This was my first time at Halftime Pizza. My friends and I walked around the area for about a half hour looking for a bite to eat before heading over the to the garden. Everywhere we went was at least a half hour wait which we really didn't have time for, so when we saw this place we jumped on it. It was very busy inside, but things moved very quickly, and there didn't seem to be a lack of seats. I thought it was your average pizza joint with GREAT pizza! I think the prices were very reasonable, we paid $32 for a large pepperoni pizza, 4 drinks, and a mikes hard lemonade. That is cheap in my book. I will definitely be visiting them again.

Nice people. Pizza poor. Probably great when drinking and going to theTD Garden but I was sober and the pizza was a little not tasty, did not finish

had a recent visit here with the boyfriend. i'd issue a lower rating, but that's just based on my preferences, which are not the fault of this establishment. they make what they make, and i wouldn't expect to be catered to here. i think for the majority of people- this place is probably a winner. we'd walked about a million (okay- 6) miles that day, and were awaiting a performance of the circus at TD Garden. in desperate need of seats and food, we settled on this spot, which is literally directly across the street. while there are sandwiches and salads on the menu, this place is known for its pizza. the boyfriend went with 2 slices of pepperoni, i had 2 slices of cheese. now, i'm used to ordering slices. usually, when i do, those slices go into the oven for a "refresher" cooking. not these. off the tin, and on to your tray. the good news is, this place is busy enough that your pie is largely fresh. the bad news? greasy as all get-out. for my two slices, i used 12 napkins- all of which were saturated. i was ready to leave at that point, but after spending the money, decided to screw it and start eating sensibly another day. if you're not health conscious, and you're in the mood for fast and tasty enough, you'll be happy. beers come in 16 and 32 oz. portions, for way cheaper than you can get at TD Garden. my advice is to come here first, and then head over for your event. and, hey- i guess if you've walked 6 miles first, the calorie count can't be too bad...

I have been twice both after Bruins' games. Slices are big and I really enjoyed the flavor. I will go back for sure.

So, I have been coming here for years. It's a great alternative to spending money at the garden. You come here for the beer. The beer selection is good and cheap. The pizza mediocre at best. I feel like they put as little of sauce and cheese to make a pizza. Gamedays, there are literally no seats, people are eating their meals on the trash cans., Cheap beer, but you will not find a table before.

Crispy Delicious Pizza! This past weekend, my husband was hungry late night (after a Celtics game and a few drinks in the area), so we stopped at halftime pizza on the way home. The place is nothing fancy, just your traditional quick grab and go (or stay) pizza place. However, I wanted to give them a shout out on yelp, because when I took a bite of my husband's pizza I was very impressed with how flavorful and crispy it was! I also was impressed that the size of the slices were generous (they cut 6 slices to the pie when you order it by the slice). Price wise, the place was reasonable, we paid under $9 for two big slices (one cheese, one pepperoni) and a bottle of water. I would definitely recommend this place for a tasty and crispy slice of pizza before or after a game. I would imagine they get pretty crowded before games and at dinner time, but when we went it was almost empty.

  • Steven P.

Great thin crest pizza and decent cheese. A good place to stop before heading over to the Garden for a game or concert. Beer prices are good also.

    (4)
  • Lauren M.

No thrills or frills. If you want a nice large slice before or after a game, you go here. As native New Jersey kids, we know a good slice, and this place has them.

    (4)
  • South E.

I've been coming here for a long time, be it before a game or for lunch I'd recommend it for either. Their slice is good, always a safe bet and the beer is very reasonable. Its crowded at before evens, but what isn't around the area at that time, they move you quickly and efficiently with out any significant sacrifices to quality.

    (4)
  • Darren F.

Sorry Yelpers and sports fans, but close proximity to the Garden doesn't equal quality. I think this is one of those places almost everyone in Boston has been to. It's dirty and crowded and you move in conveyor belt fashion towards your subpar and overpriced slice. The staff is stereotypical Bostonian "dude guys" and couldn't care less about quality, just speed. You know what you're in for going in, a quick pizza and beer fix for the unwashed Boston sports masses. I'd far rather find a decent place somewhere anytime I'm in the city with so many options, but they do what they do well. It's just that what they do sucks. Proof positive that location is everything.

