Meandered into Wheelhouse during a lunch break walk looking for something new. Boy am I happy I decided to order lunch here! Delicious and quality burgers. I had the signature with cheddar. I was expecting more of a thousand island based house sauce, but it had hints of honey, mustard, horseradish, but was delicious nonetheless. Just a heads up if you are expecting something different. I was pleasantly surprised when realizing this burger is a double! You definitely needs chips or some sort of snack, because the burger alone will not fill most people, or at least only temporarily. Also, they didn't ask how I would like my burger cooked - normally I go for med. rare but it was still cooked well! I will definitely be going back, but I would like to spread out my trips as this kind of lunch is not the healthiest!

We went for breakfast. More of a takeout place than a restaurant, just counters and stools (no tables to sit at). Breakfast consists of breakfast sandwiches (all with meat; you can hold it but then you're losing the taste and it's then expensive for what you get), oatmeal, muffins, bagels, packaged yoghurt, and cut fruit. A real New Orleans vibe. Friendly staff.

Loved the chorizo sandwich best breakfast sandwich i have ever had! I also got the iced egg nog coffee which was yummy. Great price point great food cant wait to try something else on the menue!

My coworkers and I came to Wheelhouse for lunch today and we were all TOTALLY satisfied! They have such a variety of burgers on the menu, it seems there's something for everyone! And each burger is unique and exciting. I cant wait to try more! I had the mexican black bean burger (vegetarian) with street corn and pickled onion toppings. Such bold flavor! I loved it. The burger size is a perfect lunch portion. Which I appreciate very much. I wished they had some fries, but they have lots of other good options for sides. I'm a fan of this place and will return, but maybe a perfect basket of fries would have bumped this up to 5-stars.

This place is AMAZING!!!!! Not only is the food amazing, (I already have many future lunch dates planned)...but the atmosphere and the service were great too! I had the chicken caesar meatball sandwich, the fun guy, the man cave, and both the potato and pasta salads...yes I have had them all and have enjoyed EVERY mouth watering bite! I completely recommend this place to EVERYONE!

Being a frequent visitor of New Orleans, I had to try the NOLA bfast sandwich. It had an awesome spice to it, more of a slow burn that builds up kinda spice rather than in your face. Sandwich was girthy, fresh made, definitely worth the few extra bucks. Definitely looking forward to trying a burger, hoping I can snag the Chuck Norris burger before its too late.

The good reviews are absolutely on target! I had the chorizo breakfast sandwich just now, and it was the best breakfast sandwich ever. The house made chorizo was perfectly seasoned. Good coffee, too. This is an unassuming, mostly takeout kind of place, but don't miss it.

My colleagues and I grabbed lunch at Wheelhouse and it was awesome. One of the best lunch stops in the Financial District. I got the "Man Cave". The ingredients were all fresh - ground beef pounded into a patty on the spot. Portion size was perfect - not too filling for lunch, but still a serious burger. Wheelhouse earned a spot in the rotation.

Friendly staff, creative iced drinks for the summer, and delicious food. A+! Stoked that this is near my office.

Best breakfast sandwich in town. Traditional with bacon is divine. All cooked to order.

  • Leon K.

I've been here for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, I had the Chorizo, and it was delicious. The chorizo patty was spicy and the eggs just a bit runny, which is how I like them. For lunch, I had the man cave, which was juicy and just bursting with flavor. For the price point, the burgers and breakfast food here is the best, especially considering many of the pricier options, or the cheaper but simpler breakfast sandwiches you can get in the area.

  • Marco P.

Seriously, Just go! Burgers were phenomenal - Man Cave all the way! I just wish I could order online for pickup like Tasty Burger has in Southie!

Stopped in when I saw their sign out from for cinnamon toast crunch flavored iced coffee- delicious! Have been back for the breakfast sandwich (sausage egg and cheese) since which was fantastic! Great staff too. Wish they were open on Sundays.

Love this place! My first time I had the onion jam burger, it was good but a little too sweet for my taste. The next two times I've had the Wheelhouse burger, it's my new obsession. I do wish they offered fries since the burgers are a little small. Best tasting burgers I've had in a long time!

