I hate to vote chain over the plethora of local burrito joints, but Qdoba is clearly the winner in my book. The Chicken Queso Burrito is huge, tasty, and fresh. Some other local places don't even have a queso option - how can you make nachos without queso?! Quick service, convenient location, and great food!

While I was in college I ate here all the time... Not because it was good, but because it was right across the street from where I lived. The burritos are just OK, but it's a ton of food. The chicken or steak queso burrito seems to be most peoples favorite.

Qdoba's your standard Mexican Burrito joint, with this particular establishment being located on Northeastern University's campus. Based on taste, the food is pretty good, as their ingredients taste fresh and are prepared to order. However, usually by the end of your meal, your burrito/quesadilla gets very sloppy, as the juices from the meat and sauces seep through the thin, steamed tortillas used in all of Qdoba's dishes. I'll still visit based on the taste and how close it is to my apartment, but in my opinion, Qdoba is just "okay."

  • Rachel S.

Yea, Qdoba is good. The location is excellent as a NEU student and I have used their bathroom as a non-patron in the past (though I can't remember why I didn't just go to the Marino Center). I *know* I live in a city where you can get burritos from places that aren't run by evil chain corporations. I *know* this food isn't authentic. I *know* there's a lot of annoying students in here. Don't care. I love me a naked chicken burrito or Mexican gumbo and I don't think anyone needs to go out of their way if they're looking to wet their whistle. Qdoba is A-OK, if not a little better when I'm jonesin'

To those who give this place bad ratings because its not "authentic": Well duh of course not, but it shouldn't get bad reviews for that. Yeah its not authentic, but they are still flavorful burritos. In terms of this location, really depends whos making the burrito. Most of the time its fine, but every once in a while theres someone whos either new or stubborn and either does not listen to what you want or destroys the burrito in the wrapping process. Other than that, good place to get a burrito around NEU, rather tasty if you get the right thing.

Mexican American fast food It seems that there is something wrong at this place... The Soda machine was malfunctioning and needed to reboot, several times and then got into a funk with it's peripherals. It might Have been a fluke, but it resulted in waiting 10 minutes for something to drink and then begging for something from the refrigerator. I watched a young man struggle with the machine for another 10 minutes, opening it up, calling on the cell phone and struggling. The food was OK, ingredients OK, but something not right about preparation; everything was too watery and fell apart. Then there were the bathrooms... I did not go, but heard the most outrageous things... It was not recently cleaned, someone left TP on a toilet seat, someone else left a used tampon - unwrapped in anyway and on top of the overfull trash... and the floors were sticky. I get that this is a city restaurant and there are lots of questionable folks about... but management needs to deal with things like this in a timely manner.

So I went to Qdoba because we already had Boloco that day (rough day) and decided to go across the street. The prices are a bit high for some items, like the nachos which you should never get unless someone is forcing you to. The burritos are bigger than Boloco though, so its a touch call. In some people's opinion, these restaurants are the same. False. There's a reason that Boloco is usually packed and Qdoba looks empty most of the time.

Huge burritos. It was really nice and satisfying after swim practice to eat one...or as much of one as I could possibly eat. I was actually pretty surprised by this- I wasn't expecting much at all. I like that they have a choice of wheat tortillas and brown rice, as well as a variety of meat and salsa. I didn't like the inability to choose the size of the burrito (it's like Chipotle in that manner), and the price was not okay. I used my dining dollars from Northeastern, but still. I paid $9.18 for a steak burrito with guac. In California, you could get that for $5 and definitely under $7. Apart from that, the taste wasn't bad. Not the best burrito I've ever had, but pretty good. I've also gotten their burrito bowls - also pretty good. Honestly, now that they have free guac it's basically like Chipotle (and probably cheaper).

People need to realize that this is a Mexican fast food chain, not an authentic restaurant run by an old Mexican lady who doesn't speak English and just cooks all day at the restaurant like she cooks for her grandchildren. Obviously it's not authentic or of the highest quality, but sometimes you just have those cravings for some quick, mediocre Mexican food, and this is what places like Qdoba are good for. What something better? Take a 10 minute walk to El Pelon. Though I do want to note (and this is also why I'm giving only a 2-star "Meh. I've experienced better" rather than a 3-star "A-OK"): I do not think their guac is made with real avocados. How I know this? I'm mildly allergic to avocados, but do not get a reaction when I eat Qdoba's guacamole. Guacamole is made with avocados. Anything else might be called something along the lines of "guacamole style dip", but not guacamole. I just feel like stuff like this isn't okay, fast food chain or family run business.

First of all the food is OK, and I have been here for several times a week. But today, when I was ordering for my favorite mexican gumbo, there only two of us in the line, the attendant just rush for choosing the toppings for me, even "busier" than lunch time. she even didn't pay attention to what I have chosen and just throw the bowl to cashier. I have to let the cashier to help add my toppings.

I do enjoy the food here WHEN the staff will actually meet my requests. I hate cilantro and always ask if they can make me a burrito with plain rice, which never involves anything more than grabbing a scoop from in back. Occasionally they'll be willing, but most of the time I get an attitude-filled "uhhh, no?" I am always incredibly polite and yet I'm treated as a huge inconvenience. I understand not being able to get me some plain rice during rush time, but when I'm the only person in line? I wish I wanted to eat here more often but the attitude from the staff makes me hesitant.

