Went here for dinner, got there at 8. We were seated around 8:15 in a dining room which no one told us had been conquered by a wasted brigade of pregaming townies going to a bachelor party. Under any other circumstances I would have walked out but we were all seriously hungry and this was the place we went to. We ended up getting a pu pu platter and dumplings. It was tough to get the proper sauces... Actually it was tough to communicate anything! The waiter was cordial but sort of acknowledged that none of the managers were going to do anything about the noise. It was a jersey shore audition, guys literally shouting at each other like its a locker room. And none of the managers went to the table. Parties being seated in our section while we were eating all left without ordering, shortly after sitting down. The food was good and it looked like a nice place. It just felt like the restaurant is out of control and no one is in charge when it's busy. Its too loud to talk. Management is unwilling to take action. Lots of families trying to have dinner and spend time together are sold a sub-par night out, which sucks.

First thoughts upon entering restaurant; wow, this place is bigger and nicer than it looks on the outside! I was instantly excited to try their food once my whole perception of the restaurant had changed from "just another chinese restaurant" to "oooh its a fancy chinese restaurant". My significant other couldn't decided what to have for our late lunch/early dinner b/c we wanted a little bit of everything. Most of the people around us chose the lunch buffet. We settled with the lunch buffet AND ordering 2 rolls of sushi. I can't recall the names of the rolls but we thought they were ok, nothing breathe taking. The lunch buffet was the same. Nothing too special. However, I did see that had hibachi tables as we were seated to our booths, perhaps we will return and try those another night and see if we like that better.

Usually get take out. Pretty good food. If you're ordering take out on a holiday, plan ahead and order about 5 hrs prior to needing it as it gets very busy! I would only eat in the bar area as the bartender is pretty nice.

This is my parent's favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant. I've been a few times, had their poo poo platter, a few pieces of sushi and a few drinks. Drinks are very strong (we sit in the bar area usually) and the sushi tasted fresh. The poo poo platter was delicious and it fed 3 of us, hungry adults. Love it and will always go back.

Decided to try a buffet for a change to make the kids happy. I have shopped next door and had no idea what this place was like. I was very surprised to see how huge it was on the inside, plenty of room. They put out way, way more food than the buffet across from the high school ( forgot the name). Hubs and I liked the choices we put on our plates. Some of the chicken dishes were a bit chewy. One teenager loved the food, the other HATED it and resorted to his childhood, when, brought to a buffet, he filled his plate with jello. Hey son, you better eat $8.50 worth of jello or you stay home next time. All and all, it was pretty good. The waiter was not friendly and had no sense of humor. Come to think of it, no one was really that friendly. I didn't like the booth. I couldn't get out to go to the buffet without pulling my back out. Hey, the food made up for it and I had a decent lunch!

We went here for a birthday party and it was great. The appetizers were standard Chinese fare, dumplings, egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, chicken wings and were all very tasty and hot. There was also some sushi rolls which while I am not exactly sure which ones they were, they were quite tasty too. The teppanyaki with soup and salad was very good. I had steak and shrimp with fried rice and it was cooked to perfection (steak medium rare). The chefs put on a very fun and interactive show and seem to have a great time doing it. The soup was a nice clear and rich chicken broth with scallions and a mushroom slice. The salad was fresh and dressing tasty. I'd definitely go back

When it comes to Chinese Buffets, it's always a challenge to find one that provides delicious food. So far, this restaurant has provided the best food in New England yet! However, my biggest complaint, which is the biggest reason they were rated with 3-stars, is that there was hardly any food at the buffet, nor did it appear that the servers were working exceptionally hard to refill them either. So here you are paying 8-9.00 for the lunch buffet, and finding all-you-can-eat food wasn't even available for you to eat-it-all. Aside from that, the environment was nice and cozy, the waitress we had was personable and friendly, and the food we could FIND was amazing! Hopefully next time I go, there will be a bigger variety of food than this last time!

I go back and forth with Jasmine. Decor nice, always good service, food pretty good. My problem is that twice I've ordered their vegetarian dumplings and received meat ones (once while 9 months pregnant). I'm understanding, so I could overlook it the first time, but come on. Twice? If it's happened to me twice, how many others has it happened to? No comp ever offered, btw. Really, get your shit together.

Depending on the day, the food will either be great or mediocre. The buffet is great and has a large selection of food and is usually at its best when it starts up until about 45 minutes before it ends. After that the food tends to get cold and rubbery. They have great dinner options at an overall reasonable price, and the hibachi is a great source of entertainment. Overall it's a pretty decent restaurant with a good atmosphere.

Good stuff! As we were returning to New Mexico from an east coast trip, we spent the night with friends in the area and had dinner here. Yummy sushi, great mochi for dessert. Definitely worth a repeat trip whenever we're back in the area.

I guess I was shocked after entering the doors. Doesn't look so big from the outside, but it is! Went on a Monday night at 6ish and there were lots of people eatting... My boyfriend and I ended up getting soup, some form of dumpling steamed...and lots of sushi. living in boston I hold a higher standard to sushi! We got a spicy tuna maki, auburn maki, and tekka maki, and ebi. everything was fresh! Our bill came to $35 bucks! Super cheap and delish! I dig the darker atmosphere so I'll be back someday. Plus side: Decor didn't have that funky stuck in the 70's feeling!

