I have been here at least a half dozen times since they opened, and had always intended on getting around to penning a great review. I have been to M.R. for lunch and dinner, and I usually order off the Specials Menu which has always served me well. Even with long waits on weekend evenings, the owner was attentive to those of us in line, making sure we had a cocktail and a comfortable place to wait, even making sure that the honor system was being used for weary customers who would like an open seat at the bar to finish waiting. My husband and I went last night, and I was sorely disappointed. Let me start by saying that my husband's meal was good, but he wasn't quite sure it was worth the price. He ordered the THICK veal chop on the bone from the specials menu, and although fatty, it was cooked medium-rare as he requested. Roasted potatoes and a fresh, perfectly cooked veg medley topped it off. He wasn't a fan of his warm Caesar salad with bland dressing, though. I ordered the tomato & mozzarella salad which is served on a bed of baby greens. When the feature presentation of the salad is four slices of tomato, and four slices of cheese, all four of the tomato slices should be presentation-quality. One was hard, orange, and included the inedible yellow core. If I were in the kitchen, I would cut the sides of that tomato for a different salad, and find ONE other decent slice to finish off the cornerstone of a salad with the word TOMATO in the name. Just sayin. I ordered from their "homemade pasta" section, and chose a Bolognese to top it. The "homemade" pasta was shells. Medium shells. I'll be damned if they were homemade. They were cooked spot-on al dente, but they did not have the feel of any homemade pasta I've ever had. If they were homemade, they should have saved time and used Barilla (although I suspect they did). They should also use larger shells to support their sauce choices. My real problem: Bolognese. I was not served Bolognese as I know it. I was served a fine tasting meat and tomato sauce, but it needs to be redefined on the menu. My little shells were floating in a sea of soupy red sauce that was abundant in meat and chunks of tomato that were larger than the meat chunks and the shells. This is where they could have thrown my crappy salad tomato and it would have fit right in. Bolognese shouldn't really have any "soup" in the bottom of the bowl. It should be slow simmered meat that is thick and bound by a rich, creamy tomato base. Fine tasting...I usually cannot eat the red sauce at any restaurant because it is usually too sweet or heavy handed with dried seasonings. This is fresh and homemade tasting, lacking that corn-syrupy-sauce-from-a-jar flavor that haunts most restaurants. It just wasn't Bolognese. I'll definitely go there again, because solid Italian food in this area is a rarity, and their track record as a whole has been far better than what I got last night. Based on typical customer service and attentiveness, I suspect that if I complained, I would have been taken care of. It was late, I was tired and wanted to leave...so my bad for not giving them a chance to make good.

My fiance and I loooooove this place!! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the drinks are good!! The owner is the host to make sure everything is being ran correctly and that everyone is happy. There is always a wait...which stinks but figuring its the best food around, you cant blame them. The atmosphere is casual and very comfortable. Highly recommended!!

I took my fiance out to Mia Regazza for his birthday on recomendation by a friend. Without knowing anything about it I thought it would be a little bit more on the fancy side, but it is much more casual than I expected. That being said, we had a really great time. The waitress, whose name escapes me, was just great! She was the perfect mix of humor and business. Their bread is just so-so but the oil and cheese they bring it with it makes it above average. The food was great! We got the seafood stuffed mushrooms and they were delicious, for our meals we got the meditteranean pasta and the vegitable panini- both very delicious! Pair that with a few good glasses of wine, a crackiling fireplace, and nice atmosphere and you have a great night out! We had their house dessert- which we didn't love (it was a puff pastry with icecream and whipped cream, big enough to share but the pastry wasn't good, the ice cream and chocolate was though!) but their cheesecake looked amazing! We will be back for sure!

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. I have not had a bad meal here. Awesome specials and very good regular menu. New room is really nice and I enjoy the outside dining in the summer. Service is generally good but not professional. I would recommend to all.

Great place! Limited tables but worth the wait. Staff very friendly, takes great pride in their place. Food is excellent...little bit of everything on the menu, something for everyone.

went there for supper 11/26 as we don't feel like cooking after the big Thanksgiving day. Service was great! They made sure our water glass and drinks are filled the entire time. The waitress came to check in on us every now and then. They kept checking on us to see if we want extra bread. Excellent service. On to the food. The good: Dad had their broiled swordfish with seafood stuffing and newburg sauce. Fish was cooked perfectly, the seafood stuffing on top was a little over broiled. Newburg sauce was spot on. Dad also had the clam chowder to start. He loved it. The mediocre: My aunt had their chicken marsala. It was okay as with other restaurants. They never used enough marsala wine in the dish. Not bad, just nothing to write home about. Mum had the eggplant parmigiana. I had a bite. You can tell the eggplant was pre-fried and they coated it with sauce before serving it to you. The eggplant was cold while the sauce and linguine were warm through. You get the idea. The bad: I had their stuffed bell pepper with vegetable risotto filling. It was listed on their appetizer menu. The dish is just bland and the bell pepper was all mushed up. I guess I have expected the bell pepper to retain some bite to it. The risotto was mushy too. We'll probably come back for the fish since we tasted dad's swordfish steak and it was really good.

If you like very loud, very busy restaurants this place is for you! Make a reservation!!! The food is fabulous the antipasto for one feed four and there was still some left! My wife had the steak tips and lobster tail the best steak tip WE ever had , I had the 20oz boneless prime rib cooked to perfection could almost cut it with a fork. They just opened recently and have already outgrown the facility.

I received a gift certificate to go here and decided to go for my anniversary. The evening began when I spotted a man get out of his car in the parking lot, stand in front of his headlights against a fence, and pee....while his girlfriend was in the car. Then he got back in the car, parked in a different spot, and walked into the restaurant. Needless to say I was shocked. When we got into the restaurant, we were seated under a bright television that was very distracting. Our waitress was preoccupied and barely paid any attention to us. We didn't even get drink refills until halfway through our meal. I started with an antipasto salad. I do not eat seafood so ordered it without the tuna. When it arrived, it was covered with a big thing of stinky tuna. When I brought it up to the waitress, she said I was given the wrong salad and brought me a new one. This one was good, but was missing four big pepperoncini peppers that I was really looking forward to. The salad with tuna had them! My boyfriend's caesar salad was okay, nothing special. My antipasto salad was about the same. We also had the garlic bread, which was anything buy garlicky. It was just a cheap half baguette toasted with a little butter. There was barely any garlic taste, and certainly no cheese. For dinner, I got the Chicken and Sausage Alforno. "Chicken tenderloins and sweet Italian sausage sautéed with tomatoes and scallions in a roasted garlic sauce tossed with penne pasta, baked with fresh mozzarella cheese and garnished with garlic bread" It was horribly bland, and DEFINITELY not baked. No seasoning, didn't taste any garlic. It was very watery and needed plenty of salt and pepper to even take a few bites. The mozzarella was just a big, sad lump of misshapen cheese on top of the pasta. i was hoping for bubbly, melted cheese....and some flavor. I could barely eat the few bites I did. My boyfriend got the Seafood Fra Diavolo: "Fresh shrimp, scallops and mussels sautéed in a fresh spicy hot tomato sauce served over linguine." He loves seafood and gets this dish often at other restaurants. He took a few bites and thought it was okay. He had a mussel, thought it tasted funny but could have just been the sauce. Then he went to eat another mussel and said that they were definitely not right, bad. He could not eat anymore of his meal. Throughout all of this, the waitress never came to our table. I was waiting for her to mention the meals, but only the bus boy (man) came to our table and asked if we would like our dinners wrapped. It was awkward, the food was not good, and we just wanted to get out of there. We paid our bill with the gift certificate (thank God it wasn't our own money) and left. Since we were both still hungry, we had ice cream at Peaceful Meadows down the street. We would NEVER eat there again. The service was bad, the food was bland and lousy. When I want Italian food, I will either make my own or head to the North End. Or go to Maria's in Braintree, they are wonderful!

