ordered veal and eggplant parmigiana came out ice cold like it come out of the fridge and put hot sauce on it. Then I had to remind waiter for my pasta because he thought it came with it but not sure (wow) it is in the menu. sent it back and wanted nothing to replace it and when I talked to the manager she acted like she was doing me a big favor by not charging me for this meal but she did comp me a $3.50 salad needless to say I will never go back.

Had a delicious meal at the Chateau and were seated immediately. Service was excellent and the food was good too!!

I ordered takeout from here last weekend. I had a gift card for $50 and for just shy of that my husband had lobster mac n cheese and my mother and I split an italian platter with chicken parmigiana and eggplant milano. Despite previous review we did get bread included for free. The food was good, portions were decent. i would recommend.

If I ran this restaurant, I would be ashamed. After many months, we did return, with 2 adults, and 2 kids for dinner. We tried some steak tips, haddock, manicotti, buffalo tenders, toasted ravioli, and chicken ziti and broccoli. Everything on the table could be described with one word...bland. No flavor, nothing new or exciting, just boring, tasteless staples that all seem like they have been processed and frozen. Remember the mashed potatoes you used to get in the cafeteria in high school? Well if you miss them for any reason, come to The Chateau for some nostalgia. It's too bad, because the atmosphere isn't terrible, and the staff seems generally friendly, but the food just sucks. Definitely wont be back this time.

We went in on a Sunday mid-day with 32 people completely unannounced and they couldn't have handled it better. Half of our group was kids and consisted of about 9 families. They took a little while setting up the back for us. Luckily it wasn't too busy. Had we called ahead I'm sure this would already have been done so we couldn't possibly expect any different. When we sat, we all knew that they would not want to deal with 9 separate checks and our waitresses informed us that they don't typically do separate checks so I decided to help them by offering to have each family order everything at once instead of your typical go-around-the-table ordering. This made it much more manageable for them to separate the checks. Drinks, food, everything was ordered at once. We had to wait a little longer for our drinks since the ordering process was so daunting but again, completely expected when dealing with a group of this size and the accommodations they were making for us. Our food came shockingly fast for a group this big. Very surprising. Our rock star waitresses knew where almost everything went on our two huge tables and made absolutely no errors. A few times extra stuff came out accidentally and was left on the table for anyone who wanted it but nobody was missed and everybody was served at roughly the same time. A bunch of kids ordered dessert afterwards, which was not expected but they did it anyway. The staff handled finding out who's kid went with which family (the kids were at a separate table) so the checks were correct. The food was great. Everyone was happy. None of the 9 separate checks were in error and everybody was out within about 90 minutes. Great job, everyone!

I came home from the Chateau 3 hours ago and I feel sick. I had the eggplant parm with spaghetti. The sauce was bright red like ketchup and didn't taste much different. There was way too much sauce...so much that the food was hidden under it! The spaghetti was watery and overcooked. The parm was soggy and lukewarm. I ate a few bites and couldn't stomach anymore. No one was around to fill drinks or ask how the food was. I thought I would get a good Italian dessert....none to be offered except Spumoni. Geez, I thought Olive Garden was bad! They are 5 star compared to this dump. I've had better food at summer camp.

Best Chicken Parm in Braintree! I get take out from here a lot and the staff are all super nice. Good drinks and prices are fair. We're not talking North End here but for a Braintree it's a nice little option to have down the street.

gross and overpriced. only good thing was the waitress was nice. had lazy mans lobster. whoever was running the broiler should have their license revoked. it was dry as a bone, like it was out in the desert for a week . vegetable medley? completely disgusting, watery, no flavor, mushy. chicken parm - gross, salty, watery pasta. I've had better food in my high school cafeteria, and I didn't go to a good high school I felt sorry for Tammy, she was trying. So we tipped her well for the effort. bleah.

Food was good. My husband and I split an entree of broiled haddock and sirloin tips as well as an individual pizza. It was plenty of food, fish was fresh. The waitress was very friendly. I'm usually not a fan of chain restaurants but it was good, and I would go back again.

I went to the Chateau a few days ago for my birthday. My father and I went kind of late, so it was pretty empty, but we still had to wait a while for a table. I guess everyone had just left because the waitresses were still clearing off all of the available tables. The wait wasn't any more than fifteen minutes, though. I didn't order an appetizer. I went straight for an entrée, and I ordered chicken parmesan with ravioli in meat sauce. There was a choice of toasted ravioli, which looked good to me until the waitress explained that they would be deep fried rather than toasted. They should make a better note of that on the menu. The food arrived pretty quickly, and it was awesome. The chicken and the ravioli were both extremely delicious. I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone. The waitress was extremely nice and patient. My father is always extremely difficult in restaurants, asking a million useless questions and generally being pretty rude. I tried to speak to the waitress and smile as much as possible, and she understood. She must have dealt with some difficult customers before. Either way, she was a great waitress. She was fast and very, very courteous, and she wasn't all over us the whole time to see how we were doing. Overall, the Chateau is great. You should definitely check it out if you haven't been there before.

I had dinner with several members of my family the night of September 1st and we were all very satisfied with the food and the service. I have eaten at three of their locations multiple times and never have a negative experience. The Braintree location is the smallest and usually has a 20-40 minute wait for seating.

I am generally skeptical of chain Italian restaurants but Chateau is different from the rest. The food is good and the waitstaff are well trained and attentive. Portion size is not crazy where you are basically eating more pasta in one sitting than a healthy person should. They are also food allergy trained staff. So people with food allergies should be comfortable with on placing an order. The manager and the waitstaff will work with you make sure there is not a problem. Be sure to go early because dinner services is extremely busy at night,

I agree with Melody, the Braintree location I thought would be great, but I'm still going to Norwood, evn though its a bit outdated it has way better service and is so much bigger and better. This location is awful!

