The best delivery mac and cheese I have ever had! We did delivery from here at the end of football season, knowing nothing about this place, and we were not disappointed. The menu is large, tons of different options to appease pretty much anyone. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone on a diet, but if you are looking to pig out and watch sports, this should be a go-to on a Sunday. Delivery didn't take too long and everyone was pleased with their meal's taste and portion size. Everything we tried was tasty and still warm, which can vary from delivery joints. I will def have to order from here again, and make sure you try the mac and cheese!

Awesome wings, potato skins, and french fries! I do they would stay open later though.

It's not the best food I've ever eaten but it's close, reliable, and affordable. The steak sandwiches are especially good but sometimes the bread tastes a bit stale. I always ask for the pizza to be well done or else it just falls apart.

Had the veal parmigiana with linguine and for the price, it was one of the better choices this weekend. Huge portions, seasoned well and service was quick. Wish I found this place earlier for PAX. Those $35+ meals get old quick. From the garlic bread and veal, I'd recommend the veal parmigiana sandwich for a "lighter" meal. I plan on eating here again if I come back to PAX.

AK's has become my boyfriend and I's go to place because it is so convenient to where we live. Their food quality has pretty much stayed the same in the last 4 years I have lived here, some of their menu items are a lot better than others, you just have to know what to order. They are pretty much what you would expect from a pizza/sub shop. Their prices are reasonable and the portions are large. I see some poor reviews about their pizza crust, but I think it all comes down to preference, because that is the one thing I love about their pizza. I love the way their crust tastes! The quality of the food isn't amazing by any means, but it's convenient and easy and the most decent take out that we have gotten from a sub shop in Southie. It is best to anticipate an hour delivery time because of how busy they have gotten in the last few years. I don't think they are rude as some of the other comments state, but I do think they are understaffed sometimes and super busy and can be a bit blunt and matter of fact on the phone rather than friendly and cheerful.

Jet lagged, I ordered the grilled chicken pesto tortellini from AK's. I usually don't get chicken in pasta because why screw up a good thing, you know? But, based on my experience with AK's grilled chicken in their greek salad I said what the heck. Was not disappointed. The chicken, pesto, and pasta were so good that I'm thinking about putting an order into a time capsule to share with our future generations.

I felt the need to update our AK's review. This is our go-to place for delivery. They have so many consistently high quality options here, they are almost always early compared to their estimated delivery time, and their prices are incredibly reasonable especially considering we almost always have leftovers. We've tried and love: mozz sticks, fried ravioli, wing dings, the burgers are surprisingly great, steak tips, ribs, several subs, all of the grilled cheese sandwiches (tuna melt is the best), turkey club, chicken gyro, several wraps (grilled meat lovers is ridiculous), fried haddock or fried shrimp dinner, and a bunch of the sides. Yea we order from here too often... whatever it's a great place and totally worth it.

Hawaiian pizza was dry and bland. The mozzarella sticks were also dry and didn't seem fresh. I ordered delivery and the food was fairly cool when it arrived. But...the curly fries were amazing!

  • Craig S.

great portions, food was wicked tasty. Could have used a little more sauce, but that's OK. Don't get delivery though. Took about an hour. Food was still piping hot so no complaints there, but would've been worth the gas money or walk to just go pick it up yourself. Regardless, will definitely eat here again

Though essentially $1 per piece, I couldn't say that I would order buffalo wings from any other place in Southie. Each wing is hearty with plenty of meat and sauce, so my roommates and I have enjoyed more than a few NFL games with AK buffalo sauce plastered on our faces (which is what you want, right?). The wings remain relatively crispy following the application of both buffalo sauce and either ranch or bleu cheese dressing (both included), which is more than one could say about most other wings around Southie. AK's earned a special place in my hear the second time I ordered from them. My roommate and I were chowing down on some of their delicious buffalo bird flesh when we realized we had been shorted 4 wings. Yes, we count the wings. We have the hearts of fat children and are both younger brothers. Anyway, I promptly called AK's and they rectified the issue by supplying us with the 4 truant wings PLUS TWO BONUS WINGS. Plus bonus ranch. Everyone loves a good bonus. All in all, AK's is my wing place until future mandate.