The food is delicious, but one lady works over there and she is quite rude. Qdoba should definitely consider terminating her job. She was there working at Monday 21st April 10 pm and I went there and she was very very rude.

Let's face it, everyone goes to a national "quick service" restaurant every now and again. Sometimes you just want decent food without a big investment of time or money. Such was the case today when me, my wife and son were at the MFA in Boston. I didn't want to wait 30 minutes and spend $16 for a burger or chicken sandwich at the new restaurant in the swanky new Art of the Americas wing. So what were our options? The answer was the Qdoba two blocks away on the campus of Northeastern University. I had the Ancho Chile BBQ Burrito w /pork ($7.09) and my wife had the Mexican Gumbo (on special for $5.99 w/ a soft drink). Both are on the Signature Flavors menu. My son had the shredded beef burrito ($6.59). We all were satisfied with our selections. I enjoyed my burrito, though the BBQ sauce was nothing like the mole that "inspired it," and next time I'd get the Habanero sauce instead of the salsa verde to make it spicier. The beef in my son's burrito was tender, and the all of our dishes had healthy portions of meat! The three of us had a wholesome meal for $20.61. Can't beat that. However, I was disappointed that many of the tables hadn't been cleaned, 3 of 5 napkin dispensers were empty, there was trash on the floor in places, and the waste basket in the men's room was overflowing. That will cost them 1 star. If you think this reviews is "useful," "cool" or "funny," please click the corresponding button below. Thanks.

I have a confession. I wish I could re-do college as a business major just so that I could create some sort of business/marketing plan for why Qdoba should produce smaller burritos. But I can order a naked burrito you say. No, I want a tortilla! I just want these delicious burritos to be a little bit smaller! I love Qdoba's burritos with all my heart, but the fact that I feel physically sick after eating one forces me not to buy them anymore (and no, I don't have enough self control to just eat half). If anyone with an MBA/whoever created Boloco's mini burritos wants to steal this idea, be my guest! Anyway, I've had to resort to ordering some new items at Qdoba and I've become obsessed with the tacos (ALMOST like mini burritos...but not quite), tortilla soup, and the kids meals! The new "choose two" menu is pretty cool and a nice way to try some different items. I also love the fact that there is unlimited Cholula hot sauce. I can down that stuff like it's water! As a Northeastern student and resident of the surrounding area, Qdoba has become a staple in curing my weekend hangover. And I wouldn't have it any other way (except with a smaller burrito of course). :)

I don't know why people are getting so bent out of shape; Qdoba is a fast-casual, Tex-Mex restaurant. My point- it's not that serious. Also, why bother posting a 1 star review and then not bother "getting into specifics"? What does that say about the substance of your review? The food here is great and the staff for the most part are kind and genuinely care about your meal. I can support that claim because just today, the man serving the guacamole recognized me and gave me extra! As for the owner, he's also a pretty cool guy. I was dissatisfied with my meal once and he apologized to me 100 times and gave me a voucher for a free burrito. I usually get the chicken burrito or taco salad; I can't vouch for the nachos or quesadillas as I've never tried them. However, the burrito is always fantastic and very full. In short, for $7 you can get a pretty solid meal that will definitely fill you. I can't complain, I love it here at Qdoba and I'm sure a lot of people do, too!

    (4)
  • Lisa B.

Without getting into specifics, I'll just share that I will not be returning to this location. There's no reason to leave a restaurant feeling demeaned by the staff. Bummer since I frequently work at Northeastern.

  • Alexandra M.

What's not to love about things covered in cheese--like their nachos? especially during finals, great location for them during them...the burritos are also great, but that's overall for Qdoba. As for this one, they have never messed up an order of mine and have always been quick.

  • Caro K.

The server at the beginning of the line had such a thick accent and quiet voice that I couldn't understand a word she said. So, I was not really surprised when I asked for a regular steak burrito, but was given a chicken bowl instead. The bowl was just all the ingredients of a burrito dumped into a bowl without the tortilla. At this point, I have no idea how to order a burrito the way I understand it to be - with a tortilla. She was confusing everyone because no one in line could understand what she was saying. The manager had to step in several times to get the line moving. However, that manager was incredibly nice and amazingly fast. He certainly made it all better. Apparently 90% of the staff is new and all were training on that day. Not an efficient way to run a business... Overall I can't complain too much because the "burrito" bowl turned out pretty decent, and the manager was awesome. (I still want my burrito though.) Good (not great) experience- decent taste, fast-ish service, mid-range prices. I'll try them again.

  • Rani P.

The name, the look and even the food make Qdoba look so incredible- especially when good tex-mex options are not anywhere close. Let me start by saying- this is my favorite kind of food- burritos, quesadillas, chips and salsa! I have not ordered a burrito, quesadilla or chips and salsa that I have actually genuinely enjoyed. Even the taco salad lacks any flavor. I never leave the end of a burrito uneaten- it's my favorite part! But.... when I leave Qdoba, the end of my burrito sits sadly in my basket as I walk it to the trash can. What disappointment. What dismay. Anna's anyone????

  • Vito B.

