Tetons (you'll know what I meant when you see them)! For some reason, I love these things. They were a little dry but nothing a little extra gravy couldn't cure. For $7.49 you get two of them plus 2 sides (I had mashed potatoes and butternut squash, which were both very good) and a lil bit o' cranberry sauce. I've also tried the dinner portion of the eggplant napoleon. Thin layers of eggplant and cheese and it's HUGE! It comes with an italian sausage, meatball, garlic bread and salad. Plan, on taking more than 1/2 home! As with most of their dishes, you usually leave with a doggy bag. The chicken parmesan is also a hit. Two big chicken breasts, garlic bread and pasta. I got 3 meals out of that one! I did try the meatloaf and maybe t was an off night but it was very, very salty. They do give you 3 or 4 thick pieces of this along with sides. I think I would've liked it if it hadn't been so damn full of salt. The other day, I went for lunch and had the shrimp casserole. Again, a big portion for lunch but the cracker crumbs also tasted salty. Drinks are great. Good prices, strong and a terrific martini menu. All in all, this is a fave.

We went to this pub on the recommendation of locals and other Yelp reviewers. The outdated decor, drunk townies and borderline unpleasant staff make it the definition of a hole in the wall. I have learned however not to judge a restaurant by it's appearance as some of the best comfort food I have had comes out of places like this. We sat in a super cramped waiting area (many were waiting outside) while a drunk townie was yelling at the hostess to call a locksmith because he couldn't get in to his car. This went on for several minutes and it took several larger male staff to finally convince him to leave the restaurant and take a cab. Our server was very curt and gave us greasy menus. Drink refills were infrequent but the rest of the service was reasonably quick despite the restaurant being very full. I ordered the sheppard's pie and my wife had spaghetti and sausage. My meal was average, a bit on the bland side. My wife's meal however was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure how you can screw up spaghetti and sausage but they sure did. The sausage was crusty on the outside and gooey in the middle. She asked me if it tasted funny so I took a bite and had to spit it out. I couldn't tell if it was undercooked or just plain rancid. Either way it was the worst meal I have had at a restaurant in a long time. Maybe the kitchen was having an off night but our experience put a bad taste in my mouth, we will not be going back.

Only had drinks here...bar is crammed in, filled with Social Security check cashers, large focus on Keno...free popcorn, easy location and a place to hide from the world are the only reasons I'd come

You can give me great food and huge portions all day long, but if your attitude sucks when it's getting near closing time - then I can skip the local yokels in this place. The rug is circa 1971 (original) - nasty dirty looking interior. This is the second time I have been to this hole. I love good food and I can go from small local places to the Four Seasons. The place closes apparently at 9:00 PM. I had a party of 6 adults and 3 kids coming in at 8:50 PM. The first thing as we walk in door some middle aged woman waitress comes over and says "we close in 10 minutes" *(so that means youre still open? right?) I mean if you dont want the business lock the door! Then of course we contemplate and they seated us anyway. So great - the next winner comes over to our table and we chose our menu items asap to at least be considerate of time. (I have been to many a restaurant that seats and serves right up until the last few minutes of closing time - this is why we have hours posted - you can come in and be served between 11 am and 10 pm otherwise we are clooosed am I not correct?) The waitress says - the grill is closed what would you like? (really?) So we order $35 steaks for 3 of us - and a few beers - etc - no you cant have salad - there is only one left (one left? - yummy how fresh!) and then we are told that we can only have a potato. OH - I dont eat starches - I like greens do you have any green vegetables? There may be a little squash left - yes winter squash - maybe green from sitting since last winter? Completely rude. I would way rather go to a clean venue with people that are as friendly as the food is good. There were plenty of bar flies still sitting there ordering drinks though - they werent going anywhere. Shows what a lack of class and professionalism is at this dive. To be honest - the first time I went here I turned around and walked out because of how dirty and crammed it was. The only reason I returned is because there was a crowd of us and it was close - so I was talked into giving it another shot. You can keep your smelly rugs, dirty atmosphere and rude staff I dont care HOW extensive your average menu is or how big the prime rib is - courtesy and professionalism should be as big as the prime rib - oh well

Cold mashed potatoes, dry petite filet mignon, dry lamb shank, cold spinach souffle. A waitress who spent 4/5 of her time talking to the people (they're regulars) behind us. Loud karaoke music right in front of us. Wish I knew why Mr K likes this place. I won't be back.