    (2)
  • Marisol V.

First off the pizza is over priced and not good at all..very limited on there drinks...who doesn't have ginger ale these days! Never again!

  • Jaclyn P.

I actually like the pizza here. We came on a Friday night before heading to the Garden. Two slices for me were nice and hot. Simple sauce, cheese and a toasty crust. The ziti with meatballs for my husband weren't that bad. All in all, affordable, plenty of seating and clean bathrooms. In Boston, all of those traits can be rare.

    (4)
  • Josh C.

Amazing pizza. I recommend going here before a game instead of buying TD Garden food. This is cheaper and better (except Legends is really good but is much more upscale.) This has a real Boston sports atmosphere that you can't get anywhere else except Boston. The food is so good and is cheap too. Must visit if in the area.

    (5)
  • Michael M.

I've been coming to Halftime since I was a little kid, the place is an institution and a must go before any event at the Garden. I've always enjoyed the pictures on the ceilings, brings back a lot of memories of Boston sports. The pizza is great; greasy but too much and the slices are a really good size as well. The atmosphere at times can be a little tense as some of the staff can give off the vibe of wanting verbal confrontations with customers.

    (4)
  • Todd D.

The pizzas good guys are friendly and they gave me a free extra slice I will go back when in Boston

    (5)
  • Imran G.

I'm guessing TD Garden prices are just plain insane, and that probably explains why a slice of plain cheese costs $3 here. But make no mistake, its a darn good price, and it probably beats the prices inside the garden. Naturally then, everyone gets out at half-time or intermission. If you want a New York style slice in Boston grab one from here. When its hot and fresh its quite appetizing and for Boston standards its quite good.

    (4)
  • Mike T.

Staff is rude...and pizza is mediocre. What makes this place is bad is 7 bucks for a draft beer in a plastic cup really? That is the same price they charge for beer in the garden. Place is crowded and noisy...and good luck trying to find a seat in this place .staff is all about the green here...and no I am not talkin about Celtic pride.

    (2)
  • Rebecca D.

Came here before a Celtics game along with a crowd of other green fans. Started with one slice of cheese and it was so good when up for another service was fast and the food was good 3 bucks for a slice. Bathrooms are small and there is always a crowd it seems before a game but overall a really good place to grab a bite before going into the garden

    (4)
  • Brian D.

I came here for lunch the other day after walking by this place for many years and not EVER wanting to go inside and try it out. I finally did and I was SHOCKED at how decent the pizza was here. I mean, don't expect 5 star stuff, but overall I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of pizza. To me, it reminds me of Nino's over on Charles St, except possibly a bit better. Cheese slices for 2.25, not bad. Always freshly made and they also serve beer which is kind of cool in its own way. Now that I've been to this spot, I might start hitting it hard before Bruins games, so I don't spend my life fortune for food in the Garden. Lots of space inside also was a real surprise.

    (3)
  • Hodor Z.

Incredibly, incredibly rude. I don't even care if their pizza is good. They are on a completely different level of rude. And they touch your pizza with their bare hands. This place needs a visit from Health Department.

    (1)
  • Johnny M.

I love this place except it seems it's never open when I need it to be. The lady that takes control of things is very nice. Maybe she owns the place or is a manager. The men that work here are strange and rude. They act like they don't care. Love the pizza. Hate the hours and the staff. I am the customer. Dudes I am doing you a favor by coming to your place so you get paid. Your shifty attitude is doing nothing for me. Long time customer and will still keep coming. Lady in charge, make changes or start a new place without these rude folk.

    (5)
  • Jeff K.

While I visit here often I like the pizza but feel the men behind the counter really are hardened assholes. Maybe it's cause I think they are all imported from some foreign country and shouldn't be here cause they are illegal but they are Italian posers and just are plain old rude! The funny thing is the women here are great and the complete opposite of the men. The women are authentic! The pizza is ok, not as good as Regina or even Ernesto's but it's ok pizza. The place is clean and large and the male employees are just rude. If you have time it's worth it to go into the North End for better.

    (3)
  • Debra L.