  • Laurie G.

Awesome pulled pork! Service was great! Chocolate chip cookie was great and they serve breakfast all day long! I will definitely be going back to try more!

coworkers brought me here for a breakfast sandwich - tried the NOLA. freaking awesome - spicy, but not infernal. sausage was great, cheese was melted. awesome breakfast spot. can't wait to try lunch/the fried rice breakfast

After going to Wheelhouse, you'll never order a Dunkin Donuts' breakfast sandwich ever again. Well, you might, but you won't enjoy it. This place has the best breakfast sandwiches in the city. I've tried the Nola and Chorizo sandwiches. Both were excellent, but I prefer the Nola because it has sausage links instead of a sausage patty; but that's just my personal preference. You can't go wrong with either. You pay for what you get as the price for a breakfast sandwich is about $5. But it's well worth it for the fresh ingredients and friendly staff. There have been many days when I've gone here for both breakfast and lunch as their burgers rival their breakfast sandwiches. But I'll go on about those later.... For now, get here and try the deliciously spicy Nola breakfast sandwich. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I tried this place out for lunch today because she was craving a burger. We got the Wheelhouse and the Jam Session. It is a double pattie, probably about the size of my fist. Pattie was juicy and flavorful, so much so, that the pattie overwhelmed the flavor from the toppings. But it is definitely a good price for the quality of burger you're getting. All in all, we enjoyed our first burgers at this place and look forward to coming back to try other things on the menu.

Stopped by Wheelhouse in a rush to grab a quick lunch. Service was quick and the food was delicious! I had the cornucopia burger (turkey burger with roasted corn and salsa) which was super flavorful. My son had the Wheelhouse burger and really enjoyed that too! The only bummer which has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FOOD was the lack of a bathroom. For a young kid, it was tough waiting for the burger when you really got to go! We had to grab our food and run to get to a restroom. But, this is supposed to be about the food. The burgers were great!! Service was quick and loved the tip of the hat to Coming to America....Akeem!

  • Brian S.

I wish there was more...that's all I can say as I finished my burger. I got there Jam session and it was really good, but the whole burger is probably the size of your fist. All their food is made to order so it does take a good 5 or so minutes. It was $8 with tax and unfortunately I will probably not order another burger from here again, unless I had a second lunch.

  • Patrick S.

Need a wicked awesome breakfast sandwich? WHEELHOUSE! Legitimately the best breakfast sandwich I've had (the NOLA to be specific). My dad loved his classic breakfast sandwich as well. Mine was dripping fat from the cheese and chorizo but man was it the perfect amount of spicy and flavor. Would definitely go back!

Probably one of the best burgers I've had in Boston period. It's hard to compare because I don't have burgers often but this was definitely top notch. The flavor and how it was cooked to PERFECTION made me contemplate ordering another one... but I was already full! It was that good! I'm basing this review on their signature burger - the wheelhouse. I'll definitely be back to try others because they have some great offerings.

I want to come here all summer I finally got there and the burger was not that great parking sucks I had to pay $20 for 30 minute parking. The only reason I know about this place because yelp send me email so I want to try it out so I the end of the day I spent $40 for two burgers and they didn't even taste good at all

    (3)
  • Tracy K.

Hands down if you're in the area go check out Wheelhouse. The Chuck Norris burger was life changing! Probably the best burger ever. The Southern Belle was also really good!

  • Laurie V.

Hands down best music playlist ever of a restaurant I've been to. Granted, I was there a total of 45 mins but, a joint that plays Tupac at 8 in the morning is good with me and my group of 10+ ppl from the BEST Coast (West Coast)! Had a sample of various sandwiches, as well, as my fried rice topped with over easy egg and chorizo sausage patty. Loved the freshness of ingredients. Breakfast didn't seem too hearty and heavy, especially after a night of pub crawls and Henny shots. Just enough to fill my hangover tummy.