Jasmine is an interesting restaurant. It is large like a warehouse but split into several rooms, all with nice decor. There is a small bar room ... this needs to be expanded. Many times I have gone with friends and not been able to find a seat, which is a good problem for a restaurant to have. However, there have been times that I have avoided Jasmine because I knew the small bar would be full. There is a larger dining room to the side. There is a room for hibachi cooking with chefs cooking at the table and doing the traditional schtick for that. There is another room which has tables and a sit down sushi bar. Before I go into the food, the biggest problem I have with Jasmine is the seating arrangement. You have 2 main dining rooms yet they seem to mix the groups of people together. What I mean by that is that there are always several loud, roudy groups of younger adults crazy drunk ... banging on the table, swearing and being loud. The Mai Tais are strong here, and I understand that as such you are going to have rowdy young groups ... but the restaurant should consider using the back dining room for those groups ... and using the sushi bar dining room for diners who want more of a quiet experience. Once, I was on a date and there was a table of about 8 people in their 20s in the sushi bar dining room. They were screaming out obscenities ... the F word was used about 10 times at yelling sound level within the first few minutes I sat down. Then, one of the group found it funny to start loudly banging on the table. When one of the other couples at the table next to them looked over, one of the group said 'I dont Fking care. Stare at me all day.' and kept up the banging. I asked to switch to another dining room and they brought me to the back one. There was another table of about 6 or 7 ... 20 somethings, liquored up. After a few minutes, I again heard the F word several times very loudly and then one of the people started dropping the N-word. This was at around 5 p.m. on a Sunday. It seems this happens EVERY TIME I go to Jasmine. Musical tables because of a loud group. The problem would be solved by making the back dining room a 'loud' one and using the sushi bar one into more of a couples on dates and families dining room. I will never bring a date or family to Jasmine because of this. I will more often go with friends because the menu is very extensive and the food is good. Stick with the Chinese food ... its the staples. Chicken fingers, Spare ribs, etc. The Japanese section of the menu is interesting but it comes from the package, not fresh made. I ordered tempura shrimp one time and it came out looking like something that came out of a package at BJs Wholesale. Chinese food is supposed to be mass produced, but if any restaurant in Japan served that type of Japanese food, they would commit Hari Kari. The sushi is also very good. The chefs are skilled and know what they are doing and the presentation of the sushi is better than most places. The waitstaff are very capable most times and will get you what you want without problems. The prices are very reasonable for food ... especially take out. The drinks are a bit high priced for a Chinese restaurant. A few Mai Tais will set you back quite a bit. They do have Japanese beer in the can, but you will pay more for it. If you are going out with a family or on a date, be cautious of the environment you will be in, especially on weekends or after 5 p.m. The pre-packaged Japanese food and the loud atmosphere would be my only issues with Jasmine. This is one of the most popular restaurants in Auburn for a reason.

Hibachi is very good! The chefs are always funny and make sure you have a good time. They have a weekend buffett that's pretty decent. Beware of the wait staff - they can be very rude!

  • Bethany B.

So after several date nights in the bar, the occasional take out lunches, the fact that we had to replace China One -- Jasmine gets the fourth star from me. We haven't had any issues yet -- and the best part is that when I'm feeling to lazy to get all dolled up for the teppanyaki dinner -- Mr Bethany can pick it up as take out! All the courses, neatly packaged & delicious! Crossing my fingers that they can keep it up!

Usually my Jasmine experiences are pretty good, tonight was not. The server spoke little English, and messed up our order. When we got the wrong food, he insisted it was right, despite a bowl of rice not being a teppanyaki plate. He eventually brought a menu over for us to point at it and rushed off to fix it. No one ever came by for drink refills, and our appetizers were brought out with our meals instead of before. There weren't even many people there! We got no apologies or comps for the massive mix-ups. :( I guess it's back to Bauhinia. The drive is worth it.

This place get's four stars for the sushi and sashimi. The other part of the restaurant that I've tried, namely the buffet, leaves a lot to be desired. Don't know, maybe it's my fault for expecting something other then the stereotypical buffet fare, but I was extremely disappointed. As an aside, why would you have a Chinese buffet in a Sushi restaurant, makes about as much sense as having German options at an Italian restaurant. Anyway, the sushi is great, and the sushi chefs are very friendly. Best sushi in the area.

    (4)
  • Jaclyn R.

In the hibachi field, I would have to say Jasmines is the best. Although I only go for the hibachi, Jasmines also offers a full sushi menu and Chinese. The staff is very helpful and attentive. Drinks are good (I always pay close attention to drinks). Their prices also great; you get way more than you pay for. I think lobster is $25? (which comes with soup salad, vegetables, rice, shrimp app and ice cream). My only complaint is that it's a plaza...weird

    (5)
  • Anu V.

Fair is the best I can say for the food and atmosphere but I happen to really love good Asian food and this didn't make it at all. Place is huge and impersonal and totally unremarkable. Will be sure to avoid this place.

