Great sushi! Very friendly service. Seems like they are always training someone new for some reason. The Slidell roll is great, also the crunchy or snow crab. For an appetizer I recommend steamed gyoza dumplings.

What a hidden gem for Slidell. We passed up one sushi restaurant just to check this one out. When we got here is was a lot less busy and in a tiny strip mall. Since recently moving to the west bank I have learned some of the best food can be found in plain tiny strip malls so I don't judge by the cover these days. Glad that I don't, this place was excellent. Bento boxes are my go to for a Japanese lunch. Usually enough to fill me and under $10. But when I have the SO with me it's never a cheap lunch lol. He of course saw the 911 roll and said that sounds good. I know what that means, hey babe can we order that too, is the translation in case you didn't know. See the picture the bento box was huge and had a full California roll as well as nice thick pieces of fish on my sushi. Jeff had the chicken teriyaki bento. We were both stuffed and I have almost a half of a box left overs to munch on all the way back to Biloxi. Grand total was $33 before tax and tip and worth every penny for lunch. Try them out.

I came here with a few friends the other day, the food is absolutely spectacular, the lack of business is most likely due to location. The prices are pretty fair when it comes to the sushi, and my personal favorites are the sexy roll and crunchy roll. If you're someone who enjoys various textures when it comes to sushi, these two are your best bets. Make sure you ask for some spicy mustard before you start eating. It really adds some zest to your flavor pallet! If you're looking for some excellent appetizers, go for the fried calamari, it's crunchy, and not soggy like some other restaurants. They kind of taste like onion rings due to how crunchy the outer layer is and the squid's tenderness gives it the extra push towards a five star review. Our waiter was extremely friends, and offered refills whenever he saw that we were out of tea and such, so overall the place is a success!

One less star for the mediocre service. The food was pretty delicious & the portions were fair. The atmosphere is very relaxed; the place is kind of small with a sushi bar and some tables and booths to sit at. The service was only okay. The waitress wasn't rude, but she seemed standoffish. Would definitely visit again though!

I have to say, i would have never eaten here fromt just the looks of it. After reading the reviews we decided to try it on Saturday night. The location is really terrible, you'd miss it if you blink, but the inside is definitely a lot better. We were greeted and seated right away (we were the only customers ), i had a glass of merlot and bf had glass of cab, and we ordered a spicy tuna hand roll and a salad to start, we didn't wait long to get our food. We had the slidell roll, old towne roll, and one more that i can't remember the name of sorry! Anyways, everything was sooo good, the old towne roll had blackened tuna which i had never had in a roll before, and it was by far my favorite. The service was excellent as well, even though there was only one other couple there while we ate. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is not because of the food, but the menus are really small print, and it was very dark in there, i have perfect vision and had a hard time reading the menu. Bring your magnifying glass with you and you'll be fine.

The staff here are among the best that I've encountered. All of them stopped to greet me when I walked in to pick up take out one day, just really genuinely sweet people. I dined in on another occasion and had the same experience. They entire staff goes out of their way to make sure that you're enjoying your meal and do it without being overbearing. The food is excellent. My favorite thing to get here is the baked salmon appetizer. It's got snow crab and cream cheese piled on top of the perfectly cooked salmon and they put some sort of sauce on it that is sooooo delicious. It's really fantastic. I've had some of the sushi and although it was all pretty good, nothing compares to the baked salmon appetizer in my opinion. But that's just me. Once I find something on a menu that I just love I tend to stick with that every time is go back to a place. Give Samurai Sushi a try. They totally deserve as much business as they can get.

Went on a Tuesday night around 9pmish, only 1 other table. We sat at the sushi bar. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the fish at the bar looked pretty fresh. We ordered: Lobster Dragon roll (special), 911 Roll, requested not fried, Baked Green Mussels, and a Sashimi appetizer The Lobster Dragon roll was fried - could have been fried a little longer, but it was still tasty...AND it had REAL lobster..not the small "langoustine" kind. We ordered the 911 Roll because it had our favorite..White Tuna. That was pretty good too. Overall, A-OK.

