I love this quaint little place! I love getting smoothies here sometimes before I go to work in the morning! Their muffins look so yummy and I see them pull them out of the oven sometimes and they smell amazing. I have to say for being so small the way it's set up is super cozy and welcoming. The staff are always nice (although at night it varies).. My only complaint is I tried to get a smoothie later in the day and they said they only made them in the morning.. So sad. Their menu is a big chalk board and it's really pretty. Outside before you walk in they always have a sign exclaiming what is special that day or something that's worth a try, maybe it's new? Their tea is delicious and I highly recommend this a place to try! My friends seem to love their food, and I can't wait to try a muffin!

It's a decent spot, but I often leave a little disappointed. Today we waited 30 minutes for 2 bagels toasted with cream cheese before we had to leave! Never even got the bagels! I understand that it's really the only coffee shop on the Hill but maybe they should invest in another toaster!

Service is prettysub par, they acted like I was crazy when I asked for a whole wheat everything bagel. The smoothies sound delicious but taste like ice They also left off the bacon on a breakfast sandwich which is arguably the most important part

Technically a 4.5, there are some imperfection... But since I want you to try harder to make yourself the bestest Coffee Shop in Boston, it's a 4 for now. A lot of great beautiful potential. Firstly, I can say that 87% of my drinks will be on point. Sometime I will make an earth-shattering... cup shattering? discovery that will truly make my day. Sometime I will be left with disappointment in a sad paper cup. Case in point: the rose milk tea, sound like a dream, taste like water. But something like the Chaider hit your taste-bud with a bulldozer and really scream at you to chase the Fall before it's all over. Banana Foster Late was another wonderful silky comforting blanket for the cold days ahead. English Breakfast Milk Tea - LONDON FOG, oh ya, make me want to visit London. I forgot the name: but the smoothies with the spinach and basil tasted so fresh and wonderful it makes you feel like Boston never left its summer days. The TOMATO SOUP is king of Tomato soup. Another one of my food obsession, how can I not order it every single time I am here. Tangy with a hint of spice dancing happily with the dip of the pretzel chips, this is true marriage. The sandwiches haven't really made me too poetic however. Got recommended that Bow Thai, but I wasn't too happy about it. The spice was all over the place, my tongue refuse to house it even when my stomach was crying for sustenance Alaskan Smoked Salmon Bagel was tasty but my everything bagel was a big difficult to bite down. It was a little bit of a struggle but man that caper on there was clever and delicious The Green T Spinach Bagel was nice and simple, a go to for a casual day. My most favorite thing have been absent for a while: the Apple Muffin. It had beautiful lovely apple bitties that both surprise and delight. Please come back. PLEASE I need you. No one can replace you!

I love this place! The smoothies are great, the food is delicious, the coffee is good, the chai tea latte is great too, I have yet to have a bad thing here. It's super cute inside, there isn't a lot of seating, but I've never not been able to find a place to sit. This is definitely a frequent stop on my morning and afternoon commute!

  • Liz O.

A really cute local coffee shop!! Not a lot of seating and basically no outlets to plug in. The coffee was great and the vibe is very comfortable to meet up with a friend or even get settled with work for a few hours. The food looked great, but their hours for the kitchen are limited so I couldn't order a sandwich. :( The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

If I were solely basing this review on coffee, this place would get three stars. But because I'm writing it based on coffee and burritos, a solid four-star review is in order. The coffee here is okay. Better than Dunkin or Starbucks alternatives, and it's the only coffee shop in the Mission Hill neighborhood. They have a lot of interesting drinks: iced s'mores lattes, for example. They taste good, but their plain coffee is just alright. They also offer a lunch menu, with sandwiches and wraps served with soup and chips. I've never had any of these, but they look pretty good. The best part about this place though, is the burritos they serve until 3:00am on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They offer both breakfast burritos (with a choice of bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, or veggie sausage), and a bow Thai, which is satay chicken with rice and some spices. SO GOOD. Definitely a staple for college kids who live on the Hill. We end every night here. The staff is friendly, especially the late night burrito guy. One time, when we were the only customers in the place, we chatted him up about the kind of stuff he sees working until 3:00am on the Hill. He said there isn't a body part he hasn't seen in this restaurant. So, come for the burritos, stay for the nudity.

Friendly staff. Great selection of coffee and tea. Their butterscotch cappuccino is on fleek! YAAAAS GAGA! Their breakfast burrito was too hipster for me, but I still really enjoyed it. The popey is spicy, be warned.

Been going here for years. But. Only when I have to. Every time I get a mocha it might as well be a chocolate milk. Very weak espresso drinks. I think last time I was there the guy forgot to even put the espresso in. Stronger drinks please

  • Yoye C.

I love this place! They have incredible muffins and amazing fruit smoothies. I recommend it for breakfast. Its small but you can always take it to go!

    (5)
  • Heather D.

They have good smoothies but their flavored coffees are pretty inconsistent. They run out of bagels pretty quick. I feel like they should get more or something. Their croissants are good. I haven't tried one of their sandwiches for lunch but they sound really good.

