Roughly 20 or so years ago, this then teenage boy discovered a love for frozen yogurt, when the then "it" froyo chain opened up TCBY stores across an unassuming Massachusetts. It wasn't ice cream, it wasn't soft serve... it was yogurt! And it was good! Fast forward to today. I'd been looking forward to this place opening after reading and hearing all sorts of things about this amazingly delicious Pinkberry concoction that folks on the west coast couldn't get enough of. Passing by Harvard Square today, I saw it had opened, and walked in to try.And like the virgin who gives up her innocence to that ratty jock who claims he loves her just because he wants a piece of HER Pinkberry, only to leave her the next day, I find myself feeling more than a little bit of disappointment and remorse. In fairness, all I knew is that this place serves healthier frozen yogurt. A sign on the wall suggested it is tart, which concerned me slightly, but only a bit. When I put the first spoonful of Green Tea yogurt into my mouth though, I must have winced noticeably. It tastes like the stuff is mixed with a ridiculously overpowering berry-flavored powder, whose strength would put sour patch kids to shame, with the tiniest hint of green tea flavor. And so I am left to believe that this "amazing" treat I've heard so much about, is nothing more than hype. Tell enough people it's brilliant, they will start to believe it... despite their own tastebuds. Pair that with unbelievably slow service, and pretentious prices that such a hideous flavor doesn't deserve to charge, and I will surely be steering clear of this berry in the future.

I work in Harvard square and I was so excited when pinkberry opened! The fro yo is delicious! I usually just get the original because it's expensive enough and having a flavor ups it like a dollar! Doesn't seem like much unless you go there more then once a week! The one thing that really annoys me is the fact that they leave a huge whole in the middle of the fro yo! Its kind of a rip off. So you're usually better off just getting a small and get what you really paid for. Also, depending on who's serving you gauges how many toppings you'll get! They should really be more consistant with that. Ugh. Overall, I'm going to try berryline because it seems like a better deal for your money and I support local any day!

I tried Pinkberry in Harvard Suare pretty recently and I gotta say, it was okay. The original flavor machine was out of order so I opted for pomagranate with mochi and pecans. We got a large size, but the guy rang it up as a medium! Dang, what a mistake but I wasn't the one ordering so I didn't say anything. ;) The mochi was delicious and went well with the pecans and the yogurt. The yogurt itself was a little disappointing. Perhaps they had the temperature set a bit too high, but the consistency was not nice. And perhaps it was just the flavor, but the yogurt ended up being so tangy, it kind of made me tongue crackle and sting. Maybe I have a weak tongue, but I've never experienced that kind of tart-ness before, haha. I gotta go back to try their original and other flavors, though. I can't wait to throw a crapload of toppings on 'em, too.

Two stars for the simple fact that this is.....a Pinkberry...located in the Boston area. As a Cali girl, I've grown to love and appreciate the fine quality of Pinkberry froyo. No, they will never offer you lots of flavor options but their froyo quality is high above all else out there. However, Bostonians are getting a rip off. The toppings counter is disgustingly messy, the staff are unfriendly and snappy, and when I stopped in last night for my favorite (peanutbutter) my 'swirler' literally slapped the toppings on my froyo like she was slathering a box cake with grocery store frosting. Just sub-par. A shame, since the Pinkberry franchise strives to excel in the level of service they deliver their customers. I would assume that given the geographic distance from this location and the Pinkberry HQ, this store gets away with being lazy.

I love this Pinkberry. They're always nice and I love whatever flavors they have to offer when I'm around. But I never have a problem falling back on what I usually get because it's just that good!

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!!!!!! If I could have the chocolate yogurt with the brownies, almonds, strawberries, and the peanut butter cruch I would be in heaven!!!!! SOOOOOO GOOODD!!!!! Worth all of the calories!!!

As a fro-yo nut from California I'm more used to the serve yourself frozen yogurt shops that just charge you by the ounce. There was a bit of a frozen yogurt void when I moved to Cambridge, but that is certainly over now. The staff at this place is wonderful. They are ALWAYS helpful and courteous. The storefront is always immaculate, which I definitely appreciate. Finally, they consistently have interesting flavors. Right now they have a blood orange flavor that I am in love with. I wish I had space in my freezer for a stock pile of this stuff. The salted caramel flavor is also delectable!

This was alright. I got the pomegranate flavor. It was tangy and bold, but I didn't like the consistency very much. For a MINI size it was 3.25. Too much for so little. Probably won't come back here again. Although I regret not trying the peppermint flavor.

I had the worst chocolate shake at this Pinkberry. The woman who took my order clearly didn't know how to make one (I can be a little forgiving, especially if she is new), and she looked at instructions from a manual. It's fine to look something up quickly if you will deliver a product worth the $5.62 I paid for it. But it was THE WORST. First, I ended up waiting a long time for her to make it because she kept messing it up. She kept blending it then opening up the lid to mash up the ingredients so it would actually blend (she asked if I wanted to add a topping and she added some milk chocolate shavings, but maybe added too much). After a couple unsuccessful tries, she asked her co-worker to give her the milk which she added more to make it blend more easily. It tasted exactly as I expected after watching this whole process--heavy on the milk, light on chocolate, and very chunky. About halfway through the shake, I ran out of liquid and all that remained were chocolate chunks of ice. It was gross. I'm never getting a shake here, or probably anything here again. Berryline is close enough and so much better and cheaper. Don't get ripped off here. Go somewhere else.