They used to be good. Always had good food and such. But recently they seem so short staffed and its turning into another sports bar. We used to go there.for romantic dinners... now we can't even hear each other over the bar. So I don't see us continuing to go there even though we were always an old customer there. I am very disappointed in what it has become

We really wanted to love this place. It's close to home and the reviews sounded positive for the most part. When we first made our way to our table, we were impressed by how crowded the place was. Then again, it was 8 pm on a Saturday night. We enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the room. Our waitress was attentive and polite. Even though we waited about 35 minutes for our meal, seeing others receive their huge portions of food made us somewhat patient. My husband ordered the Haddock Regazza. The description said, Fresh local haddock, lightly breaded, then broiled and topped with three medium shrimp and Newburg sauce. Served with roasted potatoes and chef's vegetable. My husband said that even though it had (a very bland, thin) Newberg sauce on it, the haddock was a little dry and it wasn't even breaded. The shrimp that topped it were flavorless. It was like they just boiled them, the placed them on top of the haddock and covered it with pink sauce. The veg were over cooked and mushy. Lastly, the roasted potatoes we're just ok. Overall, it was bland and not seasoned. We rarely use the salt and pepper on the tables. But today we definitely needed to help season the food. I had a Saturday special that consisted of split, grilled, stuffed lobster tail, grilled steak tips, bacon wrapped grilled scallops with asparagus and roasted potatoes. Again, bland. We both agreed that the lobster was extremely chewy. The stuffing was a flavorless, mushy mess. I asked for medium steak tips and they were very rare. However the tips were huge and tasted of the grill. The scallops were the best part of this plate. They were soft and flavorful with the perfectly cooked bacon that wrapped 3 huge scallops. I wished I had some sort of sauce on my plate. Especially for the dry, chewy lobster. Although our meal was mediocre, my husband and I would like to give this restaurant another try. We will try the pasta next time and hope for the best.

Great management! Waitress was so so and waiting area is small but the food came out hot and was delicious!

Excellent food!! It used to be very noisey and loud in there, but ever since they opened up a new room...it's a lot better!!

Went for lunch with my grandma. Great food but the wait staff is slow and the rooms acoustics make so you can clearly hear people from the other side off the room.

Popped in onto Mia Regazza Tuesday night. Bartender was cute and fun. The wine was great. The meal was great. They have Keno! I peeked at the menu and was impressed but i already had intentions of trying their chicken broccoli and ziti. It was tasty... I chuckled when reading an earlier review saying their sauce tastes like chicken soup...Because it does a little, but by no means was i disappointed. It was jazzed up with garlic and cheeses. I wanted to lick my plate it was so good! The chicken was awesome, lots of tree tops and perfect portion of pasta. Oh and a bonus, on Tuesdays you get a free glass of house wine with any entree....woohoo!!!

There's so much that's right about this place, there's a reason it's jammed-packed on a Sunday at 5 o'clock. The hostess said it would be about a half-hour wait, and she was almost to the minute. The bartender... Dan needs to work on his priorities. Filling up the little free goldfish bowls for diners to snack on should probably come after getting drinks. Even the wife noticed. The service at the table was 5 star. Our waitress Sara went above and beyond the call of duty. My wife likes Riesling, but she only likes it sweet, which she did not get at the bar. Sara (by the way, rocking some other tables) went to the bar to get a sample of the other brand they carried, and by sample it was practically a glass, which was spot on. Instead of dropping off the standard bread, she asked if we wanted it. Some people might think that lazy, I think that should be standard. We didn't want it. We wanted to save our appetite for the good stuff, not the free bread. She checked back often, but never intrusive. The food. The starter was bacon wrapped scallops with a maple syrup glaze. Like that crappy movie with Nick Cage... Gone in 60 seconds. The wife had the eggplant parm, which she loved. Normally I try a bite or two (or three) of whatever she gets, but I'm not a fan of eggplant. She was happy with it. Even happier that the portion was so large that she got to bring some home. I went with one of the specials, the Chef Geraldos mixed grill. That's a better way to say "Surf and Turf", and it wasn't the usual steak and lobster. The lobster has a balsamic glaze, which just makes the lobster sweeter, and the stuffed shrimp... I had to eat mine before the wife got hold of one. I wish that I could have had 2 more of the shrimp. The steak... Just ok. I ordered medium rare, but it came out rare. Not that I mind, I like it like that. I wound up taking most of that home, because I was that full. The wife ate my veggies (not your usual steamed broccoli) and even the rice it came with was good. All in all, another great meal, and tremendous service. Don't be shy about taking the dessert to go either.

We go to Mia Regazza every couple of weeks and have never had a bad meal. The service has always been good to excellent as well. The outdoor patio, open during the warmer months, is my favorite. The bar makes you feel like you're on vacation (if you can forget the parking lot is surrounding you). There is also a firepit out there which creates a nice ambiance. As for the dining room it tends to get crowded fairly early on the weekends and is pretty full during the week as well so sometimes the wait can be annoying but getting a drink/seat at the bar isn't usually too hard. There is keno there which i wasn't such a fan of since that doesn't really mesh in my mind with a good restaurant. The bread is also very good with the oil, parmesan and spices. Overall a go-to place.

It's ironic that, for an Italian restaurant, the worst dishes are the Italian ones. The pasta is no great shakes - sauce is unremarkable. Actually, the best dish there is the fish & chips. But, for better or worse, the portions are generous.. On the plus side, service is excellent, and outdoor patio in the summer is relaxing and you can take your time without feeling rushed. Good selection of wines. Parking can be very limited on weekends. Ultimately, Mia Regazza should leave the italian cooking to the North End....

My husband and I went for dinner tonight(7/25) and we are very disappointed with the food. The waitress was very friendly and the drinks were great! The lobster ravioli appetizer was good but my pan seared scallops were on the burnt side, way over cooked and rubbery. The risotto was mushy and way too salty. I only ate 2 of the 4 scalllops and a few forkfulls of risotto and this is one of my favorite dishes at other restaurants. My husband got the lasagna and it was definately NOT homemade, it was bland. The sauce was definately canned or jarred. He ate MAYBE half. This was our first time going there and we don't plan on going again. I didnt have the heart to tell the waitress that I didn't want to wrap the rest of my food but my husband told her he didn't want his. I purposely left my "doggie bag" on the table when we left. We think they need to hire a new cook!

We went back here for the Prime Rib special. Every one of us loved our dinner and we all ordered our meat to a different color/temperature. I had given up ordering prime rib out of frustration. This was delicious and cooked exactly as they described. Service was excellent. It's a long drive for us, but well worth it!

I ordered a lobster roll with fries for take out for my wife's early mothers day gift... She said it was delicious but nog worth the 16.99. We found out the same roll is 9.99 during certain hours of business...at that price it would have been a 5 star rating... We will return for sit down service in the future.

This place is awesome. A little pricey but that keeps it classy - to me its worth it. The lasagna and their meatball subs are killer. The outdoor bar in the summer is a good time too.