    (3)
  • Steven R.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's super small (even for Boston). There are only a few tables in the whole place and the line can take up most of the available space left. But the coffee is good and it's in a great spot. On a cold day when the train refuses to come on time it's a great place to drop by!

  • Jennifer G.

One star for the clever coffee shop name (it's located off the green line), and one star for the cute and homey decor inside. Zero stars for the service and the drinks themselves. So you would think that on an afternoon when it's not too busy, they wouldn't FORGET to make your drinks, right? Wrong. There was one other customer in the coffee shop who had already been settled for a while now. My friend and I ordered chai tea lattes with espresso, and 15 minutes later, we realized...where are our drinks? My friend has already written a review about this, but in a nutshell - she didn't even apologize that she simply forgot. She claimed to be cleaning when she was just on her cell phone. Honestly is appreciated, so of course I was a bit annoyed, but what could you do about it except patiently wait for your drink? My hopes were high that even though the service was terrible, the drink would be decent. I shouldn't have had such high hopes. The chai tasted gritty and just...strange. I took a few more sips to try to give it that extra chance, but my face cringed with every extra sip. She claimed it was some "in-house" chai, with certain spices that may not have dissolved, but that's the way that it should be. If that's the way it's supposed to be, it sure was unpleasant. The only reason I sat there longer was because it was snowing and frigidly cold outside.

Cute coffee shop in the hill. Seems like people are complaining about customer service, but I had friendly baristas this morning when I went. The iced coffee was perfect - not too bitter or burnt but not watery either. I can't speak for the espresso drinks though, I've never tried them. I think their breakfast sandwiches are really well priced... Places like ERC and comparable coffee shops in Allston are way more expensive for the same or worse quality. Today I got a bacon egg and cheese bagel and it really hit the spot. I also like the vibe here. Music is calm enough to stay in the background but today it's a chill reggae mix. The windows are open and you can just chill at street level. Good place to grab your coffee and go or just hang out for an hour or two.

  • Lisa Q.

This place has a really cool vibe! However, it's very tiny. I wouldn't recommend sitting down to eat. The coffee is great, many different flavor options. They have sandwiches, breakfast, and smoothies as well. The staff is very friendly and service was pretty quick. A tad over priced-a small flavored coffee or small smoothie is gonna cost you $5.

    (4)
  • Yeajin L.

Good variety of breakfast sandwiches. Their latte is surprising good, but their bagels are a little bit tough. But that's understandable because they are not a bagel place. The sitting is nice. Even if it is crowded, My friends and I seem to get a seat.

Green T is a quaint, locally owned coffee shop in Mission Hill. It is conveniently located near the Fenwood stop on the E line, and for those traveling via bus, you can reach it by taking the #39. It is also within walking distance of the Longwood Medical Area, making it a great place to come for for your morning or afternoon coffee fix if you work in one of the nearby hospitals. They prepare your standard coffee drinks: latte, cappuccino, & Americano (all of which are available hot or iced). In addition, Green T also offers made-to-order smoothies & sandwiches, as well as an assortment of tasty-looking baked goods. The service is friendly, & there's generally good music playing inside. Tidbits: -Green T is on the smaller side (there are only a few tables inside). -They offer an array of syrups--everything from marshmallow to pear--which you can add to your coffee beverage. -Pricing is comparable to Starbucks.

Their lattes and pastries are really good. I really like their banana and pumpkin bread. I always get that before I head to class; medium vanilla soy latte and two slices of pumpkin bread. My absolute favorite. If you like their muffins, you're better off going to Costco and buying it in bulk because their muffins are from Costco. Don't be fooled. Also, I would give this place four stars, but one of the baristas was just awful and had terrible customer service. I forgot what happened but it was bad enough for me to stay away from this coffee shop for a while. It was a girl. Her name is Charlotte I believe. AVOID HER. I'm usually patient with people, especially since I work in retail where I have to deal with a lot of customers so I understand how it's like. But she was just plain out rude and had no intentions of being nice either. You work at a place where customer service is key. Thanks to Charlotte's CRAPPY service, she just lost a regular customer.

Really nice vibe, chill spot, good tea and good coffee. The baristas really know their stuff.

Slow service in terms of food if you order anything other than what's in the case by the register. Music was rather annoying. Small venue which wasn't too bad except for the fact that the furniture is miniature as well. Decent sandwich, nothing special. Not worth what they charge.

I work in Brigham Circle and Green T is a super convenient place to grab coffee in the morning or a sandwich for lunch. The coffee is good and the iced teas and smoothies are different and refreshing. I also absolutely love the sandwiches (and bagel chips). I would normally give a place like this 4 or 5 stars but I am more inclined to give 2/3 for two reasons: 1. It always takes a while to get what I order, even if it is just a bagel. I often wait more than 15 minutes to get a sandwich. When I only have 45 minutes for lunch this can be a little frustrating. 2. The customer service is very hit or miss. I had one recent experience that left me offended, and I will not be returning. I gave my name with my sandwich order, but when it was ready the barista barked "Cell Phone Girl" at me to get my attention. I was checking my personal email on my phone and I did not appreciate being mistreated. Otherwise, if you are in the Mission Hill area and you want a delicious coffee and bagel, try Green T. But be warned, the service is terrible.