Visually, this pizza appeals to me. A nice sized slice of thin crust, NY style pizza. Texturally (yes, it's a word. I checked), this pizza appeals to me. Thin crust yet still chewy. Not oily or soggy. All positives. Taste-wise, this pizza is lacking. The tomato sauce has no flavor. I don't even think there's any salt in it. And the cheese, though it melts nicely and gets bubbly, is also virtually flavorless. If doused in salt & crushed red pepper, a slice of this pizza can be mildly satisfying.

Two words: wicked awesome. I've walked past this place dozens of times, and never stopped in. Today, I have realized everything I've been missing out on. My friend and I were wanting some game day food before going to the Bruins game, and with a 30 minute wait at all the sports bars down the street, that wasn't going to happen. We just so happened to pass this place again, and decided to stop in. There was a staff member directing traffic through the shop; this place was PACKED. If he hadn't been there directing us to the less crowded back area, we never would have known where to go. Once there, our wait in line was surprisingly short for the volume of people entering and finagling their way through the aisles with their food and brews. We were greeted by a very friendly cashier, and our food and drinks were up within 1 minute of ordering. We managed to secure prime real estate (a booth), and ended up sharing with a group of strangers. I digress, but we made some new friends and heard a bunch of hilarious stories. Thanks Halftime for bringing us together! The food itself is a great value for the price. For around $3 and some change, I got a generous slice of pepperoni pizza, , and my friend got her slice of cheese for a little less. We both ordered a beer as well. My Coors Light (20 ounce) was only $5.25, and her Blue Moon (20 ounce) was $6.25. Try getting beer that cheap in the Garden, you won't find t! We ended up ordering another slice each, and the staff offered another slice on the house for mine being smaller than normal. We left full and happy, and our wallets were happy too. The food quality was good as well. For a shop catering to the game day rush, the turnout of their food was quick, and we both got fresh slices. The crust was not too thin or thick, and it was quite delicious. They didn't skimp on the toppings either, and the cheese wasn't rubbery or waterlogged with grease. My stomach approves of this place, and will definitely be making trip number two as soon as possible.

Came here for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat before the Lakers VS Celtics game since it's right across the street from TD Garden (the lakers won btw) Very convenient. Not so welcomed by two older gentlemen who seemed a bit bothered at the fact that we didn't know what we wanted to order right away. I'm not too sure if it was our Laker gear but whatever! Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and two cokes. $28. Not too bad. Pizza was greasy but what was I expecting? Convenient and inexpensive. I guess I got what I paid for!

  • Adamson T.

With the hottest location on the street (across from the garden) this place sucks. Serving up cheap flat crap oil pizza, reheated again and again. The staff cares little about doing business and could care less to clean up. $3.50 for a slice of $hi! no thanks bro.

Great pizza and cold beer! Usually standing room only. Hockey fights play in loop before B's games!

Was skeptical about going because I had read some stinky reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. Pizza was a little expensive but so is Papa Gino's. The staff was very pleasant and the place was clean. The pizza was decent - not incredible but decent. I would go back!

Horrible experience! I went here this past weekend and was disappointed they only had cheese and pepperoni slices. My boyfriend and I ordered a bbq chicken pizza around 6:15pm. The place was busy so we figured it would be a little while. After a half hour my boyfriend asked kindly how much longer the wait would be and the staff was extremely rude and said, "There is a lot going on right now I don't know! Just wait they will call it when it's ready." My boyfriend went up again at 7:00pm and explained we had an event to go to at 8:00pm and just wanted to know how much longer the pizza would be. The same staff person said, "They will announce it when it's done". Finally at 7:20pm I went up to the man working the cashier who seemed to be a management figure and explained to him we had been waiting for over an hour for our pizza. He turned away from me to speak with the cooks and no one seemed to know where the pizza was. He tried to brush me off and say it was coming but I was already done waiting. I asked if they had even put the pizza in and he said no but he just told them to put it in. I requested I have my money back and that I did not want the pizza anymore. I also asked if I could just have 2 slices of pizza to go and he gave me a whole pepperoni pizza for free. I do appreciate that he did that, but the pizza actuallu tasted horrible. I will never go back here.