Jeez Louise!!! Great Italian food without going into the city and affordable welcomed lobster, outstanding! We were greeted by the owner last friday evening as we entered and seated by him too...a little impressed : ) I would give this place 5 stars but I was expected the bread basket to have more variety or at least the thick, moist, holey bread with hard crust, which of course I can't remember the name...anyways. We had the seafood stuffed quahogs for an app. Delish and topped with a fresh jumbo shrimp and some yummy red-creamy sauce. For dinner we both ordered off the specials menu (it's on there website and updated nightly). I had the Chicken Regazza ( sausage raviolis, broccolitini, sauteed chicken tenderloins in an alfredo cream sauce and julienned veggies) and Ry had the baked stuffed lobster. Superb! We will definitely return when we can because they do not take reservations for parties less than 4 and we have tried to eat here twice with an hour or more wait. Now we know why there is always a wait!

Overall friendly place, reasonable price and plentiful portions, but..no wow factor . Tried one of the specials for the night swordfish Mediterranean .Lots of cubed pieces of swordfish and more than enough pasta but trying to figure out the sauce, kind of thick ..tasted like chicken soup...I don't know. Veal Marsala had a thick brown gravy, without any hint of Marsala wine. Veal was tender and again portion size was plentiful Seems very busy and well run, a good local spot, freindly server and bar staff

My husband and I have been going to Mia Regazza's at least once a month for the past 3 years. The food and service was always good. Then recently the service and food has gone down hill. We were seated in the back room that was very noisy, we had to send back a drink because it was made wrong, the appetizer came out missing half the order, we were ignored by the wait staff and I had to get up from the table and and track down the waitress to get more water. We have friends that have also had the same experience. Has their success gone to their heads? I doubt we will be back.

scallops and bacon with maple glaze are amazing. I have not tried a lot of other things at the restaurant but was recently at a party with food catered from here and loved all of it.

OK, so I have been to this place a couple times since my first awesome visit, and I've had some just OK dishes but sometimes it really is phenomenal. Just visited again last Sunday and one dish was good with some flaws, the other really not so great. My boyfriend's steak was awful. It had a weird flavor, was kind of tough and there wasn't much it, I guess that doesn't matter though because like I said it really tasted terrible. The lobster tail it came with was small, the meat hard to remove from shell and no special tools were offered to do so, It did come with one shrimp, as well, and that was good. It was 24.99 for that and even if it was good tasting, we felt the portions size was rather small. I got pasta with lobster and shrimp and the lobster and shrimp were great, there was also good amount of it, but unfortunately did not care for the sauce which was a very buttery, scallion-tomato. They say they are "The best restaurant on the South Shore" definitely not true. They are okay though & I would go back. On that bad night the pasta was overcooked, the prosciutto tasted strange and the tomatoes- not fresh. My boyfriend's pizza was more like a piece of flat bread with cheese and barely any sauce, for $7. His chicken parm sandwich was very bland and the fries were soggy and flavorless. I also got overcharged at the bar and didn't realize it until I was driving home. Despite this one bad night I still say the the atmosphere is very nice, the ppl working there are friendly and we have had many very good experiences. I guess sometimes no matter where you go, they can have a bad night here or there. But this is the best Italian restaurant in Abington, without a doubt.

I had the Haddock Regazza (which had a very bland, thin) Newberg sauce on it, the haddock was very dry and it wasn't even breaded. The shrimp that topped it were flavorless. It was like they just boiled them, the placed them on top of the haddock and covered it with pink sauce. The veg were over cooked and mushy and unseasoned. Lastly, the roasted potatoes we're just ok. Overall, it was bland and not seasoned. My husbands meal was just ok. We rarely use the salt and pepper, but needed it tonight. The plus was the waitress, very helpfulness pleasant. Not sure if I will go back, which is too bad, I live about 7 minutes from there. Just so you know that was my second visit.

I want to love this place I just don't. The bartender is great, she's friendly, funny and on the ball And gives a good pour on the wine. It's the food I don't care for. The fried calamari had huge rings (yuk) and the dipping sauce had no taste, it was yellow with pepperoncinis floating in it, I don't think it was butter maybe it was that chicken soup stuff people are saving is on the Chicken Zitti broccoli. In any case just blah! Got the chicken and eggplant parm, the eggplant was good, the chicken way over cooked but I did like the pasta. We had a discounted gift card thru wickedlocaldeals.com or one of those website so we got a good deal. The place is usually crowded so either people in Abington like blah food or I just keep ordering the wrong thing.

I had the prime rib on Tuesday. Ordered medium rare, came out well done and cold in the middle. Sent it back and asked for rare, sliced it open right down the middle and gray all the way through. Manager on duty says its medium rare. I think not. Next time I am going to Stockholders for my rib. On the plus side the fried fish platter was very good.

Went again the other night for about the 5th time. It's typically good, not great, food. Portions are huge, which to me sometimes means a restaurant is trying to overcome mediocre food with impressive quantity. Service usually good. Ambience lacking, especially in the front dining room where they have a tacky TV in the corner that's distracting. I understand a TV in the bar but can't we have a meal in peace without a game or a Keeno board flashing?

My husband and I ate here when it first opened. Had a great meal then. Decided on a return visit and was very disappointed. I ordered the panini which was nothing like what I would have expected. It was a chix club on toasted sourdough bread. Chicken was very dry. My husband ordered the scallop special. The scallops did not appear fresh - very rubbery. A gem in the beginning turned into a dud. We will not return.

This is our go to spot for a nice dinner with friends, family or special occassions. We've taken advantage of the summer special $9.99 lobster roll more times than I can count. We may be keeping that in business just by ourselves. The new outdoor patio is a great addition although eating lunch during the week out there you sometimes feel like you've been forgotten. I haven't had anything I don't like yet. And their Malbec has more than one hazy nights...

My wife and I have been dying to try this place but we always eat at the bar and their bar is pretty small and we could never get a seat. About a week ago however, we went super early and managed to get a seat. We had heard so many great things about this place and were expecting to be wowed. The ambiance is great and the menu extensive. Based on the menu descriptions our mouths were watering and making a choice was difficult. Wow were we disappointed. I ordered the rack of lamb cooked medium and it arrived very rare and tough. The aioli sauce was so so at best. The mashed potatoes were excellent. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala which tasted like chicken covered in brown gravy. She had pasta on the side with the house marinara. To me test #1 of an Italian Restaurant is the red sauce. If the sauce is great then likely all of the pasta dishes will reflect that. In this case the sauce was shockingly bland and probably canned! To top it off my wife had a martini that contained champagne as an ingredient. The bartender shook the drink after adding the champagne which totally defeated the purpose (hello - champagne has bubbles!) When I asked him to shake the next one BEFORE he added the champagne he acted like I was crazy and made us feel very uncomfortable. To top it off the price was way too steep for the quality of both the food and service. We will not likely return. We would much rather go to Bellas or Vin & Eddie's for our Italian food and rack of lamb.

Five stars for the owners. Hard workers who care very ,very much for your dining experience. Minus one star for the noise level. Minus one star for the fact that all the food coming out of the kitchen that you are eating is being walked through all the people waiting to be seated. As a wait service person, this might not be a big deal to you, but as a customer, it's kinda icky

  • J. S.

The food is beyond amazing. The people are nice enough but it's been kind of slow service the couple of times I've been there. It's definitely above the cut in the Abington area. The prices are above the cut also, but you get your $ worth in taste and portion size. All of the pasta dishes I've had (ravioli, eggplant parm, shrimp scampi) have been unbelievably good. I highly recommend this place if you have a lot of time and some extra spending cash.

Overall a decent place for the area, had scallops and they were overcooked - for the price was not worth it but willing to give it another try. Very crowded and the staff was very nice. Prices a little high for the area but with plentiful portions.