  • Mike V.

We've only gotten take out so I can't speak too much about dining in, but I can say that the interior is well done (especially considering it used to be an iParty). We've kept our takeout selections squarely in the Chinese side of the menu but have been very happy. I always judge Chinese by the ran goons and theirs pass with flying colors. If you're tired of other local Chinese options give it a try.

I was running some errands in Auburn on Sunday and had a sudden urge for sushi. I pulled up Yelp on the 'ol iPhone and saw that I was literally 0.5 mi from Jasmine. Perfect because I haven't tried it yet and I didn't feel like dropping the cash in Worcester. I'm not crazy about restaurants in strip malls, so I was feeling a bit turned off initially. As we walked in, the hostesses were friendly and the space seemed inviting. We were seated right away. It was not very busy yet, but that is because we were there early. The menu includes "traditional" Chinese fair, and sushi. They also have a hibachi style area where you can have the chef cook in front of your group. I liked that the bar area was sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant. We were craving sushi so we ordered 4 or 5 different rolls and I also ordered tuna sashimi. I tend to judge a sushi restaurant on the freshness of their tuna sashimi -- Jasmine's is very fresh. Of the rolls we ordered, i liked the tiger Eye and the spicy tuna roll the best. I also ordered some of the house Saki (warm) which was also good. Service was good. Not intrusive and always kept our water glasses full. The food here is very reasonable. I will definitely come back if I don't want to drive the extra 5 miles into the city or if I want to stay on a lower budget. Not including tip, our meal came to $40+. If this were in the city, i would probably have spent close to $100. Technically, I think 3.5 stars is fair, but it gets 4.

My husband and I went to Jasmine's, without reservations/ last minute idea, for New Year's Eve. We chose the buffet at $14.95 which offered plenty of selections, trays were continuously refilled, as they tried to keep up with hundreds of customers at one time. Our guesstimate is they can seat /service at least 200 customers at once. Our first impression was very positive in how this space, formerly an I-party store was renovated and subdivided into 4 distinct sections - a large sports bar to the left (upon entering) / off lobby, a separate dining room for hibachi meals, a sushi bar on opposite side of long hallway and 2 to 3 separate dining areas, along the hallway, with 4 island buffet plus salad/fruit island and dessert island at end of hallway. I would suspect this location (between TJ Maxx and a grocery store) offers the amount of space they needed (for this sort of layout) at a good rate. By being located in a small plaza, parking becomes less of an issue as is the case at some stand-alone restaurants. I have seen this set-up in Boston and other cities. Lastly, the plaza is no more than 1/4 mi. from Mass. Pike entrance and near several hotels in town. Being New Year's Eve (when many people decide on going out for supper) and given their well-earned reputation to date, this place was incredibly packed. People waiting in sports bar, along the hallway and in lobby (even some outside) for their tables with an estimated hour's wait. The staff managed people waiting for tables (several dozen at any given time) as well as they could, by walking into other areas and yelling out names. No beepers or any type of announcement system in place - room for improvement here. Our wait ended up being only half hour. We would definitely return to this place, when more quiet, and explore other sections of this restaurant. This is only the second restuarant in Auburn serving Asian cuisine. In our opinion, this place offers a wider menu and fresher food.

My friends and I wanted to take my cousin to a restaurant for her birthday. So we made reservations at Jasmine. Well....we were seated and then we waited for an additional 30 min for our waitress to come to take our first order of drinks and apps. Ummm...it wasn't busy!! hellloooo! By the time she got there, we were not a happy crew. She hastily took our order of drinks and apps and she was about to take off when we stopped her and said we wanted to order for dinner too.. seeing how it took a half for just drinks. How long before she would be back to take our entree orders!?!!?! She seemed like she was rushing us and not being very attentive at all. All in all, the food was good, the decor was very nice but the waitstaff can go home. Please.

My husband and I really like their sushi. Their crab rangoons are great also. Some of the wait staff could have better attitudes. We have done the hibachi a few times and had a great experience. The floor in the hibachi grill area is very slippery though. I'm surprised no one has slipped and sued yet.

Everytime I go here my card gets charged an additional 8-10 dollars more than my check. It takes a few days to fix and then I get credited back the difference. I tip in cash, not on the card. It's annoying that they assume a tip amount and charge you for it without asking. I now know I can not pay with a card there anymore.