FRESH can never describe the food here, always made with so much LOVE.

Love this place. Perfect for what it is, a reliable pizza/sub takeout restaurant. I live more or less next door, so I constantly order from here. They are quick (usually 20 minutes), friendly and the food is tasty. I have ordered a variety of menu items at this point. All have met or exceeded my expectations. Definitely a trusty sub/pizza take out place. My favorites from here include: -Pepperoni Pizza -Wings (breaded) -Burgers (beef and turkey) -Steak & Cheese Sub Also their rewards program is a nice touch if you order from here often.

Finally I found a pizza delivery place that rocks. Excellent pizza with outstanding crunchy crush. Well done! Bookmarked this place.

AK's is a very reliable takeout place in my neighborhood. It's become my go-to spot when I'm feeling lazy and hungry. I typically order through Foodler, so it's super easy. They are always speedy and friendly, whether ordering delivery or pick-up. Their chicken wings and tenders are great. Like, really great, Best I've had from a takeout place in Southie. The food is fresh, and you can tell it isn't the processed frozen stuff you get at most places. I typically get them plain, with sauce on the side, so they arrive hot and crispy. I'm also a fan of their steak and cheese subs. Very, very, very tasty. I can't speak to their pizza, but I tried a calzone once. It was just OK.

Sevice here is terrible. I received the wrong delivery order. When I called they assured me the driver would be right back with the correct order. No one ever showed up and never received a call or refund. Go somewhere else where they treat customers better.

Good pizza. I personally like crispy crusts and the crust on this pizza was a little softer than I like on the sauce portion but the flavored were good. Our party got a large ak supreme, large buffalo chicken pizza, and garden salad for 40 dollars. The garden salad came in a small Tupperware container and wasn't really anything great but I always am grateful to have a side of crunchy fresh veggies while I eat pizza. I'm not sure if it was just our order but our buffalo chicken pizza came with banana peppers and it was pretty spicy. Unless you enjoy spicy I would recommend not getting this. The online delivery ordering system is very convenient and we ordered our food Saturday night at around 10pm and they came a little before 11. Only place really open late at night in Boston that delivers that I could find. ( I'm not from Boston )

Ordered from them quite a few times. It's too bad their service is terrible because the food isn't bad but they're overpriced, slow as molasses and rude. Spent over $80 on fish dinners and they forgot the fish in one of the dinners!? When we called to let them know they didn't give a crap and acted like we were a nuisance. They hesitantly told us we can come pick it up in 20 minutes - no offer to deliver it - which is probably a good thing because their deliveries run at least an hour 1/2 long. When we went to pick it up the fish they never apologized or anything. Worst service ever!

  • Kenny S.

Treats customers like crap. I have ordered here 1-2 times a week for three years. A week ago, I ordered a calzone online and asked for extra ketchup and mustard. I got a follow up email saying I was being charged for extra toppings. For ketchup and mustard. I couldn't care less about the money...are we seriously up charging for condiments now? Today, I ordered the same calzone and I got a call saying I could get a calzone with some of the toppings, but not all. Not because they were out of toppings, they were just too busy. Not too busy to make the calzone, just too busy to put all the toppings in it. Makes a lot of sense. There are too many good places in Southie to deal with a place that treats their customers like this.

We ate here 2 days in a row...Great food, good service.

  • Dan K.

I ordered a large supreme pizza for pick-up. The crust was crispy but like a cracker, no chewiness or char. The toppings were fairly plentiful but extremely bland! Despite having sausage, pepperoni, hamburger, onion, and peppers it had less flavor than many cheese pizzas I have had. The pizza was ready in around 15 min as promised. The staff was efficient and polite. The decor and furniture is cheap looking and dated. I will not eat here again.

