Super clean, well stocked with tons of options including hot and cold items, large dining space (though I have been in many times during busy hrs where it's tough to find a seat.. depends on the hr).. just generally a fan of Pret. They do it right! Plus, they have calorie counts on everything which makes all the difference!

Normally quick, tasty and reliable, today you have left me picking through an overpriced salad and a mouth of muck. Not appreciated.

A great place to grab sandwiches/salads while you're on the go. Everything is neatly packaged and made day of... if you're the type of person that likes fresh ingredients, this is the place for you. Btw, Pret A Manger is fun to mispronounce. Also, the potato chips are super salty! It made my lips feel like they're all wrinkled up, as if I've taken too long of a shower... haha. I'd come back here if I'm looking for something quick or to go!

Not sure if they still have it, but the Hungarian mushroom soup at this chain was absolutely fantastic and one of my favorite foods. The hot buffalo chicken wrap/sandwich was also quite delicious.

Great place to stop for a coffee that is next to the shopping area. It helps that they have a restroom too and plenty of space to sit and rest with a up of coffee after walking around for hours. They mainly sell soups, sandwiches, salads and snacks, so a great place for on the go. Its not a super fancy place but solid rest and lunch spot.

Fast, easy, and has healthy options for breakfast. Seating area was clean and it was a nice way to start out the early morning. I had the 5 grain oatmeal and a croissant almond. Both were delicious and made fresh.

Pret's a fine sandwich shop. Honestly, their egg breakfast sandwiches are my secret weakness. I don't want to think about how many I've eaten. Their staff is friendly and well trained. Their food is worthwhile, though it seems to vary on who's working as to whether they're packed or skimped on. I consider them a high end fast food place for sandwiches. A better subway. Plus, if you're lucky, they'll just tell you it's on the house and send you on your way. It's only happened to me once, but it'd been a day I needed it, and that's all it takes for me to love a place. I'm pretty easy.

This is my go to place when I am having one of those "what do I want to eat for lunch" days. I have actually walked in and out of here on one lunch session before thinking I will find something better down the street. I usually come back and get the Cheddar & Tomato Sandwich and the Salt & Vinegar chips. The tuna salad used to be my go to thing but why are they putting black beans with tuna? SICK! Bring back the other one please!!!! I am also so happy their bags of chips say 1 serving because who lies to themselves and thinks 2 people can eat those small bags of chips? Not me. Ever. On a side note... this is where I learned Miso soup has over 1000mg of sodium when I read it up on the wall while paying... that was disturbing and sad to me. No wonder my ankles swell up after having a hot cup of that.

I discovered Pret when in London and had many lunches there. When they expanded in Paris, I was overjoyed and now I'm also very happy that they're in Boston! Their sandwiches are always good and fresh - as you'll see written around the store, all the food that hasn't been sold during the day is donated to charities and that's definitely one more reason for me to love Pret. No one wants to eat an old sandwich and no one wants to see all the food being thrown away either: this is the perfect solution and I'm glad that Pret is doing it. Anyway, back to the sandwiches! They have a lot of options and even have some 1/2 ones if you don't feel too hungry. They also have hot options: mac & cheese (2 varieties, will definitely try it next time!) and soup. Minus 1 star because the cashiers were all chatting together when I went to pay and mine barely looked at me/said hi and goodbye. Otherwise, the space is really nice and clean and they have free wifi! You can sit by the windows and people watch if that's your thing!

Maybe it's because I only get to have Pret when I'm in NYC, Boston or London, but I love it. It's fresh, it's tasty and it's efficient. Also, everything is right up front -- you know what you're eating, when it was made and what's in it before you purchase it. Sadly, that's a rarity these days. This location is great -- clean, ample seating and it's always well-stocked. I love their veggie options and great chips!

They have the only non-crappy croissants outside of France. Fluffy, flaky, and perfect.

Generally just a really overpriced, mediocre spot to get healthy(?) food, coffee, and the like. I came here with my friend to study because we wanted to chill before she took the Logan Express at Copley. Aside from the convenience of being close to the bus stop for that, I was pretty unimpressed with my experiences here. We got a large caramel macchiato or something like that, and although I expected it to be sweet, it tasted like I was drinking caramel mixed with milk, then microwaved. I suppose I'm not the most qualified judge for this since I never get super sweet espresso drinks but I just anticipated it to ahve a little more coffee flavor with some sweetness. Meh idk. Anyway, staff was kind of rude as well -- I stood there waiting to ask for a lid, but the cashier ignored me for the longest time even though he wasn't serving another customer. Probably wouldn't return unless this was my only option. :(

Good for a grab and go lunch/coffee/cookie etc. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it because you can walk in and out within 5 min! And, it's healthy. I wish you had the option of taking napkins yourself.. they tend to give only 1 or 2 per sandwhich.