This place is the best around ! The food and staff are great! The owner always goes arounbd to ask if everything is ok.I will tell you that there is no place that can match the size and taste of the prime rib here ! You have to see and eat it to believe it !

I would have given them 5 stars if I didn't get bitchy waitress twice here. Nothing I hate more than when a waitress shows less respect to me than the table next to us. I get that it was a busy nite and she was probably busy; but when you have a completely different tone with the table next to us, that's just sloppy service. Maybe she thought I didn't tip as well cause I'm younger, or maybe she was blinded by the $$ signs of the five top table next to us, who knows, all I'm saying is treat everyone the same. If she was in a bitch to the whole restaurant than I'd be cool with it, the foods great I'll deal with an attitude. I've been mostly negative here so let me explain why I give 4 stars. First off once again the food is great, probably the best Italian in the area. It's a little pricy at dinner; but for the quality it's fair. Lunch is a steal for the quality they serve. Plus the guy who tends the bar knows how to sling the shaker. He makes quality drinks in a timely fashion with a positive attitude. We even get take out here some times and it's almost as good as in the restaurant.

This restaurant was a hit with everyone in our group. One had the chicken parm which had enough to feed all four people- good quantity and good quality to boot. I had the seafood farfalle in a tomato cream sauce and the dish was fabulous!! Lots of scallops, shrimp and lobster- and reasonably priced! Another person had the chicken saltimboca and the last one had the veal parm. Both dishes were terrific. Having read the other reviews I'll have to go back to see if I get a repeat performance. I'm anticipating I will! We will definitely go back again.

The first time I went to Mia Regazza about six months back I thought it was awesome. The second time was not so good. First we asked the host to be seated inside. After waiting 30 minutes they told us our table was ready and it was outside. I didn't care enough to complain, still it would have been nice if my request was at least acknowledged Two of us ordered entrees from the specials that included Swordfish that wasn't very fresh. I ordered a Harpoon IPA with my dinner and was served something that looked and tasted like a Sam Summer. I told the waitress who consulted with the bartender and returned to tell me I was incorrect and asked if I would like another beer. Not a big deal since I still enjoy Sam Summer still I knew I was not drinking what I had ordered. Meanwhile I noticed the bartender tasting beers from the different taps. About two minutes later she switches the tap heads around on the IPA and Sam Summer! There was no attempt to fix the mistake or remove the charge from our bill. I find that to be horrible customer service. I don't know if the first time I went was an exceptionally good night for this place or the most recent was an exceptionally bad night.

Went here last night to celebrate my son's birthday. There were five of us. It was pretty crowded, for a Tuesday night, and we initially were told it would be a half hour wait. The hostess then decided to give us a table for 5 that had been reserved but the party was "very late". So. we lucked out. Had 2 appetizers - mussels in scampi sauce, which were superb, and the fried raviolis in a basil cream sauce, which also were a hit. Portions were quite large. The birthday boy had chicken parmesan, which is his favorite, and there is enough left over for another whole meal. I had the lamb - very tasty, but difficult to cut. Husband had shrimp and chicken dish. He loved the huge shrimp, but thought the sauce was a little too much. Daughter had the angus burger - order well done and it came out medium rare. She was too shy to return it - ate some and brought the rest home - it will finish cooking for her liking in the microwave for lunch one day. Son's friend had the veal parm sandwich, which apparently was very good as he devoured it quickly. Waitress was busy, but no overly so. Made sure we had everything we needed - drinks, fresh water, bread. Restaurant is much nicer now with the new addition. Lots more room. There is an outside patio, but that was closed due to inclement weather. Great place.

went here for dinner last night with the bf, and was impressed beyond belief. we got there around 7pm, and as it was tuesday, we didn't have to wait to be seated. they have specials on monday and tuesdays nights that include a glass of house wine (white, red, or white zin) with an entree, and i had the white zin which was light and sweet. bread, although not the best i've had at an italian restaurant, was served warm and was moist with a hard crust, and came with olive oil and a dish of shaved parmesan cheese. amazing. for dinner i had the swordfish mediterranean, which was swordfish tips with feta cheese, spinach & tomatoes in a white whine sauce with shell pasta. i ate half and am eagerly waiting for dinner so i can have the leftovers. absolutely amazing. the pasta was cooked perfectly and the white wine sauce was excellent with the combination of the feta and swordfish. the bf got the chicken regazza, which he said was excellent, but i don't really remember my bite as i was too focused on my swordfish. both meals were off of the tuesday night specials menu. for dessert we split a chocolate lava cake, that was one of the richest, most chocolately cakes i've ever eaten. warm, gooey, and served with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream drizzled with rich hot fudge. to die for. if i get a chance to go back soon, i am THERE. tons of options for specials every night, extensive wine list, and absolutely delicious food.

I think I just found my new favorite Italian restaurant on the South Shore! I came here on a Saturday evening. Given the current economic climate I was surprised to find this restaurant absolutely packed although I did not have to wait for a table. They have a huge outdoor patio dining area (weather permitting) and I believe at least two dining rooms. The place is huge but from the outside it looks tiny. The lady who served us was great. What I believe maybe the owner and manager came to our table twice to make sure everything was OK. My guest had a Chicken Risotto that was on their specials menu. She absolutely loved it. I had the Chicken Bracciolatini. It had a mushroom Marsala sauce and came with two chicken breast that were pan fried and stuffed with prosciutto and cheese. It was served over angel hair pasta. It was delicious. Go with an appetite as the portions are huge.

This place has amazing Clam Chowder. Definitely up there as one of my favorites. Its a very busy place. Very crowded, very loud, even on a Tuesday. Definitely an older crowd as well. The food was great. I only had 2 minor gripes. The service was slow and the 'regulars' at the bar. I went to the bar to order a drink for my wife. A 'regular' got defensive he was going to lose his friends seat and got a little rude. I got the drink and moved on. Our waitress was so busy she sent another waitress to finally take our order. She seemed quite distracted. Either way we got our food, it was good, it was just hard to figure out who was our actual server.

I would not recommend going there. There service was bad, the behavior of the manager was offensive and unprofessional. If you have gluten allergies do not go even if they say they have a gluten free menu. I invited my sister in laws out for dinner in honor of there birthdays. One has gluten allergies and I specifically chose Mia Regazza because they claim they offer gluten free items.... When she ordered she specifically told the waitress she was allergic to gluten. She then ordered off the gluten free menu a salad and asked for steak tips to be put on it. Plain, no seasoning etc. The waitress assured her it would be fine. The rest of us ordered and again we told the waitress before she left, please don't forget her salad and steak tips need to be gluten free. She kind of rolled her eyes and said she got it. Later, our meals came and five minutes into eating my sister in law called the waitress over and apologetically asked her for sure if the steak tips were made without anything on them? As she could taste some kind of marinade. She insisted it was but would check with the kitchen. She then stopped eating. The waitress came back to say they put regular marinated steak tips on her gluten free salad!! And yes the marinade has gluten in it. Went on to say that because she ordered "off the menu" it wouldn't be gluten free!!! We reminded her that she ASKED when she ordered the gluten free salad if she could have plain steak tips on top without marinade and you said yes. She would not have ordered that if they couldn't do it. She insisted she told the kitchen what the request was but they did not follow. Sorry very as a matter of fact. I was disgusted at the ignorance. We asked to speak to the manager. Nearly 10 minutes passed by and the manager came over a blonde woman in her late fifties. She was totally unprofessional. She said "sorry this happened but if you ordered off the gluten free menu this wouldn't have happened". We told her, we told her she did and asked if they can do plain tips on top and WAS TOLD YES. She was rather rude and refused to comprehend the woman specifically asked if it could be done and was told yes. She then said loudly well we will just have to call 911 if you are not feeling well! My sister in law was horrified. This was not a 911 situation but we do want to leave as soon as we can get the bill as she was not feeling well and wants to get home to take some medication. She drank a ton of water and yes we had to WAIT for the bill. The manager later yelled at us for speaking up! I asked for the owners name ( John & Kristin Martin) Then we had to ask to have the meal (which she barely touched) taken off the bill, this was yet another hassle. It should have no questions asked. I would not recommend going there. There service was bad, the behavior of the manager was offensive and unprofessional. If you have gluten allergies do not go even if they say they have a gluten free menu. If John or Kristin Martin are reading this, you need to fire your manager, she is a liability and get your waitstaff and kitchen staff clear on this subject if you are going to say you offer gluten free items and not serve gluten free food. If what she asked for could not have been done she should not have been promised it would. There are plenty of good options for Italian food on the south shore. Word of mouth is going to kill your business.

