I understand, it's a hamburger joint not a restaurant. But when the staff is all college age and their friends come in and hang at the counter while they make your food then I have a problem. I also don't understand why they give you your order in pieces. Drink, fries, then burger. I don't want to have to jump up and down from my table. Just give it to me at once. The hamburger was ok, but appeared to be literally thrown together. When it was handed to me the top bun slid off to reveal the slab of tomato and the pound of iceberg lettuce. It would have been a better experience if I ate at a dining hall.

My boyfriend and I came here over the weekend and the food was good. The burgers are small so you may have to get two (or three, like my boyfriend!) He had been before and knew they were small so he knowingly ordered more than one. Next time I'll have to order more than one. Anyway, burgers were tasty, fries good too. Only con I'd say is it's a little awkward how they give you your order as they give it in pieces. Here's how it played out: they called our name so I got up to only be given my boyfriends burgers. So I brought them to the table and sat down. Then a few minutes later, they called our name again and gave me my burger. Then, I sat down, again... Then, they called my name AGAIN and I went up and got our fries...and sat down again! Again, the process was awkward and annoying. Perhaps they should give out orders at once in their entirety.

Short version: Decent fries, crappy burger. Long version: I don't get the hype. The beef is super thin and poor quality. Really bland with little bits of gristle throughout. Like mystery meat, couldn't really taste any beefiness at all! The veggies were nothing special (leave the tomato out, it's pale and just tastes cold) and actually made the burger less than lukewarm. It's one of the worst burgers I've had in years (I don't eat burgers at the fast-food chains.) I actually thought about not finishing the burger but I was hungry and it was pretty tiny. The fries were crispy but there was a slightly off taste, as if they had been fried in a different type of oil than the usual. Yeah, they're cheap but honestly? I'd rather pay the couple of extra bucks for a higher quality burger (with more meat!). Totally not worth my $5.

These teeny burgers are fairly good, but overpriced. White Hut burgers remind me of a slightly fancier White Castle or Krystal burger...but at least double the price. The fries are actually delicious - always piping hot and crispy. Every time I get White Hut, I'm the only customer in the store, and by the looks of the bored staff, the only customer to have come in for a really long time. I guess business starts really picking up during the weekend bar hours, when drunk college students aren't in the mood for an Antonio's slice. What really irritates me about White Hut is the hours. On weekday nights, they're closed by 9 pm (and sometimes the door locks earlier). I'm pretty sure my visits to White Hut would have tripled in frequency if they extended their hours to at least 10 pm on weekdays.

Really great burgers, but they are a little overpriced. It's conveniently located in Amherst center, which is good, but the price is just such a deterrent. Other than that, definitely worth checking out

We went there today in hopes of a burger and fries! Got to the door and the sign said, "closing today (February 14th) at 5:00. Well we were there at 2:00 on February 16th and they were closed??? This is actually the third time we've driven there and had it be closed. I know this wouldn't happen in West Springfield, but that's a lot farther to travel. It's a real bummer, and would probably just drive to Tom's in Whately, knowing that they'll be open.

It is a burger joint! Do not expect a ribeye! But do expect a great burger with whatever toppings you want. The fries are amazing. 4 stars as I find it a little pricey.... However it does not keep me away!

Delicious food when you're too drunk to drive to West Springfield.

Stopped in for a burger and fries for lunch and was not disappointed. The griilled onions are worth the extra money. Burgers are inexpensive and tasty, and grilled to order. Kind of hard to find since the building is about as far back on Boltwood Walk as you can get. Atmosphere inside is comfortable, place is clean and well lit.

White Hut just opened in Amherst, and they should offer great competition for Antonio's, especially if you don't feel like eating pizza after the bars close. Located in the parking lot behind Stackers, White Hut has burgers, hot dogs and fries. The burgers are good; you have your choice of several different toppings, including carmelized onions. But the fries completely blew us away. They arrived hot, fresh and with the skins still on some of the fries. And White Hut has malt vinegar to put on your fries, making them even tastier! You can sit at one of the counters, either watching the cooks work the grill, or along the wall and eat peacefully. They also offer take out. You will spend about $7 for a meal per person, but the food is good. And who couldn't love the red neon White Hut sign above the entrance (similar to their sign above the West Springfield restaurant). A nice alternative to driving to Hadley for average quality fast food. I'll be going back after I get out of work on the weekends.

So disappointed again. This is the second time in a row that my fiancé and I drove to white hut in Amherst from Easthampton and not been able to eat. The first Sunday two weeks ago we called ahead to see if they were open and no one picked up the phone. It was 5:15pm so we assumed it was busy and weren't able to pick up the call, but that wasn't the case. Their answering service said that they were open until 9. When we got to the entrance the restaurant was closed. The other incident happened tonight. We called ahead and the girl who answered the phone said they were open until 9, so again we made the drive to Amherst to get to the counter to order and they were out of fries. Who runs out of fries on a Friday night?!? We were planning on enjoying an entire meal but that couldn't happen again. Although the burgers and fries are delicious we will not be returning to white hut due to these situations.

I just want to start off by saying that I really enjoy the food from this place, it's a classic burger and fries joint when you're looking for something cheap and satisfying. However, it seems that each time I call their pleasant delivery service (Delivery Express) to place an order, I almost always get a call back saying they are closed, even when it's not Monday! The first few times I called myself, just to check, sure enough there was no answer. The recording in the answering machine even says they should be open! This has been an issue for me many times now, and it's quite upsetting! Enough for me to take the time to write this ranting review.

I only had soft serve ice cream at the White Hut, which was conveniently located next door to where I had my dinner. It seems like some people weren't big fans of the burgers, but since I only had ice cream at the White Hut, I will say that the prices are very reasonable and you get a decent portion of ice cream. If I come back, I may want to check out their Key Lime milkshake, which I was eyeballing before I made my order.

Give you what you want! This burger place is simple and makes a decent burger. The strawberry milkshake was great. I like to get food at a decent price and not at fast-food chains. The service was good and the staff was nice. I give it a thumbs up

Best fried onion burger in town. I usually get two or three! I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Just meh. The burger had little to no flavor save for the condiments put on top of it. The meat was kind of tough and dry. The fries are your standard deep frozen scenario but crunchy and fine if thats what you're in to (I'm not). You would do better flavor and price wise to just do a chain drive through sadly.

White Hut. Classisc place to get some burgers. I have been their at least 10 if not more times. Their shakes are delicious, fries hot, and burgers delicious! The staff is Hot oot! and very nice. They can be generous too you if you are a loyal returning customer. But don't forget, they are closed on Mondays! Only 4 stars because I find them to be a little pricey. Especially the shakes.
