If you have ANY breathing issues, I would suggest not visiting this Casino. Ventilation is ridic. I don't have any breathing issues & I had to step outside to catch a good breath.... Valet is a debacle.. Good luck with that.. We pulled up & there were at lease 9 of them just standing there.. One of them must have mentioned to another, helping us unload.. I heard him say, "I'm on my lunch break". I'm like, well why in thee hell are you out here? So, one of them finally asked if we needed help, I politely responded " No, we have it.. Don't want to bother any of you".. What in thee entire fck?! I'm not even sure what the 2nd star is for.. Oh, Ms. Ethel.. The house keeping lady that came to change our bedding because there were blood stains on one of the top coverings ...She was a blessing just with her presence... This is not the first time I've had bedding issues at this Casino. Once I kneeled down to say my prayers and was welcomed by the stench and wetness of urine... I thought since they'd remodeled those issues would be that of the past..Happy gambling tho

I have been playing and staying at Paragon since 2003 when my daughter was small. Back then they had rustic cabins and an RV resort and a KidsQuest child care center. The place has undergone a massive expansion over the years into a more family-friendly place so the kids have activities while mom and dad can still gamble. I have never won any substantial amount of money at Paragon but I lose just enough to make sure the casino keeps mailing me valuable comps for free lodging and food that more than offset what I spend at the slots. The plush bedding in the hotel rooms truly makes you feel like you're on vacation and the three pools and movie theater are perfect to occupy older kids. You can play their midweek slot tournament for free and get a $10 meal comp that actually buys you a satisfying sandwich, side and soft drink at Roxy's Diner. But again, I don't ever win large amounts of money at Paragon, so it's not as much fun without the comps. Modify your expectations accordingly and you'll have a good time!

Terrible!!!!! First, we had to ask for valet. They did not even attempt to walk up to our car to asks if that was why we were getting out of the car. They lost our room so we had to wait an hour for them to put us into something else. It was an upgrade that the girl made a HUGE deal about. They were upset that they could not charge us for the upgrade but they had to do it since they lost our room. The upgrade was hardly an upgrade. They were missing shades on the lamps- the toilets were dirty- the tub was covered in gold varnish that was wasting away. It smelt terrible- AC was set on 65 yet we sweated the entire night. Next morning for check out- we had breakfast at Roxies which is GREAT! They were way under staffed and the coffee is the worst I have ever tasted but the food was incredible. When we went to leave , we watched the valet take a nice stroll to get our car. No running or care or concern, tipped them $2 and she looked at me like I was the rude one. Believe me I used to wait tables- I would have tipped more had I seen more of some power walking/running instead of strolling with hands in the pocket. We will definitely never stay here again- will go across the street even if it costs more.

People are nice here and really friendly. The food is always hot and delicious and a lot to choose from. There's a lot to do here if you're underage like swimming, movies, and arcades. Our room was very clean and the beds were really comfy. I am defiantly coming back to this place :)

The check in people were really slow. The door handle to my room only opened when yanked up. The room phone didn't work. The room smelled musty. The shower had no light and was dark. I was excited for the Monday night poker tournament, then found out they never have enough people to play. At 42 I felt very young here. Now the positives. The diner staff is friendly. The steakhouse is decent. The gym and pool are nice. There is a movie theater in there. Lots for kids to do. Decent conference facility.

I love Paragon! I would go more often if it weren't so far and I knew of a better way to get there. I'm not great with directions and have gotten lost each trip even with GPS, so it's a little frustrating but worth the headache once I get there. The rooms are not the nicest I have stayed in but they are clean, well appointed and they leave you snacks and water complimentary to enjoy at your leisure. The alligator's certainly make this place unique - I love walking the lobby and then playing in the casino which is a gamblers dream as they have all the machines a slot fanatic craves - from the old ones to the new ones! I've never had a bad experience here - I just wish I knew a better way to get there. Still, the comps do not compare to what I get at Coushatta, or even in Las Vegas - so my visits are not too often.