I've always waited for the bus/T right outside, but never found the time to go in and try it out. They've always posted drinks specials that look really delicious aren't price too terribly. I finally went in the other day with a friend and we both ordered a chat latte espresso. We then sat down and chatted while waiting for our drinks. It wasn't until 15 minutes later that we realized we still hadn't received our drinks; the batista/cashier was standing at the register on her phone. I approached her to ask about our drinks and she apologized, saying that she was in cleaning mode and completely forgot. There was only 1 other customer in the shop so it's not like she was swamped to forget. But sure, that's fine. We finally received our drinks and we're excited as we took in the sweet aroma of chai and espresso. That abruptly changed when we both took a sip and had the grittiest taste in our mouths. It basically felt and tasted as if a tea bag had exploded and the bits of mashed tea leaves and spices were floating in our drink. My friend approached the barista and inquired about it, of which she responded that it was just their house chai blend. So in defeat, we sat there and continued chatting without finishing our gritty chai lattes. Just overall bad experience in service and product, shame.

I've been dying to come here for a long time, but I was so disappointed when I finally visited the shop today. When I walked in one of the baristas saw me and walked over, with an extremely bored expression and didn't even speak to me. I smiled and said hello, but she didn't respond. Our interaction sucked, but I ordered an overpriced iced chai tea latte, which in the end was spilling all over my hands and literally just tasted like cold milk. I'm going to try coming again later and hopefully I get the barista my friends say is friendly and can actually make drinks

I haven't had much other than their Chai lattes here but I love them! Once you get to the bottom there is some gritty spicy stuff that's not so pleasant. But I love the flavor, it's not so spicy like most chais which is probably why I like it so much, I'm not such a big fan of Starbucks chai. The food I've had is good, their danishes are HUGE and delicious, but they didn't have any last time I went so I'm not sure how often they're available. I must say the one bagel I had (everything bagel) was very dense/chewy and hard to bite into when made as a sandwich, tiring on the teeth. It can get pretty crowded, but it's convenient when I'm on my way to the T and I don't know of any other coffee shops nearby.

I would love to write an update on Green T Coffee Shop! My colleague and I have a new ritual called "let's get coffee every morning before work." In the summertime, we went to Dunkin' Donuts as it is closer and cheaper. However, now that it's latte time, we are skipping our way down Huntington Ave to GTC. Guys, this place really grew on me. My first experience was a very weak latte, it's true. However, there's this one guy who makes a PERFECT latte... usually wears some sort of black track pants and/or hat with facial hair. They have the perfect amount of kick, foam, and temperature. The pastry case always intrigues me and I cannot say no. The croissants are to die for along with the cheese danishes. I really want to try lunch here sometime. Give this place a shot; you will be glad you did!

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Since I moved to Mission Hill I've bemoaned the lack of an independent coffee shop. Sure, I could go to Starbucks over in the Longwood area, but it's crowded and noisy. It's like someone heard my prayers and answered them with the Green T. It's cozy, with awesome coffee and great food too. They even have nice little touches like clementines that you can buy individually. The smoothies are tasty, and the cheddar scallion scone - from a local bakery - is totally crave-worthy. Others have mentioned the space being small, but I haven't had trouble finding seating when I've been there, especially if the "express window" isn't open. They also have free wifi and don't seem to mind if you bring along your homework and camp out for a bit. I forsee this being a place I'll return to again and again.

  • Boris L.

Great coffee and tea and it's right next to the Fenwood stop on the E branch of the Green Line. The food is pretty overpriced and they always seem understaffed. It should not take 10 minutes to make a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant. They also serve breakfast burritos until 3am on weekends which are awesome. However, their late night hours are incredibly inconsistent, so much to the point that I have stopped even trying to go there late at night. It's a real pain when you go out of your way to get here at 2:30 in the morning only to find out they aren't doing the late night burritos this weekend. Either do it or don't do it. Putting a little sign out on the street that says "We're back this weekend!" is not an effective way to do it because that sign only reaches the people walking past the sign. I would recommend people to come here for the late night, but I can't tell you for sure if it will be open or not. So you might end up in the middle of Mission Hill at 2:30, hungry, angry, and with no T to get back on.

I am a big fan of Green T Coffee Shop! They now have an "express window" like a drive through. Coffee is great but strong. Service is spectacular but often times slower than you'd expect. Everyone is friendly and the shop is clean and has a "homey" feeling to it. All their breakfast sandwiches (and I assume lunch) are made to order. Expect to wait 10 minutes for one. Luckily it's a warm atmosphere so if you want to talk to someone, I'm sure there is someone sitting there to talk to. If you want to read or go through your phone it's nice for that as well. When your breakfast sandwich is up you won't be upset you ordered it. I'm not much more than a hot or sometimes iced coffee guy. I don't know how good their espressos or lattes are so I can't give you a full report on them. I hope another yelper can. It seems like they are building a pretty good report of "regulars." I'm splitting my time between them and JP Licks for my caffeine fix and they don't have a rewards card if that says anything. Try it out!