I was going to eat here yesterday, but decided not to. A woman was mopping. Then she stopped mopping and proceeded to the food counter as if she were going to handle whatever food I were to order. She had not changed her plastic gloves since handling the mop. I do not believe I am excessively fussy in thinking that one does not touch a mop handle and then handle people's food. The gloves are not expensive. Change as often as need be!

  • Evey G.

They wrap their burritos poorly, theyre somewhat expensive, and the ingredients aren't the freshest. Regardless, they are my favorite burritos in Boston! I'm a sucker for the queso burritos, can't help it. They win in overall taste in my opinion. Plus beers. And sports on the tv. Its quick, its tasty. If you want classy, or tightly wrapped burritos, find somewhere else.

    (4)
  • Kim K.

Line can get super long and there doesn't seem to be enough people working behind the counter. Still, Qdoba is yummy and cheap, and seating here is abundant. This location is super convenient to my office too.

    (3)
  • Mo J W.

They nevwer have all the ingredients for my taco bowl. Every time I have been in this Qdoba there is always something that they run out of.

    (2)
  • Steven R.

Eh, I thought my burrito was pretty good. The portions are really big, but I wasn't blown away by the quality. It feels like a college joint- which it is. I thought it was a bit expensive for my burrito, at over $8, but at least they give you a lot of food. I'd go again if I was in a rush, but I wouldn't seek this place out.

    (3)
  • Sydney T.

I've always loved Qdoba, but I love it even more now that they offer free extras. I love being able to pile on two types of queso and guac. It makes me feel free. I can't believe Boloco across the street is still in business with this Qdoba that gives you twice the amount of food for the same price. My only complaint about this place is that if the burrito maker only puts a little bit of salsa on my burrito, and I ask for a little bit more, they put a huge spoonful on so that it clearly overpowers everything else in the burrito. I don't know if they do this to spite people that ask for more than they originally give, but it's kind of a bummer. They got one of those sweet Coke machines where you can add flavors and make weird things. I suggest eating in the restaurant just so you get multiple cups of fun pop. This is my favorite place on campus, mostly because they give you so much food for $8. Definitely get the burrito bowl and a bag of chips. The amount of food will blow your mind.

  • Kunal S.

The worst part of this qdoba is the staff. The are the rudest people on this planet. They don't understand anything called customer service. Me and my friends went there and they dont even know how to talk to their customers. The worst place ever to go.

    (1)
  • Aswin Muthiah M.

I love this place. Right opposite to my university, this is heaven! The food is great, the place is spacious, offers free extras. Kid Meal can be a good choice when you want to have a little meal and have a drink along that comes for free :) The only regret I have here, is getting my point conveyed to the person taking the order.

    (5)
  • David A.

The staff are very pleasant and I've created interesting mini-friendships that make ordering burritos more interesting. Free guac is awesome.

  • Elleen P.

I wasn't expecting much out of Qdoba, as an avid fan of Chipotle, and not-a-fan of Boloco. After a friend recommended it, I came here and ordered the chicken bowl. I didn't know guac was free, but I wish I had! The bowl was good -- chicken was moist and the rest of their ingredients were well cooked & prepared as well. Pretty spot on with Chipotle, I would say. Plus, paying $7 for a meal is something you don't hear of often in the city of Boston. I'll definitely be returning -- place wasn't crowded, either, on a Tuesday night @ around dinner time.

    (4)
  • Cristian S.

Great food, great service. Bathrooms are clean. The burrito is pretty good and it comes with free guac, which is a one up on Chipotle. TVs play mostly sports channels. The restaurant is close to Northeastern and has a good student crowd.

    (5)
  • Aj T.

The queso sauce is really nice. I get there kiss gumbo which is much cheaper and it's enough for one person. Also, their 'kraft for 2' allows two small portions and it's a lot of food.

    (4)
  • Sara N.

I am a fan of Qdoba and this is a good location. It's a great place to eat for any college students because it is affordable and you get big portions. Guac and queso don't cost extra which is awesome. Sometimes there is a big line but it always seems to move fairly quickly.

    (4)
  • Edwin F.

The food was amazing! Their burritos are super high in calories, but you go there for the taste of their delicious food. Not to think about how many calories you are consuming, right? The employees rush you a bit, but what can you expect when you have a line of hungry college students out the door? I recommend this place if you are in the area, and the line is worth the wait! Peace to the world!

  • Chong C.

It is quite safe to say that I've been to this Qdoba more than 50 times throughout my college years. Most of times, I liked my food. (my favorite) Chicken nacho is awesome :D and burrito's usually good. Chicken burrito with extra hot sauce is so delicious :) I had only one bad experience at this place. I placed an order online and went there to pick up my food at scheduled time, and the employee had no idea that somebody placed order online so I had to wait for another 15 minutes. Well, but one bad experience doesn't really take away good reputations that have been built for 5 years, so I still like this place :)

  • Jessica Q.

I don't know if it's just this Qdoba, but the burritos are pretty bad. They really need to learn how to WRAP a burrito. At least try to make it look like you're making a burrito and not a chicken wrap. The meat is average. The steamed tortilla is weird and not good. "Free guacamole" is kind of the only thing this chain has going for them, and you really have to ask them to put more because they really skimp. The salsa is pretty fresh, though, which makes one star. Come here for the bowls instead. Anything with a tortilla is not worth getting. Sincerely, California Spoilt Burrito Lover

  • Aboud Y.

