I love this Shreveport staple. They've been doing sushi before it was trendy. I recommend the Hello kitty, Liz Roll, the Shreveport roll and well the miso soup is the best! The waitstaff here has always been friendly and fun to talk to! They are always willing to answer questions and are very knowledgeable about the food. If you're not into sushi you can always order from the hibachi grill.

When I was in high school the coolest kid around invited me to his party. I was skeptical. Surely a trick was going to be played on me. I entered the party with my shoes tied tightly and quickly located the exits. Within ten minutes the coolest kid around showed me how to dance and he gave me a high-five. In between Dallas and Lafayette, we stopped to get some sushi in Shreveport. I was skeptical. Surely this wouldn't be very good. I entered the restaurant with a protein bar in my pocket and quickly located the exits. Within ten minutes a plate of beautiful sushi was placed before me and I was high-fiving all of the other satisfied, dancing, customers.

Chaos, pure chaos. Went for lunch, I honestly don't remember when I last had this place and was curious why been so long since I have gone, now I remember why.Seated myself at Sushi bar as was just me and all the tables were full. Ordered the lunch maki combo, came with 2 rolls and soup. Soup came piping hot but with no spoon/ladle, looked around no one had one so OK. Server was quick, but the entire staff seemed to be moving a mile a minute, as I watched menus on bar next to me get thrown into a stack as they sped past. She was friendly but literally the quickest interactions ever, purely rushed. Food - Ordered the shrimp tempura and eel avocado rolls. Instant regret when food came. Tiny and under-filled. I sure hope this isn't the same as the 10$ shrimp tempura roll you have solo on menu. The tiniest piece of shrimp and eel aside, it was bland, very bland. Rice while correct texture had zero flavor, nil. Sure $9.95 for a lunch special isn't a horrible deal but can literally go right down the road and get twice the portion of same exact rolls for same exact price...... Decor - The thought "duct tape" came to mind as I looked around. It literally is held together. Everything is old, falling apart, tiles tore up, tape on sushi bar... everything needs updating. It was reasonably clean, just not something I'm excited to see at a sushi place. The one plus and reason they get 2 stars is speed. I literally was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes in middle of lunch rush. However, couldn't eat my fortune cookie fast enough as I was still hungry after the rolls. I am glad this place succeeds, really. I don't however understand how everyone speaks so highly and regards this as "best sushi ever". Why is it so hard to find a solid sushi place in the SBC area anymore?

Weekends are crazy, it took forever to get the waiter to come to our table and to get our food. My waiter even forgot my order! My order was the last one to come. And because it was about to close, I had to eat fast. I ordered a Zuno Roll and it wasn't even all that either.

I've had much better sushi and hibachi elsewhere in town. Not to mention, two people in our party never received their food. To say I was disappointed may be an understatement. I would recommend other Japanese venues. For sushi, try Sushi Gen on Line Avenue. For hibachi, try Tokyo or Hana.

Chicken Teriyaki is good here, but I have rarely had really bad teriyaki dishes anywhere. THe cooked dished are decent, but I was not so enthusiastic with the Sushi. I think I would rather pay less and go to Kroger.

Alright. I'm just going to put this out there. A girlfriend went to Ichiban, and literally had a live roach in her fried rice. Now, you can say that was the one random chance...but I, sir, disagree. I've heard that they've cleaned up their act since this incident, so I will not say how it's been in, say, the last year. But I've been to their new place in Pierre Bossier Mall, and it's pretty good. BEFORE said roach incident, this was the only place I ever went for sushi. Now, that was years ago when there were no other places for sushi in the area, so take it how you will.

Where to start. Soup was served lukewarm and is broth only. No tofu. Served without a spoon? Sushi is not very fresh and is just unexciting to the senses. Waitress uniform was dirty. Wait staff eating in dining room while serving customers. One of worst sushi restaurants I've been in.

Rude service and the manager or owner (whoever he is) is unprofessional. Quality of the food is not fresh! I would rather spend more money somewhere else.

I went to Ichiban about 2 weeks ago with my fiance. We just moved to Shreveport and are looking for a yummy sushi place. We had 2 rolls (don't remember their names) and several pieces of sushi (yellow tail, tuna, salmon). The rolls and sushi are HUGE and that might explain why it was pricier than I expected. Taste wasn't that great and I wasn't impressed. Also the ambiance is probably the worse part as there really isn't much of one. It doesn't even have that "hole in the wall feel". I'm planning on trying several other sushi places and may only return if I'm desperate and I'll try one of the cooked dishes which seemed to be what everyone was getting.

I ordered well here, opting for cooked stuff and only dabbling in the sushi. Smart, I figure, as there wasn't anyone at the sushi bar at 6:00pm on a Friday night. Try the chicken bento, which comes with some (Americanized) teppan style grilled veggies and chicken, two bits of california roll, some rice, some tempura and some salad. My fiancee picked up two sushi rolls, both of which were heavy on the mayo. That was probably for the best. I ordered a tuna roll myself, and the fish was of decent enough quality. I'm spoiled in California, though, so really it didn't do it for me. We came in right before a big rush, and the rush was a huge problem on the servers. Our server was delightfully friendly, so I can't hold it against her, but they really needed more people to keep things moving. We waited quite a while to get our check and a to-go box. Cooked dishes and friendly staff seem to be Ichiban's highlights.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Shreveport. Ichiban is both one of the most affordable places in Shreveport to eat sushi and also has a great variety of specialty rolls. The food and service is consistently good, and I don't really have any complaints except that sometimes the floor feels a little dirty. Definitely worth a visit if you like sushi.

Back when Ichiban was the only place in town to get sushi, it was amazing. I can safely say that the food is still good, but the service leaves a little to be desired. The waitstaff, for the most part, is all pretty young and inexperienced. Sushi chefs are nice. I hate that they had to cover the hibachi area. :( In any case, my husband and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary there this year, and other than a little mix up with the food, it was great.