Jasmine's was a good little place. Not much from the outside but I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Such a shame I had to pay per cup for my hot tea! I hate when places do that. I feel if you are spending 60 or 70 bucks on a meal, I should get my darn hot tea on the house! Feng in Milbury does that too. Hence the $110 bill on V-Day! Aside from that little hiccup, the sushi was yummy. I loved the spicy scallop. Yah, scallop- I know! I am used to spicy tuna or salmon but the scallop was a nice change. The service on the other hand was another story. I went in with my Mom and we ordered the seafood soup for two (really yummy), 3 rolls (among which were the spicy scallop, red socks and a soft-shell crab one) and a duck dish. I specifically ordered the Hunan duck which was tossed with broccoli. I noticed the Shang Hi duck (or something along those lines) and it had black mushrooms. I was jonesing for some crunchy broccoli and they brought the mushroom one! When I questioned them they acted like this is what I ordered. I actually had to ask them for the menu so I could show them which one I ordered and It was certainly not the one with the shrooms! They simply plucked the mushrooms out and added broccoli and pretended like the sauces were similar, yadda, yadda, yadda...but a foodie knows what the bleep she ordered! Overall the food was good, even the mushroom ridden duck. The sushi was yummy (I have had better;) and the bill was reasonable. About 60 bucks for 3 rolls, soup and a duck dish....oh yah, can't forget the green tea too ;)

We are not into Sushi, Sashimi, Hibachi, or Asian Drinks. We are into great tasting FOOD. We are searching for good Asian Restaurant, but Jasmine is not it. We ordered Moo Shu & Egg Foo Young; both were bland & not worth eating. I guess we need to keep looking. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Dont let the mini mall exterior fool you - this is place can get rocking! Definitely go there for the teppanyaki; you'll get seated in front of a large u shaped table that seats about 15 people and has two large skillet stoves. Each party gets their own chef, and all of them there are hilarious! They will be singing, dancing and performing food tricks the whole night. For those over 21, they usually bring out squirt bottles of sake and have people catch shots in their mouth from the bottle; usually more ends up on the shirt but its great! The food is pretty standard teppanyaki, nothing too special but also not that expensive either for the amount of food you get (I always have to doggy bag my entree). If you dont reserve a table, there's also a decent sized bar with multiple TVs to watch sports and grab a mai tai (awesome here) while you wait. Great addition to the town

Went here after work with some friends. It was a weeknight. The food was decent, we all had sushi and some appetizers and picked off each others. Nothing special. Some of the sushi seemed a little soggy, and the pickled ginger was very hard. Service was a bit slow for being that it was not that crowded. Oh well, I'll give them another shot before I say I wouldn't be back.

Ordered take out many times but will not oder again will drive by and go to Auburn Yong Shing. Always ask for extra duck sauce for my $40 + order and am told it's in the bag. Get home with 1 small duck sauce. Last time ordering received low mein noodles vs pan fried noodles called to complain and they argued with me for over 15 minutes- no credit, which I asked for, was received. This would have amounted to around $8.95. I finally hung up. Front desk take out staff is rude if you do ask for extra duck sauce or mustard they don't give it to you or they charge you. Mind you I am only talking for a little extra i.e. couple of small containers. It will give me great pleasure to drive by even though it is out of my way.

The food at this place is very good and the teppanyaki tables are a lot of fun. The prices are good and the restaurant is very clean. I go here all the time.

The staff is friendly. The cooking tables are funny. Food is great. Sushi selection is large and from someone who doesn't eat fish they have a large selection of vegitarian sushi. The Buffett is large and the selection is wonderful. Only bad part is they have no baby changing station in the bathrooms and they close at 11. Other than that I have eaten there at least once a week for a year now.

I can't believe this used to be the old I Party! They really fixed this place up nice and the space is so big it feels like it goes on for days! Nice atmosphere and ambiance. Super friendly staff too. Prices are also great! I could not get over how fresh tasting their Chinese buffet was. I am so picky when it comes to Chinese and this buffet they were over there replacing the old stuff completley instead of dumping fresh stuff on top and mixing it. There was also a very large selection. We went for a Pu Pu Plater one night and I again was bowled over at how it wasn't greasy one bit, the spare ribs not fatty, and the chicken wings were huge! The inside of the eggroll was nice fresh veggies and crunchy and I detected REAL crab in my crab rangoon. We have been for sushi a few times as well. I'm a newbee when it comes to sushi so I can't really compair it to other places but this sushi was sooo very good. I have no complaints about it. Drinks are also fantastic and strong :-)

The food has no taste! This is not fusion cuisine. It's confusion. But the mix drinks are decent. Skip the food.

So excited about a great affordable sushi place in Auburn! I've already been to Jasmine's twice, once for take out and once for lunch. I was very impressed by the modern decor inside, and the quality of the food at decent prices. On both occasions, we had the maki roll lunch special (choice of 2 rolls, add a 3rd roll for only $3, and a choice of soup or salad - all for about $8), and the sushi lunch special (choice of 1 roll, and chef's selection of 4 pieces of sushi, and choice of soup or salad - all for less than $9). The fish was fresh, I especially liked my spicy tuna roll, because it was the chopped up kind, mixed with the right amount of spicy mayo (some places put way too much, and I hate the spicy tuna rolls that come drenched with spicy mayo across the top), and some panko bread crumbs. The miso soup was also flavored well, not too salty. I'm originally from NYC where there are almost as many sushi places as there are Starbucks, so fierce competition keeps prices low and quality high, so I'm very pleased that there is now an affordable, decent sushi place in Auburn that I can enjoy regularly. I took a stroll through the buffet area, and the lunch buffet looked pretty good with a large variety of dishes, but I have yet to try it. The staff is also friendly. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes at Jasmine's.