  • Alexander B.

Aside from the crust tasting like cornmeal on previously frozen bread, it was an insanely mediocre pizza. I'm not sure how this place has maintained 4 stars, but I'm giving it 2 rather than 1 given the other options in the area. I'll take my chances elsewhere.

  • Ashu S.

Baad food. Too much mustard in the sub. Never felt they spend anytime preparing the food.

  • Pat C.

I have given this place so many chances. They are soooooo slow at Delivery. Its a 2 hour wait minimum, I can't understand how they are still in business. This doesn't happen once, it happens every time. When you do get your food it will be cold. The driver will apologize every time. I'm sick of hearing it. I ordered at 5:30, it is now 8:00 and I am still waiting. Done with this place.

  • Foodie F.

Wings are very good even when delivered but have a problem with the delivery guy. He said he couldn't walk up the stairs because he was double parked... First of all that's not my fault secondly I had kids to watch he was very rude on the phone, so disappointed....

Ordered for pickup from delivery.com and got a call 15 minutes later from AK's letting us know our food was ready. Good service overall.

I had a bad experience with AK's and in a grumpy rage I yelped about it. The manager returned to my apartment and refunded my money and apologized. I respect that. While he did interrupt my episode of True Blood ;) I appreciate that kind of customer service and because of this I will definitely give them another shot. Kudos and touché.

I got delivery from AK's for the first time today. Being new to the area I have tried about four or five similar take out restaurants for lunch but today I found my new go-to. This place is delicious! The food for here on time and everything was hot. Everything was cooked the way I wanted it and so yummy. The portions are large and the delivery driver was very nice. I'll be ordering again next week!

    (4)
  • Carter B.

I love AK's with all of my heart, but is it too much to ask to get some delivery drivers that actually deliver the food hot and on time? Please? 1 out of every 3 times I have ordered, they always take over an hour and a half. I know certain things are medicinally legal in MA, but damn.

    (2)
  • Brady B.

Excellent! I ordered a whole BBQ chicken that was just perfect. I had corn and yummy baked beans for sides that went beautifully with the chicken. It arrived piping hot within 30 minutes and it was enough for 3 people for only $13.50 + tax and delivery, which came to just over $15. I look forward to many more meals from this place.

We order from AKs on a regular basis because it's quick and easy and they have a pretty extensive menu for a pizza place. This time we just wanted something light and went for a Julienne salad and some wings. Being from Buffalo and therefore experts on wings, AKs is one of the few places in the Boston area that does them half decently. Great prices and even a cute little eat in area with a tv. If you're being lazy and don't feel like making food, this is the place to turn to for just about anything you're craving and you know it will be good. They also have the largest selection of specialty pizza list I've ever seen.

This place is great. Online ordering is simple and smart. Huge menu, fast delivery and even online tracking of your order. Will definitely be coming back here!!! Good pizza, wings and huge portions.

They listen to what you order . . . AK's is fast and inexpensive. For the american food delivery game - this is a great contender.

Damn you for being a four-hour round trip from my house. BEST PIZZA WE'VE HAD IN AGES! Grilled buffalo chicken, blue cheese, onions and banana peppers on a perfectly-fired thin crust. We have been craving this pizza ever since last Saturday night, when AK's graciously delivered one to our hotel room at the Hilton Back Bay. I feel a road trip coming on...

  • Stefania T.

very affordable pricing and their pizza is very dense and satisfying.

  • Harry A.

