Update: Gave it a second chance (Chipotle's line was too long). Regretted the decision within 5 minutes... Rude workers, dry food and the place is a mess. You have to smother everything in salsa to get any kind of juiciness and then you just end up with a big bowl of salsa. The quedo turns into putty within 5 minutes, the chips are salty and unless you like cleaning up your are before you eat I would go somewhere else.

It's good. My burrito was lacking in the meat department but maybe because I didn't ask for extra. The burrito was good other than that. It reminds me of Chipotle but with different flavored wraps. I got the spinach one with grass fed beef as the inside. Service fast and friendly. Would come again.

The food was good-they grill their own chicken-not prepackaged. BUT, there were 5-6 employees behind the counter, and they just could not seem to handle the 4 people in line. Next time, I will go to Moe's in the same parking lot.

I don't see what the hype is about. It was average. It was freezing in the place. When we asked a waiter if he could adjust the temp, he said, "You'll have to talk to the regional manager," and walked off. I don't see a need to go back. It's no better than any other place.

Food was good... Not spectacular Not out of this world... In my humble opinion I would place this above Moe's but below Chipotle... But each has pros and cons. My burrito was a good size and the chips were good and both Chipotle and Free Birds nickel and dime you for extras... So would I go again?? Yes, but not for a while.

Highly recommended. We eat here often. Fresh ingredients and usually very tasty. Lines sometimes move slowly. Queso is a bit spicy (good for us). They do charge for extra guacamole and sour cream. More variety than a Chipotle and we like the taste better, though both are good. We get the chicken or steak but the carnitas are a good choice also. Good variety of veggies to add to the burrito.

I have been waiting MONTHS for Freebirds to open. We went for opening night last night, waited about an hour...but it was definitely worth the wait!!! I got the Freebird size and I ate the whole thing...it was so delicious. I cannot tell you how happy I am that there is now a good burrito place in town. I love all the choices. The staff was also very friendly and helpful even though the place was packed. They also handed out samples of their pot bownies...which were excellent. Thanks for opening here!

Chips were too salty. Service was very slow. They charge extra for guac, sour cream, and queso if you want them on your entree, raising the price substantially. I think it's .89 EACH added item. Was very spicy, even tho I had nothing spicy on my burrito. So I don't know. Might as well go to Moe's or Izzo's. none of them are as good as QDoba IMO. Wish we had one here. Overpriced.

I ate here March 24, 2014 for lunch. The place was full but the line moved quickly. The staff was friendly to us. This was my first time at a make your own burrito place, so I don't have much to compare it to. I'd like to go back and try other combinations. Mine tasted great, although the Spanish rice wasn't all the way done; it was a tiny bit crunchy. The sweet tea was out when I tried to get that for my drink. We ate outside on the patio since it was super crowded inside, which was nice since the weather was pleasant. Overall, I'd say it is a good lunch stop to try out.

The restaurant was dirty. The serving line had stuff spilled everywhere and didn't look very appetizing. The staff was really slow and unresponsive. At one point they forgot my burrito, only half completed and I had to flag down employee to finish it. The food wasn't too great either. Overall this was the worst Freebirds I have been to. Wait till Chipotle opens in 2014 to get you fast casual burrito fix in Shreveport and skip this place.

Healthy food prepared in front of you, what more could one ask for? Salsa was delicious, I'm planning my next trip as I write this review!

Words cannot simply express how much of a fan I am of this place! I love everything about it! One thing that drives me crazy about Shreveport-Bossier is the utter lack of original, creative, reasonably-priced, get in and get out type restaurants and/or food trucks that also make exciting and at least somewhat healthy, fresh and fast food. And though this is a chain, at least it is a good one! It has the aforementioned healthier options, very tasty, a great online ordering system and a separate pick up register within the restaurant. They also have a great, free rewards card that racks up points quickly and gives returns even quicker in the form of free burritos, sides, drinks and apparel. I like the location of this restaurant and I live close by. The service is always good and fast. Don't be afraid to try your burrito wrapped with a spinach tortilla...awesome! This is my favorite fast food restaurant in the SBC!