Update: Wow, now I only seem to go here for the food lately! The food is quite delicious, fresh, and served in mammoth proportions. The stuffed portobello mushrooms are out of this world! The Glenview seems to ALWAYS be packed for lunch and dinner, but fortunately, there is usually not a wait, or if there is it isn't too long. I have been going here for several years, mostly for the bar and karaoke. I have eaten here a couple of times and the food was very good with large portions and priced very reasonably. The karaoke is fabulous! Bruce, the karaoke DJ, is great and will often do backing vocals (very well) for songs. Karaoke is on Thursdays and Saturdays and even when it is crowded you can usually sing at least one song.

ok.. been going there for ages.. first i love the locals.. when you go in you are sure to see familiar faces... i have to give them credit.. they have the best LOBSTER ROLL. it is absolutely stuffed with meat.. not a lot of fillers... and it is on a french roll. never dissapointed when i get it. i have had the i have had many of their pasta meals.. very tasty.. but the portion is HUGE you may need a doggy bag. onion rings are amazing.. but beware of the nachos.. they are absolutely BURIED in cheese. so you may want to ask for light cheese.. as they do not warn you that it is covered in about an inch of cheese... often making the chips soggy. lobster bisque is fabulous as well.. service is off and on.. depending on the night.. and depending on the waiter/ress... i have had some really nice ones.. and some that act like that could not be bothered by your needs... but i do love the decor... with all the beer steins.. local gem. .

  • Zoila A.

The Glenview is definitely a neighborhood place. I've eaten here probably a half a dozen time over the last couple of years. It's always crowded (especially the bar) with a wait and very noisy, not the place to go if you want a nice quiet meal. Sometimes you have to wait outside since the waiting area is very very small. The food portions are large and the meals are decent. The menu is very extensive so no matter who you bring, they will find something they like. The prices are reasonable too. I went with my boyfriend a while back and they accidentally through out his leftovers, so they made him a whole new meal to take home. Not bad. I would definitely go back.

Lobster roll, lobster roll, LOBSTER ROLL! This is the only thing I ever get from this place so my review is based solely on this fine dish. The lobster comes on an 8" or so thick sourdough bun and is heaping over. I often ask for two hot dog buns grilled and toasted on the side as I can easily fill these up and still have plenty left over for the sour dough roll. They do not charge for the extra hot dog buns. I always go home with some leftovers. At $20 for the entree, it may be a few dollars more than the average when speaking of lobster rolls, but you very easily get twice the amount of lobster. Also, there is not much mayonnaise mixed in or onions which I feel can really overpower the delicate taste of the lobster. Its a must-get when you visit the Glenview!

Will always love the Glenview. You cannot go wrong here! I grew up going to this restaurant. The menu is huge and the food is always good! The place is a bit outdated but we always overlook that as it's just a good place to get good food in large portions. I heart the Glenview.

  • Nico H.

The food I get here is usually great. I was a little disappointed in the service the last time I was there. I didn't think the section was that busy, but I found myself having to get up for napkins, utensils, constantly seek the waitresses attention for water or even placing a drink order. I've been coming here for a long time. The menus (all three of them) offer many choices of food, almost too many. It can be difficult to order. My philosophy is what am I in the mood for and then search the menu for that. It's usually there. I will say that this place gets packed. There is usually a wait out the door. I heard you can call ahead to put your name in now.

  • Bear Paw B.

There is a reason this place is busy with an hour wait any day of the week. You get HUGE portions and the price is cheap. It is a laidback pub atmosphere and has live music on weekend nights. The bar has the games on. Only problem is they don't take reservations.