Waitress "Nicole 2" excellent. Food: blah. Villa Rosa, Alfredo's, super bland. I can usually tell by the salad and bread where we are going, and it was true. It was crazy crowded. At least some were after work drinkers ( we were seated at a high top in the bar) but I can't understand the foot traffic at a place with tomatoe soup sauce. The Bride got Sausage Abruzzi, and I got Chicken piccatta. We both know what these dishes are supposed to taste like, and both were mailed in. No complaints about the portions however.

Decent interior and has potential to be a good restaurant but the food is horrible, everything we had taste like it was frozen and microwaved. Save your money and go somewhere else, you can get better food at a chain restaurant.

Shannon, the hostess, deserves far too many expletives than is tolerated in a yelp review. We came here on a gift card and while we were told the wait was around 15 for bar OR lounge seating, it was at least 45 minutes because Shannon repeatedly skipped over us. I saw a party of two walk in, after we had been waiting at least 30 minutes, and get seated immediately. We then went up to ask why we were skipped over and with no apology, a man standing in a blue shirt simply said "you'll be next." She's not the attitude I want to deal with when I walk into any establishment let it be a McDonald's or a Top of the Hub type deal. She set the mood for the night from the beginning and it was terrible. The best person in the joint was Barbara, our server. She was great until she couldn't figure out how use a gift card and two credit cards so she charged one without consent, just charged it and told us afterwards. The food was bland at best. Would never come back. Want to re-iterate how atrocious the service was. Perhaps you could train the hostess on how to crack a smile, or better yet, just speak. Only gave it one star because no stars is not an available option.

I am not sure why some people love this place - I just don't get it. The food is bland and tasteless. The sauce is nasty and what they pass off as bread is a mystery. The staff in Braintree were friendly and efficient. But the food - yuk!

Anyone of Italian heritage that says this is good food, has never experienced good food in there life. I'd rate it a zero if I could. What's strange is I used to go to the original in Waltham as a kid and teenager and actually enjoyed it. I think standards went out the window when they expanded their empire. We went to the Braintree location. I was excited when it opened. It took a while to get seated due to the hostess texting or emailing. Our waiter was not good. No clue how to take care of customers. We ordered an antipasto to share. It took a while it when we received it, I immediately knew it wasn't going to be good. The salami was cut far too thick and the prosciutto with melon was disgusting. I don't know where they get their prosciutto but it was cheap and horrible. Our meals came and were SWIMMING in red sauce. It made everything soggy. The sauce was so sweet. Huge disappointment. We didn't stick around for dessert because they'd probably screw that up too. We'll never go back. I emailed the owners from their website and not surprisingly never heard back. If you like cheap, chain Italian food, this your place. Good luck to you and I feel for you. We all deserve better.

This place is deceiving. It looks nice and their menu is huge so you think the food will be just as good. Wrong. I've been here a few times and don't plan to go back. The first visit was later, around 8 PM, on a weeknight. I didn't want a lot of food so I just got a salad and that was really good. I like the touch with the yogurt cup and fruit. Bread was decent. So that visit was a pretty good one. The next couple times I went I decided I wouldn't waste the money anymore. I got the combo meal with toasted ravioli, chicken parm and alfredo. I couldn't tell the difference between the ravioli and chicken parm. It was scary. The sauce is gross and tastes really thick and meaty. The only good thing was the alfredo but even that sauce was extra thick. I would go to the Olive Garden over this place and thats not saying much.

have eaten here probably 10 times..,This time, walked in, no one at host station, woman with black hair sitting in first booth stuffing her face, told us to just go pick a table and someone would bring menus over. not very welcoming, didn't even get up. I understand people have to eat while working, but don't sit right up front. eat in the kitchen or at a booth in the back. not the 1st time I've seen this there either.. food was ok, nothing great, little over priced. in no hurry to go back there..

I went here with a couple of girlfriends. it was quite crowded ..friday night, but we got seated in 10-15 minutes. the food was so-so, a little bland and unremarkable. We did think the pizza was pretty good, but the marinara sauce was not very tasty, very bland. the cocktails were expensive but were ok. Nice decor, and we has a very good and attentive waitress. Might try again sometime...

Went on a Friday night and didn't have to wait for a party of two. We've been wanting to try it out because it's always packed every time we passed this Braintree location as well as the Norwood location. Blah. The food was blah. The menu was huge and I selected the tuscany-style shrimp salad which was okay. The grilled veggies were too heavy to be sitting on a bed of mixed greens. The shrimp was good but I don't know how you can screw up skewered shrimp. My boyfriend had the Trio 2 and said the sauce wasn't great and reminded him of Chef Boyardee. The bread was cold for some reason (try buttering cold bread, it's not easy) and the food was unimpressive. Service was great, though. I don't understand why there were so many people there. Once was enough for us.

This has become my go-to Italian joint. Although it's a chain, the food is really good. The ambience is great -- it's cozy and romantic. You can request to sit by the fire for a more intimate experience, or just lay low at the bar and catch a game on TV. The drinks are good, but even more, I can NEVER decide on a meal choice because there are so many awesome options. I'm constantly fluctuating between chicken parm, fettucine alfredo, and salmon. I've had all three and have no complaints (though once I requested broccoli with my salmon and they brought me some unappealing squash medley). The best part of the menu (they've probably learned over the years that people often have a difficult time making decisions) is that they offer a number of combos where you get a smaller portion of two or three different menu items. It allows you to get everything you want in one delicious plate! My only recommendation would be to take the sesame seeds off the bread! It's better without them ;)

We went to this place Friday night an it was jam packed. There was a 45 minute wait for a table for two. The bar area was crowded and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We were seated in the dining "lounge" which are the tables around the bar, but it was still comfortable seating. They give you as much Italian Bread as you can eat, and it seems to be baked in house. It was very good. We started with the Fried Calamari and it was really good, you could actually taste the octopus behind the breading, it wasn't overwhelmingly fried. I had the Seafood Portofino (clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and a fish) - it came with pasta - it was very good. The shrimp were on the medium-large size, which is decent, at least it wasn't tiny ones. My girlfriend had the Eggplant Parm and it was very good from what I hear. Overall, we enjoyed this place. It was good food. It is definitely a possibility to go back here when we feel the hankering for Italian food. Very family friendly as well, but also a very large and crowded bar area. Try the mints on the way out - they are chocolate mints and were literally being grabbed up in the handfuls.