Delicious frozen yogurt. Definitely try the mochi because it is amazing. Little expensive and you get unlimited toppings for a fixed price but really great snack for a pretty healthy option.

my friend told me about pink berry and keep telling me try it when I see one. Ben and jerry is right down street too. J.p licks is down street too we end up picking this places. Frozen yogurt with any topping. :) but we keep just fruits kiwi, strawberry and blueberry. To me it was not that sweet due to fact we just order small with regular favor. it kind of expensive if you have to order for three people so we end up sharing the frozen yogurt with order of small one. This places is pack had to wait about 5-10 mins to get or order. the line was out of the door and there was no seating area. overall this places has good idea of frozen yogurt.

  • Brandin D.

I seem to have an addiction to this place. I've never liked tart frozen yogurt in the past, but Pinkberry changed my mind. I've tried many of the flavors including plain, watermelon, pomegranate, green tea, salted caramel, mango, chocolate, and coconut. The salted caramel was amazing and I wouldn't choose those flavors outside of Pinkberry. My favorite is a mix of mango and coconut with fresh mango and toasted almonds toppings. I say go for the small because the toppings are more evenly distributed. And don't forget your frequent buyer card!

  • Wendy K.

Not big on frozen yogurt given my vegan approach to life but tasted some of the flavors since my kids really wanted to eat there. So, so good. Not cheap but the flavors were lovely (especially the salted caramel). Also like the fact that the yogurt tastes like yogurt! Expect to wait.

    (3)
  • Kelley E.

I like Pinkberry. Their salted caramel yogurt is awesome, and I'm not sure I care to try any of their other flavors, given how good it is. I love the fact that you can get as many toppings as you want, for one price. This is how toppings should be everywhere! And they have mochi! But here are my hangups. It's too pricey, and the prices grow exponentially with the sizes - so I stick to small. It's not local, and is potentially taking business away from our own homegrown Berryline (which, granted, has a limited yogurt flavor selection, and charges per topping). There's always a gigantic line, and the employees have a confusing serving setup that doesn't help things along. Plus they don't fill the yogurt cup very well - I thought it was just me, but it sounds like everyone always finds that big empty hole in the center.

SWEET RAINBOW-BLADING GODS! I am so excited Pinkberry finally made it's way to Massachusetts. I have been getting my fro yo fix at Berryline for the past 3 years, but Pinkberry surpasses them by mileeees. There's a line, but it usually moves fast and there's more room and it's much more open than the other froyo places in the area. I wish they were still serving coconut, it was DIVINE. But, alas, seasonal. If you haven't tried it, the watermelon is AMAZING, with raspberries and yogurt chips, perfect! The staff is pretty friendly and it's clean too.

Came in on a rainy day (i.e. NO LINE). Love the original w/pom juice & dark chocolate crisps & mango :)

  • Ed N.

waited in long line for staff that was confused and busy socializing with themselves. Ordered a smoothie, staff suggested "fruit gelatin bubbles" (like bubble tea) to put in after blending. given a straw the size of a pencil. when I asked for a bigger straw for the "bubbles" manager told me that's all they had and that bubbles were really never meant for smoothies. first and last time. expensive, fruit wasn't fresh, rude staff.

It's pretty difficult to say anything bad about ice cream-type places, but I just didn't think this place was worth the money. The staff needs to stop talking with each other and get the lead out!

I love Pinkberry in general, however at this particular location I've been there twice in two weeks, and both times they did not have their original flavor.... really!?

As a consumer, I love Pinkberry; I think other reviews can cover the deliciousness of their product sufficiently. This review is for their party delivery option. Thanks to a recent Groupon, my office decided to see if we could addict the remaining fifty percent of non-frozen-yogurt eaters by bringing in Pinkberry. The entire process was incredibly easy and Pinkberry contacted us several times to let us know of snags in the process - first the manager of the Back Bay store to let us know that he had transferred our order to the Harvard Square store, then the Harvard Square store manager to discuss some issues with the flavors to use. Delivery was fast and efficient, products were already put into covered cups (which was great for sticking them in the freezer for latecomers), and they left the ice for us to use in a (vain) attempt to prevent any melting from occurring before the hordes of the office could descend.

Attended: August 10, 2015 We received a very friendly hello when we first walked in even though the counter person was scooping ice cream for another person. It was nice to feel welcomed. There are not as many flavors as other Pinkberry places, but of the ones they had, I felt they were good. The flavors were original, blueberry, strawberry margarita, and mango. I got the blueberry, which tasted delicious. Some of the fruits looked a little overripe or old. I didn't get raspberries, which I normally do, because they looked a little squishy.

Pinkberry is on the better side for chain froyo. They use real yogurt in the froyo and you can definitely taste it, particularly in the original tart. They don't have a limit on toppings (within reason), so you can go for variety over quantity here. I love that they always have a broad range of berries and fruits, as well as a variety of candy toppings, including organic gummy bears. The service at this store is usually quite timely and the staff are quite friendly. Seating can be limited at this location but generally there's enough space for 2-3 without a wait.