I truly enjoy going to Bruins games just so I can get a slice of this pizza and a Huuuuuuugggggeeee brewskee (buddy)! They are really inexpensive, quick, and awesome. Many times you wont find a place to sit if a game is about to start, but you can stand around with your brew or sit with some strangers... people really ARE friendly in Boston (especially Bruins fans). They have interesting soda there too, it's some no-name brand, but the yummiest lemonade I have ever had. Delish!

My group and I went in only to kill some time, but after walking in and smelling the pizzas in the oven, it was hard to resist ordering one ourselves. We got a whole pizza, and agreed upon bacon, ham and pineapple. The pizza was tremendously large, a little skimpy on the cheese, but it made up for it on the toppings. The pineapple was delicious, as was the ham, but the bacon was miraculous. Instead of bacon slices, they used full length slices which made it all the more epic. The pizza was very good, and satisfying and I definitely would recommend it to anyone. I quite liked the atmosphere, especially the friendly cashier who gave us a free drink. They made sure that we had everything we needed.

Stopped by here on a weekday around noontime to grab some food and I have to say that the food was alright and not much to brag about. However, I think I just really appreciated the ambiance of the place. Halftime Pizza, with its dated furniture and murals is an ode to the old school boston sports fan. If you're an 80s baby like me who grew up listening to your parents stories of Celtics greatness, you'll really understand what I mean. The only thing that would make this place great for me is if I were here watching a Celtics game and it was 1986.

Great place!! Went here before a Bruin's game. Love that they have constant hockey fights on their TV'S!! We went with the Garlic/Buffalo chicken pizza. It's was good. Also a a good size beer. Overall, place is cool. It's good for a quick bite to eat and a couple of beers before an event at the Garden!

I used to eat her ein the early 90's when I went to Bruins games at the old Garden. Visited there recently to reminisce. The pizza is the closest thing Boston has to New York style. It's consistently good, even 20 years later.

I've had a lot of 1star experiences here so it almost pains me to give this place 3 stars. But sometimes I feel like they deserve 5 stars. IT IS VERY HIT-OR-MISS! I've been coming here for about a decade (remember when they put the take-out into Burger King bags?) Sometimes they give you giant slices, so the cost is reasonable. At other times, it is average sizes leaving me with the sad feeling that the pizza is over-priced. Sometimes the staff is agitated that you're there. (Again, this is hit-or-miss; Sometimes they're very friendly). Key location across from the Garden. Decent sandwich menu.

    (3)
  • Mateo B.

With its appalling food options and presentation, Halftime Pizza is little more than a standard run pizza joint that makes good on little else than being located across the street from the TD Garden. The pizza is a hack-eyed pie, showing as little effort and creativity as any small town joint. I also ordered a sandwich, redeeming me only in finding possibly the worst sandwich in Boston proper. The staff are cattle herders, waiting to get off their shifts. Its packed quarters before games find many standing and eating, blocking walkways and eating atop the trash cans. I will review this, and all restaurants as poor as this, with scathing bite. It's sad that such a great location is wasted on such a mediocre eatery.

    (1)
  • Steve m.

Not bad, but not great. Think the pizza could use a bit more sauce, otherwise it's more salty than anything else.

    (3)
  • JJ P.

This place is barely decent if you don't have tastebuds, are desperate for a slice of cheese pizza and every other pizza place in a ten mile radius as been annihilated. If none of the things mentioned in the previous sentence are true, avoid this place like back to the future three.

    (1)
  • Chelsea R.

love love love this place! I'm a traditional pepperoni girl and it's by far in my top five favorite. I lived in New York and New Jersey for years and this puts many of those joints to shame.

I was in town for business and a co-worker took me there for lunch. I had the Game Winner aka eggplant parm on a hero. It was excellent. Bread was fresh and the eggplant was cooked to perfection. The cheese on top which might have been provolone added a great ending to it. I would go back in a second. If I was in town for an event at da garden, I would go here and have a couple of cold ones and dinner before.