Cheeeeese. Qdoba is all about its cheese. Their Queso sauce is among the guiltiest pleasures in the business. The 3-cheese, artery-clogging goo is the perfect nacho accompaniment. Its the main reason why I come here and the only reason to stop here instead of lets say a Chipotle's (which has much better burritos). Anyhow...I digress. Bottom-line: their cheeeeeeese is gooooood.

UGH. If you want a burrito, go to Anna's. If you want something quick around NU, go across the street to the Wrap. Don't waste your time here. You're going to get an ugly, unappetizing looking meal that is going to make your stomach curdle about 30 minutes later. Every time I've come here, I've felt sick for the rest of the day. Yes, it serves beer and wine, but nothing notable -- mainly just Corona's and Dos Equis. If I wanted a beer and food, I'd go to Conor's or something on Boylston -- not here. The only thing worth mentioning is the chicken quesadilla. But it's not good enough to save this place.

    (1)
  • Holly S.

Insert the "whaaant-whaaant-whaaant-whaaaaah" sound here. Your rice is over-seasoned Minute Rice and your burritos are loosely packed and poorly rolled. Get with the program or get out of town. Plus, in the universe of Boston burritos, these things are overpriced--even if they were good, which they are not.

    (1)
  • Shanna L.

If you like taco salads, go to this place. Wicked good taco shell salads. SO fresh and SO good. Pretty good variety of ingredients, and tasty. Plus, they serve beer. Definitely not attempting to be authentic Mexican, so if that's what you want, go somewhere else. But, they're really good for what they specialize in. Atmosphere can be noisy, but it's a clean place and is decorated brightly. I've never had a bad experience here. (knock on wood) PS - College students, they take Fenway Cash and the Huskies Card and all that other good stuff.

    (4)
  • Kirs P.

Is Qdoba authentic mexican food? heck no, and it doesn't pretend to be , either. But, they make a damn tasty burrito for what it is. Unfortunately Qdoba is nowhere near as good as the original pseudo-mexican burrito place, Chipotle, but I'm pretty sure the closest Chipotle is in NYC. I don't know about the meat options, but the veggie burrito never disappoints- especially if your hungover.

    (4)
  • Nathan R.

You get what you expect...what do you expect?

  • Larry B.

Authentic? No. Here's where the attraction of Qdoba lies: Red Sox home games. if you're coming in from the suburbs, park in the Prudential Center garage ($15 w/ Sox ticket stub for evening/weekend gfames). Stop by the food court and load up on a burrito and some bottled water before heading into the park. Is it as tasty as El Pelon? No, but it's not as crowded-- and it fills you up good before the game.

  • Sarah S.

I hate Qdoba. I pass it at least twice a day and I still never go in. Its overpriced, disgusting, and just waste of time. I would rather hit up Chicken Lou's or even, ugh, Au Bon Pain.

    (1)
  • Casey Z.

I really hate that this place doesn't make real burritos. None of their food actually tastes like real Mexican food. The way they cook and make all their ingredients that goes into everything is poorly made. No flavor, no pizazz, no nothing. Most of the time I feel like I'm eating a roll of mush, and by the way they poorly wrap their burritos because mine almost always falls apart. I'm only giving this place more than one star because they at least usually get my order right, and i don't find interesting things in my food.

    (2)
  • Robert N.

Qdoba is a good place, but I have some serious problems with it: 1) At a restaurant like this everything should come with free chips, and it doesn't. 2) They do not have tofu. If qdoba made those two improvements it would instantly be 4 stars. For now, walk just a little farther down the street to where the burritos are better ....

    (2)
  • Vanilla P.

Chewy yet crunchy chicken -- HOW on earth do they do that? It's amazing to me how one bite can ruin an otherwise average burrito. If I wanted gristle, I'd go to Mexico where it's normal. Satiate my American palette, dammit! Even though the chicken wasn't great, the rice was flavorful. Too much cheese for my taste, and it overwhelmed the delicate poblano pesto flavor that I thought I would really enjoy. I asked for the fiery sauce, and the sauce they put on was pretty darn mild. Prices are a little high for what you get, but it was the lunch rush, so maybe they were rushing to accommodate the hoards of people lined up for their grub. One bonus: They seem to be very aware of dietary restrictions (vegan, low-carb, etc) and offer a lot of options for picky people. It's nice to know that Qdoba cares about my preferences. *sigh*

  • Ann P.

we were at Northeastern and had an interview so had 40 min for a quick bite. I asked everyone for directions to a local awesome hole in the wall nearby..no one had a clue so we walked to Qdoba. It was clean and neat. Service was fast and the servers were most polite. My teen ordered a grilled chicken burrito. They will it with anything you want. I had a chicken quesadilla with hand mashed guac. Honestly it was pretty darn good for fast food.

If you're really hankering Mexican food-- well, this place might satisfy your urge but will still leave you unsatisfied. It probably is good considering we're in Boston, but I'm from CA and so was disappointed. The veggie burrito was worth coming back for-- especially when compared to Boloco next door which is just gagilicious.

    (2)
  • G J J.

I think that perhaps for Boston this is fine. Coming from Southern California, I think it is terrible. Guacamole that tastes like green sour cream? Rice that is flavorless? Nearly seven dollars for a burrito? Several veggie options make it a place to return to, especially when busy.