If I could, I would give our experience at Mia Regazza 2.5 stars. We came in as a party of six on a Saturday night. The place was packed and we had to park on a side street. I figured Mia Regazza was doing something right to be packing such a crowd. They also had an outside patio that looked really nice and inviting as well. Unfortunately, it wasn't that warm outside. We had a reservation and we were quickly seated at a table in the back corner. The first thing you're going to notice that the bar area is small; there is virtually no place to stand and wait for your table. Secondly, the restaurant dining area is loud. I mean, obnoxiously loud. The ceilings are high and there is nothing installed to help absorb/defuse the sound. Our server was extremely nice and rather quick to get our drink orders out to us. We ordered a round of drinks and she brought us bread to munch on. We ordered the special appetizer of the night, the filet mignon bruschetta. When it took about 20 minutes to come out, that's when we realized that it may take awhile for the rest of our meals to arrive. The bruschetta was rather disappointing -- the meat was small, the bruschetta toast was small, and there was a ton of onion rings on top. Maybe it could have been advertised differently? Anyway, I had the chicken parm with penne pasta. When our meals finally arrived way later, it left a lot to be desired. The pasta was lukewarm at best and really chewy. Was it overcooked or al dente? I couldn't really tell but I had ran a 5K earlier that day so I was hangry at that point. That's right, hangry. The chicken was actually really good but salty. Was it the best? Definitely not. Was it the worst? Not necessarily. The service was good and we understood that there was nothing our server could do against the kitchen. She really tried and did a good job at keeping us informed. Not sure if I will be back. The service is the only thing that saved this review from being 2 stars.

Going on two years since we first came to Mia's. We've tried many Italian restaurants on the South Shore, Cape as well as the North End. This place is first rate, great ingredients, always cooked exact, never a bad meal. The portions are big, the value is spot on. Danny and Nick are the best bartenders and servers. Suggest the stuffed mushrooms, chicken piccata, and the salmon. Can't get a better host than John, he always remembers my name! Suggest you check it out!

I wanted to host my rehearsal lunch/dinner at 3 with 25 guests on a Friday and we wanted to order off the menu and not have a special menu. It was unfortunate they could not offer that to us because they were kicking us out by 5. I understand its a Friday but this starts at 3, seriously?!?! and a time limit?!?! I never knew paying customers especially 25 people would have a time constraint. How would we be able to predict if the service was slow and 25 of us have to be in a hurry and leave?!?! I have heard good things about this restaurant but now I will tell the others don't bother.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch on 08/30/2014. The two of us shared two appetizers, stuffed mushroom and the antipasto. The entrée was the boiled lobsters which was priced at $9.95. Ate in the outdoor patio. Our server was attentive and personal. We had been here before but it had been awhile. We agreed we are coming back a lot more often because is was that good.

I love Mia Regazza. It might be my new favorite restaurant on the South Shore. Kind of a hike to get to from the highway but it is worth it. I've brought different groups of people here and they've all loved it. Waitstaff is always on point and very friendly. The food is what is obviously the real draw here. Everything from the Chicken Parm to the lamb is just delicious. My favorite is the Chicken & Sausage Al Forno. To die for.

I love this place, from the warm bread and spicy oil to Mia's medley. I go out of my way to come here and I love it. I also recommend the rack of lamb and any lobster special. And for dessert, the Blueberry Brulee is yum. They also have patio dining which is dope in the summertime.

Average Italian food. Nothing stand outs really but I wasn't disappointed by it either. Better Italian places as far as food is concerned in a not too long of a drive away. The environment is nice though,

Wow, what a difference a few weeks can make! I want to preface this with the fact that we spent Christmas Eve at Mia Regazza and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the service was excellent (not rushed at all) and the entire staff was in the holiday spirit. We returned a few weeks later (Jan. 18th) having a reservation for 6:00 p.m. We arrived around 5:30 and the place was packed (like fire trap packed). We had to push our way through the crowd around the bar to get to the host/hostess stand. We let them know we were there and ordered a drink from the bar (SRO). We were seated at our reservation time, ordered an appetizer and a round of drinks and checked out the menu. The waitress brought the drinks, then the appetizer and we chatted as we enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms and our wine. She checked a couple of times to see if we were ready to order, but we were there to dine, not chow down! She came over after we had been seated maybe a half hour and again asked if we were ready to order. She informed us that the owner said we HAD to order then. With that, we asked for our check and left. We drove down the street to Vin & Eddie's (old faithful), where we had a leisurely glass of wine in the bar while chatting with other patrons. We were promptly seated and had a fantastic meal and were allowed to dine at our on pace. We don't reserve a table at a restaurant to be told when to place our order. If people in that huge crowd didn't have reservations, they should have been turned away. Because we enjoyed our first experience, we will give it another shot. The review will be forthcoming! This rating doesn't reflect the quality of food, because we didn't have a meal!!!

Have eaten at Mia Regazza several times in the past two years. This past week I was there for lunch and several days later for dinner. The wait for meals was overly long. Three meals were served after about 1 hour and the rest were served about 5 minuted later. This was for a party of nine. The first meals were cold by the time the others were served. Mostly due to the A/C blowing on us. The food was very good when it arrived. In the past I have ordered the boiled lobster, the lobster salad roll, the fisherman's platter, which was delicious except that the clams were a conjoined blob. I have had the stuffed haddock and the steak tips with stuffed shrimp..both had too much stuffing..and it is not good stuffing, just lots of it. All in all I think people are impressed with the quantity, not the quality.

We visited Mia regazza on a Saturday night around 7. The wait for the two of us was around 30 minutes. There is a small bar near the entrance where people sat and waited for tables. I did not venture to the back outside but I was told there was a larger outside bar as well. For an appetizer we ordered the bruschetta. What threw was off was there was only two small pieces of bread under a huge amount of red onions, tomatoes and mozzarella. For the price of the appetizer we were surprised to only have two small pieces of bread. I ordered the haddock with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I loved the seasonings on the veggies as well as the fact that they were crunchy. When veggies are cooked too much it takes away from the flavor. The potatoes were red blissed and creamy. The haddock had an light coating of breadcrumbs. It tasted great. My boyfriend ordered pasta bolognese. He was disappointed because the sauce was very watery and had large pieces of tomato in it. It was not what he expected from bolognese sauce. We did not order alcohol but it looked like it had a nice list of mixed drinks, beers, and wines. Overall it was an average dinner out.