I always tell people, if I could change one thing about Boston, I'd switch locations of Fenway Park with the TD BankNorth Garden. When I go to a Bruins/Celtics game, I go for the cheap, drunk route. Immature? perhaps. Yah-Dude-esque? No doubt. However, let's be honest; When you're paying the prices we do to get to a game, you optimize the experience as best you can. I love walking out of the North Station T-Stop, across the street to Sully's, drinking my way through the other end, out the door and turn right. Into Halftime Pizza. I can't remember if the workers are mean or rude; I'm usually sporting a pretty good buzz. They sell 22 ounce beers with your pizza, and both are a lot cheaper than you'd pay inside the Garden. Wolf down a couple slices with a couple tall beers, and you'll save yourself a ton of money inside the Garden. After the game, the buzz lightens up, you retrace your steps. If Fenway had this set up, life would be perfect.

  • Marlarissa M.

The pizza is nothing special and is served lukewarm, but it is just too convenient to pass up dough/cheese and a draft beer on the way to the Garden.

  • Kyle R.

You go here for the atmosphere. Awesome spot before any home B' or C's game. Pizza is pretty good. nothing to write home about but if you are going to the garden in the condition I am, it tastes pretty damn good. Great spot to grab a pitcher and slice before catching a game

  • Debbie M.

Big thanks to my brother in law for telling us about 1/2 Time Pizza. You can't get closer to the Garden and we stop here for a quick bite before a Bruins or Celtics game. Large pizza's, reasonably priced, it's always crowded so finding enough seating can be a challenge. We've never had to wait long for a pizza and usually just buy one that's fresh out of the oven. Living out of state, I really appreciate this place and the convenience.

  • Matthew K.

This place is a wicked pissah, the pizza is great, the crust is just the right amount of thickness, the sauce reminds me of Dipietro's in Malden, and the atmosphere is good ol' Boston classic cheese. It even has a mural in the place with Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant! Definitely coming back!

  • MARK M.

This is not new york style pizza. This is Boston Style Pizza. It is in a good location for a quick pizza but it is not the best pizza I ever had. Good for kids though.

Went here for dinner before Dispatch and got a large pizza because pizza is the best. This was the most disgusting pizza I have ever eaten...the sauce tasted like Spaghetti-Os...had a couple bites and then gave up and sipped the generic soda. :/ My fiancee who demolishes ALL food items and then some had one piece and then threw the rest of the pizza out. Never in my life did I think I would witness him throw out food. So disappointed. I never knew you could mess up a cheese pizza that bad.

  • Lys W.

I stopped in here during my lunch break. Definitely sketch, and the owners were kinda rude, but the pizza was good and it was quick! It did the trick, although, I won't be going out of my way to get a slice! No gnats.

Had a lot of time to kill before a concert earlier this week, so a friend and I decided to eat here as it's super conveniently located right across the street from The Garden. She said that it was a great place... I beg to differ. I mean, it wasn't BAD, but it sure wasn't great. The place itself is cool - very sporty (as one would guess from the name). I ordered my pizza and a drink (side note: all of the names of the fountain drinks were covered up with generic names, which I found weird. Therefore, instead of ordering Sprite/7-Up, I had to order "Pep Up".) and sat down. I got two slices of cheese, which were huge. I was pleased. However, I was NOT pleased that despite being thrown into the oven for all of ten seconds, the slices were lukewarm and also extremely greasy. Even after sopping up what I could with napkins, there was still loads and loads of grease on my slices. I still ate them as they were tasty, but they made me feel a bit ill. I went to the bathroom (which was FOUL! - I can't even begin to imagine what the guy's room looked like) and then my friend and I sat there for a bit because, as I said before, we had time to kill. Around the place they have flat screen TVs of all different sizes. A talk show came on with a rather sexual subject matter and instead of it being changed, it was left on. There was a guy sitting at a table up front - I assume he was a friend of the guys who worked there. However, he started loudly saying some pretty lewd stuff. What the guy behind the counter said back to him is actually too inappropriate for me to post here, but rest assured it was disgusting and WAY too much information. My friend and I just looked at each other in shock and then left shortly after. I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid this place, but I definitely wouldn't willingly and enthusiastically go back.

  • Jeremy K.