Went here for my daughters birthday. Decor lovely, food just ok. I would say its one step above an Olive Garden taste wise. Blue Cheese Chicken salad a high point, bread good, service fantastic. Lasagna just so so, meat sauce tasted jar like, and my husband did not like his chicken palm. My daughters both got fettuchini with brocoli and chicken, the youngest liked her food, but is not very picky, my oldest (whos birthday it was) was disappointed. Overall, I would go back with my youngest daughter,as she loved it, but will be leary of what I order.

So, lots of people said, "Try Chateau! Its nice!" Well. While I do agree that the staff (our server was Marie, and she was lovely) is fine, the food? I felt like I drove to Stop and Shop, microwaved some SpaghettiO's, slapped them on a plate, and paid $11 for it. For an "Italian Family Dining" experience, this one was sadly lacking. I should have known when I saw the Keno players everywhere and the cheesy paper placemats not to expect much, but I'm no snob. Good food is good food. However,it is now clear to me that at Chateau, Eggplant Parm means slimy fried eggplant covered with substandard out-of-a-can sauce. Despite the convenience, we won't be back.

So let's start with the bread. I walked in expecting maybe rolls, or garlic bread, or even breadsticks. What I got was a quarter of a loaf of sliced, sesame-crusted, room temperature, untoasted white 'Italian' bread with cold butter pats that tore the bread when I tried to spread it. This is something I expect from the 'Italian' school lunch day, not a restaurant. Perhaps this is something others might pass over, but we were left with easily fifteen minutes between the appearance of bread and appearance of anything else on our table, including our drinks. My boyfriend remarked that they could have sold one or two of the pretty flat-screen TV's playing the games to afford to hire at least another waitress. Next: The Appetizer. For some reason, my boyfriend decided to tempt fate and try the half-order of Ultimate Nachos... at an Italian restaurant. Fate was not kind. As Alyssa S. found first, it was eight corn chips, buried underneath way too many toppings, including the hockey puck of ground beef buried in the middle like a node of lead inside the mountain of garnish. The Main Course was next. We were looking for a light lunch, but Sunday was apparently dinner only, so we ordered an entree Caesar salad with the grilled chicken and a French-Onion soup. The soup was mediocre - a fantastic rich broth spoiled by huge chunks of onion, and the cheese was much too harsh. Our eyes, however, were fixated on the entree Caesar, served in what looked like a charger plate with a shallow dip in the middle, containing a tiny portion of dressed greens and croutons, one which would have been dismissed as a side salad at any other restaurant I'd been to, small enough that the skimpy grilled chicken cutlet entirely covered it. Apparently the extra money was spent on a slice of cantaloupe, a piece of pineapple, a single strawberry and a 3oz plastic container of berry yogurt. I wasn't aware that "served with fresh fruit & yogurt" on a menu meant "sorry, we're going to stiff your portion for a sad fruit platter." The waitress brought another bread basket along with the meal - apparently we were expected to fill up on that?! Or perhaps it was there to maintain the appearance of customer service, given the long waits for absolutely everything, including a refill and taking empty plates away. Absolute waste of time and money.

Went to the Chateau again today..I must be a glutton for punishment. I am on oxygen 24/7 and almost everytime I go they seat me at the booth furthest from the door. Today I asked to speak to the manager, I asked her why if they can see that I'm on oxygen do they seat me so far away, she said "I" need to tell them I don't want to walk that far. I said it should just be good customer service since it is obvious I have oxygen. She said it would different if I had a wheelchair or a walker, then it would be MORE obvious. So I guess I am not handicapped enough to warrant good customer service. As for the food...it is too inconsistent, 9 times out of 10 I order the large salad with turkey tips. I don't think I have ever gotten the same amount of turkey..I have questioned this in the past and was told it is done by weight. The last time I got the tips I got 6, each were about the same size as the 3 I got today. There was no tomato in the salad and it usually comes with yogurt(even though I never eat it) but today it didn't have any. My son ordered a side of garlic bread and the waitress asked him if he wanted a half order or a whole order...he said whole order and he got a half order. The last time we went my son ordered Raviolis with marinara sauce (he does not eat meat). It came out with a meatball, which it plainly states on the menu is EXTRA. When he told the waitress he was a vegetarian she said I will have them make you a new order...within a minute she was back with what I would bet was the exact same plate minus the meatball. Although they do have several locations, maybe they have over extended themselves so that service is suffering. I may have to find a new place to go..this place has become disappointing. UPDATE: After receiving a call from the Manager with multiple apologies for the poor service, she stated that the staff will be instructed on how to seat people with disabilities. She offered me a free meal for the next time I came in. After not going for a couple of months we went again for lunch and AGAIN we were seated at the furthest table from the door...I told the hostess I was not happy and she said "well you should have said something, do you want to move closer to the door" seriously I'm on oxygen why would I now want to walk all the way back to the front after you brought me to the back?.. Half way through our meal the manager came by to AGAIN apologize, she said the hostess "felt terrible", she them comped our entire meal. Although very nice it doesn't change the fact that NOTHING has changed. It may have been the last time we go there...

