There were only four reviews here, but they were so glowing we thought we'd backtrack a couple of miles on our road trip to try it--today *is* actually National Fried Chicken Day (July 6th)! Arrived at 2pm on a Sunday to find a line in the road waiting to get in the driveway! 15 cars to the drive-through speaker, so I walked up (no dine-in or restroom, so be prepared to picnic or eat in your car). Chicken was note-worthy, dirty rice excellent, crunchy sweet coleslaw. Definitely a local favorite, understandably!

Why this doesn't have hundreds of reviews at five stars is beyond me! The chicken is moist and crispy the red beans and rice are so ridiculous that I'd honestly put them on par with the chicken. The service was fast and the food was hot with the perfect amount of Louisiana accent to give you authenticity.

This drive thru fried chicken place is fryin' it up right. At first glance of my chicken, I thought to myself, uh oh, it looks like Churches', then to my delight, it tasted nothing like that god forsaken grease pit! Woohoo! Awesome chicken! Thank you. You brightened my day.

This is the best chicken ever!! I'm not over exaggerating either. If I eat chicken from somewhere else I hate it. You must order your combo with a strawberry drink lol. There is always a line at any of the locations but it's worth the wait.

I could say so much but so little needs to be said so your interests will be peaked and you will go! I know you're thinking...it's just fried chicken and normally I would agree and I prefer another fast-food national chain that I won't mention so you don't discredit me. BUT..or ALAS.....here's what you need to know: I. Service = Brash & not always the friendliest. Just pay already. II. Food = Always....You hear me.....ALWAYS: Hot, Fresh & Juicy b. they still offer bread rolls not a biscuit. c. Will always carry Strawberry POP (Soda for any Northerners that make it this way) d. Skinny, hot fries. e. Greasy but much need carb-loading dirty rice. OMG! f. I only eat white meat+fries+rice+red pop+pepper+extra roll. Ohhhhh! They have no regard for Diabetes/Heart Disease/Blood Pressure issues: the seasoning salt on those fries is DASHED ON and trust me you'll want it this way. Anything else just isn't SOUTHERN CLASSIC. III. Speed = It's a crap shot if the walk-up window is sometimes faster than the drive-thru but generally EVERYONE knows the routine so things move Expeditiously or refer back to Point I. (Remember! Service is/or can be Brash) lol I would enter rehab for this place but since they will take plastic (since 2009); I just make sure to not visit as much as possible. It is a hard thing to shake. And I'm not weak - it's just that good. I used to make it my business to stop here 1st straight from the SHV regional airport with cash in hand. I can't make this stuff up. You have to go and get it yourself.

Best fried chicken I've ever tried, HANDS DOWN. KFC and just about every other fried chicken place out there can eat their hearts out. Seriously, this chicken is hot, fresh, juicy and just overall delicious. I am never eating any other type of fried chicken ever.again. We had takeout, so I can't rate the restaurant aspect of this, but honestly, with food like this nothing else really matters. 5 stars for sure.

All I know is that I crave this Chicken. I've had it several times on vacation. Just hot, delicious flavors, juicy, and crunchy. The place looks trapped in time. Just love it.

I have read all the other reviews and thought this place would be awesome. So I waited in the long line to get some chicken. The line wasn't long because they had a million customers, it's because they moved so darn slow! So I got my chicken, and some "Cajun rice", after waiting for about 15 minutes. The chicken was pretty good, not the BEST I have ever had, but it was very good. The rice on the other hand was horrible. It was greasy as hell and it didn't even taste marginally good. Because of the rice and slow service, I only give 3 stars. If the rice was as good as the chicken, and they could move a little faster then they would get 5 stars.