The worst Pret I've ever been to. I picked up a falafel and red pepper wrap from the shelf, paid for my meal, ate the wrap, then proceeded to get ill about 15 minutes later. I don't know if the wrap was made incorrectly or the ingredients weren't fresh, but it was not a great experience. I have been to other Prets that have had delicious egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches, but I had an especially terrible experience at this particular Pret. Maybe it was a stroke of bad luck, maybe it's symptomatic of the restaurant as a whole. No clue.

  • Kristen K.

Bait & switch much? How does Pret justify 3 inches of empty space inside its wrap packaging? At first I thought I had an irregular sandwich, but based on other reviews, I now understand this is how they pull one over on customers who think they are getting a good value for their money, when in fact $7 barely buys half a wrap. Also seems like a lot of wasted packaging for a company supposedly committed to recycling. I will not go back. I wonder if the AG will investigate this unfair and deceptive practice?

I love Pret, and I am obsessed with the Avocado Mediterranean sandwich. I actually had a bad experience at the brand new store on Atlantic avenue a few weeks ago, but gosh darn it, I love their Mediterranean. So I figured maybe just that location was bad. I was wrong. This location, probably after the manager leaves for the day, decides they don't want to make any sandwiches after 5 PM. I came in here before my workout to see if this location carries the Mediterranean, and they had one left. Perfect, I said to myself, I'll stop and get one after my workout. I went back at 6:30 PM and there were no more, and they had collapsed the entire sandwich section to just a few sparse sandwiches. So, I walked up to someone who I later found out to be Cynthia, and asked her, confused, "Are you guys closing soon?" Cynthia snapped at me, "10 o'clock". I said, "Oh, because there aren't many sandwiches left." Cynthia snapped at me, annoyed, "That's it!" I said, "Oh, that's it? But you close at 10 and there's not much left." Cynthia rolled her eyes at me and snapped, "THAT'S IT! There isn't any more!!" I stood there confused, not only because there were no sandwiches left, but also because this employee clearly had no interest in seeing if maybe there was something I wanted, since there was virtually nothing left. If I had arrived 30 minutes prior to closing, sure, I wouldn't expect there to be anything left, but it was 6:30 on a Wednesday. She continued to scowl at me, annoyed that some lowly customer had entered her store. So, I walked down the street and went to the other Pret and they had a beautiful selection, a wall replete with beautiful sandwiches and two friendly young ladies who work there. I actually called back later in the day to find out the GMs name, and his name is Orlando. Then I happened to see someone else's review that mentioned Orlando berating an employee in front of customers.... so maybe the poor attitude and low expectations are coming from the top-down. I think this location waits for the manager to leave then stops doing work because they simply don't feel like it. Now that this is my 2nd bad experience across 2 Pret stores, I think they probably have a larger problem. Sure, they won't go out of business, simply because there are so many people in the captive audience of Boston, but their sales will probably suffer. I hate that I love their sandwich and that there is nothing like it anywhere else. Finding a vegan sandwich that is tasty and filling is virtually impossible, and I wish this sandwich was sold anywhere else except Pret a Manger.

Good basic food but ABSURD that they don't have mayonnaise or mustard etc. What kind of sandwich shop doesn't have that??! No prepackaged packets and nothing available from the kitchen. HUH?

Yay! I was looking for a spot on a weeknight to meet up with friends in Back Bay, and when all of our usual casual meetup haunts were filled to the brim (Trident, Pavement), this place had plenty of space, free tables, and most importanty, WiFi. It can be really difficult to find a cafe in this particular part of town that isn't tiny and cramped, so the spaciousness of Pret A Manger is a big plus to me. I grabbed a half sandwich and chips for less than $6, which seems like a steal to me in Back Bay. And the (warm) chocolate chip cookie was divine. I'd like to see a few more food options and more abundant outlets, but other than that, I give it my blessing.

I like Pret. Its a great quick place to grab lunch in the Back Bay. Unlike most places for lunch on the go, you do NOT order your sandwich order from someone behind a counter.... you actually take it off a rack on the wall.---- WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?! This isn't just some randomly paper-wrapped sandwich you grab at a 7-11 (ok ok ok, I've never done that, but I am trying to make a parallel here, so work with me) --- the hot sandwiches are in heated spaces, the cold ones in cooled spaces. They also have these "toasties" (Which are basically somewhere between a panini and a grilled cheese) that they put into a press and toast for a few minutes before giving it back to you. All the "prepared sandwiches" are constantly made throughout the day, and you can see the team there restocking the shelves with new sandwiches ALL day. All the foods have calorie counts listed--- which is handy if you are looking to stay within certain limits for the day. My personal favorites - NY Meatball Wrap (It has full pieces of basil!) BBQ Pulled Pork Ham and Cheese Toastie Perhaps one of the BEST things about Pret.... every premade sandwich/salad/soup that is not sold *the day it is made*, is DONATED to be given to less fortunate folks in the Boston area for meals that evening. Its really a great business model. The price is not expensive but generally on par for the lunch spots in the Back Bay area. It really is my go-to place for a quick sandwich that I am going to eat at my desk.