Smokey. Smokey. But loads of nice employees and friendly local players. Unfortunately I drove the 600 mile round trip and found that no players had shown up for the advertised NL Texas Hold'em tourney. Played small cash with locals and won some. Overall a very fun getaway but stay in the Hampton Inn if smoke ruins your sleep. We did!

Mixed review. Valets were standing around when we arrived. Not one asked if they could help with our luggage. Stephanie at the atrium bar was very friendly and helpful. The maid saw we had a child and knocked on the door shortly after arriving bearing cookies, chips, and water for him. Legends automatically added a twenty percent tip without it being stated. Waiter loses because we typically tip better than that, but not if forced to. Legends loses because we won't go back. No hot water in the shower and tub would not drain. No apology or comp of any kind when the front desk was informed. No cell service inside or wifi of any kind. Other than that a beautiful place in central Louisiana. The kid's quest is amazing for younger children.

Myself and 2 friends booked a balcony room this past weekend. the rooms were booked 3 weeks ago. Upon our arrival we were told that all balcony rooms were filled. We were Told that check in was at 4:00. We could not get into our room till 4:45. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, we were told they were not available. We went to our room to find the safe out of order. Called the front desk to report this and was told no maintenance personnel on the premises. We were offered to use a safe at the check in counter. NO WAY. Rude staff, un professional, did not care about the customers. We did go to the Spa on Saturday and I give the Spa a 10 star. The staff was more professional than anyone in the whole casino. Everyone in the Spa was so friendly and accommodating. I would not recommend this casino but would highly recommend the Spa.

I have to say that I love this place despite the smoke inhalation. If you can find a good spot it's easy to steer clear of it all. If you are a small time gambler such as myself i.e. penny, nickle and dine slots, then this place is for you! They have tons upon tons of choices of slots to choose from. It's the next best thing to Vegas! The food is one of the main reasons we come here. When we are in town to see family in Alexandria we often visit the Paragon's Seafood buffet! They have everything seafood! Crab legs (big ones), shrimp done a thousand ways and then some. What I love most about this place is that they do a great job at accomodating large parties of 20+! The food is always fresh and the servers are very friendly. Their buffet has several 'types' of seafood choices for lack of a better word. Italian, Cajun, American you name it they've got it! The dessert bar IS something to write home about....oh so yummy, banana pudding how do I love thee? I can't wait to go back and for a price of $18.95/person it's not bad for all that you get!!

Smoky Casino with all the Vegas Games. Get a free drink and lose some money. Bring your golf clubs, because that is the better part. The Golf Course is One of the Best Value's in the State.

Nice, Large Buffet Area We went here as part of a side trip; it wasn't the actual destination. I say that because we went there to have a late lunch/early dinner. I thought the buffet was be a good option for our small group. The buffet area is large, spacious, and kept very clean. I've found in the past that casino buffets usually have really good food. I guess they do not want you to leave. Well, this food was just okay. Not bad, but not great. There is a nice salad bar, an international station that was serving crawfish, a carving station with prime rib, and dessert station. There were other items in and around, but surprising there was no fresh fruit. I wanted to give it more stars but they do not offer a military or senior discount, so that is why the 3 stars.

As a casino the Paragon has fallen drastically. The cleanliness and management would benefit greatly from some sort of modifications. The restaurants are okay but the smokers take away a lot from the experience, well unless you are a smoker yourself? As a hotel from our last stay the cleanliness was only satisfactory at best but would have to blame management on that as well for not conducting QA inspections of the work. My only reason for even coming back to the place would have to be for the buffet.

Paragon Casino Resort is very much so a go-to spot and a hot-spot for locals and tourists alike. They have a movie theater, a spa, a golf course, shops, a live alligator pond indoors, an arcade for older kids, kids quest for younger kids, an RV park, cabins, chalets, a newly revamped New Orleans themed hotel complete with balconies. The rooms are very nice and modern with plenty amenities. The casino also has many concerts and events on a regular basis. Additionally the casino has many slots and table games even VIP and high roller rooms. Also, there is several places to choose to eat including The Buffet and well...you just can't go wrong there. Weekends is seafood night and seasonally they serve all you can eat boiled crawfish for a set price.