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars but that's impossible and because I am of a generous nature 4 stars will have to do. The only reason I like this place is because it has become a tradition for me and my friend Dave to hit this place up for a slice of pizza and a beer before we had to Bruins or Celtics game at the TD Banknorth Garden which is across the street from this joint. And because we go to many, many, many games, I end up in this place multiple times per month. The atmosphere isn't the greatest although it does feel very... classic. Think of what a dive kind of bar is and give it a pizza joint twist and you'll end up with this place. Nothing can really describe it. The staff isn't friendly at all, which is typical of a such a place, especially in Boston and their pizza has nothing special, but their convenience and seating makes up for it. And they have beer. This place beats buying $7 pizza in the TD Banknorth so if you want to save money and grab a quick slice then this is the place to go to.

Quick, easy, cheap, and still good pizza. (chewy but thin crust, delicious sauce, not overly greasy.) You can get slice by slice of cheese pizza right after you order, and get in and out quick, or wait a short time for the many options of pizza, pasta, subs, and salads. Much better than the alternatives inside the garden--- much cheaper and actually better quality in my opinion.

  • Scott J.

If you need a quick meal before a game, concert, or you just find yourself in the North Station area and don't want McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, or to eat in a bar, Halftime Pizza is your savior. The pizza's pretty standard -- it's not terrible, but it's not the best you'll find in the greater Boston area. The positives: - It's a quick operation; you get your food really fast, even when there are crowds, courtesy of dual-counter technology :) - It's cheap and that says a lot, considering it's right across the street from The Garden - It enhances the experience of going to events, since you're not overpaying for fast food and you'll probably remember your time at Halftime Getting a seat can be difficult, so go in with the expectation that you might luck out.

DON'T ORDER THE RAVIOLI! I repeat, DON'T order the Ravioli. I work near here, and was sick of pizza so I went for the ravioli. It was tasty, and hit the spot. Instead of making you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside as all italian food should, it makes you feel like burning and sadness. Not fun. Not even a little. I've had the pizza and it is tasty. Stick to the pizza, stick to the pizza, stick to the pizza. If you don't, your insides will feel like despair.

Ate here twice, got two different things (sub and pizza), and didn't feel good after eating either. Now just walking past the place and the smell makes me feel bad. I don't know what it is.

The Pizza is great, large slices which are greasy and thin. I don't recall the prices but I don't remember it being ridiculous. The location also makes this place great for stopping in about a half an hour before a Celtics game or Concert at the garden. Here's a few other points because I don't feel like writing any more sentences. -Coke Products -Sports Center is on multiple Tv's -It is packed when there's a game and seating can be difficult to find -Average variety of Pizzas -Tiny restroom -Quick service served hot -Sports memorabilia on the walls

This place makes delicious, big, New York-style slices of pizza at reasonable prices (considering how close you are to the Garden). They sell beer, and they have quick, efficient service that mows through the line quickly even when the place gets jam-packed. You've got to love Halftime. The only downside is that the men's room is really small and disgusting. I've heard the same about the ladies room. If you're going to an event at the Garden and don't have time for a 30-40 minute wait at Hurricanes, The Four's, or Beer Works, stop in to Halftime and get a few slices.

    (4)
  • Mike W.

Being located right across from the TD Garden, this place is awesome for a fast pre or post game slice & a beer... and when I say beer, I'm talking a 24oz Molson for a couple bucks. That and two huge slices (almost half a large pizza sized) and you'll be fed and feeling nice for about $6. Can't beat it. There's always a line on a game night, but they move you right trough pretty quick.

Great system before games. Plenty of seats. Awesome food. I have been going here for years and I can honestly say it is my favorite pizza place. The pizza is thin but the slices are big and reasonably priced. Add some garlic powder and it makes it even better.

This is usually where we wind up before an event at the Garden. It's easy, convenient and the pizza is yummy. The best part about this place before a game is that the service is always quick and if you need to be you can be in and out. The place is definitely a sports bar with a TV broadcasting ESPN or other related sports show on. It's definitely an easy pizza fix before the game especially when the rest of the area can be a pretty long wait on those nights. I have had the best luck when as a group someone orders and the rest of the group scouts out seating. They are also mobbed after the game. If you want a relaxing night here it's best to go on nights when there isn't a game across the street.

This is a great place to get pizza. Big slices at reasonable prices. It is even better that you can get beer here to. Plenty of seating and video games for the kid or adult. One of the best places in Boston.