Support local business. Great selection of teas. The guy makes the banana bread himself and I must say yum. Delicious warm/hot apple cider too. Kitchen opens at 10pm-3am on Thursdays-Saturdays. Hope they keep this up.

A much needed space filled in the Mission Hill area. I am so glad something filled the space of what used to be the Barber shop, the shop was nice but the guys that hung around outside...creepy old guys who hit on anything 11yrs+. The staff here is pretty friendly, never had a rude experience, and they seem pretty accommodating to my random request of extra syrup here and there. Anyways, the food here, its decent. soup and a sandwich deal is my favorite, the bread was a little hard but that's what the soup is for. Their coffee is pretty good and i love that they try and keep local products stocked. I go here pretty regularly and im grateful for a new venue as the area gets cleaned up. Summertime is in swing and their opening up an express window and adding smoothies to the menu, there's always something new, and now all i ask for is a frequent buyer card.

Ordered: Iced Hazelnut Latte & Raspberry Danish Quaint coffee shop that supports local businesses and artist as well as the community. Atmosphere was nice, the baked goods were phenomenal and the coffee was not bad. I would recommend as a new place to try. Hoping to return to try some of their creative flavors such as the frosted mint mocha or toffee crunch mocha and their sandwiches.

I stopped here one morning before an appointment at BWH. It was after the medical area rush, so the place wasn't too busy. What caught by eye, was the 'walk-thru window.' Such a great idea for a small business! I went in anyway so I could check out the menu. When I saw coffee and banana bread for $3, I was sold :-) Both were really good and I'll be back for more.

This place is absolutely adorable. I love the retro look - it reminds me a lot of cute coffee shops in Vermont. They have a lot of creative breakfast foods, such as the cucumber and egg sandwich, which is delicious. I will say, however, the service is pretty slow. Anytime I get food, I always allow myself at least 10-15 minutes, knowing it will take that long. That being said, this shop is still VERY new, and this should get better with time. The esthetics, menu, and friendly wait staff make up for it in my eyes.

Delicious coffee! It stands on its own taken black, but they have flavors you can add to it if you're a starbucks junkie. Huge selection of quality teas. Great breakfast meals! Cozy atmosphere. The only down side is that it is so small and there aren't always seats available. I usually get my coffee to go, though. I'd love to sit there and read a book or people watch, but aint nobody got time for that!

I stopped in on a weekday morning for my pre-work coffee. I asked for an iced coffee and the girl gave me a cup of hot coffee with ice in it. Of course, upon walking 50 feet down the street I was left with luke warm coffee with a thick layer of water on top. If you don't have actual iced coffee, then don't serve it. Next time, I'm drinking dunks.

This place is lovely, cozy, clean and full of great food. You can find your typical tea and coffee options, including some yummy flavored lattes (white chocolate, toffee crunch, raspberry mocha). In addition to fresh baked pastries, muffins and Iggy's bagels, they sell a range of healthy snacks (granola, trail mix, protein bars, clementines) and a nice array of Lake Champlain chocolates. They serve hot breakfasts and sandwiches for lunch. Overall, Green T is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood and a place I plan to frequent from now on.

Stopped in at this new coffee shop on my way to work this morning. Had a small chai latte and an almond croissant. The chai was delicious - it's on the sweet side rather than the spicy. I'm not sure of the brand. They had tins of Harrisons & Crosfield tea for sale, so it could be that. The croissant was maybe slightly over-baked, but a couple of seconds in the microwave at work softened it up. It was tasty with lots of almond slivers on top of some almond filling. There was a small assortment of baked goods - bagels, croissants, muffins, brownies, and blondies. There are also breakfast sandwiches available. Other items I saw were containers of carrot chips and mixes of dried fruits and nuts. The staff was friendly. You can tell they're still getting used to everything, but I think this was only the 2nd day they've been open. There is seating - about 3-4 tables. It's cozy with dark woods and a faux wood stove in the corner. Jazz music was playing in the background and I believe there is free wi-fi. I will definitely be going back to this place.