Great, italian food, good service and pleasant atmosphere! You can go here with friends, with a date or with your mom - it's a great place for everyone! Be prepared though, if you are going on Friday or Saturday night, you might be waiting for a table...they get absolutely slammed!

Serious problem two years ago, but we were convinced to try it one more time. My Seafood Primavera was very good with a nice amount of lobster. The 20 ounce steak special had to be sent back, it was ordered medium and came well done. Cooked perfectly the second time, but 20 ounces... I don't think so, but it was adequate and quite tasty. The other two orders were for eggplant parm and chicken parm. Both of those people were happy with their meals. I may be wrong, but it seems like their pricing (which was once slightly high) is now very reasonable. Their bread and oil dip was just so-so. Entrees on Monday come with a complimentary glass of house wine.

I've been wanting to try Mia Regazza for months after seeing it on Phantom Gourmet. We finally made it out this week. We were able to get a seat on the patio on a Monday night with no wait. I ordered a sea bass special that came with two shrimp, a huge crab cake, and a lobster tail. Everything was fresh and hot and of course the portion was huge. My husband went for the $36 Lobster Regazza: a whole lobster stuffed with spaghetti and topped with mussels and scallops in a wine sauce. It was ridiculously large (the pasta is unnecessary) but very tasty. Service was fine; no complaints. I appreciated that the hostess brought us waters right away without us having to ask for it.

Huge portions! Must be the reason the restaurant is consistently full. The food is just average Italian food and often tastes quite bland. The service is very attentive and pleasant. The outside patio is a bonus for the summer months.

Have gone here on several occasions but recently hosted a party of 15 here. I have tried different things on the menu such as the Mia's medley, chicken broccoli ziti, fisherman's platter and lobster mashed and have been pleased with all those items. The drinks are nice and strong. With regard to hosting a larger group here; it was my intention to order appetizers for all to share. They need better appetizer selections; choosing appetizers to share was a challenge and the only one on the menu that you can truly share amongst others is the calamari. I ordered a couple orders each of the calamari, coconut shrimp (special that evening) and chicken tenders. The coconut shrimp were excellent but they only give you four and the chicken tenders were probably about four to six and served on a bed of rice (weird). Outside of the appetizers issue I do feel you get a good value; decent food and portions for the price.

After reading all the reviews, we tried it. You guys can keep it for yourselves. I won't waste much time, but three things stand out. You can make inferences from there. 1. Caesar dressing was clear, without a hint of garlic. 2. Scallops were cooked until they were rubber pucks (primarily because you can't sear a scallop in olive oil or because they buy wet scallops). 3. Risotto was made with water, not stock or broth. They are remarkably busy & won't miss our business, so we'll keep looking.......or driving into town. Cafe Bella has nothing to fear here.

I really enjoyed my trips to Mia Regazza. The food is authentic and delicious. On Tuesday, you are able to get a free glad of wine with an entree which sweetens the deal! Service is decent, could be better. I got the Chicken Ella Dawn and it was incredible! I definitely will be going back.

I wish I could rate my experience with a negative star. My husband and I were more than excited to try this place because we've only heard amazing things about the food. Sadly, the service was so horribly uncomfortable we will never be going back. Looking forward to a Friday night without the kids we were "assisted" by our waitress Kerry. Not only did our meals come out incorrect I witnessed her on the phone telling someone to meet her after work to pick up pills. It's also not surprising she reeked of alcohol. Lucky for her my husband was off duty that night. I highly recommend that you re-evaluate your staff because I'm sure what was a horrible experience could have been as wonderful as expected.

Being Italian I am a bit particular about my Italian food... As in I want it to be good. I tried this restaurant for the second time while visiting friends south, I really wanted to like it based on the hype and family involvement.. That would be why I did not review it last time. Mediocre service. Terrible atmosphere-- way too loud ( and I'm young!) and lackluster decorating.. Then the food ugh.. The only thing out of two trips that was enjoyed was the steak somewhat but it was cooked over what was ordered. The very bad -- shrimp overcooked so severely they seemed rubbery enough that they'd bounce off the floor and across the room. One of the worst sauces and meatballs I've ever tasted. As someone who has grown up on good Italian I realize I'm particular but we are talking like Olive Garden is preferable. If you're an Italian restaurant work on and perfect your basics. Chefs need to be fired and recipes need to change. I also had the same issue with unattended waitstaff trying to clear not finished drinks but not bothering to check in on the food or whether we wanted more drinks. This place apparently got stellar reviews from phantom gourmet.. Also by locals but hey south shore eaters you're not Italian you're Irish! Jk ;) I'd change your focus ÿou aren't a good Italian eatery maybe try to do Americana and steakhouse food?

The restaurant is always busy. It is clean and modern; parking can be difficult. The service was good and the food was average. Do not order the pizza or their equivalent of a pizza. It is not good at all. This is one of my biggest complaints about Italian restaurants. They should have an option for clients to have a good pizza and salad. I'm not sure why this restaurant does not serve a good pizza.

We had a great meal here tonight. We were greeted by a very nice hostess. Donna was our waitress. She was very attentive. We had seafood Parmesan with lobster, scallops, shrimp in a marina sauce excellent. I had pasta scampi with home made pasta very good.

  • Alissa S.

I had the Angus sirloin and crab cake stuffed lobster tail. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the lobster was honestly probably the best tasting lobster I've ever had. I had trouble just deciding between the specials, because there were about 15 of them and nearly all of them appealed to me. My Dad got the haddock that comes with LOBSTER MASHED POTATOES (I want to hug whoever invented that), my sister got the enormous (size and portion) steak tips that we all agreed were the best we'd had in quite a while, and my mom got the chicken parm which was also a huge portion (her only complaint was that it could have used more cheese- but they did have fresh grated parm on the table). Although this is an "Italian" resturant, the seafood & steak/meat seem to be the thing to go for here and looking through other reviews for this place that gave lower ratings I'm seeing a lot of people who ordered sandwiches/paninis/veggie options/traditional chicken and pasta dishes. I recommend going for a special. I didn't love the atmosphere (we were seated in the table and chairs section in the back, and we were right next to the drink/waiter station and across from a bathroom door back there), although there are booths in the front room which might be nicer- would request to sit there next time.

Absolutely love this place. They have incredible specials every time I'm there. The food is always top notch and the service is excellent. I actually accidentally left my credit card there the last time I ate there, and they held onto it for a few days for me before I figured out where it was. It's a small thing, but I appreciated it. The one minor complaint I have isn't there fault -- this place is constantly packed. I have to go on off-hours so there's not a crazy long wait.

Come hungry!!! Fantastic service! Great atmosphere! Fabulous food! Huge portions! Something for everyone. Not just italian dishes.Don't be afraid to stop in if the parking lot is full, there are plenty of tables inside. Very satisfied with my 1st time here...won't be my last!

We went there for Father's Day. The scallops wrapped in bacon and the chicken piccata were good. However, my prime rib although tasty was overcooked and well done. A couple of other tables were also complaining about the prime rib. We will give this place another chance when it is not so busy.

