Came for pre interview dinner at LSUHSC to meet with the residents and attendings. I was glad I did because I was considering just sleeping in and ordering Chinese, but decided it would be better to be sociable and grab free dinner. I should've checked the website for attire because everyone came in dressy with ties, and I strolled in tieless with short sleeve in jeans. Anyways, on to the food! Started off with salad and ended with chocolate cake. Main course we were given tons of options, the two most popular were red snapper and beef tenderloin. I am a man, so I chose the latter. I was pretty satisfied with the meal, and finished it fast. I think I was the first one done at my table. Also, I was really tempted to take out my phone and take pictures, but refrained. You guys will just have to trust me that the food was good without visual support.

Great food, great atmosphere, with live music on the piano and saxophone. Waitress was polite. The food was delicious and we will definitely go back

Best fetuccini alfredo anywhere! I used to live here and routinely dined at this place. Whenever I'm back in town, I make reservations. The alfredo cream sauce is wonderful. Do call 911 ahead of time to let them know where you will be. This dish is so rich it may clog one or two coronary arteries before you can pay the bill. The veal marsala is great, too, and they also have a veal dish with a nice cream sauce that includes blackberries........magnifique!!! Great atmosphere to take someone special for a nice quiet dinner. All in all, you can't go wrong here for italian cuisine.

I come here once in awhile when I'm in town visiting family. Great decoration, great atmosphere (especially the Green Room). The food is decently priced for what you get. I ordered the Saffron Rissoto and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted. Bloody Mary's are made from scratch and are delicious as well!

I love the Green Room's atmosphere! The service is always 5 star!!! I always order the mushroom tortellini, it's that fabulous. I just enjoy this dining experience so much.

My seafood pasta was delicious. My significant other's chicken pasta was not as delicious. Live music. Nice restaurant setting. A little pricey. I like going next door to Vintage for their very reasonable wine flights. Vintage also serves the same menu in a more casual, but swanky environment. Dark with TVs and you can order cigars to smoke in there, so if you don't like having smoke around during dinner then I'd suggest having dinner at the restaurant and having wine/drinks and dessert at Vintage.

This is an upscale restaurant, I have been here numerous times and every time I have been here the customer service has been highly professional and high quality. I was in a party of 45 in this restaurant it took a while for food but we did not mind because we were having a good time. The food was great during that visit. The price matched the comfort and value returned in the services and atmosphere. This visit, I ordered the pan seared creamy pesto scallops app and the balsamic, honey and demi glase sauce over lamb chops with risotto, both were very good. The lamb was cooked perfect, but the sauce on the lamb contained too much balsamic vinegar and lacked the deep rich flavor of the demi glase. The proportion of olive oil to sauce was wrong as well. I would not have put olive oil on the plate. The olive oil ruined my taste buds and masked the rich flavors of the Demi sauce, I am hopeful that the flavor was there, but I am uncertain. My mom ordered the seafood linguini and we were disappointed with the size of the shrimp (we are in Louisiana, impress me as much with the quality. It was disappointing to get 40-80 count shrimp.) and we requested an alfredo sauce instead of the spicy sauce, she received the olive oil coated linguini. It has been a while since I last visited this restaurant, it was not due to food quality, it was due to my budget. Today was a special event and my mom asked me to choose a really nice restaurant to celebrate, I chose here. Leaving the restaurant my mom stated that she would have had a better meal at Olive Garden. This was not due to anything but the food quality during this particular visit. Maybe they had a bad night. I gave three stars this time, only because the customer service was so good.

Generous pour on single malt scotch! Yay! We sat at the bar while waiting for our table and the bartender was very nice. Noticed that I didn't really touch my wine he asked me whether I liked it - and I didn't. So, he offered to switch to another one and recommended one that he usually drinks, which is house pinot noir. I usually get their pasta dish and most of the time, it's excellent but last time it was a bit overcooked. Their signature veal dishes are tad bit sweet for my taste but has good flavor. Ever since Giuseppe went downhill, we go to this place whenever i have Italian cravings. Can't compare to some of the best hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurants in NJ, but it is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Shreveport. So, maybe 3.5 star.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