WE went here for the lunch buffet today. It was huge! We went to the Mandarin the other day in Milford and I have to say that Jasmine was much better. I tried so many things and honestly I didn't have anything that was gross or that I didn't like or finish. I tried an eggroll, crab rangoons, a chicken skewer, some boneless pork ribs, california roll sushi, some sauted shrimp and surimi, green beans, honey chicken, sesame chicken, chicken and broccoli, lo mein noodles (which for a change were actually good). They had four different tables to choose from, everything was fresh and tasty looking, not like it had been sitting there for hours or anything. If anything it's the first asian buffet I have been too where I had a hard time not just eating everything because everything was very enticing. I did try a piece of sushi that had salmon in it that I didn't like, and one deep friend scallop. Other then that it was all good, fresh, and high quality. Dessert was all mini pieces of like chocolate cake, cream puffs, and some mini eclairs. None of those rocked my world but I was way to full by then to really care. Total cost was $12.17 with tip! Not to bad for lunch I think! Definitely recommend the buffet!

I have never been disappointed at Jasmine. We eat there regularly. The lunch buffet is huge - tons of choices: pu-pu offerings, noodle dishes, soups, veg sushi, desserts, rices, fresh fruit... So much food! I have also been for 'drinks & apps' in the bar, a large party in the back room, and casual dinner from the menu. All experiences were good. Good service, delicious food, clean dining area.

While the food I got was fine they forgot part of the order. For that reason I can't recommend them and I won't be going back. If you go be sure to the order before you accept it.

I tried primarily sushi here, hoping to find good sushi close to home after I moved near Auburn. Disappointingly, the sushi and the limited amount of other food that I tried at Jasmine was decidedly mediocre. Yong Shin is only about 10 minutes from Jasmine and has better food on all fronts ( although Jasmine has better service than Yong Shin)

We were out in the Auburn area and asked for a recommendation. 3 people promptly recommended Jasmine. The restaurant is in a small strip mall. Much to our surprise the small storefront footprint opened to a huge restaurant with hibachi grills and a sushi bar. We were in time for the lunch buffet and were very pleased with the offerings. The serving area was always being refilled They had a couple of sushi items and an array of soup choices as well as a heavenly roasted pork tenderloin. This was a large buffet. We were pleased. They also had a sushi bar-I'd love to try that some time. We will definitely come back!

Jasmine... What happened!!! We enjoyed the Jasmine take out and dine in from the moment they opened the doors until just about a year ago and then each time we went it got perpetually worse!!! Everything from the duck sauce to the meals is ROUGH! I would now not recommend this to ANYONE!!

  • Kelli M.

Will say we only give it 2 stars because scorpion bowls are pre-made... Salad was totally drenched in salad dressing... Not once did anyone ask if we were in fact enjoying our meal... The establishment was nice... Sushi was average (didn't order Specialty rolls though...) maybe that's why the rolls weren't special... Would go back to try again... But in no hurry...

Surprised to see this is at 3 1/2 stars. Some of the worst chinese take out I have had. Friend's said they got good Chinese take out in Auburn. Only 2 restaurants in Auburn. I choose based on yelp rating. I choose wrong. Worse take out than empire village in sturbridge which I won't go back it is so bad. It appears yelp bases it's rating more heavily on more recent reviews so I needed to adjust for some recent 5 stars. Really??? I am basing on take out only though.Maybe they have good dine in and sushi. If you want good sushi though in central mass you need to go to Kaizan in Sturbridge. I guess I will try Yong Shing next.

I can only review for my only visit. It was so so. Lemon chicken lacked lemon flavor. It was more like plain tempura chicken. Perhaps the chef forgot the lemon sauce or something. The Celtic roll was good. It also seemed like I caught the staff on a short handed night.

Usually when my hubby and I opt for Chinese takeout we hit Yong Shing. We've been living in Auburn for about 7 years and finally decided to try out Jasmine instead. You don't know until you try...well we tried and now we know...we wont be back. Here is my experience, when I called to order the girl answering the phone was friendly, and repeated my order back, all good! I ordered General Gau's chicken for my husband, crispy beef for myself, a small side of boiled rice, a side of pork fried rice, and a small hot n sour soup. Now, yes this is a lot of food, 2 meals, 2 sides of rice, and a soup but still I was a bit shocked when I went to pick up the order and it was 39 dollars. We order the same deal at the Shing (meals, sides of rice, and soup) and it usually runs us about 28-30 bucks. Ok, so I said to myself 10 bucks more...whatever the food will be amazing...NO! Food was average at best. My crispy beef was not at all what I expected. The meat took some inspecting from my husband and I to make sure it was actually beef. They loaded the dish up with so much thick sticky sauce that it made my crispy beef into soggy beef. Also, the sauce was extremely spicy and there was so much sauce you couldn't get away from it, it completely overpowered any other flavor that could of been. My husband said the general Gau's and pork fried rice was good but nothing remarkable. The hot n sour soup was flavorful but it was lukewarm when I got home and I live about 8 minutes away...on the other hand the crispy beef was scorching hot (temperature) so it makes me think the soup was sitting around in a warmer...maybe on the buffet line? So bottom line, we will continue to go to Yong Shing for takeout, and to Feng in Millbury for dining in.