    (2)
  • Katharine T.

Qdoba has pretty solid "Mexican" food. Generally doesn't have too bad of a line, and besides sodas, has Snapple and such. The food is pretty good, they have tacos and quesadillas, burritos and such, but it's kind of pricey overall.

    (3)
  • Brian W.

Hot damn this place has good burritos. Things are HUGE. The only downside is that this place is kind of like an Olive Garden.. but Mexican.. by that I mean the food is usually really good but it's not truly authentic ethnic cuisine. But hell, I'm a college kid looking to grab some cheap food for a couple bucks. Do I care? Not really. Does it taste good? Yeah. Are there sh*ttons of college kids in here all the time? Pretty much. Is the staff cool? Damn straight. Might I say that whoever thought of the name for this place.... what did you smoke?

    (4)
  • Erika S.

It's kind of funny that people are flipping out that Qdoba isn't authentic. Authentic what? It's an Americanized-Mexican fast food chain, and it isn't pretending to be anything else. I like Qdoba because the ingredients are all fresh and are all separate so you know what you're getting and can get everything custom-made. Pretty much everything can be made vegetarian/vegan, because they don't pre-mix meat or dairy additives into anything. The only complaint I have is one time when I went and the counter was set up wrong so the meat was behind the beans and they were dumping meat into the beans as they spooned it out. I mentioned this to the manager, who was very apologetic, stated that this was improper food handling, and went into the back and pulled out a fresh thing of beans. I love love love that they have taco salads in those übercalorific taco shell bowl things. Black beans and corn, nom nom nom. Oh, and they have darker lettuce, some type of mix of leaf and romaine, which should please the iceberg-hater crowd. You know who you are. This location used to have wine, Corona, Mike's, and Mike's-a-ritas, but they stopped serving them a few months ago. I'm not sure if this is temporary or if they've gotten rid of their license. I hope the beverages come back. The atmosphere here is pretty collegey, but it's clean and there's nice people-watching along Huntington Ave. It can be pretty fun to watch sporting events here, and it's less crowded and a lot cheaper than going to a bar-and-grill to watch events.

The food here is pretty average at least the offer real drinks no HFCS.The mango salad was fine.

  • Joe C.

My experience with burritos comes down to one factor: how well it is wrapped. The ingredients at this location tasted good, but the burrito that I was given was bursting, and not wrapped very well. They didn't seem to pack it down tightly, so when I went to bite it it would burst. Other than that small inconvenience it was good. If you don't care for the wrap, you can get a bowl or a salad, so its not that big of a deal. I found it a little bit pricey, simply because I got guacamole added, but that is true of any burrito place you go and add guac. If it had been wrapped better I don't think I would have a problem giving this three stars, as they do accomplish what they set out to do. A quickly served, good tasting meal.

  • shannon c.

Seriously? I don't know where to begin. Yes I do. What would make you think it's okay to put the cheese on the burrito last? The art of the burrito clearly states that you put the cheese on first so it will melt into the rest of the delicious pod of yummy while you make it. Qdoba must have missed this memo. And what do they season their chicken with? It tastes vaguely like chemicals... kind of like Diet Dr. Pepper tastes a little funny, so does their chicken. And finally, pricing. It is a sin to pay almost $9.00 for a burrito and a small drink. Sorry, I'll be spending my time at Anna's.

First off, I enjoy my Qdoba very much, but this specific establishment is always a disappointment. There are always ingredients that have "run out". Today, they were out of white rice, queso, and the corn salsa (my favorite!). The service here is subpar, and the employees are hastily making everyone's meals. Not my favorite Qdoba to go to.

Whenever I visit the Museum of Fine Arts, I always make a lunch stop at Qdoba. Located just off the campus of Northeastern University, and a few blocks away from the MFA, this Qdoba has exceptional service and quality ingredients. I'm particularly fond of the Signature burritos. It's funny because I originally wasn't a big fan of the Qdoba chain, but the Signature burritos really turned me on to them -- particularly the Queso burrito and typically the monthly special. I haven't had a bad Signature one yet. Location-wise, it's right off the T (Northeastern stop, Green Line) and serves up an excellent lunch that will fill you for hours as you burn off its calories while looking at high art.

I miss this place..a lot. I've been to three or four other qdobas and this is still my favorite. Their 3 cheese nachos are FANTASTIC. You can't go wrong with any topping, but I prefer the pork or steak. Burritos are awesome as well. This is 100 times better than Chipolte (which is still decent, but can't compare). They also have Dr. Pepper as a fountain soda choice...very nice.

Average Mexican food. The rice can sometimes be salty. The chips very from lime flavored to bland and stale. The salad without the greasy shell is tolerable.

    Perfectly acceptable burritos.