I'm a fan and have been to Mia Regazza several times. Met a friend there for dinner last night (7/17/14) and we dined outside. Wasn't thrilled to be seated at a high top table but the seats were actually really comfortable...whodathunkit! It was extremely busy last night and the server told us the kitchen was backed up a little so the food took a little longer than usual but it was delicious. She was nice enough to refill our bread basket while we waited and ensure we had full drinks. The calamari app was excellent and very generous...the plate was heaped! I absolutely loved the pepperoncini sauce that came with it...added just the right amount of heat. Neither of us touched the marinara that was also served with it. And they were nice enough to do rings only since neither of us likes the tentacles. My Mia's Medley was delicious. Steak tips, bacon wrapped scallops, and stuffed lobster tail all cooked perfectly and served with potatoes and asparagus. (They are very accommodating and let me swap the roasted potatoes for mashed.) Huge portion! I ended up taking half of it home. I'm generally not a huge lobster fan-can take it or leave it- but the lobster tail was super fresh and tender. I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. My friend ordered one of the specials which was sea bass, shrimp, and a clam cake stuffed lobster tail....she was very happy with it. Unfortunately neither of us had room for dessert....they have great tiramisu! While I truly enjoy going to Mia Regazza, it can get very loud if you are seated inside. It normally doesn't bother me but some of my friends can't tolerate it. And parking can be a real challenge when it's busy. I had to circle around for 15 minutes before a spot opened up last night. Annoying but not a deal breaker for me since I enjoy the food and service and don't get there that often.

This used to be our go-to Italian place in the neighborhood, the food was usually pretty decent (3.5 star quality, which still put it on the top list for Italian restaurants in the area. However, our last visit there was a sour disappointment. I ordered the appetizer Angel hair pasta with shrimp. The pasta was completely overcooked and what was supposed to be a lemon white wine sauce or something tasted like Cup Noodles Chicken soup. My boyfriend ordered Chicken Parm gnocchi which was on the daily specials. The chicken Parm was good and the sauce was ok, but the gnocchi was completely undercooked to the point that you could smudge it on your plate with your fork. Just for the quality of the food today, we would have rated two stars. But due to the extremely inappropriate treatment from the manager, I will drop it to one star. We did not finish our plates, the waitress came to ask what was wrong and we promptly and quite politely told her what was wrong with the food. We did not ask for anything to be taken off the bill. We did not ask to speak to the manager. We did not take anything off the tip of the waitress who did a good job. We were only trying to give constructive criticism which should have been delivered to the chef. However, upon voicing our criticism, the manager came over and told us that apparently we had complained about the food here before and treated us very rudely. First of all, we complained once before, when the ribs were absolutely bone dry! Even then, we took the meat home, did not ask anything to be taken off the bill and we made something better out of it the next day. Second of all, IF a customer HAD complained before, maybe you should get a new chef? The manager made it seem like we came there to get a free meal - as mentioned, we did not ask anything to be taken off, and if we would have wanted a free meal, we definitely wouldn't have gone there since home cooking would have been a way better option. I don't know if they have a new chef or new staff since the place has gone down in the past months but whatever the case, I would not recommend this place unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen and served overcooked food. Finally, a proper restaurant should be able to take criticism from customers and grow from that, not take it personally and take it out on the customers. I guess this is one of those places who has a broad enough regular customer base that they really don't need any new customers. Which, based on the way it is going now, I wouldn't worry about.

This is my 4th trip and I have been happy every time! I have had the lobster for lunch, meatball sandwich, steak. Dinner and now the sea food Casserole which was by far the best! There was so much seafood it was great! I love the service love the atmosphere and love the bread! My Only complaint would be too many items in the menu other then that magnifico!

  • Patrick P.

The food was ok, but not as great at advertised. I say this mainly because the steak I received was overdone. The server was extremely polite and dessert was certainly delicious. My only recommendation is making sure they cook portions per request. Shoe leather steak does not a great meal make.

OMG! This place is so delicious!! I've been here twice and I'm actually going here again next week and I can't wait! The first time I went I got Greek Salad supreme and it was so good I ordered it again. So I can't get all crazy and tell you about the entire menu. But, my husband ordered chicken parm and said it was amazing!! The staff was extremely nice both times. The only one bad thing I can possibly say is we walked in and asked to be seated and the hostess was so rude my husband was pissed. She asked like we were bothering her for a seat! It was my Husbands first time here and he was ready to turn around and walk out. But, I convinced him to stay. He was glad he did. Our waitress was awesome and totally made up for it. THANK GOD! It was his B'day and I would have felt horrible! I really love this place..so hopefully the hostess will get off her high horse and treat people with respect...Because it really is a terrfic place!!

We eat here probably about 6 times a year ... The food is generally pretty good... Hardly ever any issues with anything - waiting, service, food, etc... If you haven't dined her before, it's worth a try!

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Something for everyone's palette. Appetizers were good, we had calamari, stuffed mushrooms and mussels, all were a hit. Half of our party ordered prime rib and it was a huge cut and prepared to perfection. We ordered baked Sea Bass and Lobster over linguine and it was delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. We'd definitely go back next time in the area. Give em try!

Perfect parm! Mia Regazza is usually very good, but last night it was excellent! When we arrived the bar area was extremely loud and we were told the wait was a half-hour. I hoped we'd be seated in what I still refer to as the "new room". After a shorter wait than expected we were led to a table in the middle of the restaurant, surprisingly it wasn't as loud. Water, warm bread, and a choice of oil or butter were brought to the table immediately. The bread is amazing! Then the waitress arrived, took our drink order and was back with the bottle of wine before we knew it. Service was very attentive, water was refilled constantly and we were asked if we wanted more bread a few times. Both the manager and owner stopped by to check that everything was okay. It was better than okay. The sweet and spicy chicken salad was a bit spicier than usual, but delicious, walnuts add a bit of crunch and the cranberries a little sweet-tart. The eggplant parmesan was thin, with the perfect amount of breading, sauce and cheese. For $2.00 extra you can get homemade pasta or wheat pasta. The veal parmesan wasn't as thin as usual but still tender and cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were so big we didn't have room for dessert.

We dined here tonight with four friends, and had a great time and great meal. First, the front of the house and waitstaff where perfect - attentive and thorough but did not rush us. They brought very nice bread to the table with both butter and seasoned olive oil. Nice start! The wine list was extensive and well priced. There is a small bar at the front of the restaurant that was jammed even when we arrived early (4 pm). We got a table for six easily at that time, but an hour later there would have been a wait...an hour later would have been a LONG wait! We started with fried calimari.. Superb! Light fry, tender, not a bit of rubbery-ness that comes with over cooking. One of the People in our group had the eggplant Parmesan which was beautifully prepared - Crispy and delicious. Two of our group had the steak tips which they are well-known for and they were very tasty. I had a chicken breasts rolled with prosciutto and fontina cheese and served in a beautiful mushroom sauce. I highly recommend this! Another of our group had veal Parmesan and another had the swordfish. All got very positive reviews. We finished our meal with very good cups of coffee and shared a molten chocolate cake which truly was delicious. All in all, the food was far better than we expected for whatever reason! If you don't like a loud restaurant I suggest you dine early. By the time we left slightly after 6 PM on a Saturday the restaurant was quite noisy and it was becoming difficult to hear one another. I did appreciate that our table was not rushed at all, although they clearly had many people waiting for a table. The portions are very large here... Everyone of us had take-home to bring for leftovers tomorrow. I'm sure will go back again and I might be tempted to try an appetizer in lieu of a dinner sized portion! Also - in my opinion the prices are very fair for the high quality food they serve.

I have been to Mia Regazza's many times. I love sitting on the patio for Sunday lunch. Very relaxing and the staff are great. But the most important reason to go is the food! Best Italian on the South Shore and beyond! Fresh food, great seafood (it is the only place I order seafood), and wonderful pasta and steak dishes. I bring many friends here for birthday celebrations. Reasonable prices, easy parking.