I eat here quite a bit, and If I didn't love their food, I'd quit coming. Over the past few times I've been, the staff has just gotten more rude and stingy. I'm afraid chipotle is going to take all their business if they aren't careful. But I LOVE their food.

I need to edit my review. The customer service here blows me away. They are so happy and helpful! I went in today for the first time since being diagnosed as celiac and I explained to the woman working that gluten was like poison to me and she would need to change her gloves. She was amazing. She even ran into the back to grab a clean tray in case there were any traces on the ones in the front. I forgot to get her name, but she had really long braids pulled back in a pony tail. She made me feel normal and I am so thankful to her. By the way- for those celiac like me- avoid the steak, BBQ sauce, tortillas (obviously), ranch dressing, cookies and brownies. I take mine to-go because I was hooked on eating my bowl with BBQ, so now I'll have add it at home. I've been a fan of Freebirds since we lived in Texas in 2009. Almost every day one semester during my BIO class I would order lunch from my laptop and pick it up 20 mins later. A white meat chicken burrito bowl with extra Spanish rice, mixed cheese, roasted veggies, corn salsa, tomatoes, lots of lettuce, cilantro, BBQ sauce (seriously- try it) and a squeeze of lime. I was going in so often and using my fanatic card that I was getting free meals constantly. Every once in awhile I would splurge and get a pot brownie. They are SO GOOD. These days I don't get out to the local Freebirds very often- I live about 25 mins away. But when I'm able, I am all about that burrito bowl. However- each time I've been in I haven't seen the pot brownies. They are still on the menu though. I've never had a problem with customer service here in Shreveport at all. As a matter of fact, a couple of times I have had to wait a minute or so for the white meat chicken to finish cooking and they ALWAYS ask me if I would like a free drink for the wait. Okay- just went back today and they DON'T have Pot Brownies. They have Dulce De Leche Brownies and they are not as good. Boo.

Food is low average. If you real hungry as we were...it's ok.....the meat was dry (chicken) and chewy (steak). Rice in burrito was oj...no real flavor of Spanish rice.... Kinda expensive with meal $11 Kids meal ok 3.99.....

It's hard for me to be overly excited for my experience here when I was first introduced (9 years ago) to a burrito shop similar to this; Chipotle. Because of that, I unfortunately compare other burrito shops to an unrealistic standard that probably Chipotle won't even be able to meet now. The food was tasty and I was very shocked to see the "Monster" size burrito they would make; however, just a few weeks ago, I saw that their menu has changed and they no longer advertise this giant burrito. Perhaps it's in their "secret menu" or perhaps they just simply stopped making it. They should make it into a food challenge (unless they do that already)--that would definitely make it interesting. I don't know how many people really love tofu out there, but I wished they offered this as an option--but that's just simply me wanting tofu since I actually like tofu. I DO love the tinfoil designs people make and leave in the restaurant. I tried to make one but pretty sure my kids gave it a -2/10 rating so it went straight into the trash. Sigh. ;)

I read the comments before I came here and already inferred that it was going to be a mediocre made to order burrito joint. upon entering the establishment you are quickly met with an array of 60s and 70s hippie/motorcycle era motif topped with a Statue of Liberty atop a Harley Davidson motorcycle suspended from the ceiling. The gentleman at the counter speaks the cute ingredients rather quickly so sometimes it is hard to understand him. I ordered the spinach wrap with the spicy chicken. When it came time for the cold ingredients I was informed that they were out of sour cream. I also noticed that the lettuce appeared to be somewhat wilted and that the tomatoes looked a little old.I ordered a combo which comes complete with a drink, a decent portion of chips and a large drink. The total came to a little over nine dollars which is cheap in the made to order burrito world. The texture of the first bite was pleasant. I enjoy a chewy and tougher tortilla because it seems to hold together better. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy by any means and was rather flavorless. The queso was actually good but a bit on the salty side. Overall the establishment is as advertised and has decent prices for the potions and the service provided.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