Froyo: 4/5 Stars Service: 3/5 Stars We did a larger catered order for a small get together that we were hosting. We ordered 3 pints and then some toppings separately. Although they were nice enough on the phone, when I came into the store, there apparently is a policy which doesn't allow for people to get more than 5 small cups even for a catering order... And I even offered to pay for additional cups but they didn't allow it. I don't know who the manager is, but they are missing out (this is coming from an economics major)! Myself, I prefer self serve places, but the location of this pinkberry is so amazing that I'm sure they'll have pretty good business for a while to come. I'd just recommend they figure out their catering system if they want the big bucks ;)

Basically what you'd expect to find at a Pinkberry location. Delicious goodness that you can justify as "healthy" to yourself.

  • Aaron K.

Love Pinkberry for their original flavor. Perfect balance of tart and sweet for me. Their prices are starting to get outrageously high though, close to 6$ a pop for the smallest size with 4 toppings! At least they piled the toppings on! (so much so that I had to have several bites before I could start walking). Great location in the heart of Harvard SQ and a good place to satisfy your fro-yo fix.

  • Nandanie S.

I had been here before and it's meh. Asked for a two samples of the raspberry white chocolate and the sea salt chocolate. The raspberry white chocolate didn't taste like either of those flavors. It tasted like the original with a hint of raspberry. The sea salt chocolate just tasted like chocolate. I added yogurt chips, granola, and mango and it filled me up. The email announcing these flavors got me super excited, but to no avail. Staff were nice, just seemed unhappy. Maybe they were having a bad day...who knows. I'll be back to check it out again soon. I usually frequent the Newbury St. or Prudential locations in the city, but this location is nice too.

So, Ive never had Pinkberry before and thought I'd give it a try... Bad idea, i will never go back. I ordered a blueberry pomegranate smoothie. The menu said it was made with fresh fruit and greek yogurt. While waiting in line, you could see the absolute chaos and disarray the staff was in. 3 of the 6 staff people were asking each other how you make a smoothie and to top it off i saw one of the staff eating candy from the buffet if toppings as he was attending to the guy in front of me order. How gross, no one was wearing gloves. Also the person behind the register kept telling everyone she did not know was she was doing. When I finally got my smoothie, it looked like a 5 year old made it. It did not taste well at all. For the price, its a complete rip off! Never going back!

Standard pinkberry food. Pretty small. Staff never looked too happy. Another customer: can I have ** Staff: No Customer: oh... Staff: you already have 3 toppings *slams cup down*

Normally, I'm not a fan of Pinkberrys. They are one of the few froyo places that hasn't fully converted to the clearly superior service model of pay-per-oz, and instead your topping placement and proportions are still left to the mercy of their employees. Furthermore, I had a rather off putting experience at a Pinkberry in Manhattan. Much to my initial chagrin, I found myself in Harvard Square the other night with the need to satiate my sweet tooth without the desire to pile on all the unhealthiness of JP Licks. Enter this Pinkberry. I came in one night and asked for a sample of the vanilla latte (I almost never ask for samples, because I know it can be kind of a pain, even if it is their job). Then I asked for a sample of the chocolate hazelnut. (I think the first time I've ever asked for multiple samples). The girl behind the counter was cheerful and happy to give it to me. When she saw my indecision between the two, she asked if I would like to try her recommendation and she gave me the swirl (I would have thought of this before, but I hadn't noticed they were from the same dispenser). Boom. I was sold. Add in some chocolaty toppings, and I left a happy customer.

    (4)
  • Deborah C.

I hope to God that the miserable chick behind the counter deliberately ripped me off because there is no way that an espresso sized cup of yogurt cost 6 bucks!! I asked for some granola on it and she put a quarter sized portion and then glared at me, daring me to say something. (This was Tuesday night at 8pm and she was Asian, in case her boss is perusing these reviews) Now I am in the business-I know what it is like to work with the public and I am far from a jerk. Kid, I suggest you work in the back of the house because I almost went over the counter to snap your neck! I will return to the froyo place around the corner next to Staples, even though the Pinkberry was a superior product.

  • Ellie L.

I would say the fro-yo year is just average. The texture is not grainy but it also doesn't taste fresh. In terms of the toppings, the selection is fairly standard but after having fresh mochi from berryline, the processed mochi here is just not as satisfying. In addition, the serving sizes are rather small.

The yogurt is nice enough, I guess, but the customer service at this location leaves a lot to be desired. It's never NOT a hassle. Staff seem to be poorly trained and managed.

    (2)
  • Dave M.

it's the same cute pinkberry design. never really like how i can't control my own topping choice. they don't have as many flavors as the other froyo places or toppings. it's not a bad place to get your froyo fill but there are better places for slightly less the price.

    (3)
  • Di L.

I really don't understand what the Pinkberry hype is about. They weren't the first on the scene and they don't deliver the best product. And there is no dearth of competition in the frozen yogurt market. Of Pinkberry in general: The original flavor has a mealy consistency and tastes like it is made with artificial sweetener and powdered milk. The flavored yogurts are better, but still taste a bit watered down, though I really like the salted caramel. They must do this on purpose, because the flavored yogurts cost more. Toppings are a flat price though, and they have an adequate selection. This Pinkberry specifically: It is tiny! There is barely enough room to sit or stand or decide what to buy. The only bathroom is in the basement, and it is shared with the 2- story Starbucks next door. This means the toilets are used more often than a village bicycle and about as clean. The best thing about this location is that it is the geographic equivalent of the chocolate and tabloids stand at the checkout counter. Maybe that's saying something too, because you never see filet mignon or The Economist at the checkout counter. I would go here if I were dying for frozen yogurt and had no time to spare, and I do sometimes. However, Pinkberry is definitely a better business model than anything else.