Here you have a good choice of Chinese/American, a little bit of Thai, sushi, and a hibachi grill. I've been here twice and both times have been pleased. Any dish with beef will have good chunks of beef rather than the sometimes thin and fatty kind you tend to get at cheaper Chinese places. Their vegetables are always steamed just right, so nothing soggy and nothing undercooked. Their alcoholic beverages are probably the best deal, as they are on the lower end and are very strong. Lastly, I had the sashimi at my last visit, and I was very impressed. The presentation was good, and had nice extra touches like julienned cucumber, lemon slices, and pickled ginger that was not artificially colored pink. The fish was fresh, did not taste or smell fishy at all, and the sushi chefs were fast and clearly knew what they were doing. The prices are not unreasonable, but nothing to rave about which is why this review gets four stars. It's clean, the waitstaff is as good as it gets when there is a language barrier, and the food has not disappointed yet after a couple of visits.

Went to jasmine for my birthday. 20 person table and I had the worst time there. Soup was cold, to get service or a new drink took forever. Cook got 5 meals wrong and they never apologized for their mistakes or terrible service. All that $. I will never go back there again! Def don't recommend this place to anyone !

    (1)
  • Michael A.

Ok. So I tried it again. This time sushi at the front bar. The service was great, people nice, the sushi as good as I remember, but the presentation was spectacular. So for me, don't do the sushi bar and order Chinese with your sushi. Either get a table, or better yer, the front bar. Going back today.

  • Mark H.

Ehhh...better than fair, but not quite good. The sushi was a bit above average, but their other, Chinese food is nothing amazing. I've had a wide variety of their food because I work very close. I also tried their lunch buffet. It has a nice selection but still very mediocre food. The buffet and dining room attendants were attentive, but they seemed to hang out end congregate at their service station instead of filling waters and prebussing tables. The takeout staff is rude. I've dealt with them about 5 times and I always walk out unpleased.

  • K F.

Unfortunately this place has totally gone down hill. Chinese take out was so hard cold and inedible one day it was like it was made yesteday. The quality of the buffet has gone down and the sushi was lower quality and more fishy smelling meaning less fresh. I am super disappointed as this place was awesome when it first opened. They either changes owners or got greedy trying to cut costs to make more money and letting quality suffer.

    (1)
  • Jenna W.

The service was decent and everyone was especially kind to my young toddler. But the food was mediocre (surprisingly, the items from the Japanese part of the menu were better than our Chinese items - I've usually found it to be the opposite at other restaurants that offer both Japanese and Chinese menus). There are no changing tables in either the men's or women's bathrooms. Unfortunately all of us had tummy aches later in the evening. I'm not sure it was from the food at Jasmine, as we had stopped on our way home from several days of family holiday celebrations, so it's just as likely that it was food from elsewhere or simple holiday overindulgence.

  • Emily M.

Love the lunch buffet and it is a great price. You will not be disappointed in the variety that is offered. I also really enjoy the hibachi. It is expensive but delicious. If you get hibachi I recommend the filet. It's worth the few extra dollars. I would not recommend the take out. For some reason the takeout does not seem to match the dine in. Take out is flavorless and poor quality. Not sure how this is possible since it comes fro. The same kitchen but it is not the same quality.

  • Samantha W.

My fiancée and I have eaten here and gotten take out many times and love everything we have tried. It always tastes fresh and clean... Unlike some places that even smell like old burnt oil. The prices are good and it would be my first choice for local take out !!

Let's face it, Central Mass is not a hotbed of good Asian (sushi, thai, chinese) food but this place is a nice little gem. Forgive the placement in a nondescript strip mall - the interior of this place is surprisingly decent. We've never done the hibachi but it seems to be popular, with lots of hoots and hollers. What this place does is good, solid Asian food. Their sushi is fresh and tasty. As vegetarians, the sesame tofu is a very nice find. If you have dietary preferences, you need to be super specific with your server and ask with every sauce they serve (they've served fish sauce with vegetable tempura after being told we don't eat fish). I love their spicy string beans. Good mai tais that don't burn your eyebrows off. Only critic, it would be nice if they offered brown rice. Amazingly good value. Take out is good and surprisingly accurate.

Again a stop on our way off the Cape - nice staff and good value. Lots of locals come here and that's usually a positive sign. 3 separate areas of bar, Hibachi grill room and 2 Chinese themed dining rooms. Food was above average in a nice atmosphere with attentive wait staff and a large menu. Shrimp with chili sauce was great and shumai was tasty. My son ordered a large dish of Chicken Lo Mein and devoured most of it. Definitely worth the stop and is on our list for Asian food. Chow on...

When I called for a reservation, the woman on the phone had all the charm of a pith viper. She was rude and pushy, practically refusing our request for 10. Because no one else had seating when we wanted, we wound up going anyway. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy, yet it still took almost 15 minutes for them to pepare our table. (We did not sit at a hibachi, but a regular table.) The sushi was passable, but nothing spectacular. The same for the cocktails. Our waitress was pleasant, but by now the overall impression had been damaged. I may give them another chance sometime down the road, but it won't be anytime soon.

