The pizza is pretty good! The service is mediocre at best. The management leaves a lot to be desired. When we had a problem with our order they were hesitant to simply fix the order! When they finally gave us the right pizza, it was burnt! Their excuse was they were busy and short staffed. Guess what? Your customer doesnt care what excuses you have! Please your customer at any cost. The little money you waste, (and can write off on your taxes) will get you far by word of mouth. This small incident will cause bad reviews and the story will spread to many friends and family.

Very good New York style pizza. Great, thin crust, and a good price. Available by the slice. This is becoming a regular spot for me.

If you find yourself in Metairie with a hankering for a slice, Brooklyn Pizzeria is your place. Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday. Not crowded. Walked up to the counter and placed our order with the friendly girl working. Slice of pepperoni is big enough you may only need one. The crust is thin and crisp. Ordered the Italian salad as well. I suggest getting the small, because even the small is a good size. Big enough to split between two people for sure! This seems like a good go-to pizza place in Metairie. Heck I like it so much, I would go out of my way to grab a slice here again!

Good solid pizza. I usually come here for lunch and get it by the slice. The all meat is covered with meaty goodness. It's a bit on the greasy side, but it's reasonably priced and satisfies my pizza cravings.

On yelp, New Yorkers claim that this was the real thing. Well I'm a New Yorker, and I could tell you it's the real thing too. More Brooklyn than Long Island, but that is what they advertise and it is quite good. I just ordered a second slice. I will visit this place again for sure. Staff is attentive and friendly. The free Wi-Fi is just a plus as well. Excellent!

Tried the sausage and mushroom pizza and wings. It was pretty good. Want try other items on the menu though

This is a dive pizza joint, and for dive pizza, it's on the top of its game. I came here to celebrate my graduate school graduation because it serves cheap beer and cheap pizza, but the pizza tastes great, and the beer is cold. The pizza-by-the-slice is pretty good, but I recommend ordering a full pizza to get the best quality and selection.

This is great pizza. It was a little on the oily side -probably due to all the meat. The sauce is flavorful with lots of herbs. The curst is thin and crispy not chewy. Slice still holds top in my opinion but this is the second best pizza I've had in NOLA. The eggplant parm was a little dissapointing. The eggplant was soggy, which is common for eggplant parm, but this one was very soggy. My guess is that they use precooked fried eggplant - which just makes for a soggy mess. You dont have to hand batter the things but spend the extra 5mins and fry the eggplant slices to order. It makes a huge difference. The meatball sandwich was very good. Smaller sized meatballs but they were very juicy. I do wish their menu was a little more diverse. Its your basic pizza place with pizza, calzones, pasta, and tossed salad. A few more sandwiches and salads would be great. I'd definetly recommend this place.

This place was pretty bangin' Me and my coworkers came here for lunch one day on our business trip. The large pie was very decently priced, but when we got it, it was because the toppings were a little skimpy. But the cheese and sauce and the style of the crust was very decent. If I were in this part of town, looking for pizza, I would come here.

Wow. Not impressive. They burnt our pizza and had the audacity to still serve it. See photo. The mozzarella sticks were gross frozen reheated junk. I'd rather have spent $3 on the worst frozen pizza we could find because it would have been a step up to this disaster. I'd be embarrassed to serve what we were served. Never again. Waste of $20. We eat healthy and decided to have a cheat day. We were the ones who were cheated. Out of our money and out of our cheat food. We left half our burnt pizza behind because even though we lost the money and out cheat food it wasn't worth eating it. Sad day

Terrible pizza! Absolutely terrible. I've been here twice and ordered two different pizzas just to be fair. Both were terrible.

Friendly staff, good pizza. Way better than the chain garbage. I frequently pick up to go and the pizza is always very good. Italian dressing for salad is good and their bell pepper soup is good. No complaints.