This is one of the worst overpriced restaurants in all of New England. My friends pasta sauce was Ragu from a jar my pasta was soaked in awful tasting oil (which i think was sewage) and my broccoli was dunked in the sewage oil. Oh ya the table had little jibblets on it. And my desert was a big Peggy Lawton brownie with hersheys hot fudge (or was it?) and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream, even that wasn't good how can you go wrong with ice cream!?!?!?!/ its ice cream! And my friends pasta had so many noodles you might as well give me a bucket'O noodles very bad very very bad :(

I have been going to the restaurant since the opening. (live in Braintree) After a few complaints...that were attended to by management I wanted to express some positive comment's. I and company always eat at the Bar and I need to speak of Mike and Christina specifically. They are outstanding....always greet us with a welcoming smile....and since I am there a few times a month it is like "MY Cheers!".....Drinks are remembered...as well as "special requests...attention is impeccable.... I could go on........Mike is Magnificent and Christina is incredible...... I need to add that the other Bartender's are excellent and deserve accolades as well........I just don't recall their names...LOL................ Keep up the great service!!... :)

For my second visit to The Chateau, a friend and I seated ourselves at the bar for drinks and appetizers. We ordered sangria for drinks and boneless buffalo tenders as our first appetizer. The sangria was mediocre and so were the tenders. They were served with celery and carrot sticks as well as with blue cheese dressing. The tenders seemed like flat planks that were heated up after being in the freezer. Our second appetizer was a half order of Ultimate Nachos, which included (maybe 8?) chips topped with "melted Monterey Jack cheese, homemade chili, diced tomatoes, scallions, black olives, and jalapeno peppers." They were served with small cups of guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. I was horrified to find a chunk of meat in the middle of our nachos pile with cheese and the other toppings piled around it. The meat was in a perfect circular shape on top of the chips (which were already soggy). We asked for chips on the side and tried to salvage the nachos, but they were not good at all. My favorite thing about them would be the black olives, which I could have just bought at Shaw's... This is my second review for The Chateau, and I'm sad to say that their nachos devastated me! For my "Nacho Average Reviews" list: 1 star

Went back for lunch. Much better experience. Sat in the bar at a booth, lunch isn't as jammed as dinner. Waitress was great, brought drinks, bread, food on time, she was pleasant. Hopefully the horrible waitress we had a few months ago is long gone. Got the Scrod Bella I think it was called and Chicken Palermo both great dishes. I'll definitely be back for lunch and I'll give dinner another shot soon.

I went there last night for dinner. It was strangely crowded for a Tuesday night. The food took a kind of unreasonable amount of time to come out. Then, to make matters worse, one of the entrees was served with meat sauce instead of tomato sauce, as requested. However, the waitress did rectify the problem and brought out a new dish. The waitress later told us that they weren't expecting it to be so busy, and were shorthanded in the kitchen. I know mistakes happen, and my pizza was good, so I would go back. The buffalo chicken appetizer was also pretty good. However, I tried a bite of someone else's toasted ravioli, and I thought it was soggy and covered in way too much sauce. Two people at my table ordered them, 1 loved them, and the other felt the same way I did.

I wrote this in May but am posting it now......Had heard good things so decided to give it a try. Great smelling peonies on entry way, but that is about it. They were out of the vodka that they made their special martini with. I ordered the seafood special primavera. One word-awful. Bland and not worth the money. My husband got the chicken picatta and had to send it back because it tasted like dead bird. Bar seemed vibrant and lively so do yourself a favour go there for only drinks!

I was looking forward to checking out this place, as their marinara sauce is a go-to jarred sauce in our house but all in all? Meh. Nice enough decor and the staff was polite and friendly, but when our food arrived it was room temperature and somewhat bland. We sent the dishes back and a few minutes later the plates returned, with only some parts of the food warmed up. Like, they stuck it in a microwave or something. And something I can't forgive is pasta that has the consistency of Campbell's Soup noodles - too soft and too thick like it's been soaking in water all day long. So, so much for looking forward to the Chateau. I'll still get the jarred sauce though.

Ok this is an update to my post on 2/27. We decided to try Chateau again. Tonight our party ordered Veal and Eggplant parm. The veal was overcooked and was like rubber. You could not cut it unless you stabbed it. It was dry and rubbery. Cheers to the waitress as she took that off the bill, though we were not going for that. Others in my party ordered apps, which we did not receive. Another in my party ordered the mixed grill and the meat was undercooked. Waitress forgot side order of meatballs. We spoke to the manager. This is strike 2 and we are not going to wait for strike 3. It is really a shame as we loved this restaurant. They did not even have anyone stationed at the front desk. The atmosphere here has really gone down in terms of energy level and the food coming out of the kitchen is not at all to the chateau standards that we have experienced. I think they need to stop what they are doing and take a look at why they can't get the food out to the customers and why they can't cook it properly. Mind you, it was not terribly busy tonight when we went.

We were looking into booking Chateau for our upcoming wedding shower and since they advertise a gluten free menu (my fiance is gluten free) we decided to try it out. We ordered the g-free salmon and the g-free chicken parm. The salmon was cold and after biting into it, we realized that it was not cooked and the middle was mushy and cold. It was also not seasoned very well in the first place so was not tasty at all. The chicken parm was just a plain piece of chicken on a bed of g-free noodles and my fiance only took a bite or two out of that before throwing in the towel. We asked the waitress (who was the most pleasant part of the experience) to take the salmon off of the bill, which she kindly did. After dinner, we had to rush home due to the fact that my fiance was so violently ill from contaminated food. I've never seen my fiance so sick from gluten poisoning. This dinner not only ruined our night, but he was sick all weekend. Needless to say, we won't be booking this place for our shower! WARNING- DON'T EAT HERE IF YOU'RE TRYING THE GLUTEN FREE MENU!

I've been here a few times with my family. It's a nice family restaurant despite being a smaller chain. Prices are fair and food is served fast. It hits the spot when hungry. I have never had a bad meal or experience.