I stopped in this morning to check out the place. Super cozy and the view from inside is pretty cool. Only grabbed a latté cuz i was running late. Can't wait to check out the rest of the menu that they said they are going to have once they get up and running. Super friendly staff and soooo convenient to have right at the T stop. So happy that this isn't an abandoned barbershop anymore! It helps liven up this block. :)

I've already been here three times since it opened last week. Yep, I know, that means I'm in there practically every other day. It's super-convenient for me (I live right around the corner), so when I walk to school in the morning (or when I don't feel like making myself breakfast... or lunch), it's nice to run in and grab a quick snack. Everything I've tried so far has been awesome. I don't know where they get their bagels, but the everything bagel with cream cheese and fresh chives is THE BOMB. I've also tried the cream cheese-eggs-cucumber bagel special they have going. It was surprisingly delicious. Never would have thought to put eggs or cucumbers on a bagel, but hey, that's why I don't own my own coffee/bagel place. Actually, I'm noshing on another everything bagel while I write this review - this time with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Nom nom nom. I can't say much to the coffee, because I've trying to wean myself off the java, so I usually get green tea or juice or something else. Green T also has something called Creative Snacks. It's all different mixes of nuts and dried fruits sold in little plastic tubs with silly names. I like silly names, so I bought a little tub full of dried cranberries, yogurt- and chocolate-covered raisins and almonds. Yummy. They're still working through some kinks in their system and training the staff, but everyone's really nice. It's a really cozy little place, and a great addition to the Brigham Circle area.

This review is for iced coffee and a sandwich. Both are great. This is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood as it has been forever since there has been a good coffee shop in this area. JP Licks offers pretty good coffee but their other food items are not very attractive (love their icecream though). Butterfly had potential but really hasn't invested enough into the product or space to be successful (ceiling still hanging open for multiple years now? often out of ingredients and not good coffee product). I can't vouch for their espresso drinks but their iced coffee is solid: strong enough, good flavor, and not too acidic. Wonderful spinach breakfast sandwich! Ingredients seem fresh, QUALITY, and reasonably priced. Good bagels and the cheese doesn't seem like the low-end restaurant crap (I've only tried the swiss though). I can't stand when cafe's use the cheap oily cheddar! Although I haven't tried them yet, their other sandwiches options look interesting and enticing. Also - great service. The person behind the counter (owner maybe?) noticed that I'd taken most of the ice out of my iced coffee (I don't like it to get watered down), was concerned and then offered to top it off with more. Nice!

This place is very cute, trendy, and great service. the only downside is that is takes forever to get a breakfast sandwich. But the drinks are a lot cheaper than Starbucks and while still be delicious! I recommend the iced gunpowder green tea with lemon and honey. I love the mint leaves they put in there.

I walk by Brigham Circle extremely often, and noticed that this cute little coffee shop finally opened up last week. I got the chance to walk in yesterday for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-decorated the place was. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, which was very reasonably priced at $5. There are only 3 small tables, which were all occupied, so I wasn't able to sit down and eat as I had planned, but I settled for taking my bag to go. The grilled cheese was excellent, plenty of gooey cheese (Monterey?) with a fresh slice of tomato on herb focaccia. The tomato soup was creamy, and they gave you plenty of it. My boyfriend had a sticky bun and coffee, both of which were delicious. On my way out I noticed that they sold day-old pastries for about $1, which is definitely a turn-on for a college student such as myself. I'm sure that a few seconds in the microwave would make it taste like new. I plan on returning for lunch today to try the bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Pros: price, quality, service, cleanliness, general coffee shop atmosphere (there's even a little fireplace!) Cons: I understand that there isn't much space to spare, but more tables would be nice. Out of the 3 or 4 tables available, 2 of them were occupied by students studying. I'm sure it's a great place to study, but it just irked me since I knew they wouldn't be leaving anytime soon and I had wanted to eat my soup and sandwich. Maybe they could build bar-type seating against the nice long window to allow for more seating?

I had to write this review as soon as I got to work, because this place absolutely made my day. I have been putting off going in there for months now since its not on my usual route to the orange line (I would walk anywhere to avoid the green line itself). The staff that were there this morning (3 young guys) were super friendly and helpful. The main one behind the cash reg (wish I had your name) was especially helpful and nice. He was very patient with me while I decided what I wanted. I ordered the first egg sandwich on their board & they made it on an English muffin for me and it was SPECTACULAR. Fresh spinach, tomato, cheese and basil, it was so so good. I have gotten so sick of the fake stuff at Starbucks & Dunkin. This actually tasted, looked and smelled like real food. Also, he gave me a piece of fresh banana bread while I waited for my sandwich and it was to die for! The iced coffee (which you can get in every flavor under the sun) also hit the spot this morning. I would encourage everyone on and around the Hill to give this place a try. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Working in the LMA for four years, I'm always interested in something new- especially when it involves good coffee. The Green T Coffee Shop is a great find- it is SUPER convenient, has a fabulous ambience, quick service, and the staff are incredibly nice. Don't even get me started on the pastries! The four times I've been in, they have had some sort of a pastry (or two) to sample. Now, the reason I went in there originally- for the coffee and tea. They have a great selection and everything has been made exactly as I've ordered it. I loved the hot chai. The only thing missing is a good breakfast sandwich, which I was informed this morning that they are close to bringing to the table (to include egg whites). In the mean time, they've had some pretty awesome lunch sandwiches and soup choices- all very fresh and creative. Overall, the Green T Coffee Shop has been a very welcomed (and overdue) addition to the LMA- and a nice change from the bland, sub-par DD that seem to be on every corner. I can't wait to try the breakfast sandwiches!

The place was so hot and I had to wait 20 minutes for a grill cheese and I was the only customer. The staff was so disorganized, they really needed a manager to organize them and to properly take an order.