A great find through Yelp! The food was so good that I recommend it to anyone in the area! I got the NOLA breakfast sandwich. The creole sauce meshed so well with the crispy, warm English muffin. The sausage added a nice, meaty texture and just flowed well with the egg and cheese. It was made to order, so it was nice and warm on a cold day. My friend had the turkey burger, which was also great and a good alternative. The fried sage leaves is probably what makes this different than most turkey burgers. I was surprised with the portion, it was large! The burger also had a nice twist with the balsamic butter. We also got an order the smash fry. It was different, but I could not tell if I liked it or not. It is definitely worth a shot, though! I also got their vanilla butter cream coffee. It was so good. I only mention this because I was able to drink it straight black (& I usually have to add some milk/sugar) but this was barely sweet to where I did not need anything. It was great! Everyone there was friendly, kind, and helpful. It was my first time there, so they kindly suggested things and was patient when we were ordering. I will have to come back and try their other breakfast sandwiches and food in general because all looks so good.

Yum! We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joe (celery and carrot slaw tossed in blue cheese) and the Purist (2 burgers and cheese on a bun). It was so good!!!!! We'll be back, and may make a breakfast appearance next time to try the Breakfast Fried Rice....Mmmm!

Walked over from our Hotel for a quick breakfast the day before we left Boston and we were so sad we had not stopped in before! We had the Breakfast Fried Rice and the Chorizo sandwich. Both were delicious. Highly recommend!

What a hidden gem. Small place tucked about a block from the Hilton we stayed at. We've had two sandwiches for breakfast. The Traditional with egg whites and bacon. The bacon had a great crisp to it and the egg white was a real egg white! Not out of a box. I had the Nola and the Chorizo patty sandwich. I'm telling you they skip nothing here. Whether it be the crack of a fresh egg or a fresh slice of avocado. Do yourself a favor and find this place when in downtown Boston.

BEST BURGERS ever ! Friendly service in a delightful setting. We'll be back soon !

Never tried their breakfast sandies... but hell, those pictures are making my mouth water. I live right next door to this place, and the coffee is the best I have found in Boston yet. I have lost understanding of how people can go to the chains in Boston when we have such great small coffee shops... this being one... i love flavored coffee.. some may say I am no coffee connoisseur because I like the 'fake' stuff.. but come on 'cinnamon toast crunch' coffee? it is like heaven in your mouth. My boyfriend gets just the black coffee (lame) but he says its also great! My next move- trying one of the sandwiches!

    (5)
  • Richard L M.

These folks know what they're doing, signature breakfast sandwiches and burgers. Can't wait to work my way through the entire menu! Worth exercising for just so I can comeback! If you like mildly spicy try the NOLA.

Breakfast is tough. It's always one of those things that are always the same. I mean how many times can you do the same Sausage, Egg and Cheese biscuit or put your own twist on hash browns? Wheelhouse has some simple but different and tasty breakfast sandwiches along with their smashed "hash browns" that are delicious cold as well as hot. If in the area it stands out as a quick breakfast grab. They need to be more professional. Stop giggeling when taking a phone order and when people are coming to pick up their orders don't be eating behind the counter. Simple order of 2 sandwiches and smashed potatoes, they forgot the potatoes but made them quick and didn't charge me for them. Thank you.

Wow, a burger for breakfast. A real burger. Good stuff and hit the spot.

Treated to breakfast here after I beat a coworker in a Fantasy Football tilt. Stopped in on a Friday morning, around 930am. No wait, and the counter staff was attentive and helpful. I went with the coffee-crusted burger breakfast sandwich. Perfect way to kick off the weekend. I also opted for one of their signature hashbrowns/homefries, which were tasty but had chilled somewhat by the time we got back to the office. Overall a great experience, albeit significantly expensive. And be sure to validate your order before you leave; we were originally sent packing sans hashbrowns/homefries. Good thing we checked before we left. PS......*loved* the Wu-Tang playing while we were waiting for our order. Great stuff.

"The Chorizo" ($5.95) - breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with house made chorizo patty topped with an egg, melted jack cheese, avocado and a verde sauce. Wow. What a creation! It's really the house made chorizo that makes this regular breakfast sandwich from ok to great. Good spices though not really spicy hot. A lot of flavour and just a great start to the day. Ordered a small regular coffee for $1.25. There's no fancy coffee here, if you want that there's a few other cafés just a few doors away. Coffee was ok for that price but pretty mediocre flavour. Not a lot of seating here. Mostly eat and go. Wasn't sure what was up with the playlist but I walked into a lot of John Mayer songs. I nearly walked out as the soft coffeehouse songs nearly put me to sleep.