Decent but somewhat pricy place to buy sandwiches, soup, salads, yogurt... All your standard lunch goodness (plus some seriously delicious looking desserts, if you have no self-control, like me). Depending on what time of day it is when you stop in, the amount of variety will vary. First time I came by was after a BollyX class at BSC next door at like 9 PM, so Pret was going to be closing in about an hour. Selection was so-so. A sandwich, yogurt, and mango OJ came to $14.52, so yeah... convenient, but not so cheap. Next time I came by, it was mid-afternoon, and the selection was much better. Still as pricy as ever, though! Sandwich, sparkling water, and chips came to 12 bucks. So that's over 26 dollars spent over the course of two visits to a sandwich shop. Wowza! Pret's food may come at a price, but at least it is crazy fresh! They have a "Made today, gone today" policy. Just take a bite of one of their sandwiches, and you'll be able to tell that that's no lie. As I was sitting there eating, I saw an employee walk out with even more freshly made sandwiches. They're cranking 'em out all day long! So if you're craving a really fresh sandwich while simultaneously wanting to lighten up your wallet a little bit, this is the place to go!

Pret is fantastic. I gave up being a vegetarian for a day to try their chicken Caesar bacon sandwich and I was NOT disappointed. I've had some of their other sandwiches too: falafel wrap, veggie sandwich with kale paste, and salmon/nori wrap. The mushroom breakfast sandwich is excellent too! OH! and you HAVE to try the love bar: oats topped with caramel, pumpkin seeds, almonds, and chocolate pieces...best. snack. everrrrrr. People seem to complain about the prices but I think the food is delicious enough to warrant them.

Nice spot for pre-made sandwiches. I got a toasted wrap to-go.Taste =4 star, price =3 star (but that's to be expected in the Newbury area).

I love Pret - first discovered in London in the early 90s - and I'm so happy they are here. The food is fantastic and fresh and different than ABP or Panera ( on part due to its UK roots) Gotta love the clean, modern space, friendly staff and giving leftover food to charity -- just feels good to support a company that does that. Was a bit chaotic and confused at the tills but chalk that up to first day jitters. I had a sparking orange soda and a cranberry- orange muffin -- both better than they has a right to be.

I came here when they first opened and were giving out free lunches. The staff was so lively and friendly. I absolutely loved them! They were dancing and singing popular songs but changing the lyrics so they matched up with Pret. "All I want for my birthdaaaay is a free lunch from Pret!" Don't get it? Think 2Chainz. Haha. Not only is the energy of the staff great, the food is great as well. I was surprised at just how good the sandwiches were being that they were prepackaged. I got the Turkey and Avacado one. The sandwich came with the best popcorn I've ever had in my life! As well as a brownie and a detox sparkling grape soda, which was really good as well. Simply put, Pret is awesome. I will definitely return.

I am very familiar with Pret A Manger. I stumbled upon this place when i was visiting DC a couple of years ago and was soooo hoping and wishing there was one in Boston. So, when I saw a sign over the summer they're opening this fall, I am sure you can imagine the excitement on my face. Today, I got the Balsamic Chicken, & Avocado sandwich which is part of their free lunch give away as their grand opening is Monday. the sandwiches here are simple, but tasty, packed with flavor and freshness. This is better than I thought it would be, since I've ordered turkey in the past. They also offered Tuna, Chedder and tomatoes and Chicken and Bacon. If you like croissants... don't forget to get one. you've got to get their almond croissant. I used to love Au Bon Pain's but this place blows them out of the water. Today, i got a chocolate and almond croissant - two of my favorites! I also got to try their yogurt today. they have a few. The one i got was regular yogurt tipped with almosts and in the bottom of the container is banana and honey. this was amazingly good and fresh. It is a bit tardy if you're not used to it. lastly, their coffees are just simply delicious. I wish there was one closer to my job. I'd definitely come here at least once a week!

I work around here so sometimes I stop by for lunch. The sandwiches and soups are good and they are freshly made everyday. The only flip side is it is a little bit pricy.

A couple of weeks ago I needed to bring lunch to a meeting, so decided to try a salad from Pret. They have several salad options, but being allergic to eggs, and giving up pork, I was limited with their selection. I tried the chicken avocado salad, and it was very fresh, and very good! Besides the chicken, there are lots of fresh mixed greens, some grape tomatoes, a whole avocado cut in half, dried cranberries, and walnuts. This is the only pre-made salad I will ever buy anywhere. I've now had it about four times, and it's consistently good . . . the dressing I've used is the balsamic vinaigrette, which is also very good. The cost is about $8. I'm so happy I discovered a good place for salad near work!

