Excellent Popeye's location. I would say it is the best of the four in the Boston area I've visited. I have unfortunately never been to the Brookline location, but can say that this one is the cleanest and has the most consistent service. The food has always been fresh, the service quick, and no problems ever. Best Popeye's in Boston

The food is ok here. I love the Popeye's by Fenway and I thought all of the locations would be like that but I was wrong. The atmosphere is just weird. I can't pinpoint it but I always want to hurry to get my food and leave. I know the staff has to interact with the customers in a friendly way but it almost always seems forced. The food is ok depending on when you come. Today, I had chicken wings and mashed potatoes and it was very good. The chicken was crispy like it should be and they didn't forget the biscuit!

Oh boy. Well, Popeye's finally came to the 'hood. Yes, indeedy folks, the Mall of Roxbury, or Washington Park Mall, depending upon who you ask, has a brand new, fresh, crisp, large, clean, Popeye's! Plenty of cheerful staff and managers to assist you, long lines, but they move at the speed of light, the dining area is spotless and even has a stationed attendant (!), everything is great, except one key thing: the FOOD is HORRID. Well, correction, everything EXCEPT the chicken, which I guess is good, right? So, my advice, at least for this particular location is JUST get chicken, biscuits, jalapenos, fried apple pies dusted in cinnamon and sugar (heaven!), and a gallon of the scrumptious deliciousness called sweet tea. McDonald's should take note, THIS is SOUTHERN BREWED sweet tea. STAY AWAY from any sides: the cajun rice is embarrassingly bad, no seasoning, bland, just gross, the macaroni and cheese is worse than a no-name box brand (besides Popeye's back home, down South, doesn't serve mac&cheese, so skip that), the cole slaw was warm and crunchy, and the fries- ugh. They do have REALLY good FRIED apple pies, BETTER than the ones McDonald's USED to have. Treat yourself to one. So, there you have it. Popeye's in Roxbury, and from the looks of things, they will not be going out of business anytime soon, and I'm sure the franchise owners wonder why they waited so long to open this goldmine!

I've always loved Popeye's and this place is poppin. Service is ok. They can only do so much with how many people come in there a day.

I'm not going to waste time on actually reviewing the food here. I think most reasonable people know who's the champ when it comes to fried chicken and biscuits... and it's not the colonel! Thus, I'll spend a little time on the service and the menu. This location has what it calls the Roxbury special, which includes the regular two piece chicken meal with a biscuit for under $4. That's a sweet deal. The service here can be fast. I've seen it both ways. Try to avoid the after church rush on Sundays (1/1:30).. it's a circus in there.

Chicken is delicious....Sides Meh! ,,,sweet tea is diabetes in a cup... But damn it was sweet and good,,Buiscuits yummy..To sum it all up its a chain and just like the rest the same thing 4 stars for chicken and buiscuits

This Popeyes is pretty good. The food was pretty good. The old guy who gave us our food put a bunch of orders in front of mine.