First lunch stop in Boston and what a way to start the vacation. Pig burger, any burger cuz they are all amazing. Flavorful beef patties, yum-olicious rolls toasted to a golden brown and a truly epic selection of toppings and combinations. Your tastebuds will thank you for sure. Limited bar seating inside but a burger and more joint you don't want to pass up. My wife scarfed down a gruyere with mushroom--immense cheesiness and earthy mushroom nom nom. Son had pulled pork...made the pig proud! And i went with the wheelhouse signature burger...nom nom nom! Do it, do it!

Since this place opened they've been serving up my favorite breakfast sandwich in the entire city of Boston. The chorizo sandwich. It's so good I can't stand it. Thank you for consistently making this sandwich the best thing ever.

Best. Breakfast Sandwich. Ever. We ordered 2 classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches with maple cream. Honestly best we have ever had! Delicious times 1000- will come back everytime we are in the city!

Perfect place to grab well prepped food that taste great. Not a sit down, but a local busy place with limited seating. Yes, eat here!!!

I am not exaggerating when I say this: BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH EVER. I am usually a really picky eater, and I like things very plain, and simple. However, I was blown away by the creative and delicious breakfast sandwiches. I had the southern belle and it was SO GOOD. I would definitely go back on any visit to Boston. Only open on weekdays.

Friendly staff and amazing burgers - great lunch spot downtown. I loved the pimento burger. Also, the Coming to America employee of the month sign with Hakeem made my year so five stars right there

Delicious burgers. Their buns are the best I've had. The man cave and the breakfast burger are both delightful.

  • Sam A.

I'm in town for the week and came across Wheelhouse one morning before work. I decided that a breakfast burger was a good way to start a work trip and boy was I right. I like the methods they use to make burgers (scoop out the beef right onto the grill and form as it cooks) and the end product was spiced brilliantly. My only complaint was that the yolk in yesterday's burger was firm, but when I asked for a runny yolk this morning they delivered the goodness. I'll remember these folks when I come back to town in the future.

    (4)
  • Ben S.

You will not find a better burger than this in Boston. PERIOD. They've only been open for a few months and already it seems as though Wheelhouse is developing a cult following. The ingredients are fresh and the flavor combinations are inventive. I had the "Man Cave" (a double burger with jalapeño beer cheese spread, bourbon glazed onions and chopped bacon) and my wife had the "Purist" (double burger, cheese, bun. That is all) with some bacon thrown on top. This was the beginning of our trip and what a way to kick it off. We both left smiling, not just because of the superb burgers, but because of the friendly staff as well. Next time we're in town, we will definitely return here! They have a breakfast menu which looked great as well.

1st of many visits today. Having been to many other if not all the other burger places in and around Boston - wheelhouse is the best.

  • Wayne C.

It was 2pm, and I was the only customer there. I ordered the man cave. Honestly, it didn't look elegant, but juicy and tasty. The sauce was really unforgettable and delicious. I definitely will visit again to try other good stuff.

Best burgers in Boston hands down. I thought JM Curleys had great burgers, but Wheelhouse is the best. They are a little pricey but worth every penny. Service is top notch and they are always nice and courteous. I usually get the wheelhouse with their smashed fries. This place is salivatingly good.

  • Michael C.

Great place to grab a burger in the the Financial District/Post Office Square. The burgers themselves seem to be of great quality, better than most of the bars in the general area for sure. The bun comes lightly toasted and they have a few varieties to choose from. I have had the Jam Session which I thought was good, but not great. It came with a bacon and onion jam spread and cheddar cheese, I just didn't find this one all that flavorful. On my next visit I went for the Wheelhouse burger and for under $8 I was treated to a tasty, but a little messy, burger. There isn't much room to sit in here and they don't offer plates so plan on taking your burger to go. I was the packaging was a little better on these burgers, if you eat this at your desk be sure to grab a plate.