I can't get enough of this place. Their sandwiches are so delicious, and they have such variety. Its a little pricey but I am always happy, satisfied and remain full until dinner. The roast beef and arugula is to die for.

Love Pret! These restaurants are a great addition to the city when you're looking for a healthy bite on the run. This location is very convenient since it is located next door to the gym I go to after work. If I'm starving when I leave, or don't have dinner ready at home I'll just come in here and pick something up. Love that all the food is made fresh daily, and that each item has its macros listed (major plus). They have awesomely strong (organic!) coffee, and their shrimp cilantro wrap is bomb. I also recommend their pecan bar on days when you want a "cheat" dessert :)

Ate at the Pret in New York and loved it! the only down side we were a little confused about their system our first time in. Glad to hear it is in Boston and on Boylston Street, I need to be there next week and this will definitely be my lunch spot for the day.

You walk in and are greeted with enthusiastic hellos from the cashiers. When they realize they're out of your favorite sandwich--the Prosciutto--they not only lament with you, they also tell you when they'll have plenty again (Monday through Friday) and offer up a big smile. After you pay for your meal, the cashier says, "Try to find a seat outside--it's beautiful today!", and when you open your sparkling water and it spills out because of built-up carbonation, the manager comes over and cleans it up herself instead of handing you some paper towels to clean up your own mess. She smiles the entire time, making conversation to see if you're from Boston. And you think, "My god. What a great experience. This is what customer service is all about." Then, you finally sit down and take the first bite out of your sandwich. Life has never been so good. Thanks, Pret. Make it a Boston day. abostonday.com

Stumbled past this place as I was walking on Boylston and looking for a snack. Really nice, spacious place that I think would be nice to study in. I just came in for a chocolate croissant though which was warm and absurdly cheap. Nice place!

Prime location on the corner of Boylston st, diagonally across from Trinity Church. FOOD: $7-8 sandwiches that feature a wide variety, and unique combination of fillings. They run on the small side, especially for the price. My friend and I found them lacking depth of flavor. BEST DEAL: egg sandwiches for only $4.00, and a chocolate croissant for only $2.00.

I thought I'd go here for lunch. The place is very clean and the staff are nice. There's so much sandwiches to choose from, I finally got a hot Reuben wrap, Ginger beer and Rosemary & Olive oil chips. Everything is really delicious but quite pricey. The Reuben was very flavorful and spicy. The spice wasn't too bad, just gives it a kick. The Ginger beer was gingery!!! The chips were different but good different. I'd go back and try others.

I come to Pret every single day. Not always for myself, but because my boss absolutely loves their Chicken & Bacon sandwich. He eats one every day...and never wants anything else. Every once in awhile, I grab something for myself and to date: I haven't met a sandwich I didn't like. I very much enjoy the roast beef, the ham & cheese and also the brie and carmalized onion. Once I tried the crispy veggie sandwich and was impressed with that as well. Prices can be steep IMO, but the quality and freshness is worth it. Knowing that everything was made the same day and nothing sits out - the peace of mind is worth any extra dollars required! Staff is friendly, lively and fun - occasionally you hear someone win a daily freebie (usually based on something they say or what they come in wearing). The cashier explained to me one time that if it's, let's say, "white scarf day" - anyone coming in wearing a white scarf will get a free hot chocolate or something to that effect. :)

Great choice for pre-made sandwiches and salads etc... everything is fresh and what's cool is they give everything they have leftover at the end of the day to charity/homeless etc... :-) Food isn't awesome or out of this world or anything but it's about as good as pre made can get! #bestinapinch

Had the lobster roll and the Spanish meatball soup. Both were good. I was going to give this place 3 stars because the food is waaaaaaay overpriced for the portion size and quality. The great customer service, the cleanliness, and the fact they give all their food away to the homeless at the end of the day would push it up to 4 stars. Then I remembered how I paid $14.00 for a tiny cup of soup and a tiny lobster roll without buying a bottle of water even...(both were reasonably delicious)...how about 3.5 stars

I myself have been in the service industry for several years and I have never complained about a server of any sort. I go to Pret a lot because my office is right around the corner and I absolutely love their salads/wraps. However, today the girl who was making the beverages behind the counter was so incredibly rude to me that I felt as though I needed to write a review. I said something to the cashier about how rude she was and then the cashier continued to talk rudely about me to her friend next to her. It is very disappointing that a place I enjoyed so much hires employees like this. Unfortunately, I will no longer be visiting Pret.

