We came in before a Red Sox game. To be expected it became quite busy and on the noisy side. We found the bar staff very attentive and friendly (they get 5 stars). We had an order of shrimp as a starter. I found them a little small for the price. But we are in Boston. We also tried the fried pickles. Very good. I ordered a cheddar bacon burger. It was perfect. Outside was crisp and the inside very juicy. This is a place worth visiting.

First, I really like the other Franklin Cafe restaurants and go regularly. This place? Not so much. Good oysters (but better at Island Creek in Kenmore). Overpriced, under-portioned food. Horrible hostessing staff with nasty attitudes. Don't bother unless you want to be disappointed and annoyed.

What a great spot... They recently just added a gluten free menu of which I tried the ricotta and honey cheese plate, the goat cheese, and the bqq tofu. The goat cheese tasted like they had just milked a goat! It was OFF the charts delish. I am not a huge fan of tofu, but it came on top of some sort of amazing cheese grits and was done rather nicely. The ricotta and honey came with apples and was very tasty! The food gets an A+ in my book. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. It was not too crowded. The decor is simple but pleasant. My only complaint is that it was a bit chilly where we sat! Above all, the drinks here are fabulous. The bartenders Chad and Frankie were super friendly, very knowledgeable and made killer drinks! Lastly, they had Fernet shots done on tap that are like no other. A great end to a meal! I have so much more to say... I am definitely going back here! Even price wise I felt that we got our $ worth of food and drink! Yay Citizen Oyster!

Bad food and bad service. Twice. I'm done. Food is uninspired and way too salty. Seriously, lay off the stuff. Service is mediocre to bad. Don't encourage a party of co-workers to show up and then boot them from the tables when they are spending freely on food and drink. Bad idea tonight and one that will ensure that many don't return.