Wheelhouse, you guys are for sure going to be successful. What's better than a spot with great service AND great food to complement the service? I came in right before the rush and thought I was fortunate but it seemed everyone got their food in very little time so rush or not, you would not have to wait long. The employees are always smiling and it makes you just enjoy the shop as a whole. I ordered a chorizo style breakfast sandwich without chorizo and it was very flavorful which I believe was the genius addition of verde sauce. The potato pancakes were also so good. My friend was looking for hash browns and she said the potato pancakes hit the spot. They weren't just potatoes...they were lightly seasoned which made it so enjoyable. Keep it up wheelhouse! I'm rooting for you guys.

My friend and I had the chorizo breakfast sandwich. Chorizo is made in house. Flavorful/delicious. The place is small but cute. I would definitely come back to try other burgers/sandwiches!

Awesome morning music to get you going, coffee is good not great (I think because it was called cinnamon toast crunch elevated my expectations too high). However... The food, my god the food It was unreal, me and my whole group literally sat in silence mowing through undeniably delicious breakfast sandwiches. If you're in Boston and you want breakfast or lunch or a snack or whatever you need to go here, its awesome!

  • Pete W.

The Chuck Norris....... they have a burger named the Chuck Norris!!!! Easily one of the better burger experiences in the last year. I am certainly going to make a point to grab some lunch here the next time I am in Boston. i would recommend the same to anyone visiting the area.

  • Kathy O.

Yum! One of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I've ever had. 4 types of iced coffee. Heaven. My only issue was I ordered the breakfast sandwich sans meat (no true vegetarian option on menu) so it wasn't very big and I was still hungry afterwards!

    (4)
  • Jenni R.

I LOVE this place!!!! The menu is huge and full of incredible options both for breakfast and lunch! Every item I have tried so far has been delicious!!! All the items are made to order but they have a great system down so I've never had to wait!! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!

Delicious!! Breakfast sandwich!! It tasted soooooo good I was in Boston on vacation and everyone was so kind and the food was great. People kept coming in and out so it was a quick go to place for breakfast!! Can't wait to come back the next time I'm in Boston

Waited 20 mins for a breakfast sandwich, fuuuuuuug that. Burger: flavor and toppings are great, but how did the patties cook half medium and half well done??? (Ended up being cold while waiting for the breakfast sandwich) Maybe it was just a dud order, I'll try it again, we'll see. *best music playlist in downtown Boston

Limited menu but very tasty grub. Friendly place with a great atmosphere. Great place to come for simple breakfast sandwiches. Made fresh. Not wrapped in plastic and nuked like most morning places (cough,.. Starbucks).

Great. Great. Great. Chorizo sandwich unlike anything I have seen or tasted. Delicious. Too bad I don't live nearby or I would be the regulars regular. Love the whole in the wall small space. Only wish they had a few tables to sit at.

I went for the first time for lunch today, and here are my pros and cons: PROS: 1) Funky atmosphere and great music. 2) Hamburger meat was excellent. 3) Smashed fries were new to me, but tasted great and were a pleasant surprise. CONS: 1) The burger was so juicy, that the bun was a complete soggy, gross mess. I had to separate the burger from the bread, and just threw the bread away. 2) One of the burger patties was grossly undercooked and had to be tossed. 3) $10 for just those two items. I will probably go back again to try the chicken meatball caesar sandwich, as it sounded interesting, and it may up my rating...but for now I must say my experience wasn't great nor horrible. It was just, meh.

Your good down to earth breakfast/ lunch spot with the essentials and a little of their personal flair. Catchy menu item names associated to people, places and things. As well as frequently changing the menu items too. The wife and I found this place randomly on yelp and gave it a shot...to which turned out pretty good in our favor. We got two sandwiches the first being the chorizo breakfast sandwich which came with a fresh cooked to order house made sausage, melted cheese, salsa verde, avocado and a nice over easy cooked egg with just enough spice! The second was "The Traditional" which pretty much hit the title on the spot. It was a toasted English muffin with egg, bacon (but you could sub sausage or ham), gooey melted cheese with just enough seasoning tasting good. Wifey and I ate half and of each and switched...it was the best of both worlds and then we topped it off with a couple of coffees for the road (and in typical New England they serve it iced too!) all and all a pretty easy start to the day with just enough food that it wasn't "roll me around the city" full.