Yeah, I know. This isn't Tacos Lupita or El Triunfo or Anna's or Boca Grande. It's the fast food equivalent of burritos. It's not spicy or particularly exciting. However, I still find myself eating here. Why? Because I love baby-sized-burritos. I'm talking the size of an actual baby, or maybe just a baby's head. If I'm jonesing for burritos (which happens more often than you'd think), I usually hit up Qdoba or Boloco across the street. Regardless, I like big-ass burritos in my tummy. Nom. If I had my choice I'd totes pick Anna's but sadly, there's no Anna's near work. What's that all about? I'm not a fan of their prices. $7 for an (admittedly big) burrito? Lame. It's even lamer that they have to gringo-fy the toppings, like calling pico de gallo "mild salsa". Even lamer-er if they put shredded cheese on your bidness. The only time I got cheese on my grilled chicken burrito, I got a mouthful of tortilla, sour cream, and bland ol' cheddar. Do not want. It's not authentic, blah blah blah....but give me Qdoba or Boloco any day (if I can't have my first choice of fast-food Mexican) over Taco Bell. At least it's a hefty step up, and as a result I'm far less likely to become host to a tapeworm and/or spend my days and nights praying to the porcelain god. Ay, no es bueno!

NOT AUTHENTIC!!!! I got a vegetarian burrito. Bland, bland, tasteless. Rice had no flavor, guacamole was lacking salt, beans were lacking flavor, cheese was just mush... never coming back again!!

I've had my first Qdoba experience here...and ever since then.. if I'm hungry and there's a Qdoba around.. I will go! This location is on point. Never had any issues.. If you're looking for some burrito, taco, quesadilla goodness.. forget those new crappy Chipolte joints.. GO TO QDOBA!! Chipolte doesn't make anything else but burritos.. at Qdoba you have so many more options.

Shame on B.U. for getting rid of Taco Bell on Comm Ave. They claimed that the food was inferior. So they replaced it with a frickin' Starbucks (there's something new) So, if I wanted Mexican food, I now have to go to Qdoba. I went to Qdoba for lunch, I was in the mood for a ground beef taco. They had it, but I had to purchase the 3 set- o.k.., fine. I watched her "scoop" a tiny spoonful of beef onto my tacos, I showed allot of restraint not to say something. I bit into it. It was like a salt lick for a horse. It was so danged salty I took advantage of the respond website on the receipt to let them know how I felt (besides dizzy and horse-like from the salt lick) Now we may get on Taco Bell because they only have 33% beef in their beef, but dag, at least they make it taste better than this, and it's less fattening :) The Taco Bell location , which was forced out by B.U. was the first TB franchise in Boston; the last city to pick up TB over 30 years ago. Only because that franchise would not honor the B.U. card is why I am subjected to Qdoba. Oh yeah, the next time I went to Q, with some friends, a bird flew in and made lunch pretty exciting and to this day I can't remember what I had. Somebody bring back TACO BELL to Kenmore area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I absolutely love Qdoba. Best spicy queso sauce and surprisingly delicious nachos. This location is especially nice too. Minus a star though because every time I go in the guy who rings me up profusely hits on me. I call this bad customer service.

FIRST TIME.....AND MY LAST TIME. Scottsdale Rd & Indian School location: OVERPRICED SO-SO FOOD..... not impressive on any level..... bottom line: not worth the money or the time. We would have been much better off going to Chipolte just up the street at Camelback and Scottsdale. The cheese tasted a little strange and cheap and it was just an all around unimpressive. I even went to the counter and asked whom I could give my comments to, only to be handed a card with a webaddress on it.... I mean, REALLY?!? And as we were leave some fat balding white guy outside asked how it was and I said "hmmmm, OK", to which he showed very little interest in knowing why...... which just goes to show you they have no real concern or interest in listing to people that have put down some hard earned money to actually eat there.......... hopefully the next restaurant that moves in will have better food and show a little concern.

I'm sorry folks, Qdoba is simply the bomb. Yes, it's bastardization of Mexican cuisine, but they're not trying to hide it and you know you secretly love it. Look in your pocket dictionary: ain't no definition of Qdoba up in there. This place is great for a lunchtime burrito - now they even have a pulled pork burrito - "ancho chile pork" and it is deeelicious. Their taco salad is a lighter choice and just the right amount of food. I'm always wary about eating too much at lunchtime. Their burritos threaten overkill, so be warned. Their chicken quesadilla is excellent as well, with a side heap of some of the best guacamole I've ever had. Maybe Anna's is better priced and more authentic, but Qdoba tastes and- don't shoot me- seems fresher.

So, I came here with Jenni after not being able to get into the MFA for a special exhibit that was sold out. So we decided to get lunch instead. Wanting to try something new and different, I decided to do Qdoba instead of ABP. Now... I like Mexican foods and I love burritos, but please note that although, it says Mexican Grill outside, it is not your authentic Mexican restaurant so SHUT UP and stop crying about it. You're an idiot for thinking it is. I got the pork burrito and it was amazing! The pork was so tender and juicy. Topped it off with my sour cream, salsa, beans, rice, guac, etc. Deeee-lish--ciouuussss..... I ate that big ass burrito up so quickly, you'd blink and it'd be gone. P.S. They also sell alcoholic beverages during the day! BONUS POINTS! Even though I just had a snapple. P.P.S. They have Mexican Salad Hats! (that's what we called them when we were in h.s.) These are those tortilla bowls that are shaped like a hat if you turn them the other way around. Well they're deep fried (in h.s. anyway) and are awesome filled with everything. I will have to try theirs the next time I'm there. I've never seen this done anywhere else since h.s. cafeteria.