  • Vicky W.

Average froyo (if you compare it to the local Berryline) but a great selection of toppings. The store is really clean though and some seating, which makes it a good place to meet up with people one on one. Also pretty overpriced, but so is most froyo places in the area.

  • Barbara A.

There has not been a time that we have visited this place that it was not packed and out the door. The kids behind the counter could not be sweeter and are more than helpful in the tasting department. We, as a family, are Pinkberry fans, so we always like their products but the lack of ability to sit and the long wait at this location is a main reason why I don't like coming to this one too often. I personally like most of their flavors -- original, salted caramel, pomegranate -- and I really like the fresh fruit choices, as well as their interesting toppings (like mochi). This is my favorite frozen yogurt chain but probably because it reminds me of a little shop we like to visit in Playa Vista, CA.

In the late night after dance practice, we made our way to Pinkberry to escape the humidity and heat of a too small dance studio. Though it was barely forty degrees, we sat at the tables outside as we shared our large original Pinkberry filled with endless fruit toppings. A good treat after rehearsal? Yes. But good to make the treat worth the price? Nahh. The yogurt is quite tart and it is not very even. I could taste clumps and the sugar. You want it to be undetectable. The tartness seemed to try to cover the mix of artificial ingredients, and failed to be full on bursting in flavor. The mochi topping was commercialized and overall, besides the experience of a bunch of us sitting in the cold feasting on Pinkberry, the food experience itself was quite mediocre.

From Pinkberry's own website: "Swirling Daily from 11 to 11!". Now, this may be subject to interpretation, but here's what I took away from this statement: If you come between 11AM and 11PM, they will be open to serve. Well, Pinkberry, we showed up to the Harvard Square location at 10:30PM to locked doors and to a pair of apathetic employees who were in the midst of a closing routine. I get it: you're very sorry, business was slow, you made a management decision, you had ten MBAs do an analysis and determined it was a no-brainer decision to close. Well, here's what happened: you disappointed my wife, who was excited all day for your yogurt for her favorite dessert. And, last time, Pinkberry, you didn't have any cookie dough for my small, plain yogurt. So, here's my take-away after two misses with this location: Don't trust their website. Don't expect them to be open when they say they're going to be open. Call ahead and ask exactly how much of each topping you're so excited about they actually have left. Or... if there was only a way to get the same thing at home without the uncertainty... Now, in the unlikely event they're open and have what you want, my experience is that they're pretty good. So, if you're up for a high stakes fro-yo gamble, this place is for you.

Tasty little sweet + tart frozen yogurt. You can get a mini cup, which is my preference, with super fresh blueberries and raspberries. Toppings are all-you-can-pile-comfortably-in-the-cup, which I admit in a mini cup is a bit hard to do (so if you like toppings, get the small cup for a lot more space for toppings). The seating is very sparse - only four tables or so. The Starbucks next door was where the Pinkberry employee directed me to eat my Pinkberry, but a sign in the Starbucks stairwell said no outside food. I ate my Pinkberry outside by a pile of dirty snow. Totally worth it. I love Pinkberry.

When it comes to the frozen yogurt craze, I think Pinkberry does it best. I like that you don't have to wonder how much your cup weighs and all of that. Also key is the flavor. Paying no attention to how healthy the yogurt is, it definitely taste the best out of any other frozen yogurt places I have tried. The toppings seem fresh and taste delicious. If it didn't cost so much I would probably get it more often, but maybe it is a good thing that it is a treat.

I recently found out that this place has opened, and I actually hung out with one of the Managers of this place since he is a friend of a friend. With the opening of this place in Harvard Square, I think the stage has been set for one of the biggest duels in Harvard Square: Which place will win over the hearts and minds of the people who visit and reside in Harvard Square in terms of frozen yogurt? Will it be the small, regional, local and homegrown movement of BerryLine, or the great rising national phenomenon named Pinkberry that has conquered the best state (California) and invaded the best city in the USA (New York City)? For now, I think BerryLine, but Pinkberry can be really competitive. Since this place has opened, one thing I did not like about coming to this place is the queues, but the first time I came, the queue was small during a rainy afternoon. The second time I came, the queue was even longer. I have not had lychee flavored frozen yogurt in a while, so I decided to get a small lychee flavor mixed with mango flavor. I got some mochi, blueberries, strawberries with a scoop of Praline Hazelnut. Loved the flavor combination. The lychee was not too sweet but creamy, and I loved the creaminess of the mango flavor. Blueberries and strawberries were juicy and fairly fresh. Mochi was decent, and the Praline Hazelnut added some more crispy sweetness, making the frozen yogurt tastier. I came back again for the lychee and mango flavor, this time with pineapple, strawberries and blueberries and in a medium size. It was just as good, and the fruits were fairly fresh. One advantage this place has is accessibility. It's actually next to one of the entrances to the Harvard Red Line T Station, and really close to the Harvard COOP Bookstore. Are there any other disadvantages besides the long queues? Probably the prices. A medium sized frozen yogurt could run up to $6.50. Will I keep going to this place for frozen yogurt whenever I am in Harvard Square? Only if I need to spend some more money for the Praline Hazelnut topping and if I really want mango/lychee-flavored frozen yogurt, which this place has been consistent in serving. I think this place can be really competitive, as long as they are consistent with the quality of the toppings and flavors, and find some way to reduce the queues significantly. Overall, this place probably will be my secondary choice for frozen yogurt in Harvard Square.