  • Richard W.

Went for the firs time today and got the Chicken Cesar Meatball sandwich and smashed fries. The sandwich had way too much char on it and the smashed fries were very floury tasting. I'll give it another try and hope it gets better.

  • Michelle R.

I dig the burgers here, perfect hangover meal. Tried the classic but can't wait to go back for a different kind in the next few weeks. It's in no way good for you but it tastes so damn good you won't care. Room for improvements: 1) Sides. No fries is a bit bizarre for a burger place and the pasta salad was underwhelming. 2) Combo's. $10 is a bit steep for a burger and pasta salad considering they're not too big, it's a reach to go here since FiDi has so many cheap options.

We grabbed breakfast sandwiches before heading to the airport. All three of us loved our choices, andouille sausage, chorizo and lots of unique combinations. Highly recommend checking it out for grab and go.

Coffee encrusted burger? Yes, please. Also I'm not really a coffee drinker, but their iced coffees are just silly delicious. Not to mention their friendly service and atmosphere

Very nice cozy place. We stopped by for breakfast and omg, we were so happy here! I had breakfast fried rice. Love it!!! I can eat this everyday! Staff were very friendly and you can see them cook right in front of you.

Wow. I had the breakfast fried rice and it was perfect for the gloomy fall morning. The coffee was good as well! They've only been open 3 months, eat there so we can keep coming back for awhile!

  • David C.

...the chorizo sandwich is maybe the most amazing thing I have ever had for breakfast. I'll probably be back for lunch today to try a burger. Be sure to plan on it taking a little extra time for your food, but believe me...good things come to those who wait.

  • Blaire O.

I go the Wheelhouse a lot to grab breakfast. It is one my weekly big treat places. I have tried the Chorizo, NOLA and traditional breakfast sandwiches. I have tried the breakfast burger that is cooked in coffee. My favorite thing to get there is the breakfast fried rice. It has rice, cheese, spicy sausage and a fried egg on top. It is delicious but I wish they sold it in two serving sizes. That is the downside of the Wheelhouse that serving size leaves me hungry/wanting more. I am already thinking about the next time I am going to the breakfast fried rice!

  • Dean M.

Great food. Really nice staff. The burgers are a mess to eat. You'll need many , many napkins. The potato things don't float my boat bug they're edible. I prefer the peanut noodles and fruit salad. Fast friendly service goes a long way downtown and they have it, but their food is good enough that they could be slow and rude and I'd still go.

Wandered into the Wheelhouse and skipped out happy as can be! I tried the Italian street vendor(sausage & peppers) and had them toast it in the oven. OMG! Delish. A lovely addition to the fidi lunch scene!

Came here when we were snowed-in in Boston. This was a cute little place with great service that serves a delicious chorizo breakfast sandwich. And we're from CA - we know chorizo haha.

  • Marlin F.

Unimpressed. I got the Boom goes the Dynamite burger which was not particularly spicy for how much hype they gave it on the menu "no returns for being too spicy." The meat patty was pretty much flavorless. Smash fries were poorly executed latkes.

  • Mikey S.

Good quality burgers. My friend and I each got Man Cave burgers, nice flavor but just wasn't big enough. We were hungry an hour later. Also, not sure how a burger place doesn't have an option for fries as a side.

  • Dawn A.

I had the Jam Session burger. I will admit this is the best take out burger I have had in the city. It was a big juicy burger with an onion/bacon "jam" and cheddar cheese. The choices are limited to burgers and sandwiches, but they seem to do their limited choices quite well. My burger cost $8.03 with tax. It was worth it.

We arrived five minutes after closing time and they fed us anyway. They'd even cleaned the grill already. Food came fast and was just what we'd hoped for, delicious, great service and cheap. I love Whealhouse.