Do you like cheese? How about black beans? Do you drown things in sour cream? Do you like the taste of Mexican food, but fear the tang of true hot sauce? Needless to say, if you answered 'yes' to any of the above three, you will enjoy Qdoba. I am a Northeastern student and I would pick Qdoba over Boloco any day. Yes, they're a bit pricier, however their portions are also MUCH BIGGER. Really, the burritos they serve easily weigh half a pound and are usually drippy and pretty delicious. In addition to all this, they also serve beer. Good beer. Winter Lager good. And let's be honest, even the cheapest, greasiest, most sub par quesadilla tastes much better when washed down with a cold cerveza (corona with lime anyone?) So, all in all, if you want the most bang for your fast food buck near NEU, hit Qdoba, you won't be sorry.

  • Amanda L.

There are so many other places that you can go to and get authentic Mexican food. While the food here is edible, the prices are retarded. Why am I going to spend $8.00 on a freakin' quesadilla that has two pieces of chicken on it when I can go anywhere else and get one for half that price that tastes so much better and is twice as big??? I lived on top of this Qdoba for a year and never had the urge to go eat inside. I have eaten there a handful of times, but I'm never really satisfied. Even if I do want some quesadilla, one look at the price makes me turn right back around. So not even worth it

Qdoba, how dare you call yourself a Mexican Grill if you don't even have jalapenos! Other than that, their burritos are decent - huge. They aren't really like long, cynlindrical burritos. they're kind of short, stout, and shaped as a rectangular prism. But good, and filling... but not as good as a burrito with jalapenos on it.

  • I Love Food 2.

This Qdoba is solid. Actually, it's better than that. I've never left feeling like I wasted time or money. The burritos have great ingredients and are made with quality and care. It's not the most authentic place, but I enjoy eating there. The quesedillas are great, you probably won't find too many places in Boston with great quesedillas, but that's mainly because the Mexican food "bar" in Boston is not that high. In any case, if I want a burrito or quesedilla somewhere close to where I live, this is usually the first place that comes to mind. There's also Bolocco, but that's not the best place in terms of eating enjoyment. Bolocco's strength is originality and making burritos that are actually healthy (or close to it). Qdoba is a nationwide chain, so it's not a local joint by any means. However, I think it's worth a try for anyone in the neighborhood. Their pico de gallo is especially great, in my opinion. It's definitely a far cry from authentic Mexican food, but if you're in Mission Hill or Fenway I highly recommend checking this place out for a quick bite. The quantities are all right, could be more, but it's better than Chipotle, Bolocco or any of the other burrito chains in this specific area that I've encountered.

Lived next to Qdoba for 4 years while I was at college. Needless to say I was there a lot! Service is always quick even when there is a line at lunch time. The ingredients are always extremely fresh and their burritos are excellent. It's also great when your on the fly! You can also watch sporting events here; they will pull down the screen and you can sit there and have a few beers!

    (5)
  • Chelsea L.

HUGE burritos...you may be paying a little bit more here, but you get alot of food for what you pay. The queso chicken burrito is good, as are the quesadillas and the taco salads. For the healthier eaters, try the naked burrito (probably my favorite) which is a burrito minus the tortilla (which you can get on the side if you'd like). The option to have some beers with dinner is also nice, although I've never taken advantage of this. Don't forget to get your Qdoba card, which gives you free chips & salsa, etc after you accumulate enough points.

  • Natasha A.

While the burritos do taste awesome, I guarantee that in an hour or two you will be either praying to the porcelain god or taking a 3 hour nap. Go to El Pelon on Peterborough st instead if you can. Otherwise be prepared to sleep away your grease induced saturday afternoon.

Everyone raves about the burritos, but I go there for the TACOS. OMG the best tacos ever, made just right, I highly recommend the shredded beef. I have also sampled the chicken quesadilla, and ground sirloin nachos. I had a nice qdoba obession going, then I ran out of money. It's really sad :( I can't wait to get paid so I can go back and eat more!!! The one on Huntington is really nice and practically brand new. Staff is great. I've also been to the one in the Pru, not as nice (it's in a food court, what do you expect?) and the staff isn't as great either. For a better overall experience, go to the one at Northeastern. Cool bathrooms too!!

  • Rachel M.

I've been here maybe two dozen times over the last four years because it is super convenient when your on campus for classes. I normally go every once in a while just to mix it up from just boloco BUT I recently realized that the attitude of qdoba employees, as a whole, sucks. Every other time I go there is some mistake with either my order or someone is blatantly rude to a customer(normally not me) I always brush it off thinking that maybe he or she is having a bad day but then I realized that this happens ALL THE TIME. The food isn't that good, and its way overpriced for the quality/quantity.

Quick stop after visiting the MFA. Don't like the fat burrito style, but it's nice you can order mexican beer with your burrito. I guess amanda hate it, but The Burrito Beer style is pretty cool! Most people there are students from NEC and Northeastern.

Flavorless. My friend got sicked after eating one of their taco salads. Just take a stroll over to El Pelon, or if you're lazy, at least go to Boloco nearby.

Great burritos and taco salads. You get a lot for your money. Don't forget the guacamole and cholula hot sauce.

Still better than Chipotle, And they have CHOLULA!

  • Nicole C.

I love Qdoba, mostly because I could walk there from studio. No seriously, great burritos. You will leave there feeling very full. Good quality food for cheap. Poblano Pesto is my favorite burrito and I also love the tacos. They have catering and stuff an a burrito eating contest which is hilarious to watch. Go to see a man stuff an entrie burrito in his mouth at once. Well not quite... but almost...maybe this year...

