If you want a good home cooked breakfast this is the place to go. Plenty of food at a great price.

It is a tiny tiny place with a few counter stools and a few booths, but the food is to die for. I had the blue platte special, meatloaf, mashed potatoes n gravy, smothered cabbage. The others had chicken fried steak sandwich, chicken fried pork sandwich. All was delish!

Amazing. The omelet was the best. Jalapeños that will wake you up! Biscuits like grandma makes. The real deal! Don't eat breakfast anywhere else. Grabbed a piece of coconut cream pie for later. Unbelievable! All homemade!!

Tried the cotton bowl grill for the first time and the food was great and the service was excellent. I had the omelet and my husband had the cheeseburger, and it didn't disappoint. The grill is the quintessential diner with no fancy aires which, in my opinion, only adds to the charm. We will definitely go back when we are in town!

My omelette was delicious. The cook put a ton of bacon in it. The wait staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was exactly what I desired for breakfast. I would definitely go back to this diner.

This place clearly shows some serious use and could use a few renovations, but it was the service that gives it 4 stars. My husband and I went for lunch on a weekday, and were pleasantly surprised with the Cotton Boll Grill. When you first walk in, you may have some doubts, but hopefully you'll get our server. I felt like I was at grandma's house, and she wanted me to feel comfortable. I got a nummy hamburger and fries, and an endless soda. My husband got the fried chicken plate, and was a little less than impressed, but I don't think he's much of a fried chicken eater. Honestly, it tasted like KFC to me, but I like KFC (as long as it's hot). They did bring out my husband's meal about 5 minutes before mine, but the waitress apologized and was very solicitous, so no harm, no foul. The best part was, when we were getting ready to go, our waitress asked me if I wanted my most recent full glass of the endless sodas to go. And yes, I did, but I've NEVER been asked that by a server. Seriously thoughtful and less waste. She won me over. Thank you, Cotton Boll Grill!

Wow, cool little place! I met the owner, Leslie, who brought out her homemade cheesecake and gave everyone a free slice after breakfast. Great cheesecake, great down home cooking food! I wish there were more places like this by me instead of all the corporate restaurants!!!

I don't enjoy The Cotton Boll nearly as much as I should, and today's visit reminds me of that. I usually order one of the daily specials, but I really wanted a burger today. Once I saw the patty melt on rye, I knew what I wanted. I made it a double with mustard and the rest is history.

Excellent breakfast and lunch hole in the wall. Great service in the city with small town smiles. Food was great. Hit and Made to order on the grill in front of your face. Only bad thing is you will smell like the grill all day which might not be so bad. LOL. Also the booths are smaller. So larger people may find it difficult to dine in. As far as food though. It's a solid 5star for the type it advertises to be.

Yes! Yes! Yes! So good! Would drive to Shreveport just to eat here again! We had the Patty Melt, and the Pork Po Boy. Both were finger lickin good, and make you want to go back for more! Service was excellent as well. Family that owns it, was quick, and very customer service oriented. Could definitely be a regular spot if it were closer.

Great little local place, super friendly staff and delicious breakfast and lunch food. I just wish there was a local joint like this in Denver instead of all the hip(ster) brunch places

Finger licking, slap your momma good is the only way I can explain the experience I had at Cotton Boll restaurant. The people there are so friendly, and that makes you feel as if you where at home. If you are in the Shreveport, LA area and in need of some good Sourthern cooking you better try this place.

My family stopped in from a break from our loyal stop (Strawn's). We loved the place!! Great breakfast options -- awesome service -- fun atmosphere. A "hole-in-the-wall" local diner spot well worth the time. Good southern cooking. . .

4.5 if I could, but I'll round up. This is a great place for breakfast. It is a little hole in the wall with nostalgic decor. The ceilings are low and the place is a bit cramped, so I felt like a giant. The place was flowing with "regulars" that seemed to know each other and and the staff well. The menu consisted of all of the usual stuff you'd expect at a diner like this: omelets, bacon etc. The food was very tasty and the grits were a hit. I definitely choose the breakfast food here over any of the other diners such as Strawn's or Southfield Grill. The only problem is that they are only open on weekdays, so that makes things difficult if you aren't in the area. Service was also very good with Southern hospitality at its best. While I love to frequent the other Shreveport diners, I think I may have just found my favorite of them all. I'll have to give it another whirl and see if it stands up to my first impression. FYI, there is a drive-thru! Major bonus.

How do I begin to explain the joy of eating at the Cotton Boll Grill? First, the waitresses are the sweetest people on Earth, whether they're jokingly making fun of one another, recommending hangover cures or just generally being loud and fun. Secondly, I think this place defines the appeal of comfort food. Try an enormous club sandwich (the ham on the club sandwich is actually a HAM STEAK, not sliced ham!), the fried chicken special, or simply the best, juiciest fried shrimp I have ever tasted. It is a stroke of genius that this place is located next door to the Christus Schumpert Emergency Room entrance - one of these days they're gonna come load me onto a gurney after Wednesday Fried Chicken from the Cotton Boll. But at least I'll go to the afterlife with a smile on my face. On a final note: You have to love a place where, when a customer asks "Do you have any more of today's special?" the waitress seriously responds "I don't know, I'm gonna have to ask my momma." This is the joy of living in the South incarnate.

4.75 stars. I love this place & look forward to breakfast there at least every month. Service is great in a time-warp back to 1963. Terrific breakfasts.
