This is the only place in the Fort Point Area where you can get birthday cards and razors, a six-pack of beer and a bottle of wine all in one go. Random, I know. But I think a place like this is needed every few blocks. I had a last minute birthday lunch to plan and I don't know what I would have done without this place. I bet everyone knew this convenience store is linked to the cafe on Congress, but what they didn't know is that if you order catering from the cafe, you can request that the convenience store deliver alcohol to the cafe which will deliver it to you! Awesome. So thanks, Metro Convenience, for existing and providing me with the tools to get buzzed at 12pm on a weekday at work.

Glorified 7-11 at best. I hate the days that I am in my office (3 floors above this place) and have absolutely no cash on me. This place charges me $2.50 for a poptart and a can of diet coke that I could have easily gotten from my vending machine for a $1.40. It may be convenient to have it on this side of the Channel where there's nothing around but they know this and try to gouge you for every nickle and penny they can. Deli counter is mediocre and runs out of stuff waaay to fast. When it's raining I don't feel like running over to the BIG Metro, damn it. Props though for having beer and wine AND 40's. God forbid that I have to go to dinner at a friends house and don't have time to stop I can just quickly run in here. Also good for carrying toiletry items, just in case my work ever decides to frown upon the "3 days with out shaving" look.

Metro is awesome. a. It's the only place around the area where I work where you can pick up tampons, beer, a deli sandwich, cigarettes and a birthday card in one trip. b. The cashiers are super fast c. The deli people are super fast. And have a great chicken walnut salad d. It's not really expensive at all. Especially around this area. If you want something light, grab a $2.95 half sandwich. I don't know why someone said $2.40 for a can of coke and a package of pop-tarts are expensive. I mean, it's not 1995 anymore. e. Clean and not cluttered like a lot of other convenience stores in Boston

If you work in the South Boston area and are looking for an alternative to Dunkin' Donuts' inconsistent coffee, you must stop by what I (and my co-workers) have dubbed "Mini-Metro" (there's a larger Metro a block away on Congress Street). Not only is their coffee good, they keep their check-out lines moving quickly, they have soups, salads and sandwiches at lunch time, as well as a great assortment of snacks AND beer and wine.

Went to the post office across the street and decided to step in here for a little pick me up. The cashier seemed to think I was the bane of her existence and didn't even want to acknowledge me, let alone look at me. Sorry princess! I won't be coming back to your store anymore, apologies my leige.

Merely as a convenience store this place is way overpriced, small and somewhat frustrating. $2 for a yogurt is crazy (or maybe I am just not with the times??). I'll just go hungry in the future.

Convenient indeed! I love how much of a variety this little store has...nice little deli, fresh wraps and sandwiches, fruit, soda, great variety of snacks, wine, etc. I often stop by for a pre-made wrap--for $5.50 they are pretty big and quite tasteful. I like the oriental chicken and can usually only eat half. The deli in the back is a great option too. The staff are always friendly as well, but the snacks and soda are a bit pricey for a convenience store. =( Oh, and the giant cookies right at the register--those are among the best pre-packaged cookies!!

The blueberry muffins are great but you have to get there early, if you're there before 9am you should be good

This place is fine. Not outstanding, but certainly not bad. My sandwich had lots of tasty turkey, but the bread was a little sad and small. I can get a 5$ foot long at subway, but a normal bread sized sandwich here for 5.65? Odd. Depressing. But, I'm in Boston, so finding lunch for under 10$ is rare, so Metro is good for that, and if you're short on time but want actual food.

I often visit this Metro for lunch, as it is convenient and fast (!) The quality of the subs leaves something to be desired; if you are not in a hurry I would recommend going to Sportello's or Flour instead, where you can get a great sandwich for only about $2 more. (or even better - go to the Food Trucks at Dewey Square and buy a bonh mi for even less) If you are in the mood for a salad I would recommend going to the Metro on Congress St.

This is a great little convenience store. They sell lottery tickets, coffee, all kinds of those bars that yuppies like to eat, there's a small sandwich counter in the back, oh and BEER! You can get beer and wine here! Nothing fancy - just the regular smattering of bud-ish stuff and Sam Adams. I think it's the law in Boston to sell Sam Adams beer if you sell beer. Not much wine - again a small selection but the fact that they HAVE it for sale is awesome. It's a small, clean, neat store. The guys that work there are friendly too. I approve. FYI: It is no longer called "A&R Food Service" - it's now "Metro Convenience". Check out the pics, yo!