Mission Hill needed a little coffee place like this - and bonus that it's on my way to work! Everything I've had has been great, the staff are very friendly, and it still seems to be improving every day. The atmosphere is very cozy, a great place to sit with a coffee and people watch.

I was extremely pleased with it, being a cafe worker myself, with high cafe standards. I was pleasantly surprised with the organic choices of snacks and the fact that they sold local honey and other products was very encouraging. I had a nice conversation with the young girl at the register about coffee, who also prepared my espresso drink. I was delighted by her friendliness. The cleanliness in addition to the home-made feeling (the fake fireplace is a riot) of the cafe was enough for me to finally be satisfied with living in this personality-corrupt landscape of college students and urban vultures. Green T cafe is a sight for sore eyes.

Green T is amazing! They pay great attention to detail and are so supportive of the community. The food is good but the coffee is GREAT! It is a small space with only a few tables and you have to walk through the bar to get to the bathroom... but it all makes for an intimate experience. When a friend and I stopped by this morning the staff was in talks with a musician about selling his CDs and playing his music there. Additionally, it's very convenient for those who work around Brigham Circle coming from the 66, 39, or E line as it is located right at the Fenwood Rd stop!

A wonderful coffee shop in the Mission Hill area! This place is great! I live right upstairs, and there could be nothing better than waking up in the morning and grabbing a quick coffee and breakfast before I go to work. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable, and it makes such a difference when the owners (one of them is named Matt, not sure about the other person's name but they are awesome) care so much about the place, you can taste the love in every product. They just installed a flat top grill to make breakfast sandwiches and they are delicious! Perfectly made with slightly spicy cheddar-jack cheese. This is definitely a one of a kind place that is a great addition to the Mission Hill area. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quick and delicious coffee and meal.

I love this little place. I pop in often for their little containers of oatmeal (out of this world - very much like a trail mix oatmeal combo in a cup) -- perfect way to start the day. And on my way home tonight I stopped in and met Matt who was very friendly and nice and took time to chat (unusual in this day and age.) You will love Green T. Stop in and step into a little spot that feels to me like a little Cambridge coffee place plopped down in Mission Hill.

Today, I ordered a cup of regular coffee, which was lukewarm. When I asked the server if she could serve me a fresh cup, she got a bit surly and said that was the last batch of coffee they had brewed for the day. I find that hard to believe, given it was only 2pm. The server did ask me if I wanted to place it in the microwave to heat it up. I don't know where they do that, but I prefer my coffee to be hot, fresh, and not reheated in a microwave. I have been a regular here since Green T opened and was pretty upset with my experience there today. The coffee is usually hit or miss, and the service often leaves much to be desired of. What's more, the wait time for a bagel or breakfast sandwich can be semi ridiculous. Green T has potential, but it could be much improved upon if they elevated their coffee game and trimmed down the wait times for sandwiches etc, etc. If things don't improve with the quality-control and wait times, it's probably a safer bet to go to JP Licks. They don't offer much in the way of sandwiches, but at least they're much more consistent on the coffee front.

The coffee is pretty good, very smooth and not bitter, and they carry Harney & Sons which I prefer a thousand times over than MEM tea which you usually see in cafes of the same caliber. The cafe has a few outlets for your devices, and for a very small cafe I've always been able to get a seat. Their baristas are very chatty if you like that sort of thing. I think they like being a "neighborhood place" with lots of regulars. However, Green T is always out of something every time I come. Either their kitchen is closed early and I can't get a bagel, or they're out of iced tea, or they're not serving another menu item. Most of the time when I enter, there isn't anyone at the counter to take my order, and I'll have to wait for a barista to feel like coming out to check for customers in order to be served.. They always seem to be very understaffed. Green T isn't the best study spot. It doesn't appear to have air conditioning, and you're subject to a lot of traffic noise because they take out the windows in the summer. I've had the inconvenience of having lots of strange butts in my face when people sit in the windows when I'm trying to write papers. Perhaps in the winter Green T would make a better study nook? I do think this place has a lot of potential, but for now I'm not too sold on the place. If you're getting a coffee and a snack to go, like chatting up the baristas and don't mind waiting this is the place for you. If you're looking for a study spot and fast service, it may be not Green T.

I go here pretty consistently. The coffee is the best you can get and I prefer it over dunkin anyday-lots of flavors and sometimes even cheaper then dunkin! The coffee gets 5 stars but, I had to give it3 for 2 reasons. 1. The sandwhiches are yes, very delicious however it has happened to me nearly three times-and just today where I have asked for ciabatta when the barista asked what kind of bread I wanted but came home only to find it was on 7 grain. Luckily I like 7 grain but the motz melt just tastes better on ciabatta. 2. Would be a great place to come and work on your laptop but there is only one outlet if you need to charge your computer while your working so not to convinient in that sense. but still, if you are in the area and love a solid cup of coffee this is where to go.