Restaurant Review; The Chateau in Braintree. I thought this place might be good because it's jammed every time I drive by. I figured they had to be doing something right to pull people in every night like that, WRONG. This place is mediocre at best. Appetizers appeared to be frozen and heated in a microwave. Entrees were nothing special either in quality or quantity. Their marinara sauce tasted like it came from a jar. Even though our waitress was excellent most of the wait staff looked like they'd rather be in Gitmo than at The Chateau. At one point the bar ran out of glasses and we had to wait for them to do a washer load in order to get our round. Then they ran out of limes for mixed drinks. Prices were no bargain, appetizers in the $7-10 range and Entrees running from $12-20. I left wondering why the place is packed all the time. If you do decide to try it ask for Jocelyn, she was our waitress and the best part about dinning at the Chateau.

This place is garbage. The food is - to put it mildly - bland and disgusting. Easily the worst "Italian" meal of my life. Grams and Gramps Nocera must be spinning in their graves. As another reviewer put it, I knew I was in trouble with the nasty, store-bought, cold bread they served. And it was downhill from there... For some stupid reason, I got the Trio 3 "special" - which featured a marinara *and* alfredo side (WTF?) - and tried subbing the alfredo for the fried ravioli featured in one of the other "Trio" specials. Waitress comes back: "Sorry. They say they can't do that. (WTF?!) But they can put it in a side dish." Me: "You mean that (marinara and alfredo) was all gonna be on the same plate??" "Yes." WTF?! So the fettuccine alfredo comes out in its own bowl - and it's freaking lumpy and congealed and absolutely room temperature. And it tastes like noodles that have absolutely no taste covered in congealed butter. OMG... The eggplant was acidic and disgusting, and the lasagna: a lump of tasteless, bland ricotta. All covered in godawful "marinara". I mean, really... The only thing that wasn't shit was the Peroni beer - though I suppose that's debatable...

Went here about a month ago, jammed pack. Finally sat down & waited for ten minutes to have the waitress breeze past us with a "I'll be right with you" by this time we had figured out our drinks & meals but ok. So she finally comes back 5 min later & we decided to put in our drinks, appt & meals for fear of never seeing her again. So we get our appt of fried raviolis but no drinks. About half way through the raviolis the drinks arrived. At this time I asked "when you get a chance could we please have some bread" she ignores me then comes back with bread, throws it on the table and goes "Heres your bread!!!" Thanks rude out of your mind waitress. The raviolis were so yummy! Crispy and cheesy served with a marinara meat sauce. For dinner I ordered the seafood fra diavlo, it contained lobster, scallops and shrimp. The scallops and shrimp were good but the lobster was rough and not that good. Hopefully they hired new staff by now

I ordered take out. Rhode island style calamari as well as buffalow chicken sandwich. The food came fresh and taste great. I gave 2 star due to the bad service. The person packing the food to go completely forgot all the condiments such as the marinara sauce as well as ketchup! I was pretty frustrated as these are important ingredients to enhance your food experience.

I love this place. I have had the shrimp scampi, chicken caccatoire, meatballs, chicken supreme and more. All of it is very good. Every time we come here, we get a great meal. Prices are reasonable. Great place to eat with family and friends. Service is great, quick and courteous.

This is a fairly cheap, family style italian restaurant, so if you go expecting fine dining you might be disappointed. For what it is, though, it's a great value, and some of their stuff is really, really good. I went twice while we were in town. Pros: -Excellent lasagna, chicken parm, and eggplant parm -FUCKING AMAZING butternut squash ravioli and shrimp in a sage cream sauce and grilled asparagus...really one of the best meals I've had this year. -fast seating even when they're full -we had a really sweet and funny waitress on one of our trips -two people can easily eat for under $40 Cons: -terrible "table wines" -mediocre desserts -mediocre stuffed mushrooms -we had an ambivalent waitress who forgot a lot of things, on the other trip

I've been coming to "The" Chateau in Norwood for a while with my family. We liked it. (yes, I know the one in Norwood is a bit outdated and dark inside.) Imagine our excitement when we found out that they opened this location. But unfortunately, our experience in Braintree went downhill since its opening. At first, when I saw the amount of low ratings on this one, I was quite surprised. But now that I think about it, the flaws are mainly with the services and the staff members. Some of the staff people are rude and inattentive. Not even a small smile attempted. I noticed that whenever I come here with my family and friends, the service was slow. I don't think the excuse of "there's too many people to get to" is acceptable for the poor waiting service for the times I go there. The place wasn't even that fully packed. Luckily, I got a friendly and attentive waitress in my recent visit, but that still does not make up for the blah service. OK so it's typical Italian American food. Honestly, I like getting the Penne Giardiniara and the seafood pasta dishes (especially the specials). They won me over for slightly better dishes than Olive Garden. That's the reason why I gave it one more star. I think that sometimes services can affect our overall experience of what we eat, and this is the sad case here. Hire more reliable and friendly staff people please. I don't need an another sour-pussed and miserable sight of a being giving me an attitude. I thought this is supposed to be a "family friendly" restaurant? There's hostility everywhere and it sadly contrast from the beautiful interior design that Braintree's Chateau offers.

Food is consistently good. Paid for a $205 take-out order and they wouldn't throw in any bread for free. Are you kidding? Tell me the last time you had to pay for bread at a restaurant. It should be common sense from the owners, management and employees to throw in a loaf of bread for a large order.

One of the worst dinner experiences I have had in awhile. My boyfriend and I went and sat at the bar. I ordered a side salad with chicken on top. The bartender I assume was new because she could not figure out how to order my order. She had to have the manager come over and enter it in correctly. When I received my meal it was wrong. I received two pieces of chicken with vegetables. I informed the bartender that my meal was wrong and handed it back. SHE told me don't worry I will just get you a side of mixed greens. I asked are you sure? She said yes. When I received my bill they charged me $18.95 for something that should have cost $7.50. This is were I get upset. The manager on duty was so RUDE at first she told me that's what it cost for the dinner I received. I told her I did not order this and I informed the bartender of that and offered to give it back. After a couple of times going back and forth with the manager she rudely said "well you received more than what you are being charged for" and then procedded to tell me "I ordered something that was not on the menu". My response to that was if that was the case shouldnt you or the bartender informed me of that. She eventually dropped it to $12.50. Still $5.00 over priced. I will NEVER eat at the Chateau again. AGAIN worst management service ever and I worked in retail for 13 YEARS..

