I was severely disappointed with this Chinese food. The fried rice was dry and clumpy and the General Tso's chicken lacked any pizazz. These two things are pretty standard Chinese takeout fare, and since they were an epic fail, I'm not going to waste my money trying anything else here until I've tried every other Chinese restaurant in Beverly.

A-OK perfectly describes this take-out venue. Now, if I were back in New Jersey where fantastic Chinese food is around every corner, I would definitely drop this rating by a star or two. Alas, I am in Beverly, MA where as far as Chinese take-out is concerned, this is it folks! The food tastes pretty good in precisely the way that lets you know it is terribly bad for you. The portions are very large for the price (combination platters easily feed 2). The people are nice. What more could you want, really?

I actually like the food here, but there are other problems. First of all there is a huge language barrier and my order always gets messed up. Second of all, we had guests over for New Year's Eve, our order took about an hour and a half to deliver, which we expected. However we called back to tell them they forgot to deliver part of our order. She said she would have that delivered to us right away so we waited. Another hour later I called again and she said she forgot. They never showed up and we never received the rest of our order and our guests left without eating. How embarrassing! Why I'll never order from them again...its says on their menu China Wok Policy - "If not completely satisfied with your order, we'll give you a refund toward your next order, or we will refund your money." I went in 3 times in person explained the situation and asked for a refund and was refused even after showing her the China Wok Policy on her own menu! Wouldn't even refund the undelivered items! The best she would do was give me a 10% discount on my next order. I even asked to speak with the owners and was refused! So it seems the actual China Wok Policy is - If not satisfied with your order, TOUGH LUCK!

Why is China Wok averaging 5 stars? Can someone tell me? It's your typical local chinese takeout that is greasy and dirty. One thing that's positive about this location is that I don't get sick after eating their food compared to joints like China Jade in Beverly. You know it's sad when I'm reviewing places on the terms of whether I get sick or not.... Please spend $5 more bucks and eat at Su Chang's in Peabody. You will not regret spending few more bucks on each dish.

It's an average Chinese take out place. Nothing spectacular about it. When I have the need for Chinese food this place satisfies me.

average Chinese food, it was much better in the past but has fallen off a little bit. This place is freezing in the winter and sweltering in the summer.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