This place just opened outside of Prudential Center, so I came by to grab a snack during my lunch break. The place itself is really cute but the food is okay and I think it is rather overpriced. Anyways, I got the buffalo chicken wrap and a coffee. All together it was around $9.00? The wrap was okay.... It was warm but the wrap itself was rather soggy and had some intense blue cheese flavors. If you don't like blue cheese, I don't recommend this wrap. I could have definitely chosen something much better. The coffee was much better though! I'll definitely come back for some more coffee. I heard their soups are good as well so maybe I'll try that next time. Overall, this place is also nice because it informs their customers of all the nutrition facts for all of their items. So if you're looking for something healthy and easy to grab, this is the place to go.

Was so excited when they opened as they offered a variety of meals as well as make your own meal options. There were gluten free options, or a single hard boil eggs... A lot of healthy options catering as well to those with some food allergies. Now? It is just another soup and sandwich place, not so different from panera bread or au bon pain. Disappointing

My new favorite place for a quick lunch since I work a block away from P.A.M. Their selection is wide and it all looks fresh and homemade. There are plenty of healthy options for the health conscious. Very cute, and as the name says, everything is ready to eat!

I really loved pret when i was in london to visit a friend. i'm glad they spread over to new york, and now boston. i tried to the new york one before. it wasn't as good so i didn't expect much from the boston one. and it meets my expectation. the sandwiches are good. but they are just sandwiches. they advertise that they are made right there day to day blah blah. but most coffee shops make their sandwiches to order... so i don't know what's actually special here. the prices are reasonable enough $7 for a sizable sandwich. around $3.75 for a slim one (half sandwich). other stuff looks pretty good. i would like to come back and try those some time. the staff is nice and very helpful. and they can get pretty rowdy. they were rapping and dancing behind the counter when i was there. i don't know how i feel about that. but they are doing their job well so i can't complain. wifi is available too. i didn't test it though. next time i go study in the library, i will swing by here again for lunch. it's probably the better option than what's around there.

The only reason that this isn't a 5 star review is because of the prices being too high for the product. More on that in a moment. Pret A Manger and I had a whirlwind across-the-pond restaurant romance while I visited London last year. I must have eaten there at least a dozen times and I loved everything about the place. So naturally, I was ecstatic that my lost English love was opening up shop in Boston. I have visited this location a number of times and have had great experiences each time. I complain about the beefed up prices but not too loudly. Here's why: I wholeheartedly support the way that they donate all unsold food to local shelters and soup kitchens, that they are mostly locally sourced, and that nutritional content is a company value. I will gladly pay for that to be rolled up into the cost of my wrap. Vegetarian and vegan options as well as organic choices are abound. The food itself is tasty and fresh. I'm a sucker for a good soup and salad and to be able to run in and grab both along with a good tea is stellar. Service is quick and friendly; they really seem to do well in hiring people who value good customer service. The atmosphere inside isn't cheap or wannabe posh. Rather it's cozy and efficient. It won't give you the idea that you're invited to write a novel there but it won't feel like you're being rushed out the door either. They've struck just the right balance for the quick bite/office lunch crowd. All in all, I will definitely be back. I hope to see a location in Cambridge soon!

Totally good for quick lunch grab. Service quick & super friendly. I'd go here 50x over down-the-street Panera - long lines, total blah. I had a tuna sandwich which was okay. Chocolate chip cookie however was. AMAZE. Great addition!

Delicious. I had a cheese sandwich (Brie with tomato and some pesto on a baguette) with an orange seltzer. The prices are very reasonable and perfect place to grab a bite and find a place to sit either in the store or right outside (e.g., on the steps of the Boston public library).

I once took a very brief trip to England, and there were a lot of sites that I regret that I missed. But there was one place I did visit that filled me with regret, and that was Pret A Manger. Regret that once I left, I didn't know if I'd ever see one again. So many delicious sandwiches and juices, so many options for my vegetarian other half, what were we going to do once we leave? Apparently the answer to that question was, "Wait 6 years." Gat damn, Pret, you took long enough to get here! We never stopped talking about this little chain of cafes, wishing they would open one in Boston. And now there are 2, and it's everything we remember! I'm an especially big fan of the Cheddar, Avocado with Spinach & Kale sandwich. The only thing we miss from their menu so long ago in London is one really good sparkling apple juice that they don't seem to have. But still! Delicious sandwiches! Tasty sparkling juices! Fresh and healthy ingredients! Right in the heart of Boston. It used to be that when we were in this area and looking for a quick bite to eat, it meant cycling through a number of options before finally landing on the one that would be good enough. Something tells me that in the future, with Pret in the area our list is going to be a lot shorter and take a lot less time to go through.

