This is in a little area of town doesn't look like much ,but have the best pancakes. They are served on a large pizza platter that's how big they were, there were five of us and we could not eat all of them it was a stack of 3. The waitress was friendly and helpful.

The best beigneits in Louisiana are in this tiny historic cabin. They kick the crap out of anything I've had ANYWHERE else in Louisiana, including New Orleans. They are a definite not-to-miss item.

They do sell horribly out of date newspapers in the box. I'm starting to worry about the food.

Perfect little spot for breakfast or lunch. Great shops around with gifts, home decor and LSU/Saints.

Breakfast good in a country village-like setting in a city off the interstate. Phew, that was a mouthful. I've knowingly passed this place several times, but finally had the time to stop in. Greeted by a horseshoe of "country cottages" right off I-10 west/east near the sorrento exit. The cottages hold different trinkets, wares & foods, drinks etc. We stopped in at the cottage where the food was housed. YummmmY YummmmY for my TummmmY. We had grits, eggs, toast, coffee, French toast, eggs, apple juice & a side of beignet fingers. Can you say "full as a tick"... Well we were. The decor was rustic like a country cottage. The tables. The chairs. The windows. On down to the front screen door. Loved it!!!! The food was average; the ambiance & the quaintness of the country cottage setting gave me more life, nostalgia of sorts. Next time I'm in the area, I'll stop in to see more of the other cottages.

Haven't visited here often enough. They have a great menu with "the essentials". I can recommend The mushroom Swiss burger. I've enjoyed their chef salad at another visit. It was fresh, good, and a country salad- nothing fancy- just s good salad with the usual egg, meat, lettuce, tomato etc. Great for a light lunch. Beignets are awesome! Love the country atmosphere. Every time I go here I tell myself I need to come more often. Oh yes, I've hosted a meeting of ten women here twice. They really took good care of us and everyone was pleased with their meals.great place for a meeting

Beignets were awesome here! Showed up just after 6pm, not knowing they were closed and one of the workers came out let us know they had just closed. Dissapointing, but then he offered up free beignets and finger beignets much to my delight. Great service, great beignets, couldn't ask for much more from a place already closed!

I was fortunate to have a good Cajun breakfast of beignets and cafe au lait. My cousin ordered eggs and biscuits and I was so jealous. Scrumptious good, I definitely recommend stopping by if you get the chance.

Tried the open faced breakfast beignet this morning at the suggestion of a church friend. I was not very excited about the suggestion but ventured out... So glad I did! Scrambled eggs and cheese with peppers and onions and a choice is bacon, sausage or ham overran open beignet! Very, very good and only 6.95!!! What's great choice! And as always fabulous local creole coffee!

Great little cabin village grounds with very casual large main house dining. Hand-in-hand famous Cafe' au Lait & beignets prepared to perfection or choice full plate Southern breakfast. A "must remember" dine in when travelling I-10 between Baton Rouge and New Orleans or order beignets fingers to go for the drive. Just a short turn from interstate with easy exit off & on the interstate. Happy eating.

Very nice Cajun atmosphere and coffee, but the food isn't anything special. It's what I can cook at home.

Have passed by the Cajun Village numerous times going to or coming from somewhere else...pretty much never really made the village the destination...Man, what a dumbass! My sweet daughter was talking about wanting some beignets and had eaten some at the Coffee House @ the Cajun Village with her aunts so since she didn't have school on 4/1/13 I told her we'd go get us some... Stopped in around 2:30 PM and had the place to ourselves...you order and pay at the counter....they have laminated menus in a wall holder right next to the register...didn't really need it cause we got 3 orders of beignets, a Cafe au Lait and a small bottled Coke... $14 for 9 beignets and 2 drinks not too shabby...They were outstanding! Took the 3d order home for the boy since we left his teenage angsty ass at the house!! I definitely need to stop in and try some options off the menu cause if those are as good as the beignets then I'm definitely a fool for not stopping in long ago!!

AMAZING food! Best beignets around & not too expensive. Love the to-go option but eating in is nice too when you're not in a rush & the shops are cool to walk around in, and the alligators are fun to check out during the summer.

Cajun village appears to be just a novelty sort of rest stop on the outside, but this coffee house has a good offering for southern breakfast and lunch. The beignets fingers and cafe au lait are just a good as cafe du Monde Not much of a wait normally with indoor seating a, cozy little cottage

On the 3rd day of our girls' weekend in New Orleans and found this little gem of a restaurant and it had the best gumbo we found so far. My friend raved about it the entire time we ate and kept saying we should buy some to take home. We ate at the Gumbo Shop our 1st night and I thought it was good but my friend the connoisseur of Cajun food thought it was lacking in the meat department. The gumbo at the Coffee Shop was full of big pieces of chicken and sausage, had one of the two in each bite! The beignets were even better than Cafe Dumonde (but Cafe Dumonde had the best cafe au lait to date). They were light, airy and came with fillings. I posted the menu. Our ratings are: 5+++ for the gumbo 5 for the beignets 4 for the cafe au lait 3.5 for the shrimp bouree because of the heavy gravy-like sauce 3 for the red beans and rice So if you plan to drive out to Gonzales for the Outlet Malls stop at Exit #182 off of I-10 for a bowl of gumbo!

Try the filled beignets and the shrimp étouffée omelette. They are both delicious. This place is very friendly, clean and provides quick service.