Unfortunately, I'm not really a big fan of The Chateau. It's just mediocre Italian food. There's just so many better restaurants on the South Shore that are so delicious. I've been here twice and I won't be back here anytime soon...

We went on Friday night at 7pm with my two kids (7 months and 2.5 years). We were seated in about 10 minutes. We notified the waitress that we will be in a hurry because dining with kids can be challenging. We ordered the chicken parm and "toasted' ravioli, The meals came out in about 4 minutes. Ok, 4 minutes? Really? We told you we were in a hurry but that doesn't mean steal someone else's dishes for us. Oh if only that was the case. We have two theories how the food came out so fast: 1.) They pre-cook their most popular dishes during the early evening and leave them in warming trays to serve as requested. 2.) It was microwaved straight out of a freezer. I am leaning towards frozen to microwave because the "toasted" ravioli was so rubbery and soggy and the inside cheese was the consistency of something that was previously frozen and reheated. The chicken parm was 90% fried breading and 10% chicken with 100 pounds of sauce on it. It should have been called fried parm. My wife had the trio with "fetuccini alfredo" ... again, it was microwaved. Pasta is very difficult to dry out so much that it literally sticks to your teeth like Charleston Chews. Even the bread was disgusting. Just crap that you can buy in a store, with ice cold butter packets which can't be spread. Again, leaning towards everything being frozen and thawed. We couldn't smell anything being cooked ... and we were near the kitchen. I like restaurants where it smells like cooking or you can see the chefs preparing the food. This is a chain, they freeze the food and ship it to the stores to be reheated in the microwaves. STAY AWAY. Save your money. The only reason we went here was to blow a gift card that we got. $33 for 2 dishes of nasty microwaved rubbery fried food. If you're looking for a nice italian place in Braintree ... lookup Maria's on Quincy ave. Or Campenellis near the square. They at least cook their food when you order.

I visited The Chateau last night to celebrate my Mother-in-law's birthday. We had a party of 9 people and my Mother-in-law picked the restaurant because she wanted to try somewhere new. When my Mother-in-law turned to Google to search for the dinner menu and came up with this link: chateaurestaurant.com/_f… She printed it and brought it with her to the restaurant for the 20% off. Well, the wait staff was pretty rude about it (and tried to tell her the printout wasn't from their website). I understand if the website is out of date and they couldn't honor the coupon, but they shouldn't have been rude to my Mother-in-law about it. The food was tasty (I had the turkey dinner special) and we'd be back, if it weren't for the treatment of the waitstaff. The waitstaff rarely checked on the table and didn't refill drinks in a timely manor.

NO stars deserved! June 30th 2014 7:30 p.m. i was referred to the chateau by a coworker . I wanted a nice italian meal. I' m a widow and try to go out for dinner every three weeks, trying to move on . Went in said just one was told to follow was brought all the way through a almost empty restaurant past a FEW tables with guests. I was brought all the way to the very back corner . I was looking at themenu when a man went by my table through a swinging door. The waitress came and i asked where the restroom was she saidd right there ( swining door). I said I cant believe I was seated next to the restroom. I can't eat here . She said she could move me .I said no I shouldn't have been seated here in the first place not when there was ALOT OF EMPTY TWO PLACE SEATING AVAILABLE. I went to Bugaboo Creek next doorI was so upset, hurt and felt humiliated. I was seated, treated nice, good meal , thanked and wished a good night.$18.19 meal gave $24.00 I always try to give more than twenty percent for being a single diner. Through the meal I kept my eyes down trying to blink away the tears of hurt, frustration, anger from the ignorance from the chateau. When I got home I called The Chateau anf spoke to Cindy Foley the manager. She made excuses for her staff stating they have to fill all of the seating areas. When I said there was plenty of open tables ,she said the waitress was going to seat me first at anothertable but it was dirty. I told her there was no dirty tables as we walked all the way to the back corner of the restaurant. She then said each waitress gets the next guest who comes in to be seated in their section. So I asked if my waitress had only one table? She said no, so then why wasn ' t I seated someplace else in her section instead of ri ght next to the restrooms?.. she dodge answering going back to the same story about the whole restaurant has to be seated.....why would you fill the worst seat when your restaurant was only 20% full??????PUT YOURSELF IN MY PLACE WOULD YOU WANT TO BE SEATED NEXT TO THE BATHROOM WHEN YOU GO OUT TO EAT??????? No only if there was no other table available. Let me be very clear I wasn't and I'm not looking for anything but an apology and some understanding . BE MATURE AND ADMIT YOUR ERROR SHOW OTHERS RESPECT AS YOU WOULD SHOWN TO YOU? THE MESSAGE TO YOU AT THE CHATEAU IS I HOPE YOU LEARN SOMETHING FROM THIS AND IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN TO ANYONE WHO CHOOSES TO EAT AT YOUR RESTAURANT I know it will never be me.

Ok well this is my final time!!!!! I have been a loyal customer for years. I have loved the bar and keno great place to do that. So first of all the bartenders which I will not put them on blast but I will describe, short black hair who now tends bar is horrible. The other one who does not work there any more Christina cough cough was horrible too. Short black hair is very unattentive only cares about her " crew" I have paid a lot of money to the bar along with the lottery for this big disappointed I would never ever recommend this place. If I could not highlight a star I would rather flush it down a toilet with a big shit afterwards

I love this place. The bread is fantastic and whatever they put in the sauce is so good. Waitstaff can be hit or miss, today's was excellent. For some reason they don't have the two plate combo meal anymore. Make sure to try the toasted ravioli

Very surprised last Sunday. Ordered my favorite veal parmigiana. I cut a piece and put it in my mouth and it was mushy. I knew something was very wrong and sent it back, it will be a long time before we go back.

