I was craving Mexican, so I ordered dinner to-go. First, there is an up charge for take out orders. :( Second, you don't get chips or salsa. :( My quesadillas were mediocre at best. The chicken was bland, and it was it was generally lacking any flavor. The guacamole salad was decent... Well, I ate the guacamole and left the iceberg lettuce.. So I guess the guacamole was decent, you really can't screw up plain lettuce. So... Instead of spending $13 for this take out Mexican, I suggest spending $6 for Taco Bell. Same flavor, same quality, half the cost. Or just try another restaurant. 2 stars awarded because of the quick and friendly service.

I tried this place for the first time last week. After trying Mi Patio I was thinking we might not be able to get sny really good mexican food in the Slidell area, but this place was great! I tried the shrimp quesadilla, my boyfriend had the steak quesadilla and the double decker taco, and my friend had the taco salad with chicken. The were all very delicious! We also had a pitcher of the peach margrita that was great! I will be back here very soon!

The food is good. The outdoor seating is wonderful, when the weather permits. The service is top-notch. The margaritas are "ok". The atmosphere is very nice. Definitely worth a visit.

Tasty Mexican restaurant with top notch service. Look, Mexican food is alright. To be honest, when I'm in the mood for "Mexican" food, I go to Taco Hell or cook me up some taco meat and make myself a tasty beef and cheese burrito or overloaded tacos. This place is better than that, though. Other Mexican joints that I've tried always leave me feeling as though I would rather have saved my money and gone to Taco Hell. This place satisfies my hunger and in a tasty way! They do have a few beers on tap, but Mexican beers suck no matter where you go, so... at least Dos Equis amber is the LEAST crappy Mexican beer you can buy. I usually get their combo meals which are always more than I can eat and when you tell them you want extra shredded cheese, they don't skimp on that, either. I've had a few other dishes here and it's always good. I've never been disappointed in this place. Seriously, other Mexican restaurants just seem to always suck. Bland food, crappy service, makes you appreciate Taco Bell.... Los Tres Amigos is the opposite of all that. It's very very close to what you want every Mexican restaurant to be.

I love this place! The workers know me by name!!! They always have great specials for margaritas!!! The food comes out fast every time. I recommend getting the large queso because it's deliciouso!!!! ;) Quesadillas are good, a little on the small side but they are a reasonably price so you can get two. The fajita soup is also really good too! Saturday nights are karaoke nights & it's highly entertaining!!!! Family oriented fun authentic food and reasonably priced!!! Can't beat it!!!

I am from California and lived in Texas. So I know my Mexican food. Moved here on my husband's military order's. So happy because I heard the food is great but lacking on the authentic Mexican part. This is the closest it comes. A little wait here and there but the food is good. Everyone is nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Love the fried icecream. Yummmy.

I had the enchiladas verdes and my wife had the enchiladas supreme. Both were very good. Excellent sauces and meats. The corn tortillas were slightly crispy and great! Would definitely come here again. Kids menu was just right for our seven year old too.

Terrible, sorry to say. The only reason I gave one star is bc the waitress was excellent. Too bad the food sucked. The chips and salsa were good but everything we tried tasted very old and microwaved.

Really good food. Great service. Kids food came out very quick(thank you for that). Very reasonably priced(kids meals $0.99 on Monday). Salsa had just a little kick so everyone could enjoy it. Lovely decor. We will be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