I love their pizza. Nice thin crust perfect amount of toppings. I am a huge fan of Mo's pizza in westwego and this is probably my favorite east bank pizza joint

If only you could see our faces upon biting into this pizza! We are from jersey, and just moved down here a couple months ago, so we know pizza! So, so, so bad! A thin crust is fine but the dough had no taste and was falling apart, and the sauce! Ugh! Don't even get me started! We knew it would be hard to find a pizza placed that satisfied us, but when we saw a place called BROOKLYN pizza we got excited. Well, the name of the place did not fit the pizza. Very disappointment. Definitely won't be back here again.

This is New Orleans not New York which makes it a feat in itself to find good New York style pizza. Which brings me to this, Hello Brooklyn! Brooklyn Pizzeria is a family business run by a transplanted New Yorker (we are off to a good start). I didn't dine in, but the setup is reminiscent of a typical NY pizzeria - basic table and chairs, lots of pics on the wall, menu board behind the counter and a condiments counter. They sell pies (they are known as the "Home of the 20-inch pie"), along with sandwiches, pastas and desserts. I settled on two Slices (Pepperoni & Sausage). These slices are huge and by no means does one person have to order two, I just do greedy thing like that sometimes. I assume the slices come from their 20-inch pies. I liked the pizza. The crust is thinner and crispier. The beauty of a crust like this, along with the large slices, meant that the pieces were begging to be folded when they were eaten, which I find actually enhances the taste. The sauce provided a good balance of sweet. The pepperoni was crispy, with a good amount of spice. It was very good, and I'd definitely recommend it. Also for such large slices, this pizza is a very good value.

1 star for nothing. We sat for about 5 minutes. No hello no welcome no acknowledgment at all. But they were clearly looking at us through the kitchen door just giggling. So we got up and walked out then the waitress came out to say have a good night to us. We did feel discriminated against from the look they gave us.

Brooklyn Pizzeria is a place I want to like. I have been here many times hoping for improvement. I grew up in NOLA, but lived in NY many years, and my wife's family is from Brooklyn and still lives there. We visit often. I fell in love with real NY pizza in NYC. Brooklyn Pizza is very disappointing. It does have thin crust but it is tasteless, the sauce is bland, and the cheese is very sparse...not at all like a New York pie. On each visit, the place was FILTHY. It was particularly bad on my last visit: the smell was terrible upon entering. When I went to order the counter guy, who was sitting on the ground smoking when I drove up, stank very badly. I don't think he washed his clothes or bathed in a while. The other three workers looked just as bad, but without the order. The trash cans by the soda machine smelled like rotting food and stale beer, and all three of them were almost full (this was at 5pm, the beginning of a Friday night shift). Still I'm a sucker for NY pizza, and I thought it would be better this time. It wasn't. My crust was had a lot of black charred crumbs on the bottom of it. Apparently, they don't clean the oven either. They're consistent with cleaning! I had to clean my table before I sat down. I guess the three other workers sitting at the only clean table watching TV couldn't be bothered to clean the tables...or the restaurant! Disgusting. As I mentioned before, I love New York pizza. Because of this, I'm sure I'll try again in another month or so in hopes they clean the oven, start using better crust and sauce and scrub down that filthy restaurant. I'm a hopeful pizza lover.

One thing New Orleans doesn't have is great pizza. However, Brooklyn pizza is pretty decent given our options. The place is on Veterans near Clearview and is a bit of a pain to get to but pretty worth it if you're craving NY style pizza. We usually like our pizza plain with just extra cheese but I have also had their pepperoni and a few of their specialty pies and their food has always been good. I am partial to the plain cheese but think it is the best in the city. Reasonably priced and the pizza is always ready when they say it will be so that is a bonus.

Excellent thin crust pizza. Super cheap! Big slice and drink for a couple dollars. Perfect meal. I'm here at least once a week, gotta get my pizza fix! Nothing like pizza fresh from the oven, with little charred egdes and bubbles o the fresh thin crust. Dang I'm hungry now.