Ok here's my assumption - chicken parm is made with 1) chicken and 2) Parmesan cheese. Having made this dish myself at least 100x, I know this to be true. After ordering this, I realize the Chateu's assumption is much different than mine I've visited this place in the past, swearing never to return. However, today I was headed to Braintree T and this place is the closest stop for a beer and keno. I do not recommend making a food decision on this basis. Why not try chicken parm-you can't screw that up. Wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong management, but the chicken was pre breaded and, likely frozen. And the slab of cheese thrown on before sending it under the broiler was NOT Parmesan. Maybe American cheese or some cheap provolone from BJs, but definitely NOT Parmesan. Terrible. The sauce was jarred, or their best effort at duplicating a jarred sauce, and the pasta was overcooked. Boring as hell presentation, unappetizing. Only giving 2 stars for the overextended bartender/waitress Lisa who was pleasant throughout, though inefficient at serving a small lunch crowd. Who can blame her with the local/over65 clientele, none of whom issued even a cursory smile. I am endlessly disappointed by food in this town. Only Sintra stands out in a sea of low expectations. Nice decor Chateau, but big fail at delivering even the basics of decent Italian food. Now I promise to myself to remember why I swore this place off in the first place.

Don't know how they stay in business! Rude staff, horrible food! Confronted by 2 guidos that are management, well one was, the other was his tough guy son!! Even the bar waitress said they're hoods! Sad, very sad, as this place given the right management could excel!

We got seated at the lounge area which was fine. Cozy banquet. It took a whole lot of time before anyone came over to say hello or take a drink order. At least 5 minutes! Her first remark was being surprised that no one brought bread over. Hmmm, I thought it was her that suppose to bring it? Maybe after we order drinks? So I put an app in which came in a reasonable amount of time for half order of buffalo wings that did not appear delectable. It was only partially covered in sauce. Half ass toss job to be exact! The dinner took forever to come. She did go in to check but never updated us. I finished my Arnold Palmer waiting and asked for second which took part way eating into entree to get it. At least the food didn't come out cold! Her service was reflected on gratuity. I never thought it would be a two hour dinner at a family restaurant! This will be the last time I dine here till I forget this experience.

First time I visited this restaurant. The menu presentation: The menu presentation is really confusing at first sight, at second and at third. I took half an hour to decide what to eat because everthing on the menu was just too much and disorganized to me. Huge letters and wide "articles" describing the sides and how to ask your meal. Have you seen Cheesecake Factory menu? It is a bible but you can actually enjoy you adventure through its pages and understand it. The meal: After deciding what to eat in a hurry I decided to change my mind last minute to try something new. The food was really really okay. Like a poor okay. I'm not recommending not to try new things because you never know what's gonna happen but in this case, I had to follow my judgment. Everything else was okay too.

I've never been particularly amazed by their food. However, I have gone a handful of times because they happen to be ridiculously close to my house. Their food is ok, not spectacular and frankly overpriced for the quality. While the food is OK, the service really leaves something to be desired. My waitress tonight had no personality what so ever and spent most of the evening ignoring my husband and myself, so she could hang out with her friends at the next table. However we didn't decide until after we were done eating that we were never going again. You see, my husband used to restroom and that's where all h&!&&! broke lose. He went in there and apparently someone had been getting it on in the bathroom and they left their evidence behind. My husband let the manager know and he couldn't have cared less, no apologizes, nothing. I asked to speak with him and told him this was unacceptable. Chateau peeps, if you're reading this, your "manager" Michael sucks. After arguing back and forth and him even suggesting that we could've planted it there, he offered a whopping 25% off our dinner. Big deal. We will never return. This is a restaurant, not a nasty night club!!

We have been here more than once for supper. We usually get the chicken parm, which is good. We suggested it to friends when we were going to lunch. Both men got the haddock. The serving was incredibly small for $15. When my husband asked, the waitress said they should have asked for the dinner meal because it was bigger. My husband and I went for supper last night. We both got the broiled haddock. His meal was completely cold, mine was lukewarm The portion was no bigger than the lunch serving. It was $4 more. We won't be going back.

Possibly the worst Italian restaurant I've been to . Tried the saltimbocca , let's say the chicken was cooked , that was the good news. The sauce was not a wine based sauce snd the veggies were literally cold , sent them back for a reheat and expected the minimum of a microwave heating they came back just as cold Couldn't finish the meal because it was just wrong on so many levels. Sauce, frozen Chicken , and cold sides , crisp wine selection . I don't recommend this at all

Ordered takeout here for the first time. Ordered the full order of garlic and oil mussels, fabulous! Also got the chicken parm entree with linguine and a side of sautéed spinach. Last time I had been there, I remembered the portion size to be a bit bigger, especially for the price, but still delicious. The chicken parm was great! Big piece of chicken and a decent amount of linguine. My father got the fried scallop and fried clam combination, which came with French fries and coleslaw. He said it was delicious! When I called I informed the girl on the phone that he was allergic to shrimp and lobster. She assured me after double checking with the kitchen that they would be able to accommodate his meal even with said allergy. I really appreciate her understanding of his allergy and taking it into consideration. The Parmesan cheese packets and wet naps were a nice little addition. Overall, great experience! I did not get the girls name that took my order over the phone, but I thought she deserved some recognition.

I have dined here somewhat regularly and generally enjoy eating in the bar area. It is a family type restaurant but you can enjoy watching sports, playing KENO and having a cocktail. Well I don't know what they are trying to accomplish by shoving all those new (uncomfortable) tables and chairs in the bar area and seating loud families with children on top of you. It is not the adult experience I am looking for when I dine out and never mind that children should not be gambling with their parents and exposed to a bar in the first place.