Jasmines is a great place for good food. But the waiters suck I recently experienced this at jasmines the waitress (Helen) came over and gave us dirty cups with residue floating in them and we had to ask a person walking by our table to please grab our waitress because she was no were to be found we waited 10 mins for her to just come over to the table to get us new drinks. But the glasses were even worse they had brown wash rings on them. She walked away before we could even say we no longer want them so we waited another 30-40mins to place our order and we ended up waiting 30 just to see our food and it was stale and cold. When she gave us our check we split the payment and she argued with us about doing two different payments and was not satisfied with us. She came back and gave us the stubs to sign and needless to say we did not leave her a tip and she came back and started arguing with us about how we did not leave a tip for her and she slammed the bill on the table and demanded us we had to leave her a tip. Needless to say I will not be going back and nether will my friends!

A solid chinese place, better of the two in auburn. It is always packed for lunch, so easy to get hot fresh food. The sushi is mediocre, but if you don't want to go to tenka in westborough or a more expensive place in worcester, a good place to go. The drinks are nice and stiff.

So tucked between a Shop & Pack and the TJMaxx in a desolate looking strip mall does not inspire confidence. But went in anyway. And had a delicious Chirashi sushi. Very fresh fish, generous portions, a very tasty tamago (egg omelet) and vinegared rice. Probably could go for five stars. Except when I order green tea I do not want a cup with a tea bag. I could have brought my own. Service was good, fast and friendly. May have to check out more desolate strip malls

Unexpectedly fine dining behind the simple frontage. Good buffet but could have more choices for the price. We just ordered entrees the second time and that was worth the money spent. Offers Teppanyaki style dining and bar. Nice ambience.

This is a good Chinese restaurant for the area and I am a regular there. There is one thing that has me really upset and that is being overcharged on the bill. It always seems to be the drinks. Now I know mistakes happen but this is the fifth time it's happened to me. I especially don't like it when the server tries to argue with me and tells me that I had 2 beers when I know I had just one. I think I'll take a vacation from this place for a while.

The selection for the buffet is awesome! The only problem is, I like General Tso's Chicken.. and when I cut into the middle of a piece of General's, I like to see a nice chunk of white meat chicken, not dark grey, crunchy yet chewy hard grissley chicken.. other than that, the other food is pretty good. The price for the buffet on the weekend is only $10, which is pretty good for the amount of choices you have, just stay away from the Generals, and choose something else! The Japanese food is also DELICIOUS, but at $20 for a basic chicken meal with fried rice, its not really worth it...

One of my favorite Chinese food restaurants. I have ordered out every time I've had their food, so I will not comment on the wait staff. Their food and sauces, includes their duck sauce, is by far in my top three. Their lunch and dinner specials are plentiful, but I prefer their lunch specials as they are about three dollars cheaper. A small hidden gem in a big plaza, a definite destination for your next craving.

Came for the buffet today with my sister and 2 nieces.. Everything was pretty good!! Large selection of chinese stir fry foods, 3 different soups, 4 different kinds of sushi, ice cream, fruit and bland cake, packaged cookies, pudding and jello for dessert. SUSHI..meh..2.5 stars.. DESSERT..meh..2 stars... Variety and taste of the food...regular greasy chinese.. ...good 3 stars... value and price for the options..good 3 stars... Crazy... but my niece and I liked most of all...The Fries...more like potato wedges but very tasty...

Who does not like Chinese food? But more to the point; who has not been disappointed in the past with bland food, dry rice, etc when you have gone to or have ordered pick up from a Chinese food restaurant? Well...I am here to tell you that the food here at Jasmine is DELICIOUS! To be fair, we have only ordered take out and appetizers. But that is what we typically order at any Chinese restaurant. Everything that we have had has been tops to satisfy/exceed our standard. We order pork fried rice (moist, and is not just rice with pork) chicken fingers (crispy and the chicken is moist), boneless ribs (very thin and barely any fat), beef teriyaki (lean, moist, and flavorful), chicken wings (good balance between flavor, moisture, dryness, and are not chewy), and pork strips. We have ordered from here many times now since moving to Charlton 3 years ago. When we have had people over they have ordered other things like crab ran goo, and they have all agreed that everything was delicious! It is a 15 minute trip from our home to Jasmine, along the way we pass a number of other Chinese options, but 30 minutes for a round trip is just worth it because of how good the food is. The people have always been very pleasant. We will someday try dining in, perhaps for the buffet which I have heard all good things about too. Very satisfied!

This place came very highly recommended and we had been here for the lunch buffet on Father's Day which we all enjoyed. This was our second time here and most of food was good except some of the sushi except the red snapper which for some reason was tough.. Our lovely server was very nice but did not speak much English and screwed a couple things up by mistake All in all the atmosphere is gorgeous and the food really good. The servers and bartenders in the lounge are great too.