For the past 2 weeks i have ordered from Samurai to-go and every single time the sushi was fresh. The people are friendly. I can't give it 5 stars because i wouldn't go for a dinner night out because the location has a "strip mall" feel, but it's definitely my sushi place of choice in slidell.

I tried the sexy roll which has snow crab, shrimp, cream cheese, and wrapped in soy paper. It's delicious I love dipping the roll in the ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce. If you are a beginner this is a safe start.

GOOD FOOD; SERVICE NOT SO MUCH Start with the good - I ordered the Bento dinner box with Chicken Teriyaki and Sushi. You start with the typical miso soup and green leaf salad with ginger dressing - both were good, although the salad was very wet (not from the dressing but from moisture). The bento box is a GREAT deal - you choose two items to go with the seaweed salad, California roll, white or fried rice (fried $1 extra) and stuffed crab appetizers (2). Everything was very good - chicken was moist and flavorful but not drowning in the teriyaki sauce, the seaweed salad was very good, the stuffed crab things hot and very good as well. I liked the fried rice but am not used to and don't care for corn and green beans mixed in - I am used to seeing peas (which I don't like as well) and carrots but this had everything. The other thing that could have been better would be the onions under the chicken - they were not sweet onions, which I much prefer - and they needed to be cooked longer. The best part though was the sushi that came with the bento box was not the usual undesirable pieces of sushi - this came with two pieces of salmon, two pieces of tuna and one piece of white tuna - all were excellent. The price for this box is dirt cheap - I think $19, and frankly two people could have eaten it and been satisfied. So overall very good food. The service on the other hand was inconsistent. When I first walked in the host, some slacker named Andre, was far more interested in his phone than the restaurant. He really gave off an air of "I don't really want to be here." He came over a couple of times during my meal when I finished something and asked in a very strange way if he could take my empty plate - he was just very annoying and condescending. At one point the folks in the table behind me were talking with him and Andre was ripping on his boss... The waitress was a young girl who did not seem to know very much plus she messed up my order. I liked her a lot better though because at least she was not condescending! Overall I would return again but next time might choose to sit at the sushi bar to see if I can get less attitude from the people who work there; or I would get the food to go. Again, the food was well worth it and the value was phenomenal - but this place could be over the top with decent service Salud!

5 stars for good service and good food. We came in at 10:00 at night which I was apprehensive about because I hate being "that person" who comes in late & because it's in a location that is kind of hidden so it wasn't super busy on a Friday, but I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Sushi chef even asked from across the room if everything was good, which everything was great. We tried like 6 different things and I liked all of them. All plated beautifully of course. Everyone gave sincere goodbyes as well. Definitely recommend.

Extremely satisfied with everything here at this sushi spot! Very friendly and attentive service! Quick service I might add and food was served very quick and fresh. Ordered 4 rolls for me and my husband to share and these rolls were insanely huge really was expecting your typical small 5 to 4 piece rolls but not here.... Definitely ordered way to much took the rest home with us though which was good. Arrived just in time to order some beer during happy hour! Great local sushi spot very close to me and will be back to try all their types of rolls!

I had lunch here today and it was great. All 3 of the employees greeted us when we came in. I don't do raw fish, but my boyfriend said it was super fresh and yummy! I got my usual avocado roll, but we also shared a Mardi Gras roll....it was AMAZING!!!! It has snow crab and avocado inside and thin slices of green mango and a little bit of Roe on the outside. Then they put a bunch of yummy sauce on it including spicy mayo. Mmmmmm!!!

Went to Samurai Sushi for a late lunch around 2:00 PM. We were greeted by a super friendly staff. The waiter, the sushi chef and the cashier all welcomed us to the restaurant. I ordered the triple sashimi and it was super fresh and delicious!!! Also the Mardi Gras roll was fantastic! I would definitely reccomend to anyone wanting sushi in Slidell.