Pret, I love you. You are my caffeine fix on the way to work, and sandwich place when the weather is too yucky to stray far from work. And your chocolate croissants? DIVINE. Seriously. But for the love of tea drinkers EARL GREY IS NOT THE SAME AS ENGLISH BREAKFAST. Seriously, I love my english breakfast, I loathe Earl Grey. It's really bothersome when I get up to work and take a sip of my tea and cringe because it is NOT my beloved english breakfast. I suffer through my morning fix because I can't leave work to come back and get the correct tea. This is the second time it happened, the first I was willing to give you guys a do-over. Now I'm going to have to check my tea before I leave the store to make sure it's the right one, and not for nothing that is kind of ridiculous. I would give a 5-star, but this is just not cool. If you're out of english breakfast, just tell me. I'll pick a different tea. But let ME make that decision, don't do it for me because they're both black teas. They taste completely different. (P.S., the lady with the green hair has never messed up my tea, and she's awesome in general, so kudos to her.) :)

Quick grab-n-go kind of place. Sandwiches are good, just way too overpriced for what you get. I felt like I could've made the same sandwich at home. I do love the idea that all of their leftovers go to the homeless. I came a few weeks after the Copley square area location opened and found the service to be horrible. All of the staff seemed clueless, even after a few weeks of having a chance to get it together. I tried to order an iced tea, they said they didn't have any. How do you run out of ice tea?

The sandwiches are fabulous! I love the breakfast options too. I actually think the prices are fair comparatively speaking to everything else in the area. My only complaint is the schedule they use for certain items. I wish they sold the cream cheese, tomato and basil baguette on the weekends! I also often go there with a specific sandwich in mind and depending on the day, they may not have it. Staff is very friendly and very attentive.

Great food and a simple concept. There weren't a ton of quick-food type places in Back Bay so this is a great addition. What's not so good? The prices (it's definitely not cheap) and if you have a food allergy or want a sandwich without a certain ingredient (i.e. no onions) - they will not accommodate you. I asked and they were confused and actually pretty rude and said under no circumstances would they make a sandwich without certain ingredients. The chocolate chip cookies are out of hand. Even if you aren't hungry, or don't even like cookies, try them anyway. They are life-changing.

Great sandwiches and coffees. They use all natural ingredients and make everything fresh. I frequent this place a lot when in London. Now that they are in Boston, I am stoked.

I've definitely experienced better cafe style restaurants in the downtown Boston area (e.g. 'Thinking Cup') and was severely let down after having this place hyped up quite a bit by friends. I can see how it would be a nice option if you worked nearby and needed to grab something to eat, but it definitely wasn't worth the half-mile trip from my apartment on a cold Sunday. Upon entering the store, an employee jumped on us before I was even able to take anything in asking if I wanted a tour. I figured, "Sure" and went for it thinking maybe he would explain the menu. Nope. He simply recited what was already on their wall in giant wooden slabs--that all their food is organic and fresh and that they care about the homeless and give them their leftovers at the end of the day. [A little tangent: If you're using the 'charitableness' of your business as a cause for applause, you should be self-aware and realize that you're telling your customers that if they actually wanted to help the homeless then they shouldn't eat here in the last two hours of the business day so as to leave more for the shelters.] As for the ambience of the space, it was somewhat noisy. The seating is very limited and you might end up eating at a large communal table on tiny wooden stools. They'll offer a tiny silver tray for your food if you want one. It's a bit awkward to eat off of though if you're hoping not to get crumbs everywhere. As a tray, it worked well enough though. The food itself is only "okay" and noting to write home about. I had the 'Ham and Cheese with Mustard' sandwich. It tasted fine, but it is nothing you can't accomplish yourself with a trip to Whole Foods and a George Foreman Grill. There was very little meat in the sandwich, which made the predominate flavor burnt bread (since one side of the sandwich was blackened somehow) and rather dry. I also ordered the regular Hot Chocolate for around $2.80. It was probably an 8 oz cup and around 1/2 of it was foam. I know this because they give it to you with a sippy cup lid and the foam doesn't make it through and when I was finished I still had half a cup of foam. The hot chocolate itself isn't all that great. It's just steamed organic milk and chocolate powder mix, which was apparent as when i dug around the bottom of the leftover foam with a spoon, I pulled up clumps of non-mixed powder that had been stuck on the bottom of the cup. Side note: if you're wanting real hot chocolate I cannot recommend 'The Thinking Cup' enough as it is made with real chocolate.

I only came here because they were offering 1000 free meals to those who were willing to wait in the monstrous line; I was one of those stupid people. The food at Pret was so pretentious! Seriously, I honestly didn't even know what the drink was I attempted to sip. It was called something like "Yummy bunny yoga grape tea." Like, what does that even mean. The sandwich was very mediocre; slabs of avocado sandwiched between bread with a tiny amount of turkey. They also gave me a coupon for a free coffee and soup for the next time I visited. Well, I did visit again (because I love free stuff) but this time I brought my own lunch. I just couldn't deal with their prices AND the 10 fiends jamming their fingers on the cash register, attempting to take my money (but my soup was free!). In short, I just really didn't care for this restaurant. It's an overpriced lunch spot with "earth friendly food." If I was going to spend the same amount I'd head over to Panera for a much better meal.