The building is larger on the inside than it looks from the outside, there is a bar area, two separate dining areas and a hibachi section. I've only ever ate in the bar or dining areas, I haven't tried their hibachi yet. As far as the food goes they have a buffet as well as a menu you can order from. The buffet is good and I usually get it when I go so I can have a variety of different items instead of only 1 or 2 from the menu. They also have sushi at the buffet and a separate menu if you just want to order it. It's good, not great, but certainly the best place in auburn for Sushi.

  • Dan S.

Not sure if they have new chefs now but the last couple times I've been there it had been awful. Rice was dry with zero flavor. Chicken was over cooked and rock hard. Crab rangoons, we'll I don't really know what went wrong there I'm not actually sure what I ate. Had the lunch buffet a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure the only good thing I had were the donuts. The sushi I had literally fell apart before I could take a bite. Not a very good showing for them as of late.

    (1)
  • Misty S.

Our service was good, but I can't say the same about the food. The menu is too large for them to really be good at one thing. The sushi was probably the best thing we tried. The pad thai was awful. I can't believe they can even call it Pad Thai. My mom got tempura vegetables and they came out as these huge fried things (looked like whole fried carrots from the outside!). Really unattractive presentation, so bad you couldn't tell what the vegetables were. Drinks were hit or miss. I had a very good martini, but my mom had what she called "the worst drink she ever tasted"- one of their specialty drinks which was fruit juice and sour mix mainly. She sent it back and got a martini. I'm not sure I'd go back, I much prefer going to Kaizen in Sturbridge for Sushi and I think I'll skip the Thai food until I'm back in Boston.

I recently moved to town and made sure to immediately track down a "go to" Chinese food spot and I can definitely say I've found it! The food is excellent and the drinks are fairly priced yet generously poured. I typically have a seat at the bar, order a Mai tai and order up traditional Chinese fair like General Tso's, but I've recently tried some specialty dishes like the Imperial Couple (sautéed shrimp and scallops with assorted vegetables) that was delicious. I have tried everything from takeout, to the impressive lunch buffet to the always entertaining hibachi and have loved every bit of it. It goes to show you never to judge a book by its cover as this gem is hidden in a strip mall on route 12. Highly recommended!

  • Andy F.

There are a lot better choices around than this place, a mix of regular Cantonese/American Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese food with some sushi. The place itself is dark and kind of trashy looking, but then it's in a strip mall so I'm not sure why I was surprised by that. While it did remind me of a place we ate at in Tokyo, it wasn't a happy memory so we won't be back.

My absolute favorite place to go! the service has always been really great, very print in taking my order as well as putting food on the table quickly! They are polite and check back a few times as well! Very clean and well designed place! I've noticed that the bathrooms are especially kept up, as well as the carpet! BIG BONUS! They also have a Buffett during lunch hours, as well as a sushi bar (a little more expensive). For the cost of each plate, you do get a very large amount of food, which is always a plus, especially with Chinese food! Definitely a must try!!

My sons and I love this place. I have a picky eater, and he gets the buffett and never a complaint. I love sushi and Jasmine does a great job! I have not had their Habachi yet. but I have heard good things from friends. I even took my Mother there for the buffet and she really liked it. I have gone several times and each time I have been pleased with the food and wait time. There is a large Bar with a large TV. a seperate room with Habachi tables, a very large dinning room, suhi bar, and a large buffett. Don't judge this place by the outside, it is very nice inside and alot bigger than it looks. It's too bad it is in such a run down plaza. Because I think they would do more business if the area were better looking, and the parking wasn't so haphazzard.

We stopped in today for the lunch buffet and we were not disappointed. Located in a strip mall, I wasn't expecting much as i walked up to the building. It looks much nicer on the inside. The staff was very friendly, and our glasses never stayed empty for long. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. If someone had just put a plate of food in front of me, I never would have guessed that it was from a buffet. Everything tasted as if it had just been cooked. We can't wait to come back for a sit down meal.

Ok so I wrote a previous great review for this place. The food is always good but it's such a hit or miss. I've given it multiple chances, wanted to believe it wasn't the food that was getting me sick and have now gotten sick probably 6 or 7 times total out of the 15 or so times I've gone there. I've gone and been completely fine before. Last time I went with 3 friends and we all got sick. I've gone and had only one friend get sick and myself be fine. My other friend is sworn off the place and Chinese in general since she got terrible food poisoning and has never returned. So I know 5 people, 6 including myself who have gotten sick or food poisoning from the place. Jasmine please clean up your kitchen or practice proper sanitary behavior.

While their sushi is very good, I don't like their Chinese food much. The pork fried rice is probably the worst I've ever had. They do have the hibachi grills (cook the food in front of you), and the food there is pretty good. I would recommend sitting there or getting the sushi. Skip the menu Chinese.

Fair sushi, chef is actually good, nicely prepared. Quality of the fish itself is a 7/10. I would go back and mainly stick to their maki.

Surprised by the negative reviews here, this place is quite simply the best Chinese food around Central Mass. The fried food is cooked nice and crisp (Like it should be), the veggies are colorful and cooked to perfection. Portions are very good, I like to take home extra food and Jasmines gives you plenty. I would and do recommend it to anyone.