To be sure, I am not ordering AKs for a gourmet meal, but when I am looking for some meaty, saucy, delicious wings, this is my go to place! Although the sauce options are limited to 6 (I spent several years living by Wings Over Brookline, which has like 30), the options are ample to satisfy my cravings, and the wings themselves are definitely meaty. Both the boneless tenders and the bone-in wings are solid, and the choice for me really comes down to whether or not I am looking for that sauce-all-over-your-hands-and-face experience. Not to mention, the prices are very reasonable, the delivery is (relatively) quick, and the guys on the other side of the phone are always nice, so I will definitely keep ordering food from AKs (maybe Ill even venture to other parts of the extensive menu).

  • Annette A.

I'm basing this on one thing along: the cheeseburger salad. I'm one of those low-carb, keto diet freaks who has a lot of trouble finding satisfying lunch food that doesn't involve bread, pasta or a carton full of rice. Well, I found it. This thing? It's in front of me. It's massive. It's covered in cheese. It's covered in bacon. It has all sorts of veggies in it and they are NOT soggy and wet. This is a "man meal" right here. Anyway, less typing, more eating. Oh boy... oh boy... I'm happy. Yep.

    (5)
  • Mark G.

I order from this place quite frequently. It offers some delicious BBQ options that aren't offered elsewhere in the Mission Main area as well as good burgers and pizza. The delivery time is quick which makes it extremely convenient.

Damn good! I needed to secure quick food for a few folks working all day on a Sunday at an event...and this was where we happened upon. After checking to make sure the Yelp reviews supported it (they obviously do)...we banked on it, ordered up and were on our way in about 15 minutes. Going in, I wasn't hopeful that I'd be able to find anything remotely healthy that was remotely edible. I was proved so very, very wrong! AK's has the deep fried, gooey cheese covered goods. Of course. Cheesesteaks, pizzas, burgers, fries....all here. But! They also have a full lineup of salads, and I am here to say that my grilled chicken salad was nothing short of astonishing. A huge fresh bed of non-iceburg lettuce topped with fresh cut veggies and grilled chicken. I mean, really...these guys are legit! The guy at the counter was VERY nice, helpful and threw in a free 2 liter because our purchase was over $30. Lunch, drinks and happiness for 5: Around $60 with tip. Not too shabby! Would definitely order from again.

Absolutely incredible. I order from here almost every day while at work and they are always faster than the delivery estimated time. Even in today's blizzard!! Best falafel wrap I have ever had hands down and have yet to have something I didn't enjoy. Food isn't five-star restaurant quality, but why would it be? It's a take out joint with phenomenal service, superb delivery speeds and incredible prices. WOOHOO!

    (5)
  • Phil O.

This is the home of some of the cheapest takeout food in all of Boston. Quality is about a B- though, dragging down the rating to a 4. I've never had a problem with the service.

This place has CLEARLY earned is 'People Love Us On Yelp' sticker. We certainly loved it. We wandered in at 3 in the afternoon -pretty random - and were warmly greated by the pair behind the counter. We took our time looking over the menu and deciding what to order. In that time, several other patrons - very obviously local Southie boys - came in, ordered wings, grinders, pizza, etc., and filled the joint up. It became clear that AK's is a neighborhood staple. Our food was delicious. We had a few salads, a buffalo chicken sandwich, and some grilled chicken. Everything was fresh and flavorful - it really hit the spot after a long day of work. Because we ordered so much food, they threw in a 2 liter bottle of soda on top of all our drinks. Sweet. The prices we reasonable, the wait wasn't long and the service was great... Not to mention the food. Only drawback? Not a lot of parking, and I would have loved some bread with my salad. Other than that, I'd gladly go back to AK's anytime.