It's good. They sell coffee and pastries and make smoothies, sandwiches, burritos and other nice things. They do mbta things which is pretty cool. Music choice is typically good too. Good location, it makes the sidewalk smell like pastries and mostly banana bread. Prices are kinda what you'd expect for a local coffee shop that supports the arts and etc. Some of their chairs/tables are kind of wobbly, and if you're tall don't even bother trying to sit on the chairs next to the little fireplace thing, they are wayy too short to sit on comfortably. This place is good to go to so go to this good place.

Great little place. Seating for about 10 or so, but a fun place. During fall, check out their Chunkin (Chai/Pumpkin) drink. WOW. I could drink it all year. They have a great option for veggetarians, and fun breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Fun place, fun atmosphere. I'm giving it 4 stars, because on several occasions, my order is either not called out, skipped or made incorrectly. Otherwise, a great place.

Love the atmosphere, space is a bit small when it gets really busy, but I was able to tuck myself back in the corner to do work. They have a fantastic cafe menu - breakfast sandwiches and wraps, smoothies, of course the normal coffee/latte things. The baristas have been very pleasant and helpful so far. I am looking forward to trying more things on the menu!

Green T is convenient and the vibes are of the good variety, but the food earns only a "meh" from the tastebud judges. I'd go back, but not for the food (and the vibes must be pretty damn good for me to make such a bold claim.) Conceptually, the breakfast options sound riveting, but the reality is less so. The bagels and Iggy's breads I've tried have been somewhat dry, the eggs are averagely prepared, there's nothing magically savory about the cheese... it's all just okay. The lattes are slightly bitter and not particularly nutty, placing them somewhere between "okay" and "why not?" but the one thing I've tried that transcends the bounds of mediocrity is the muffins. The muffins f*cking rock. Next time I find myself inside Green T, a muffin will find itself inside me. *gives bakery counter predatory stare*

This place is very small. It uses to be a barber shop for years before they closed. I have to say though, it really makes me happy to see this here. It is too bad there isn't much sitting space. Nonetheless, it is very charming and not crazy over price. The couple of Ladie working jn there must be college kids because they are young but they are super friendly and helpful. The place is vey earthy looking and clean which is a plus for me. Why go to dunkin's or Starbucks when you got his?

I was initially turned off by the shmoozey behavior of the barista at the Green T, thinking she was just trying to hook up with the chatty young man in front of me. But, when my turn came around, she was just as engaging and charming, giving me a little deal on a double cappuccino with impeccable foam, and explaining her incredible capacity as a super-taster. The seating area is tiny. The small stove in the corner made the place cozy and warm, but further detracted from the limited seating. Menu includes tons of beverages, unique smoothies, fancy pants teas, and the like. A few sandwiches and snacks are also available.

Yummiest coffee in the longwood medical area. Not only are the baristas super nice, they know how to do a latte right! Don't get me started on the sandwiches...they are too delicious to describe without making my mouth water. Best choice for lunch if you're in the area. The only drawback is how small the place is.

Best latte ever... I try to stop here at least twice a week becuase this place makes me so so so happy! The consistency here is crazy, every latte ive ever had here has been perfect! Oddly I found the service to be awesome the same day someone else thought it was abysmal. I'd had a crappy experience at a Brookline spot earlier and while I only ordered an iced coffee, the two people working there were so friendly, it made up for the other place. The coffee was really good and they were super nice. On the other hand, they had zero in the pastry case (have had a delicious vanilla muffin before) and I haven't tried the sandwiches, but it's a nice little spot to have around.

We came here because it's close to the MFA and we really liked the logo... The place is small -- 6 small tables, and people set up shop with homework and computers so be prepared to wait for a place to sit. Service was very friendly. No complaints there. We both got bagel sandwiches: the California, add tomatoes, and the Western, add sausage. The kitchen forgot both the additions but of course were happy to remedy when we brought this to their attention. Sandwiches were just ok. Not great, not terrible either. Brewed coffee was good. My latte was stronger than I'd like, but that's a matter of preference. And cheaper than what I'm used to paying in the People's Republic of Cambridge.

Awesome and friendly service, excellent espresso drinks (iced maple latte is the way to go!), standard prices, takes LevelUp. I've only been off peak hours and haven't gotten food, so can't comment on either, but I wouldn't hesitate to return for a tasty mid-day brew.

Good coffee, breakfast sandwiches are sooo good. The spinach egg sandwish is awesome. The Roxbury smoothie is pretty great too. It has a nice vibe to the place too and the soultrain music makes it even harder for me to get up from my table and get my booty to work.

Randomly stopped in here while visiting someone at B&W hospital. Worth the walk down the street! Great little nook for breakfast. I had the large breakfast sandwich on whole wheat and with ham and cheddar. Very good! Warm atmosphere with electric heated fireplace and nice people watching out the window. Staff very friendly as well. I'll definitely come back. Check it out!

This is a tiny place, but so cute and cozy! It wasn't too crowded on a Sunday afternoon like Pavement or any other pretentious coffee spot. If I were a student in the area, I would definitely come to Green T often. - The service is friendly and helpful. - All of the baked goods looked fresh (sadly, I didn't try any). - The iced coffee wasn't a cup of ice with a splash of coffee like some places, and it tasted perfect. I will be back to try their lattes.

