I don't know what people expect from a Mexican Restaurant owned by Lebanese but my mom and I have been there numerous times and have always had a pleasant experience. If I wanted authentic Mexican fare I would ride around and look for a family living in an apartment with 20 other people and eat dinner with them. :)

Just average Tex-Mex food. I wouldn't "never eat there again." I would meet people there, but I certainly wouldn't plan to get a meal there again. The atmosphere is what you would expect from looking at the outside- a brightly lit, strip mall tex mex place.

When you go to Cactus, expect a good meal but not necessarily a great one. I have been to Cactus a couple dozen times over the past 5 years. The food is always consistent, but is limited to your standard "Tex-Mex" faire. The Good: Food is consistent. Good sized portions. Lunch specials are affordable. The Bad: Slow service. Food is ok, not great. My biggest issue amd what keeps be from dining more often is the slow service. It is a guarentee that if you go during yoir lunch break, you will be running late back to the office. I try to flag my waiter down to get my ticket on time, but they seem to get scarce whem it comes time to pay. If they update some of the recipes amd speed up the service, this could be a great place!

When my boyfriend and I decided to go to lunch there today, the waitress asked us what we would like to drink and we both wanted water. Little did we know that water would be in basically everything to the point where it was soup. The salsa was watered down big time and when she brought out our drinks, she spilled some on the table and didn't clean it up, so my boyfriend had to use his napkin to clean it off and had to ask for some more napkins. Also, when I took a sip of water from my cup it tasted like water mixed with chlorine and bleach. When the food got to our table everything looked like it had been microwaved. I ordered the cactus burrito and it was like I had watered kidney beans with guacamole, lettuce, and olives. I was trying to cut back on my consumption of meat, so I didn't have it with any beef. Come to think of it, this is a dieter's paradise cause everything is so liquefied and watered down that one wouldn't have consumed much calories. If you look at the condiments such as the hot sauces on the table, they were like 90% watered down. They should rename this place the soup café. The waitress was nice, but not very attentive, she spent more time socializing with her friends than catering to her customers. I don't think that this restaurant is a basic Mexican restaurant, as we have had better food and experiences at others. This place is well below average as far as food and service is concerned. If you don't believe me and need some soup, try this place.

Ehh. This place is one of those places you'd probably go just because you're in the area and don't feel like driving anywhere. The food is definitely mediocre at best. The service is below par as well. The only reason I used to go to Cactus Cafe is because it was in the same little strip mall thing where I used to work. The drink specials are the best thing about this place. The peach margaritas are pretty good, but again, the food is nothing to write home about. I mean think about it, all mexican restaurants are pretty much the same ingredients. Some sort of tortilla that it has something put on it, or in it, served with a sauce or cheese, and a side of lettuce beans and guac and sour cream. How do you mess that up?

Absolute worst Mexican food I have ever had in my entire life. We waited to get seated for about 10 minutes, there was no hostess in the front. Once we got seated the waitress was very rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. She kept tapping her pen on her book and rushing us to decide what we wanted. We ordered queso, it was awful. It was a weird yellow color and it had no flavor. The chips tasted stale as well. I also ordered the seafood enchaladas. When they came out they looked very unappetizing. I cut into the enchalada to find some imitation crab meat. I sent the food back after I lost my appetite. Id rather eat Taco Bell. Never coming here again and I advise everyone else avoid this place as well!

Happily to eat at Cactus Cafe with friends and/or family. No complaints.

In case you see their sign by the street and are tempted to pull in and check out their fare, let me tell you. DON'T DO IT!! To start out I was promptly greeted and seated and that was about the end of the good experience although the wait staff were friendly enough. This is apparently a 2 story building and it sounded like someone was sliding furniture around and hammering on something above my head for most of my meal. I wouldn't have even mentioned it, but it was loud enough to drown out the background music which was playing and the people around me. Next came the chips and salsa, the chips were good and the salsa tasted decent until I found a nice long black hair in the salsa. I asked for another bowl and was promptly brought one but unfortunately, my appetite for salsa was gone by then. As far as the food, I had the # 12 which was a beef taco, cheese enchilada, and the usual sides. The taco meat was very dry like it was cooked early this morning or the night before. The veggies with the taco did seem fresh however. The enchilada was ok as were the sides. Before I left, I made a restroom stop before getting back on the road. If I had went in there first, I wouldn't have bothered eating here. The first stall I ventured into had lots of very bad things floating in it. Both toilets were missing the lids and the restroom door had holes kicked in it. The restroom was definitely a disgrace. Overall, if you're in the area and want mexican, go to Chilis. It may not be real mexican and is a chain but you'll have much better luck there. If it's Tex-Mex you really want, drive into Baton Rouge. This place is not worth the stop.

The restaurant had good service but for Mexican, it wasn't that good. Fluorescent lights don't make for much atmosphere.

They have pretty average mexican fare. In case you're not in the mood for beans and cheese, they do have burgers which also look quite tasty. I really enjoy the whole wheat chips they serve up upon request--very good dipped in queso!