AK'S is bomb!!! HOWEVER it only is depending on what you order. The chicken fingers are soooooooooo good, i can never get enough. this is the only place i've known to mess up a chicken caesar wrap but the chicken fingers are amazing

Dear AK's, Thank you for being a delicious and consistent ray of sunshine in the otherwise hit or miss Southie delivery game. Thanks for the super polite delivery drivers who have called me to let me know they are running behind and apologize for my order be late. And thanks for making your sweet potato fires so flipping addictive I need a side of them with everything I order. I have never set foot in your establishment, but I can only assume it's filled with delightful elves who strive to make my Greek salad and baked scallop plate as delightful as possible. I'll see you tomorrow night. XOXO, Me

A chicken sandwich, an antipasto salad, and an order of mozzarella sticks. Seems simple, but for AK's, it certainly is not. Given that we ordered this for take out, I assumed they would start cooking before we arrived. Sadly, when we pulled up 15 minutes after ordering, they had not even started to cook our food. I guess that 10-15 minute window until it was ready meant the time until the food was ready to cook, not ready to be picked up. At this rate, we could have cooked at home. We waited around, and saw that are mozzarella sticks were done. They sat on the counter for 20 minutes until the rest of our food was done, getting nice and soggy. We promptly let the cashier know we did not want them, and thankfully she gave us a refund. Went home, opened our food which we were now SO hungry for, and it was all wrong. Wrong toppings on the sandwich, and onions that I asked not for on the salad. Not worth it- next time we'll get take out somewhere else, and hope they start to cook before we arrive.

I would like to start out by saying what I ordered which was buffalo tender dinner with two sides (side salad and curly fries). I walked all the way there (from W 7th.. didn't realize how far away it was) and walked all the way back. I went to dig in and my little heart sank. No blue cheese. I took away one star because of my sadness. But the food is great. I wanted some hot buffalo tenders and that's what I got! They were big too, lots of meat (ha). I just moved here a couple weeks ago and see myself ordering from there quite a bit. Definitely beats Broadway! So all in all I guess I took away one star because in my opinion you shouldn't have to ask for blue cheese with buffalo wings; it should be a given.

LOVE this place. When you order wings here, they know that you want a lot of wings and a lot of sauce and they deliver. I eventually plan to order something else here, but each time I pull up, I can't get those wings out of my head. Great place.

I'm a recent addition to the Southie community and as any 20 something with a full time job, I enjoy ordering takeout every now and then to avoid the hassle of cooking myself dinner. I've found it's really difficult to find a consistently decent takeout place in South Boston, until I discovered AK's. First of all, I am giving this 4 stars because I believe it is "as good as it gets!" in Southie...for takeout. Fine dining, it is not. But will it satisfy that craving for a delish pizza on a Saturday night? Heck yes. Now to my favorites... Every time I have called to order, I have always been greeted by a friendly voice on the other side who takes the time to make sure my address, credit card info, and order are correct. Not only that, but I could understand every single word out of her mouth. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Olympic meatball subs, but those guys are like men on a mission when they take your order over the phone and half the time I have to like scream "I HAVE A CREDIT CARD NUMBER" before they hang up to make sure they don't put me down for cash. Not at AK's - they're polite and happy people. Food - awesome! I've had the steak tip dinner (BBQ style) with rice pilaf and waffle fries. AWESOME steak tips - tender, juicy, cooked to perfection. HIGHLY recommend. I've also had the chicken fingers that were fresh, not those out-of-the-box kinds you get at most places in Southie. The only negatives I'll own up to were 1) the delivery time (both times I ordered it was a 45 minute wait) and 2) that the fries and chicken fingers were a little soggy when they arrived. If the boxes had some sort of ventilation, I'm sure this would be fixed. Overall, great place for takeout in Southie!

This review pertains to their delivery only. After a day of alcohol consumption we returned to our hotel room craving some Boston delivery. We looked at the hotel room service menu and were appalled at the prices. After a little yelp research we found AK's. We ended up going with the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and a Greek Salad. My fiancee thinks that the pizza was the some of the best thin crust that she has ever had. I also really enjoyed it and was shocked by how big it was for such a great price. Next time we are in Boston this will be our go to place!

  • Matt C.

I can't even say I've been here multiple times. That would be a lie, as I have never actually been there (unless you count running and/or driving by) and I've only ordered here once (a couple of weekends ago). That said, the prices are more than reasonable, the delivery was made right on time, and as for the food? Let's just say I'll never order wings from anywhere else in Southie. Amazing & can't wait for the next time!