I have been eating here for years. The food is really good. The free bread is worth the trip alone! This is a busy fast paced restruant and the wait staff does a great job. The manager always seems to stop by to say hello and ask how everything is. I highly recommend you stop by and find out for yourself.

Had pizza at the bar. The food is decent here but the bartender we had was horrible. Served us the wrong drinks....took forever to get her attention. I think she had some friends at the bar and she was focused on them. I guess the message is don't go there on a Friday afternoon.

One of my favorite Italian restaurant since college. I've always been to the Waltham location and I'm glad they opened one in Braintree, closer to home. The toasted raviolis are amazing and the homemade sauce is awesome. I love their lasagna, chicken parm, meatballs... everything! The desserts are yummy too, especially the grape nut pudding. The staff are super friendly and when they are busy, the wait time is Not bad at all. I love their bread too, sesame. The portions are huge.

If I could give this place less stars I would... I am not one to complain about food or write reviews, but man this place really was a disappointment. My fiancé and I read reviews before we went and the reviews weren't great, but we wanted to give it a try anyways. I have returned food once in my life, this was the second time. My fiancé took one bite of his shrimp scampi and his stomach couldn't handle the grease. It was a meal I could have made healthier and yummier at home. It was bland and greasy. The waitress however was super nice and understanding when I returned my food. Will never go back again

I honestly don't know what the hype is about this place. Or maybe I have higher expectations? My in-laws invited us to the Chateau one evening for dinner with other family members. As a party of six trying to get a table on a Saturday night, we figured there would be a little bit of a wait. We were seated quickly in the bar that was trying to masquerade itself as a dance club. I honestly didn't understand the choice of music in a place that's trying to be "comfort Italian" and the justification of the volume. The ceilings are so high, floor is solid and the noise will echo ... loudly, at that. Anyhoo ... the service was just okay. Nothing terrible, nothing bad. Our table was served bread that looked like it just came out of the Stop & Shop Italian bread loaf bag. Drinks were left unfilled and dirty plates accumulated rather quickly. Hubs ordered the fried ravioli appetizer and I could tell it wasn't "fresh" as advertised and rather pulled from the freezer and dropped in the fryer. I had a chicken caesar salad only because I don't eat a lot of pasta and nothing particularly jumped off the menu that sparked my interest. The salad was just okay and it wasn't anything particular memorable. I can see how this restaurant makes its money in the "turn and burn" mentality. I think you can find much better food somewhere else.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews since this is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. The atmosphere is great and the servers are fast and friendly. The Chateau has my favorite ravioli anywhere. It's a huge portion and it's mouthwatering. The chicken parm is great as well. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with the clam chowder, chicken fingers, fried calamari, or mozzarella sticks.

An Italian restaurant that seems to lack soul or a true identity. This is evident by the atmosphere in the restaurant and the confusing menu with way too nanyang options. Flooding the menu with hundreds of overly complex Italian sounding words does not make this restaurant authentic or the food taste good.

Went to the Chateau on sat night.it was very busy as usual..the hostesses were very welcoming when we arrived..we waited about 30 min. After we got seated our server was prompt and efficient..the food was hot and tasty..we even got a special visit from the manager who stopped by to see if everything was okay.. She couldn't have been more pleasant..we told her how great everything was, and she said "thank you", we really appreciate that.. We will definitely be back to Braintree Chateau... What a great night!

We went to dinner last night here after track for the first time in a while. I have to sat the place wasn't busy and we waited forever for our food. The place was freezing. We had a fan blowing on us and the kids were getting upset between the food being so long and the fan. The good is great I have to say that. We will go back but the last several times I have noticed the kitchen is much slower.

Tough to give a two but as a frequent bar guest I get frustrated at every visit due more to the management unawarenes of the simple things that make a bar/lounge a place to relax and perhaps unwind. The food has always been good and the bartenders for the most part are on their game and do a nice job.But...but why is it so hard to lower the lights after sundown and keep up with sport LIVE sports and news events on the great tv set up they have....Mangement in this place is continually absent of any common sense on running a bar...Lights like last call all the time...just ridiculous...Who wants to sit at a bar with irrelevant things on tv and try to drink eat and relax like your in center field of fenway park on a night game...Place does close early but does not need to but the mgmt insurs that if your younger then 55 you better find another place to go....Just bad mgmt all around in this place... Sunday Aug 31 was the worst example of this...forced me to do this Yelp....because it is the norm...Get a clue guys......

BLAND and PLAIN food! The complimentary bread took a while to be served and it was COLD! I ordered the Chicken Francais. It had absolutely no flavor at all! I had to keep adding lots of salt and pepper and it still didn't get tasteful. My in-laws ordered the Chicken Picatta and Chicken Palermo. The Chicken Picatta had NO FLAVOR whatsoever. My mother-in-law added so much salt and it still was very bland. The Chicken Palermo was great! It was the only dish that was worth eating and feeling satisfied. I felt as if I was in a nursing home on a no-salt diet. Even hospital food tastes better than this. WILL NOT be coming back to this crappy place. I'm a big foodie and like supporting local restaurants, but honestly, I rather go to Bertucci's or Olive Garden. At least they bring out warm bread and their food has lots of flavor. As for the prices, I think it's a bit too high specially since it doesn't taste well. I do not recommend it to people who really know about flavorful and great food and who have functioning taste buds.

I've been here a couple of times, but I think I liked it better when it was a Famous Dave's. Every time I go here for lunch, I go home with diarrhea. I don't know if it's the sauce or whatever, but I know that no one in my family has gone back to this place in maybe over a year. The pizza's are okay, but that's only because they are hard to screw up. One thing I remember about this place is that it is pretty much where the retirement bus drops off people for lunch. Not that older people love Italian food, but there's something to be said when the only people in the place are all over 60. I also remember a server either forgetting to put in my order or mistakenly overcharging my mother for something that we didn't order. Either way, the wait for food and the staff could be a lot better. Try some other place for Italian.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