Their to go items like granola bars and such are very overpriced- so are their lattes. They're close to Starbucks prices and quite frankly I think I'd rather have a Starbucks latte. Their customer service is unpredictable- in the afternoon they tend to be less polite. I also agree that their seating is very uncomfortable- no cushioning. Their muffins and banana bread are pretty good. Very convenient location.

Organic, Fair Trade coffee and lots of iced and hot teas. Location is great since there doesn't seem to be another coffee shop near by. It's small and busy in the morning, and the bathroom is behind the counter, which makes it a little awkward. Variety of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, wraps, as well as lunch sandwiches.

I prefer to spend my money in local coffee shops when I can, and this is one of the best options around. The staff is friendly, and the banana bread is delicious. Minus one star because they close inconveniently early half of the week.

I wanted to love this place, but I left going "meh." I've passed here a million times walking the pooch, and I was so excited to finally try it (and use LevelUp). I had an irish cream soy latte (delicious!) and got two bagel sandwiches. It's thrilling that they use gluten-free syrup in their coffees, and the result is the perfect sweetness, not the sticky over-sweetened versions you might find elsewhere. Sadly, the sandwiches were not memorable. We had the basic on everything and the western on wheat. Something about it was...off. Everything tasted bland and ran together. I do plan to give them a second chance, but I strongly recommend more spices and flavoring in the sandwiches! The bagels were especially plain, which is strange as they are the standard Iggy's. Here's hoping the future looks better!

I wouldn't recommend this place. The coffee is pretty good but they have a way of upsetting guests. I and my husband went there every morning for 6 months or so. They give free coupon for every 10 coffee you buy. Whenever we try to use the free coupon for the more expensive coffee between the two (I believe it was 80 cents more expensive), the owner/manager shouts at the cashier to stop and give the cheaper one for free instead. Then he adds "Business is a business". Actually, I don't care about paying 80 cents more. It's just his attitude - getting a free coffee should make you feel happy but rather it feels shit whenever I get the free coffee in this place. What's the whole point of giving off a free coupon if it upsets guests?? He says that business is a business but he doesn't really get it.

Reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that I don't like the smoothies the way they are. I have tried different fruit based smoothies here. Today out of curiosity I asked if they can make my smoothie dairy free as I wanted to skip the yoghurt and taste it. I really really want to like this place as it is very accessible to me. Dairy free.... and voila.... whatever they did to it .. it was awesome. They asked me if I would like to add anything else to smoothie I said add any fruit instead of yoghurt. Whatever they added.. the smoothie was very very good.

While they make really good breakfast sandwiches, the employees are now absolutely f*cking abysmal. I went today and this is my experience. It was busy so there was a line. It was moving slow which was fine but when I got to the register the cashier CARRIED ON A CONVERSATION WITH THE CUSTOMER WHO HAD JUST FINISHED PAYING BEFORE ME. I get it, they're friends. Big woo. But it makes 0 sense to have me waiting for you to finish your conversation that is not related in anyway to anything in the coffee shop. He could call her later as opposed to stalling an already relatively slow line. Secondly, when I got my sandwich I looked for napkins as I usually do just to have the rude @ss guy who gave me the sandwich, say with attitude, "THERE AREN'T ANY!" - Not, "Sorry we're out of napkins" but "THERE AREN'T ANY" with a f*cking attitude. And sorry to say, I feel as if I were a white woman with blonde hair his response would've been nicer and without the damn attitude. So, in sum, I am never going back. Dunkin' Donuts is a short walk away and they are welcome to my money. I don't care about supporting local rude businesses. Definitely letting all of my friends from school in the area to avoid this place. And all of my fellow black law students in the area. In 2013, respect isn't too much to ask for. Especially when I'm paying for something. Maybe I'll recommend it to cockroaches, but anything else would be too complimentary.

I've been here about 10 times this year and it's usually because I'm craving a breakfast bagel and iced soy latte! The best thing about the Big Breakfast Sandwich is that they'll also make it with veggie sausage patties which is very nice since I don't eat real meat. That lovely veggie sausage mixed with two fresh eggs and melted Vermont cheese and I really am in taste bud heaven. For some reason the lattes here keep me lively for hours afterward (which I'm very pleased about) - must be really strong espresso since I am pretty much immune to caffeine at this point in my life.

I want to give Green T a better rating, but I just didn't enjoy my visit. Then again I was at a coffee shop even though I'm not a coffee drinker... I went with two friends for breakfast and got one of the breakfast sandwiches (there aren't many to choose from). The line was long, and after I finally ordered it felt like it took them forever to make my sandwich (which was made in some room out back- sketchy). We found a small table and ate in the restaurant, but the million people standing in line combined with the fact that it's a small basement store made me feel rushed and claustrophobic. The sandwich was good, but pricey for what it was. I just don't feel a need to return.