I have been here around 8 or 9 times my last review was great,as was all of my experiences at Mia Regazza .but the last time I was there I was so disappointed.the prime rib is usually the best ever.i talked up this place and brought another couple.i was somewhat embarrassed because it must have been an off night.three of us were not pleased with our prime ribs. I'm wondering if there is a new cook or different place the meat came from. Have you made changes recently?the service is still very good and the atmosphere is still the same.I m not sure what to think now.Im suppose to be taking a friend there for her 60th birthday,as I told her many times how great it is here and other people have told her the same.please let me know if you had any problems last week,or of any changes in the kitchen. I want to take my friend for a good meal on the big 60 like I had the other 8 or 9 times there.Do you think it was just an off night or have there been changes? Please let me know of any changes.if so, you should go back the way it was a month ago and from day one. Thanks Kathleen jones

First off, wow 40+ filtered reviews. Just sayin'. Ok, so Mia Regazza used to be my go to Italian restaurant. I have been there a couple times over the last couple of years, each time coming out with a smile on my face. The most recent visit though, not so much. Maybe I have been ruined for life with an Italian place I went to in Lackawanna, NY, but I found the lasagna & sauce bland. The meatballs were decent, but nothing more. The lasagna was 3 layers, bottom layer of ricotta mixture, middle layer of beef with some seasoning and mozzarella, and topmost layer of sauce. Sauce? Keep in mind the lasagna was then covered with sauce, so I was stumped by the layer of pasta the thin film of sauce and another layer of pasta. Maybe I am nit-picking, but just bleh. Cutting into it I just felt like whoever made it was going through the motions of making a "lasagna" so they could have it on the menu, no love there. Huge disappointment. All that being said... the other members of my party seemed to enjoy their meals. Chicken Saltimbocca (sp?) was tasty if not a tad overpowering (a small side of pasta would have helped there), the prime rib was tender but not melt-in-your-mouth, and the fried seafood platter met with an overall positive consensus. So I can't yell and scream about this place being horrible since most of the meals at the table were good, but I go to an Italian place for one of two things, lasagna or chicken parm. And if you can't do either of those decent, you have lost me as a customer. Lastly, this place was atrociously loud. It was an evening meal, but I think the combination of bar being in the same room as half the dining area and the flowing of wine and raucous laughing and chattering just made it unbearable to have a conversation with the person across the table without yelling. I don't believe I shall return, I'll try somewhere else.

Our family had dinner here tonight. It was great. I had the lobster regazza. It was awesome. Shrimp, scallops, lobster, mussels and spaghetti. The meal is served inside of the lobster shell with a light sauce. Great. Great. Great. Don't miss out of this place. It's worth it. Friendly staff, quick service, and good drinks make this my new romantic diner stop for my girlfriend and I. We will definitely be back.

I had heard so many good things about this place, boy was I disappointed. I had a gift certificate for this place do the gf and I stop by on a Fri night. We show up and it's a 45 min wait. Fair enough, it's got a good rep and it is Friday after all. We don't get seated for an hour and 15 minutes. Ugh. Whatever. So I ordered a veal parm. In 15 minutes our wine is gone and our waitress is nowhere to be seen. 30 minutes we see her and she's there to hand us bread (bad sign). 45 minutes later we get out meal. My veal is dry and tiny. So yeah, not worth the huge bill at all.

Excellent service from Patrice. The bread is probably my biggest complaint. It's not bad it's just blah. Not hot. Minimal flavor white bread. Anyway, the sausage cacciatore was really good. Chicken parm was good. Kids meals are a good deal. All in all, a nice Father's Day meal with the family.

I must have the same pallet as the genius who created the Mia Regazza menu. Usually 2-3 dishes appeal to me on a menu, but here there are 10-15 dishes on the menu that make my mouth water. My wife and I started with a lobster ravioli appetizer which delivered everything we were asking for. Thick ravioli's, capers in a cream sauce. For entrees, we both ordered off the specials menu. I got a 10oz Top Angus Sirloin topped with 2 medium shrimp in a lemon butter caper sauce WITH a crab cake stuffed lobster tail in a lobster cream sauce. A+++ food cooked perfect and the portions were generous. My wife ordered a scallop and cranberry rissotto which she said was OK. The veggies in the rissotto changed the flavor a little too much. Looking forward to my next visit to try something else.

My wife and I arrived to have a birthday dinner with my mother-in-law. We've dined here before at her choice, but this time I was even less than impressed than before. Our server was a young girl, while very lovely to look at, was overly quick to grab a quarter full glass of non-refillable beverage away from us, or try to take a not quite finished dish from our table. She left us on our own to find the dinner specials that were on a separate placard, without any recommendation given. Drinks around the table were not prompt to be refilled, yet I was offered a fresh cocktail when I was only half way done with mine. My veal piccatta had an ok texture. The portion was large, but really only because I had an abundant amount of overcooked pasta. It was far from perfectly seasoned or cooked. My wife and father in law both had overcooked, dry and rubbery shrimp in their entrees, but my wife was the only one who spoke up, requesting that grilled chicken be replaced for the shrimp. She received fried chicken. I'd expect a bit more personalized service from an italian restaurant with an average entree price around $20. While the server did ask how everything was, she did so right after our entrees were served when we hadn't taken any real bites into dinner. After that she was scarcely seen around us. To the staff: make wine, appetizer and entree suggestions, be more present and available to your guests, don't rush to drop the bill To the kitchen: Learn how to cook, and learn how to season. I won't be returning

I was looking for apartments in Abington when I saw a sign stating "Voted Best Italian Restaurant in the South Shore." I did some research and decided to take my Mom there for her 87th Birthday. From the warm and friendly greeting by the Hostess to the wonderful server Kathleen, my party of three were elated. The drinks, food and even the bread were mouthwatering outstanding. The portions of the Salads, Veal Parm and the Prime Rib......Oh My!!! And the server's bringing an amazing dessert with a candle and singing made a perfect ending to an awesome experience. We are STILL talking about it and my beloved Mother is still savoring every morsel...(we all are!) :) Thank you all so much for the memorable celebration and we can't wait to come back! Patti C.

I really wanted to love this place, but its nothing special. I like the whole "family" feel of Mia Regazza. Small and intimate dining area with a nice bar and great bartenders. Went for dinner and ordered a shrimp pasta dish that was advertised as being served in a "roasted red pepper sauce" but when it came out, it was basically pasta, shrimp, butter, and roasted red peppers tossed on top. Very dissapointed. Don't remember what my boyfriend got but he was disappointed as well. Recentlly, we decided to try Mia Regazza for lunch. I got a roasted veggie panini which was bland and soggy, but hey, guess its my fault for ordering vegetables on bread. My boyfriend ordered an eggplant parm panini. It tasted nothing like eggplant. It tasted like batter and cheese, basically a mozzarella stick on bread. I mean mozzarella sticks are great, if that's what you order... but not when you're expecting eggplant. However, the seafood stuffed mushrooms are incredible. If you're going to Mia Regazza... order these.

The food was ok, but not as great at advertised. I say this mainly because the steak I received was overdone. The server was extremely polite and dessert was certainly delicious. My only recommendation is making sure they cook portions per request. Shoe leather steak does not a great meal make.

They just opened recently and have already outgrown the facility.

went there for supper 11/26 as we don't feel like cooking after the big Thanksgiving day.

  • Dave D.

Great portions, great taste. Reasonably priced. Would have been 5 stars but the waitress was slower than usual with drink refills and the check. It wasn't that busy but she was lagging a bit. She was nice though, not worth telling management. Great food.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