True new York style pizza. When I'm going back to Baton Rouge my wife has me pick up a pizza for her. She lived in New York and said this reminds her of it. Nothing else in southern Louisiana like it.

Their by-the-slice pizza is quite excellent, as are their cannolis. They also stock Barq's root beer in the glass long neck bottles, which is a particular vice of mine. The slices of pizza are giant and deliciously oily (if you like that sort of thing, I do!). They are the perfect size for folding and chowing down, as any slice of pizza that call it self 'New York style' should be. The walls are covered with NY mementos. Being from NY, it feels like home to me. Their cannolis also have chocolate chips in the filling! Try them!

It is difficult to find good pizza in Nola. Maybe the name Brooklyn Pizza had my expectations too high because this place is just pretty good. It's not great compared to other cities that offer a real NY style pizza. The pizza was good and they do offer by the slice. The service was good and the location is convenient.

My husband and I are tri-state transplants and we are very picky about our pizza. We got the 20 inch pizza and it was HUGE. Who cares about size if it stinks? This pizza definitely does not stink. It was like being back in NJ. You take good pizza for granted when there's so much of it around you. It is difficult to find true NY/NJ style pizza in the south. Brooklyn hit it home.

Usally the places claiming to be New York pizzas suck, but this place is actually pretty good. The pizza was Delicious. I got a slice and wanted more. Great lunch treat, not greasy and just tastes wonderful and I absolutely love the thin crust! The place is cheap which makes it more wonderful in my eyes. The service not my favorite but wasn't a mean staff or anything.

I had the sudden itch for NY style pizza, which I haven't had since i moved out of NY. I gave this place a try based on reviews. Its hard for me to review my pizza since it came out so incredibly burnt. I have no idea what flavor it was because all I could taste was char. I wanted to throw this pizza at the stoner working the ovens. My girlfriend wouldn't let me complain, so I had to force myself to eat this garbage. Why am I complaining? Because I had to watch the elderly couple sitting next to us go through the same thing. His wife wouldn't let him complain either.

Warning: Although I am not a huge fan of NY style pizza, I am a big fan of pizza in general. Yes, I've actually been to NY and had good NY style pizza, so I DO know what I am talking about here. I was excited about getting good traditional foldable NY pizza at Brooklyn's. For those who know me, they know I'm a loyal yelper and only bother to write reviews of great stuff, unless it's crap, then I feel compelled to warn others. When I went inside Brooklyn's at the height of summer, the restaurant actually felt at least 10 degrees hotter inside. I placed my to-go order at the counter and the workers were so rude I could barely contain my frustration to complete my order. While I was waiting, I watched the big pizza oven and noticed that every pizza coming out was inconsistent, especially with the crusts being practically blackened. "Was this a southern take on NY pizza?" I wondered with naïvety. I had ordered a big pie and the stuffed bell pepper soup. As I watched the worker box each pizza, I thought to myself, "Are they kidding? Surely they aren't serving burnt pizzas!" When I got home, sure enough, BURNT, nearly to a crisp. Okay folks, I'm not talking about a nice mild char that one may see on the belly of a good thin crispy pizza, but a fully burnt-nearly-to-oblivion crusted pizza. It was so burnt that the toppings were dried up and the sauce evaporated in the process. So forget a nice folding NY pizza experience - this pizza actually cracked into pieces. The soup was only fair, extremely lacking in any ingredients whatsoever and certainly nothing exceptional or even really good for that matter. This experience was so bad that I didn't even have the motivation to call them to complain, just knowing I'd have to talk to one of those rude people again. I knew I'd never go back to Brooklyn's again, even if they offered me another pizza. We actually argued over who would be the unlucky person to take the leftover pizza home. Poo poo on this place! If I wanted crappy service and inedible pizza, I'd go to a gas station. You can always find good pizza though at That's Amoré (esp. the Chicago and they just relocated to Clearview @ W. Metairie) or at Italian Pie or Reginelli's.