Their buffet has a nice big selection of food. The hotel section is ok. The casino does reek of tons of cigarette smoke though. Never won anything at the casino, but maybe someone else will be more fortunate than I. I never won anything, so I don't gamble at this casino.

This place has everything. I came on a trip for a group of 50 and they gave us $10 food vouchers and $25 free play. I don't gamble so I gave my free play away. For a small fee of course! :) They have an awesome movie theater with concessions to go along with it. Free wifi everywhere...that's always a plus! What I didn't like about Paragon was having to pay for the workout facility! $10. What a rip off. I figured since enough people put their money in those stupid machines, that should come along with the hotel stay! Nope! Also, the spa has ridiculous prices and there aren't too many TV channels to choose from! Although this is nice, it could be a lot better. I was told that it used to be WAY BETTER and they have been losing business. The best thing about this place are the hotel beds and the theater....the buffet is ok too.

Not throughly impressed given the rates they charge. Out door pool area with not enough seating. Guests are supposed to be wearing wrist bands no one monitoring. Nice casino for this area but better to go to a larger Casio for the $ spent. The staff at Starbucks needs training as they don't know their jobs very well.

Well, hum.. What can I say good about this place? NOTHING! The food at Roxy's was awful, and we waited an hour to get it. The room was extremely small, hot, out dated, and not at all clean. You wouldn't believe the shower! Icky and the floors were filthy. The lady working the arcade was extremely rude, and 50% of the games in the arcade weren't working anyway. The kids play area wouldn't allow my 14 year old to just sit in the play area with my 18 month old so she could play too (she is afraid of strangers) so she ended up not being able to play. They have so many rules about everything here, I'm pretty sure they have rules on how to follow the rules. They allow smoking everywhere so the restaurants, the lobby, everything is full of smoke. I understand this is a casino, but you would think there would be somewhere non-smokers could enjoy themselves also. The one star would be for the lady that was nice checking us in. And we haven't even hit the casino yet! We won't be back for sure.

I've been a member of the casinos player club for 20+ years. In recent months I have seen this casino decline in service, promotions, courtesy, cleanliness and as such has become one of the worst casino experiences one could have. On my most recent visit, after spending 1k+ dollars I was denied a drink because my players card tier was not high enough. This is the first time ever seeing this happen at a casino. If you are expecting to go to the paragon know that if you aren't a high roller with a high tier you will be treated like crap. So take your money to any of the other 3 casinos in the area and have a wonderful experience.

I must say, I used to enjoy roxys, but after the meal me and my husband had, not so much anymore. I ordered chicken fried steak with gravy, which wasn't bad, but the scrambled eggs weren't seasoned and what they called hash browns were actually diced potatoes and we're cold. My husband had a burger and fries. He took one bite and put it down. I asked him what was wrong and he said just taste it. I did. It was very dry and had no seasoning. And the fries were cold

One of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. Management needs to be changed and improvements made. Seems our experience is echoed by many others here. The first day after returning to our room we found we had no new soap bars and the ones we used, still usable, had been removed. We also noticed no body wash, shampoo or conditioner. We called the front desk and asked for the items. Someone came to the door rather quickly with a giant bag of all of the items placed in the bathroom; including a weeks worth of coffee, sugar, Splenda, stir sticks, and coffee cups--all items we didn't ask for...in addition to 1 days worth of the various towels and the items we did ask for; except for bars of soap. The next day the room cleaning service didn't make the bed or place any items in the proper place. We spoke with two maids in the hallway of our room the next morning and both of them said they were not assigned to clean our room. Huh? We complained at the front desk and thought it would be handled. Long story short we didn't get room cleaning service for the remainder of our 5 day stay. We must have pissed off someone in room cleaning service and/or management to have them retaliate against us for just asking them to do their job. The positive about this establishment is the waiters appreciated our 20% tips in the buffet and other restaurants as well as the bartenders because they said the locals don't tip worth a damn. I won't give this hotel a second look ever again.

