Seriously, some good Thai food. The food is very consistently good and totally worth a trip into Slidell. Everyone else has reviewed with such detail, I'll just say that I agree with the 4-5 stars. I hold 5 stars for more upscale dining, but a solid 4 to 5 stars for food quality. A+

We ended up stopping shy of New Orleans because it was getting late. We found this place via yelp and was expecting a little more quality food then what we got. Maybe there are other dishes that are better but I mines was just ok. I got the combination fried rice and didn't like the quality of the shrimp in it. My wife got the Pad Thai dish and her plate was better. We got some papaya salad that was pretty good and refreshing. Overall it was ok and I think the fried rice was a little over price for what it was worth.

My favorite Thai place in Slidell! My husband absolutely loves it too! The staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is amazing. We got the coconut soup to start and would happily have just eaten that for dinner! We also ordered pad thai and the drunken noodles. We thought the pad thai was better and will probably just get that and the coconut soup next time because it was so much food! We will definitely be returning!

My friend and I had just gone on a morning swamp tour, and for some reason, I was in the mood for Thai food. I was too hungry to drive back to New Orleans without eating, so I searched for Thai restaurants in Slidell and Thai Orchid appeared at the top. I proposed that we check it out. Though he was initially incredulous, my friend decided to go along with the plan. Thai Orchid looks rather unassuming and uninviting from its exterior. The interior is somewhat more welcoming. There were no other people in the restaurant when we arrived, and the waiter took our orders promptly. I decided to keep it simple and order the Pad Thai. My friend raised his eyebrows at the soup that was served before our entrees, but I thought it was okay, if uninspiring. The entree itself, though, was quite disappointing. There was NO HEAT whatsoever in the Pad Thai. The sauce was too sweet and it left an oily taste in my mouth. Because we were both very hungry, we kept eating, perhaps against our better judgements. Within thirty minutes of leaving the restaurant, both my friend and I felt genuinely sick to our stomachs. Thankfully my friend got over his sickness within an hour or two, but mine lasted long into the evening. Perhaps it was just an off-day for the chef, but this was definitely the worst Thai meal that I've had in recent memory.

I was taken here for dinner. I love Thai food but on pulling up outside this joint I thought "where are you taking me". It doesn't look much but you'll be surprised. I was disappointed that I couldn't get an alcoholic drink but when the food started coming I honestly didn't care. ( they say this is temporary so I think they are just waiting for their license) The lady working there was lovely and the food was yum and plentiful. I'll definatley go back but if I cold get a beer with my meal I'll put this place up a star!!!

Thai Orchid has to be the most fantastic Thai restaurant in Louisiana. I haven't lived in Slidell for years but I ALWAYS make a point to stop here. The staff is incredible and attentive and the atmosphere is warm. Some of my favorite dishes: papaya salad (hot as they will make it), Thai beef salad, any of their sate, panang curry, drunken noodle, green curry, basil leaves with cashew, to name a few. If you're ever near the Northshore you *must* check out this wonderful restaurant!

First and more most the restaurant does not serve liquor or wine but they do allow you to bring your own and they will open the wine and provide glasses, they charge $5 corkage for this service. I really enjoy eating at this restaurant, the china that they use to serve is well above the norm. This visit I had one of their curries with shrimp, be careful as the tails are still on them

We finally got to try Thai Orchid after going a few times to find them closed. The staff was very friendly and the food was top notch, but the prices were outrageous. Have had same quality of food for much cheaper. I was kind of shocked by it.

This place has been a regular lunch spot. Consistently good quality, prices, and promptness. Ordering dishes extra-spicy, well, is spicy, but not as spicy as could be. Great peanut sauce for app's. I usually get the beef panang curry, and I'm never disappointed!

Thai orchid has the best Thai food ever. The food was very authentic. The service was good. The prices were reasonable. Definitely worth the drive to Slidell if you love asian food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Thai food. The drunken noodles are the bomb and so is the fresh spring rolls. Also, don't forget to finish it off with the mango coconut rice. Sweeeeeeet!