I'm a New Yorker born and raised and absolutely HATE every other pizza place in NOLA and Metairie. This is the ONLY GOOD pizza. Thin crust (the way pizza should be for you southerns who don't know) tomato tasting marina sauce not sweet (the way sauce should be). The reason for only 4 stars? The woman that works there has the WORST f***ing attitude ever. Every other time I've gone in the guys seem fine, this lady has a stick up her ass that needs to be pulled out. Other than that, the pizza's awesome.

I bought the Yollar coupon last week (3 of them, actually), so the boyfriend, baby, and I got Brooklyn takeout this weekend. This is still my favorite pizza in the metro area... especially at half price! There was one issue, but I'm not going to deduct stars for one service problem in the multiple times we've gone here. I called to place an order and was put on hold. Normally this doesn't bother me, except that it took forever and I could hear the conversation in the background. Something about fishing? It didn't sound work-related. Anyway, once my phone timer reached 6 minutes, I hung up. I called again from my cell phone in a couple of minutes and placed our order. An 18" 6 topping pizza comes out to $22 and some change. I purchased the $20 gift certificate for $10, so all in all I paid $12-something for a HUGE pizza. And, as always, it was fantastic. I just wish they would use real mushrooms. They have awesome toppings, like the garlic sausage, but stil use canned mushrooms. Sigh. It was still awesome, though. We had leftovers to eat for a couple of days!

I really wanted to like this place but my order was stone cold by the time I picked it up (after they advised it would be 25-30 mins). I got the 12" wheat plain cheese pizza and this is DEFINITELY NOT LIKE NY PIZZA! it was entirely too thin. There was no crust on it, it looked like something a 2 year old would make at home to pass for a slice of pizza (cut pita in half, then sauce from can and add some mozzarella. I used to make'em at home ALL THE TIME!) . The only thing edible were the zeppoli (i.e. cut up pizza dough drowned in mounds of powdered sugar, or what I like to call the "poor man's" beignets). I'll try and give'em another chance, but I can't make any promises.

My new found love! Italian Pie use to be my spot, but this place has taken over that place and my addiction! Love pizza and this has to be one of the best non-commerical pizza joints in the city. Just wish they had more than one location and the staff be a little more friendly. I come here every weekend. Update: Had to take a star off because they don't take phone orders for pizzas by the slice. Don't understand why. C'mon Brooklyn don't do this to me!

  • Rick S.

I do enjoy this place. The pizza is good, the muffaletta is a-ok as well. I've never had a problem with any of the staff, even when I've been there a little too close to closing time. Not that they are SUPER friendly, but I've never had anyone be rude. The shrine to their children's high school career is a bit creepy, tho.

  • Gabe R.

I absolutely love their pizza. It's by far my favorite place to get a pizza in the NOLA area. It's thin crust yummy goodness. I usually order meat lovers or supreme style pizza's at most places but here a simple cheese is good enough. I have been here at least 30 times and it is always consistently good. I'd give the pizza 5 stars and the atmosphere 3.

Hi! Want to be treated rudely and cursed at for using a coupon? Well, come on down to Brooklyn's Pizza where the manager needs a lesson on how to treat customers! Losing your temper about a coupon policy is NOT COOL BUDDY! I don't care how good the pizza is, if you treat customers like crap, you will NOT have repeat business. And oh, do I have a *lot* of friends that like pizza and GUESS where they aren't going to eat pizza at? Yep, you guessed it! What were you thinking? Was it really worth it?

Best pizza in Metairie. Sauce tastes great, toppings always fresh, perfect crust. Barq's in a bottle always a plus. My only complaint is the lack of parking. A few times I've wanted to stop but couldn't find anywhere to park so I kept going. If they delivered , I'd order prob once a week.

  • Scott D.