This place is small, especially when u have a line and only 2-3 person behind the counter and one cashier. First time coming here today with my daughter and her two friends. Being kids they took a few minutes longer to decide what they want on their yogurt which cause the little back up behind us. But than the back up consists of adults who acted so immaturely because they had to wait a few more minutes to order their froyo. Really? I am proud of my girls because they act more maturely than those old hags who seem to be in a rush to suck down their froyo.

  • Annie N.

I don't like this one as much as the other place.

    (2)
  • Cerina H.

Unusually small place which means you probably won't get seats. They probably did this because people tend to eat it outside during the summer. But this just makes it difficult during the winter...oh well, it's still good but I don't come here when it's cold.

    (3)
  • Corey L.

So I didn't quite enjoy my froyo, but I think I know why. That said, I'm giving it a 4 because it's pretty damn cool and my lady friend quite enjoyed hers. It's cool because they have a few base yogurts (including salted caramel - how good is that?) and a crapload of toppings. The girl was not sparing me the toppings when she added them. And they also list the calorie count of everything. And it's not super huge - so I can look for it and see it, but if you'd rather enjoy the sweetness in ignorance, you can probably avoid knowing it. But then you'd probably be getting ice cream. Anyway, my mistake was that I got salted caramel (which was really good) with brownie bits, chocolate covered pretzels, and hazelnut crisps. I mixed it all together and it all sorta blended into a caramel-chocolate mix. My lady friend got salted caramel and various fruit toppings. Hers was better. I think the contrast between her flavors, still being salty and sweet worked really well. I overdid it and got a mush. It wasnt bad, just not great. But the place itself was really good and a smarter man would have enjoyed it more

I definitely have an unhealthy obsession with Pinkberry frozen yogurt! The Harvard Square location was the first time that I had ever experienced Pinkberry, and a frozen yogurt shop in general, soon after it opened. It is SO delicious, and definitely worth the price. The Pinkberry rewards program lets you get a free small yogurt with toppings after every 10 Pinkberry cups you purchase, so if you're a VERY frequent customer like I am, take advantage of that deal! I bring all my friends and family to Pinkberry, and the Harvard Square location is so easy to get to. When I moved to Central PA for college, I often had Pinkberry withdrawals! It's just that good. Pinkberry also has very high quality yogurt compared to that of the do-it-yourself places like Orange Leaf and Zinga, so give it a try, you won't regret it!

Love Pinkberry! In my opinion, the classic tart yogurt at Pinkberry beats out what you can get at Fraiche, Red Mango, or any of those self-serve by-the-weight-places. A trick with toppings: Never list out all the toppings that you want all at once. Instead, tell them the first topping that you want and wait for them to stop putting that topping inside your cup. Then tell them the second topping that you want and wait...then the third...then the fourth. I am sure that I am not the only one who does this, and this probably really annoys the workers at Pinkberry, but I've done some experimentation and you DEFINITELY get more toppings that way. :)

My smoothie tasted like yogurt. Not strawberries, kiwis, mango, or pineapple - just yogurt. A big tall glass of liquid, slightly sour yogurt. The dude also got our orders mixed up about 5 times before he attempted to make the smoothies - lots of 'splainin' to do.

I've been hearing about Pinkberry from the other coast from some time, and really thought it was just total hype. The tart flavor of the frozen yogurt combined with a great selection of fruit makes for a superb desert. They move through the lengthy lines pretty quickly, and the prices are cheap (think under 4 bucks). You can always switch out the fruit for a selection of candy or just go without the toppings!

Not the first frozen yogurt café near the Square, but certainly the newest and the cleanest! I came here today after lunch to sample the pomegranate-flavored yogurt, and ended up waltzing out with a small lychee with ALL the fruit toppings (see pics for their variety of toppings). Unlike Berryline further down the street, Pinkberry has five yogurt flavors available, alongside the original tart yogurt flavor: pomegranate, lychee, mango, green tea and chocolate. It's similarly priced to Berryline, but the staff don't seem so jaded, and the building feels sturdy and bright. They are also currently offering free loyalty cards: buy ten, get some free fro-yo on your eleventh visit. Not bad at all! This place looks to make a killing in profit - it overlooks the main entrance to the T and seems to be swarming with energy. Only time will tell if it can maintain its cleanliness and excellent customer service. So far, though, it's doing a bad-ass job!

The consistency has gotten better here. Now they always make sure to weigh your order before you receive it. I do have one big complaint though: the store now has a weird smell reminiscent of dirty, stagnant dish water and cleaning solution. A couple times my husband and I actually walked out of the store because the odor was so strong and I didn't want to eat any fruit toppings that had been sitting out and absorbing whatever was in the air. That and when the line is long it's not possible to hold your breath for 10-15 minutes. Maybe they can switch to some all natural cleaning products and/or get some better ventilation. We should be hit with the smell of fresh fruit and greek yogurt when we enter!

I love and frequent many Pinkberry locations, but the kids who work here really need work on keeping the food surfaces clean. Last time I was here, I was sketched out by fruit flies and how dirty the tables and toppings area was. This is the most convenient Pinkberry for me, I hope a manager reads this and cleans this place up!