Been going to Paragon casino for 15 years now and always had a good time the hotel staff always friendly and always get room upgrades to the atrium when i can. Has a movie theater that is nice a really nice indoor swimming pool. Casino staff are friendly most of the time but really hard to get a drink there. Several restaurants and thats where we had our big disappointment if you can avoid dining at Roxy's Diner please do Roxy's Diner: we were there 12-26-14 middle of the night more like 12-27-14 got seated two of us and the waitresses 4-5 kept passing us by so finally one waitress asked us what we wanted to drink we told her two pepsis she left and never came back but all waitresses were walking by us like we weren't even there same thing with another table right across from us but we kept noticing that other people that came in after we did got seated were getting there food and waitresses just walking by us ignoring us like we weren't even there(i want to say a word but its pretty strong word and it starts with a D) we got tired of waiting and watching waitresses walking by us not once not twice but more than 10 times so as we were about to leave out of the kitchen comes the cook,THE COOK, and she asked us if anybody was helping us and we said no and she brought our drinks and asked us if we wer ready to order and she took our order and went to the kitchen and cooked our hamburgers and fries and she THE COOK brought our food to our table. But over all the casino and hotel are nice we just not gonna go to Roxy's Diner anymore

Paragon is an awful place to stay and play. Very very smoke filled environment all you have to do is stay ten minutes and your clothes reeks with smoke. And the payouts aren't very good at all like no one wins. And if you want Internet forget it. Go somewhere else!

Let me preface this by saying my husband and I love to gamble. That being said, this casino is 5+ hours from Katy, Texas and a long drive. We had high hopes given that we had tickets to see Ron White. The atrium was cool with the live alligators and we checked them out but didn't attend a show. OUR ROOM: We had reservations for Friday and Saturday night. Upon check in at the front desk, we inquired about upgrading our room. The front desk agent acted put out and directed us to the VIP lounge. Mind you, we don't even have players cards at this point. But okay, let's go see. Once we were there, we actually got an "upgrade" to the atrium tower (from an exterior room in the north tower) for cheaper than our original reservation. In addition, because we are from Texas, we also received a $50 Paragon gift card to use during our stay. On to our room...our upgraded room. To us it seemed like a "normal" room - two full beds (definitely NOT queens) a microwave, mini fridge and the bathroom. The toilet in the bathroom felt like it was going to come off of the foundation every time you would use it. The toiletries in our room seemed like odds and ends from different hotels. Not sure why they didn't match, but whatever, not a big deal. The carpet was FILTHY dirty, with stains all over. I left my socks on at all times. We ended up sleeping in separate beds because a full is not fit for two people. After we went and gambled the next day on Saturday, we returned to our room to freshen up before Ron White's show. Let me tell you my SHOCK. We thought they hadn't been there. Our beds were not maid, however they did replace the towels in the bathroom but not all of them. They restocked the coffee and condiments, and emptied the trash. But who does not make the beds?? Because we were staying another night, means you don't have to bother?? I would hate to see our original room we had booked. CASINO: Yes it's smoky but so are most casinos. We didn't win anything big but I was up $2,000 the first night. We went home losers but had a good time. The drink service here is TERRIBLE. The first night was better than the night of the Ron White show but you couldn't get a drink to save your soul. RESTAURANTS: We only ate at the buffet for breakfast both days and the diner for lunch one day. The first night we tried to eat at the diner but we waited almost 15 minutes and still didn't have a waitress come by. We ended up leaving, getting our car out of valet and driving to the Burger King next door because it was after 11:00 p.m. The day we ended up eating there, service was better, the food mediocre but the place was so dirty. There were plenty of wait staff but not one of them cleared a table. They just piled dishes onto an unoccupied table right next to the hostess station and waited until the bus person came out to clear the tables. It was disgusting to eat next to. The breakfast buffet was average. Nothing to write home about but it's only $7.98 per person. What more could you want? OVERALL: My husband and I both agreed that the entire staff were not friendly, hardly ever smiled and did not try to engage with us at all. They all acted so unhappy to be there. Given the distance to this whole in the wall, we won't be back.

Smokey.