  • Mike L.

Horrible. Ordered delivery and it took almost an hour and a half. So, of course the food arrived cold, not only that but everything is just soaked in grease. Just waiting now to start feeling terrbile after eating the food. Avoid at all costs

This is the best pizza in Southie as far as I'm concerned. Ready in 15 minutes every time! Also check out the grilled chicken salad-- its my late night at work go-to!

Wow! Got a pleasant surprise from AK's last night.. In last night's order I tried the coleslaw,, it was better than most sit down restaurants I've been in. We recently dined at The Ledge, The No Name and both offered bland, run-of-the-mill slaw.. AK's was fresh, crunchy and delish, "homemade" is my guess. This came as a surprise; not because AK's is mediocre but because most pizza/sub places use the pre made, "industrial" coleslaw.. I got the order to go, so I did not have the chance to ask the owner if he makes his own but that's my educated guess. Perhaps he makes a batch once a week or maybe more than that. All I know is that AK's cooks good food and delivers quickly (they should for the $2 dollar delivery charge).. On our next order I'm going to try one of the other sides, see if they're as good as the coleslaw.. It was really good.

Amazing pizza~ but what won me over was the Buffalo Chicken Salad...DELISH! Not only is the chicken grilled to perfection, they keep it in tin foil so it doesnt get the lettuce all soggy! I have been getting this salad everyday almost for the last week! I'm soo glad I found it! YUM! I stand by my original review, this place is awesome! I eat here everyday and it never gets old. I get the buffalo chicken salad, and it rocks! If you're someone who appreciates delicious food at a reasonable price, I highly recommend AK's!

It might help that I live less then block from this place, but I love me some AK's. When you first walk into the place the thing you notice right away is the menu, it's freaken huge! It actually spans three walls. The owner of the place is also a pretty cool guy, and half the time I'm in there they are watching this crazy soap opera in another language, which makes for good conversation. As for the food, you will think "Hmmm, I have had better," but for the price there is really nothing that can beat it. There is no contest for a good tasting cheap pizza on a Friday night. Possibly the greatest thing about them is they are down the street from BK's, the hamburgers cost exactly the same but AK's are a landslide better. These guys do it right and I have yet to be disappointed. I have also heard the delivery is fast, which I can believe cause that delivery guy is constantly coming and going.

Haven't been here but ordered delivery. The delivery service was on time, guy was very nice but the Pizza was awful. Wasn't looking for gourmet or anything but this pizza had a weird chemical taste to it. Wasn't even average. I muscled through a couple slices cause I was hungry but threw out the rest. Won't order from here again. Because the delivery guy was nice and on time, I gave them an extra star but that's it ... never again.

  • Megz T.

Pros: good size portions, reasonable prices Cons: the pizza had a weird chemical taste to it (reminded me of chlorine... not sure what it is though?) and was very meh. I bet it would taste ok at 2am, but not for lunch. Sub was ok, but bread wasn't fresh. Some co-workers and I walked here on our lunch break and the cooks were smoking out back and it looked generally icky. It kind of skeeved me out? We'll look elsewhere for a decent lunch in the area.

Some of the better pizza in Boston. Sandwiches are pretty good too as the bread is always fresh. Delivery is very reliable as well. In a city filled with pizza joints this is one of the better ones.

Decent ribs and steak tips combo meal... yet my friend was disappointed with the instant mashed potatoes (who knew!)-- haha.. I got the clam strips and fries (plentiful serving), which I'd definitely get again. Delivery was quick!

Never disappoints. BBQ chicken pizza Small (ha! 9 of them!) cheese sticks Buffalo Chicken Fingers Yes. Im VERY popular on nights when I let AKs make dinner. One suggestion - STAY OPEN AFTER BAR TIME! It bums me out to eat frozen pizza when I know that AKs is so close to our house.