Totally addicted. This place is ridiculously expensive. Is it worth the money? I try not to think about it. The yogurt is always top notch and the fruit is always perfectly ripe and fresh. The lines are totally nuts and I wait a crazy amount of time for it, but somehow I keep coming back because like I began with, I'm addicted. Pros: best froyo & fruit toppings in boston Cons: prices + lines

Yay! Pinkberry in Harvard Square. Even though I don't live near Harvard Square, I'm still glad that they opened one up there. It is so conveniently located...it is literally right there when you come up from the main stairs of the T stop. Specifically, it will be the left of you once you come up the stairs. Like a lot of the other Pinkberry locations, this place is small. When I visited, there was a line and despite there being 3-4 employees, it went kind of slow. Once I have froyo craving, my patience becomes limited. But they were lucky that I was in a good mood...however, I guess the girl in front of my wasn't, so she just left the line. Points for me! I like how Pinkberry now has the option of unlimited toppings. I will never get sick of their original flavor. Pinkberry was the first froyo that I had when there was only one in NYC...I give them credit for showing me the glory of froyo. I don't think any other place could mimic the distinct flavor of Pinkberry. Thanks, Pinkberry...thank you so much.

I was in line the day after this place opened. Tip: go on an overcast, or even rainy, day to skip the lines. Pinkberry tastes great in any weather. I recommend the pomegranate and caramel flavors. Ask about a frequent buyer card - 10 stamps gets you a free small with toppings!

Show me a plate filled with various frozen desserts: a klondike bar, a milkshake, a popsicle, soft serve, gelato, and frozen yogurt-- and I will take the yogurt over the others every single time. That tangy goodness just makes my taste buds and tummy dance with joy. So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon the new Pinkberry that is a mere stone's throw from the Harvard T stop. I tried their new salted caramel yogurt, which was amazing. I had it with the "crispy crepes" topping, which might just be my new favorite yogurt garnish. I went back the next day to try an original (I like to establish a baseline before I get all exploratory) to see if it was a fluke. Nope, still amazing. I do hope this new fro-yo haven doesn't take away too much business from Berry Line, which is locally owned, a short walk from the T, and also amazing. Either way, fro-yo completely rocks my world, and with the sweltering summer months approaching, you are NOT going to hear any complaints from me that there is another delicious yogurt option in the 'bridge!

SOLD!! Pros: -Many, many flavors of tangy frozen yogurt. I got the chocolate. Unlike Berryline's "chocolate" this tasted REALLY chocolate-ey and like real soft serve (but with far less calories). -Tons of toppings. Almost anything you can think of, including some pretty interesting one. -As many toppings as you want for a set price. No charging per topping here! Cons: -It's expensive for what it is. Way more expensive than Berryline, but the toppings are unlimited. -The service was atrociously slow. I'm excited to try all of the unique and classic flavors!

I don't care what else you get with your Pinkberry order, but there are two MUSTS: -original flavored yogurt -crunchy dark chocolate topping

Haven't been to a Pinkberry in ages, but I was glad I made the stop last night to try some of the new flavors! Salted Caramel and Peach were both win and I'm reminded now of why I went there so frequently back home and in NYC =D

Going to Pinkberry when I am a diehard BerryLine fan feels a little bit like cheating on a significant other. I knew Pinkberry before I met BerryLine, but ever since BerryLine and I had started seeing each other regularly, I hadn't given Pinkberry a second thought. Until now. The Harvard Square Pinkberry had been taunting me for quite some time, and today I caved in. I'm glad I did. I had forgotten the distinct advantages Pinkberry has over BerryLine, namely being able to load as many toppings as can fit atop your creamy froyo. For $4.23, I got a 5 oz small peppermint frozen yogurt topped with brownie bites, yogurt chips, chocolate chips, crushed oreos, and...CHEESECAKE BITES! Compare that to BerryLine, where a 5 oz small and two toppings is $4.35. As to the frozen yogurt itself, the peppermint that I tried was not too sweet, but perfectly pepperminty! I tried a sample of the original before ordering, just to refresh my memory, and it's hard to say whose original would win - Pinkberry or BerryLine's. They're both so good! I do love BerryLine. I do. And I hope it'll forgive me for straying. But Pinkberry has won a permanent place in my heart, so my froyo loyalty is officially divided.

Why do all frozen yogurt places have a combination of color and fruit in their name? Beats me. It doesn't matter I guess, this place could be named Mauve Kumquat or Beige Rambutan for all I care. The point is, it's delicious. The lines here on a summer night are sometimes ridiculous. They also got rid of their mango pearls and strawberry pearls which I loved. Still, nothing beats an original flavor frozen yogurt with mochi, raspberry, and kiwi pieces. Yum.

  • Helen H.

This is generally a really busy location with only several seats, but the staff is very friendly and patient. I asked them for many samples and they did not make a face at me as some other girls at other froyo places. I enjoy going to this Pinkberry.

  • Colin B.

It's frozen yogurt, so it's never going to be bad...but there are two vastly better yogurt places, with lower prices, right in the neighborhood. We had the salted caramel yogurt right after they opened and it was good, but the rest have been pretty forgettable, and the price is just plain higher than I want to pay for a dessert. Seating is also lacking.

  • Meka A.