Expensive pizza that really isn't all that good. If you come here on a Celtics/Bruins game day/night prepare for massive lines and a neverending search for a table or place to stand. Pizza is like $2.50-2.75 a slice and sucks. The draft beer is the only decent thing about this place. If it wasn't for it's location it would probably go out of buisness. Take your money and hit up The Fours or Hurricane O'Riley's.

The pizza was edible. Definitely not the greatest pizza I have ever experienced. They took the title "thin" crust to a whole different level. The whole pizza was very thin. I like to have some substance when I bite into a slice and this pizza lacked that. It was also very greasy. Due to the thinness, two slices of pepperoni only filled my left toe. It would have probably taken a whole pizza to get me full, and clogged my arteries at the same time. If you do make a stop here before going to see the big 3, I found out a little trick to beat the line out the door. Theres a chance I may have cut about 50 people, but I don't think so. If you walk into this place, past the hungry people, there are a few more registers inside that people don't realize. The line is all waiting for one register, and if you are sneaky like a fox, you may find these hidden expressways to greaseville. Good luck and god speed...

Great quick bite for good prices before a Celtics game. Long lines moves quickly. Only problem is more often than not you are eating standing up.

Place is disgusting. I'm talking about the Halftime pizza adjacent to Friend Street. The place is filled with little gnats that, when they smell your pizza will totally annoy you to the point of wanting to break something. I even sat some place else and the damn gnats followed me. I finished the pizza and only had beer. The damn gnats even tried to hover inside my beer. The pizza is cardboard and cheese. Pretty lousy. The only positive is that it's been an hour and I still have not gotten sick.

This is a great pizza place. You can get some slices and beer on tap. The prices are good, slices big and it's right across from the garden. Easy to get to by taking the T (next to North Station).

In my never-ending search for food near my office I pushed the boundaries and ventured from Charlestown to the West End. Halftime Pizza isn't that bad, decent enough chicken parm sub--big, lots of sauce, not microwaved--but it isn't that great either, maybe due to the fact that it was a little on the expensive side ($7.45) and the place is covered in tacky images of sports balls (soccer balls, footballs, baseballs...no kickballs thought). I thought the one saving grace of this place would be the fact they serve beer, but that beer is mad expensive ($5.45 for a 24 oz High Life). The staff is nice enough and they were quick about making my sub (granted no one else was there around 1:30pm on a Wed) so I wouldn't be opposed to going back.

Best Italian pizza in Boston! Sometimes I want to drive in from the suburbs just to get it! I prefer the white pizza and the mushroom or onion. The inside of the place is not much to look at the bathroom is scary, but hey I go there for the pizza not to dine at the Ritz.

This overpriced pizza place only stays open for two reasons: They are the only non-chain pizza place in the area (we have the Federal workers and some office workers) And the Celtic and Bruin crowd (they are right across the street from the Garden. I wish someone would open a decent pizza place up in this area (a lot of building going on so I have my hopes up) and drive these guys out of business. They are overpriced, rude and the food is fair (and they don't sell cheesesteaks!)

The pizza is okay and the salads are decent but the Long Trail on Draft is KILLIN!

Ok, here is the deal with Halftime Pizza, the pizza is mediocre and overpriced but it is an awesome drinking place before a game. Seriously 22oz beers for resonable price. I will load up on some of those before going into the Garden to pay the crazy prices. Love the decor and the workers too. Althought be warned, the bathroom walls are paper thin. I one had a friend of the opposite sex hear my entire conversation in the bathroom. A conversation I did not want them to hear!

I have to agree with others on this one. This place is GROSS. It's never clean and the workers always seem annoyed to actually have a customer. The slices are small and wicked greasy, and they usually only have 2 choices: cheese or pepperoni. It's a PIZZA place for pizza's sake!! Have some options!! The sub choices are sub-par and the dinner plate choices are pasta and sauce...OR....(wait for it)....pasta and sauce. Above all else, it's totally over priced. Especially with so many other options in the area....not to mention the North End, which is a ten minute walk away. Halftime Pizza is lame.

worst slice of cheese pizza in my life and it was 3 bucks.... the cheese ran runny mixed up with the sauce into something like a hot pocket's guts... I still ate it but it a=was a huge mess and had I not been wildly hungry and in a hurry I wouldn't have even finished it.... north station needs better food options... half time used to be good when I was a kid but that was 14 years ago....