  • Sam D.

Qdoba's often overshadowed by Anna's, but it definitely holds its own. The line is often long at lunch time, but it moves fast. The ingredients taste fresh-- the burritos are great. Get a annoyingly named "Q Card" and get pretty good rewards--a free chips and salsa just for signing up.

  • Jane B.

Decent. Nothing super extraordinary but decent for a burrito fix. Watch out for mundo fillings squirting out. Napkins are a must.

  • Nick Z.

While not my favorite place in Boston for quick Mexican food (Anna's, El Pelon, and Boca Grande all rank higher), Qdoba does at least provide a step up from Taco Bell and more generic fast food options. I agree with other reviewers that they're a little on the pricey side. However, if I get one of the enormous vegetarian burritos for lunch, I don't need to eat dinner! Bonus points for having bottles of Cholula around for those of us not afraid of spicy food.

    (3)
  • Jim W.

Quick and easy.... great burritos. Beats out any of the other chains (remember this place falls in the fast mexican food category). Burritos are plenty big and are made in front of you. My two favorites are the Chicken Mole burrito and the Queso Burrito with steak. Grab a beer or two and a filling burrito and chill out in front of one of the TVs while watching the T go by. If you frequent the place, make sure you get a Q-card so you can get freebies here and there.

Fake "mexican" food (again, picture me making air quotes), made by underpaid white people. It's trying to be an upscale version of taco bell. Totally gross.

  • Jon B.

When Qdoba came to Huntington and replaced Stars (did anyone even go there?), it was pretty awesome. The food was fresh and delicious. But somewhere along the way, Qdoba lost it's way and things just aren't the same anymore. Most of the workers there seem incompetent. The food is continually getting more expensive, and the food isn't as fresh as it used to be. It is a bit pricey considering you can get a massive wrap over at Boloco that tastes better and is bigger for less. Qdoba does have some pretty good nachos, but in the Southern US you get these for free with your meal, which really sours the deal here. Qdoba is a place you can probably visit a couple of times a year and not feel too bad about it, but it's by no means great.

  • Sean L.

Great Burritos, great tacos, and great fajitas. I love the food hear all around. Small beer selection but that's probably because they are mostly Mexican beers, one or two I had never heard of which I think is pretty cool. I sometimes wish it was slightly cheaper but that's possibly because I'm a poor college student. Think... Au Bon Pan but Mexican food. You even get to direct every ingredient that goes into your food. YUM. Also the only place on Northeastern campus that sells alcohol to my knowledge and they have lots of TVs and one huge projector screen for sporting events. Check it out.

  • Andy C.

I had my first Boston burrito at Qdoba and come here almost every week. Their burritos are huge, good enough for two meals if you want, but more likely than not you'll overstuff yourself with one delicious burrito. Although not the biggest draw, their other menu items like gumbo and tortilla soup are tasty as well.

  • Jennifer S.

I love it, I love it, I love it!! Not truly authentic, but miles in front of Taco Bell. This is a great campus eatery. It's conveniently located and the food ain't half bad. The portions are very generous and while it isn't the cheapest place around you can really get some bang for your buck by ordering a kids meal which comes with a small quesadilla, a fountain drink, and a side of chips and salsa. FYI: the staff really gets annoyed when you try to be all cool and pronounce the L's in quesadilla like Napoleon Dynamite (trust me I know from experience).

    (4)
  • Chris M.

Fairly unsatisfying. A plus is that the ingredients seem to be somewhat fresh, but this is the simplest, blandest Mexican food around. It's mall Mexican food, meaning no taste and a piling on of sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and all the typical crap. You really don't get a whole lot for your money, as a burrito and a drink is around 8 dollars. Get your ass over to Pelon Taqueria, that's where it's at. It's only a short. 10 minute walk through the Fens and it has more authentic, more complexly-flavored Mexican food like limed onions, plantains, fish tacoes, etc.

    (3)
  • Anonymous P.

Perhaps the worst burrito quality to price ratio in the United States. Much worse than Taco Bell (forget El Pelon, Boca, Anna's, and even Chipotle), but about 5 times as costly. Flavorless burrito that falls apart from the watery beans.

    (1)
  • Kristen G.

There are some good things about Qdoba. For example, there are lots of flavorful options and they serve beer. Downsides are, it tends to get a little bit loud inside and it's not as authentic as a place such as El Pelon. Prices are pretty much the same as most other fast food Mexican places in the area.

    (2)
  • Jessica N.

This place is quite tasty. It's an affordable mexican place. I guess it is a chain, but this is the first location I've ever been to. Their taco salads are really good and they come in a yummy edible shell. Burritos are also very good! I haven't tried other things there, but I'm sure they are the same. If you get the Qdoba frequent buyer card, you get a free order of chips and salsa after your register your card.

    (4)
  • Wei-ying W.

About what you'd expect from a food court vendor. Basic fare for decent prices. The salsa selection's pretty good.

    (3)
  • Anna S.

This place is good and cheap, but it doesnt even compare to boca grande or Anna's. To some it may seem the same, but to the taste buds of a true boston metro area tounge, this place seriously lacks. But it is good if you have only five bucks and a growling stomache.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