Very nice clean brightly lit coffee shop. It is on the pricier side, but I do value a business that tries to be Eco-friendly and help the needy with donations. They post the good that they do on their walls so you can sip expensive coffee while reading it to feel good about yourself.

Fresh sandwiches, flakey tasty chocolate croissants and good coffee. Takes me back to the UK. Glad they opened here in Boston. Still being discovered by the locals so no long waits.

This was a great find on a day when I was tired from too much walking. The staff was fast, friendly, and cool. There were tasty vegan options in the food case, and the spot itself was bright and cheery. I was so glad I didn't settle for the nearby chains to eat.

I was working in the area and was told this place had great salads. Walked in and its super organized. All the food is to your right, you pick up what you want and go pay for it and sit in their seating area. I love the fact that they had half club sandwiches to purchase with a small bowl of soup. Their best sandwich is the chicken avocado! I've had several of their soups, lentil, butternut squash and vegetable, all of which are excellent and kept at a perfect temperature considering they are already boxed and on display. The place is super clean and what i like most is that they donate any food that isn't sold that day. This way you know you're getting fresh food. It's fast, easy and delicious!

Went here for lunch today with my wife. It was just OK. I really enjoyed my kale/spinach sandwich and the turkey chili was decent. Prices could be/should be $0.50-$1.00 less for the sandwiches. Staff was friendly. This place is basically like ABP with seemingly better ingredients and everything is made fresh daily. Appears to be "green" oriented too which I like. I'll be back when not in the mood for Boloco.

(score 1-100) - 49. This is the best place to go if you are on the go and don't want to wait in the typical lunch lines that you find in the city. Everything is pre-made and its the grab and go setup and pay at the cash register. I want to like this place since it's so close to my front door but I already gave it too many tries. The sandwiches are made toward the French palette, ie single tiny slivers of meat, tiny bits and pieces of mesclun, very thinly sliced veggies. There is no flavor, it's like eating a dinner roll. I've tried 4 or 5 so somebody out there might have found which sandwich is their bailiwick. The other gripe is the price point. The Sandwiches are small and they are still charging $7.99 Like I said, I wouldn't waste your time, not good value, only go if you are in a rush, you'll be super happy...super fast service and you'll be out the door... oh wait did you forget your sandwich?...., oh no, it's right there in your hand...almost like helium!

STATESIDE! So happy Pret A Manger is in Boston. Once a staple for lunching whilst I lived in London, I was sad to miss it's deep fill bacon sarnies and Christmas Lunch sandwiches. I would make an effort to go to one whenever I was in NYC, but yearned for one up here. They have AMAZING sandwiches that are healthy! Now only if they could bring over the Coronation Chicken Sandwich.

I love Pret! Doesn't matter what location I'm at, the food is good and the service is fast and friendly. I can always count on this place for fresh and healthy options.

Pros: Surprisingly decent coffee for self-serve style. Good bakery items and a nice variety on sandwiches. EZ in, EZ out. Con: the hyper helpfulness has died down thankfully. I don't like being assaulted when I walk in the door. Points well taken about the sandwich sizes. A little too much $$ for what you're getting.

I love Pret a Manger. It's quick and good. Sandwiches are made fresh daily and from fresh ingredients. The sandwiches are prepackaged so they're good to grab and go. It's just soooo good. I'm so excited there's a new sandwich place in the Back Bay area so there are more options and less crowded every where else. This place sure met my expectations cause I've been wanting to go to NY to try it out. There are other hot food and delicious looking pastries I have yet to try.

The bag of raw almonds I bought here was full of moths, which I discovered only after I had eaten them. Tried calling the shop four times to let them know, but no one answered. GROSS.

This is a decent spot to grab a sandwich in Copley. Sandwiches could definitely be a little bigger for what you are paying but you can tell that they are made with quality ingredients. Staff was helpful and friendly and it looks like there is plenty of space to eat in the restaurant. I would have to say this place doesn't compare to Viga in terms of getting what you pay for (if you are buying lunch everyday you have to consider this) and the fact that I am often hungry after eating their sandwiches. Overall, good ingredients and good sandwiches but you may leave hungry.

Although I consider it cruel on Pret's part to have opened 10 steps away from my gym, I have to tell you my post-gym lunches and snacks have never been better. What I love about Pret is that everything is fresh and ready to go as opposed to Panera across the street where the food is also fresh, but you have to wait and wait some more.

I've had sandwiches and pastries at Pret, and so far so good, with one exception. Today they handed me the most mangled blueberry muffin ever. I didn't notice because it was bagged up (I placed my order to-go), but when I got back to my desk and opened up the bag, I was kind of shocked to see how mangled this muffin was. It was like someone just smashed it together with their hands and then put it in a bag. I thought their customer service was better than this. Also, their queue system is a mess. They need more order in the checkout line. There can be such a thing as too many registers. The low rating is more to do with the experience/customer service than the food.

