I eat here at least once a week for lunch. The steak tampicana is phenomenal!!! I get it with extra grilled veggies... And the homemade tortillas tops it off!

I've been to this restaurant several times over the past 4 years. I've only had the fajitas and they are always excellent. Beef could use a little more salt but that's easy for me to add. You just can't find homemade tortillas this good anywhere in Baton Rouge. The complimentary bean dip is amazing and this is coming from a person that doesn't like beans! My wife enjoys the tortilla soup.

This place has always been pretty good. I've been coming here since this place was Papacito's, and I've always enjoyed the food. With the exception of one occasion, the service has generally always been very good as well. I typically order the Chimichanga with ground beef, and it is always delicious! This is a great place to have in Prairieville! Stop in and give it a try if you're looking for good Mexican (Tex-Mex) food!

Won't go back to this place for a while. The service was great, but how do you mess up Mexican food? The sauces were bad, seemed like they are trying too hard. The beans had no flavor. The enchiladas were cold. The ground meat had no flavor, how did they accomplish that one? Seemed like frozen precooked meat from Taco Bell.

I really enjoy eating here. Service is friendly, and the food is very good. Oh! And the top shelf margarita is great.

This place to me is just ok watered down Mexican food. The salsas are not spicy and too watery. Ground beef tacos?. What, hehe. The flour tortillas are fresh though. idk, it's just standard stuff with a side of beans and rice. It's not bad by any means, just bland. The workers are super nice though and the place is clean.

Quality of food and staff has dropped. The chips were not fresh, the salsa had little flavor and tasted "muddy" like the proportions were wrong, and the portion sizes have gone down and the entrees were not as fresh and flavorful as I remembered them being. This was a disappointing visit. The service was friendly but the dress code seemed laxed and service was a bit slow. There are several great choices for Mexican in the area so to compete, improvements are needed.

Great Staff! Love the complimentary chips, salsa, and beans! The fresh tortillas they make are also a nice touch. I had the mesquite burger and it was huge! It came with skin cut fries which were delish! Next time i'll have to try the steak i hear its good!

They have great queso and been dips. Crawfish quesadillas are fantastic. Sat is pretty quick for Cinco de Mayo.

Best tortillas around. Yummy food, nice staff. Very kid friendly too. Would give it 5 stars if they had "white drinks" (virgin piña coladas - my kids love them). Try the fish tacos and the grilled shrimp taco salad.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Baton Rouge. Homemade tortillas are the best. Service is great.

This is one of the few restaurants in town that we consistently eat at. The food is great, and the service is consistent and friendly. I usually go for the shrimp fajitas and if you go this route--ask for the handmade tortillas, they are amazing!!! The fish tacos are also delicious! If you are having a get together, use them for catering! It is always a hit!!

So if you're used to the one on Perkins/Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge, then you might wanna stick to that one! The salsa has a weird taste, the service is slower, and the portions are actually a little smaller. But the queso still kicks butt!!

I just had lunch here and it was delicious. The waiter, Sergio, brought me chips, salsa, and bean dip when I sat down. The salsa was okay but not spicy at all, and the bean dip was served hot and it wasn't bad. I don't usually like bean dip but this one was okay. I ordered the crispy taco lunch plate with fajita chicken. The rice was good but the tacos were fantastic! For $8.99 (and $1.50 upcharge for fajita chicken) I got 3 tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, and ample cheese. The seasoning on the chicken was great and I am stuffed. I will eat here again!

Wonderful staff! The chicken vegetable soup is so delicious that I often day dream about it. Even to-go orders get complimentary chips and salsa. Highly recommend!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