Chicks love this place. It's like their low calorie guilty pleasure. This place serves frozen yogurt with a variety of toppings (fresh fruit, candies, cereal, waffle crisps, etc). They somehow manage to charge and arm and a leg for a few ounces of fro-yo, but its generally worth it.

  • Amanda L.

While Pinkberry is at the bottom of my fro-yo trifecta (Chill & Berryline being at the top obvs) their salted caramel is something that I'm pretty sure was sent down by Jesus himself. I love watching them click the salt on top. "Please sir, may I have some more?" *Click* *Click* *Click* There seem to ALWAYS be a line out the door, but it's all worth it just for that elixir of salted caramel. GET IN MY MOUTH!

  • Terry D.

Really awesome frozen yogurt that you don't have to feel guilty about eating! I will admit, I was skeptical when this place opened in the square- there was a lot of buzz about it though. Their frozen yogurt is awesome and I love the toppings that you can have with it! So far peanut butter has been my favorite. I've also tried the chocolate- so good. Favorite topping has been captain crunch so far. The yogurt is a bit pricey but it's worth the money!!! I have heard amazing things about their salted caramel but missed it. :( I just love this place!!! Very friendly waitstaff as well. There isn't a whole lot of seating within Pinkberry but I never want to eat inside anyway. :)

  • Wayne H.

Compared to Berry Line, the only thing I think Pinkberry does better is that they give you more choices of flavors and toppings, whereas Berry Line pretty much dictates which three flavors you can order on any given day. However, Pinkberry just doesn't beat Berry Line in terms of taste. Their original flavor is better than Red Mango (which had a horrible, clammy texture), but it still doesn't match Berry Line's creamy texture and falls short of achieving the perfect balance between tart and sweet. Also, Pinkberry's staff members are so robotic they're almost creepy, whereas the people who work at Berry Line are normal, chill college students who seem to actually enjoy working there.

  • H T.

The yoghurt is fantastic, but the cashiers try to sell everyone some kind of membership program at the register. This slows down the line. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get a yoghurt because it was busy, and the cashiers were busy taking everyone's name and address at the register for the damn membership thing they were selling instead of keeping the line moving. Learn how to run a business for cryinn' out loud. Yer line is out the door. Keep it moving!

  • Heley B.

OMG I am obsessed with it!! Sometimes they will give you a lot of toppings. But some times they just add a little. And I like the original ones best!

As I rode the escalator up from the dungeon of the Harvard Square T stop I had to shield my eyes. No, not from the sun, but from the aura surrounding Pinkberry. The angelic choir broke into song and I floated toward the door and the heavenly tart and creamy yogurt. Ok, so I really like Pinkberry and I am so stoked there is a location in Harvard Square now! It is clean, friendly and convenient. I asked for a taste and got it. I asked for nutrition info and I got it. If you have never had their yogurt it is the tart kind! There are a lot of toppings to choose from including my fave Fruity Pebbles, gummy bears, butter cookies and fresh fruit. YUM!

  • Stephanie G.

So, it was fine, nothing offensive about it. There were lots of toppings, the prices were fine, some interesting yogurt flavors. But it pales in comparison to Berry Line. I really don't understand why they had to open up a Pinkberry in a place that already has the exact same thing going on two streets down. It seems to me like kinda a dick move actually. I live in Davis. We have no frozen yogurt places now that Spun closed. Why didn't Pinkberry open here? I like Berry Line better, so I don't forsee another trip to Pink Berry in my future, unless they go somewhere without a pre-existing delicious local yogurt business.

sorry, pinkberry. your constant line, crowded interior and high prices just suck too much. p.s. i still love you though, salted caramel...

Ok, so I know that everyone is really into the whole fro-yo thing, and I am ALL about some delish ice cream type fat free-ness, but I don't think I'll be heading back to Pinkberry. I get that it is new and there are some kinks to be worked out, but when there is a line out the door, perhaps the staff could make some (a little, teeny tiny?) bit of effort to make things run smoothly? Not here - their whole system seems a little inefficient. The person who takes your order is not the person who fills your yogurt cup (which they totally rip you off on by leaving a big hole in the middle), and then they hand it back to the person who took your order to add the toppings? Weird. Also, they seem a little cheap with the toppings - when I ordered animal crackers as my only topping, I got three measly animal crackers, although they *were* neatly placed on the yogurt. I do give them a star for having a delicious chocolate flavor, but it couldn't make up for the whole experience. I think their other flavors of yogurt are quite similar to Berryline, which is more efficient, cheaper, and the staff is much nicer! I will definitely be keeping my business with Berryline!

  • Ken M.

Why would you go here when Berryline is so much better and locally owned? First of all, the wait was ridiculous. Ten people in front of us and four employees and it took like 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. The yogurt isn't any tastier than Berryline but has more calories. The prices are ridiculous. Once again, a place that suffers from a better rep than it deserves and is super over hyped. I've learned my lesson and it's back to Berryline for me.

  • Genine L.

Worst Pinkberry I've ever been to. If it wasn't a good product that had a name this branch would go under faster than superman. Never have I been treated so rudely in my life. The staff here is absolutely barbaric and although I love Pinkberry I'd rather travel further to visit another location then deal with the harassment this staff gives to it's PAYING customers.

    (1)
  • Michael C.

Pinkberry grew on me, at first I didn't realize just how good their frozen yogurts are. They hand out generous samples, have tons of toppings that are included in the price, and a selection of 6 flavors with a few that rotate out. My current favorite is salted caramel.