I just discovered this place and immediately fell in love. I go a couple times a week for breakfast as it's right down the street from my office. The Traditional with their maple sauce is out of this world. I've tried nearly ever item on their breakfast menu and they're all winners. Can't go wrong here! I highly recommend it! Cool music too which helps wake me up in the morning. The staff are incredibly casual and friendly which is helpful.. I don't want to have to deal with some hardo first thing in the morning.

  • Mark S.

I went here after seeing the breakfast burger on the menu. That is right up my alley. Everything was well prepared, the egg had a nice quantity of yolk. The traditional burger bun just wasn't up to the task of holding it together, it got really soggy. For my tastes it needed something to break up the richness, some pickled jalapeños or something similar would knock it out of the park. Next time I think I would ask for it on an English muffin instead of a burger bun, it would be a bit more durable. Definitely good enough for a next time, especially when you look at it compared to subway or panera nearby.

The location was great and the vibe was awesome.. Pimento Burger was great!! Loved the smashed fries.. Go Pats!

  • Rick M.

Small place, small menu but great food! I had some of the steak and eggs, and also the chorizo along with the smash fry. The staff was very friendly and I like how the food is made in front of you. They also have a good selection of hot and iced coffees with different flavors that are flavored with sugar, not syrup. The portions are enough to fill you up and the prices are reasonable. Great choice for breakfast! I have no idea what the lunch menu is like but I'm sure it's just as good or even better!

  • Karen N.

I love this place! I come here pretty regularly since it's close to my workplace and it's definitely one of the best places in the entire city for breakfast food. Their prices are at the higher end for casual fast food, but their food is always amazing and worth it. My favorites are the steak chili and fried rice!

I went to Wheelhouse today to pick up a burger for lunch. It was absolutely delicious! As a vegetarian, sometimes it's hard to find a flavorful veggie burger. The Mexican Black Bean burger with corn and onion toppings was fantastic. It didn't even need cheese. My only complaint is that the burger was a little small. I'm still a bit hungry. I'd make sure I got a side next time... there will definitely be a next time!

    (4)
  • Laura A.

I visited the Wheelhouse for the first time about a week ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since. I tried the pimento cheeseburger and added the mexican street corn. It was delicious! The staff was so friendly and welcoming - with an obvious passion for their business. The menu takes classic items and brings them up a notch by adding a creative spin. Pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. I will definitely be back!

Five star greasy spoon! We got the breakfast fried rice and breakfast burger, both hit the spot and were somewhat complex. Bar seating, but fun ambience for a quick bite or take out. Perfect if you're looking for cheap, fast, and satisfying.

All kinds of different egg sandwiches. Had the chorizo egg sandwich made to order, never had anything like it. Great breakfast spot, lunch menu looks incredible as well.

  • Dave F.

The financial district needed a fast-casual lunch spot to grab a great burger. Wheelhouse certainly does job, and does so admirably. I had their Wheelhouse Burger, and it was delicious--made to order, with fresh ingredients and plenty of flavor, served within 5 minutes with a smile. I haven't tried the breakfast yet but am looking forward to making a trip soon.

Absolutely the "BEST" burger I have had in Boston. This is truly a little gem of a place with a simple menu that really surprises the palate. If you are downtown Boston and are in dire straits for an amazing burger, you really need to check this place out. It will not disappoint. As a matter of fact, you will probably be mad at yourself for not getting two burgers... Keep up the great work.

    (5)
  • Max R.

I got the Boom goes the Dynamite burger with the Smash Fries. The burger was good but only the sauce was spicy so some bites packed a punch while other bites were just mildly spicy. Don't expect the burgers to be huge. The Smash Fries were amazing but you only get 3. Whole thing cost around $11 which isn't bad for a quality burger with a small side of fries.

    (4)
  • Ryan A.

I've been here a few times, and have always been impressed. The prices are reasonable, but the portions are a bit small. I understand -- high-rent area and good ingredients. I'd love to see fries on the menu. The smashed potato things -- I forget what they're called -- are really good, though. It's difficult to decide what to get, everything I've had is so good and what I haven't tried seems really good. I'm often tempted to get two burgers and pretend that the other is for a friend. Maybe it's a good thing the portions aren't huge.