I really like this place. The people at the counter are very pleasant and the food is great. The crust on the pizza is fantastic and the delivery times are very fast, even on a Friday night.

  • Owen G.

Ordered delivery. Food showed up in about 30 minutes. Mac&cheese tasted liked it had been refrigerated after having been cooked. Mushroom bites were out of a frozen bag. Gyro salad was not made with spit fired hero meat (again processed frozen gyro meat). However the salad itself was nice fresh iceberg lettuce. If your staying at the Westin and too lazy or tired to go out, then this place is like getting leftovers out of your fridge.

YUM! It's hard to find delivery that will burn your mouth because it's still that hot! I ordered a baked ziti with chicken and it was literally still steaming 5-10 mins after I opened it. The food was great and tasty, delivery was VERY fast and everyone I encountered was very polite and patient. The only trouble I had was I found it difficult to understand the delivery guy on the phone because I was unfamiliar with his accent and he spoke quickly. Other than that, I am a fan!

I like AK's pizza but its by no means, some of the best pizza I've ever had (five stars) and I can't really say that I'm a fan either (four stars) because I likely wouldn't get it again unless everything else was closed. When I think of five star pizza I think of "Upper Crust." The pizza at AK's was really bland! I didn't taste or see any seasoning in the tomato sauce and the cheese was just kind of there. Not the type of cheese that you peel off of the box and eat. The crust was pretty bland too--very frozen food like. Not nasty but not great...just something cheap and convenient.

GREAT pizza. It was still piping hot when it got here (in no time), the crust was fluffy yet crispy, and the toppings were oh so delicious! The Brazilian had a great combination of toppings and the Buffalo Chicken was super spicy and awesome. I highly recommend AK's if you're looking for that go-to pizza place in Southie!

I had friends over and I did not want to cook for that many people so I decided to order food from AK's. I got a large cheese pizza and two 30 wing ding boxes. The guy on the phone was super nice and helped me figured out how much to order for my party. They also delivered within 30 minutes! I will definitely be ordering from here again, as their wings were delicious and the pizza was also good. It wasn't expensive at all, I only wish they were open later, i.e late enough to satisfy my post-alcoholic state especially on the weekends. Just a quick tip, if you decide to look on their menu online like I did, go to the right website, there's another AK's takeout in Roxbury crossing and it is not the same as this one in South Boston.

Took a chance on this place the other night...The Calzones are pretty good but was a little surprised at the wings...they weren't fried like most places and the buffalo sauce wasn't as spicy as I would've expected. I'd say go for it be cautiously optimistic about the wings if ordered.

OMG this place rocks! Best burger Ive had within the bounds of Southie! Pulled Rib SUB? OMFG so delicious! I'd eat there every day but then I would weight 500 pounds. And we already got a few fat guys in around these parts. If you are nearby or want deliver, I highly recommend AK's! you will not be disappointed. Free high Five if you mention my review on Yelp!

Best all around take out option in South Boston. Salad, Dbl Burger, Wings, Ribs, Chx pesto pasta and even their corn bread are all amazing.

AK's is practically the only delivery option for those in the Fort Point area (especially in the fried foods/pizza range), and every time we have used them they have been prompt and the food has been pretty decent and certainly fills the junk food cravings, and the prices are really good. My only real complaint is that the buffalo chicken pizza does not have sufficient (any?) buffalo sauce! More sauce please!!

Some of the best cheese pizza I've had in a while.

This place is great. The food selection is abundant. The people are nice and the delivery estimation is always on point. Though they messed up my order once it wasn't a big deal.

Great place. Best bonless wings in southie. Good pizza and subs. Staff is polite and quick on delivery calls, and web orders work.