I use this place as a barometer for pizza. This is NY style pizza. The crust is perfect. The toppings are great. Pro tip: Do not ask for extra cheese. It's wayyyyy too much cheese and I'm a cheese lover. This place will show you that a simple pepperoni pizza can be damn good. Oh and it's very reasonably priced. It gets 4 stars because the staff can be a little grumpy at times. Avoid eye contact and keep conversation to a minimum with them and enjoy your fucking pizza!!! You're welcome!!

  • Stephen K.

Busy pizza place, counter service only, limited parking, well used dining area. We had the large 20" pizza with bell peppers, black olives and mushrooms. Pizza is very thin toasty crust, very light on sauce (did it even have sauce?), good cheese. Kind of stingy with with the peppers and black olives. Canned mushrooms - are you kidding me? That is a deal breaker. If you like thin crust, maybe this is good? If this is what passes for good pizza in Brooklyn, no need for me to leave New Orleans. Cheers!

The BEST New York style pizza in all of Louisiana, hands down! I'm a true New Yorker, been here over a decade now and I so miss NY pizza, up until now --- when I need a fix, this is the place I turn to and it never disappoints!

Good place...slice service....and quick lunch service make it a good lunch spot....skip the wings...a baked version not a fried version...I like my wings crispy!...LOL....parking is a pain though...pizza slices are big and foldable and really tasty!...just like in New York...this is no Ray's Pizza but hey its New Orleans....its above Par!!

  • ashley r.

Seriously the best pizza in and around New Orleans! Having just moved from NYC to New Orleans a few months ago, I've been on the hunt for something remotely close to real NYC pizza. Other places around the city have disappointed, but Brooklyn Pizzeria really is fantastic. Everything from the size, taste, consistency, and crust if perfect. It's totally worth the drive no matter where you live.

A group of friends went to Brooklyn Pizzeria last night and had 2 coupons..upon one of us ordering the owner said we couldn't use both coupons at the same time. He was very ugly about it when explaining this. After we said we had separate orders I asked if he was going to let me use my coupon and he said, "since you're being an ass, I guess so"...after that verbal abuse, I took the coupon back and told everyone I was not going to be treated like this and we were leaving. My friend who had placed her order about 1 minute before me asked for her coupon back and he refused....he called her a fucking bitch and she proceeded to call the police....he had to give us the pizza but needless to say, we threw it in the garbage and will NEVER go there again...not a very good way to gain customers!!

I have liked this place since Airline Hwy. I purchased some coupon on Half price mall radio. I have used 2 of the 4 I bought. My friends and I had a girl's night and we went there to use our other coupons. We were met rudely by the owner, he actually used foul language. I wanted my coupon back and leave with 8 ladies. He refused to give it back or honor it. To say the least we were upset, called police. He then followed us outside and called us a bunch of ******** Boycott this place!!!!

  • Rebecca P.

It actually tasted and looked like NY pizza with it's thin crust and flavor. The only drawback was that it was a little too salty, hence the 3-star instead of a 4-star rating. But, everything in New Orleans was a bit overly salty on this trip, so maybe it was my tongue. Either way, for the money, this pizza is worth it's value if you have eating out options. Skip the Domino's and go for something authentic.

Pizza here is as authentic as u can get!

I got a cheese slice and veggie slice with a diet coke. It was $7 and change which is a bit on the high side for a pizza place. The slices were big which is nice. They were ok, but not amazing.

  • Paul P.

This is the closest thing, scratch that, it is New York Pizza! Anyone from New York who begs to differ can lie all they want. It's good. Period. The pizza is enormous, but that's not the sell, unlike Mo's in Westwego (Giant Crap). This pizza is ginormous AND tastes like I just left Brooklyn yesterday. Great Job guys.

This is my favorite spot for pizza. Lots of toppings to choose from or get one they have come up with.

This isn't perfect New York style pizza but it's damn near close. Brooklyn Pizza is the best pizza you can find in New Orleans, trust me on this. I used to live on the east coast so I would know what good pizza is.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