    (5)
  • Alex P.

Ridiculously expensive, and they are so stingy with toppings. I attempted to ask for the price before I ordered, and the guy gave some vague answer about how it's either with or without toppings...lo and behold, I ended up with a medium that cost more than $7!!!! And can I just mention that he put the TINIEST amount of each topping in?? So annoying. Will not be back.

I've heard a lot of hype about Pinkberry. Normally, I would discount this as some sort of trendy place that won't have any longevity, but I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I found the yogurt to be a really nice consistency and a really delicious flavor. I love that you can mix in as many of the toppings as you like without any additional charge beyond the first topping. Plus, they have some really diverse topping choices you don't normally see (mochi anyone?). I opted for the original flavor, which was delicious, but my boyfriend had pomegranate and it was outstanding! We went on a Friday night and there was a line out the door, so expect that. It did move quickly though.

I tried Pinkberry for the first time yesterday. I like their pricing and selection. The servers were chipper and even though yesterday was breezier than I would have liked (for a cold treat) I was pleasantly surprised by the original fro-yo flavor with toppings (mini-sized comes with 2-3 toppings). Great location, service and taste. Still not as great as N.End gelato or rich, creamy ice cream but I liked it (and it's supposedly better for me than the other things).

  • John X.

Pinkberry is my favorite fro-yo place, they always have excellent yogurt and fresh toppings. Since this is a major chain, there's really not much to say, but here's my standard yogurt: Medium original with mochi, kiwi, strawberry, and shaved chocolate. Can't be beat. Only problem with this location is that this place is always fairly packed, and they have no restroom...

    (4)
  • Julia N.

Location is ideal right next to the large Harvard square t station. The chocolate frozen yogurt is by far the best thing they have. It is rich tasting for fro yo and tastes like real chocolate. But the other choices are not good tasting. Harsh and sour like their pomegranate or dull and tasteless like their watermelon. Berrylines original is far superior!! They have a range of toppings, but they do not give you enough for what you pay for, and the fruit isnt chunked/cut as big or as ripe as berrylines fruit toppings.

  • Stephanie F.

I came here twice already. I like Pinkberry - the taste of the yogurt and the chewiness of the mochi (sorry, Red Mango still beats you), but this establishment SUCKS! First, I understand there is a big craze over this whole froyo thing, so yes, there will be a long ass line. However, the Pinkberry employees do nothing to ameliorate the pain of standing in line for so long. They are inefficient (first they ask for your yogurt.. swirl your yogurt into a cup - and leave a gaping hole in the middle of the whole thing to rip you off.. and then they come back to the customer and ask what kind of toppings he/she wants one by one....MOREOVER, it's almost like they're scared to put the toppings on the yogurt... like they're so gentle about putting it on top of your yogurt -- I'm going to eat it anyway, just shove it on top!). I'm sorry, but I'm an engineer and I like EFFICIENCY! Anyway, logistics wise, I give this place a 0.5. Food wise - a 4. Average rating? 2 stars. Improve the ordering process, and I'll up your rating.

  • Lauren E.

I would love this place so much more if it weren't so crowded... It took me 10 minutes just to get my yogurt today. They're kind of creepily "branded." They say they will "swirl" your "pinkberry" and tell you to "enjoy your pinkberry" when you leave. It's a little over the top for me. But the yogurt is good. Tastes a little richer than Berryline. They have 6 flavors, which is nice. The best part is that they have a 3 oz mini, not just the 5 oz small (and larger flavors). A great little treat!

    (4)
  • Kylie S.

I love Pinkberry. It's very hard to ever pass it up. I think it is slightly better than Berryline, however Berryline has much better prices. Nonetheless, I love Pinkberry. They don't have a lot of flavors, but there is always a good one and the flavors are true to their names. They will let you taste first. I prefer the less tart flavors.

  • G Y.

Pinkberry frozen yogurt is fantastic. I especially love the value of the fresh fruit parfait with original yogurt, which makes for a healthy breakfast or a snack, with granola and three fresh fruit toppings, particularly since I don't care too much for the chocolate/sweet toppings. However, the Harvard Square location is TERRIBLE when it comes to service. If you've ever walked or driven through Harvard Square, especially during summer, you often see a long snaking line outside of Pinkberry. Yes, it is popular, and it makes for a cool treat, but the reason is because THE SERVICE IS PAINSTAKINGLY SLOW. I do not understand their customer management because there are sometimes up to eight people behind the counter in a chaotic mess of activity. Many of the servers do not smile at all and move ridiculously slowly, as if they are oblivious that there are many people outside. Maybe Pinkberry is hiring from the same pool of people who work at airline check-in counters. So alas, I am torn. I do love Pinkberry, but whenever there is a line in there (I've lined up for about 10 minutes with 4 people in front of me), they've lost my business.

Salted caramel froyo with milk chocolate topping, strawberries & mango. Delish. But close to $6 for a single serving? I could get fat off a whole pint of Ben & Jerry's for that price (because when it comes to calories, I'm all about economies of scale). The new Pinkberry is perfectly placed in Harvard square. Can't imagine that oversized room of ATMs that was there before was paying the rent too well. I tried BerryLine too, but if you liked TCBY, you'll like Pinkberry better. Worth trying if you like gelato/froyo. Try going in December when the line is shorter.