This place gets a 5 simply for the fact that you can get 22 oz draft beer before any Bruins game as opposed to drinking the watered down garbage they give you once you get inside for the game. Bonus points for showing the old school hockey games on the TV. Get here early though, as the place fills up absurdly quick within an hour or two as game time approaches.

It's no tthe best pizza in town, but better than options inside the Garden if you want a quick bit before the game. The slcies are big and the service is usually quick. They offer 22oz beers at a better price than the Garden, which is not a difficult accomplishment. It does get really crowded before and after games. Also, during the week it can get really crowded during lunch. On a few occasions, the pizza has been quite undercooked as the result fo a rush.

Greasy pizza that fights back after you've eaten it. Perfect for those nights where you want to do a lot of damage to the stomach lining with beer and pizza. The staff is unfriendly and not really in any rush to help you out which sort of fits the character of the neighborhood. The place gets packed when there's an event at the Garden so be warned but other than that it's cheap and tasty. Just keep the Maalox handy.

A must before or after a Bs/Cs game. Get there early though because it fills up quick. Had to take one star off becuase its not always the cleanest place but I guess its tough to clear tables when its an absolute mob scene.

Hands down my favorite pizza in Boston. I spend a lot of time at the Garden during hockey season and my time on Causeway Street wouldn't be complete if it didn't include getting a slice before the game. Granted, it gets ridiculously crowded, but the line moves fast. It's family-run and reasonably priced. If you're going with four people and you're each going to eat two slices, order a pie. It's cheaper than ordering individual slices and comes out super-quick. If it's hockey season, sit back and watch classic hockey fights on the televisions before you head to the Garden and watch the Bruins bring back the old-time college hockey we miss so much.

Good pizza at a good price. I would come here before a concert.

The pizza here was surprisingly good. I liked it better than the pizza at Regina Pizzeria in Fanueil Hall. The main difference is the sauce. The sauce at Halftime is juicy and slightly sweet, but not too sweet. The sauce at Regina is bland and barely there. It's also a bit cheaper here, although two slices and a soft drink will run you approximately $7.50. You also have the option of getting beer, which is nice. The pizza was fresh and came out at the right temperature, hot, but not burn your tongue hot. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area, and I'd recommend it as a cheap eat in the area.

Probably my favorite pizza place in Boston! I used to work right down the street, so I surely got my fair share of food from this place. I absolutely love their cheese, veggie, and some other type of pizza with lots of garlic and chopped tomatoes. They also have a pasta salad with lots of vegetables. I've heard their pasta is good, too!

This is a great local pizza joint. If you are looking for a fancy north end Italian eatery, go across 93 to the north end. If you are looking for a good slice of pizza, this is the place. When I was a kid, I flipped pizza for Conca D'oro in Sag Harbor NY. We were often voted one of the best on eastern Long Island. Based on my experience, and tastes, this is a good spot. Try the tomato and broccoli slices.

Aw, how can you not love Halftime Pizza. Went here sometimes before Celtics games as a kid, and I always loved the Celtics pictures on the ceilings. When I moved to Boston, I couldn't wait to visit Halftime, and it didn't disappoint. The pizza is darn tasty and nice and greasy. You wouldn't be disappointed with Halftime, and they also have beer and wine.

I guess it's been a while since the review with the gnats so maybe it has changed...BECAUSE I love this place. I love their pizza - It reminds me of the pizza you get at the little joints in Brooklyn....Sweet sauce and thin crust.. YUMMMM... they have big tables in the back that are great for large groups and they're not usually crowded for lunch.

Don't go to Halftime for the Pizza, go for the SUBS, they are a little pricey but are damn good!!

Great pizza for being so close to Garden. Very efficient. Reasonable and cold beer! Nothing fancy and not the best out there, but good quick food before a game. Kid friendly before a game.

Good pizza and a great place to pop in quick before a Celtics game. Of course, the place will be packed out before gametime, but that is to be expected. For the price, the pizza is surprisingly excellent. Come here before most Celtics games.

solid pizza thats kind of a rip-off but a perfect meal before a game at the garden (paired with a huge molson...delicious). will likely come back here.
