The food was delicious!! I ordered the sesame chicken (white meat of course), and it was wonderful. So excited to find this restaurant only a mile from our house! Highly recommend!

My favorite Chinese place in the world. I always order the Mandarin chicken and egg drop soup. My husband gets a variety, and I always try his food. It tastes good as well. But the Mandarin chicken is where it's at!!!

While the food was pretty good, crawfish curry, 2 out of 4 orders were wrong. Calling back resulted in being told to not eat, miss lunch, and return the mistake for replacement, "just put in the fridge until tomorrow". This is just poor service to expect the customer to correct their mistake when they correctly read back the order. 4 for food, 1 for service so I gave them a 2.

Wow! What a find. We drove past on a quiet Sunday night and found the parking lot packed. Based on seeing the local support we stopped in and found why they were full. Huge portions and high quality meats and sides. Special shout out to the for the hot and sour soup. Only the lo-mein was average. Pricing was beyond competitive and the restaurant was very, very clean. If you are ion the area, even driving past Slidell on I-10, it's worth stopping by.

The Best Chinese around. We ordered sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Both came with fried rice and egg roll. Everything is delicious. I loved that they have the option or white meat or dark meat chicken. It is thick juicy prices of meat and very tender. Most other Chinese places it is hard to distinguish what it is you are actually eating, not here! They were fast, friendly, and definitely is the top slidell Chinese takeout spot. Trust me, we've tried them all!

I've been deprived of good Chinese food since moving to Dallas two years ago. And even though I grew up in Slidell, I have only eaten at Yee Chinese a couple of times. I didn't appreciate how much of a gem this place is until my last trip home and I could not be happier! First off, the egg rolls and crab rangoon were HUGE. In this case, bigger is better. We ordered the lemon chicken (surprisingly refreshing), the wonton soup, Mongolian beef, shrimp and broccoli, combo fried rice, and a lo mein (and maybe another dish, I can't remember) - all delicious! We had so much food left over that we ate it for lunch the next day, which heated up nicely. Service was tops despite it being a busy time! I will be sure to get my Chinese fix every time I go home.

Nasty. First ate here in the 70's. Had great soup at the time I thought. Ate here in Feb 2012 with my wife for old time fond memories. Had Pork Egg Foo Yun. The skinny: Wonton soup included was OK, but a little watery, noodle only, old fat fried noodles (the taste of old soybean oil type) accompanied with commercial red sweet & sour sauce, no duck sauce. Egg Foo Yun, cooked in dirty grease or wok. Two pancake size served on cheap tasteless "fried" rice. Sauce? Well, a gravy. Literally, a canned cheap brown gravy they didn't even bother to trick up. My wife, stir-fired shrimp vegetable something. Literally, same gravy. Lots of carrots, bok choy, cabbage. It amazes me how some people can serve stuff like this & still be in biz. Did find out, not original owners from when I was living in town in the 70's. Pass on this one.

Fair food. Not as good as it once was before hurricane katrina. Price is fair with large portions although quality is low.

The crab rangoons were mostly empty. The general tso tasted like sweet and sour chicken. The hot and sour soup was delicious. The lo mein was dry and made with spaghetti instead of lo mein noodles...the fried rice was dry....so disappointed!

It's was the absolute worst meal I've ever had. The egg drop soup was burnt. The only difference between the general Cho chicken and sesame chicken were the sesame seeds. I also ordered lo mein which turned out to be plain boiled spaghetti. The only pleasant thing about the experience was the waitress.

Coming from Southern California where the mecca Chinese restaurants are, I was very curious to try Yee Chinese in Louisiana. Let me tell you, after Hurricane Katrina, the family that owns this place did wonders to restore it back and start serving the community again (a story I was told when I got there). When I came in, I was very much welcomed with smiling faces and was treated like family. Since I was a tourist and I think they mainly serve locals, they were happy to see me and made me "Off-menu" type foods and some Slidell favorites. My favorite dish was probably the steamed fish with fresh ginger and scallions in a soy based sauce. It was delicious! I don't know if they have this on their menu now - but if not, they should! I'm just sorry I didn't get to take a picture of it to post. If I ever go back there again, my first stop will be at Yee Chinese!

Simple and reasonable. It appears that most of their business is take out. Lemon chicken was very good. Always very large portions. Constant stream of people in and out.

Prior to Katrina, this was the go-to place to get good Chinese food, with large portions, at a low price. Since Katrina, both the quality and the low prices have taken a beating. I avoid this place now and go to another restaurant that did what Yee's USED to do: Good Chinese food, with large portions, at a low price.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
