I would give it five stars, but I am also a bit turned off by the focus on political agendas. I love love love the chicken waldorf sandwich and cream of tomato soup. My hubby likes the chicken crepes, and we both love the scones with lemon curd. The chocolate mousse is to-die-for! We have only been disappointed in two items: leek and potato soup, and the sticky toffee pudding. I am not a tea drinker, but love their hot fruity teas. Give it a try!

Regal Salad, Tea Sandwiches, asparagus soup & Tomato Soup all delicious. Great place to celebrate a special occasion, birthday. Great selection of teas & scones. They have started a Downton AbbyTea. Looks like fun. Not a cookie cutter place or a chain restaurant. A Shreveport icon.

The Glenwood Tearoom was long a favorite of mine for wonderful food and delicious tea. I used to go for breakfast when they served this amazing cinnamon apple french toast. . .oh gah, it was good! The Victorian soup is the best soup I have ever had. Seriously, it's a greenish soup with ham, peas, potatoes and I think leeks but it is so fantastic. I could buy it by the gallon. I also love the scones that come with clotted cream and jam. Ooh and the chocolate blessing which are these crepes with chocolate and strawberries. Of course, you can't forget about the tea. I'm partial to just plain British breakfast but they do have a huge variety. These days, I would be worried about stepping in the door if you don't adhere to the owner's political agenda. The Tea Party stuff is really off putting if you're a believer in the exact opposite but even disconcerting I would assume if you're a moderate. There's um, a big focus on the politics in these doors and that takes away from the ambiance and charm of the tearoom. Of course, I understand the owner can voice her opinions in her own business but I just found it too distracting to feel comfortable dining there again. I suppose I'll have to dig up recipes online to create my own soup!

One of my favorite unique lunch spots in Shreveport, LA. I agree with Shelby that the Regal Salad and Victorian soup are great (that is my usual combo at least). The Chocolate crepe is amazing (I think it is called The Chocolate Bliss)!!! The wait staff have always been polite and courteous. It is a perfect place for a Bridal shower or Mother-Daughter tea. We always love to shop for jewelry after lunch or tea in their large gift shop.

Really love this place but hate that everywhere you look, they are throwing their tea-party political agenda down your throat. Tea Party and a tea room is not cute, it's offensive! Makes me uncomfortable and I don't come to eat there anymore because of it. I feel alienated and afraid they might spit in my tea if they knew my party affiliation. A good eating establishment should be non-partisan to be welcoming to everyone. Embrace CHANGE and take down the tea party propaganda! Then my friends and I will come back.

Wonderful, authentic British tearoom. Try the chicken chutney pecan salad, Victorian soup, and the white chocolate macadamia nut scone. Have tried most things on the menu- everything is good! The Angel's Dream tea is a must!

So i use to work here, and now about 300 miles away but i still crave a few of my favorites from there. The regal salad is a great starter and the dressing is AMAZING! The victorian soup is so creamy and i had never had anything like it until i tried it here. I think the chiken waldorf salad is better than the chutney, but both are delicious. I feel their hot entrees leave something to be desired, so if your going for a nice lunch stick with a soup/salad or sanwich combo to leave satisfied! Also their scones are really good with the curd and cream and the toffee pudding is to die for!