As a college student I've tried a lot of different places in the area, and AK's is the best one so far, beating out the many similar places on Huntington. Pizzas are good with generous and fresh toppings, of note is the pizza alfredo. Their large calzones are absolutely massive and densely packed, especially the steak bomb, chicken & broccoli, and buffalo finger - order these if you're in the mood for something heavy or just want to eat for days! The club sandwich and hot subs are all good, and the buffalo chicken wrap is another standout. The weakest part of their menu is probably the burgers - the meat tends to be a little hard and dry. The seafood plates are also loaded with fries, so you won't find much value there. If you do order a side of fries, you'll find that it comes in a box inside a paper bag, literally heaping out of the box. Salads are very fresh and neatly made, comes inside a bowl about the diameter of a hand. When ordering delivery, one guy usually answers the phone and keeps things extremely fast and efficient. Delivery times are consistently good, 20-30 mins up to Mission Hill.

This place is consistently good delivery in southie. The people that answer the phone and delivery your food couldn't be nicer. They have a great variety of stuff on the menu, not just pizza and wings. The food is consistently good, I especially like the fresh wings and fingers. No Sysco frozen crap here.

The Boneless Teriyaki fingers are the friggin bomb, they wrap them in tin foil and the styro-container so they are nice and hot and dont spill. The Pizza is delicious especially sausage topped. Like most pizza the smalls kick ass over the large. They shouldnt charge me $2 for delivery.

Finally, decent pizza in South Boston. Seems like everyone's biased to the pizza you grew up eating, but anyone in South Boston who wasn't born there is more than willing to complain about the uniformly mediocre pizza. There's about a dozen places that all have C+/D grade pizza, and often can't even deliver than with consistency. AKs has solid B+ pizza, maybe not the best you've ever had, but you're happy when it comes to the door. Good, flavorful crust, fresh ingredients liberally applied, and a fair price. I've tried some of the apps, which were good, and really dig the calzones. Meatball parm calzone, a small is about $9-$10 and is easily big enough for two huge meals. They've got several gourmet pizzas, Brazilian, steak tip etc. that I keep meaning to try.

They arent as great as other say. I ordered a sub for delivery and it was burnt. Very burnt. As they made the sub, they must have thought "wow this bread is black, but lets keep making it'. They assumed since I was a delivery customer, they could get away with this. Two stars for their gyro (ordered twice, once better than the other) and for the quick delivery. Other than that, the subs are burnt, pizzas suck and calzones are GROSS! So many better options in southie.

If this is East Coast pizza, I'm a convert. The pizza was delicious!!!! I was visiting and ordered this pizza to my hotel- it was a good call. Loved the cheese and crust. I also like how they mixed the ricotta across the pizza, instead of putting it in a couple of large blobs.

huge portions! great prices... a very large menu from pizza/pasta to sandwiches and even ribs. everything is satisfying to the belly. i prefer not to eat here every single day for lunch when i am at work because i will prob gain 10 lbs by the end of the week.

Not good. It's pretty tough to find good pizza in Southie, but this place somehow found a way to be "bad" in a sea of bad pizza joints. Delivery took over an hour, and the pizza was barely warm when it arrived. Pizza was dry, cardboard like, and poorly made.

I liked this place there are not many places I will order from in Southie. I was surprised to find out this place is actually good. I go there once or twice a month whcih is alot for me. I have given up on southie take out and cook at home more. I love southie but the take out is not great. Yay for AK's.

I came here after venturing out to Lawn on D. I'm a huge fan of anything pesto, so I got the grilled chicken pesto tortellini pasta (I believe it was $12 or so) with a side salad (which was another $2.50) to go. It was literally a baby salad, so don't bother adding that to the side. The pasta dish was huge and pesto was everywhere. Yum! I also got lightly breaded chicken tenders (6 pcs for $7.99 I believe) with ranch dip. I like my tenders not deep fried and not cloaked with a heavy batter. I was happy with the food here. AK's has seating for those who don't want take-out or delivery, but the place isn't huge.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