I was very unimpressed by this place. You walk in and order, you pick up your prepackaged food, you walk across the floor to get utensils, and you sit down to eat an unimpressive meal. I got a large cup of clam chowder that did not seem very large with some tiny bread for 5 dollars and change. The quality just was not there. It is definately edible, but for the price you expect better. Other than prepackaged soups, prepackaged sandwhiches, and coffee/tea, there is really nothing here. This is the store about nothing. I am not sure if I will be back.

I love coming to Pret. I work down the street, and Pret is an awesome place to grab a quick bite to go. The sandwhiches there is decent, not amazing, but decent. What I love about this place so much is that the employees are some of the friendliest people I interact with all day. There hasn't been a time that I went to Pret and had a bad experience. Everyone is there to lend a helping hand, but they also make me laugh. So if you're in a bad mood and need some good food... head on to Pret and you'll leave with a sammich and a smile!

Had the spinach, cheddar and avocado sandwich - everything tasted so fresh and good-for-you but in a yummylicious way! Nice area for working, used the wifi for a couple of hours with no problem. The menu looks more varied than panera, and I love the emphasis on daily freshness. Will be coming here again!

I really enjoyed my lunch here. I ran in and grabbed the slim vietnamese baguette and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very fresh and the sandwich wasn't soggy, even though I could just grab it from the cooler and go. It took me, start to finish, about three minutes to select something and pay at the register. It's a little chaotic at the front counter but it wasn't too bad! I would give five stars (what a nice alternative to Panera) but the chaos with the payment process was a little overwhelming. I am sure once they are open longer and people here understand where to go when, it will be much better! The food is DELICIOUS! I also LOVE that this place donates the food at the end of the night to local charities rather than reselling the next day.

First off..tip to the Pret employees...someone needs to add "vegan" and "vegetarian" to your yelp account categories. and do some advertising so people can find you. ( happycow.net is a good website too) I was visiting Boston for the week for a work conference and tried to find a vegan restaurant nearby but couldn't find anything online. So I just went wandering around and stumbled upon this place. I guess veganism is not that popular out here. Anyways I've eaten there every day now! so thankful I found it. The food is good (some of it is good but just average) like the vegan wraps. The soup is amazing though..have tried 4 different flavors now. It is a little pricey but if you want healthy food made fresh every day where you know the actual ingredients in it or especially if you want vegan options then it's worth the money. (they do have meat too for meat lovers) Plus at the end of every day they give away any food that doesn't sell to the hungry. That also makes paying a little more worth it to me. It's a cool place, nice decor and vibe. I recommend!

Love love love this place! A newcomer to Boston, I'd missed the buzz when it opened & was luckily enough to happen in while in town shopping. Healthy, tasty fast food--what a concept. And why isn't this everywhere? Yes, it's a bit pricey, but honestly, for what you get? It's soooooo worth it.

Meh.I was really hyped over this place for a while so finally decided to try it out. I wasnt too impressed by the selection of sandwiches in the to-go section, but went for the California Club. Again not that impressed, it was kind of bland and soggy. But I'm willing to give Pret the benefit of the doubt and go back for a different kind of sandwich or maybe a salad. Also pretty shotty service from the chick with blue hair at the register. BUT props on the chocolate chip cookies, they are pretty amazing.

Big selection of sandwiches and other goodies to choose from, coffees and lattes are also very delicious. Everything seems very fresh, so that's a plus. They offer vegan and vegetarian options, if that's your thing. Their prices are reasonable. The store itself is very spacious, bright, and clean. The best part is the outdoor seating, I'm a sucker for places like that. The workers weren't too friendly though...oh well. My personal favorite is their iced chai latte, yum. Also, they're opening another Pret further up the street closer to Hynes/in front of Prudential Mall, yay.

I was excited to hear Pret was opening stores in Boston, having experienced them before in the UK. After getting over their initial hurdles with service when first opening, I was very impressed with the quality of the soups and the sandwiches and their many vegan and veggie options. However my last 3 visits have shown that they can't maintain this quality or decent service - that's not to say they don't have a couple of great staff, but if they aren't working, you'll stand around waiting to be served while the staff complain about each other (or are just completely absent), despite staff not having anything to do they wont have any clean trays for you - I've been given dirty trays on two occasions, then on top of the dirty trays the sandwiches have been stale on three occasions. This is disappointing considering they expect you to pay a premium price for very small servings.

What a great place for this location. The sandwiches are so tasty. We tried two sandwiches, balsamic chicken with avocado and chicken/bacon. Loved the balsamic chicken avocado one. Can't wait to go back to try the other sandwiches. Very fast and convenient!