I get the first review? Just had the NOLA breakfast sandwich and was amazed. Looking forward to trying the homemade sausage and based on the menu descriptions can't wait to try the rest of their breakfast sandwiches as well as their burgers. This will be a great breakfast and lunch spot for the Financial District and Post Office Square work crowds and fortunate tourists who stumble upon this place.

  • Katherine K.

Great new spot downtown for breakfast or lunch. Chorizo egg sandwich was amazing. Can't wait to try out a burger for lunch. Staff was very friendly and nice layout. Looking forward to go back

We went for lunch on Monday at about two o'clock after what we thought would be the end of the lunch crowd. We ordered the Purist (cheeseburger) and the Wheelhouse (cheeseburger with special sauce and pickles), along with a bag of chips, and a soda. Total $16.85. The Purist was simple, no lettuce nor tomato, no mayo, and it was EXCELLENT in taste, and not messy to eat. We both thought these were the best we have had in a very long time and certainly the BEST in Boston. The meal was filling, and the price was right. You can eat there (long counter and stools), as we did, but I think this was designed for takeout; We were comfortable. Service was fast and friendly. We definitely will go back.

Really good burgers and smash fries!! Not a great sit down place with little kids but still worth it!!

    (4)
  • Samantha P.

I think I died and went to heaven after that breakfast sandwich. I'm a vegetarian and despite all their sandwiches having meat, I ordered just an egg and cheese and was so satisfied. Will definitely be back!

    (5)
  • Nate M.

Just had the Wheelhouse Burger. Quite good imo, the beef was quality (and cooked to a nice medium rare), the bun was toasted perfectly and the special sauce was present but not overpowering. I will definitely add this to my lunch rotation.

Best damn breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Made to order, superb taste, and served by positively friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

  • Kelly W.

This place is a gem! It's the small town coffee shop in the midst of the Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks spattered on every corner. Great staff and service and delicious breakfast sandwiches. They have a variety of iced coffee flavors which are a nice change from the basic french vanilla, hazelnut, etc. If you work in or near the financial district, I highly recommend you try this place out!

  • Steve L.

Looking for inexpensive breakfast option on family vacation. Yelp steered me in the right direction. Small, just seats along walls - mostly carry out. Important part-good, interesting takes on the simple breakfast sandwich. Burgers looked good although we didn't try them. Prices extremely reasonable. Cool place.

Great breakfast sandwhiches. The chorizo egg and cheese was very good. More than I would typically have for breakfast, but had to finish it anyway.

  • Tyler K.

  • Will C.

  • Cindy N.

    (4)

  • Ashley N.

  • Danielle K.

  • Michael E.

Thank you.

I LOVE this place!!!! The menu is huge and full of incredible options both for breakfast and lunch! Every item I have tried so far has been delicious!!! All the items are made to order but they have a great system down so I've never had to wait!! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!

Great. Great.

Went for the firs time today and got the Chicken Cesar Meatball sandwich and smashed fries. The sandwich had way too much char on it and the smashed fries were very floury tasting. I'll give it another try and hope it gets better.

Also tried the Onion Jam Burger. Tasty, but small.

They've only been open 3 months, eat there so we can keep coming back for awhile!

...the chorizo sandwich is maybe the most amazing thing I have ever had for breakfast. I'll probably be back for lunch today to try a burger. Be sure to plan on it taking a little extra time for your food, but believe me...good things come to those who wait.

I think I died and went to heaven after that breakfast sandwich. I'm a vegetarian and despite all their sandwiches having meat, I ordered just an egg and cheese and was so satisfied. Will definitely be back!

Cool place.

Freaking delicious!!! Incredible food, awesome staff. Not a lot of seating but the food is so great that people enjoy it & move on pretty quickly. This will be a regular stop for us from now on!!! Love it!

Great breakfast sandwhiches. The chorizo egg and cheese was very good. More than I would typically have for breakfast, but had to finish it anyway.

  • Paul H.

  • Gwen G.

Best breakfast sandwich in town. Traditional with bacon is divine. All cooked to order.