Never had a bad time here, until Sunday 4/3/11. Waited 10 minutes at the front desk to put our names in and never saw anyone. We left and the people behind is did as well. This place is always busy and should be staffed to accommodate its customer flow. Truly disappointed

Holy moly! This place is the epitome of a local restaurant serving great food! Went here yesterday for lunch and WOW, we loved the food! The place itself isn't much to look at - and to be honest, I never wanted to go here. But wow, what an excellent lunch we had! Inside, it's a plain-looking place. A little cramped, kind of dark - lots of beer steins in cases up along the walls. Dark bar area on the right. I was informed that a LOT of locals come here and that it is always packed. Many of them have their own favorite seats - I was afraid we were taking someone's spot just sitting down! So, that's a little weird. But- it was completely full and this is 3:00 on a Saturday! Were people eating lunch or dinner? Me, I was just lazy - or busy - whatever. FOOD: I got chicken croquettes which were very good - they were unlike any I've had before BUT I quite liked them. They were ENORMOUS, and I could only finish one, because it also came with waffle fries and onion rings. And not like a small side but like a TON of onion rings and fries! I easily had enough for another meal after that. My friend got the chicken carbonara, which was also GREAT. We both had some of it, and barely made a dent in it. We MAYBE ate half of it. The food here is stick-to-your-ribs Americana, and I love it. This is my place: Shepherds pie, meatloaf, chicken croquettes (I NEVER see these anymore and I've always adored them - a dish from my childhood). Don't go here for the atmosphere, go here for the FOOD!! I'm already drooling over the leftovers I brought for lunch! YAY!!!!

This place is a pretty cool townie type bar, especially on Sat nights (Karaoke!!!). The food is very American, somewhat greasy and heavy, but karaoke is a blast. First of all, there are these regulars that sing on Sat nights. Some of them bring their own CDs. As the night goes on, sometimes the dancing starts. There's no dance floor. Just people dancing between the tables. Good times.

  • Dave M.

Hidden Gem!!! This has got to be one of the area's largest menus, ranging from $6.99 Shepard's Pie to $9.95 8 oz. Prime Rib, to Tilapia,.

  • Lnc T.

My friend brags about how amazing their shepherd's pie is here so he brought me here one day for lunch! It was really awkward at first, considering we def. brought some diversity into the place; I must say. The waitress was really friendly and made us feel very comfortable! We both ordered the shepherd's pie. When it came out, the portion was enough to feed 3 people! It was good, but I wished it had a little more flavor. Another friend joined us that day and she ordered one of their burgers. It looked delicious and she looked like she really enjoyed it. The prices are very moderate and you def. get your money's worth in return!

I have been coming here for years and it used to be so much better! I don't know if they changed ownership or something? My last visit was mediocre at best. We had a reservation, so our table was ready when we got there so that was good. Our waitress was stressed from the beginning which was a turn off...she maybe shouldn't have had our table of 6 people...drinks were slow to get to the table and when they arrived, my friends beer was flat. This isn't the first time that has happened. I asked for coffee and she seemed annoyed by that. We ordered our food, no appetizers, but it came out fairly quickly which I was happy about. But my mother in laws mashed potatoes were cold. We couldn't flag our waitress so we stopped someone else flying by and got the potatoes zapped for a minute in the microwave. My brother in law always gets the turkey dinner but believe it or not, its not on the menu anymore! So he got a cheeseburger. It was good. I got chicken, broccoli and ziti and it was very good, good portion too! My husband loves prime rib, so he got that and said it was really delicious. The food has always been good, but it just seems the whole experience is hit or miss now...cheap, big portions and okay service. I think we'll go again still, but at an off time when its not so busy.

Huge portions for VERY low prices! It's homestyle cooking with generous portions, friendly waitstaff (say hey to Timmy at the bar - one of the nicest waiters/bartenders I've ever met!), tasty drinks and a phenomenal value. We always have leftovers - enough for dinner the next night - and takeout is just as generous. Try the bleu cheese dressing, a house specialty made by them and available by the pint or quart - great for serving with your best buffalo wing recipe.
